ABD'li raket 2022 Avustralya Açık finalinden sonra ilk kez bir finalde boy gösterecek. Kariyerinin 3. turnuva zaferini istiyor. Son olarak Ağustos 2021'de San Jose'de kupa kaldırmıştı. Rybakina ise bu sezonki 4. final maçına çıkacak. Brisbane ve Abu Dabi'de kazandıktan sonra Doha'da kaybetmişti. Doha'nın ardından bu sezonki 2. WTA 1000 finaline ulaştı.
