Goddess Hel, divine hostess whose arms lovingly embrace all guests, Watch over those who have crossed your gates against their will. Care for those taken from us and bless them with tranquil rest.
Godx Loki, story-teller and guardian of outcasts, Give words to our sorrow so that we may honor their memories. Breathe air into our lungs so we may bellow our love over hatred.
Goddess Hel, cherisher of life and daughter of metamorphosis, Bestow in their loved ones moments of laughter, healing, and peace. May their names echo not just in sorrow but in smiling remembrance.
Godx Loki, change-bringer and waker of revolution, Spark the flames of unrelenting authenticity within us. Stoke the ember of truth until the hateful are blinded by its light.
Under the cut are the siblings, youth, and elders whose lives were taken due to hatred, bigotry, and fear. I understand it is incredibly triggering, but I believe we owe it to them to read their names.
We love you. We are unendingly sorry and we will never stop fighting until the hatred that stole you from this life has been extinguished. We love you so much.

Edward VI of England
Edward VI of England reigned as king from 1547 to 1553 CE. Succeeding his father Henry VIII of England (r. 1509-1547 CE), Edward was only nine years old at the time and so the kingdom was ruled by a council of nobles, foremost among whom was Edward's maternal uncle, Edward Seymour (l. c. 1500-1552 CE) until he was replaced by John Dudley, the Earl of Northumberland (l. 1504-1553 CE). During Edward's reign, Protestant religious reforms continued as the Church of England broke further away from the traditions of the established Catholic Church directed by the Pope. There were also popular uprisings as the economy faltered and inflation was rampant. Edward's reign was short as he died of tuberculosis aged just 15. He was succeeded by his cousin Lady Jane Grey (1537-1554 CE) until what the majority of the people and nobility regarded as the rightful heir, his elder half-sister, was installed nine days later as Mary I of England (r. 1553-1558 CE).
Henry VIII & The Succession
Henry VIII married six times but it was his first three marriages that each produced a future monarch. With Catherine of Aragon (1485-1536 CE), Henry had a daughter, Mary (b. Feb. 1516 CE). With Anne Boleyn (c. 1501-1536 CE), there was another daughter, Elizabeth (b. Sep. 1533 CE). With wife number three, Jane Seymour, who was a lady-in-waiting at court, Henry had his first and last legitimate son, Edward, born on 12 October 1537 CE in Hampton Court Palace. At the joyous news, there followed 2,000 cannon shots let off in the Tower of London, bells rang out across England and there were 24 hours of parties and feasts but, tragically, Jane died 12 days after giving birth, most likely from post-natal fever.
As the first marriage was annulled to permit the second and Anne Boleyn was executed on charges of adultery, so each of their children was disinherited and it was Edward who became the official heir to the throne. As more wives came and went and no more children were forthcoming, Henry changed his mind in 1544 CE and declared that Edward could be succeeded by his half-sister Mary with Elizabeth next in line.
Henry VIII's health declined rapidly in his later years as the king became seriously overweight and suffered a badly ulcerated leg. The king died on 28 January 1547 CE at Whitehall Palace in London; he was 55 years old. Henry was buried in Saint George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, next to his late third wife, Jane Seymour, and he was duly succeeded by Edward who became Edward VI at his coronation in Westminster Abbey on 20 February 1547 CE. Henry, having split the Church in England from Rome to acquire his first marriage annulment and gone on a massive spending spree on palaces and wars, left his son an impoverished kingdom split over religious issues and, particularly, whether or not to press on with reforming the Church.

How the reptilian alien conspiracy theory is antisemitism, in a nutshell
Since ancient times, Jews have been falsely accused of cannibalistic crimes.
During WWII, antisemitic propaganda depicted Jews as snakes and dragons.
In the early 1950s, George Hunt Williamson (an author with ties to American fascist William Dudley Pelley) wrote a book claiming that the swastika was a symbol used by supposedly good aliens, and described evil reptilian aliens from Orion in ways that sounded very much like antisemitic Jewish stereotypes.
In the late 1990's, David Icke claimed that the antisemitic hoax The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was in fact true, only the evil conspirators were evil reptilian aliens. He claimed that Judaism was a lie created by the evil reptilians to create and manipulate the Jews, and falsely claimed that European Jews aren't even real Jews. (By way of the Khazar myth.) He claimed that these "fake" Jews are possessed and controlled by reptilian entities, who control and manipulate the world. (The Jewish banker myth with lizards.)
Depending on who you ask, these reptilians consume human blood, human flesh, adrenochrome, or human fear. These are all forms of blood libel.
There is a strong current of belief that these allegedly "fake" Jews must be rounded up and executed.
If those regarded as "real" Jews aren't considered inherently evil, they are expected to eventually convert to Christianity or New Age. (IE, stop being Jewish.)
There is a strong current of belief that anyone who refuses to convert to Christianity or New Age must be executed.
The conspiracy theory has strong overlap with QAnon (many reptilian believers are QAnons), which is also antisemitic and pushes toward a Christofascist government.

Hatton had two powerful contacts at court, but his links with each were fairly weak. Firstly, he had some slender links with the Parr family, the most famous member of which, Catherine Parr, was queen of England during Hatton’s childhood. Catherine wrote in 1548 to her then husband, Lord Admiral Thomas Seymour, recommending a ‘Master Hatton’, who must at that date have been Christopher’s elder brother Francis, so some meaningful connection clearly existed. Later on, her brother, Marquess of Northampton and a magnate in that county, was prominent throughout the mid-Tudor period to his death in 1571, but there is no evidence of a relationship between him and Hatton. We have no way of assessing whether Hatton really owed his career to these links or whether they were too remote to be decisive, although it is intriguing that Princess Elizabeth was living with Catherine for the first half of 1548 – she might conceivably have become aware of Hatton’s family at that early age. Hatton’s second contact was his cousin Sir Edward Saunders. Saunders was a prominent judge, a former protégé of Thomas Cromwell, appointed Chief Justice of Queen’s Bench by Queen Mary, and a considerable figure in Warwickshire. Saunders was a confirmed Catholic, and accordingly fared less well under Elizabeth, being demoted to Chief Baron of the Exchequer. This naturally limited his utility to Hatton, although it must have been helpful at the Temple. Saunders and Hatton were clearly on good terms: Hatton was named as the overseer of Saunders’s 1576 will (and bequeathed the judge’s best gelding) but since Hatton was by then an important figure, this does not necessarily mean that Saunders advanced his career when he was merely a humble provincial gentleman. Nor is it likely that Saunders was particularly influential at court. Enis speculates that, in view of their Temple connection, Robert Dudley (whose ideological position was then fairly flexible) may have been an early patron of Hatton, but again this cannot be proven. It may well be that one of these contacts helped Hatton to begin his court career.

Fragments of Eros (Part 1)
Lady Jane Grey/Guildford Dudley
Rating: Adult
The last of the embers turned to ash, and something brushed her hand. She let out a small cry at the brief touch, the anticipation of claws or teeth that followed. But none did.
Only the feel of a warm circlet of gold slipped around her ring finger by human hands. The sound of a man’s voice, gentle, and not a beast’s.
“With this ring, I thee wed.”

Chapter 1: The Sacrifice
There was once a land with a brilliant and shining Queen. She was the great-granddaughter of the King and eldest of three beautiful daughters. The youngest two were fair and clever, but no more than human praise could do them justice. The eldest, however, though equal in fairness to her sisters, was known above all else for her cleverness of mind, and openness of heart. Indeed, both the nobility and the peasantry praised her as the most learned woman in the kingdom. News had spread throughout all the lands of the coming of a new kind of Queen, and a new kind of Kingdom. But it was not to last.
Still, the brief reign of Lady Jane Grey reverberated throughout the Kingdom. Though the rightful heir had been restored to the throne, support for their learned and tenderhearted former ruler continued to fill the hearts of the Kingdom’s citizens. Especially those to whom her fleeting sovereignty had given hope for the end of the great divisions across the lands.
This disgraceful transference of royal honors to the praise of her usurper had kindled a violent anger in the true Queen Mary. She was the eldest daughter of King Henry VIII, and had been done the grave injustice of being passed over twice for her rightful inheritance. Once, in favor of her invalid younger brother, hurried to his grave by the weight of running the Kingdom - and by the hand of his elder sister. But before King Edward had perished he had ensured that Mary would be passed over once again for some upstart young girl, a mere cousin to the King. In only nine days she had nearly undone all of the great King’s work, granting clemency to the beasts that had infested the lands. Queen Mary would see to it that order was restored to the Kingdom, and that Jane Grey regretted her stolen crown.
Despite the sage counsel of the Duke of Norfolk and her own mother - though the words “sage” and “counsel” seemed alien in conjunction with the person of Lady Frances Grey - Jane Grey had been spared the executioner’s block only to be condemned to a worser fate. Queen Mary seemed to delight in the poetic justice of Jane’s sentence. Jane, who as Queen had shown mercy to the beasts living in exile under her great uncle’s command, was now to be married to their so-called King.
It was Princess Elizabeth who had sparked the idea in Mary for this marriage. Cousin Bess, who had inherited all of the kindness between the two of them, had always been empathetic to Jane’s plight, but she also lived in fear of her sister. Bess’s mother Anne had herself been condemned as a beast and beheaded, and Bess existed under constant threat of sharing her mother’s fate. It was the only reason Jane could imagine she might conspire to enact this plan with her sister. Though perhaps Bess was truly naive enough to believe this ‘marriage’ a mercy.
Jane herself knew that the people the Queen and others of her ilk called beasts were nothing so sinister. In childhood, she had known one of them as a friend. The Greys’ household maid, Susannah, had once helped her to learn about all of the myriad plants and herbs and their curative properties, and Jane had taught her Latin in turn. They had spent every day in each other’s company, sharing in each others’ confidences - but for this one secret she withheld from Jane. Jane only learned of it when her mother had accused Susannah of theft, the sentence for which was hanging, and her friend had been forced to reveal herself. Before Jane’s eyes she had transformed into a hawk and flown away from their home , leaving behind only a fleeting apology to her young friend.
But Jane was not so naive as to think that all who were called beasts were so good and kind as her friend had been. They were just as the men and women whose forms they took, and all of mankind were equally as capable of good as they were of cruelty. Though the beasts were often charged with worshiping false gods, or practicing the dark arts, Jane herself had witnessed those same accusations hang as a pendulum between Catholic and English Churches - both condemning the other while neither was without transgression. Though she could see the good in all, she had also observed how quickly ignorance turned to hate. And so as Queen she had encouraged tolerance as well as justice among her many peoples.
However, as a woman facing the sacrificial altar, she blanched at the thought of being chained to one of these beasts, or to any man - if such a man or beast there was. No, Jane thought, it was much more likely that Mary was taking her out to the forests of Kent to die. Her death would be blamed on the beasts that dwelt there, crushing any support for Jane or her policies. And if there was some strange bridegroom waiting for her? Well, that was simply another kind of death. At best it meant exile for her - from her family and her from her kingdom - and a life of always needing to remain hidden. A marriage between the two carried a sentence of death if they were to be discovered.
Still, her mother and younger sister Katherine were heartened at the news. Her mother, for her life had been spared, and her sister Katherine, for whom it could equally be said that she was relieved and also that she greatly enjoyed weddings. Only her youngest sister Margaret seemed to sense the truth of the matter - that this was not a wedding, but a funeral.
Jane had reason to be grateful at least, that her family was finally allowed within the tower prison that had become her home these last few months, even if it was only to prepare her for the impending nuptials. Her mother had even gone so far as to collect an entire trousseau for her, though Jane could not see how it would be of use to her in any case. She tried to arrange her face into something like a smile as her younger sisters helped her into her wedding attire. The heavy brocade of the gown was woven through with golden branches and flowers, each bud filled with numerous tiny pearls that matched the delicate strands of pearls that encircled her throat and draped down the bodice. Underneath, she wore a nearly translucent chemise, and blushed hotly to think of her mother’s unsolicited advice when it had been given to her - another part of her trousseau she did not see coming to any usage.
Over her pearl-edged cap her mother lay a silken veil, shrouding her vision in an ivory film. All the better not to see what was coming, Jane thought to herself. And all the better she would not have to maintain her brave face for much longer.
But it seemed she would not have to. Jane had never thought she would live to see the day that the indomitable Lady Frances Grey shed a tear for anyone, let alone her intractable eldest daughter. Her own eyes brimmed with unshed moisture, as did her sister Katherine’s. Only Margaret was still young enough not to understand that people of their station do not wail or weep, and her cries more than made up for the silence of the elder three women. They all mourned this parting, knowing that no matter the outcome it would be their last.
Jane begged her mother and sisters not to join her on this journey, preferring to make her farewells where she now stood. She did not wish for them to see whatever fate she met - better that they believed her merely in exile with her bridegroom. She had faced becoming Queen alone, as well as the loss of her crown, her imprisonment. Jane could face this new change in fortune in solitude as well. She steeled her for the lonely ordeal ahead of her.
In the end, none of her relation would be allowed to attend her on her journey. Even Mary, both her cousin and sentencer, elected to remain behind, not wishing to enter the heart of the beasts’ territory, where resentment for her rule could be found among both beast and man alike. Jane knew that Mary was hoping this marriage would quash any sense of rebellion there - either Jane’s blasphemous marriage or the discovery of her mangled corpse would end any hope of her ever again usurping Mary’s crown. But even the possibility of seeing Jane torn apart by wild creatures was not enough to inspire the Queen to put herself at risk. Bess, tenderhearted as she was, was equally forbidden from the journey.
It was Lord Seymour, her former Councilor and Queen Mary’s right hand, who led her down from the tower as if to the gallows. Jane nearly stumbled with each step, her veil restricting her vision but not her awareness of the reality of her situation. She was in no hurry to die.
Entering the courtyard in the early light of the morning, she was assisted into a simple open cart, so very different from the gilded carriage that brought her to the palace. Her trousseau, unsurprisingly, was left behind. A grave procession left the tower walls - herself standing veiled and silent, the Kingsland Guard surrounding her, escorting her through the city as one condemned. A living corpse.
The people of her kingdom knew that to show support to their former queen as she passed was to court injury or death from the Guard. But their silence spoke volumes, their lamentations clear. Very few were there harsh words spoken against her as she was carted through the city, some naming her a pagan queen, some a lover of beasts. Her sentence had brought truth to these words, and she remained composed in facing them.
Harder to ignore were the jeers from the Guard themselves, describing all manner of beasts she would face, in particular their King. The beasts had been around since the beginnings of the lands, and many of them took the shape of animals long since passed from England’s memory - fearsome wolves, giant bears, and other creatures that only existed in legends. But their King was said to be something far more monstrous. Larger than life and shadowed in myths, it was he that kept Kingsland Guard living in fear of their kind. He who ensured their exile had only taken them east to the former seat of the Norman Kings, rather than pushed beyond the shores of England.
Jane’s rational mind knew that the King of the beasts was mere superstition, a dark fairy tale used to scare royalty and peasantry alike of the threat of allowing those who were different within their borders, an excuse for why the Guard were never able to vanquish that threat. The beasts were just as men were, capable of using mind, weapons, and rumour to fight back against their exile. And she knew none among the Guard had ever actually seen the monstrous beast they described. Still the journey was long, and it grew more and more difficult to push this particular fear from her mind.
Jane Grey stood silent and resolute as a statue for the length of her conveyance, small hands gripping at the guardrails as her legs grew weaker at the strain of standing. Heavy clouds darkened the sky such that she could never be sure how much time had passed, though she knew the journey would last nearly the entire day. A light rain fell as they crossed the boundaries of the city, weighing her wedding gown more heavily and soaking her veil until it clung to her face. It was difficult to breathe but she did not once remove it. She would not let them see her fear.
At dusk the funerial wedding procession finally reached their journey’s end, the forests of the aptly named Maidstone. Here, Jane was escorted from the cart by Lord Seymour once again, walking on shaking legs to the clearing of the White Horse Stone near the Pilgrim’s way. The sarsen monument found there was older than their kingdom, older even than written history. It belonged to the pagans that came before them, and was decided upon as the ideal setting for such a profaning of the sacrament of marriage as this.
The stone itself was wide and flat as a table - or as a tomb. A cloth of black velvet was laid across it, lending it a further sepulchral air. Jane was lifted to lay across it, her wrists and ankles bound in rope. She was laid out as if in her grave. Jane felt as a corpse, cold and stiff as she was from her journey. Four torches were lit at each corner, to ward off the coming darkness of night but not the chill of it. The sounds of trumpets rang out as an elegy in the silent forest. Every beast for miles would hear the heralding of the bride.
Even at this Jane had remained uncertain whether the men would simply slit her throat as she lay across the sacrificial altar, or whether they would continue on with this farce. But none of her jailers approached her, and all waited in silence as dark shadows began to gather along the edges of the firelight. Jane could not tell if the looming shadows were man or beast or simply the wild imaginings of her mind. She was aware, however, that the Guard around her now looked outward toward the forest, and no longer toward her.
Only Lord Seymour still watched her, waiting for some sign at which he seemed satisfied to continue. Finding it, he pulled from some hidden place a tattered script, and began a degraded version of the traditional Catholic ceremony.
“Lady Jane Grey, Vis accipere rex bestiarum praesentem in tuum legitimum maritum juxta ritum sanctae matris Ecclesiae? ” Will you accept the King of beasts as your lawful husband according to the rite of the holy mother church?
Lord Seymour faltered on the final words, struck with the realization that he had invoked the Church into this profanity - even he knew the meaning of the words “ sanctae matris Ecclesiae” . But he said no more, awaiting Jane’s response.
Jane struggled to say the words she knew were expected of her. On the one hand, to remain silent meant a quick and near painless death. But to make this vow meant being abandoned to a likely more gruesome fate at the hands of the rogues and wild animals that inhabited these lands - or even simply to die of exposure and slow starvation. Still, there was but the tiniest chance she might find a way to free herself once she was no longer under the watchful eyes of her executioners. Jane’s optimism had always been her fatal flaw. And so she steeled herself to do the unthinkable.
“I will.”
The words came from her lips more strongly than she had thought herself capable.
Lord Seymore stepped forward, pressing into her palm an unadorned golden band. This time, he avoided any mentions of God or blessings.
“ Per anulum hunc: ut, quae eum gestaverit, fidelitatem íntegram suo sponso tenens. ” With this ring: so that she who wears it holds in complete fidelity to her bridegroom.
Jane is glad, at least, there was also no mention of love or obedience in this butchered Latin mass.
She forces out her accordance. “With this ring, I thee wed.”
A second, slightly larger ring, was placed near to her atop the stone. Lord Seymour stepped away from the makeshift altar.
The ceremony was there left incomplete, to be finished by her bridegroom in the absence of any of the so-called faithful - for to complete the ceremony would have resulted in the excommunication of Lord Seymour and all those were present. Jane felt expulsion from the Church was the least of her troubles.
Her jailers swiftly abandoned her to the night. Though she had resented their presence, she found she feared their loss in equal measure. Left alone, she had only her thoughts of impending death and the futility of escape to keep her company.
Still, she had to try. Even not knowing what awaited her outside the halo of firelight around her, she knew she must press on. She fought against the ropes that bound her wrists and ankles, but they only tightened further as she struggled. At the scrape of skin and grinding together of delicate bones, she was forced to halt her efforts.
Jane considered whether she could survive a fall from the sarsen altar. She was uncertain how high the stone rose, and what might be below - whether she would strike soft ground or jagged rock. The shadows cast by the torches surrounding her hid from her what was just below. She would have to wait until sunrise to discover it. If she survived until morning.
And so she waited, trembling in her bonds.
The night grew darker as the moon set far behind the trees. The torches dimmed to embers and smoke. The shadows grew, but Jane could no longer tell them apart through her silken veil. Out in the distance, drifted only the sounds of commonplace creatures - the nightly song of the woodcock and nightingale, the low humming and chirp of insects, the rustling of small animals. No howling of wolves or roaring of bears, no monstrous bellows.
But the silence near the stone was deafening to Jane’s ears. Something waited for her in the shadows. On hushed feet it drew nearer, distinguishable only by how it further blocked the faintness of the stars, and hid the dying embers from her view. Jane lay frozen at the evidence of its size, not knowing whether it was one or many.
Jane heard the scrape of the matching ring as it was lifted from its place on the altar, to be placed on the man’s own finger. She felt herself lifted into his arms, pressed warm against the beating of a human heart, and heard the words that would bind them together until death.
“I plight thee my troth.”

𝑻𝑳𝑫𝑹 .
there was little glory in being a the second son . it wasn't something that erren was told, as much as something he'd gathered . the first was the heir . the second child , the spare . the one to step in should the worst happen ; the shadow that the heir left behind .
erren was glad for that shadow . almost no one could see him standing right behind it .
the heir and spare had responsibilities and expectations . should the worst happen , those responsibilities and expectations would fall onto erren . he was to be prepared for that day , apparently . he was to ready himself for it .
but in that shadow erren had freedom . the eyes that settled on his siblings could barely find him there . he took advantage of that darkness to pursue his own endeavors . art . music . liquor . pleasure . adventure . the world was filled with things to see and do , things to enjoy . and erren was determined to enjoy them . determined to not turn away from this gift he was given , from the burden that his elder siblings had spared him , perhaps some would say he indulged too much . he pities them . obviously they know little of how to live.
however, his lord father and lady mother saw things differently . wished him to be different , truly . should the worst happen , they wished to have erren . and should that happen he would need to be dependable . he needed to support with military force . he needed to marry well . he needed to be this , or maybe that , and also this , and perhaps that . erren felt his hackles rise under the expectation . the teeth of a wolf bared at the sight of a cage closing in .
all erren wished was that the worst never happened . that wish came only half selfishly .
he was not meant to rule , truly . he was well aware of it . he would be a poor king of the north , and an even poorer commander of any army . he hadn't the disposition for it , no matter how his parents argued otherwise . his greatness wasn't held there . it was held in the clay between his fingers . held in the strings of his lute under his fingertips . he was not purposeless . was his fate not something he decided ?
the older they got the more eyes fell on them in winterfell . heavy with recognition . with expectation . they made his skin crawl enough for him to take the leap . to leave winterfell with little more than the clothes on his back , his direwolf and a longing for anonymity . they travelled not aimlessly , but instinctively . a coin flipped for which boat to seek passage on . a finger pointed in the direction of which winding path to take . it was a luxury his elder siblings would perhaps never be allowed, so erren did their best to savour their pleasure in it . to indulge plenty for them too .
of course , it wasn't long until he was found . until he was brought right back to winterfell to look up into the disappointed , heavy gazes of his parents once again .
and when those gazes got too heavy , when the cage closing in begin to raise his hackles once again , erren would find another friend to grant them passage . would find another adventure to escape into for the moment . or perhaps , hopefully , forever .
it never was of course . one cannot truly outrun their blood , no matter how much they may try . their wings were already clipped by the long winter which left them bound to winterfell and they knew that perhaps , eventually they would have to marry . will have to let duty shackle them even more firmly than the seasons had . but eventually is not today , and with the end of winter upon them erren feels their feet itching to race into the distance once again . so perhaps they'll indulge themself in the meantime . have fun .
after all, it would not do to waste the gift of this shadow .
𝑴𝑰𝑺𝑪 .
erren , my irresponsible king . literally should be at the club rn , but instead he is in winterfell plotting his next grand escape . truly a sweetheart , and incredibly loyal , but will be here one moment and gone the next i fear sdkjd they WILL disappear in a cloud of smoke if the opportunity arises . your local art hoe , literally out here with talent for the most useless things like considering their position . this was sparked when as a child he fell in love with the artistry of the statues in the winterfell crypt and became entirely fixated on creating something of similar greatness himself . i imagine that they skipped many a training lesson in this pursuit and were punished accordingly , but after years of practice they are able to sculpt a pretty realistic likeness out of stone . they have in fact likely made statues of all of their siblings ( the faces they know the best likely ) and as morbid as it is they hope to be able to use this talent to eventually honour them all in death . they do believe this is their purpose but idk how many would agree . made a lot of friends during their travels ( from when they were a late teenager until they were about twenty considering the long winter ) because they're genuinely quite easy to get along with as long as you're not trying to pressure them into a position of power . honestly , probably has commitment issues . is honestly a pretty decent fighter but that might be a combination of their training and sheer amount of bar fights they've gotten into so are they polished ? no . also has a direwolf named shadow bc we love like to have fun here . anyways he's quite literally here for a good time and not a long time okay < 3
𝑾𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑫 𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑵𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑺 . just something to spring off of for plotting things .
friends who he met on his travels ! enemies who he met on his travels ! people who hate him ! people who love him ! past paramours because he would have them ... perhaps some that ended on good terms , and some that ended on less than good terms . childhood friends ! a betrothed ( who he is probably incredibly reluctant over tbh ). someone he's trying to convince to run away with him because he's annoying like that . a muse would also eat ! or even someone who they give all their art too because they're honestly not going to keep it all . a also perhaps drinking buddy or someone to spar with ... and anything else ok < 33

WWF RAW MAGAZINE: February 2002
DIVA OF THE YEAR:
LITA (Fearless Beyond Belief)
To the eastern world, 2001 was recognized as the Chinese Year of the Snake, but here in the World Wrestling Federation, 2001 was the year of the daredevil WWF Diva Lita.
During2000, Lita began her meteoric rise to the top of the industry as she won the WWF Women’s Championship, and her popularity grew by leaps and bounds. Yet once she reached her crest, she was forced to share the limelight with other prominent Divas who were willing to do anything to preserve their spot. In 2001 however, Lita was able to overcome those obstacles to become not only the No. 1 Diva in sports-entertainment but perhaps the greatest of all time. Whether she was in the ring, on the cover of mainstream magazines or living it up outside the WWF as the company’s spokeswoman, Lita did it all and hooked millions of adoring fans in the process.
One of the secrets to Lita’s success is her fearless attitude; she has shown that she will fight anybody despite size or even gender differences. Lita’s athleticism is unmatched by any Superstar in the WWF, male or female. Having served as the Hardy Boyz’ eclectic valet, and also as an outside partner whenever the Hardys needed assistance, she has proven on numerous occasions that not even Superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin or Triple H can intimidate her. From bombshell blondes to technical masters to amazon women, Lita fought all comers in 2001 and broke barriers in sports-entertainment.
[With or without the Hardy Boyz, Lita was a tremendous presence in the Federation in 2001.]
Looking back, this past year was a groundbreaking, roller-coaster ride for her. The year started off normal enough for the eXtreme Diva, as she faithfully followed her longtime friends the Hardys to the ring. It wasn’t until shortly after Valentine’s Day that Lita’s career took off in a new direction. A series of stalkings by Dean Malenko wore down her resolve, making her life in the Federation a living nightmare. Whole Matt and Jeff were extremely protective of her, Lita’s independent nature made it nearly impossible for them to keep her safe. Eventually she agreed to fight Malenko one on one with the understanding that if she defeated him, their dispute would be over.
Matt proved his love for her by assisting her victory in this important match. Matt and Lita embraced, ecstatic over her monumental victory, but the post-match celebration took a stunning twist. Caught up in the moment, Matt snagged Lita in a lip-lock that caught her off-guard. When he ran away, thinking he had made a huge mistake, she ran after him and reciprocated his kiss, revealing that she too felt the same way. Lita’s romance with the elder Hardy became evident when public displays of affection graced the television screens of millions of viewers worldwide. Fans were turning in each week to see the budding romance between the pair.
Lita’s first WrestleMania was full of excitement and intrigue. In the days leading up to the spring classic, she attended a pep rally at Ft. Hood, Texas, where hundreds of soldiers and World Wrestling Federation fans converged to meet their favorite WWF Superstars. At WrestleMania X-Seven, Lita involved herself in the TLC (Tables Ladders & Chairs) II Match, and wound up receiving a Dudley Death Drop for her efforts.
Although the Hardys failed to capture the Tag Team titles, Lita helped them even the odds and made the match a little more fair.
The weeks following WrestleMania were tumultuous for her; her loyalty to Matt and Jeff wound up costing her a beating at the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Hoping to send a message to the world about just how sadistic he could be, Austin struck a helpless Lita repeatedly with a steel chair. Despite the severe thrashing she received at the hands of the Texas Rattlesnake, she persevered and even began working her way up the ladder in the Women's Division.
At Judgment Day, Lita battled Chyna for the WWF Women’s Championship. In a hard fought contest, Lita came just short of upending the “Ninth Wonder of the World,” and wound up on the losing end via a powerbomb. Not long after, Lita’s attention turned to another battle–against WCW. When the invasion began in early summer, Lita was at the front line, defending the WWF against the interlopers. In fact, she and Trish Stratus put aside their differences and teamed to battle Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson. In the end, it was Lita’s toughness that secured an important victory for the Federation and proved that the WWF’s Divas reigned supreme.
[Although their love affair was torn apart at the end of the year, the Lita/Matt Hardy pairing wowed fans in 2001.]
Throughout the year, Matt and Lita further endeared themselves to fans each time their trials and tribulations became public domain. But the audience was completely captivated as their love turned to tension. Toward the end of the year, Matt began showing interest in other women and was occasionally caught sneaking peeks at the other Divas’ goods. But when he began to wonder if his intentions were sincere. It seemed as though Matt’s personality was changing and that his love for the business was overpowering his effort toward their relationship. Not only did Matt begin mistreating Lita, he also began having frequent disagreements with his younger brother Jeff, leading to a match between the brothers at Vengeance.
Lita has proven that with or without Matt by her side, she is still capable of being the No. 1 Diva and an invaluable asset to anyone she assists.
No woman in the history of the WWF has been blessed with as much charm, talent, charisma and athletic ability as this fiery-haired fox, Fans across the globe are so mesmerized by her eXtreme beauty, that they demand her presence. This past year, Lita made several trips to the United Kingdom to spread cheer and goodwill among her loyal British fans. While in London, Lita donned a splendid “High Street” outfit and toured the town while a photographer chased after her snapping shots of the glamorous vixen.
[No woman in the history of the WWF has been blessed with as much charm, talent, charisma and athletic ability as the fiery-haired Lita. Fans are so mesmerized by her eXtreme beauty that they demanded her presence.]
When it came time to choose a Diva to grace the cover of the WWF Divas 2001 Swimsuit Magazine, Lita earned the honor. Of all the gorgeous women to appear in the special issue, she was featured prominently in what turned out to be one of the best-selling WWF items of the year.
During the summer, World Wrestling Federation Magazine created an entire special, entitled eXtreme Magazine, dedicated to Lita and the Hardy Boyz. The collectors edition featured articles about Matt, Jeff and Lita’s life outside the squared circle and let fans in on how the trio spends their time while traveling on the road. Once again, a magazine featuring Lita on the cover became a bestseller. Not surprisingly, other publications took notice of the eXtreme beauty as well. This past November, Lita appeared on the cover of the Canadian TV Guide and earlier in the year, she and the Hardys posed for a special photo shoot for Rolling Stone.
Lita and the Hardys’ popularity have also managed to reach an audience outside of sports-entertainment. In March, Matt, Jeff and Lita appeared on MTV’s Spring Break coverage, where they helped judge a bikini contest.
The trio have become so popular among teens that it’s no wonder they were asked to film a commercial for Chef Boyardee. In the ad, they had no problem demonstrating what they do best: Showing off their eXtreme style in the ring.
[Lita’s message is clear: If you believe in yourself and take advantage of opportunities, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish. After a short time in the Federation, she has risen to the top as its supreme Diva.]
In October, Lita appeared on The Weakest Link and stood her ground against some of the brightest Superstars the WWF has to offer. During the broadcast, she proved that the WWF Divas possess more than just beauty and athleticism; they also are extremely intelligent. Just recently, the Hardys and Lita appeared on Fear Factor, demonstrating how both in and out of the ring, fear is just a four-letter word.
With all that Lita has accomplished in 2001, the coming year looks to be even brighter. Now that she is widely recognized as the premier woman in sports-entertainment, it’s impossible to tell what may be next in her career. Surely she will be seen more on the airwaves as she continues to make an impact on her loyal fans.
With every Litacanrana and moonsault she executes, Lita sets an example for young women around the world. Her message is clear: if you believe in yourself and take advantage of opportunities, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish. Lita believed in herself, and after a short time in the Federation, she has risen to the top as its supreme Diva.

ON THIS DAY - 24 October 1537
On This Day (24 Oct) in 1537, Jane Seymour died at Hampton Court Palace, 12 days after giving birth to her only child, Prince Edward (later Edward VI).
Jane had retreated to Hampton Court from London in mid-September 1537 for her 'lying-in', having escaped from the plague spreading throughout London at that time. Despite no reports of a complicated pregnancy, difficulties began once Jane went into labour on 09 Oct. Her labour was prolonged, lasting approx 30 hours; a solemn procession and prayers were said for her on 11 Oct due to concerns regarding the wellbeing of herself and the child. However, at 2 in the morning, on 12 Oct, Jane delivered a highly-anticipated baby boy, named Edward. Her husband, Henry VIII had been with his own household at nearby Esher Palace, Surrey, and on the news of the birth of his son, rode the 4 miles north directly to Hampton Court.
Edward was christened on 15 Oct in a midnight ceremony at the Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace. Due to the risks of plague, attendance at the ceremony was 'limited' to 400 attendees; these included the young prince's godparents Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk and the Lady Mary; courtier John Dudley (and likely his wife Jane Guildford), and the prince's uncle Edward Seymour, Viscount Beauchamp, who was known to have carried the young Lady Elizabeth into the chapel. As was tradition, the parents did not attend the ceremony, but rather greeted the guests in the Queen's apartments prior to the procession to the chapel, and then following the completion of the ceremony. Jane participated as expected, with no signs that she was to become so unwell so soon after.
Jane started to become unwell the following afternoon on 16 Oct. She initially suffered from diarrhoea, although stated that she felt better later on. However, during the night her condition worsened, and it became clear that she was suffering from puerperal fever; Alison Weir speculates that it was likely as a consequence of a tear in her perineum during delivery. However, at the time, there were accusations that she had been 'over-indulged' by her attendants, as the understanding of childbirth and hygiene was misunderstood at the time.
Jane's condition worsened so rapidly that she was given last rites by her confessor the Bishop of Carlisle on 17 Oct; however, she appeared to improve, and so celebrations regarding Edward's birth continued. Tragically, Jane quickly became unwell again, entering into a state of delirium, before further deteriorating. On 22 Oct, Thomas Cromwell, Henry's chief minister was informed that she was dying.
At 8pm on 23 Oct, Henry was called to Jane's bedside, and remained with her throughout the night. Last rites were again delivered to her by the Bishop of Carlisle, and she passed away in the early hours of 24 Oct.
Following Jane's death, Henry 'fled' to Windsor Castle, entering into seclusion due to his grief. Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, was placed in charge of Jane's funeral and burial arrangements. Her body was embalmed on 25 Oct, with her entrails being removed and buried in the Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace. Her body was dressed in golden robes, wearing jewels and a crown, and lay in state in the presence chamber at Hampton Court, before being moved to Windsor in Nov, which was to be her final resting place.
Jane's ladies-in-waiting at this time included Mary Brandon, Lady Monteagle (Charles Brandon's daughter from his first marriage, and elder half-sister to Frances Brandon), Anne Parr, Countess of Pembroke (younger sister of Katherine Parr), and Jane Parker, Viscountess Rochford (widow of the ill-fated George Boleyn, who had been executed in May 1536 on charges of high treason), Whilst it is not known if Jane Guilford, Lady Dudley was one of her attendants, Jane is likely to have had a place in the new queen's court, as her husband's status rose. What is known is that she one of the women who accompanied Jane's coffin from Hampton Court to Windsor.

Mary I's Fight For The Throne
10th July - Mary gains an earl
While riding to meet Mary at Kenninghall, Sir John Huddlestone comes across the younger son of the Earl of Sussex, who is "on his way to the Council in London with letters from his father". 1 He captures and takes him to Mary, who is "thoroughly delighted with this arrival, just as much at the return of Huddleston, whom she greatly valued, as at the capture of the letters which revealed her enemies' plans, but especially because she hoped to be able to win over the elder Henry to her cause through his son." 2
Hearing of his kidnapped son, the Earl of Sussex hastily arrives to Kenninghall, saying he "had been too ready to believe Northumberland's son Robert about the king's death. Now, on his honour, fully persuaded of the death of his sovereign, he gave his most bounden fealty to his sovereign queen in the customary form that he would uphold her cause in future." 3
Mary sends him back to his home, ordering him to raise his troops and return.
Meanwhile...
Jane Grey is proclaimed Queen of England and enters the Tower of London. Her train is carried by her mother, the Duchess of Suffolk, but "no one present showed any sign of rejoicing, and no one cried: “Long live the Queen!” except the herald who made the proclamation and a few archers who followed him." 4
Mary is publicly "declared unfitted for the Crown, as also the Lady Elizabeth. Both ladies were declared to be bastards; and it was stated that the Lady Mary might marry a foreigner and thus stir up trouble in the kingdom and introduce a foreign government, and also that as she was of the old religion she might seek to introduce popery" by town criers on street corners. 5
Gilbert Potter, a young man, is arrested for saying Mary is the rightful queen. 6
William Paget, Marquis of Winchester, brings the crown of England for Jane Grey to try on. A family row ensues between the Grey's and Dudley's when Jane says she "should be content to make my husband a duke, but would never consent to make him king. Which resolution of mine gave his mother (this my opinion being related to her) great cause for anger and disdain, so that she, being very angry with me, and greatly displeased, persuaded her son not to sleep with me any longer as he was wont to do, affirming to me moreover that he did not wish in any wise to be a duke, but a king." 7
Thomas Hungate arrives and delivers Mary's letter to the Privy Council who are "greatly astonished and troubled. The Duchesses of Suffolk and Northumberland, it is said, began to lament and weep." 8 Hungate is then arrested, with Northumberland telling him "I am truly sorry that it was your lot to be so immature and thus rashly to throw yourself away in this embassy." 9
The Privy Council send secretaries William Petre and William Cecil to the Imperial ambassadors to inform them of Edward's death. The ambassadors "pray the Council to remember my Lady Mary, cousin german to [Charles V], to receive her into their protection and shelter her; for princes had always esteemed that kinship was one of the most powerful instruments of peace and goodwill between countries." 10
Approximately on this day, bad weather forces 5 of the 6 ships sent from London into Orwell haven. 11 The Greyhound, manned by the Duke of Northumberland's servant Gilbert Grice, sails on to Lowestoft. 12

Recap 1310 – 1319
The second decade of the fourteenth century was one of hunger, uncertainty and death. This was true for all of England and beyond and hasn’t left the population of the town of Praaven and its surroundings untouched.
But, even through all the losses they suffered, the Townsends have persevered, and have grown their family through several marriages and children. The three oldest Townsend siblings have started their own families, and although Edith is gone, her two children live on.
Despite their station, fate hasn’t been kind to the two noble families of the area, the Dudleys and the Pelhams, either, with only Ralph Dudley’s young daughter Maud as heiress to the family line after the loss of her four older siblings, while the Pelham legacy lies on the shoulders of two small boys and one little girl. Not even the Watcher knows how that will end.
But on to the recap.
The Townsend Family
Current Members: 8
In 1310, the family consists of Benedict Townsend and his six children: twin girls Anna and Edith, and after them son Benjamin, Simon, Gregory and finally third daughter Helen. The family is still reeling from losing Anne, Benedict’s wife, shortly after baby Helen’s birth. In the same year, Simon ages up into a child, and Benjamin ages up into a teenager. After those two birthdays, Anna marries her betrothed, George Crawley, and leaves her childhood home to share his family’s house in Praaven.
In 1311, Benjamin too finds romance with his childhood friend Malika, who tells him plainly that she wishes to escape serfdom. He gains her father’s blessing for their interest in each other on the day of his elder sister Edith’s wedding to William Watmore, also a serf. She, too, moves out to live with her husband; the two have acquired the Earl’s permission to farm a piece of land in the neighbouring village of Mahlsberg.
Birthdays of 1311: Helen ages up into a toddler, while Gregory ages up into a child.
In the beginning of 1312, Benjamin makes his intentions towards Malika official by asking for her hand in marriage. The couple celebrate their betrothal by having their wedding night early, which leads to a very rushed marriage when Malika falls pregnant by it. While she settles into her new home, Benjamin travels to Praaven to talk to the earl about buying the rights to an additional piece of land, which he is granted. The year ends with Malika giving birth to twins, a girl and a boy, whom they name Amye and Malcolm.
In 1313, Gregory and Simon visit Edith, who tells them about how Anna and her once tried to find the witch of Lüghaven, who may know more about Simon’s own gift of magic. While this is happening, Benjamin, who has big plans for his family, travels to the abbey of St. Wright, where his mother once lived, to learn how to read. He also teaches this skill to those in the rest of the family that are interested. Spurred on by their brother’s success, Simon and Gregory travel to the abbey to learn how to paint. Gregory does so, while Simon is held off by a mysterious woman named Elea who he feels inexplicably drawn to. She seems surprised by him but tells him they will meet again.
This season’s harvest also turns out to be meagre due to constant cold. As Benedict had spent some years making a living as a carpenter in addition to farming, this doesn’t affect the Townsends too badly. In fact, they have enough money left over to start building a cottage on their new piece of land.
The weather doesn’t improve in 1314, neither for the Townsends nor for anyone else, and people are already starting to fear food shortages. Despite this, the twins age up into toddlers, while Malika falls pregnant once more, and gives birth to a little boy named Duncan later in the year. After that, the Townsends bring in a small harvest, which they hope will tide them over the coming months.
By 1315, nothing at all is growing due to the bad weather, and while the Townsend have food put by, it won’t hold out if the famine that is now starting to develop lasts for a long time. They get a distraction in the form of a visit by the same woman that Simon had met at the abbey two years before, who reveals that she is a witch and wants to train him once his magic grows. At the end of the year, young Helen ages up into a child.
Sadly, baby Duncan doesn’t cope well with the malnourishment, and becomes the family’s first famine victim at barely a year old. This tempers Malika’s joy at finding herself with child again by the end of the year.
In 1316, Malika gives birth to a little girl named Joan. Sadly, the deprivations Malika suffered during her pregnancy cause the baby to be born very frail, so that she dies after only two months. At around the same time, Edith’s husband William dies, and the family takes her, pregnant with her second child, and her little daughter Elsie in. A few months later, her son, Wilfred, is born. The pregnancy leaves Edith very weak.
The year 1317 begins with Edith’s death; sadly, she hasn’t been able to recuperate from Wilfred’s birth. The Townsends vow to raise Elsie and Wilfred, now orphaned, in their parents’ stead. A few months later, Simon turns 13, and moves out to begin his apprenticeship with Elea, which means living with her and her daughter Mariora. Later in the year, an epidemic sweeps the countryside and carries many off with it, among them Helen, Benedict’s youngest child. She is the final famine victim in the Townsend household.
In 1318, Gregory meets a girl named Agnes at the abbey, where she lives, when he goes there to paint. She’s the illegitimate daughter of a sister that had died during the epidemic of the previous year. A few months later, little Wilfred ages up into a toddler, and at the end of the year, Malcolm, Amye and Elsie all age up into children. Gregory, now a teenager, also makes the acquaintance of a merchant from Praaven who is impressed with his painting skills.
In 1319, Malika becomes pregnant once more. Winter finally ends, which means that not only can the Townsends start to farm again, but they also have to say goodbye to Elsie and Wilfred, who move back to the farm in Mahlsberg, which has been taken over by their father’s brothers, to help them work the land. At the end of the year, Malika gives birth to another set of twins, whom they name Frank and Adeline.
The Witches’ Coven
Current Members: 1
This household is established in 1317, when Simon Townsend moves into the Ellesmeres’ hidden dwelling to be apprenticed by Elea in matters of witchcraft. Elea is a mysterious woman, far too young-looking, and seems to pursue her own ends in taking in Benjamin.
They live with her daughter Mariora, who is only slightly older than Simon. She warns him that he better know what he is doing, throwing in his lot with witchcraft, when he arrives; she herself does not have the gift of magic.
Not much else of note happens in this household; the longer he lives with her, however, the more Simon feels drawn to Mariora. He even tells his father on a visit to the Townsend farm in 1319 that he has thoughts of courting her.
The Crawley Family
Current Members: 4
Established in 1310, the Crawley Household comes to be when Anna Townsend marries George Crawley and moves into his family home on Praaven’s Castle Hill District. This is quite a change in circumstances for a girl who has grown up on a farm, but she does her best to adjust.
She becomes pregnant quickly after the marriage and tells her family of her coming child on a visit in 1311. Sadly, her little girl is born prematurely, and dies only a day the birth.
A year later, in 1312, Anna finds herself with child again. Luckily, this time around, her daughter, who they name Annette, is born strong and healthy.
She is pregnant again in 1313, much to the amusement of George’s younger sister Caroline, whom Anna has become good friends with. Sadly, the family’s hopes that this child will be healthy like Annette are dashed, and her son is stillborn.
In 1314, the Crawleys celebrate Annette’s aging up into a toddler. A few months later, the Countess of Petersmarch brokers a marriage between her widowed brother and Caroline, much to the family’s joy. Only Caroline is heartbroken, because she had been considering marriage with a merchant’s son whom she truly cared for. Cared for so much, in fact, that she had shared his bed; she confesses this and the news that she is pregnant to Anna. To save her from dishonour, Anna proposes a scheme to go away for a while, so they’ll be able to claim Caroline’s child as Anna’s.
Their plan works, and they return to Praaven with Caroline’s little girl, Theodora, in 1315 with no one the wiser. It is hard on Caroline, of course, especially when she leaves Praaven a few months after their return to marry the baron’s son as arranged, but at least her honour is intact.
The Crawleys suffer under the famine like everyone else but there are no deaths in their family.
In 1316, little Theodora ages up into a toddler. Other than the brown hair she inherited from her mother, she takes after her father a lot, and Anna and George (whom she had taken into her confidence as a matter of conscience) hope fervently that no one will question this.
In 1318, Annette ages up into a child, closing out the decade’s events for the Crawleys.
The Watmore Family
Current Members: 2
This household was created in 1311, when Edith Townsend married William Watmore, and moved to Mahlsberg onto a piece of land granted to them by the Earl to make a new life there with him.
Pregnancy follows marriage swiftly, and in 1312, Edith gives birth to a little girl, whom they name Elsie, after William’s mother.
Baby Elsie ages up into a toddler in 1314. By this time, Edith and William, who are only poor serfs and don’t have any provisions stocked, are very worried about the food situation, but vow to themselves that they will make sure their daughter has enough to eat, even if they don’t.
They get a bit of support from Edith’s father as the famine lengthens, but with so many mouths to feed on the Townsend farm, he can’t spare much.
Despite her malnourishment, Edith becomes pregnant again in 1316, much to the worry of her family, who has noticed how thin she has become. The constant deprivation takes a toll on her husband, who falls ill and dies. After his burial, Edith seeks shelter on her father’s farm with her daughter, while her brothers-in-law take over the farm in Mahlsberg. At the end of the year, Edith gives birth to a little boy she names Wilfred in remembrance of his father.
Sadly, in the beginning of 1317, Edith passes away due to the strain of Wilfred’s birth. He and Elsie are raised by the Townsends after that, and age up into a toddler (Wilfred) and a child (Elsie) in 1318. Both of them, but especially Elsie, form close bonds with their aunt/uncles and cousins.
When spring arrives in 1319, the two Watmore children return to Mahlsberg to help their uncles farm the land that had been meant for Edith and William, in hopes of bringing in a proper harvest this time around.
Robert Townsend, the squire
Current Members: 1
As the decade begins, Robert, at age 9, has been serving as a page to Sir Silas Ellesmere, the captain of the Earl’s guard, for two years. In 1311, he attends the marriage of his elder half-brother the Earl in this function. He is noticed by the new Countess in the coming months; they both like art, so she decides to take him on as her own page for the company, somewhat to the dismay of her brother-in-law Clement.
In 1313, Robert turns thirteen years old, and moves on from page to squire, a position he will hold until he can be dubbed a knight at age 21.
In 1315, he meets Katheryn Deane while he practices his archery, whom he is instantly attracted to, especially when she starts flirting with him brazenly. It is only when the Countess arrives that he learns that she is actually Lady Katheryn Deane, a cousin of the Countess and herself daughter of an earl. Robert realizes immediately that their difference in station means that he would never be considered as a match for her.
Despite this, the two of them spend much time together and grow close, enough so that in 1316, they share their first kiss. Robert apologizes profusely, but Katheryn assures him that all she wants is a bit of fun, and that provided they are discreet, no one will be harmed by it.
Their hopes are dashed in 1317, when the Earl announces that he has arranged a betrothal between his younger brother Clement and Katheryn. Robert is heartbroken despite his assertions that he’d always known that their romance couldn’t last, and tries to break their relationship off, but it is the perspective of losing him that makes Katheryn realize that she has come to truly care for him, too. They kiss and don’t part ways, but deep down, they both know it can’t last.
After Clement and Katheryn’s marriage, the Earl sets his matchmaking sight on Robert in 1319. As a low-born bastard, they shouldn’t be good, but the prospect of the Earl’s favour and Robert’s knighthood makes the de Bellefaye family, of French noble stock and residents of the town, amenable to negotiations. Their daughter, Elisaria, is only 14, but Robert finds her very sweet-natured and lovely and decides to agree to the match. When he tells a heavily pregnant Katheryn of this and breaks off what is left of their relationship, she is enraged, but he doesn’t feel he has any other choice.
It is agreed between the Earl and the de Bellefayes that Robert and Elisaria will marry once he has been given his knighthood.
The Dudley Family
Current Members: 7
At the beginning of the decade, the noble house of Dudley consists of Ralph Dudley, the Earl of Petersmarch, his brother Clement, his sisters Lady Elizabeth and Lady Gwendolen and his mother, also Elizabeth, the former Countess. Ralph is also betrothed to Mary Pelham, the youngest child of Baron Elbenhawke.
At the beginning of 1310, Gwendolen ages up into a child, which is followed a few months later by Clement aging up into a teenager.
The Dudley-Pelham wedding takes place in 1311, after which Ralph’s mother departs from Praaven with her daughters, to take up residence in the Dudley’s country estate while the new Lady Petersmarch settles into her role. She soon becomes pregnant, and, because she feels lonely, takes her husband’s bastard half-brother on as her page, which he allows, much to Clement’s dissatisfaction.
In the following year, 1312, Lady Petersmarch gives birth to a healthy son and heir named Arthur, much to everyone’s joy.
A second son, named Nathaniel, follows in 1314. Sadly, when the Dowager Countess and her daughters come to town to visit this newest member of the family, they bring illness with them; little Nathaniel and Lady Elizabeth (his aunt) both succumb to it. In the aftermath of those tragic losses, Clement decides to accompany his mother and remaining sister back to their country seat to get some distance from the castle.
In 1315, Lady Petersmarch gains a companion in the form of a distant cousin, Lady Katheryn Deane.
In 1316, tragedy strikes again when Lady Petersmarch gives birth to a stillborn son.
In 1317, Lady Petermarch gives birth to another child, a daughter this time, whom they name Alicent. Unfortunately, the tragedies that have been hounding the Dudleys for years continue, and the epidemic that sweeps the countryside that year kills both Alicent and five-year old Arthur, which not only leaves the countess shattered, but also the earldom without an heir. To prevent this, Lord Petersmarch arranges a marriage between his brother Clement and his wife’s companion Katheryn, unaware about the romance between her and his bastard half-brother. Lady Gwendolen ages up into a teenager that year.
The marriage takes place in 1318, and Lady Katheryn becomes pregnant soon after. Sadly, her daughter is stillborn the following year. The Countess fares better, and gives birth to a healthy baby girl, Maud, at the end of 1318, leaving her the sole heiress of the earldom as the decade ends.
The Pelham Family
Current Members: 5
As the decade begins, the family consists of Peter Pelham, Baron Elbenhawke, his son and heir Richard, his daughter Mary, and Richard’s betrothed, Lady Elinor Mowbray.
In 1310, Richard and Lady Elinor are married, in hopes that their union will finally provide the heir the barony needs.
In 1311, Mary, too, weds, which makes her the Countess of Petersmarch. Accordingly, she moves out of her family home, Elbenhawke Hall, into the Dudley seat, Praaven Castle.
In 1313, Lady Elinor finally gives birth to her first child, the son and heir they had all been hoping for. They name the child Richard, after his father.
A second pregnancy follows quickly in 1314, with disastrous consequences: due to birth complications, both Lady Elinor and her little girl die, leaving Richard bereft and with only his small son as heir. Even while mourning, the Pelhams start looking for another bride, and (after some help from Mary) approach the prosperous Crawley family, which has an unwed daughter, Caroline. The betrothal is accepted. At the end of the year, Little Richard ages up into a toddler.
The Pelham-Crawley wedding takes place in 1315, after Caroline returns from a long trip she had taken with her brother’s wife, Anna. The new lady of the house bonds well with her stepson, although her marriage remains a bit distant. She and Richard the elder do their duty, however, and she becomes pregnant soon after the marriage.
In 1316, Caroline gives birth to a healthy son named David. A daughter, Josephine, follows in 1317.
Then, tragedy strikes once again. A few months after Josephine’s birth, Richard goes hunting, and is gravely wounded in an ill-fated encounter with a boar. He is rushed back to Elbenhawke Hall, but it is soon clear that there is nothing to be done for him. He dies that night. Afterwards, Lord Elbenhawke asks Caroline to remain the lady of the house, even if she will not be baroness.
In 1319, Josephine ages up into a toddler, and Richard Jr. ages up into a child, ending the decade on an at least somewhat hopeful mood for the Pelhams.
And that is the end of the recap.
The 1310s have certainly been eventful, and at times I felt a bit overwhelmed with the management of it all. I have played the challenge before, but back then I didn't switch households as much, and let the Story Progression Mod do much of the management for me. It’s been fun to be more involved, in a way, but also stressful. That wasn’t helped by the extra management of the famine years.
But the famine is in the past now (although in real history, its effects lasted into the 1320s), and at least as far as event rules are concerned, there won’t be anything happening in the following decade. Historically, there was much turmoil, of course, due to the strife between King Edward II, his lords and Queen Isabella, which eventually led to Edward being dethroned and his subsequent death. I may mention that in regard to the nobles, but don’t plan on inventing any new rules to see if they are affected by it.
Either way, the future will be interesting.

[ he/him, cis man ] greetings to all of our listeners! we start today’s potterwatch with a long-awaited update on harry james potter who was finally spotted alive just last night, wandering the streets of london. for those of you who haven’t tuned in before, they are a 51 year old half-blood wizard who is oddly reminiscent of a past that haunts you, atlas holding the weight of the world, an old pair of glasses, snow falling on the ground, and holding onto the light, which makes sense considering their resilient, selfless, protective, stubborn, solitary, and wrathful nature. you might know of them as the biological child of lily evans and james potter, and we’re sure that their family will be relieved to hear they’re safe and sound — or at least as much as you can be, in times like this. to all our listeners, if you catch a glimpse of someone who looks a bit like that muggle matthew goode, that’s them. before approaching, please be aware that they’re rumored to be affiliated with the order of the phoenix so best proceed with caution. these are dangerous times we’re living in. well, thanks for tuning in, folks. we’ll play ourselves out with nightcall by london grammar. [ jess, 27, she/her, aest ]

MAGICAL RELEVANCE
Blood Status: Half-blood Hogwarts House: Gryffindor Wand: As he never got the Elder Wand from Voldemort at the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry was unable to repair his old beloved holly and phoenix feather wand. He had a new one made out of mahogany and dragon heartstring. Patronus: Stag Boggart: The bodies of his children, reflecting his fear that they will be the next to die for him, because of him Strengths: Defensive magic, duelling, charms, flying Alliance: formerly Dumbledore’s Army / currently the Order of the Phoenix, leader
PERSONAL
Style: Casual and thoughtless, it’s not a priority for Harry. Used to wearing Dudley’s second-hand clothes while growing up, Harry still tends to dress Muggle. Plain t-shirts and jeans, usually paired with flannels or jumpers, dull and faded colours - he generally wears his clothes out. Nor does he take very good care of his glasses, often forgetting to clean them and leaving them fingerprint stained, much as his wand usually is. Habits: He rubs his forehead when thinking, a habit formed from when his scar pains him, though due to his practice and mastery of Occlumency (necessary to protect the Order from Voldemort), his scar does not do so often anymore. Avoids most physical touch with other people. Turns away when people stare at his scar. Often kicks inanimate objects when angered or frustrated. Keeps his wand on him at all times, always wary and never fully relaxes; those close to him generally notice the tenseness in his shoulders. Scars: Famous lightning scar on forehead. Oval shaped burn mark on his chest from the locket. Lingering remnants of ‘I must not tell lies’ on his wrist, faded scarring. Traits: +resilient, selfless, quick-witted, intuitive, noble, brave, forgiving, empathetic, protective, fair-minded -stubborn, solitary, condemnatory, quick-tempered, obsessive, defiant, partisan, wrathful, reckless, uncommunicative, violent
BIOGRAPHY
At the failed Battle of Hogwarts, Harry begged his friends and allies to stand down. Blaming himself for their losses, he couldn’t stand to see anyone else fall and organized the retreat to safehouses. Utterly devasted by the loss of Hagrid in particular, he felt entirely responsible for the deaths of some of his dearest friends, Professor McGonagall and Mr and Mrs Weasley especially. Having found the bodies of Remus and Tonks he was also desperate to find Teddy Lupin and ensure his safety.
Having retreated to the Order’s first safehouse, Harry remained there for some time, regrouping with Ron and Hermione and looking after Teddy. He was now truly an outcast, but what was worse was feeling responsible for all the deaths, for seeing Voldemort grow stronger and stronger, casting the world into darkness - and knowing it was all because he had failed. He had let down Dumbledore. Sirius. His parents. Everyone who had given their lives for him.
At first the horcux hunt remained his main goal, but soon the horcruxes had to take a lower priority. At that point in the war, they weren’t even keeping even with Voldemort; Death Eater control was total and the Order could no longer play the offensive and go after horcruxes when they were so desperately needed to try and stop the slaughter. Though Harry was deeply torn, he found it impossible to prioritse some abstract ideal of “the greater good” when there were so many people being murdered. He decided to ignore Dumbledore’s voice in his head, and the Order switched into prioritising getting Muggles and Muggle-borns out of danger and the horcruxes fell somewhat to the wayside. Harry still doesn't know that he himself is a horcrux, tethering Voldemort to life.
In time, Harry and Ginny would also grow back into their relationship and have children of their own: James, Albus and Lily. Having a family to protect was the source of Harry’s greatest happiness and the very worst of his terror. Every night he struggled to sleep, haunted by the fear that his failures would destroy them and that he would lose his children in this fight, as he has lost almost every person he has ever loved. Not just lost them, had to live with the fact that they died for him. There was a part of him that wanted nothing more than to send them far away from him, where they would be safe from the damage Harry wreaks across the lives of all those he touches. He has always attempted to keep them out of the fight as much as possible.
Harry’s first kill was on a rescue mission, when he came up against John Dawlish, an Auror that Harry had long disagreed with and despised for his blind loyalty to the Ministry and its worse policies. Harry’d had no other choices in the moment but to send a Killing Curse at Dawlish in order to save the lives of a Muggle family. Knowing Dawlish had turned made it easier - or it would have, except that Harry couldn’t be sure Dawlish hadn’t been placed under the Imperius Curse and now, he would never know. He was also haunted by the Confundus Charm placed on Dawlish by the Order to protect Harry’s escape from Privet Drive, which may have made Dawlish more susceptible to the Imperius. He can never be sure that what he did was the right thing, but it was done, and couldn’t be undone. The family was saved, and if Harry had blood on his hands, had torn apart his soul in the act, it was only going to get worse from here. He accepted that going forwards, there would be no other choice.
After the first kill, it became easier. At first Harry’s stipulation to the order was to kill only when necessary, when there was no other choice, a rule that also applied to general use of the Unforgivable curses (excepting the Cruciatus), but as the war went on and things became darker, there became less and less choice. They were fighting a war, a war in which Voldemort had total control, and the only way to truly fight back was to kill. It was a burden that Harry would prefer to carry himself, or at least for the older members of the Order. Current orders are that they are to attempt to keep the younger members from having to kill unless absolutely necessary. He usually sends those younger members on defensive rescue missions or to steal supplies, though it’s not always possible.
Harry is committed full-time to leading the Order, primarily in rescue missions, but the horcrux quest remains on the backburner when possible. He has never given up on the hope of destroying Voldemort once and for all, but there has always been very little chance of doing so when it’s a struggle to even just keep their own people alive.

Lucas explained his idea to the girls.
"I'm getting older and I won't want to keep working forever. Talia, I know you want to get into the Culinary career properly. So here's my thought: I'm going to transfer the diner over to you so you have your own restaurant business to build up. All I'd ask is that you keep me on as your employee until I wish to retire fully.
Verity, the diner is currently worth about §40,000, so I'll give you the monetary equivalent so that you can start your own business one day if you want to. I have the money now because I got a business grant; just remember it has to be used for business purposes or they can reclaim it!
How does all that sound to you both?"
The girls were speechless for a moment.
Talia was the first to respond. "Thank you, Dad! That sounds amazing! And of course I'll keep you on - as long as you want!"
Verity hugged him. "Thanks Dad. Can you keep hold of the money for me until I need it? I don't know what business I would open right now and I trust you to keep it for me."
Plans agreed, Lucas signed the diner over to Talia and they all said good night.
The next morning, Lucas had the day off - something he'd agreed with his daughter the previous evening - so he spent the day at home sorting out chores he had neglected for a while and spending time with Buddy.
Buddy aged up to an Elder dog! He's into his last few years (days) of life now as I use a 'realistic' pet lifespan that also uses 1 day for 1 year.
Noticing the change in his beloved pet, Lucas spent more time playing with him and vowed to try not to abandon him so much going forward.
And that was the end of the round! It was pretty short - single Sims always are - but helped me to speed up the rotation a little bit, which was good!
The next family is the Rossellinis (Pietro and Dudley). Let's go!
