some works from the women abstract expressionist painters of New York 1950s - from top, Elaine de Kooning's 'Bullfight', Joan Mitchell'c 'City Landscape', Lee Krasner's 'Celebration', Helen Frankenthaler in her studio surrounded by her works, and Grace Hartigan's 'Red Bowl'.
the women abstract expressionists are very underrated and also fascinating, I read a book about them called ninth street women it was really good. i do not own images I pulled them off the internet.
also friendly reminder most of these paintings are massive, like meters long.
#i just love these they are so full of colour and energy#elaine de kooning#joan mitchell#lee krasner#helen frankenthaler#grace hartigan#abstract expressionism
