i actually have a really crazy hc of Karya where like. theres a huge difference in his chest when he's in uniform and out of uniform, and what i think the reason for that is like. in the field a few years ago he got into a huge accident that caused a really bad rib injury.

so when they were younger (around 25?) geetha made him an adjustment to his agent suit, where its a binder that would work around his injury, but he can really only wear it in MATA.

speaking of geetha they're childhood friends. like they both went to the same all girls school as kids n were the first people that they came out to.

naturally suave, with guys and girls and everyone else.

he has not drank water for the past 12 years

he wasn't close with any of the pillar leaders, nor does he wanna be.

he does listen to rock but not really heavy metal. more like regal rock? if that makes sense??

he doesn't really have any desire to have kids or anything but he can take care of one pretty well

god honest, ejen ali is my favourite local cartoon (other than boboiboy)

ejen ali is actually darker than you’d expect and the world building is fucking splendid. the character development is amazing and noticeable throughout the show and movie. the character designs are fucking phenomenal and the flavour of the weapon designs are *chef kiss*. the movie made me cry and the animation of it is absolutely stunning (i wonder if there’s an artbook, i would love one).

of course there’s some cliches here and there but overall it’s such a beautiful show to watch as both a kid and an adult now.

if there’s someone out there interested in malaysian animation, ejen ali is a good start. (puteri and boboiboy are close seconds)

Headcanons for the mentors

• Bakar and Geetha are besties and also gossip around mata

• Bakar struggle to sleep most of the times

• Bakar was also the one to made Ali room

• Leon is actually a kind person after his work hours

• Karya used to be a vigilante in a shady company ig before he joined Mata

• Karya is the only one who actually has a healthy relationship with his parents

• Geetha grew up in dysfunction home so she became the hero role in the family

• Bakar started to have hallucinations after his sister death

• They (platonically) cuddle sometimes when something really traumatizing happens

• Bakar only sleeps in boxers most of the time and Leon has accidentally seen him in it a couple times

• Bakar is the only one that's an early bird

• Bakar saw his sister die in front of his eyes and blame himself for it even after it was revealed she was technically murdered

• During when Karya was still a vigilante, he got in a 1v1 with Bakar , Bakar didn't try to fight and only wanted to get him to the general because of his skills , Karya didn't trust him and ended up slicing Bakar in the stomach and till this day , he still feels terribly guilty for it despite Bakar already forgave him like hundreds of time now

• Bakar has lots of bruises and cuts ( healed)

• Leon get stressed in his job because of the neuro ejens shenanigans

• Leon listen to Bakar hyper fixation most of the time ( Bakar has ADHD)

• Leon deeply worries about Bakar despite how his hatred for him is showed in the comic

Karya from animated show, Ejen Ali 

It’s a Malaysian animated series. Really good btw, for those who want to check it out. It’s on Netflix and Youtube in Malaysia but I’m not sure if it’s available in other countries as well. It also recently released a feature film late last year, and was super good.

The show is about a boy who got roped into becoming an agent for a secret organization that helps to keep the city safe because of a device called IRIS, an intelligent device in the form of visors/sunglasses. He meets all kinds of characters and learns to be a better agent despite being “forced” into it.

This character only appeared in season 2 (which is the latest season), but he’s one of my favorites. Firstly, he’s one of the few adult characters. And he’s a mentor or like a teacher to the younger agents. He has a chill, kind personality and he’s into magic and incorporating it into his super agent work. And he’s not bad to the eyes. At least for me haha.
