and as for the show it was not what I expected at all!! idk if you know lockwood and co but I was kind of expecting a duplicate but it went in a completely different direction and was super good!! It kind of has it all AHFHD like goth gays, edwardian gays, cats, witches, ghosts, angst, scooby doo references, THE CUTEST PLATONIC GIRL BOY RELATIONSHIP, cool women, mainly poc cast, animated flashback segments, AND EVEN a very good soundtrack

For me, the platonic relationships were the star of the show NOT EVEN JUST THE ONE IM OBSESSED WITH but there were so many dynamics between characters I didn't expect and even just the kindness that the main characters give to others and the kindness they receive back? I don't know that I'm explaining it properly without spoilers LOL

In any case, I wholeheartedly recommend it

whiny supplement to my mentally well adjusted post from August that’s making the rounds: the biggest and most unfair bullshit of being alive is that accomplishing one enormously difficult task doesn’t immediately remove all the not that difficult but numerous tasks from your to do list. that the mundane tasks of being alive don’t poof out of existence when you perform a Herculean effort is horseshit. I should be getting store credit in the karmic shop of life. I woke up at 5 am to haul 15 buckets of water across a park in the middle of a drought, what do you mean I still have to do dishes
