Pedro boys smoker matrix
Tumblr media
Friendly discussion and even fiery debate welcome as always! 🔥
I'm back! In true Cee fashion, this idea attacked me from nowhere and I couldn't stop until I was done. This was so much fun to put together, and I have many thoughts to share under the cut.

Chain smoker
Javier
The OG who makes these sucking on these cancer sticks look sexy AF, he is the only one out of the Pedro boys who deserves this accolade. Whether he's lighting up, talking around a cigarette, staring into space smoking on one - it doesn't matter what he's doing with it, he sells it.
Stress smoker
Tim Rockford, Dave York, Marcus Pike, Maxwell Lord
I wanted to put Tim in the chain smoker category, I'm convinced this stressed detective easily smokes a pack a day, but since we weren't treated to any evidence of his smoking habits, I decided to put him in this one instead. The others are pretty self-explanatory given the nature of their jobs, but can I just say - I would kill for a glimpse of Dave York smoking.
Social smoker
The Thief, Max Phillips, Nico, SNL Charlie
You know these guys wouldn't miss the chance to schmooze, especially over a cigarette.
Weed only
Dieter Bravo, Ezra, Oberyn Martell, Javi Gutierrez
I mean, if they had weed in Westeros, Oberyn would be all over it, it fits right in with his lifestyle. Both Dieter and Javi do recreational drugs in the movies, and Ezra? He gives the vibes that he grows his own weed.
Quit after kids
SNL Meemaw, Joel Miller, Frankie Morales, Jack Daniels
Don't @ me, Jack didn't lose his baby and his wife, he had two more kids and is living happily ever after 😭 We saw Joel's reaction to Tommy smoking, and I like to think that Frankie quit smoking and drugs after his baby arrived. And you just know that Meemaw used to smoke cos she's badass.
Never smoked
Din Djarin, Pero Tovar, Edward, Ricky Hauk
Din for obvious reasons of his religion, and Pero because I did some *research* and the movie is set in the early 11th century, which is before tobacco was introduced to Spain or China. But I just know that Pero would be a chain smoker in another life. It's so much fun including the two baby P's in this compilation - I've never watched Buffy or Touched by an Angel, but you can't convince me these two literal angels have ever touched a cigarette.

A really long article about the twists and turns of this project - including Tom’s involvement.
Upon the completion of this draft, which addressed both the project’s artistic and commercial concerns (“Imagine if I took the graphic novel and melded it with what Alex Proyas did.”), this iteration of The Crow secured its leading man. “We went out and immediately got Tom Hiddleston, right off the cuff,” Mr. Dorfman tells us. Mr. Gutierrez reveals that he’d met with numerous actors beforehand, from the very moment he’d boarded the project: “This was not a typical process for a movie. We were working with actors from day one. I met actors when I arrived on the project. We considered James McAvoy for a time. He was one of the more ‘name’ choices the studio was exploring. I met with every single actor in town, it was insane. Down the road, I talked with Tom Hiddleston, who was an actor I loved. He was not that well known at the time. He had just made the first Avengers movie. He was really passionate about the role.”
Beyond casting, Mr. Gutierrez was looking at pulling together the various facets of the production as well. “I approached Rick Baker to do the makeup, and the Skull Cowboy. I love Rick Baker. I approached Bo Welch as production designer, who did Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, and others. And I approached and had a very cool dinner with Atticus Ross, because I was excited about bringing the songs of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to the movie’s soundtrack. I was trying to do something very dark, but very good, and Rated R. There was no way this could be a PG-13. Just make another movie. But the producers were very supportive of this. We were scouting in different areas, like New Orleans, and then later the U.K. Unfortunately, the process was very long…”
“I’m not sure why Hiddleston dropped out,” Mr. Dorfman says, discussing the actor’s exit from the project. “But immediately after, we had Luke Evans. We were just thrilled. Dracula [Untold] was just coming out from Universal. Luke is a very special actor. I think he would’ve been the absolute perfect Crow. He had the precise amount of vulnerability versus power, love versus hate. He had all of those emotions at the tips of his fingers, and right behind his eyes. Wasn’t like Tom wouldn’t have been great, he would’ve been amazing. And then we thought, ‘Oh shit! Luke! We’re lucky again!’ Like, ‘Maybe this project isn’t cursed! Maybe this project is really supposed to go!’”
Mr. Gutierrez agrees. “I got to know Luke Evans. What I love about him – not only is he a talented actor, but he was very sensitive. He’s a beautiful soul. I thought that would make him a good match. And he was a fresh face at the time.”

THE MAD HATTER - Review
DISTRIBUTOR: Blue Fox Entertainment
Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS:  Henry and three classmates join their professor for a weekend psychology study at a legendary mansion, supposedly haunted by those who died at a lavish party given by the ‘Mad Hatter’ in the 1880s. Henry is hopeful that the study will cure him of his horrific nightmares about the drowning of his sister but as the weekend progresses, the students begin to question their own sanity as one by one, they disappear.
REVIEW: When you see the name of the legendary horror icon Michael Berryman listed in the credits you know you’re in for a horror film.
THE MAD HATTER combines a couple of genre themes in the narrative. You have the central figure of the Hatter who is kind of a Freddy Kruger or Jason type. Also, there is an aspect to the character of the Hatter that is reminiscent of the antagonist from “The Legend of Hill House,” as well as the mansion itself. Then there is Henry who seems to be similar to Eleanor from “The Haunting.” All in all, while the concept of the Hatter, which clearly seems lifted from “Alice in Wonderland,” as a horror figure is a bit different the rest of the surrounding elements seem very familiar.
The character of Henry is somewhat sympathetic, but I never felt connected with him. Likewise, Chelsey is for the most part likeable but seemed superficial and presented nothing for me to latch onto. His fellow classmates were obnoxious stereotypes who I was patiently biding my time until they met their demise, which I greeted with cheering. Although I was glad to see Michael Berryman in the film I feel he was underutilized. He is a lurking presence in the film, much in the way Boris Karloff skulked about in 1932’s “The Old Dark House,” but Berryman simply did have the menacing presence he can bring to a role.
THE MAD HATTER is the feature directorial debut of Cate Devaney. Previously, Cate began her career in film as a storyboard artist. As such the film has a lyrical flow to the visual narrative that keeps the viewer engaged. There are times when the film is focused on characters and it draws the viewer in, or other times there are these beautifully constructed dream/nightmare sequences. However, there were times when there were these large empty spaces and rooms that made me feel like a spectator and I lost my connection to the narrative. There were moments such as the party scene, where I felt I was watching a spectacle and was disconnected in much the same way with some of Tim Burton’s films.
THE MAD HATTER is an independent horror film that is technically executed with a clear level of skill and precision. There are some interesting costumes, some good cgi effects, and a visually interesting location. The story and characters feel like a “paint by numbers” genre tale that needed some sort of spark or insight to make it stand out. At least some fresher or more developed contemporary characters to make it stand out.

HSHQ TASK THIRTY THREE —– NEXT GEN. house stuart-windsor
HRH crown prince arthur ( ryan guzman )
HRH princess helena ( julia goldani telles )
HRH princess victoria ( amanda arcuri )
HRH prince william ( froy gutierrez )
if a future with ennio and catherine is hypothetical, a future where arthur and catherine are civil ( let alone married with kids! ) is downright impossible. but yet here we are. catherine would insist that they join their house names, and arthur agreed only if windsor still remained the face. the official branch of house windsor was technically called stuart-windsor, but colloquially people still referred to the them as house windsor of great britain.
crown prince arthur edward douglas ( a r t i e )
the first born, a strong child that arthur had moulded with his own two hands. artie had no chance of rebelling, absolutely no point in treading upon a path that was not predestined for him. not only did little artie inherit his father’s features and colouring -- there was only a mere  hint of catherine in his smile -- he also inherited his father’s stellar reputation with the people, very much following in his father’s footsteps ever since he could remember. catherine and arthur had artie within the year of their marriage, knowing full well that an heir of an heir only cemented the future of nation, he was an only child for almost six years, growing up lonely, with only an army of tutors as company. he inherited his parents’ strength, and was painfully aware of the criticism and distrust that the public had of his scottish mother, which prompted him to exaggerate his ‘english identity’, barely visiting scotland despite his title as duke of rothesay. ambitious and ruthless, he was everything that arthur ever wanted, a feat that was easily seen even from childhood. it was the main reason why arthur believed it superfluous to have any more children.
princess helena sophia lilidh ( l e n a )
catherine won the argument in the end. little artie was arthur son, hardly her’s, and she wanted nothing more than to have a little baby that would belong to her, and not the crown. however, it was soon evident that helena had no desire in being her mother’s favourite. despite the six year difference, lena followed her big brother around and began to copy his mannerisms, she soon became a serious little thing who wanted nothing more than to sit in on her brother’s history lessons, shadowing him when he shadowed their father during military tactical meetings. wherever artie was, lena followed -- and catherine would feel herself bursting with pride at her two ambitious children if it wasn’t for how soft she became after her pregnancies. perhaps it was her way of being complacent, for arthur had left her to her own devices during her pregnancies, keeping her under lock and key in order to protect his unborn heirs -- she was not the same girl who rushed to parliament every day, who argued dignitaries on trade deals until they were unable to refuse. this new catherine, older and tired, wanted a child who might leave the politics and accompany her on long walks around the castle grounds. she did not find this in helena.
princess victoria eleanor daviana  ( v i c )
however, she did find a companion in victoria. born a mere year after helena ( a complete accident, arthur was all hopped up in champagne after a particular political success ), victoria was the first child who inherited most of her mother’s features. catherine was comforted when her elder daughter would run after her brother, the younger princess would stay by her mother’s side, as bright as the morning sun. she had been a sweet baby, never one to fuss or demand to be spoilt, it was obvious to whoever was looking that victoria was catherine’s favourite. she accompanied her mother in her trips of scotland, an outgoing and friendly presence behind her harsher older siblings. out of all of the royal children, victoria was the favourite of the north, beloved in their social circles, the scots even went so far as call her ‘the stuart of the family’, a title that her mother now had to share. ( which she did so, gladly ). catherine felt complete with victoria by her side, and was content with her little corner of their growing family.
prince william charles douglas ( w i l l s )
but the family didn’t stop growing, only it wasn’t what anyone might expect. arthur and catherine barely touched each other unless it was expressively agreed that another child would be needed to strengthen their family. so when catherine found herself pregnant for the fourth time, both her and arthur knew exactly what it meant. her husband had largely ignored her longterm affair with a particularly handsome duke over the years they were together, as all the parties involved knew full well that it was of the utmost importance to keep all their dealings secret, even from their most trusted advisors. arthur would grin and bear it, letting himself be photographed with little william in his arms, and take the usual photo-op in front of the child’s school for his first day of term. in response to the king’s coldness towards his youngest, catherine took it upon herself to shower her son with gifts and affection, a spoilt little boy who grew up happy despite his father’s disdain towards him. the family’s most well-kept secret ( william was brought up on the knowledge but would carry his true parentage to the grave ), catherine and arthur both have their half of the family, and would continue to keep the divide in private.

IT HAS BEEN about a year now since my involvement with the Dozier School For Boys began taking over my world. Kicking off the whirlwind was my need to get my hands on the school’s student ledgers. I won’t rehash the entire adventure but what I will say is that it took many frustrating nights online, several emails to the Archivist, the potential of an $600+ bill to get digital copies & finally an 8 hour round trip before I’d actually have what I wanted…Well at least a quarter of what I wanted!
HAVING ABSOLUTELY NO clue what I was looking for, I spent the next several weeks trying to organize what I had. Almost immediately number of very distinct patterns began jumping out at me. The same sentencing judges over & over again, the SAME sentence length OR lack there of & a crap load of blank spaces; Specifically under the “WHEN/HOW RELEASED” columns. One would expect that any institution handling children would be required to keep detailed & accurate records of ALL of its charges, especially when it comes to their last known whereabouts BUT that would make too much sense, now wouldn’t it…
THE INFO THAT I had gotten was only from the latest volume of the ledgers & didn’t even make a dent in the number of boys that had been shoved through the doors to be reformed. I knew there were hundreds OR even thousands of names in those books. I maybe had a few hundred at the most. By now, I had gotten used to what I like to call the “Hurry Up & Stop” method of researching. Basically I’d need specific info, finally get said info ONLY to start looking it over & promptly figure out that I needed additional material OR even worse, I’d need something entirely different altogether. In this case, I had just assumed that I’d eventually be making another trip to the Archives; That is until I ended up becoming involved with Bob Straley & taking over his website…And right there on one of the site pages was a link to the detailed, handwritten notes that WHB Mr. Andrew Puel had spent hours putting together.
Mr. Andrew Puel At The State Archives…Sitting In The EXACT Same Spot That I Did When I Was There!
      NOT IT!!
WHEN I SAW that link, I was beyond thrilled! I was finally going to have something reliable to validate what I had come up with! I had spoken with Andrew at Bob Straley’s memorial service & knew that any research he had done would be the best & most accurate info that I could possibly get. When the page loaded, it definitely did NOT show what I had been hoping for; In all actuality, it showed nothing but this:
ODDLY THE INFO was missing! I started clicking on some of the other older links on the website & sure enough, there were quite a few that led to nowhere. I don’t know why it gone OR where it went, only that it’s not there. I tried not to get to aggravated, thinking that there had to be a hard copy among the thousands of documents that I have. I spent the next several weeks going through EVERY page, folder, digital file, etc. & found nothing. Bob kept everything, so to say I was puzzled that he wouldn’t have a copy of something so important was a huge understatement. I did another look through, literally taking out every piece of paper, one by one; Still nothing.
  Well Damn….
    AN EVENING IN GAINESVILLE
ON A FRIDAY in late February, I made the 3 hour trip to Gaineville. With me was a small black bag filled with what I believed to be the most important material related to the Arthur G Dozier School for Boys. I pulled up to a beautiful home, tucked back in a quiet sub division that was surrounded by forest. Standing outside was a familiar face, Mr. Bryant Middleton. The “Whitehouse Boy” greeted me with a smile & a brief hug before inviting me inside to meet his wife. Both graciously spent several hours telling their personal story of Dozier & how the WHB’s Organization was founded. They were both lovely people & I was grateful that they had been so willing to meet with me & be as open as they were. When we finally moved into the dining room to look over the things that I had brought, I began pulling things out. I yanked a folder out that had been wedged inside of my over full bag & a stack of papers fell out. The stack was stapled together & folded in half. I picked it up to see what it was & as I unfolded it, my jaw hit the floor!
OH…MY…GOD…It was a hard copy of the list of missing boys! The same list that I had just spent weeks trying to find! The stuff inside of that bag was the stuff that I pulled out & reviewed quite frequently & there’s absolutely NO way that I would missed that thick stack of ledger pages! I slid the stack across the table, explaining to Bryant why I was a bit stunned at finding them. He thought it was strange as well. I’m not going to get into the specifics of my time with the Middletons in this post, although I will say that I’m very fortunate to have met with them. They’re great people & they continue to work toward keeping the future from repeating the past.
    WHERE COULD THEY BE?
OF COURSE THERE is minimal info on the boys on this list. What is known is that most were listed as escaped but never recovered. A lot lacked permanent homes OR guardians, so there wouldn’t have been any concerned parents wondering about the whereabouts of their lost boy. It should also be noted that the last place they were seen was the Dozier School for Boys in Marianna. That leaves so many unanswered questions; Could ALL 185 boys on that list have actually successfully escaped & moved on to a better life? Even if that did happen, would it be possible that NOT 1 single child ever be heard from again? I suppose it could be possible for some BUT for All 185? I seriously have my doubts & given the history of Dozier, I’d say that’s highly unlikely. Especially considering the significant proof of other burial sites on the school’s 1200+ acres.Whether or not they continued life after Dozier OR their lives were taken at the school, they each deserve to be recognized. I’ll let them speak for themselves….

We remember.
16 years ago, my church held an impromptu service in the wake of 9/11. There was only a preliminary list of the people killed. Everybody drew little sheets of paper with a name on it from a basket, and during the prayer we each read the name we held aloud at the same time. The name I got was Stephen Dimino. I make a point to say his name out loud several times a day every 9/11.
I put a list of their names under the cut. You will be scrolling for a long time. I encourage everyone to pick out a name, write it down and say it in whatever form you communicate best be it AAC, sign language, or even keeping a photo of that person with their name if you can find a photo of them.
Some say a person’s memory stays alive as long as their name is still read or spoken. I can’t bring back the people who died that awful day, but I can use this platform to put their names out there so their memory stays alive.

Edward Gutierrez is Missing
At 5:37 pm on a Tuesday, he texted her to say he was headed home. “Want me to pick up anything?”
A few minutes later, she replied. “No, just come home :)”
When he wasn’t back by 8, she called his office. He’d left at 6, she was told. She called her brother-in-law, and her mother. “Stay patient, I’m sure he’s okay,” mother said. Her brother-in-law drove the thirty minutes between Edward’s office and the house seven times while she called every hospital. Nobody had seen him.
The next morning, she called the police. They sat on their hands until 24 hours passed, then launched the search.
She went on TV, holding a photo of him coaching their son’s little league team. His oval face, happy, tanned, slightly sweaty, was cracked in a warm smile. “Please help me find him,” she begged.
The police tracked the GPS in the family car; they found it parked on the side of the road fifty-five miles out of town, at the mouth of the national park. A search party was organized - hundreds of volunteers and emergency responders swept the mountain in a human chain. She was there, handing out sandwiches, hot coffee, and cold lemonade. She spent every second of her downtime praying, clutching the rosary her abuelita left her when she was fourteen.
They found him three days later.
He had been blindfolded and gagged, his ankles and hands were tied together. His shirt and pants were gone. He was slumped in a small spring, a crusted bullet hole in the back of his head.
She screamed when she saw his body. She didn’t stop screaming for days.
The police looked, but found no trail of the killer, or killers. No bullet, no footprints, no fingerprints, no hairs, no fibers, no nothing. As hundreds of people had been on the mountain, there was no forensic evidence that could rule out every single person. Had the murderer been part of the search party?
Eyes and whispers followed her and the family. “She must have taken a lover, and had Edward killed,” they said. She held her head up, and protected her boys. “Our sons lost their father. I lost my best friend. Either help us find justice, or leave us in peace.” They pounced on that, accusing her of a cover-up.
Eventually, people lost interest. Every night, she wept.
Three months passed before the doorbell rang. She had been tidying the house, cooking, decorating the tree.
He was standing on the doorstep, his eyes more watery than she remembered, clutching a bouquet of fire lilies.
“Hi Felicia.”
She fell into his arms, sobbing, as he soothed her with kisses and hushed whispers. She didn’t care about the smell of rot and dirt, or the freezing cold of his skin. “I have seen so much,” he whispered. “I have so much to tell you.”
She set a place for him at the table, and called the boys downstairs to give them the good news.
