Silent Rage (1982)
"John killed him, right? Didn't he?"
"I don't care if he murdered a hundred people. We're scientists, not moralists. You know that we're all expendable. John Kirby is the future. Because of him it's possible that millions of lives can be saved."
"Only if we could have perfected the process, but there's no time. I mean, nobody's going to give us the Nobel Prize for murder."

Libby was a stuntman but you'd never know he wasn't a trained#actor‚ he puts a hell of a lot into his performance. Furst's comic relief deputy‚ on the other hand‚ quickly grows tiresome#dumb as rocks and at times plain idiotic (Norris is satisfied he's killed the big bad by throwing him down a small well‚ despite the guy#having just survived much greater falls and a close range explosion without a scratch). fun synth score too but this is far from an#essential watch; for fans of brainless machismo and or Bill Finley being a weird nerd only (I'm the latter more than the former)

WorldSBK returns to Imola for the first time since 2019
The FIM, the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola and Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO) are delighted to announce a new agreement that will see the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship race at the iconic Italian circuit in 2023. Imola will host the Italian Round as it returns to the WorldSBK calendar after three seasons away with the legendary venue hosting the seventh round of the 2023 season from the 14th to the 16th of July. All three classes will take to the track at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola, including Italian Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha with Brixx WorldSBK), Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing) but also Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (GMT94 Yamaha) who will make their debuts in 2023, competing in the Superbike class. Featured on the calendar for the first time back in 2001, the iconic circuit was the scene of unforgettable moments such as the season finale between Colin Edwards and Troy Bayliss in 2002 and Bayliss’s title in 2006. The 2023 Italian Round also promises to be a thrilling event with Ducati rider Alvaro Bautista who will be fighting to retain his title. Gregorio Lavilla, WorldSBK Executive Director: “After three seasons away, we are thrilled to welcome back Imola to the calendar in 2023. This second round in Italy confirms the popularity of the Championship amongst the Italian fans as there is a lot of passion for our sport there with many Italian riders and teams in our Paddock. Imola has an illustrious history within World Superbike, and we look forward to the 2023 Italian Round which promises to be an exciting event for the fans.” Pietro Benvenuti, Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola General Director: “It is with great satisfaction that we announce this agreement with Dorna WSBK Organization, which brings Imola back to the prestigious WorldSBK calendar. We know that there are many fans who wouldn't miss this event for anything as Imola always had strong ties with this series. Not to mention that a World Champion on a Ducati will take to the track, undoubtedly a great incentive for many of the “Rossa” to watch on from trackside. Opting for the month of July is also strategic for the region as it will open business opportunities during a period when local accommodation options are not at full capacity, confirming the role of the circuit as a driving force of the local economy. It's a great result made possible thanks to the full support of the Municipal Administration, which strongly wanted the return of Superbike to Imola.”

I find it fascinating how in the 1460’s (and further into the 1480’s), These guys
Funded this guy’s
War, so Edward could become king of England.
And By the time Edward Plantagenet was crowned Edward IV, in 1461, he owed the Medici 10,500 pounds silver. By the time Edward died on April 9, 1483, he had still not paid the Medici bank back, and the liquidation of the London Branch of the bank found a total loss of 51,533 gold florins. It’s also interesting how that loss helped to further the Medici banking crisis in the oncoming years when Piero de’ Medici took over the bank at the death of his father, Lorenzo.
I also find it interesting that Edward decided to see if he couldn’t get more loans from other banks in Florence, and got turned down by these guys
Because they knew he would not be returning the loans amount.
It’s just interesting to see that these historic figures were connected and that they lived in the same century.

La figlia di Frankenstein (Lady Frankenstein, 1971)
"The creation of life is the greatest achievement. To hesitate or have doubts, to be scared now, would mean all my work up to now has been pointless. This... is my life."
"But creating life, isn't that God's task alone?"
"Here on earth, man is God."
#La figlia di Frankenstein#lady frankenstein#Frankensteinathon#italian cinema#Horror imagery#body horror#mel welles#Edward Di Lorenzo#Aureliano Luppi#rosalba neri#joseph cotten#paul muller#Herbert fux#Riccardo Pizzuti#Mickey Hargitay#Lorenzo Terzon#Marino Masé#Renate Kasché#Andrea aureli#Ada Pometti#Petar martinovitch#messy italiano take on the Frankenstein mythos. apparently the genesis of this was one guy's attempt to get into Neri's pants‚ throwing#money at various filmmakers to get this off the ground. it wasn't enough and New World Pictures ended up supplying some of the cash making#this a weird combination of Italian horror and US exploitation but somehow coming in on the lower end of either spectrum#poor Neri does her game best despite the indignity of the background (apparently said would be seducer was actually very attractive but his#rich douche persona made her despise him) and the director wasn't well liked by the cast and crew. a messy time and a flawed result but not#without fun aspects; the first half is a traditional walk through classic Frankenstein mode but the second half goes a little more nuts#as Neri succeeds her father and starts designing a husband while the og monster is out shredding ppl up with his bulbous head in tow#she and Cotten are the big names but i have to say it's Muller's performance that most impresses‚ as the nervous sycophant helper#who serves first father and then daughter adoringly and unceasingly. a silly little thing but not un fun

𝑳𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒐 𝒅𝒆' 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒊
This was not by any means meant to be. Domenico was a nephew of the great head of the Medici family that had marked history forevermore. During the rise of Mussolini, the branch of the Medicis fled to avoid his system. During the summer, the Somersets met the fleeing Medicis, and the moment Domenico and Lenore talked, sparks flied.
The two of them kept seeing each other, and quickly grew passionate to the point that Lenore's sister chastised for not being wise, but who could blame her? She was 23 and in love... Soon they agreed to eventually married... If both families approved of the match.
Lenore was not by any means the match thought for Domenico: she was very much like her aloof and mysterious father and Domenico was an open book, easy to read.
The pair married two years later and while it wasn't the grand wedding they hoped for, it was perfect nevertheless. Lenore had her first child 11 months after the wedding, a son called Lorenzo, like Lorenzo the Magnificent. The latter still stayed in England, but planned to move to Canada, out of danger. Her father, Malcolm, encouraged her to do so, for she was expecting again. The travel was made, and soon arrived at Prince Edward Island. There she gave birth to maternal twin daughters, Lucrezia and Mary Primrose. They both agreed on allowing Lenore's body to rest. Two years later, another son would follow, Juan Rodrigo.
A year before WWII erupted, she gave birth to another daughter, Alexandra Leonor. By this time, the world was tense and promised no more children. They were happy with their own family.
In 1943, however, Lenore found out she was pregnant for the final time. She was in her late thirties and everyone was worried; medicine hadn't advanced much regarding safe births, and they were in the midst of war with the odds in the Nazis' favour. She gave birth during a storm to a son, Francisco José. It was a stressful delivery, and for the first time, Domenico was there with his wife instead of waiting outside, which shocked the island.
In 1945, they finally came back to England, where Domenico took his remaining family and went back to Florence, where they remained until his death in 1986 by lung cancer. She took her youngest son Fran and went back to England with her nephew Lawrence where ten years later she'd join him. She was buried in Florence and a small shrine with her teendhood belongings was made in the Winbourneshire pantheon, beside her mother and youngest sister Gia, who had died fifteen years ago.

Brigham Young offspring masterlist [possibly under development if I uncover some other kid lurking around bc wikipedia says he had 59 kids and this list has 58]
under the cut because this is long as hell. I’m working off a list that lists them grouped by who their mom was here but I decided to revamp it and do it chronologically to focus on his rate of paternity (mom’s names are in parentheses after the kid’s name)

my notes:
peak birth year is 1849, when five children were born, all girls
in general, children were born at a comparatively slow but steady rate pre-polygamy, we get a population explosion in the late 1840s through 1850s, and then the birth rate starts to decline somewhat towards the end of Brigham’s life, with the last child born in 1870 after a six-year gap (he died in 1877)
there are several repeat names: three Josephs, three Brighams (the younger two went by their middle names, Heber and Morris), two Hyrums (though the elder one died in infancy), two Fannys, and two Clarissas.
there are two sets of twins
largest number of children was Emmeline Free, who had ten kids. Lucy Decker and Emily Partridge had seven, Mary Ann Angell had six, Clara Decker (Lucy’s younger sister) had five, Clarissa Ross and Louisa Beaman had four, Lucy Bigelow had three, Margaret Alley and Miriam Works had two, and Mary van Cott, Harriet Barney, Eliza Burgess, Zina Huntington, Martha Bowker, Margaret Pierce, Susannah Snively, and Harriet Cook had one each.
In terms of some of the oddest names on this list: Mahonri Moriancumer is from the Book of Mormon. I have no idea where Feramorz and Chemira/Shamira/Shimara came from. MM and Feramorz were both male, Chemira/etc was a girl. Vilate is a girl and this name appears to be a relatively common 19th century variation/misspelling of Violet.

-Fabrizio De Rossi was a supporting character in the film, Titanic. He was Jack Dawson's best friend and trustworthy companion. He is an Italian native. It is not known when they met, but it is possible Fabrizio accompanied Jack on his journeys around the world, including the ill-fated maiden voyage of the Titanic.
-Ruth DeWitt Bukater (1872 - unknown) was a fictional character of the 1997 Film Titanic. She was one of the main antagonists of the film and also the mother of Rose DeWitt Bukater. She was very snobby, rude, selfish, most likely due to the fact that she was consumed by her wealth.
-Edward John Smith RD RNR (27 January 1850 – 15 April 1912) was a British naval officer. He served as master of numerous White Star Line vessels. He was the captain of the RMS Titanic, and perished when the ship sank on its maiden voyage.

Denoument
However, the very beginning of this film fails to show the audience of the sadness that overwhelms Rose. It becomes clear that she is depressed after being trapped in a hell of her own making. She is marrying her fiancee for money instead of love.
THEME
Love. Love is the overriding theme of the film, which is symbolized by the Heart of the Ocean diamond. The blossoming love affair between Jack and Rose is the central narrative of the film, one that leads them to make risky, fateful decisions in order to stay together.
