Let's be fair

Hundreds of years ago all it took was some rumour-mongering and finger-pointing and voilà you had yourself a witch burning. And despite all the progress we've made in every facet of our lives, our mentality doesnt seem to be that far from our pitchfork-bearing ancestors. Cancel culture is just a new name for a good old-fashioned witch hunt.

Despite how much discipline it takes we need to sort facts from opinions and process information without bias. We have to resist taking sides based on emotions. It takes a different sort of strength to contemplate the possibility that someone might be guilty just as equally as they might be innocent, and it is fucking exhausting to keep your mind open to both possibilities. This is hard work: it's easier and lazier to make snap judgements. But being fair is the right thing to do. Please treat others as you would want to be treated yourself.

Joy, fear, heartache, loss, beauty, pain, love.

Failure, learning, friendship, misery, exhilaration.

Each day, each moment even, is a tiny shard of glass in this beautiful, confusing creation.

2023 will be another mosaic to add to your wall of art.

A wall that shows the life, you are continuously gifted.

A wall that shows you are human.

A wall of survival.

I wish you many broken pieces of glass this year, my friends.

Because this is living.

And before you march on in to another year of ‘everything’, pause to look back, at the work you have created thus far.

THE MAN WHO WALKS WITH THE HEALER~ When a man chooses a woman who follows her calling, his only chance to maintain the connection is in following her… and above all in creating space for her to follow her own path. It may happen that he needs to abandon his own neediness, or that he finds a means of healing through their common path – but not in the gentlest manner. When a man chooses a woman who heals the collective wounds of the women by following her calling, his Yes for her equals a Yes to a bigger purpose far beyond building a house or raising children. Their connection goes beyond fulfilling the classical gender role models. For this man accepts the job of having the back of this woman, of catching her when she cannot transform the pain of the world anymore. It means for him to welcome a different form of sexuality, since healing on the level of sexuality is one of the most profound issues of the woman who needs to become a healer. For him this, again, is about welcoming slowness, softness and healing – about holding back or redirecting his own drive… about being present for the whole. Because when a man chooses a woman who aims for freedom, they can only achieve this together… and by him leaving his narcissistic aspects behind and recognizing the path of the woman as his own path towards freedom. When a man chooses a woman who is bigger, he cannot dwell in the places of energies of oppression or of playing small. He – if he chooses to take on this mission with her – accepts a task serving the well-being of all men, even though it happens in the background. Within this background he creates space of security, of keeping her safe from an ambush bred by his own old wounds, driving her into submission. When a man chooses a woman out of his fascination with her radiance and wisdom, it must be obvious to him that he cannot be stuck within his own deficits in a way that makes him want to diminish her radiance… purely out of fear of having to share her with others. When a man chooses a woman who follows her calling, he cannot fear these words: respect, humility and surrender. He will rather walk the path of divinity – alongside his woman, the healer – with gratitude and an overflowing heart. For such a woman will choose – if she ever needs to choose – in favour of the well-being of all women …and she will choose walking her path alone instead of leaving it for him. Your header picture is so beautiful!! What is it/who is it by?

Oh my godddd, the header!!! Yes!!! I'm so glad you asked!!! IT'S BY ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTISTS!!! I found his work online by accident but let me tell you, LITERALLY EVERYTHING HE DOES IS GORGEOUS!!!!

He's a mexican by the name of Eduardo Rodriguez Calzado and almost all of his artwork follows the same theme. It's all abstract and meant to express the metaphysical reality and like our consciousness and inner thought process.

Okay I swear it's all wonderful and I just suck at explaining so let me leave you with a link that has some of his best work and better description!

As for what it is, to me personally, his work just always gives me so much hope. Almost every piece seems to make me feel strangely peaceful and infinite.

My header in particular, I see as 'POSSIBILITY''

Like the person standing in the light of the known universe, not fully able to see how vast that is. How the knowledge they themselves possess is but a small part of it and they know there'sso much they don't know but want to. Like all the interests and hobbies and things that one has learned and explored and how beautiful all of that is, how much deeper it can go and how much more there is that we can happily immerse ourselves in.

And then all around is the unknown, which is just as beautiful and just lying there waiting for you at the edges of the known world, ready to be explored. I like to think it keeps stretching out to infinity. So basically life and its infinite possibilities.

I also like that it's not simple, the patterns and the shapes. It doesn't always seem to make sense, even seems more complicated than it needs to be, but look how beautiful it is anyway. If that's not the universe in its essence then what is?
