You ever think that technically Shiva and by proxy Ysayle blessed Ryne/Gaia with a small present of a shard of eternal ice? Which was turned into a pendant that helped Gaia remember. When you remember that it was implied that Ysayle was manipulated onto her doomed path by Ascians this feels like more than coincidence? Shiva or Ysayle helping to save Gaia from a Ascian…

I tend to think that because Eden Shiva, like the others, is spun from WoL's memories, that perhaps that thought, consciously or subconsciously, of Ysayle's manipulation by the Ascians, of her life and story being cut short when she had just learned the truth and her friends having nothing left of her when she was lost, might have had an influence WoL didn't even realize, manifesting in ways that ended up saving Gaia. Hedging our own bets without realizing it, just doing something, anything, to prevent repeated tragedy and have something to recall this time.

Ysayle's story and how she affected WoL being the catalyst, so less direct but still extremely important in the end, even before we were aware of what was actually happening with Eden.

Also makes for an interesting link, from the story of original Shiva, to primal Shiva and Ysayle, and having to summon those aspects based on very painful memories around the Dragonsong War and being the culmination of our elemental summonings, why the lyrics and singing of "Return to Oblivion" are so desperate; we didn't get it in the actual dialogue like so many wanted, but there's a lot of Refulgence rooted in WoL's grief and fear of history repeating again with a new Shiva.

Which is why I ended up writing an entire story on why summoning the aspect of ice was so hard for my WoL.

"I wouldn't have eaten the forbidden fruit" yes you would have. Why? Because you do it everyday. Because every character in the bible does it (with a few exceptions) over and over and over again. The narrative uses different ways of talking about it, "taking the fruit", "getting bit by the snake", etc but the real point is that your absolute failure to read the bible as a narrative, and instead to insist on historicity as your primary way of reading scripture, is the root issue here because it causes you to be blind to the actual message of the Bible.

"Let the tides carry you back to me." has always been among one of my favourite lines in Telomeres, and so, having listened to it again recently, a little idea popped into my head. Let me explain:

While ocean tides/currents is a very common metaphor, there's an underlying meaning to it. The ocean is a beautiful, but somewhat cruel place: tides can leave you stranded on a sandbank, or sweap you away before you even know it.

To put it in short, no object or creature that goes into the ocean comes out the same. For the tides to carry something back to you, something you've lost, it will be and always will be changed: eroded.

The cliffside will fall, the cave will crumble, etc etc.

With this in mind, we're yet again greeted with another example of Vessel asking for something he can't truly have. The person he wants will not be the same as they were before; they "collapse" into him, breaking apart, but still, to him, it's "the start of something."

His memory is warped, they are warped, and it'll stay that way.

However, what I would like to add is that, in DYWTYLM, it's theorised that instead of Vessel speaking to a second person, he's instead talking to himself.

Of course, this makes the song itself much more emotional (to me). Finding love for yourself is one of the hardest things you can do, but it has to be done to find love in others.

With that idea (stay with me here), the lyrics "Do you roll with the waves? Or do you duck into deep blue safety?" match up (generally) with Telomeres, which is mostly interpretated as being towards someone else.

So, what if some lines in Telemores are directed to himself as well?

Keep in mind, the tides don't just erode and carry objects (sediment), they also reflect. The Atlantic is one big mirror, and Vessel is staring into it's "deep blue safety" wondering what, or, rather, who, he was before he was Vessel.

Overall, the album name, "This Place Will Become Your Tomb", either being directed at Vessel or Vessel to Sleep (and being a Halo quote lmao), is more metaphorical than literal.

Who he was before Vessel sits in that coffin, not his physical body.

Her mortal enemy was back!

The audacity! The raccoon hissed at her and Lute hissed back puffing up her wings menacingly. She hated the stupid stripy food thief!

She scolded it in Enochian, still hissing and making her wings big and puffy to scare it off. Fat little thing had already eaten the berries and was searching for more!

6. Immanuel – God with us

Isaiah 7:14 – All right then, the Lord will choose the sign—a child shall be born to a virgin! And she shall call him Immanuel (meaning, “God is with us”).

Matthew 1:23 – ‘Listen! The virgin shall conceive a child! She shall give birth to a Son, and he shall be called “Emmanuel” (meaning “God is with us”).’”

Have you ever reminisced on your life and examined specific experiences that made you realise that God is indeed with you? I know I have.

God came to earth to live with us (humankind) for just over thirty years. His presence with us is significant for many reasons. Before Jesus,  God walked with Adam in the Garden of Eden. 

Genesis 3:8 That evening they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden; and they hid themselves among the trees.

After ‘The Fall’, God revealed himself to a few chosen men in various ways. Abraham spoke with God, Moses went up the mountain to talk to God, and the prophets communed with God, but God no longer walked amongst humans. 

When Jesus was born into the world, the full being of God dwelt among us humans. This means humans could speak to, touch, walk with, and experience God's presence. This is a huge deal! However, not everyone realise(d) it. It is beyond human comprehension that a person in human form could bear the full being of God. However, with God, all things are possible! 

When God is with us, there is liberty – captives are set free. 

2 Corinthians 3:17 – Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

When God is with us, there is fullness of Joy.

Psalm 16:11 – You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

God’s presence brings healing.

1 Peter 2:24 – He personally carried the load of our sins in his own body when he died on the cross so that we can be finished with sin and live a good life from now on. For his wounds have healed ours!

God’s presence brings light.

John 1:4 – In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

God’s presence brings grace.

John 1:17 – For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

There is so much more that happens when God is present. Have you welcomed Jesus into your life? When God is present in your life, you will be set free!

Say this prayer to invite Jesus into your life: “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You into my heart and life.”

Now, join a sound, Bible-believing and practising church. Continue to study Jesus’s words and live as He wants His followers to live.
