#Eddie also thinks it’s hilarious but only because he knows specifically how mortifying it is to make that mistake

Eddie has the band over and they’re jamming together on a live-stream when Steve gets off work and interrupts them. He’s all smiles when he’s like, “Hey, guess what. One of my students called me the D-word today.”
Eddie; One of your students called you a dumbass and you’re happy about it?
Steve: No
Jeff: Then why are you smiling?
Steve: They didn’t-
Gareth: Did they call you a douchebag?
Grant: Dipshit?
Steve: Dad! One of my students called me dad today.
The band:
The band: Oh
Eddie: That’s great! How many times is that now?
Steve: Thirteen!

okay i have something i'm gonna die if i don't get to tell someone and i have no one else to tell so i'm just gonna tell you, hope that's okay.
i'm not at all a metal person. i mean i do love somewhat adjacent stuff like emo, grunge or punk pop but i have nnnot been able to get into dio or black sabbath or anything else i tried to give a listen to and just ended up not liking/not even making it through the entire song (sorry eddie, i will keep trying for you. eventually)
but. and this is a most of the reason why i'm confessing this on anon to you lol, i am in fact a lifelong eminem fan. (to my defense i'm a non native speaker, baby!me didn't Know.....)
and i literally just found out, completely accidentally, that the chorus of my possible all time favorite song of eminem's, of one of the songs i've listened to the most and has meant the most to me in my life, that chorus? is a sample by ozzy. i-.
this is : mortifying :)))
i have thrown dishonor of my house and on my cow though like two entire separate fandoms where I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, i'm almost positive i've read fics that explicitly mentioned the specific black sabbath song that was sampled (it's changes, in case you wondered) how did i go so long without connecting the dots orz
like don't get me wrong i'm genuinely ashamed but also i kinda think this is hilarious actually, so i hope the tale of my stupidity has at least brought you some entertainment and amusement, i shall miserably jingle away like the fool that i am now, goodbye thank you for your time and have a nice whatevertimeofdayitis
It's not stupidity not to know stuff, and, well, music speaks to who it's gonna. Personally I find it charming that you were able to form a new connection with a familiar love, due to a new love. I think that's great! I think we should all be so lucky to discover new things to love in things we have loved all along.
I have one (1) "Ozzy" song on my playlist and it's a KIND OF country cover of it so not even actually his song, and the only reason I have it is because it was in a show I liked. I also have not liked any actually metal songs I've heard (sorry Eddie). I... grew up listening to country, and metal seems about as far away from that as one can get. I'm glad it's there for other people, I just like my guitar a lot softer usually.
I actually just woke up way early (it's like 4:30am as I started to write this) from a dream where a guy was playing a guitar out in the country for a small group, and then he passed me the guitar to keep playing and when I tell you I have no idea how to play the guitar, I mean it and even my subconscious is aware because the guy took it back after like 1 minute and told me no, and that I was to stick around after his performance so he could teach me. Hey at least my subconscious is also kind about not knowing stuff, eh
