I’m on the motorway (as a passenger) for a long journey and can’t really read etc because it makes me feel nauseous, so I’m just contemplating.
Current memory that comes to mind, my dad used to entertain us on long drives by singing the ‘Eddie Stobart’ song every time we saw an Eddie Stobart lorry. Which is just an old football chant where the lyrics are replaced with Eddie Stobart but it entertained us no end.

Eddie stobart truck and trailers christmas special
We supported the event in December but wanted to offer the charity ongoing public exposure after the event – so what better way than to brand an Eddie Stobart trailer. In Friday night’s episode of Eddie Stobart: Trucks & Trailers, viewers got an insight into the story behind the trailer, watched as it was branded in the special livery and saw it undertake its first delivery.Īndrew Tinkler, Stobart Group chief executive, said: "This is proof of how the UK logistics industry can work well together and, in this case, help raise an incredible amount of money for charity. The Emeralds & Ivy ball helped raise almost three quarters of a million pounds for Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation. The total mileage covered by the truck during 2011 will be converted to pounds and presented to the charity. The trailer will operate on the Stobart Chilled network and will be pulled by a special Volvo FH16 tractor unit driven by Eddie Stobart: Trucks & Trailers TV star Matt Ekins.
At the end of the evening, Andrew Malcolm, chief executive of the Malcolm Group, made a further donation to brand the remaining side and the rear with the distinctive Malcolm Group livery. In December last year Stobart Group supported Ronan Keating’s Emeralds & Ivy Ball where it presented the Marie Keating Foundation and Cancer Research UK with a cheque for £151,700 – one pound for every mile a nominated truck had covered in 2010.Īttendees at the event were given the opportunity to make a financial donation in return for their name listed on the side of the refrigerated trailer for a full year. The other side lists 75 names of individuals who have each pledged a £1000 financial contribution to the charity. The alliance sees an Eddie Stobart refrigerated trailer hit the road with a special Malcolm Group livery adorning the side. Stobart Group and the Malcolm Group, the two biggest names in the UK multimodal logistics industry, have joined forces to raise money for, and help promote, Cancer Research UK.

Whats the first thing you would do if you were in the same room as a water bottle?
I’d find a convoluted way out of the room, but it turns out to be a trap. I am trapped in the water bottle room dimension. Eddie Stobart has won

tagged by @racingliners to share 7 comfort films 🥰 (spoiler alert, try closer to 13, whoops)
enjoy the waffles and half-formed sentences 🥞 ⤵ (i can’t find a waffle emoji on mobile what the-)
1. how to train your dragon (2010) - i’ve watched it at least once a year since i was 13, it’s a visually and musically beautiful film, the dynamics keep my heart warm and it never fails to make me laugh, cry, cringe, you name it! can’t help but think of my guinea pigs.
2. hugo (2011) - captures the book’s illustrations so well! such a vibrant film, sacha baron cohen has me in stitches every time, the themes are probably what made me interested in films in general (although i still haven’t seen any other scorcese film, whoops) and i also love parisian films! (yet although i was close to almost all the locations last year i sadly didn’t visit them). another very colourful film is peter pan (2003).
3. the jungle book (1967) - my dad’s favourite disney film pretty much since he was born, so it’s therefore become my favourite film. baloo is just such a lovable character and even though i’ve always been a bit terrified of the ending the soundtrack is so damn catchy (and i’ve always found the beatlesque vultures a funny add on). also! how can i forget another lovable bear? paddington (2014) squeezes in here. i make the rules now.
4. spider-man homecoming (2017) - i’ve always been interested in the concept of spider-man, probably from overexposure, although i haven’t read any marvel comics. i vaguely remember tobey maguire, i was very aware of andrew garfield, and by 2017 i was virtually in the mcu’s backpocket so thought it was only right to be hyped for tom holland’s chance in the spotlight after civil war. it came out between year 11 and year 12 so kinda... aging alongside helped? anyways it was basically love at first sight? i loved the dynamics and the humour and the stunts and the soundtrack and- (okay, you get the picture, i’ll choose this film over and over again)
5. moulin rouge! (2001) - yes, another parisian film. which i didn’t visit when i had the chance. damn it! seeing tessa and scott perform to a medley of this at pyeongchang made me do a little research, because after beauty and the beast i was always like ‘i need more singing ewan mcgregor!’ it was immediately bookmarked (and i love baz luhrmann) and that summer i think i came home from school early feeling a bit crappy (might have been a bad exam? not sure) and watched this. very red (it’s in the title, bex, duh) and makes me want to fall in love. and/or actually do some writing. be part of something weird and wonderful. then i watched it again not long after i saw hadestown (january 2019), noticed the similarities and it burrowed into my heart even more so since! i guess i could say the same for the book of life (2014)...
6. i’d gladly include several pixar films but the incredibles (2004) definitely screams comfort to me - i had the incredibles/finding nemo gameboy game, so i pretty much used to know the script off by heart from the little cutscenes (it was easier to play than the finding nemo game, and i have fond memories of my sister and i on long car journeys, writing a long list of cheat codes for the latest chapter into a tiny notebook, along with eddie stobart truck names). it just made itself at home within our family.
7. ugh. last one. i just realised i’ve forgotten chick flicks. i didn’t think this through at all, did i? maybe i should just break the rules again here?! honourable mentions to clueless (1995), never been kissed (1999), 27 dresses (2008) and mamma mia (2008), the latter of which i watched with my neighbour, sister and mum straight after the funeral of my first guinea pig, back in march 2009 (my dad had to go to an actual funeral a few days later, and i told him off for suddenly obeying the dress code). priorities.
IN CONCLUSION: i am indecisive, highly emotional and rely on comfort films too much. whoops.
