Cruel Summer | E.M.
Eddie does his very best to help you through the current heatwave — eddie x pregnant!reader fluff
warnings: pregnancy, a little angst if you squint
words: 1.6k
Boiling.
That was the only way your trailer could be described right now. It was one of Indiana’s hottest summers on record, and it didn’t help that you were six months pregnant and living in an aluminum box.
You owned three electric fans, and they were all on full blast and aimed at the couch, but they really weren’t making as much of a difference as you needed.
There was a series of thuds coming from something or other outside the thin walls of your trailer, so you assumed your husband was home. And you were proven right when he entered, immediately apologising for leaving you alone in this heat.
He had no reason to be sorry. Eddie has been so attentive and helpful through this pregnancy, showing you exactly why you fell in love with him everyday, and he was even proving it now.
Since he just came back from a quick run to the store for some ice, fruit, and frozen treats, he set everything he bought on the recliner before crouching down next to you.
He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead and started lightly stroking some of your hair.
“How are you feeling?” Eddie asked.
You gave him a side eye, too exhausted to even lift your head. “Take a guess, Teddy.”
He smiled slightly. If it was at the use of your favourite nickname for him or your exasperated joke, you weren’t quite sure.
“I know that, sweetheart, and I’m sorry. Hopefully I can help a little.”
“Thank you. Did they have black cherry ice cream?”
He hummed out a quiet ‘mhm’ then stood up with a stifled groan. “But it might have melted a bit on the way back. I’ll put it in the freezer and we can have it soon.”
“What about oranges?”
That was your latest craving. The ice cream and popsicles were luxuries to get you through the heat; the oranges were necessities. You were thankful that your cravings switched from tomato soup to citrus just in time for the heatwave, or you weren’t sure how you would get through it at all.
Eddie made his way back over to the living room and picked up a paper bag from the recliner.
“Big bag of ‘em, just for you.”
Hoping to dive right into the bag of fruits, you attempted to sit up, but the baby bump paired with the immense summer heat rendered the process slow and tiring.
Eddie watched as you moved sluggishly, pitying how this heatwave was taking an extra hefty toll on you.
“Don’t push yourself.” He advised gently while holding out his hand for you. “I’ll help you with whatever, even if it’s just getting up.”
You thanked him, then grabbed a cutting board and paring knife so you could slice the oranges how you like.
“You know,” Eddie spoke again. “I was thinking that we could stay at someone else’s place for a bit. Just to get through the heat, you know? I’m sure everyone we know would be more than happy to have us over.”
You started shaking your head before Eddie even finished the proposition. He and you both knew what your answer would be, but Eddie figured there was no harm in asking.
He really just wanted the best for you. He wanted you to be safe and comfortable, and although that obviously was something you wanted too, you just couldn’t accept his offer.
“Eddie, I know you just want me to be happy, but I promise you I’m happiest here, at home, with you.”
He sighs, torn between wanting to get you out of this sauna of a trailer and letting you decide what’s best for yourself. In the end, he had to go with your choice, even if it meant suffering; both of you suffering together wasn’t the worst thing ever, he supposed.
“Alright. Want me to at least draw you a bath?”
“Will you feed me orange slices and ice cream while I’m in the bath?” With wide eyes, you flashed him a hopeful smile.
He rolled his eyes jokingly, then smiled sincerely back at you. “Of course, anything you want.”
You let out a happy giggle, then took the ice cream out of the freezer almost as quickly as it got there.
He kissed you on the forehead before heading off to the small bathroom.
You heard the sound of running water, then your husband’s voice. “Make sure to scoop enough so I can have some too!”
You happily obliged and doled out an extra scoop into the bowl. Then you plucked one ripe cherry from the bag in your fridge and placed it atop the dessert. That was Eddie’s favourite, and if he was being so nice to you, then you would return the favour.
You took the time to clean the kitchen up, then brought both the ice cream and the orange slices to the bathroom to see Eddie sitting by the tub and turning off the water.
“It’s a little bit cooler than usual.” He warned. “I just didn’t want the water to be too hot when the whole place is already hot and you’re—”
You cut him off by pressing a kiss to his lips, then another on the corner of his mouth.
“Thank you, baby. Now hold these while I get undressed. And then turn around.”
“I don’t get to watch?” Your husband asked, baring one of the most betrayed looks you’ve ever seen.
You shook your head. “I promise, you don’t want to see me struggling to get my clothes off because they’re drenched in sweat and I’m about to enter my third trimester. I mean it, don’t look. I don’t want you losing all attraction to me.”
Your husband sighed dramatically, then obeyed and turned slowly to face the other way.
It only took a bit of effort, but you took off your dress and placed it on the towel rack beside you. Then came a wolf whistle from right behind you. After turning around, you noticed that Eddie could totally see you in the bathroom mirror.
“Pervert.” You mock accused. “Does me being all gross and pregnant really turn you on?”
“Everything about you turns me on.”
And he meant that. Not an ounce of insincerity in that promise.
You faked a gag and then smiled just because you couldn’t help it. Holding out a hand, you asked if he could help you into the tub and he obviously did so after putting your food down on the counter.
“How’s the water?” He asked. “I can add some hot or cold water if the temperature is off.”
“It’s amazing, handsome. Perfect temperature for some orange slices.”
Eddie chose the slice that was calling to him the most and held it for you to bite. Some of the juices missed your lips and dropped into the bathwater, but you paid that no mind.
You were thankful that your husband bought a whole bag of these, because you had a feeling your diet over the next few days would be mainly oranges.
After a few more slices, you decided you now wanted some of the black cherry ice cream that you had also been craving recently.
As Eddie held the spoon up close to your lips, he noted that this was similar to feeding a baby—something you would be experiencing soon enough.
“I don’t know about that.” You said. “I think a baby would be a lot more difficult to feed than me.”
Eddie cringed exaggeratedly and shrugged, telling you he doesn’t know about that either.
Maybe proving his point, you splashed about a cup’s worth of water at his chest, taking care in your aim to make sure none of it got in your ice cream. He ‘retaliated’ by doing the same to you, though the water didn’t affect you when you were already in a whole tub of it.
“Do you want to join me?” You proposed, gesturing vaguely to the tub so small that you had to cram just to sit alone in.
“I don’t think this thing can fit both of us, baby. You enjoy it now, and a big tub will be on the top of our list when we buy a new house.”
“It’ll take a while.” You told Eddie. “A lot of our savings are gonna go to the baby, and who knows when we’ll be able to leave the trailer park.”
“Don’t say that. We’ve been working hard and saving. We’ll get there soon.” Eddie assured you. “And even if we can only afford a place without a big tub, I’ll live in the dark and eat nothing but salt and pepper for as long as it takes to get you one.”
You tried to hide your grin, but you knew you were failing at it. Maybe he didn’t think you believed him, so he kept going.
“I’m serious. We’re almost there.” Eddie looked down at your bump sticking out of the water. “Our baby is gonna have a good life”
“You’re so cheesy, Teddy.”
“I’m in love. Love makes you do cheesy things.”
“Like feeding me ice cream in the bathtub?” You asked, attempting to not put your true intentions on display.
But Eddie understood, just like he always does. He picked up the spoon once more and scooped a heap just for you.
“Like feeding you ice cream in the bathtub.” He nodded in agreement.

The concept of Eddie being a serial killer but being sweet to us just makes me imagine serial killer Eddie and a princess reader 😍 she’s so innocent but is married to a literal killer.
Hiii babes!!! Oh my gawwwddd staahhppp!!! This concept is *chefs kiss* because it’s just the irony of you being all sweet, innocent and probably a little too nice/trusting while being married to a serial killer who you have cutting the crust off your sandwiches and leaving you love notes on the coffee maker before he rushes off to “work”🫠 Just let me indulge myself for a moment okay?
Masterlist: here
TW: Eddie is a serial killer
“Honey where is the pot that I make soup in?” Eddie holds his finger up making the man tied to a chair in his own basement stop squirming for a moment. “I want to make soup for dinner is that okay?” Eddie quickly puts his phone on the work bench next to his duffel bag so he can put you on speaker, placing you on mute as he looks into the eyes of the man with a busted lip.
“Make a sound and I’ll make this the longest most painful night of your life understand?” The harshness of Eddie’s voice instantly makes the man just nod his head making Eddie smile as he unmutes you. “Soup sounds amazing Princess, the pot is on the bottom shelf in the cabinet to the left of the stove.” Eddie begins rolling up his sleeves as he hears you rustling around in the kitchen, a loud banging noise making him raise an eyebrow at the phone. “You okay baby?” He hears you let out a sigh letting him know the answer.
“I can’t find it.” Eddie’s eyes flicker from his phone to the man tied to the chair. “I really want soup.” He knows by the way he hears a small sniffle come from the phone that you’re about ten seconds away from having a breakdown in the middle of the kitchen.
“Listen to me baby,” he glances at his watch and then back at the man in the chair. “Give me ten minutes and I’ll be on my way home and I’ll make you some soup how does that sound?” He knows you’re contemplating the idea and he can’t help but smile as he pictures you sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor letting out a huff because you wanted to make the soup for him, he’s always thought you were so adorable when you were slightly frustrated.
“Fine but can I help?” Eddie quickly grabs the gloves out of his duffle and begins to put one of them on as he hears the sound of you plopping down onto the couch.
“I’ll never say no to your help sweetheart.” He watches the man carefully as he pulls out the next few items from his duffle, his eyes glaring into the man’s reminding him to stay silent. “Now I’ve got to go okay? I love you and I’ll see you soon.” You tell him you love him too before both of you hang up. “It’s your lucky day,” The man’s face goes white as he tries to wiggle out of the ropes that are tied around his ankles. “This is going to be quick but…probably not painless.” 🙃💖

Two Lines || e. munson
pairing: dad!eddie x fem!reader
tags: part of my dad!eddie series, arwen munson asks all the right questions, pregnancy test + positive results, repair shop eddie canon, so much fluff i could cry, eddie being the best dad + husband
word count: 2.4k
a/n: hi friends, it’s been so long! i see all your requests and im working on them slowly but surely! i couldn’t find the post that requested this but it was along the lines of “GIVE ARWEN A BABY BROTHER!” so surprise! the munson family is growing!! ✨✨
_____________________________________________
Arwen was always a chatty baby. Taking from her father, she made her presence known anywhere you went. The grocery stores, libraries, you name it. You loved that about her. Eddie always encouraged her and would follow along with her antics creating endless entertainment for you. She was also a smart child. Your husband claims that's a trait she could only carry from you. The combination of both traits created a curious baby who, when words could be articulated, would question everything around her.
At the age of two, she was able to comprehend the fact that she could ask for a sibling. As if that’s all it took to have one. That grocery trip was very memorable. Eddie began to drive away from the store when Arwen asked "Where's my baby?"
Now as she turned five, her observant nature continued to create milestones as she asked yet again, "How much longer until I can have my baby?"
You were brushing out her hair, helping her get ready for her second week of kindergarten. She asked while looking at you through the reflection of the mirror. Her beautiful brown eyes wide as she tapped her legs at a steady tempo, fighting the urge to move as you fixed her hair.
"What do you mean, sweetie?" You asked with a slight smile.
"You've been sick. Heather's mommy said she was very sick when Heather had her baby brother."
You've yet again been left speechless. You have in fact not felt well the past few days. Something was off. They say children and animals know first...
"Well, uh, Arwen... As soon as mommy knows she's having a baby, I'll be sure to tell you. But you can also get very sick for other reasons too. Like eating too much sweets after dinner." You nudged her, giving a knowing look in the mirror. She gave a nervous smile. She's been caught.
"But daddy said I could have them." Your change in topic worked well as you finished putting her curly hair into a loose ponytail.
"Of course he did. It's alright. As long as dad or me say you can. Maybe that's why I haven't been feeling well."
"Eating too much sweets?"
"Eating too much sweets.” You confirmed. “Now let's go. You don't need to start your tardy record this early on in your academic career."
•••••••••••••
You got back into your car after dropping Arwen off for school. Her words seemed to haunt you as you began your trek to the general store.
This trip was originally suppose to be to pick up a few items needed to make dinner and more toilet paper. Now you couldn’t help but steer into the aisle that held the item that might confirm or deny the lingering question in your head. “Was Arwen right about me being pregnant?”
Aimlessly walking through the aisles, you kept thinking through the ‘what if’ questions in case the test does come back positive.
What will eddie say? are we ready? is arwen really at the age to handle a sibling? do we need to move into a bigger house?
The one thing that you didn’t necessarily care about in Hawkins was that everyone talked. You knew that if you were picking up a test and anyone saw you checking out with it, people would talk. Not that you cared, it came with the territory, but it made it real. You grew up here along with Eddie. Eddie was always the talk of the school. Apart of you was always scared, despite being out of high school, of anything causing Eddie or his family to be in the center of the towns gossip.
You picked the most discreet package and quickly checked out with the cashier you knew the least. It felt stupid, but you always wanted to do what you could to keep your life more private in the drama filled town called Hawkins.
With groceries for dinner, toilet paper, chocolate and a pregnancy test, you left bradley’s big buy and headed to the house.
••••• | | ••••••
Two lines.
You couldn’t believe it.
Two lines.
You were expecting another child. Joy clearly painted on your face as your mind raced off all the ways to tell your husband. All the jokes of starting a family band. All the times Arwen asked for sibling.
After pacing the bathroom over ways to tell Eddie, you finally figured it out. Eddie would pick Arwen up from school and they’d both be home in about an hour. It was perfect.
••••••••••
The door opened and you could hear your daughter running into the house as her sneakers squeaks through the halls.
“Hi mommy, we’re home!” she yelled.
You were in the kitchen starting the preparations for dinner. You listened out for Eddie as you continued to hum to yourself, cutting up some carrots. You couldn’t hide the smile that came from the anticipation of sharing the news to your husband and daughter.
“Hey sweetheart,” Eddie entered the kitchen and went straight to wrap his arms around you. You continued to cut up the vegetables. “How was your day?”
Your husband smelled like fuel, forest mint shampoo and a touch of cigarettes. It was a scent you became familiar with and it suited him. He worked at the local repair shop and the fumes always seemed to linger home with him. You didn’t mind it though, it was your Eddie.
You put your knife down to turn around in his arms and look at him. He had his typical messy work ponytail, the coveralls were unbuttoned and rolled to his waist so he was left in a white t-shirt that had some grease stains and his guitar pick necklace laid over the shirt. You could never get over how beautiful your husband was. Sure you agreed to other words, but beautiful was what came to mind in that moment. Maybe it was the hormones.
“Well hello to you,” you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. “Better now that you’re here.” You smiled.
“You know flattery gets me.” He smirked, giving you another peck before letting go and heading toward your room. “I’m going to get a shower real quick. I’ll be right out.”
While he showered you finished putting your dish together to cook in the oven for an hour. This was all the time you needed to share the news.
“Hi mommy.” Arwen said, following you into the living room.
“How was school, sweet girl?” You asked, hoping she’d ignore the guitar case that was randomly on the coffee table.
“Good.” she shrugged. “Ms. Jones said we’re doing a concert for veterinarian day.” Arwen smiled wide, showing off her new missing tooth.
“Veterinarian day?” You puzzled.
“Yeah! Where we sing for the soldiers of America.” You couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
“Do you mean ‘Veteran’s day’?” You pondered.
“That’s what I said! Veterinar-ran’s day.” Her furrowed eyebrows in confusion made you laugh even more as she didn’t see a difference in her words.
“Well that sounds like fun! Did you tell daddy?” You brushed back Arwen’s fly away hairs as she bent down to sit against the coffee table. Some of her coloring books laid open from her previous drawing session and she continued where she left off, clueless to the guitar case still.
“Yeah he said I’m going to get a solo.” She shrugged again so nonchalantly as she colored it amazed you the amount of confidence one 5 year old have. Well imagine having two.
That reminds you.
“Hey, Arwen, sweetie.” Your daughter looked up at you. “Would you wanna help me keep a big secret? I’m gonna surprise daddy in a second and I need your help.” You whispered. She jumped up and dropped her crayons with a big nod.
“Okay!” The giddiness expressed on her face was enough to make you cry. She scurried over to put herself between your legs as she leaned in to hear the secret.
“Remember you asked me earlier if I had a baby in my tummy?” Her eager nods almost hit your head before you leaned back a bit. You pulled out the test and showed her. “I went and got a test that tells me if you were right. Look, it has one line for no baby and two lines for yes baby. Can you count with me?”
Arwen was learning her numbers so it was important to find any chance to have her count. This seemed like a fun moment to remember. She stuck out her finger and pointed in the air as she counted out loud.
“One… Two… There’s two.” She smiled at the accomplishment of counting properly. By then, she realized just what the two lines meant. With a shriek that could alarm the neighbors, Arwen jumped into your arms and gave you the biggest hug. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” She repeated.
“Thank you?” you laughed. Those were not the words you were expecting.
“I wanted a baby sister for so long.” She beamed.
“Well I can’t promise a sister but we will see! Now listen, I want to surprise daddy but I promised I’d tell you as soon as I knew. When he gets out of the shower, can you keep a secret while I’ll tell him?” You made a shushing sound as you quietly put the test inside the guitar case. When Arwen realized what you were doing, she snickered to herself, covering her mouth with her tiny hands.
“Was that Arwen?” You heard Eddie say from across the house. Arwen looked at you with wide eyes and tan back to the other side of the coffee table to resume her coloring as you sat, pretending to open the guitar case.
“Yeah… She was showing me how she was going to audition for that solo you promised her.” You looked up at your husband who was now fashioning a pair of black lounge pants, a faded band tee and he was scrunching his wet hair with his towel.
“If that’s how you’re gonna sing I might need to take that back.” Eddie laughed. “Is something wrong?” He grew more suspicious. With hearing Arwen scream from his shower and then you messing with his guitar case, he was nothing but skeptical.
Your eyes grew wide as you noticed his eyebrows begin to bunch up the same way Arwen’s did just moments ago. “Yes, Arwen told me she put a toy in your case but I can’t seem to open it to get it out, can you try?”
Eddie looked over at Arwen in a slight disappointment of messing with his guitar case but you reassured her she was okay with a quick wink.
After sitting down beside you, Eddie gave your leg a pat and pulled the guitar case closer to him.
“Let’s see what toy you got stuck this time. If it’s Ozzy Osbear, we’re going to have to have a word.”
As soon as he said that, the clicks of the guitar latches undid and you sucked in a breath. The case opened and you could hear Arwen begin to giggle next to you but to you were too busy looking at your husbands reaction.
Eddie’s face was blank as he stares at the positive test sitting in his guitar case. The quietly controlled giggles from your daughter turned into a fit of laughter and cheers. She jumped up from the coffee table once more and wrapped her arms around your neck as you both waited for Eddie’s reaction.
He hasn’t moved since he opened the case, staring at what signified a new chapter in the book you called life. This was the exact opposite reaction he had when you shared you were expecting Arwen. Then, it was so sudden. You woke up one morning sick as a dog and Eddie suggested you took a test as a joke. When it was ruled positive, it was you that was silent. Eddie was ecstatic, jumping around your bedroom with hoots and hollers before smothering you in kisses.
Now he just stared.
“Eddie, you okay?” You finally asked. He finally turned to face you with an uncertain face.
“We need to move the band equipment to the garage.” He said, randomly.
“What?” you giggled. “We don’t have a garage.”
“Oh.” Your husband responded, contemplating. “Then I need to sell some of it or see if Gareth could hold some of it. We need a house with a garage.”
“Is daddy okay?” Arwen let out. She was just as confused as you were.
“Let him think it out, Ari.”
“Do we need a bigger car? I knew it was stupid to get rid of the van. Maybe a mini van?” Eddie continued.
“Eddie-“
“Did we get rid of all of Arwen’s baby clothes? Maybe we could reuse them to save-“
“Eddie!!” You caught his attention. “Hey, stop that smart brain of yours for one second.” You placed a hand on his cheek to which he had no choice but to lean into.
“You’re pregnant.” He said quietly.
“Yes, I am. And we’re going to have another baby.” Saying it out loud made it a reality and suddenly you couldn’t hold back the tears. “And you’re an amazing father because before anything you’re first priority was to provide. We don’t need a new house or a new car. You’re all this baby,” you pointed down to your stomach, “Arwen and I need. I am so thankful for you.”
Without another word, Eddie pulled you into a deep kiss. One that confirmed with you that he was just as happy as the day you found out you were pregnant with Arwen. It just caught him by surprise.
“We’re having another baby.” He repeated.
“I’m having a baby sister!” Arwen exclaimed. This caught the three of you in a laughing fit. Eddie leaned into you, wrapping his arms around you as he nudged his head between your neck and shoulder.
“Or baby brother.” You responded to which Arwen gave a grimaced look.
“No. A sister.” She shrugged.
“Whatever it is,” Eddie started. He pulled back to place a hand on your stomach, “Welcome to the Munson family band, kid.” He kissed your stomach and pushed back up to kiss you again. “I love you, sweetheart. You’re amazing.” He then jumped up to grab Arwen. “Let’s go, Princess. It’s time to celebrate! MOMMY IS HAVING A BABY WHOOO!” He ran across the house holding Arwen upside down. Her giggles faded as Eddie ventured to the kitchen for a celebratory dessert.
You took the test out of the case and followed after them. If this is what life was like with Eddie and your kiddos, you could totally see having more. Maybe it’s the high of the celebration or the deep love you had for your husband. Either way, it clicked…
You really did new house with a garage because your family, both chosen and given, was getting bigger no matter what.

The Red Dress - Eddie Munson
Summary: Eddie loves it when you wear your red dress, but he loves what’s underneath it more.
CW: 18+, Minors DNI, p in v sex, fem!reader, nicknames/pet names, no use of y/n, quickly proofread, i believe that’s it?
this is only my second time writing smut, so please go easy on me! ———————————————————————
Eddie decided to come over after his long shift at the body shop. You had on your red mini dress, one you knew he couldn't get enough of. You had put it on just for him. You hear a knock on your door, knowing it could only be the man you love.
"Hi, beautiful." He walked in and gave you a soft kiss. "I don't think I'll ever get enough of that."
"Hi, baby." Your hands went to his uniform collar as you kissed him back. "I'm so glad you could come over. My door is always open for you."
He was holding a bouquet of pink tulips. "Oh! Uh..these are for you." He smiles, handing them over to you. "I know pink is like, one of your favorite colors."
"They're beautiful, thank you baby." You begin to blush, trying to hide the matching pink in your cheeks. "Would you like to change into something more comfortable?" You had kept a few pieces of Eddie's clothes at your place, knowing how much he comes around.
"Sure, same drawer as always?" He began to zip down his coveralls, making you feel flustered at the sight of his bare chest.
"The left side, second one down, yes." As he leaves, you put the flowers into the vase. A few minutes later, he comes back out in an old black T-shirt and sweatpants.
"You know how much I love that red dress, do you?" He comes out of your bedroom, tying his hair up. He grabs your waist and holds you close. "Hey. You're the girl I've dreamt about in my dreams. I'd do anything to make you happy, nothing in this world is too much for me to do for you." He kisses your cheek. It's obvious he can't stop staring at you in your red dress. "I love you. I love talking to you, I love being with you, I love looking at your gorgeous smile, I love holding your hand. I love everything about you. I love you with every fiber of my being." He grabs your hand and brings it up to his lips, peppering it in soft kisses.
You take your free hand and run it through his hair. "I never want us to be apart. I'm so lucky I'm right here with you right now."
He takes your hand and leads you into your bedroom, closing the door. He can't help but stare at your twinkling smile. He gently lays you on your bed and he lays beside you. "Do you want to know something else I love about you?"
"What?" You ask playfully.
"When you give me that look." He smirks. "You know the look I'm talking about. The one you always give me. That sweet, lovable, gaze you give me makes me feel like the luckiest man in the world. I could stare at your smile- your eyes all night." He slowly leans towards you and begins to kiss your lips. "And if you haven't heard, I love this red dress on you, s-so fucking much. But, I would love you better without it."
He pulled away from the kiss to look for your approval. Your face became flushed. He was sporting a huge smirk that made you immediately want to throw away any dignity you had left.
"I'd love to see you without your red dress, I won't lie." He whispered, his hands moving down to your waist. You're urgent to kiss him even more, even more passionately than before. His lips travel from your cheek, to your neck, then to your collarbone. You run your hands through his hair. He slowly moves his lips to your chest.
"Is this good, baby?" He continues to kiss you as he wraps his arms around your waist, so he's on top of you. He holds both your hands as he keeps kissing you.
"Mhm." You sit back and let him take over. He seems to know what he's doing. "I can't express enough how much I think about you when you're not here."
"Are you enjoying this, my sweet girl?" He bites your collar bone gently before resuming to give you kisses.
"Would you like to take my pretty red dress off?" You ask with a smirk. You love to be a tease to him. You knew exactly what you were doing.
"I would." He pulled away, looking you up and down, and then looking into your eyes. "I would love to see what's underneath." He begins to unzip your dress, pulling it down your shoulders before taking it off entirely. Your dress being taken off reveals your matching red panties, which you knew would make him go crazy.
You blush, feeling so vulnerable around the only man you've ever loved. You look at him and gently tug on the edges of his T-shirt. "May I?"
"Mhm." He nods, stroking your hair. "You're so beautiful when you blush." He says in a low voice.
After you take his T-shirt off, you run your hands over his tattoos. He lays back on the bed, completely shirtless, still staring at you. You place his T-shirt on the floor, next to your dress.
"I like the view." He shyly jokes as he continues to admire you. "I could look at you forever and never get tired." He gestures to his jeans. "Would you like to do the honors?"
You start to unbutton his jeans while Eddie continues to admire you. "You aren't too bad yourself." You joke back, tossing the pair of jeans next to the other discarded clothes.
"You're a dream come true. You have the prettiest eyes, the softest lips." He leans in and kissing your lips gingerly. He once again lays you down, getting on top of you. His gentle kisses become more passionate as he creeps down your your neck, then your chest, and then approaching the top of your red panties.
"I knew how much you like me in red." You grin. "I figured it would make you go crazy."
"It worked." He chuckled. "God, you're so good to me."
"May I take your boxers off, you can take my panties off?" You run your hands through his hair while he continues to give you kisses all over your body.
He gently nods. "How about we just take yours off? Hmm?" He looks into your eyes, waiting for an answer.
"Mhm." You softly moan. "But why not yours too?"
He leans over and begins to take them off your body, adding them to the pile. "I know you've been wearing these for me."
He begins to spread your legs apart, giving you intimate kisses on the insides of your thighs. He can sense you're shy and a little bit nervous. "Tell me the truth, are you nervous?"
"How can I not be nervous? My boyfriend I love so very much is staring directly at the most intimate part of me right now."
"You have nothing to be nervous about." He runs his hands down your body, landing on your thighs and lifting them up over his shoulders. "You're going to need all the help you can get, I don't plan on stopping anytime soon." He gave you a mischievous smirk. "Would you like me to move my lips? Tell me what you're feeling."
"Please move your lips." You tilt your head back. "I'm feeling like I want you. Like I need you, Ed's."
"I think I know where you'd like me to move them. I want you too. I need you too." He snickers before moving down, leaving a trail of kisses right up against your cunt. His hands travel lower as you begin to take off your bra, feeling truly exposed and vulnerable.
He looks up, seeing your bare chest for the first time. Sure, you've been intimate with him multiple times before. But this is the first time he'd ever seen you fully naked, he wants to take everything in.
You run your hands through his hair, feeling every curl under your touch. "Eddie? I want you to fuck me." You finally whisper.
Eddie chuckled softly and looks at you lustfully. You know this is what he's been wanting to hear. He pulls away from your thighs and begins to kiss your lips once more. As the kissing progresses, you begin to feel a hardness against your thigh.
"Shit." He groans under his breath while you begin to take his boxers off. "Oh, fuck."
You chuckle, throwing the boxers to the side. His cock already leaking. He begins to slide in, you both moaning in ecstasy.
"Fuck! You feel so amazing princess." His one hand grabs your thigh and his other caresses your stomach. You grab a fistful of your bedsheets. His eyes are full of love and desire just from seeing you in pure pleasure and ecstasy.
"You're so good to me." You mumble as he picks up his pace, pumping in and out quicker than before.
"If I'm only half as good as you are to me, I'm doing something right." He seems filled with passion as he admires your body. "You look so sexy like this. You have a body that could steal a man's soul."
All you could make out were screams of his name accompanied by moans.
"Oh god, sweetheart. I love you, I really really love you." His hands move to your chest. "You're the most incredible girl I ever met, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, treat you the way you deserve. Let everyone know you're mine. Mine forever, fuck." His movements become sloppy, and so do yours. "You are my princess, so I'm always gonna treat you like one." Hearing the only man you've ever wanted to marry talk about you this way has made you come undone, onto him.
"Fuck." He sighs, collapsing next to you. You look at each other and immediately begin to break out in giggles. He makes sure you are both fully covered and comfortable under the blankets, before he begins to cuddle you. He caresses the sides of your body while you both drift off to sleep.

i'll be home for christmas
summary | it’s your first christmas when your newborn and now your first christmas without eddie
pairing | eddie munson x fem!reader
warning | angst, fluff ending, eddie is a simp for his wife and baby
word count | 1.5k
“Can you try to put the star up, bubba.” Your eight month old baby, Liza, was in your arms with the Christmas star in her hands. It was the first weekend of December and that was the time that you and Eddie would decorate for Christmas.
Though you weren’t tall enough to reach the top of your overly large tree you chose this year, and Liza’s arms were still so small, so the star ended up on a branch, a couple inches from the top.
“Good job.” You cooed, Liza babbled, pointing towards the star. “That’s right.”
The house was quiet, Eddie was the second leg of the tour for Corroded Coffin. It was his first tour back since Liza was born. After hearing that he would need to leave the day after Thanksgiving, for 3 months it broke your heart a bit.
Hearing the phone ring, you set Liza down in the living room, with all her toys around, keeping an eye on her as you answered the phone.
“Hello.”
“Hello.”
“Hey baby.”
You melted at the sound of Eddie’s voice, and though he was only gone for a week, you already missed him. If you were correct, he was in Las Vegas for the second night.
“Miss you.” You whispered, “I set up the tree with Liza and got her to put up the star.”
“That’s great honey.” His voice was wavering. Eddie hated being away from you and Liza. Since she was born, you could tell that it changed his whole world. “God, I wish I was there.”
You didn’t know what to say, starting to change the subject, “You get any photos with Begas showgirls?”
When you heard that the band was gonna be in Vegas, you started teasing about unleashing his inner rockstar hoe phase, something he completely denied because he had a beautiful wife and daughter.
“Yeah, totally.” He said sarcastically, “Went up to them and told them all about you and Liza and how I wanted a picture to put up on the fridge.”
“Oh my god, really?” You were just beaming at this point.
“No.” Deadpanned.
“You’re no fun.” You giggled. “I wish I could stay on the phone, but Liza is about to put something up your nose, love you!”
Eddie kept the phone to his ear even after you hung up, slowly bringing it back down. Going back to the bed, he looked at the photo of the three of you that he brought into the hotel when they checked in the night before.
It was Liza’s one month old party, something that your family did, a way of letting everyone meet the baby for the first time. Three of you were all color coordinated and Robin had snapped the perfect photo where Liza had her eyes open and was looking at the camera.
Looking back at the tour schedule, their last stop before Christmas was in Nashville, about 5 hours away from Hawkins. Eddie went back and forth with the band’s manager, Zack, trying to reschedule the Nashville show so the last show would be in Indianapolis and he would just take a bus back to Hawkins.
Zack loved you, he remembered how when he first met you, in the Hideout way before the band had any stardom. He could see how much the two of you were in love and how you were basically the band's manager before he came along.
“I wish Ed.” Zack sighed, “It’s too late to cancel and reschedule.”
Leaning back in his chair, Eddie looked up at the ceiling not wanting to cry. “Yeah I get it, I’m gonna turn in.”
They’d be on the road to Nashville tomorrow, only a mere few days before Christmas. Zack was able to send all the places they were staying so you were able to send a few photos to the hotel of you and Liza all geared up for Christmas.
It broke him when he saw the matching pajamas the two of you were wearing.
Coming into rehearsal when they reached Nashville, everyone could tell he was out of it. He was grumpy throughout rehearsal, getting into heated arguments when anyone who was willing to talk to him negatively.
Zack couldn’t help but feel like it was his fault. He always listened to Eddie talk about you and Liza constantly, saying how much you missed being away from the two of you especially during the holidays.
Being able to pull some strings, Eddie was able to switch some dates after Christmas so Eddie and the rest of the band could go home and spend time with their families.
Coming back into rehearsals, after getting off the phone with the rest of the management team, Zack saw Eddie getting into a screaming match with one of the people who controlled the lights.
“Eddie man!” Zack exclaimed, pulling Eddie away from the stage. “Let’s go out and take a breath!”
Pulling him outside, Eddie let a frustrated scream. “Fuck!”
“Hey, hey.” Zack grasped Eddie’s shoulder softly, “I know you want to go home and I couldn’t cancel the Nashville show but I was able to reschedule a few tour dates after Christmas.”
Eddie’s face morphed from anger to shock, looking at his manager.
“The next 5 tour dates have been rescheduled for after the new year, so after Nashville, we’ll drive up to Hawkins, hopefully we’ll be there by Christmas Eve and we’ll leave for North Carolina on the 8th, about 2 weeks with the family.”
Eddie could cry, saying nothing, he wrapped his arms around Zack, squeezing him tightly.
“Thank you.” He said sincerely.
Now he needed to tell you, he wanted to run to the nearest phone but once the rest of the band heard the news, they all said they should surprise everyone.
By the time the concert had started, Eddie was giddy, making it clear to everyone in the audience that by that time tomorrow he’d be home with his wife and daughter.
When Eddie didn’t call after the show, something you didn’t mind, knowing how brain was after any show, but when he didn’t call the next morning you were starting to get a little worried.
Soon it was noon, and still no word.
“Zack.” You said the manager’s name. “Is Eds okay, he hasn’t called.”
“Oh I’m sorry honey.” He said sincerely, “The guys went out for drinks last night, and they didn’t come back til god knows who, he’s probably sleeping, let me go check on him and I’ll let him now to call.”
Letting a sigh, knowing that he wasn’t in danger, you said a quick goodbye.
Christmas Eve, and here you were, worried about Eddie. You were sad, but you didn’t want to cry in front of Liza, though she was still little you could tell that she was grasping quickly onto her emotions and yours.
“Let’s hope daddy is gonna have a good Christmas, just like us.”
You were in the kitchen, Liza perched on your hip as you started to make her bottle when you heard someone knocking on the door. “Hmm, Auntie Robin might be early.”
Unlocking the latch, you opened the door expecting to see Robin ready for the playdate.
“Oh my!” Your hand went to cover your mouth, your eyes wide. Eddie stood on the porch, all in his glory. “What are you doing here?”
“Couldn’t leave my girls on Christmas.” He smiled, tickling Liza’s stomach, letting out little giggles, before wrapping his arms around you.
“Oh, this is amazing.” You could cry. Bringing your other hand up to his cheek, letting you caress his skin, you leaned up kissing him softly.
Feeling left out, you felt someone tapping on your cheek.
“Do you want kissies baby.” Eddie smiled, placing his hands under Liza’s arm, getting her your grasp, peppering kisses all over your face. “Dada missed you.”
Coming back inside, you couldn’t believe that he was home.
“How did this happen, what about the rest of the tour?” The three of you were cuddled on the couch, an old Christmas movie playing in the background softly. Since her dad came home, Liza was hyper to be with him soon passing out after her last bottle.
“Zack scheduled the next couple tours after the new year so the band could go home. The past couple days were rough being away from you even though we just started the tour but I didn’t want to miss Christmas with you two.”
“Well I like this present.” You smiled, snuggling into his chest. Resting your head on his chest, your eyes start to flutter softly.
Looking down, Eddie saw you and Liza now both passed out, both of you resting on him. Running his thumb over Liza’s forehead, Eddie leaned down to press a kiss to the crown of your head.
All the concerts, all the tours, nothing could compare to being home with his girls.
fin.

Arrival ❤️
Summary; Heavily pregnant reader waiting to give birth, anxious, overprotective Eddie and Kit excited to be a big brother to his baby sister a few days before your due date.
Warnings; So much fluff, Dad! Eddie, anxious, overprotective Eddie, more fluff. Minors dni
Part Two to Family
💕
If you enjoyed this pls consider liking, reblogging, etc.💕
I don't give anyone permission to copy, repost or reuse my work.
🌸💕
It had been two and a half years since you and Eddie had confessed your love and exciting things were happening.
The two of you had just married last year in a beautiful intimate ceremony with only your close friends and family in attendance.
A little after your wedding you had found out you were pregnant and no one was more excited than Eddie at the prospect of having a little one in the house.
There was exactly three days to go until baby girl Munson was here. Your due date was fast approaching and your boys were displaying different emotions now the time was drawing closer.
Eddie who had been uber-protective the whole pregnancy was even more so as the days ticked down, he was an anxious daddy-to-be and was impatient to see his baby girl.
Kit was equally as impatient as his dad but very excited too, he began talking about what he could do for the baby and it was very sweet watching him grow even more excited at the thought of being a big brother.
"Can she come out yet mama?" he whines and Eddie nods along with his son. It warmed your heart when Kit called you mama, you loved him and Eddie made it clear that he adored it too.
When it first started happening you thought your heart would burst, it happened so naturally and now he said it all the time.
"She's comfy in there clearly, but it's just a few more days until she makes her grand entrance into the world. Unless I go past my due date" you tell Kit and he pouts.
So does Eddie.
"Princess, I wanna meet our angel" he whines and you squeeze his hand while Kit gently rests his head on your belly and talks to his little sister.
She's full of energy today, kicking happily when she hears your voice, Eddie or Kit, she loves when the two of them play the guitar for her.
As Kit is talking to his little sister you feel a twinge of pain and wince. Eddie strokes your hair.
"You okay sweetheart?" you nod and just as you relax the pain comes again and it lasts a few seconds longer.
"Eddie, something is happening" You hisper and his eyes go wide.
"Shit! Are you in labour?" it's possible and you get up ruffling Kit's hair he looks worried.
"Is the baby coming mama?" you are about to speak when it hurts again.
"I think so baby, I don't think we have to rush yet" Eddie kisses your hair.
"I'll get the bag ready and phone Wayne just in case princess" you agree with this and as the hour passes the twinges get a little more intense.
Eddie has the bag all set up and Wayne is coming around soon, the three of you watch a movie and it isn't until you get up to get some hot chocolate that things ramp up.
"Baby, sit down I'll get you more hot chocolate" You smile and tell him to sit with Kit.
"I'm fine Eddie, I can get it" Just as you get into the kitchen you feel wetness trickle down your legs. There's a puddle of water on the floor.
"Eddie! My waters have broke!" The calmness you felt before gives way to anxiety and the prospect of giving birth.
Of course, you thought about it a lot leading up to this but you were trying to focus more on enjoying your pregnancy (the three weeks of bad morning sickness not so much)
"It's okay princess. Stay calm. Everything is going to be fine, I'll be with you every step of the way" he assures you and Kit who hates seeing you in pain.
"Mama will you be okay?" you nod breathing slowly.
"I'll be fine honey, don't worry okay?" Wayne arrives fussing over you but you reassure him all is fine.
"I know Kit will be worried but please try and get him to stick to his bedtime as much as possible, you know how much he loves to watch Disney movies so maybe put that on after his bed"
Wayne grins. "Darling we will be fine. You just focus on being calm and go have that baby yeah? Can't wait to meet her" You return Wayne's smile and and kiss Kit on the cheek, hugging him tightly.
It's not often you and Eddie are both away from him, maybe for date night or when he stays the night at Wayne's or Steve and Nancy's but it's not possibly days away.
Eddie is next for the cuddles and you struggle to hide your tears, when you are outside Eddie kisses your forehead.
"He will be fine princess" you let his words sink in and squeeze his hand as another contraction hits.
Better get moving.
💕💕
The drive to the hospital was a fast one, Eddie had a few choice curse words for some of the very slow drivers.
All the while you battled your contractions which had gone from not too bad on the pain scale to hurting like a bitch.
Once you got into the hospital and into a room everything felt more real and you were anxious as hell but couldnt wait to meet your little girl.
Eddie wouldn't leave your side and did anything to help you feel comfortable. Whatever you wanted he got and you did your best to stay as calm as possible.
You read a little and Eddie put on your favourite movie and the hours seemed to tick by slowly.
As time past your contractions became closer and closer together and your doctor was telling you it was time for the baby to come.
"Well Mrs Munson, looks like your baby girl is coming fast" Your grip on Eddie's hand tightens and he smooths your hair away from your face.
"You got this princess, you're badass and amazing and beautiful and this baby is going to be the luckiest little girl ever" his words make you tear up but you're quickly distracted as Doctor Green tells you to push.
It feels like hours as you push, the pain has you gripping onto Eddie's hand for dear life, not once does he wince or complain, he just strokes your hair and cheers you on.
"Come on sweetheart, one more push, just one more. You can do this" he urges and with all your strength you push one last time, a piercing cry fills the air and there is your little angel.
Eddie is crying, your crying. She's perfect.
Doctor Green takes her away for a moment and Eddie cuts the umbilical cord, gently holding baby girl Munson, he's holding her like she's the most precious thing in the world, she is so precious.
Ever so tenderly he hands her to you and the rush of love you feel is overwhelming, wonderful.
"Hi baby, I'm your mama" Eddie holds out his pinky finger and she latches onto it with her tiny hand and it melts your heart.
Eddie's eyes fill with love. "Jesus" he sobs as he looks at her in awe then he looks up at you.
"I love you so much, princess" You stroke his cheek and kiss him softly.
"I love you too Eddie" he's beaming with happiness.
"She's an angel, let's have another one sweetheart" this makes you giggle.
"Definitely in a couple of years stud" he looks delighted at this and holds you close to him as you both stare at your little bundle of joy.
💕
Eddie was in love, he had his little princess in his arms while you rested and he was so full of love for you, little Willow and Kit.
His family, his beautiful family that he couldn't believe he had, sometimes he had to pinch himself at how much of a lucky bastard he was.
You had been at home for over a week now with Willow and she was doted on by everyone. Kit was taking his big brother role very, very seriously and rarely left your side or Willows.
Pretty much like Eddie himself who was very protective of his girls.
Willow moves around for a second, her face scrunching up for a second as a soft cry escapes her lips, he rocks her gently and she quietens, her lips forming an oh shape as she sleeps soundly.
He sings to her, a lullaby his mother and Uncle Wayne sang to him when he was little.
He wishes his mother was still alive, and wonders what she would think of Willow, of you, she would love you both he has no doubt.
Your arms slip around his waist and he smiles at you, his heart bursting with love.
"Get some rest sweetheart. I've got her" You settle beside him.
"Wanted to hear you sing" this makes him smile and he carries on singing, eventually Willow is lulled into a deep sleep and he places her in her crib.
You're dozing too and the sight is so fucking cute, he guides you back into bed, curls up beside you and wraps his arms around you as you fall asleep on his chest.
His last thoughts are of you, Kit and Willow before he falls into a deep slumber himself

Eddie’s son James can’t control his transformations
Vampire!Eddie Munson x F!Reader
Fluff
Dressed in her husband's shirt and a pair of grey sweatpants, Y/N sat on the couch. Her H/C hair pulled back into a messy bun. She cooed at her baby as he drank from a bottle.
She looked up when a bat flew through the open window. In a blink of an eye, a human man appeared. He smiled at his wife and child, sharpened canines on display.
"Little Man turn again?"
"Yeah." She looked down at the bat swaddled in her arms. "He went down for a nap and woke up a bat."
Eddie walked towards them and took a seat beside his wife, his arm draped behind them over the back of the couch. He ran a ringed finger down his child's snout.
"He'll get the hang of transforming." He grinned. "Won't you, Junior."
As he fed, James blinked at Eddie.
"He agrees with me."
"I don't doubt it," she replied. "I just hope he does before Steve has to babysit."
Eddie's eyes lit up. "Oh that would be -"
She narrowed hers at him. He swallowed.
"Bad," he finished. "That would be bad."
"Nice save. For that, you can burp James while I take a bath."
"You mean I don't get to watch," he whined.
"Nope," she replied as she gently placed their son in his arms. She gave him a smile and kissed the tip of his nose while he pouted.
"Love you."
"Yeah. Love you too," he mumbled as she stood up to walk to the bathroom. He looked down at James who was now human. "Well, look who decided to turn back. C'mon, Kid. Let's do your thing."

november rain |ex-husband!eddie munson x ex-wife!reader|
prompt: after your divorce to eddie, you try to get back out there. but sometimes, nothing beats what you already have.
contains: smut minors dni. mom!reader x dad!eddie. divorced. mentions to past angst/ fighting. mentions of teen pregnancy. oral fem receiving, pinv sex. slightly angsty. asshole date, angsty ending. kinda a bittersweet fic. based off this ask <3
You could hear him before you could see him, speakers shaking from the noise in his car, leaving your ears buzzing at the vibrations. The swelling of your heart rose above the annoyance you tried to feign, rolling your eyes and hoping he didn’t see through it.
“You do realize I live in a subdivision? Neighbors and all?” You crossed your arms, glaring at him before he’d ever climbed out of the car, killing the engine and the music with the pull of his keys.
“Yeah? They don’t like Judas Priest?” Eddie grinned, dimples deep, and you knew under his shades his eyes were bright and wild- the way they always were when they were teasing you. “I have Metallica too. I think I still have that Blondie tape you like in here too somewhere, if they’d prefer that.”
Your heart skipped, lips twitching in a faltering snarl that was slowly turning into a blushing soft smile. “You better not play music that loud when my babies are with you.” You huffed, hands moving to rest on your hips, the denim waistband of your jeans hugging you just right in your Levi’s- Eddie’s favorite pair. You knew it, and you didn’t miss the way his tongue ran over his bottom lip.
“Did you hear me?” You snapped, swallowing a grin. You knew he hadn’t, too distracted. “Eddie, I am serious, you will bust their little ear drums-”
“-I know, sweetheart. C’mon,” Eddie shook his head, pushing his sunglasses up, pinning his curly bangs with them. “They’re my kids too. ‘M not gonna hurt them, you know that.” The sun caught a flash of gold, gleaming just for a moment off his left hand.
Eddie was still wearing his wedding band.
Your stomach sunk at the thought, thumb absentmindedly twisting your bare ring finger. The divorce had been final for months- six, to be exact. You’d stopped wearing yours after the first. It was weird, not wearing the small band and ring you’d worn since high school- since Eddie proposed with shaking hands on your front porch after you found out you were expecting. He’d dropped the ring twice, sweaty and nearly sick with anxiety. Your mother told you that should have been a sign, but you found it endearing then- maybe you did even now.
“Where’s the rugrats anyway?” Eddie hummed, catching your glass door to hold it for you, letting you slip under his arm. You caught a whiff of his cologne, faint from the day, mixed with a cigarette he tried to mask from earlier.
“Jude’s playing in the backyard.” You stepped into the small foyer. Eddie had left it to you in the divorce, saying you were the only reason they got it anyways. There was always an eerie feeling that lingered when he came inside, a haunting reminder of a forever that didn’t quite succeed.
“He’s supposed to be watching Lucy.” You hummed, craning your neck to look out the window in the living room. “They’re hunting for bugs.” Your nose crinkled, leaving Eddie laughing.
“Bug hunting? Oh, they don’t know their Mama is terrified of bugs, huh?” Eddie teased, peeking out of the window to see the two kids, perfect blends of both of your features packed into two tiny beings.
“I’m not terrified. Well, of all the bugs.” You huff, rolling your eyes. “Spiders, yes, and I told Jude those were off limits or I was giving Grandpa Wayne back the bug catching kit.”
“You’re no fun.” Eddie shook his head lightly. “Scared of a little spider?” His fingers tapped playfully in a crawling way up your arm towards your shoulder, leaving you squirming away.
“Stop.”
“God, do you remember- what was it? Junior year? When there was a spider on your desk in Geometry?” Eddie laughed, grabbing his side at the memory. “And you shoved all your books off the desk in the middle of class?”
“Yes, and you and Gareth just laughed at me.” You fought back your own smile at the memory.
“Yes!” Eddie howled in laughter. “And Mr. Browcheski got so fu-sorry- freaking mad at all of us. Did we- That was when we got detention, right?”
“Yes,” You glared at him playfully, crossing your arms. “And I was about to have a nervous breakdown thinking about how I was going to tell my parents.”
“That’s right.” Eddie nodded slowly. “That was your first detention?”
You nodded. “I was a good girl until I met you, Munson. You’re a bad influence.”
“Yeah, can’t be all bad though, right?” Eddie held your gaze, stepping close instinctively. Your breathing hitched, his hand gliding over your hip, fingertips ghosting the bare skin above your waist band. “We had some good times too.”
Your head spun, dizzy with a clouding lapse of judgment. Eddie was pulling you in, hand sliding from your hip to the small of your back, holding you so close you were flush to him. His head was already tilting, ducking towards yours, ready to capture your lips and you’d let him. Of course you’d let him, you’d be lying to say you didn’t miss his kiss- miss him.
Lucy’s high pitched shrill had you faltering, snapping out of the haze, back into a damning reality. “What- Eddie, we-we can’t.” You took a step back, knees a little weak and wobbly from the adrenaline rush that always came with his affection. “We can’t do this.”
“Right,” Eddie swallowed, hands shoving in his pockets, cheeks blooming with a pink heat that burned through his body. “S-Sorry. I just- I got caught up in the moment. Talking about that. I just-”
“-It’s fine.” You muttered, pulling the back door open, a melody of Jude and Lucy’s giggles floating in. “Guys, someone’s here to see you.” You sing-songed in a happy tune, face lighting with exaggerated excitement. You were good like that, Eddie thought, still playing nice for the kids. Maybe it wasn’t playing, Eddie really hoped it wasn’t, though the rational side of his mind (and his friends) begged to differ.
“Daddy!” A duo of squeals and shrieks blended with bounding feet up the wooden steps into the house.
Jude came bounding in first, nearly knocking Eddie over at the knees when his small frame collided with him. “Wo-oah, hey, buddy.” Eddie grinned, tousling the boy’s wild curls, frizzy and matted from playing outside.
“Hi, Dad.” Jude beamed up at Eddie. He’d gotten Eddie’s lashes but your eyes. “We’re catching bugs.”
“I heard. Catch any good ones? Any centipedes?” Eddie grinned, bending down to hug the boy.
“No,” Jude’s face fell slightly in a frown. “But I did catch a ladybug for Lucy!” Jude bounced on his toes with excitement.
Your heart swelled, trying to wrangle the small girl on your hip, passing her off to Eddie- well, passing was generous, she nearly launched off your hip into his arms. “A lady bug?” Eddie repeated in a babble he still used with Lucy. She was still small, in his eyes, though she was growing every single day, she was still his baby.
“Did Bubs get you a ladybug, Lucy?” Eddie bounced her on his hips, tickling her sides so she shrieked with laughter.
“Yeah,” Lucy giggled, leaning back to look at Jude in a limp sort of backbend. “Jude’s gots me a ladybug an-and we found a lot of worms.” She grinned, eyes wide and excited. She got her cadences from Eddie, that was for sure, more exaggerated and dramatic with each passing day.
“Are you going to hunt bugs with us?” Jude asked, pulling on the hem of Eddie’s t-shirt. “Will you? Please?”
“Yeah, of course, I will.” Eddie smiled, shaking his head softly. “Do you have a spare shovel for me? Can you go find the little red one?”
Jude looked at you. “I think it’s in the garage with the basketball.” You nodded towards the garage door. Jude ran off, footsteps heavy, Lucy squirming to get down and chase after him. “But- hey! Put everything back where it goes, Jude Wayne! And do not climb on anything!” You called after him, voice teetering on stern.
“I got it!” Jude called back.
Eddie’s chest puffed in boasting pride, grinning at the boy. You rolled your eyes, shaking your head. “Hm, wonder who that sounds like?” You said sarcastically, giving Eddie a pointed glare.
“That’s my boy. What can I say?” Eddie grinned, shrugging lightly. You grinned, shaking your head. “So, uh, where’re you going tonight?” Eddie tried not to sound so awkwardly needy, but it came out exactly like that.
“Oh,” You could feel your body stiffen, a warm embarrassed heat creeping up your spine. “I, uh, I- Well, I’m going out.” You paused, fiddling with straightening something on a shelf, anything to avoid his gaze. “I…I have a date tonight.”
Eddie’s heart sank, falling deep into the pit of his stomach. “Oh.” He swallowed the thick lump in his throat. “I, uh, I didn’t know you were… Ya know, um, gettin’ back out there.”
“Well, I- I mean it wasn’t exactly planned.” Your thumb went back to your ring finger, rubbing the bare skin there. You used to twist your ring when you were feeling anxious, a soothing mechanism.
“Lydia at work set me up on a blind date with her cousin. The-The accountant guy.” You cringed at your words, spouting in a word vomit that you couldn’t seem to stop. Your heart was racing, stuttering to a halt and rearing back with every fall of Eddie’s face.
“I-I mean, I just… She’d been asking me since-since,” Since the divorce, the words you couldn’t bring yourself to say. “A-And I figured why not. I mean…” You waved your hand between the two of you, the tension uncomfortable and thick.
“No, no, yeah,” Eddie nodded, swallowing back a burn of emotions he tried to conceal. “No, that’s- you should. Not that- I mean, you don’t need me to tell you that, but,” Eddie took a breath, finally meeting your nervous gaze. “You’ll have a good time.”
“Yeah?” You squeaked, wringing your hands anxiously. Eddie had flashbacks to years before, when you two were a lot younger, your nervous demeanor asking for his reassurance before sneaking onto the football field at midnight.
Eddie’s heart ached at the memory, but he nodded slowly. “Yeah. I mean, he’s lucky to get to go out with you. You’re… You’re the best, you know that.” Eddie reassured you now just like he did then, just like he always did.
“Thank you.” You whispered, turning just as Jude and Lucy came back in, triumphantly waving the red, plastic shovel. “I, um, I’m going to get ready. There’s a frozen pizza in the freezer. I’ll preheat the oven, if you can just stick it in.”
“I got it.” Eddie waved you off, forcing a reassuring smile. “You go get ready. Have fun, sweetheart.” His smile was warm, leaving you burning in excitement. Still, when he left, you were filled with a sinking, nauseating feeling of dread, nerves.
Heidi would tell you that you were co-dependent, that Eddie had made you that way. She never liked him, not in highschool, especially not after the divorce. She was always reminding you that you could do better, that you should do better.
That always sparked a fight, one of the many that you and Eddie had over and over and over. His accusatory tongue lashing accusations at you, your defenses climbing higher and higher, both too stubborn to let it go. You were reminded of the fight that did it- that caused the divorce. Days- no, weeks of back and forth.
“You know, there’s times I wish I would have skipped school that day!” Eddie roared, voice hoarse and scratchy from the screaming match you two had been having. “I was supposed to skip with Gareth, but I fucking went, and you know what? I wish I wouldn’t have! Then we would have never gotten paired up and I wouldn’t be dragged into all this shit with you! I wouldn’t be so miserable all the goddamn time!”
His words rang in your head, stinging just as much then as they did now. You took a breath, that haunting memory was the final push you needed to step into the shower, to get ready, and to try and start something new without Eddie.
“So, Lydia tells me you have a kid.” Matthew asked, swirling his wine around in his glass.
The restaurant was obnoxiously expensive, much more stuffy than what you expected on the first date. You felt terribly underdressed, in a sundress you hadn’t worn in years, fitting a little tighter now since Lucy. Note to self, go dress shopping next time.
“Yeah, I do,” You smiled politely, the tension still a little uncomfortable, unfamiliar. “Jude and Lucy.”
“Oh,” Matthew’s brows raised, tone clipping in shock. “Two?”
“Yeah,” You swallowed back that familiar burning in your chest, the one that always came with judgment. Raised brows and pointed glares, being pregnant in highschool, you thought you’d be used to it by now.
“Uh, how-how old are they?” Matthew asked, fingers tapping nervously on the table. So much tension, and you hadn’t even gotten your food yet.
“Jude is seven, and Lucy just turned four.” You felt your chest boast with pride. Talking about your kids, that could soothe you, it always did.
“Wow,” You weren’t sure how Matthew’s brows could go any higher, but somehow they did. “That’s… I’m sorry, you just, you look really young to have kids that age.”
“I am,” You shrugged sheepishly. “I, um, I had Jude in high school. My senior year.” You tried not to flinch, to steel yourself for the inevitable look- the one that always gave you.
“High school?” Matthew’s tone skittered on a scoff, leaving you burning with embarrassment- with shame. Why’re you embarrassed about it? Best thing that ever happened to me, Eddie would always say, scoffing nonchalantly when you were younger and someone gave you a snarling glace in the supermarket, two teens pushing a baby around in a shopping cart.
“Yeah,” You looked down at your hands under the table. This was what you dreaded, the ‘getting back out there’ phase. You had forgotten how utterly painful it was, worse now than when you were a teen.
“My ex-husband and I got married out of high school.” You continued, trying to break up the uncomfortable silence. “After- Well, before we had Jude, but after I found out I was pregnant.”
“Oh,” Matthew didn’t look at you, looking anywhere but you really. “That’s why you divorced then? Makes sense.”
Your cheeks burned with embarrassment. “No, no, that’s- that’s not why.” It wasn’t entirely true, at least, part of the reason but not the whole reason.
“It’s not?” Matthew raises a brow, scoffing with unimpression before downing the rest of his wine. “Look, I’m not trying to offend you, but I’m not dumb. Pregnant in high school, married the baby daddy because it was the right thing to do, right? And then what? Had another when things got rough to try and save the marriage?”
Your heart dropped, frozen in mortification, fear maybe, in your seat. “I’m right, aren’t I? I mean, it’s a tale as old as time, Sugar.” Your cheeks burned at the nickname. That wasn’t your nickname, not what Eddie called you, and even if he did- it never sounded condescending and mean like it did when it came from Matthew.
“No shame in it, just own up to it.” Matthew scoffed, leaning back in his seat. You felt small sitting across from him, his lips pursed, rolling over your frame with such judgment it made your stomach turn. “Lying on the first date doesn’t seem like the best option.”
“Excuse me,” You swallowed, grabbing your purse with shaky, sweaty palms. “I have to go to the restroom.” You didn’t wait for his response, the sinking feeling in your stomach only worsening with every step towards the door.
The Hideout was only a block away, still standing strong on the outskirts of the newly renovated downtown. You were surprised it hadn’t conformed to the trendy chic wave that was hitting everywhere, but selfishly you were glad it stayed the same. The wooden booths and dollar drafts, just the same as they’d always been.
The corner booth in the back caught your eye, occupied by a young couple- barely legal looking. Probably snuck in here with a fake, buzzing with adrenaline and the thrill that they might be caught, sharing a pitcher. That was you and Eddie, not too long ago. He’d snuck you in on your third or fourth date. You’d never been so nervous, never felt so alive at the same time. A goody-two-shoes, Eddie called you with a sweet grin, sliding you a beer across the table and slipping in next to you in that booth.
Your heart ached at the memory, chest heavy with emotion. Why couldn’t he have just been better? Why couldn’t you just have been better? Why couldn’t both of you be better to each other, for each other?
The heavy weight of regret settled on your chest, mixing with the draining heaviness of the night. You looked at the phone on the wall, digging in your purse for quarters. You couldn’t call Lydia, not after you’d stood up her fix up, left him in the restaurant. Robin was undoubtedly not home on a Friday night.
Sighing, you cradled the phone to your ear, slipping the quarters in the slot, finger jamming the numbers. The line trilled once, twice, your fingers tapping on your crossed arm. By the third ring, you were ready to hang up, give up and call your sister.
“Munson residence,” Eddie’s voice was soft, still with that lilt of playfulness that made your heart swoon. He’d been so excited when you two got the house, when you got your own landline. He’d answered the phone all posh and silly, claiming you two were “high society” now, moving up in the world.
“Eddie,” Your breath shook, chest rattling when you heard his voice, a soothing force after the stress of the night. “It’s me.”
“What’s wrong?” Eddie snapped on the other end, not missing a beat. “What happened? You alright?”
“I’m… I’m at The Hideout.” You cupped your hand over the phone’s end, trying to muffle the loud music. “I just- Can you come get me?”
“I’m on my way.” Eddie didn’t miss a beat.
“Thank you,” You sighed in relief. “But, hey, don’t bring the kids. Please? I told them I was going out with Rob for a night out, and they’ll want to see her.”
“I won’t, sweetheart. They’re asleep anyways.” Eddie muttered. You could hear his keys rattling in the background. “Let me call Wheeler and see if he can pop over to watch them. I think he’s home for the summer. Gimme a few and I’ll be right there.”
“Thank you.” You whispered, nose burning with tears you couldn’t shed- you wouldn’t shed. Not again.
“C’mon, not a problem.” Eddie waved you off gently. “Hang tight, baby. Be there soon.”
You waited until you heard the dial line to hang up. Your heart sunk and fluttered at the same time, head reeling with a tornado of emotions that left you dizzy. Sinking onto an open stool at the end of the bar, you ordered a beer, the same one Eddie had ordered you years before. You didn’t care much for the taste now, your palette had grown and expanded since you were fifteen. But something tonight had you craving it, maybe craving the memory, the feeling that came with the first time you drank it. Chasing down a nostalgia that you didn’t want tainted.
Eddie was there before you could finish your second beer, only a few sips in. He slid into the chair beside you, hand gliding over your shoulder in greeting. He started to lean in, lips moving to brush your cheek, but he stopped himself before he could, waving down the bartender instead.
“So,” Eddie tapped the sticky wood top of the bar. “Bad date?”
“The worst.” You muttered, taking another swig of your beer. “Guy was a total ass.”
“Yeah?” Eddie’s jaw ground tight, flexing with protective anger. “You want me to kill him?”
You snorted, lips curling in a small grin. “No, he’s not worth that.” You hummed, propping your head in your hand. “He was just an asshole. A total fucking asshole.”
“What’d he say?” Eddie bit, hands buzzing, though he tried to play it cool.
“Oh, the usual- teen mom, divorced, so clearly I’m the biggest loser in the world.” You muttered, lip jutting in a pout, looking down at the ring of condensation left behind by your beer.
“He said that?” Eddie snapped, eyes widening in a crazed way you hadn’t seen in a while. “Fucking piece of shit, I’ll beat the dogwalking shit out of him-”
“-No, he didn’t. He didn’t say it like that.” You shook your head, placing a calming hand on his arm. “It was implied. He was… He was just not nice, and I felt like it was getting worse, so I left. Came here instead.”
Eddie nodded, the tension between the two of you a little uncomfortable. The bartender slid him his own beer, saving the two of you from the awkward silence. Eddie took his beer, tilting it toward you with a soft smile.
“That guys a fucking idiot. Doesn’t know what he’s missed out on.” Eddie’s lips were tight in a pain-filled smile he tried to force, but his eyes gave him aways. They always gave him away.
“Thanks.” You muttered, cheeks burning with a tingling heat. “How were the kids tonight?”
“Good.” Eddie nodded, swallowing his drink. “Jude found a centipede. Lucy was not a fan.”
You grinned. “I don’t blame her. You didn’t let him bring it in?”
“No. C’mon,” Eddie scoffed lightly. “No, I made him leave it outside. He wanted to keep it in his bug catcher, but I told him if it was meant to be his, it would stay. So he put it back in the grass.”
“Good. I’ll come looking for you if I see a centipede in the house.” You glared at him playfully. “Did you give them a bath?”
“Dinner, bath, even read them a story.” Eddie smirked at you. “I can be a good dad, sometimes, ya know. Not a total deadbeat all the time.” He teased, shoulder bumping with yours.
Your stomach twisted. “I didn’t- I didn’t mean it like that. I’m sorry.” You muttered, looking back at your beer.
“I was kidding.” Eddie said, setting his beer down. “Hey, I was just kidding. I know you’re just looking out for the munchkins, Mama.”
You swooned under his cooing praise, heart swelling with adoration. “I didn’t- I would never say you’re a bad dad. You’re not a bad dad, Eddie.” You met his gaze. “You’re the best dad to them.”
Eddie’s cheeks pinkened under your praise, chin ducking with a blush. “Thank you,” He whispered, fingers tapping the bar top. “Just a shitty husband then?”
You rolled your eyes lightly. “No,” You clicked your tongue playfully. “Not a shitty husband. Not all the time anyways.”
Eddie grinned, dimples deep, eyes brightening. “You had your good moments.”
“Yeah?” Eddie hummed, leaning in towards you. “Like when?”
You’re body burned, electric tingles shooting to your core. The look in his eyes, squinting just barely, lips pursing, tongue rolling over his teeth- a look you were all too familiar with. You knew better, knew so much better than to let him sway you, to give into your urges.
“Hm, I can think of a few times.” You purred, leaning in closer to him, lashes batting sweetly. “Maybe you could remind me?”
Eddie’s wide grin stood the test of time. The same wild, excited grin he’d give you years ago hadn’t changed, it still left you spinning, abandoning your better judgment, following him with blinders into anything.
“Christ, I fuckin’ missed you.” Eddie moaned, breathy and quiet, lips pressing to yours in fever.
You shuddered under his touch, his fingers circling your clit perfectly, expertly- he was, after all, been with you for so long, he knew exactly how you wanted it. The house was quiet, the drone of the TV on for background noise, hoping the kids wouldn’t wake up.
“Eddie,” You whispered, eyes rolling back, clawing his shoulder at a particularly perfect rub that had you seeing stars. “Fuck, that felt good.”
“Yeah? Feels good. I can always make you feel good, sweetheart.” Eddie muttered, wet smooches trailing down your neck, down your collarbones. “Want me to make you feel better? Keep you feelin’ good? Lemme make you feel good.”
His hands moved, pushing down your dress. Eddie looked, trying to will his mind silent at the sight of your matching, lacy set. It drove Eddie to his knees to see you in it, but his heart dropped knowing you hadn’t picked it to wear it for him.
He shoved the lacy panties down, letting them pool at your ankles, hands sinking on your hips. You wiggled, stilling your hips to keep them from bucking when Eddie kissed your mound, teasing kisses all the way down to your slit.
“Spread your legs f’me.” Eddie’s breath ghosted over your skin, a half grin spreading across his features when you kicked your legs open, arching forward for him.
Eddie’s tongue ran teasingly over your left lip, your right, before licking a long stripe right through your wet folds. In the past, he would have teased you, toyed with you until you whined and begged for him to fuck you. Back when he used to have you whenever he wanted, he’d lived for that, but now, he didn’t have that luxury. He had to make the most of his time now, at your call, at your service.
You bit your fist, trying to swallow back a moan that threatened to tear out of your throat. Your vibrator, tucked away in your sock drawer, could never replace this- replace him. His touch, the rush of endorphins that came from the pleasure he gave you, always eager to please.
Finger raking through his curls, you tugged him further and further into you, hips grinding on his face. “Th-That’s it. That feels good.” You whispered.
Eddie moaned, sending waves of vibrations to your core, knees buckling under the feeling. Your breath caught, head tipping back to silence the moans, ripples of pleasure crashing over you.
“Okay, okay, stop.” You panted, pushing on the top of his head, trying to writhe out of his touch.
Eddie’s face fell in hurt, in fear, scanning your features. He knew it was coming, the inevitable that you’d change your mind, tell him you couldn’t do this. “I-I need you.” His heart leapt at your words. “I just need you right now, please.”
It felt like a dream, having you wrapped around him in every way. Buried inside you, Eddie tried to savor the feeling, really feel you in case this was the last time. Your legs tight around his hips, arms around his shoulders, pulling him into you as he fucked you into the mattress- into the bed that you both shared for so many years.
Your nails clawed down his back, biting at his shoulder to keep yourself quiet, toes curling in pleasure. Eddie’s hand slid between the two of you, circling your clit as he approached his own orgasm. He knew you were close, knew everything about you.
“Fuck, you feel so fuckin’ good. The best, the fuckin’ best, baby.” Eddie whispered, breath hot over your ear, nipping at your ear lobe. Your body shuddered, hips bucking with pleasure.
“Fuckin’ missed you. Missed you- ah.” Eddie whined, nearly cumming when your teeth bit his shoulder, the spark of pain making his slops get sloppier and sloppier.
Eddie’s lips moved to yours, biting your bottom lip, sucking on it while his fingers slid over your clit until you were shaking, flooding over his length. Your grip loosened, melting into the mattress as he finished, drilling into you.
“Fuck, feel so good. Fuckin’ love the way you feel.” Eddie looked down at you, eyes glassy and dazed from your own orgasm, lips bitten from him.
A final pump, a final grunt, and he was spilling inside you, hips still slowly rolling inside you, dropping his face into your neck. You held him tight, muffling his moans into your skin. “I love you, I love you, I love you.” Eddie rambled, chest to chest, heaving and clinging to the other.
A feeling settled around the two of you after you broke apart, laying side by side under the sheets, the house still, quiet, filled with a tension you couldn’t quite figure out.
“I’m sorry you had a shitty date.” Eddie muttered, voice a little raspy.
“‘S alright.” You sighed, stretching under the sheets. “Ended pretty good, all things considered.”
“Yeah it did.” Eddie grinned softly. “Missed you.”
Your heart ached, sinking in your chest. “I-I think you just missed having sex.”
“No,” Eddie said firmly, shaking his head. “No, I-I missed you. I missed this, us.” He rolled over, turning towards you.
“Eddie-”
“-No, I just- I’m sorry, and I know I was a dick, and I-I did some things, but, baby, we’re good. We’re so good together.” Eddie whispered, reaching for you. “We’re meant to be together. You know we are. It’s always been us, it’s always supposed to be us.”
“We’re not good together.” You pressed your lips together, shaking your head. “We’re not good for each other.”
“Don’t say that.” Eddie’s eyes shined with hurt, shaking his head. “How-How can you say that-”
“-Because, we’re good now. Right now, but… but then it’ll be just like it was, and we’ll be right back to fighting.” You pressed your palms to your eyes, chest tightening with the post orgasm clarity, the realization of your mistake. You’d never learn your lesson, no matter how many times you’d go through this.
“Baby, we could go back to counseling. I just- We should try. I want to try, I want to be a family again. I want to be better this time. I promise I’ll be better this time, please.” Eddie reached for your hand, pulling them off your eyes. “Please, sweetheart, one more chance? I won’t… I won’t fuck it up.”
You squeezed his hand, body aching, yearning to lean into him. To agree, to nod and let him love on you, love you. To give him another chance, to see him wake up in the bed next to you, back in the house with the kids all the time.
But you couldn’t.
For them. Jude and Lucy had a hard enough time with the divorce, understanding why you two were separating. How did you explain to kids that mommy and daddy were like the weather; good some days, disastrous the other?
“I-I can’t, Eddie.” You whispered, looking at him with eyes shining. “Jude and Lucy…That’s not- This isn’t good for them.” Your breath shuttered, heart breaking in your chest.
Eddie’s own heart was breaking, you could see it on his face. “I just need time. I don’t know.” You admitted, swallowing around the lump in your throat. “But now, I just can’t now.”
Eddie nodded, swallowing around his own heart breaking. “Alright,” He nodded. “Whatever you decide, I’ll… I’ll always support you. I’ll always love you, too. No matter what.”
Your lip wobbled, squeezing his hand tight in yours. “Thank you.” You whispered. “I just need some time, Eddie.”
“I’ve got time. I’ll wait.” Eddie nodded, pressing a kiss to your knuckles gently. “Always here for you.” He pulled you close to him, arms wrapped around your frame, squeezing you tight to his chest.
For a moment, you relaxed, let yourself feel at peace as he held you. Allowed yourself that selfishness in the still of the night. You’d stay like that for a while, until you sent him to the couch. “Things are confusing as it is for them. They don’t need to get their hopes up if they see us in the bed together.” And Eddie would do it, of course he would. He’d do it for you, for them, for the hope that he might one day get his family back to normal. Back to the way it should be.

Hey! I saw your post about requests and I have one (I will try to keep it short):
Reader feeling self-conscious after having a baby so they start to work out only for Eddie to watch like 🤤🤤 which makes them stop being insecure because he’s still clearly very attracted to this body.
Can be smutty or not, your choice.
If that’s not your thing no worries, have a happy Saturday!
Ooh, I love this one! Thanks so much for the request, lovely!
cw: MDNI (18+) unprotected sex (please don’t do this) body insecurity, mention of pregnancy, hurt comfort
husband!Eddie x wife!reader
It had been a couple of months since you had your baby and you hadn’t even thought of anything but her for the first few weeks. After you had gotten into a rhythm with Eddie of taking care of the baby, it gave you more time to think about things. Like the chores that had piled up. Your job that you needed to get back to. Your body.
It had been months and you had done anything to get it back to what it was before you had Charlotte. Eddie hadn’t said a word about it, but you were sure that he wasn’t in love with the way you looked, especially since there was a bunch of loose skin. Maybe that was why he hadn’t had sex with you since you the baby had come.
Because of that, you decided to work out in your home gym while Eddie was at work. You put on your usual working out set which and noticed that it fit differently. The bra was a little tight and the shorts were shorter than you had anticipated. But, it was all you had, so you shrugged it off and headed down the stairs to work out.
The gym that you had spent so much time in suddenly looked intimidating. You hadn’t been in it since you had gotten pregnant since you didn’t have the energy, but now you were ready.
You put on your headphones and blasted the mix you usually played when exercising and began to stretch. You bent over and took a deep breath as you touched your toes. You then stood back up before bending back over and jumped when you felt a pair of hands grab your ass.
You whipped around and removed your headphones, turning to see your husband, Eddie standing behind you. He was still in his mechanic uniform and had soot on his face and all over his hands. He put his hands up in defense and stepped away to give you your space but you stepped forward.
“What’ya doin’?” He asked, taking the time to check you out in your very tight outfit. The way your bra pushed up your tits and the way your shorts hugged your ass in all the right places. God, you still had it.
“Working out. Is that a problem?” You put your hands on your hips, anger coursing through you.
“Not a problem at all, hon. I just-you’ve been a bit on edge lately.” You weren’t surprised that he noticed. He always payed so much attention to you.
“Of course I’m on edge, Eddie! Look at me!”
“I’m looking, honey,” he took you into his arms. “and I don’t see any issues.”
“Oh really?” You asked, pulling away from him, moving your hands to the lose skin of your stomach. “This isn’t an issue?”
“Not at all. You’re my honey and I-I love you just the way you are.” Eddie dropped to his knees and pressed multiple kisses to your stomach and hearing your laugh was music to his ears. “See? Love you and your stomach, bub.”
“Okay,” you laughed. “Okay, I get it. Now kiss me, please?”
“Already kissing you.” He pressed more kisses to the skin and it was cruelly making you feel better. Almost as if it was magic.
“I meant my lips,” you rolled your eyes. Even in a sweet moment, the man was so unserious.
“Which ones?” He looked back up at you with a wink.
“The ones on my face.”
“Gotta be specific. Could kiss every inch of you.” You knew that was true and almost wanted him to.
“I know you could.”
Eddie stood to his feet and wrapped his arms around your shoulders, pulling you into a sweet kiss, his lips capturing yours. Yours went to his waist, wrapping around them tight. As his lips moved with yours, all you could think about was his comment about kissing you everywhere. Maybe you’d take him up on it. That would surely do the trick to make you feel better.
You pulled away and he tried to chase your lips, but you kept your distance, wanting time to speak before he pulled you in again. He was always so good at doing that. Especially when you were in one of your silly arguments. He was always able to make you forget what you were even arguing about just with his lips.
“So um, about you kissing every inch of me…”
“You want me to?” Eddie’s face lit up and it made your knees weak at how excited he still was to please you after all those years.
“Please,” you begged and he was quick to pull you in for another kiss before his lips moved to your cheek and then your other one. Your chin. Your forehead. He then moved to your jaw and down your neck.
He got to your shoulder and moved your bra strap out of the way to get more access to it. He then moved to the other side to give it the same attention. His movements were slow and sweet and you could feel yourself getting wet at the feeling of his lips on your skin.
Once he was done with your chest, you lifted your arms up and Eddie pulled your bra off and his eyes widened as he caught sight of your tits.
“Fuck, honey,” he gasped, looking down at your chest. “You’re so fucking hot. Shit.” He bent down and licked a stripe across one of your nipples before bringing it into his mouth before giving it a suck while swirling his tongue around it. He then moved to the other one and did the same thing, wanting to give it the same attention.
“Oh,” you moaned. “So good, Eds.” He kissed all the way down to your stomach and pulled down your shorts to reveal your pussy. He lowered you to the floor and helped you removed your socks and shoes before fully taking off your shorts and tossing them behind him.
You slowly unzipped his uniform and helped him remove it before taking off his boxers and throwing them aside. You were so desperate for him that you didn’t even care about a condom. You would have been so happy if you turned out to have another baby. So lucky.
“Don’t have a condom,” he shrugged. “But I can go get one.”
“Don’t you fucking dare,” you pointed at him. “Need you so fucking bad, baby,” you whined.
“But what if-”
“I don’t care,” you cut him off, already knowing what he was going to say.
“So you don’t care about getting pregnant again?”
“Now that you’ve assured me that you really do love me unconditionally, of course I don’t care. Now please fuck me.”
“What the princess wants, the princess gets,” he winked and slowly thrusted into you, both of you moaning at the feeling of his bare cock inside of you.
He moved slow and steady and you couldn’t believe that you had actually gone so many months without him inside of you. It felt so good and he always knew exactly what you wanted before you did.
“Oh, Eddie,” you moaned and he smiled at the sound that he had missed so much. “Fuck, baby, right there, yeah.”
“Look at you,” he took your face in one of his hands and turned your face towards the mirror, forcing you to look into it. “See how fucking hot you look underneath me? Look at you taking me so well, doll.” You watched the two of you fuck in the mirror and were even more turned on, feeling yourself getting even more wet as you watched your bodies move together.
Eddie reached just to right spot and you turned back to him, your back arching in euphoria as you reached your climax, screaming his name as you did so. Afterwards, he pulled you to your feet and cleaned the two of you up before carrying you up the stairs so you both could take a much needed shower.

I loved your recent fic about mom!reader x dad!eddie finding out their pregnant. I would love to see arwen's reaction if they found out they were having a boy
notes: HI! sorry this took so long anon! this was my last semester of school and i stopped writing to focus on finishing up! i just graduated and sat down to start writing out some of these requests! i hope you enjoy! welcome to the munson family, baby boy 💛
“it’s a boy!! ” // e. munson
pairing: dad!eddie munson x fem!reader
word count: 2,325
tags: pregnant reader, dad!eddie, mention of eddie’s mom, arwen munson is literally my child, fluff, chosen family, all the fav characters make an entrance, uncle steve, gender reveal, spoiler it’s a boy, apart of my arwen munson universe!
quote: “What are you gonna do this time then? Aragon for a boy and Éowyn for a girl.” Dustin teased. “It would keep with the Tolkien theme.” Steve nodded.
This entire pregnancy, you swore you were having a girl. It made the most sense. The baby was just like Arwen when you were pregnant with her. Slow heartbeat, many mornings of sickness, breakouts. It was all the Old wives tales of having a girl. So when you found out you were having a boy… you were most concerned about Arwen’s reaction.
It was 4 months into your pregnancy and it was finally time for the appointment where you would find out the gender. With Arwen, you let the doctor tell you right away in the office. But this time, you wanted to know with the whole family. You had your ultrasound and asked the doctor to put the results in an envelope. The temptation to open it, the answer at your fingertips, was difficult but you managed to give it to Nancy Byers to complete the surprise.
The Byers were dear to you and Eddie. In fact, your entire friend group has become your own little family. With Arwen calling your friends Uncle Stevie, Uncle Jonny, Aunt Robin, Aunt Nancy, and all the boys. Sometimes she’d put an uncle in front of Dusty but for the most part, she just added a “Y” to all of the boys' names and called it a day. Nevertheless, Dusty, Lukey, Willy, and Mikey all loved her and treated her just like their own niece.
The plan was to have a small party with your friends and family to find out the gender of your baby and to have Arwen there with you to celebrate. Nancy offered to host at her house and Eddie thought it would be fun to do the big reveal with some color themed confetti. So off Nancy went with your results to get either pink or blue confetti poppers for everyone.
You drove home to find Eddie was still not back from picking your daughter up from school so you laid on the couch for a moment of silence. Looking down and rubbing your stomach you asked out loud, “what could you be? Can we agree no matter what, you won’t be called Eddie Jr. Don’t tell your dad that but it’s not happening.”
With that the door opened and the sound of Arwen’s jelly shoes squeaked through the house. “HI MOMMY!” she yelled, throwing her backpack down on the floor and jumping onto the couch to give you a big hug. With a huff, you greeted her back.
“Hi, Ari. How was school?”
“Good. I can count to 10 in ALL!” she said, sticking her hands up to count in what she meant to say was ASL. You couldn’t help but laugh.
“That’s really cool, baby! Are you ready for the baby’s party? Are you still sure they’re a girl?”
Your daughter shrugged, “they is.” You laughed at her incorrect sentence but ran a hand through her hair with a smile.
“I like your confidence.”
“Hello, beautiful.” Eddie called from around the corner.
“Hi, daddy-“ “Hey, handsome-“ You girls both responded. Eddie shook his head with a smile and leaned down to kiss your stomach.
“And how are you little Eddie Jr.” He leaned back up to kiss you.
“I love you but I’m not naming them Eddie Jr.” You said back, tapping his nose.
“Eddie Jr. is a boy's name. It’s a girl, dad.” She responded, sass laced in her voice.
“What happens if they end up being a boy, though. Remember we talked about this, it doesn’t matter we will love them the same.”
“I guess.” she attempted a smile. She was so adamant about a sister it wasn’t funny. Ever since her friend, Clara, told her she has a baby sister, it’s all Arwen wants. Of course it would be endearing to watch two little girls playing dress up and matching outfits but you also love the idea of a little rockstar or Eddie mini me.
“Well let’s go get dressed for the party!”
-
“Are you sure you’re not having twins?” Robin asked. You scoffed jokingly.
“Okay ouch, Buckley.” Clutching your stomach and turning away from her.
“They say the bigger you carry, the better chance it’s a boy. And a better chance I’m right!” She pointed at her “team boy” button Nancy passed out. You rolled your eyes.
“Glad you're here, Robin! We’ve missed you.” The banter ceased as you gave her a tight squeeze of a hug. Robin left Hawkins a few years ago to go “get a real life” as she puts it. You couldn’t help but notice how much she seems to make as many excuses for a visit. She misses home. And you all have missed her.
“If it’s not a girl, I am screwed because I lost the receipt,” Steve mumbled as he walked over to drop off his gift and grab a drink from the table.
“Just save it for the next Munson kid.” Robin remarked. “Or have your own.”
“Fair point.” He responds.
“Hi Steve, thank you for coming.” You gave your long-time friend a hug.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world, Munson. Wow it is weird calling you that. Still hasn’t settled.” He said.
“Hey, pretty boy!” Your husband wrapped his arm around Steve.
“Hey, man.” Steve returned the hug. “Congratulations on the baby. What do you think it is?”
“Little Eddie Jr. gonna be just like his old man.” Eddie shrugged before patting Steve’s shoulder and moving over to you. He wrapped his arms around you just like he did Steve but planted a kiss on your cheek.
“I-” you started.
“She doesn’t like the sound of Eddie Jr.” He answered for you.
“Still not sure on the names huh?” Dustin made his way into the conversation. The young kid with the pearly smile has grown up into a handsome young college graduate.
“It’s quite simple really. Robin if it's a girl and Buckley if it's a boy” Robin suggested.
“Why does she get her name honored like that?” Dustin scoffed. “I think I get some sort of acknowledgement toward a name. Thanks to me you're even together.”
“That is true… he was the one that made me apologize to you all those years ago and then you asked me out.” Eddie leaned into you.
“That’s not how that happened but okay.” You giggled.
“So Dustin if it’s a boy, right?” The curly haired graduate asked.
“Sure, kid.” Eddie messed with his hair like he did when he was in high school.
“We haven’t named our kids after any of you yet for this exact reason.” You added.
“What are you gonna do this time then? Aragon for a boy and Éowyn for a girl.” Dustin teased.
“It would keep with the Tolkien theme.” Steve nodded.
“Arwen got her name because Return of the King was the book she read to me while I was in the hospital. I joked that Arwen was a beautiful name and our daughter should be named that. There was a memory there.” Eddie explained.
“Still Tolkien.” Robin grabbed a cupcake off the table and took a bite causing her words to be mumbled, “What’s her middle name again?”
Arwen snuck into the conversation after hearing her name and leaned against her father who put his hands on her shoulder.
“What’s your middle name, Arwen?”
“Elodie” she said. “Like my grandma.” She smiled. Eddie smiled and kissed the top of her head.
“And you are beautiful just like her.” He responded.
Naming your daughter after Eddie’s mom brought a type of sentiment you didn’t realize Eddie had in his heart. He rarely spoke about his mom. You knew of his dad and the trouble it brought Eddie throughout his childhood but his mother’s mention was scarce. One day you asked Wayne about it. It was Wayne’s sister after all. He gave you a soft smile when you asked about her and told you how much she loved Eddie. She died when he was barely a teenager. That was when he was to live with his dad.
“She was always sick.” He’d say. “It never stopped her from showing up to all of Eddie’s events. First day of school, grade programs, his first talent show. But one day she got really sick and…” He would fade off. You knew what he was not saying. Later that day you’d ask Eddie to tell you about his mother and he finally was in a place to paint a picture for who this amazing woman was. Ever since then, it made so much sense why Eddie was the way he was with Arwen. It made sense why he would get extra precautious when you’d catch a cold or not feel well. Having Elodie as Arwen’s middle name meant so much to Eddie.
“Arwen Elodie Munson. That’s cute.”
“Okay Munson family, are you ready to find out if this baby is a boy or girl?” Nancy chimed, entering the backyard.
Eddie kept one hand on Arwen’s shoulder but moved his other to wrap around your waist. He gave your temple a quick kiss before patting your side. “You ready, sweetheart?”
You nodded. “You?”
“Always. Let’s go.” He let go and followed Nancy to where everyone was gathered. There waited Nancy’s husband, Jonathan, all the boys, El and Max, Joyce and Jim, your parents and Uncle Wayne.
Eddie squeezed you lightly and acknowledged everyone before saying a word.
“Thank you for coming, everyone. You all mean so much to us. I genuinely wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for all of you. Thank you for being there for me and my family. Man, we’re really getting old huh?” Eddie acknowledged your chosen family and looked back to you. “My wife is so strong and has helped me raise a beautiful and smart girl and I can’t wait to bring another baby into this world. Do you have anything you want to say?” He asks you.
“Thank you, love.” You responded. You looked out and it seemed the hormones suddenly hit because you felt tears begin to pour.
“You okay, mom?” Arwen asked, tugging your dress. A small laugh came out as you wiped your eyes.
“Yes, baby. I am just so thankful for all of you. You have loved me and my family and that is something that I am forever grateful for. This has been such a wild adventure and it’s only going to get better. Sorry,” you wiped a tear. “I blame hormones. Thank you everyone. Let’s find out what our baby is.” You laughed, getting a laugh from everyone else.
Nancy walked up to you with three confetti poppers. She gave your family the poppers and stood back. Eddie asked, “Alright final guesses?”
Everyone threw out guesses with a mixture of “A boy!”, “A girl!” “I don’t know!”.
“Arwen, when we countdown to 1, you're going to twist this at the bottom to send it off.” You showed her where to twist. She watched before holding hers to replicate you.
“Like this?” she asked, but she actually twisted it, causing the confetti popper to, well…
POP!
Shrieks came from all over but mainly Arwen who didn’t think she actually set it off. “I’M SOR- What?!?” she shrieked as she saw blue confetti fall around the three of them.
You were having a boy.
Eddie’s triumphant screams mixed with Arwen’s cries of disappointment was a sound you’d never forget. It made you want to laugh at the exact opposite reactions but you felt bad for Arwen. She was so excited for a little sister and her young brain couldn’t comprehend the fact it wasn’t something you could control.
The rest of your chosen family cheered, especially Robin who held her hand out to Steve waiting for him to pay her for winning their bet.
“It’s a boy!” Eddie stopped jumping around long enough to grab you and give you a big emotional kiss. You placed your hands over his and kissed him back with equal joy.
“It’s a boy” I say back, smiling. You hoped your son looked everything like your husband. His big brown eyes, his wife smile, even the curly hair that framed his face. Eddie was handsome and he was yours, it would be even more of a gift if your son came along to look just like him.
“I hope he gets your eyes,” Eddie says. You laugh as you were thinking the same thing toward him.
“Mom!” Arwen tugs onto your shirt, breaking the moment between you two.
“Yes baby?” you respond, leaning down as much as you can to her level.
“The baby is not a girl?” She pouted.
“No, it’s a boy. You’re going to have a baby brother! And hey,” You brushed her hair away from her face like you always do to comfort her. “You’re going to be the best big sister. Your baby brother is going to love you so much because you’re so cool.” You try to encourage her.
Finally, after a few moments of sulking, Arwen pulls out a small smile as she looks up at you. “Will he watch movies with me?” She asked.
It took everything out of you not to laugh at such an innocent question but of course you chuckled. “Of course, sweetie. He can watch all the movies with you.”
“I guess we can work it out.” She shrugs, trying to find a way to be excited.
“And, you get to go help me pick out boy clothes. You’re going to be my helper getting him dressed.”
“Dress up!!” Arwen perked. You nod. “Okay, baby brother.” She nods back, gleaming at her new older sister's duties.
Time seemed to freeze as you leaned back up and relaxed in Eddie’s arms. You just stood there taking in all the emotions that surrounded you. Personally, you didn’t care if your baby was a boy or a girl, you just wanted them to be healthy and loved. Clearly, your son was both of those things.

Big thank you to my friend, V, for helping me out!
———————————————————————
You and your best friend, Scarlett needed a night out. You needed a break from the whole world after you and your longtime boyfriend, Ezra, had gotten into a huge argument a couple of days ago. You hadn't spoken to him since. And on top of that, you were mourning the loss of your father who passed away only a few weeks ago. Your night off from your hair dresser job was well deserved.
You put your hair in a high ponytail, and put on a white slip dress with red ribbon detailing.
You weren't at all a fan of metal music by any means. In fact, you hadn't listened to it a day in your life. You knew a white stain dress wasn't particularly in dress code for a metal concert, but you wanted to feel good about yourself for once and dress up. You and Scarlett only went because you wanted a night out and saw a poster for a band called 'Corroded Coffin' that would be playing at the local bar.
Halfway through the concert, Scarlett left with a random hookup. You stayed behind and watched the show. A bunch of metal heads were moshing in the small bar area. Apparently this 'Corroded Coffin' was the hot new band.
You decided to listen to the music from all the way in the back, not wanting to get involved in the mosh pit and the crowd. You honestly debated on just walking home at one point. However, the lead guitarist caught your eye. Seeing him play the guitar and sing really made you flush. Is this awakening something in you? You had always had a thing for the good boys. And the man who was right infront of you, currently perfectly a cover of 'Sex' by 'Motley Crue' was certainly not a good boy. You watched the way his hair looked as he head banged and moved his hands up and down his guitar, and it was like he was moving in slow motion.
After the show, you stood outside the bar waiting for a cab when all of a sudden a familiar person turned the corner. He had a cigarette in his mouth. He smelled strongly of smoke and cheap cologne. Nothing like what Ezra smelt like. But it was new, it was refreshing, and most importantly, it was hot. You stood next to him for a few moments, not knowing if you should say anything.
"You want a smoke?" He asked, his hand reached out with a cigarette.
"Sure." You didn't know why you agreed. You had never even smoked before. "Thanks."
He lit it for you and you deeply inhaled the smoke. Holding back a cough, you couldn't help but think of how furious Ezra would be with you right now. That image in your mind made you smile. You did it out of spite.
"You're the lead guitarist right?"
"Yeah."
There was an awkward moment of silence.
"Were you lost? The beauty pageant is that way." He joked, but when he saw you didn't laugh back, he gave an awful attempt to blow it off. He leaned up against the brick wall. "You don't look like you listen to metal. You are dressed way too pretty."
"You're right. I don't. I came with my friend Scarlett and then she left and-"
He interrupted. "I don't care."
You rolled your eyes in disgust.
"To clarify, its not that I don't care, I just don't want to hear your life story."
Wow. He was a real asshole. That definitely clarified everything.
"Anyways...your band is really good."
"Thanks."
"What's your name?"
"Eddie."
He was very short with you.
"So your band, who are they?"
"Wow, so many questions, sweetheart. Gareth is the drummer. Jeff, who's my bassist. And there is Vince, the backup guitarist."
You nodded. "Sounds like you've got yourself a good thing going here."
"Yes, we do."
You watched as he blew out cigarette smoke. You had always hated smoking, thought anyone who did it was disgusting. And there you were, smoking with a member of a metal band, in a dark alley. You looked down and put the cigarette out, realizing it had a phone number on it. You decided to slip it into your purse-you might need it later.
It was obvious you two had almost nothing in common. The conversation was about to come to a close. But you couldn't have that happen. A part of you needed to have him in your presence for a moment longer. You blurted out. "My dad died."
"Damn." It was obvious he didn't know how to react.
"I only came for a good time tonight."
"I'll show you a good time." He adjusted his stance. "You wanna get drinks? After we finish a set, we get free drinks at the bar." He looked up off the ground and looked into your sparkling eyes.
"I shouldn't. I have a boyfriend."
"Whatever, pretty girl." He stood up straight and headed back inside.
In a moment of impulse, you caught up with him just as he was about to head inside. "Wait, one drink wouldn't hurt."
You were right, one drink didn't hurt. Except for the fact that you had three.
"You're drunk, sweetheart." He ushered a glass of water to your lips, in an attempt to get you to sober up.
"I know, and it feels great!" You stumbled around the bar. "I hate Ezra!" You screamed out.
Eddie wasn't originally drunk, but his band started to play beer pong. The bartender had already cut you off, so you were content with just watching. No surprises, Eddie was really good. In no time he was about just as drunk as you were.
"Whooo!" He stood on the bar table, cheering.
"We're all drunk! I love life!" Jeff stumbled around.
Eddie jumped off the table and walked right up to you.
"What's your game, pretty girl?"
"My game? I wanna take you home." You shouted over the loud music in a drunk haze.
He leaned towards you and gave you a long kiss. "Let's make that happen then."
You lived with Scarlett and knowing her, she would already have a hook up there. So you decided to go with Eddie to his place. Eddie had his van there, but god knows how drunk he was. There was no way he could drive. He ended up calling a cab to take you to his home. You arrived to a trailer park and when the clock had just hit 2:37 a.m.
"This is my home. Home, sweet, home." He sarcastically said as he opened the door. He was stumbling around, trying to find the light switch. When he found it, you both squinted until your eyes adjusted to the light. "You know, y-you look alot better in the dark."
"You're still an asshole when you're drunk." You laughed slightly offended, neither of you would remember this in the morning.
"Are you ready for an after party, princess?" He took your hand as you both stumbled into his bedroom.
“Mhm.” You mumbled as he slithered his hands around your waist. His lips sloppily clashed into yours. As you kept kissing him, you felt something harden in his pants against your thigh.
Your lips still on his, he crashed onto the bed. You sighed as his hand made its way up your dress, his fingers dancing against the edge of your lace panties. You both needed each other. Badly. Eddie’s breathing began to pick up as he slid the soaked panties down. He threw them onto the floor next to the bed. He pulled away for a moment to unbuckle his belt, his black jeans falling to the ground. He kicked them off and placed them beside him.
You laid on your back, Eddie placing one hand underneath you. You pulled down his boxers to reveal his hard, leaking dick.
“Fuck, Eddie.” You whined as he slowly glided into you.
“Mmm.” He moaned, beginning to pick up his pace. “You have such a pretty pussy, princess.”
He threw his head back as you let out a louder moan, gripping a fistful of sheets. His free hand then made its way to your clit, beginning to play with it. His movements quickly became sloppy, so he must be close.
“I’m on the pill, don’t worry.” You managed to mumble out, trying to focus on getting close yourself.
“Holy fuck-” he groaned under his breath as you felt him coming undone inside of you.

rockstar!eddie constantly sending you dick pics and vids while he's on tour
18+ minors dni, smut, phone sex?, mutual masturbation?
it was something that eddie started, sending you a picture of himself, clad in grey sweats, his boner promiment in his pants, from there it turned more crude.
teasing turning into him jerking himself off, moaning your name in the background, "c'mon baby, gonna let me see that pretty pussy."
and who were you to deny the rockstar. your camera was propped, your legs spread wide, your fingers fucking yourself, the sound of you filling the volume, your hands pinching your nipples.
eddie let out a loud moan, seeing his cum release from the tip of his head, watching you squirt, squirt for him.
in response, eddie would send a video of all the cum that had gotten all over him and the bed, before turning the camera back to himself, whispering you a goodnight and saying how much he loved you.

Trick or Treat 🎃
Hello lovely, first can I just say I adore your writing and was wondering if I could request a Halloween one for Eddie?
You and Eddie take your twins out trick or treating for the first time. Maybe a family Halloween costume too?
Request by anon ♥️
Don't copy, repost, translate or reuse my work.
Fluffy family based fic ♥️
♥️
Meeting and marrying you was the best thing that had ever happened to Eddie and life got even better when you fell pregnant with twins, two adorable little girls.
Eddie loved being a daddy, loved his little family and doted on his three girls. It was safe to say you, Alice and Evie had Eddie wrapped around your little fingers.
Not that he minded one bit even if it was a source of good natured teasing from the Hellfire boys, who he still met up with once a week for a D&D session.
Eddie was an amazing father, at first he was nervous when you announced you were pregnant. Of course he was happy but he hadn't been brought up in the most stable household. Uncle Wayne was the only parental figure he had who was always there for him.
Despite his worries he eased into the role and doted on his girls, was very protective and the most amazing storyteller.
His stories were the highlight of for you and the girls, he told them nightly and he regularly acted them out with you. Alice and Evie hung on his every word.
He would read to them as well or join you when you were reading to the girls but he grew bored and embellished or told his own stories instead.
The twins were Eddie in miniature, all big brown eyes, dimples and curly brown hair. Like their father they also had a penchant for mischief and we're honorary Hellfire members as soon as they were born.
Eddie delighted in making them tiny Hellfire shirts.
Halloween was tonight and it was the first time you all were going trick or treating.
Eddie was a little emotional that his baby girls were growing up and you instantly comforted him, both of you wondering how time had flown by so quickly.
How were your girls already three years old? You couldn't believe it and didn't want to miss any moment of them growing up as it went so quick.
It was Eddie's idea to do a family costume. The girls were obsessed with Scooby Doo and Alice was determined to dress up in the Scooby Doo outfit she had seen at the store.
"Princess, we could go as Mystery inc. What do you think?" you nod excited by this.
"Alice and Evie would love it. Evie loves Velma and they have the cutest outfits at the mall.
"You wanna be the Daphne to my Fred? Eddie beams and wraps his arms around you, kissing you tenderly.
"Always but I think for this occasion you're definely Shaggy. The girls love your impression of him" he beams proudly loving making Alice and Evie laugh with his Shaggy voice.
"I'll rope Steve into playing Fred and we can meet up with him later in the night. He owes us for babysitting the six gremlins" you giggle and swat him playfully.
"Eddie, for the last time you can't call them Gremlins" he pouts and you hide your smile privaty agreeing with his assessment. You adored Steve's kids but they were a handful.
Now that it was Halloween you had been having a lovely day with the girls baking cookies and watching Scooby Doo and Winnie the Pooh all day.
Then it was time to dress up in your outfits and get ready for trick or treating. The girls looked so adorable in their costumes and are anxious to get out and enjoy the night.
"Daddy will we go to see Uncle Dustin, Uncle Steve and Aunty Robin?" Alice asks and Eddie nods as he helps her and Evie into their coats.
"Of course princess. Now come on spooky adventures await"
♥️
The four of you set out on Halloween night excited for what was to come. Alice and Evie are already hyper and hold their pumpkin baskets giggling and pointing to the different Halloween decorations on your street.
"Daddy look at the bats" Alice points them out to him and Eddie plays up his excitement but you see the slight fear in his eyes.
Even years after surviving the demobat attack, the upside down and the horrors of the past long gone and life peaceful there was still those rare times that Eddie wakes in a sweat and panicking.
That night was the worst of your life. You really thought you had lost Eddie and the grief was overwhelming. Thankfully, he oues through but it still haunted you at times.
Squeezing his hand you distract the twins and point to a witch on the roof of one of your neighbours house, she's on a broomstick, black cat in tow.
"Can we get a black cat mama?" Evie asks her big brown eyes pleading and you look to Eddie who's already melting at her puppy eyes.
He could never resist any of your puppy eyes or pouts and always gave in.
"Maybe Santa might bring you and Alice a kitty for Christmas?" you tease and the girls cheer at this.
The four of you go door to door and your neighbours are lovely, it's not long before the girls have full baskets of candy and their eyes light up as they show you and Eddie the sweets.
Eventually you end go to Steve's, the kids all play together before you all settle down to watch a cute and only slightly spooky film.
The kids eat a little of their candy as you and Eddie relax while talking to the gang.
🎃
Eventually the night winds down and you, Eddie and the girls head home.
Both of them are exhausted and Eddie carries both of them to bed while you get their pj's ready and have them all tucked up on bed.
"What about a story?" Evie mumbles sleepily and Eddie softens.
"Not tonight baby but I promise an epic story tomorrow" she nods letting out a little yawn and then she's fast asleep like Alice.
You cuddle into Eddie and he kisses your forehead.
"Uh sweetheart, I'm not very tired are you?" he raises his eyebrows and you grin catching on to what he's hinting at.
"Not a bit, why don't we go have a little Halloween party of our own?" quietly you lead him out of the twins room and to your bedroom stifling a giggle as Eddie kisses your neck.

Last Wedding Dance
Eddie Munson x F!Reader
Eddie wants one last dance with his new wife on their wedding day
Fluff
At the end of a long celebratory night, Y/N waved goodbye to guests.
Eddie walked over after he spoke with the band. His bow tie undone, white dress shirt unbuttoned three buttons, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows and his hands shoved in his black slack pockets.
He stood behind his bride and wrapped his arms around her waist. The embroidered lace of her gown tickled his skin. He rested his chin on her shoulder. “Did you enjoy your day, Mrs. Munson?”
Y/N leaned back against him with a smile. “More than anything.” She turned her head to peck his cheek, a red lipstick print left behind. “You ready to go?”
“Not yet.”
Eddie took a step back and grabbed her hand. He led her into the middle of the dance floor.
“Eddie?” She asked.
“I want one last dance with my wife on our wedding day.”
“Oh Eddie,” she breathed. “But what about the band? They’ve been playing all night.”
The couple looked at the band who gave them a nod.
“One more song won’t hurt us,” the Frontman said.
Her eyes welled with tears of joy as she mouthed a thank you.
Her attention was brought back to her husband when he pulled her into his chest. He grabbed the curve of her waist as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
As the band began to play, Eddie slowly moved them.
“Have I told you how much I love you?” He asked.
“Everyday, but I’ll never get tired of it.”
"I love you so much."
"I love you so much too," she said, softly for only him to hear.
They closed their eyes and swayed, even after the music stopped playing.

October 17th, 1985
“We’re gonna get caught, Eddie.” Your heart trilled, heavy and hard at a thundering pace, his hand holding yours so sweetly, guiding you through the small patch of forestry that led to the football stadium- you hoped he couldn’t feel how your palms were beginning to sweat.
“Who’s gonna catch us?” Eddie turned, chin hooking over his shoulder to give you a teasing grin. He pushed back a limb, unbothered that the branches were undoubtedly scratching at his leather jacket. “No one’s gonna be out here unless they’re doin’ the same shit we are, sweetheart. Promise ya.”
Your tummy flipped with an adrenaline rush of heat, squeezing his hand tighter, moving closer to him as the dirt path turned to broken concrete, the Hawkin’s High School football stadium vacant of light, but bleachers standing high in the moonlight.
Eddie moved towards the back side of the chain link fence, to the corner, heavy boot sliding under the exposed chain metal, lifting it so it peeled upwards. “After you,” Eddie bowed playfully, nodding towards the small gap.
Your lips twisted, heat pricking at your cheeks. “I should’ve worn pants, I guess.” You muttered, hands smoothing over the skirt you’d chosen instead, despite the chilly temperatures. You knew Eddie liked you in a skirt, eyes always lingering and flickering towards your exposed legs. Even before you were ‘official’, you’d always catch him looking during fourth period.
“‘S alright,” Eddie shrugged, lips puckering and pulling into a smirk he tried to hide. “Nothing I haven’t seen before.”
“Eddie,” You hissed, a trilling squeal of excitement in your tone, looking over your shoulder as you shimmied through the small space, careful not to pick your sweater.
Eddie grinned, though you didn’t miss the way his eyes darted, catching a peek as you crawled in. He followed you closely, expertly sliding in before the chain fencing snapped back into place. You wondered how many times he’d snuck in here before. Maybe he was the one who made the hole in the fence to begin with. If he’d brought any other girls with him before.
Eddie’s hand found your back, sliding over to your hip, pulling you close into him. “See? No one’s here.” Eddie nodded, motioning towards the empty rows of bleachers, the vacant football field. “You can relax now, baby, told you no one would be here.”
“Yeah?” You hummed, leaning into his chest, warm cotton brushing your skin. “Guess I should trust you. Seems like you’ve done this a few times before.”
Eddie’s chest rumbled with a laugh, squeezing the fat of your hip. “Only a few.”
“Yeah? With who?” You scoffed lightly, brows pinched when you looked up at him.
Eddie’s brows raised in amusement, lips rolling and biting back a grin. “Really hot chick, ya know? Her name was Gareth.” Eddie snorted in laughter. “I’ve only been here one time, last year with Gareth. We spray painted Kimmy Frank’s number on the field, wrote ‘call for a good time’ under it after she stood Jeff up at homecoming.”
“That was you?” You gawked.
“Yeah,” Eddie smirked proudly. “She deserved it. Asked him out and got him all excited, then laughed at him when he showed up. Said it was a dare and called him names. Really fucked him up, ya know? So we thought we’d embarrass her.”
“It definitely worked.” You muttered, passing the twenty yard line that stood out from the others with a fresh coat of paint, from Eddie and Gareth’s handiwork. “Didn’t the Franks have to change numbers because so many people were calling?”
“Yeah,” Eddie snorted with a laugh. “I might’ve put it in the stall at The Hideout, too.”
Your heart skipped, stomach dropping with the same prickling rush of fear and excitement it always did when you were with Eddie. The head reeling, mind numbing kind of rush that had you brainlessly going into any situation with him.
“Here,” Eddie pulled you from your own thoughts, stopping at the center of the field. “This feels like a good spot.”
“Eddie-” You looked around, towards the fence then the other side. You were so exposed, right in the middle of the field, for anyone to see.
“-Baby, I told you, no one’s gonna come. Believe me.” Eddie hummed, shimmying off his jacket. “It’s not like this is Fort Knox or somethin’. It’s a public high school. No one’s giving a shit who’s here.”
You bit at your lip, rolling it around as you tugged at your fingers, a nagging feeling in the pit of your stomach. It had been growing and growing since you first decided to sneak out, after your parents had gone to bed, slipping through the window and running down the quiet street towards Eddie’s can parked on the corner.
“C’mon,” Eddie muttered, cold hands catching your jaw, the metal of his rings meeting your own wind bitten cheeks, pulling you into him. “I’m not gonna let you get in trouble.”
“I feel like you are the trouble.” You muttered, your body betraying your brain, letting yourself slip into his hold, hands pulling at his shirt.
Eddie grinned, lips barely brushing before they captured yours, pulling you into him. Hands pulling at your clothes, your hips, sinking onto the cold grass. Eddie laid you back on his leather jacket, a gentleman, you mused. Shoving his pants and boxers around his thighs, he flipped your skirt up, lips still pulling at yours as he rutted into you. Your head spun, dizzy with excitement and pleasure, fists balling at the fabric of his shirt, hoping the sun would stay gone forever so the night would never end.
July 28th, 1986
“Holy shit,” Eddie muttered, cradling the can of Similac. “Is there not a knock off version of this?”
“No,” You hissed, rocking Jude close to your chest.
You could feel the judging eyes of the couple beside you. Their baby in a stroller, cart full of diapers and groceries, the woman’s left hand adorning a rather large diamond, the man clean cut in a suit and tie. The polar opposite of you and Eddie, two scraggly looking teens with a two month old baby, and an empty cart.
“Are you sure you don’t want to just get some of Marsha’s milk?” Eddie asked, turning to look at you. “She said she’s overproducing anyways, and she’d give you some bottles since you’re not-”
“-Eddie,” Your body burned with embarrassed heat, tensing as the others in the aisle turned, lips pursed in disapproval. “Just get the formula.”
“Baby, this is two-fifty a can. Marsha said she’d give it for free. I don’t see why you wouldn’t just take that.” Eddie said, trying to rationalize with you.
The older woman beside you scoffed, her nose sticking in the air in disapproval as she turned to the young girl beside her. “And that’s why you don’t have a baby before you're married. You don’t want to end up like these two.” Her eyes narrowed towards you and Eddie. “It’s unfair to the baby.”
Your heart stopped, fell into your stomach, your breath leaving with it. You thought you’d be used to this- the dirty, judgy looks when you went to prom nearly nine months pregnant, or when you barely made it to graduation after you had Jude three days prior. Still, it felt like a suckerpunch to your sternum every time. You’d blame the consuming shame as the reason you barely left the house now.
“Lady, mind your own fuckin’ business, alright?” Eddie snapped, a growl in his voice that left her jumping, hurriedly pushing the cart down the aisle.
You didn’t dare look to the couple beside you, but you could feel their judgment burning through you. Jude had begun to fuss the moment you entered the store, picking up on your apprehension that left him unsettled, until he finally began to cry.
“Shit,” Eddie muttered, looking down at the baby, his face beginning to scrunch with the warning of a wail. “Here, take him to the car and I’ll check out.”
“No, I can check out.” You shook your head, overwhelmed with the interaction from before and now this. “We still need diapers.”
“I can get diapers-”
“-No.” You snapped, teeth baring in irritation. “You always get the wrong size. I can get them.” Your voice was harsh, stilling Eddie and you both with shock in the aisle.
Jude’s whimpering cries were beginning to grow louder over the beating of your heart thundering in your ears. “I’m sorry.” You whispered, looking down at Jude, then back at Eddie. “I just… I need a second.”
Eddie nodded slowly, pulling out his wallet and passing it to you. “I got him.” Eddie muttered, slowly taking Jude from your arms. “I’ll be in the van. Take your time, baby.” He pressed a kiss to your head before he left you.
You felt nearly robotic, pushing down the aisles towards the diapers. The dirty looks were gone, they left with Eddie and Jude, but a suffocating feeling of guilt took its place. The woman’s words ringing in your ears, unfair to the baby. Maybe it was, your mind screamed, as you stood in line at the check out. Maybe it was unfair that you couldn’t afford the luxury swaddlers, or that you couldn’t even produce enough milk to feed Jude. Maybe your parents were right, you had made a mistake.
“Do you have any coupons?” The teenage cashier dead panned, a bored look in her eyes as she pulled you from your thoughts.
“Oh, yeah- yes, I do.” You muttered, flipping through Eddie’s wallet for the coupons you’d clipped out of the newspaper this week, handing them over with a shame you were unsure of.
The cashier punched in the number, the register dinging as the total rolled over at the top. “Twelve- seventy-two.” She muttered.
You pulled the ten dollar bill out, heart sinking as you flipped through the contents, the folds and flaps of Eddie’s leather wallet. Where was the five you put in here last night? You know you gave it to him-
“Ma’am,” The cashier huffed. “It’s twelve-seventy-two.”
“I-I know.” Your chest tightened, lungs constricting. “I-I know I had more. I-I’m sorry, I just- I know I put it in here-”
“-Ma’am, if you don’t have enough-”
“-No, I have enough.” You snapped, startling the cashier. “I just- I know I put it in here, just- Are you sure you added the coupons?”
“Yes,” The cashier snapped. You could feel your heart thundering in your chest, ears ringing, hands trembling. “Lady, I’ve got a line. If you don’t have the money, I’m going to have to ask you to leave and you can come back when you have enough.”
“I can’t-” You pressed your eyes shut, your voice shaking. “H-How much without the formula?”
“Just the diapers?” The cashier huffed. “Eight dollars and seven cents.”
“Fine. I-I’ll just get those.” You muttered, eyes cutting to the line behind you.
“Just the diapers?” The cashier asked, brow lifting with annoyance.
“Yes.” You muttered, hands shaking when you reached for the ten dollar bill, eyes pricking with tears.
“That will be eight dollars and-”
“-Add the formula back on.” A voice behind you said softly.
You jumped, turning towards the woman behind you. “I’ll pay for them.” She said softly, giving you a gentle nod.
“No, no, I-I couldn’t ask you-”
“-You didn’t.” The woman shook her head, sliding the twenty dollar bill over to the cashier. “Everyone needs a little help every now and then, and I’m happy to help.”
Your lip trembled, jaw clenching to keep in your tears. “Thank you.” Your voice was broken, a barely there whisper that burned when it made its way out of your chest.
“Don’t mention it.” The woman waved with a smile. “How old is your baby?”
“T-Two months.” You croaked, sniffling back a wet sob.
“A fun age.” She grinned. “Two months is great, but two years- ooh.” She rolled her eyes playfully. “That’s when they become little gremlins.”
The cashier handed back the change, passing you the bagged formula and diapers. “Please, let me at least give you some money, an-and I can pay you back the rest by the end of the week, I swear.” You rambled, reaching for a pen off the counter, flipping your receipt over. “If you give me your name, an-and phone number, I’ll-”
“-That’s not necessary, dear, I promise.” The woman shook her head at you lightly. “But if you don’t mind me asking, are you working?”
Your chin ducked, spinning the pen around in your hands. “I-I waitress during the week at Benny’s. It’s been hard finding a job, because…” You looked down at the groceries, voice tightening in your throat.
The woman nodded, reaching for the pen in your hands. “Well, if you’re interested in something else, I work at Vance Insurance and we’re looking for a receptionist.” She scribbled an address on the back of your receipt with her name- Sheila. “We just need someone young who knows how to work the phones, and can help us transfer calls, schedule appointments. Is that something you can do?”
“I- Yes, I can do that.” You nodded furiously.
“Wonderful.” Sheila grinned, passing the pen back to the cashier. “Stop in anytime this week and they’ll interview you. It’s a good starting place, good benefits- especially for a baby.”
“Thank you,” Your eyes watered, brimming with tears that fell slowly down your cheeks. “I just- I can’t thank you enough, really, this is too kind-”
“-Everyone needs help sometimes.” Sheila repeated gently. “I was you not too long ago, just needing some help. Like I said, I’m happy to help.”
You nodded, clutching the receipt in your hands as you walked towards the sliding doors of the entrance. You held onto the receipt, buried it deep in your pocket until Monday morning.
February 2nd, 1989
“Motherfucker,” Eddie hissed, ringed hand slapping down on the sticky table top. “A dollar?”
“C’mon, ‘least it’s somethin’, right?” Darrel snickered from beside Eddie, bussing the booth next to him, emptied beer glasses splashing in the bin. “Could be nothin’ like that table before.”
“Bunch of assholes,” Eddie grunted, shoving the dollar in his pocket. “Dude has a BMW and can’t tip more than a dollar?”
“Those are the worst kinds, man.” Darrel shook his head. “Ones with the most are the stingiest.”
“You’re tellin’ me.” Eddie scoffed, shoving the emptied bourbon glass in the bin. “That’s why I quit workin’ at Elroy’s.”
“You quit at Elroy’s?” Darrel gaped. “When? I thought you just started that job, man, what happened?”
“Psh, he’s a dick.” Eddie rolled his eyes. “Had me doin’ all the dirty work, making nothing, while he’s making six figures and just sits there bitching at all of us nobodies.” Eddie shook his head. “I got sick of it. I’m not working for some asshole and making no money. Besides, it was cuttin’ into my time playing here.”
Darrel nodded slowly, head shaking with a shrug. “Yeah, that’s… That’s tough, Ed.” He hummed. “What about the Mrs? She pissed at you for quitting another job.”
“No,” Eddie snapped, far too quickly and too defensively for it to be true. Pissed was an understatement. You’d had a fight so big, so loud, the neighbors two trailers down had to come check on you.
“This is the third job this year, Eddie!” You had roared, throwing your arms out. “How the fuck are we going to afford a house when you keep doing this shit?”
“Will you relax? We’ll be fine, we’ve always been fine. I’ll find another-”
“-We’ve always been fine because I have a job.”
“Baby, when I make it big, you won’t have to work. I’ll take care of us- all of us, ok? I’m working on it. I’ve gotten a bunch of gigs in Indianapolis-”
“-That don’t pay.” You sneered. “That you spend more money on gas to get to than you actually make-”
“-You gotta spend a little money to make money, baby. That’s business!” Eddie huffed, throwing his hands up. It was the same fight, it always was.
“Spend what money? My money?” You scoffed. “Taking money away from Jude so you can, what? Play pretend rockstar? Grow up, Eddie!”
That had been three nights ago. You hadn’t talked to Eddie since then. He’d slept on the couch every night since the fight.
“Look, I-I got another job lined up.” Eddie bristled, shaking his head, trying to drown out your cruel words still ringing in his head. “I’m playing for Oktoberfest at this bar in Indianapolis. There’s gonna be a shit ton of people there, and who knows? Could be a producer or someone there to sign us. The guy over there said they’re always coming in from Chicago, seeing what talent is around.”
“Oh, it’s a gig?” Darrel looked at him, not nearly as excited as Eddie thought he would be. “Not a job.”
“I mean, yeah, it’s both-”
“-You’re gettin’ paid?” Darrel lifted a brow.
“Yeah, it’s not- it’s not much. Like fifty bucks, but that’s not with tips, and they cover my tab for the night.” Eddie stuttered defensively. It sounded like a much better deal when the owner pitched it to him.
Darrel nodded slowly, fingers tapping on the bin. “Well, good luck then.” He muttered, wiping down the table. “But, uh, if there’s not a producer or whatever, you know my cousin is still looking for help with his HVAC business. If you’re ever looking for anything.”
Eddie’s chest burned with furious heat, scoffing as he pulled away, moving to the next table. Who the fuck does he think he is? Eddie fumed, jaw set tight, teeth grinding with fury.
The rest of the night wasn’t better, despite the crowd. Eddie pocketed a solid thirty-seven dollars, and some change an asshole at the corner booth left. He cut it down thirty-six dollars before he made it home, stopping by the liquor store for a pack of Camels.
Eddie was surprised the living room light was still on when he came in, quietly shutting the door in case you and Jude were asleep on the couch again.
“Baby,” Eddie whispered, creeping into the room. He found you sitting, awake, on the couch, arms crossed over your chest, eyes red rimmed and glassy.
“Oh, I thought you were asleep.” Eddie muttered, voice still hushed as he shook off his jacket, tossing it over the back of the couch.
Your lips pursed, arms still tight across your chest. “Jude is with Wayne tonight.” You said, though your voice didn’t carry the usual purr it did when you’d told him that before. Tonight, it was filled with icy malice.
“Oh, yeah?” Eddie grinned, leaning over the couch towards you, arms wrapping around your frame, face pressing into your neck. “Good. I’ve had the worst fuckin’ day, and I’ve missed you. Missed sleepin’ in the bed with you, baby.” His lips tugged at your ear lobe, teeth grazing your skin.
“Stop, we’re not…” You huffed, pushing him off you gently, standing from the couch. “We need to talk, Eddie.”
Eddie’s heart dropped, sinking deep in the pit of his stomach. “Talk? About what?” His shoulders slumped, gripping the back of the couch with an exhale of exhaustion. “Baby, you know I didn’t mean it when I said that. I was just pissed, and… C’mon, you know I’d never really mean tha-”
“-I’m pregnant.” Your words echoed through the small living room of the trailer, a silence settling around the two of you after that.
Eddie’s mouth opened then closed, words strangled in his throat. “Pregnant?” Suddenly he was eighteen again, heart stilled in his chest, ears ringing with what he was sure was delusion.
“What- I mean, how- No, I-I know how, I just…” Eddie swallowed around the thick lump in his throat, head spinning with the news. “That’s-That’s great.”
Your choked sob startled him, left him flinching as your hand moved to your mouth, muffling your cries. “Hey, hey, what’s- Baby, don’t cry.” Eddie soothed, his voice calmer now than it was four years ago.
Your wet cheeks pressed into his shirt, the overwhelming scent of stale cigarettes making you retch and gag. He should have known you were pregnant a week ago, when he’d slipped in the bed beside you after a night shift at The Hideout and you had gagged, shoved him out of the bed and told him to shower. “I can smell smoke in your hair, Ed. It’s giving me a headache.”
He let you go, back away from him with a cry that turned into a gag that faded into a cough then back to a sob. “What’s wrong?” Eddie hesitated, his hands reaching out to you then back to his sides, unsure of what to do. “Why-Why are you crying? Are you not- I mean, hey, at least we’re married this time and… and adults.”
He thought the little joke he made might calm you down, soothe you a little, not send you into another wave of sobs. Face crumbling, shoulders shaking with tears. “What- Why are you crying?” Eddie’s brows furrowed, reaching out for you. “Are you- Are you not happy?”
“No,” You spat, sniffing back a wet cry. “I mean, yes but…” Your teary eyes met his, lip shaking with a cry you tried to swallow. “I-I don’t think it’s the ri-right time.”
Eddie frowned. “Well, it’s a little late for that, sweetheart.” His hand rubbed over your arm soothingly. “What’s the matter, hm? What’s got you upset? This should be a good thing.”
“Should be,” You spat with a wet sob. “Eddie, we barely make it as it is, and…and we’re never going to be able to afford two kids when you won’t stay at a job.” Your breath hitched, the harsh truth you’d kept in for months finally tumbling out, laying on him thickly in the room.
Eddie’s lips pursed, tightened in a straight line. “I have a job.”
“The Hideout is not a job.” You countered. “Not one that can support two kids, Eddie, be serious.”
“I am being serious.” Eddie crossed his arms defensively. “And it’s not my main job, anyways, you know that.” You fought back an eye roll, the tears flooding your vision instead.
“Baby, I know it doesn’t pay much right now, but all I need is one chance, ok? One time, just someone out there hearing me play, and-and then everything will change. We’ll be set for life. More than set.” Eddie gushed, reaching out to hold you.
His eyes were wide, wild with the same excitement they were years ago, when he’d first told you his dream of being a rockstar. But that was before- before Jude, before you’d gotten married, before reality hit you in the face and knocked you on your feet. Before you’d become bitter with the harsh realization that dreams were for the lucky few, and that you weren’t.
“I can’t…” You pressed a hand to your mouth, taking a deep breath you hoped would calm your nerves, settle your stomach. “Eddie, I- we don’t have time for one day. We have a family right now.” Your tear stained eyes met his.
“I can’t afford to live off a dream that may happen.” Your lips pressed together, swallowing back a cry.
Eddie’s face fell, and you could practically see his heart shattering. “What-What are you saying?”
“That you need to grow up.” Your tone clipped, bitter and cold in the echo of the room. “You have a kid- two, now, an-and it’s not fair to them that they suffer because you want to chase down a dream that might happen.”
Eddie’s heart sunk, burning with a soul crushing ache he hadn’t felt in years. “What? You think I can’t make it? That-That I’m not good enough?”
Your eyes closed, taking in a deep, calming breath to steady yourself. “I never said that.” You looked at him. “Maybe if… if things would have been different, you could go out every night an-and play wherever and do whatever, but they’re not. We have Jude and another on the way, and…”
There was a pause, neither one of you sure how to fill it, what to say. You swallowed the growing lump in your throat, willing your tears down. “You have to choose, Eddie.” Your voice shook gently, uncertainty filling each syllable. “If you want to go and make it big, fine, but I am not going to keep bankrolling your trips. Either get a job and grow up and be a father, or go be a rockstar.”
“That’s so fucked.” Eddie scoffed. “You know that? That is so fucked, and-and manipulative and- You know I love you and Jude, and I’d do anything-”
“-Then go get a job.” You snapped. “Go get a job and grow up, Eddie. Grow up and be an adult. Stop quitting every five seconds because something is mildly uncomfortable. Do you think I’m happy all the time at my job? No, but I stay because I have to, for Jude and for you.”
Eddie swallowed back the burn of tears that built in the back of his throat, embarrassment maybe anger spilling hot out of his chest. “It’s time to grow up, Eddie.” Your eyes couldn’t meet his as you walked towards the door. “The choice is yours.”
Eddie’s fists balled when you shut the bedroom door, stalking towards the front door, slamming it so hard behind him the trailer shook. He fished for his keys, yanking the van door open. You heard the gravel flying, the squeal of the tires following when he tore out of the drive. You squeezed your eyes together, letting out a pathetic sob in the still and silent room.
Hours later, long after you’d cried yourself to sleep, you felt the bed dip. You smelled the smoke before you felt him, sliding next to you under the sheets, Eddie’s hands finding your waist.
“I called Darrel.” Eddie said into the quiet darkness of the room, his voice hoarse with emotion. “His cousin said I could start Monday.”
You turned, blinking with burning eyes, still raw from tears. “Really?” You croaked.
Eddie swallowed before he nodded, and you pretended not to notice the way his lip shook. “You’re right. I…I need to grow up and be a man- be a better husband and father to Jude and the baby.” His voice was tight.
Your words rang through Eddie’s head every day he got up, dragging himself out of bed and to work. What started as a motivating mantra, something he’d chant in his mind to get him through the tiresome shifts slowly became tainted, fading into a bitter, mocking reminder. Every time he’d pass by The Hideout, seeing the next gaggle of wannabe rockers on stage. Every time the radio would play a new band, someone his age who had gotten lucky, been at the right place at the right time and got discovered. He’d stew over it, fuming about how that could have been him. Resentment building that he tried to swallow down, the painful reminder of what could have been.
