i need to reply to these tags cuz fun fact: Sun actually does regularly eat egg shells and other food scraps 😅 it is a problem

context: in the Have You Eaten? AU, the DCA boys can eat! Back when they were in the PizzaPlex, Management caught wind of Chica eating trash and they were inspired to upgrade the animatronics to be able to eat as an alternative way to charge (then they could market themselves for their innovative, green initiatives yknow?) so they have taste and scent receptors that they can turn off if necessary and they can eat virtually anything and gain some charge from it. the nutritional value of the food itself doesn't matter too much to them, they can really eat anything.

so this function is really helpful now that they work in a restaurant

Moon and Eclipse are pickier about what they choose to eat

but "i am a machine" Sun just eats anything. while cooking, he'll turn off his taste receptors and eat the parts of the ingredients that are normally picked or cut out. like he'll be cracking eggs and then he'll eat the shells. he'll be picking through leafy vegetables and then he'll eat the leaves that have yellowed or the parts that have aged and gotten too fibrous.

but... if you cook something for him, he'll leave his taste receptors on, wanting to honour the food you've worked so hard to prepare for him and to honour your efforts. it's the one time he actually slows down to enjoy a meal, regardless of the quality. if you made it for him, he'll appreciate it

Your chef Sun is so interesting to me. If he ever has a crush he will deny it, right? Or not acknowledge it at all. Or maybe, I wonder if he'll be confused?

hehehe great question! i think he would be confused but... i think he would realize something about himself, just a little spark of something new and unfamiliar but something that's confused him for a long time now

The DCA's late Boss was the previous owner of the restaurant. he was the one who found them after their PizzaPlex fell to ruin, and he brought them in and taught them how to cook. he's sort of a pseudo-father-figure to them.

he was a very passionate guy, he loved cooking and loved his late wife. and that piqued Sun's curiosity—to love someone even after they have passed. so along with teaching the boys how to cook, he also taught Sun about love. of course, Sun struggled to understand, but Boss always believed Sun would some day.
