(5+) kiddos

he's weirdly a lot more chill the older you are in regression, he feels he needs to have rules and guidelines for the littles, but if you're more of a kid, then he is laidback

huge arts and crafts kinda guy, since he likes doodling himself, it's very easy for the two of you to spend an afternoon just scribbling and coloring

you will probably spend more time outside than inside, tbh. he'll bring out balls and chalk and bubbles, anything you want to keep you entertained

will come up with a secret handshake with you (that both of you will forget within the hour and make up a new one)

so many cartoons. he likes watching them anyways so it's a no-brainer for babysitting

if you play with dolls, scout will make them fight each other

loves loves loves games, from hide and seek to the floor is lava to even just counting, he will make everything into a competition

he'll let you win on purpose though because it makes him happy to see you happy

I cant believe I haven’t posted my take on him anywhere besides tiktok,,,these sketches are also almost a year old I will draw him again sometime!

I will ramble on for a bit here because I used to think about him a lot!

After the Jeff incident + recovering physically,,

The part of him that consumed all of the hatred, anger, murderous intent over what Jeff did was Sully, a personality he created in order to (albeit poorly) deal with the former events. (I think of it like in moonknight w mark and Steven)

His main goal would be finding his brother and getting revenge for both the loss of his parents, his little brother, and all of Jeff’s innocent victims due to whatever ‘evil’ resides within Jeff.

Liu is constantly battling with his feelings on putting an end to Jeff’s madness/crimes, however, he still sees his younger brother within him. Someone who Liu can’t bring himself to harm.

Liu carries A LOT of guilt and regret for not being able to help Jeff, he thinks it’s his fault that things escalated to this point.

(which is absolutely not true, but he doesn’t see it that way) It hurts him to still not be able to finish things or have any sort of resolution.

Sully is somewhat the “barrier” that protects him from completely falling apart. Liu and Sully are pretty much two different people with different memories/emotions/reactions etc.

Sully on the other hand gladly would inflict pain upon Jeff and any other poor victims he may come across. He isn’t entirely deranged however, he’s very calculated in his killings and quite skilled combat wise.

Both of them are in love with Susan. The nurse who took care of them after the incident. She is also aware of both Liu and Sully and cares for them both as different people. She obviously doesn’t condone Sully’s actions however and is present enough to prevent some harm coming to innocent people.

I believe I’ve rambled on enough for now but if anyone is ever curious about more lore I have for any pasta I’d be so glad to share!

hey, so I'm trying to figure out what places would be good to sell my own art at, and I'm wondering- what has been your experience with selling on etsy? I've heard mixed reviews from people, and I want to know your perspective as an etsy seller.

etsy is not perfect but i think it gets a little more shit than it deserves, i've thought about opening my own website but generally i'm actually pretty okay with the services i get on etsy compared to what it costs so i'm just gonna make a subjective pros/cons list for you under the cut (because its loooong)

oh and if anyone else has experience selling on etsy and would like to add their two cents in the replies/reblogs please do!

Pros

⭐ The search function - this is etsy's biggest selling point. it already has a dedicated userbase of millions of people and a search feature to help them find your shop, which takes a lot of the load of marketing off your shoulders, and marketing is a huge factor for pushing sales. i am not good at marketing and a lot of my sales just come from people searching my stuff up lol

⭐ Purchase protection program - if USPS loses or damages your package, you file a missing package report and they confirm they don't know where it is, Etsy will refund your buyers order out of their own pocket (under $250). this is my favorite etsy feature because USPS likes to eat packages every now and again. delicious keychains. if you had your own storefront, you'd just have to replace the order yourself.

⭐ Share & Save program - every time someone makes an order on your shop through a special Share & Save link, etsy will refund you 4% of the fees. it's a nice perk to doing some of your own marketing and it helps combat the moderately high etsy fees!

Trackable letter mail - selling stickers but think it's insane to charge $4 shipping? you can buy letter mail labels for about the rate of regular postage, which is like .65c. this tracking is done through etsy though so you can't track with usps, but it does give customers a little peace of mind. this only works in the 50 US states though.

Customs forms built into your shipping label - shipping internationally is a nightmare. etsy makes it easy though, generating everything you need to ship internationally on one label that you just have to sign and date and slap on your package like normal. for some countries they will actually just have your package sent to a domestic facility where they literally do all that for you. this is miles easier than having to do all that paperwork yourself.

buy shipping labels directly from etsy - related point, and just what it says on the tin. when you fulfill an order, you can buy your labels right there on Etsy so you don't have to mess around with a third party website. it comes out of your sale funds so you don't need to charge a card or a bank account or anything.

star seller program - some people say this is completely useless but i actually disagree! it's incredibly easy to earn this badge, and it lets buyers know you've got some of the best products, shipping, and customer service around. it helps you stand out from some of the more... questionable shops on the website.

sales tax - they remit sales tax for you. i don't think any of the other online platforms similar to etsy do this but i could be wrong. doing any kind of taxes sucks so i consider it a perk if they do it for you.

website promotions - every now and again etsy likes to host sales out of their own pocket. you get all the perks of having a sale without eating into ur profit margin. HUGE sale booster

generally the site is just very easy to learn and use and it's very beginner and dumbass friendly. i say this as a former beginner and current dumbass 👍

Cons

❌ the fees. oogh the fees. they claim it's just a 6.5% fee per sale, but on top of that you have to pay .20c automatically for every individual item you sell, plus there are processing fees (3% + .25c) that apply both to the item you sold AND the cost of shipping. i think it comes out to like 10% total in fees on average @ > @

❌ but wait, there's more fees! if you make more than $10k in sales a year (very easy number to hit actually) you are forced to participate in offsite ads, which i believe takes 15% of your total sale on top of the fees in the previous point. these kinds of sales are not as common as you'd think, but it's still annoying having a couple bucks shaved off your profits a few times a month because of them.

corporate bullshit - etsy is like renting a space in a mall. you don't own your lot, nor the mall itself, so if upper management decides to make any stupid ass decisions, you just have to deal with it or pick up and move. if they decide to raise fees again, you just gotta Deal. you are a little bit helpless on this website unfortunately

the push for discounts - etsy is constantly shoving it in your face that they want you to do discounts. they want you to have free shipping on orders over $35, they want you to do 25% off or more on sales, they want you to have returning customer discounts and abandoned cart discounts and 'you recently favorited this item' discounts - but you already have to compete with the steep fees, and when a customer gets free shipping, you still owe USPS that $4-ish bucks to send the package. you don't have to do any of this, but they do reward participating shops by favoring them in the algorithm and search results, so you can feel like you're missing out.

there aren't as many cons imo but they Are steeper cons. generally etsy is very beginner friendly and easy to get into and set up, and in spite of everything i do actually recommend everyone looking to get into online retail start on etsy and perhaps move to other platforms in the future. plus, you can combat all the fees by just... making your prices a dollar or two higher than you initially wanted to, and using your 'save and share' link as frequently as possible. the fees are a little bit much, but you have to think about what you get in exchange:

the search is invaluable, you could argue the fees are partially a marketing budget lmao. if you have a private website you alone have to push traffic to your website, and not as many people know about things like shopify and bigcartel so they might not be as trusting putting their card details into it. i miss out on a lot of REALLY COOL STUFF because artists only advertise on instagram and i don't hear about them, meanwhile if i want some cool owl house stuff i can literally just search that in etsy and find a lot of TOH stuff super easily. i cannot highlight enough how GOOD the search function is, especially in this day and age where social media like instagram and twitter will blacklist your posts if you say words like 'shop' or 'sale' and now nobody can find your stuff in that website's search either. its very hard to do your own marketing now a days :(

being able to refund customer's lost orders out of the company's pocket is such a nice thing to fall back on if you have to and worth its weight in fees. USPS lost like... four or five packages of mine in december. that's like $100 or more worth of stuff that Etsy Covered Completely, and a lot of the times the customer will take that refund to make their order again. don't abuse this system, make sure you check with usps that the package is actually Gone, but it's a godsend when you don't make billions of dollars and eating the cost of lost orders would otherwise sting a bit.

if etsy did not make international shipping easy i simply would not ship anywhere but the US to be honest. shipping to europe is still a headache though but that's because europe is stupid

that's everything i can think of, but tl;dr yes please open an etsy 👍 i recommend it completely in spite of everything

Howdy hoo ur art is beautiful and delicious and I want to eat it but how on earth do you render and color?

Hi there!! Thanks so much!!

Heres some other posts I've made about these subjects with some color choices and hatching! There's lots to talk about, and im not an expert, but I'd like to help 🫶 Long post under the cut :D

First of all, I'd like to start by saying that sketches for rendered pictures don't need to be anything complicated. Before i started coloring this way, i always assumed painting sketches needed to be extremely clean or detailed in order to be successful. I found though that i was wasting so much time and energy making a sketch just to cover it all in the process.

The most important thing to me is the blocking phase. Just like flatcoloring on a normal picture, I do the same for both lineless and painted styles. I can not emphasize enough how INCREDIBLY helpful it is to pick out a background color in this phase, not only is it going to impact your lighting, its going to impact your colors more than you think.

I don't personally work in black and white, but this might help visualize some things. When blocking in this picture, i filled this background gradient FIRST.

Again, a lot like flat coloring I blocked these colors underneath my sketch. My lighting on both characters was actually a mix of colors from my background, ive found that reusing a couple of solid base colors helps in general with unifying everything. When i start rendering, i render in layers over the sketch in order to refine or cover my black lines.

You can see for the most part that my original blocking layers are a majority of my rendering, and throughout the process i typically end up adding darker and darker shadows until my balance seems satisfying.

For the most part, the only way you can really get a hold on rendering is just messing around!! Experiment with using blending modes or none at all! Try using a color palette that gets you out of your comfort zone! (You can find lots on websites or images) or even better, try doing a painting study! Taking it step by step from blocking-> shading -> rendering really made it less intimidating for me, so i hope in some ways it helps you too :)

I love love love how often the killers have something in common with Will. I know that's the point, but it's always so good!! the way Will is also sick, hallucinating, sweating etc like the angel maker is delicious

Will trying to do the right thing and pull away because he's ill but Jack just can't. his sense of justice is too strong he can't relate to ever putting your health before duty, even in the face of knowing his wife is now dying!!!! and him guilting Will about going back to teaching, not because he's evil but because he would feel the guilt!!! but the way he tells Will to quit is still wrong, still unhealthy and unhelpful for Will ugh its so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm barely coherent but love this episode, love how much of it is about jack and Bella, love that Will sees himself so much in the killer and that's what prompts his doubt even though he's been struggling before this, love the way Hannibal is tightening his grip on Will and Will let's him because he genuinely trusts him still, love the moments of Will almost noticing and looking away, love it. I doubt I would've called this episode my favorite before the rewatch but it has so much good stuff in it. I'm so used to loving Hannibal that sometimes I forget how genuinely good it is, just extremely well made

UMMMM FOR MOVIESSS... my favorite since it came out is loving vincent. and probably will always be. i was SO EXCITED when it ran on tv and i was just so.. bewitched. each frame was lovingly painted by hand and it includes various paintings by van gogh. :) what you're seeing is entirely made with oil paint, using van goghs techniques, and it's just the most beautiful thing i've ever seen. other movies i love are: rusalochka (1968), bram stokers dracula (1992) & pulp fiction! and again anything with winona ryder I ADOOOOOOORE HER and if it has her in it i will probably give it a chance. except stranger things. nope. i'm sorry i seriously can't

my favorite books is honestly between the original frankenstein and the murders in the rue morgue. and i also started reading bram stokers dracula and i have to say i dont like the flow of the book As Much as i like the movie. i also enjoy anything by edgar allan poe a normal amount and i take a lot of inspo from his poems. i also super super gravitate to folk ballads/stories from which i also take inspiration for my art :) annnnnd i also like reading manga sometimes still and what i remember loving was innocent rouge, the red fog; and i also started goodnight punpun! which has been an experience so far

either way what i do for the most part these days is ummmm actually play video games and ive just been playing roblox day in day out for months now so there's that. big fan of phighting & regretevator (side-dish of pressure) and like thats the. only things ive been drawing as well because im insane. and i also play arknights still that's been my lifeblood for like a good 2 years now and i still play daily. other than that i LOVE visual novels and interactive stories in general and if you're looking for recommendations ANYTHING BY HARRIS POWELL-SMITH. FANTASIC. i think they only make their games text-based but i promise you so hard dont let that deter you and you will have a delicious experience. a date with death is GREAT, still waiting on touchstarved, and i also liked the obscura demo but full game is locked away in my country bleghjjjghhhh. AAAAAAAAAAND MY FAVORITES FOR LAST. anything by endysis. i will literally eat anything they do. i played it paints me, snow white ashes the demo, and im looking to play the last winter knight the demo as well AND OHHHHHGH MY GOD BY A LARGE MARGIN. MY FABORITE THINGS. EVER. ESPECIALLY SNOW WHITE ASHES. GOD. GOD. THE DEMO IS FREE. IF YOU DO ANYTHING TODAY AND YOU LOVE GOTHIC/DARK ROMANCE PLEASE PLAY SNOW WHITE ASHES.
