#ERD3

Ember heard the drones before she saw them. Crouched behind a broken wall in the ruins of an old building, she slowed her breath and listened.

So first lines of the first chapter!

Not gonna be posting much of the actual writing as I go, mostly just parts I'm proud of, and whild I'm very aware that this will need a lot of reworking at the beginning, I'm much happier with this start than the one I had before!

Wrote for the first time in a while! 138 words, not too much, but I have a better start to ERD3 C1 now

She cleared her head when the drone wobbled in the air, and shifted her directions until she was once again hovering over them in the night.

This is where I left off in the draft. I haven't actually drafted ERD3 (Ember Rising draft 3) in a while, but am starting up again in February! Until then, I'm rereading ERD2 and fixing a few things on my outline.

It's a little disjointed to be coming from Ember, tbh xD I'm leaving it for now but this scene is one that's going to be reworked a *lot* once I work out how to actually write dronefights

Have a little more brain tonight (I'd say surprisingly because I had 11 hours of work but I ALSO didn't have two kinds of negative emotional spirals today so that's likely why) so might try a bigger writing goal!

Thoughts? I should go to bed in about an hour if not sooner.

Short clip from ERD2! (Ember Rising draft 2).

One of the big things about ERD2 that has to be cut in ERD3 is a lot of the banter, since it's out of character. Some of it makes me sad. I'm not sure if this part is staying or going yet, but have one of the funny bits!

Raider shrugged. “How does Ghost know anything? Half guessing, half dumb luck, half the network, half instinct.” 

“Check your math. That’s four halves.” Arlir nudged them playfully.

Raider nudged her back. “‘Cause he knows twice as much as he lets on.”

I got a job interview at Walgreens!

I currently work at Hobby Lobby but I only get around 26-28 hours in a week -- in order to make enough to cover tuition by the end of the summer, I need to be working 40 hours in a week (and since for the last month I’ve only been working 26-28, I probably should be working 45-50 hours from here on out). 

Interview is on Tuesday. Going to see about getting 15-20 hours a week there if I can, and hope I can still both finish ERD3 over summer and actually have some semblance of a life outside of work (/j).
