im gonna talk abt tf2 and pokemon again bc i can.
scout of course would dig fast pokémon!!! he's probably got a jolteon he loves dearly, maybe even a crobat he was given (as a zubat) in childhood. from who? eyes emoji there are faster pokémon, sure, but a lot are legendaries or bugs- and he's still trying to warm up to bugs. when/if he did, you KNOW he'd be all over ninjask or accelgor. he usually fawns over pokémon he thinks would make him look cool or fit his fight style (ie hit ur opponents the hardest first & dont get touched) but has a weak spot for some of the "cuter" ones. probably tried to lick a vanillish. as staunch a believer i am he'd be from castelia city, i like the idea that he used to be a rocket grunt, or someone who wanted to join team rocket at one point. i was trying to decide if he'd have a type preference but i like to think he's a mixed bag, mostly because every pokémon is cool and exciting to him! if you did ask & he did have to pick, it'd definitely be electric. wait, dragon, obviously... nah, fighting is good. no wa
soldier's partner is obvious! zigzagoon! mostly bc its a raccoon-like lil dude... he probably gives nicknames to every pokémon he sees, not necessarily just the ones he tries to catch. because lets face it, his zigzagoon is the ONLY pokémon that matters to him. well, that and any that catches zhanna's eye. his zigzagoon carries an everstone and is probably stupid high levelled but nobody really keeps track. soldier does initiate a lot of battles, but they're more fun when zhanna's with him too! theyre an inseperable group who probably wreak enough havoc to be considered their own team of hooligans, but who's to stop a happy couple with their adorable op pokémon? also i kinda wrote all that down super quick buuuut zigzagoon also works as a support pokémon for him when his stability gets extra rough, laying on his lap and helping to keep him grounded. he doesnt have any desire to keep more pokémon since he's fine with just 1, but if he had more i think he might get along with loudred or chatot. (chatot would DEFINITELY take some warming up to on his end but i LOVE THE THOUGHT)
pyro loves fire types of course!!! theyre probably the only one brave enough to pet their hotter ones. engineer probably made em special gloves just so they could play with their slugma... its hard to pick favorites, but the ones theyre closest to are slugma and monferno. they also have a solosis who just loves to play! unlike other people who usually just have one pokémon walking with em at all times, pyro tends to keep all three of theirs out of their pokéballs. they worry about them getting cramped or bored, and while its good exercise, sometimes its difficult to wrangle them when solosis has someones hat and slugmas melting through the furniture and monferno found spy's disguise kit.. theyre a big happy family though!! i think pyro would also like fairy types a lot, but if they got a fourth pokémon, theyd probably keep it at a daycare for the sake of themselves and the rest of the team. just in case, they might really want a sylveon or snubbull.
demoman and any pokémon knowing any explosive moves is an obvious fit! i initially liked him and electrode for this, but since part of their biology is exploding unpredictably... maybe that ones saved for battling. or at least not kept at any of the bases. i like the idea of him keeping his battle partners & normal team separate. when he's not drunk, he's a very skilled trainer and actually took a handful of gym challenges when he was younger. of course it started getting tough to balance work and training, but he never intended to get far in gyms anyway- to him it was just a fun challenge where he got to bond with his pokémon. other than his electrode, he's probably also got a charmeleon (whos either causing mischief with pyro's monferno or keeping demo company while he works/naps) and a honedge (who he will spar with sometimes). he used to have several other pokémon, but he eventually didn't like keeping them all abandoned in pc boxes, and ended up rehoming a lot of them. scout probably has a meowth from him, but he wont tell you.
heavy never cared too much about setting up huge teams or amassing a large collection. he never carries pokéballs, but his party is made up of some impressive pokémon. unlike most of the team who catch their pokémon through normal means (trade/gift, fishing, etc), he befriended his naturally. its easy to say one is ursaring, so of course im going to say it. he wont share how they met, but i wanna say he found its egg abandoned and raised it from there. they probably wrestle a lot but theyre always careful not to seriously injure each other. he befriended his mamoswine (then swinub) shortly after, then his abomasnow much later, in between him busting his family out of the gulag & leaving to find work. he left all three in siberia in the care of his family, but has a teddiursa from his ursaring to think of them all by. probably spoils the crap out of em all every chance he gets though, he loves his pokémon as much as his human family and saves recipes for poképuffs & poffins.
engineer wasn't always on board w the idea of a partner pokémon, mainly because he was always into engineering and was sure he'd be too caught up in it to focus on.. well, anything else. sure, when he was younger, he was like most kids and dreamt of being a league champion, but it always seemed to fall through.. until he discovered steel types. he started his journey later than most, but more than anything he's thankful because they help immensely with his work and lighten the load. he has a magneton who.. isn't that bright, but he's cute and thats what matters. he's also got a rotom who occasionally helps experiment with new machines, but mostly just possesses dispensers and rubs itself on everyone and everything. yum, static cling! engie didn't get into battling as much as he thought he would, but he's essentially working his dream job with his best friends (and 8 other dorks) so things are pretty good. this doesnt mean he wont go for human help when hes stumped or burnt out, though! other partner thoughts i had were torkoal, raichu and porygon2.
sniper is probably the biggest pokémon expert out of everyone on the team (well, aside from medic probably.) he's basically a walking pokédex and can tell you all about type matchups. he's also way closer to his pokémon than people realize, and especially closer than any real people. this is especially noticeable with his baby kangaskhan- although with a heavier origin than simply "abandoned", he ended up bonding with heavy over the ordeal. even with more technical aspects memorized, raising this baby was a completely new venture- not one he hated though! he also collects bug pokémon (that he lets scout get close to,when he tries to get over his fear) & has a slakoth that just kinda.. fell asleep on him one time and just never went away. other choices include koamala or krokorok.
medic is like a pokémon professor but fucked up. while he was primarily a human doctor, after losing his medical license, he started to dedicate time to studying pokémon. he doesnt run inhumane experiments on them because i said so. he's working on filling up his pokédex more than anything, and loves listening to others talk about their partners or other species theyve seen. he has his own pokémon too of course! as the team healer its only natural he has healing pokémon like audino and blissey, but he has a soft spot for flying types, specifically the birds. he has way too many pidove. he probably has a massive aviary separate from his medical lab where he keeps more birds, namely pidgeotto, fearow and some starly. he used to travel a lot (especially after being chased out of his hometown), but he saw it as more chances to discover new pokémon. probably has a very illegal form of the pokémon boxes with no storage limit. also probably heard the stories about mew and mewtwo and actually got inspired. probably owns the most pokémon merc, specifically stationery- hey, if ur getting some unethical experiment performed on you by the german guy you tried to rob earlier that night, are you going to pay more attention to his shit eating smirk or his cool ass holographic pikachu pencils??? or perhaps the cutesy eeveelutions stickers on the back of his clipboard???? thats what i thought.
spy looks like the guy who would probably be the least into pokémon, but that couldn't be further from the truth. he's not as wild as scout or medic by any means, but back in his day he was "pretty decent" (a gym leader.) i like the idea of zoroark being his partner, but you know who else is cool??? cofagrigus. gengar. banette. probably the only one on the team to actually get into mega evolving. and the only one with a shiny, but its gengar so we dont talk about that. i wont imply he loves his pokémon over his own family, he's just had a lot on his plate. remember scouts crobat? while hes got a more methodical approach to battling, he doesnt do it nearly as often as he used to. he still keeps his gym team, and though they tend to be more serious than the other pokémon in the base, they do on occasion get into trouble with others, namely pyro's solosis and scout's jolteon. not misbehaving on purpose, just being curious :0 probably uses luxury balls to catch all his pokémon and has an unused love ball with scouts moms name engraved on the bottom. (either for the novelty, or maybe hes trying to find the right one to catch for her??)

i think there's five basic types of pokemon one would theoretically want to eat on a scale of feasible to unfeasible:
1: basic bitch level. basically an IRL animal or plant you already eat so the pokemon version is probably just as good. so this includes stuff like tauros, magikarp, bounsweet, oddish, gogoat, malamar, etc. the vanillite line goes here 100% everyone wants to eat them
2: kinda fantastical but still clearly an exotic animal or plant, likely with a 1-to-1 IRL equivalent. these are partly just for bragging rights, so stuff like blastoise, milotic, basically anything that can end up as a steak the size of your body or would be unthinkable IRL. slowpoke tails may be commonly eaten in-universe but the entire rest of the slowpoke goes squarely in here. same deal with tropius.
3: what i call the "enrichment puzzle" meals; you REALLY gotta want it, because it has an exoskeleton of solid inorganic material or is otherwise extremely unpleasant to get at. way more fantasy than "real animal". can also just be an indeterminate meat to not-meat ratio, like rhydon or anything that eats rocks to live. someone mentioned ferroseed for this and i'd like to include other weirdos of vague and bizarre constitution, like solosis, and most poison types, like toxicroak. total roll of the dice whether you get some horrible acute poisoning.
4: "why the hell would you look at this and want to eat it". definitely made of meat but WHY??? humanoid pokemon go in here: gardevoir, mr. mime, throh/sawk, gothitelle, lopunny... some are more feasible to eat than group 3 but the psychological barrier is way higher! a lot of these also have opposable thumbs so you really have to consider the risks here. includes some ultra beasts like celesteela and buzzwole, the latter of which is absolutely full of delicious red kool-aid, i promise. if you're wondering "what category is pikachu in???" it's this one. basically anything that's really, really small and cute goes here. you monster.
5: Absolutely Fucking Not. anything that's literally just metal, rock, or poison goo, so klefki, grimer, etc. also ghosts, which are usually also haunting inanimate objects and/or have a canonical thirst for human flesh. please do not eat these. do not even attempt to eat these. legendaries go here. anything that actually talks goes here. guzzlord absolutely fucking goes here even though quite frankly it should be in its own category labeled "Watch The Fuck Out Idiot!"
(feel free to tag your top tastiest picks in each category)
anyone else have a running list of pokemon you'd REALLY like to eat. for me it's basically any crustacean and also malamar. i've had "squid steak" before but jesus just look at the size of that beast. you could deep fry chunks of it for a week or more... i'm running into the tall grass with a fork and knife as we speak

Pokémon Sword Avatar Challenge Playthrough Part 4
Welcome back to the Pokémon Sword Avatar Challenge: Water Tribe playthrough. If you’re not familiar with Pokémon Avatar challenge, you can check it out HERE.
I feel like the start of this game has gone really slow, but maybe that’s because I’ve been watching playthroughs of earlier Gens where people had their first badge within 20 minutes. It’s surprisingly how slow this kicks off considering how short of a game Pokémon Sword/Shield is. It’s kind of obvious that they were just waiting to drop the Expansion Pass to add like half-again to the playtime.
If you missed Part 1, it’s available HERE.
If you missed Part 2, it’s available HERE.
If you missed Part 3, it’s available HERE.
And without further ado… let’s go get a new Pokémon!
Yep, you guessed it. We’re going to the Pokémon Nursery and getting the Toxel. We trade out Amelie the Wingull and add our new member to the team. Amal better be ready to put in some Water-type work. We name him “Haku.” He’s level 1 but will grow fast hopefully. His ability is Rattled, which could come in really handy later in the game when we’re dealing with Team Yell’s Dark-types. Serious nature to neutral stat gains and his evolution will be Low Key form.
But why, you ask, would we saddle ourselves with two Pokémon we’ll have to basically hand-hold through the first part of the game? We’ve already got Makuda the Applin who has all of “Astonish” and “Withdraw,” and we want a Toxel too? I’m honestly not too concerned about this part of the game. Yes, we can still get knocked out on occasion, but there’s nothing that’s going to be a roadblock to the team. I’m willing to put in a bit of extra effort on the front end for the Pokémon I want on the team for the long run. Plus, Toxtricity looks so cool and I haven’t had an excuse to use it yet.
We head to the bridge and immediately start switch-leveling Haku. In just a few quick battles, he’s already level 15. So this will be fine. We hop on our brand new bike and almost right straight into Hop who’s raring for a battle. Honestly, though, he was no trouble at all. Aside from stupidly switching Kovali the Vanillite into “Double Kick,” it was a super easy battle. Since Haku has been gaining levels, he got his first taste of real battle off of Corvisquire, landing a good “Nuzzle” and paralysis before switching out. It worked so well, I tried it with Drizzile too. I don’t think Haku can carry us through the Water gym, but he’s actually more self-sufficient than Makuda the Applin right now.
We take some time to grind up to level 27-29 just to make sure we’re not falling behind. That gets us to Hulbury where Rose is apparently aching to get TV time and sign autographs. We’ll catch up with him after the second badge. For now we need to go to the lighthouse and find Nessa, who is apparently slacking off of her Gym Leader duties, tsk tsk.
Makuda isn’t ready to fight and for a Water Tribe run he’s actually our only Grass-type on the team, but I’m still not worried about this one. Instead, I just focus on getting us through the maze. I mostly use Rajuna the Greedent to just Body Slam my way through the trainers while switch-leveling Makuda and Haku.
Before we start fighting with Nessa, I’ve got to say that I really like her character design. Like really like it! She just looks so sleek and sporty!
Anyway. We start off with the same strategy we’d been using to get through the gym so far, which is throwing in Makuda for some experience then switching to Rajuna to Body Slam down Goldeen. We do the same against Arrokuda except with Haku as the switch. I’d held out some slim hope that Haku would evolve in the gym, but the experience outputs have been just too low.
Of course, we can’t really Body Slam down a Dynamaxed Drednaw, so our strategy has to change. We go ahead and throw Haku in just for the experience and to run out a turn of Dynamax before sending in Amal, our own Drednaw. Amal can tank the hits fairly well since the opponent Drednaw keeps using Max Darkness from Bite. As soon as her Dynamaxing is over, I Dynamax Amal and turn the strategy right back on her. We finish the battle quickly.
So we get the second badge! And Nessa’s uniform! And TM36 Whirlpool!
Now we get to go have a chat with Chairman Rose. At least he’s a helpful villain. Giovanni had some class, Maxie and Archie were interesting, and then the villains started to get cartoony. Cyrus was a joke, though I did like N and Ghetsis. The less said about Lysandre the better… And Guzma was, you know, there.
I like that at the end of the conversation Sonia just peppers in that she’s still friends with the gym leaders from her Champion run.
Galar Mine #2 has some interesting Pokémon. Nothing we particularly want right now, though Wimpod would definitely be an interesting choice if the post-X/Y Avatar Challenge rules weren’t so lenient on bugs. Shellios is worth considering, but right now I’m actually pretty happy with Amal.
We hop into a battle with Bede after the first little area, but it’s a cakewalk. I actually leave Makuda in to take on Solosis himself at first, but his Sp. Defense is just too low to take Psybeams. So we just nail him with Kovali the Vanillite and Rajuna. We do get to see Galarian Ponyta, which is nice – such a pretty unicorn!
Well. That happened. Let’s go find Kabu.

December 4, 2017
I had work today, which means I didn't do much. I worked on my script for my video I'll release on Wednesday with all the major talking points.
I also spent a good amount of time thinking about Pokemon games. I have a Nintendo 3DS, but no specific games to go along with it. I was thinking of getting Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. I would also want a Kirby and Mario game. I'm definitely not getting any of the 7th generation Pokemon games. I might get the 6th generation Pokemon games under certain conditions.
I was thinking of downloading an emulator to play Pokemon HeartGold, White 2, X, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, and Ultra Moon, just to experience the main storyline and repeatable content. If I feel that it is fun, then I might buy X and Alpha Sapphire. I'm definitely getting White 2, but I keep running into spoilers for the story. I just want to see what the story is, and speedrun it on the main game. When I get White 2, I also want to buy Dream Radar for $3 for the hidden abilities and the Landorus and Thunderous. I heard that you have to pay $5 per year to transfer Pokemon from the 5th generation to 6th generation, which I am not paying. I'm also not a big fan of Mega Evolutions, which Generation 6 introduces.
So Generation 5 is probably going to be my last generation of Pokemon. Part of me wants Alpha Sapphire for the nostalgia and to wrap up my Pokemon hobby. I can say: It started with Ruby and ended with Sapphire. Sounds like a good ending, right? Besides, $5 to transfer Pokemon from the 5th generation to 6th generation isn't bad, as long as I do everything within a year. I'm in no rush to transfer them either. I just want my level 100 Emerald Rayquaza to kill everything and everyone. It's EV trained too!
I was looking through my Black game to see if there were any evolutionary lines of Pokemon I was missing. I found I was missing Snivy, Pansage, Panpour, Tirtouga, Zoura, Solosis, Stunfisk, Pawniard, Boffalant, Rufflet, Terrakion, Virizion, Thundurous, Landorus, Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect. I can get Pansage, Panpour, Stunfisk, Pawniard, Boffalant, Terrakion, and Virizion in Pokemon Black, so I'm going to do that in the next couple of days. Snivy is a starter Pokemon. Tirtouga is a fossil, so I'm going to choose that in White 2. The good news is that I can get all the ones I didn't mention in Pokemon White 2 when I buy it, except Thundurous and Landorus. I will pay the $3 for Dream Radar to get them. Oddly enough, I received a Zekrom from trade back when it worked. I wish I had gotten everyone else while I was at it, especially the Thundurous. Then I wouldn't need Dream Radar, but I guess Dream Radar is good because it allows you to get hidden abilities of other Pokemon. Plus I might be able to restart and get more Thundurouses. Hopefully getting those Pokemon won't take long.
Getting Dream Radar and White 2 wouldn't be so bad. From my understanding, I have a chance to obtain a Giratina and Palkia if I insert a 4th generation catridge in the DS slot. I can also get the rarer evolutionary stones, which I can always use.
In Pokemon Black, I'm having problems motivating myself to play. I can catch all the 5th gen Pokemon. Pansage and Panpour in Pinwheel Forest with a 10% rarity when the grass is Shaking, Stunfisk by surfing in Route 8 with a 100% chance (wow, I am very lazy), Pawniard in Route 9 with a 20% rarity, Boffalant in Route 10 with a 20% rarity. With Terrakion and Virizion, I think I killed them, so I have to beat the Elite 4 again to make them reappear. And that is my plan on catching the remaining Pokemon.
Another motivation is to get a special Darmanitan. I want to get it, along with Terrakion and Virizion, with good IVs, which is untrainable once they are captured.
There are trades I want to do as well. Nacrene City (my Cottonee for a Petillil), Driftveil City (my Minccino for a Basculin), Route 7 (my Boldore for an Emolga), Route 15 (my Ditto for a Rotom), and Undella Town (my Cinccino for a Munchlax) has trades. I'm not sure if I want to do the Undella Town one, since a Minccino requires a stone to become a Cinccino. That's too much of a sacrifice. The rest are all expendable. Plus I can only do it in the summer, so I have to wait 6 more months.
Other motivations for me is doing the daily events. I can sell to item collectors, battle Cheren and Bianca, Battle Subway, Sports Dome, Royal Unova (4-7, especially on weekends), check out Unity Tower, see if I'm eligible for trade gifts in Castelia City, see if I'm eligible for Pokemon Fan Club gifts in Icirrus City, Berry Clown in Castelia City, Driftveil City Heart Scale, Cynthia battle, Gamefreak Battle, Black City trainers, Weather Stones (go between 5-8), Twist Mountain Fossils (make sure I have all of them), Route 13 Treasure Hunter, and Anville Town items (weekly). (This is all for my reference)
For my 3rd generation games, I'm only going to focus on getting the Lucky Egg. I literally looked back at my Probability notes, just to see the probability of me getting a Chansey with a Lucky Egg. Apparently, if I catch 60 Chanseys, I am 95% likely to obtain a Lucky Egg. So far, I think I caught at least 20 over the past few years. I know this because I looked at my storage boxes in Pokemon Black and saw I had at least 8 Chanseys lying around. My plan in Firered is to catch at least 3 Chanseys every day until I get the Lucky Egg. I want it to be a 2017 thing, but it'll most likely be procrastinated to 2018.
To figure stuff like that out, I used Bernoulli's theorem, which gives you the probability of occurance for binary outcomes. Assuming I catch a Chansey, the chance of me getting a Lucky Egg is 5%. The probability of failure is 95. Let's say I want a 95% chance of getting a Lucky Egg in my first "x" captures, which technically means I'm going to get a Lucky Egg. Setting up my Bernoulli equation, I get .95 = 1- xC0 * 5%^0 * 95%^x. Reducing this will give me 0.05 = 95%^x. x = ln 0.05 / ln 0.95, which is around 60 if we round to the nearest 30 (30 is the number of Pokemon in a storage box). If I repeat this with a 99% chance of getting a Lucky Egg within x captures, I get x = ln 0.01 / ln 0.95 = 90.
I'm not looking to improve anything in my 4th generation Pokemon games at the moment. I feel I already have everything I want in them. Or at least I feel that there's nothing to do in those games. My interests in Pokemon are Generation 3, then Generation 5. Generation 4 is just low priority.
My December goals: dating, school preparation, job search, stock market, sell textbooks, read IEEE magazines, organize stuff on my USB drives, Neopets, Kim Possible Season 5 story, Agario, Runescape, clean my room, play with my new technology, Nintendo stuff, Youtube videos, and work.
