#we’re ignoring gr*enwood’s implication that being the chosen of mystra makes you bi here#but i’m VERY interested in any trans gale headcanons y’all might have#bg3#gale dekarios#i know astarionposting is kind of my brand but from a lore perspective gale is so much more interesting

CHAPTER 4 - Long talks and sad tales
Before their departure, Eagan made sure to brief his companions thoroughly. He had a friend as a bargeman that could help them traverse the seas to Draulasla. They should look for a shapeshifter by the name of Kehsi Elmara. At this, Lyber protested with all his might, telling Eagan that if he knew this shifter, Eagan should go instead of him, but the soldier retaliated.
“I understand your concerns, but I am needed here, to look after the organisation. There are bigger things at stake, Lyber. Much bigger than you and me.” Eagan paused, a look of distress enveloping his face. “This journey is a trivial matter compared with what will happen if our goals are achieved. Please, this once, do this for me as a favour.”
Lyber thought of what could happen after they retrieved the Book of Essence. Everything would flourish, no more war, no more malice in the world, the foes that have preyed upon the land will vanish. Lyber lets himself hope, and he hopes for his loved ones to return. He hopes for Eiura to return. Or if maybe the gods above will not let her escape from the cold grasp of death, at least leave a part of her still present into this realm.
The constant nagging of his friend slightly brought him back to reality; he was suddenly reminded of his mother when he was but a child, always worrying he would get lost in the woods or the market, always saying he was a fragile little boy and that he was supposed to be accompanied by someone strong, someone like Eagan. They were inseparable as children, all throughout the years, even when they trained to be soldiers in the Royal Guard of Basineth. But then Lyber ran away. For love he made so many sacrifices, and yet he was robbed even of taking his last breath alongside her. Not to worry, they might find a way to bring her back yet.
Lyber straightened his back and started to properly pay attention to Eagan’s instructions. He was telling them to pack light, and Bernemdin assured the soldiers that there was no need to bring much money, because he would supply the food. Lyber wasn’t sure if he was supposed to trust the dwarf yet.
They have only met a few days ago and now they are embarking on an adventure to bring back the most precious artefact on this earth that may or may not snuff them out of existence if it fell in the wrong hands. And yet, he was secretly looking forward to leaving. It has been a while since he was able to travel.
“Now, I have devised a map to where you should meet up with Kehsi. I have sent them a letter telling them of our plan and intentions, it should reach by nightfall. In a week’s time I believe that you will reach the port. And hopefully no one will ask nor inquire in your matters. Travelling to Draulasla may be legal, but it is slightly frowned upon. I’ll leave you the map now so I won’t worry about it,” he said as he handed the parchment to Lyber. Bernemdin nodded along to the soldier.
“Tomorrow at the first light we shall meet here, Brimstone will give you all the documents to show that your journey was approved by the King,I will inquire about them today,” said Eagan as he nodded towards a skinny boy that watched them intently from his chair in the corner. “As for now, go have a drink, end your night with laughter and music, who knows when you’ll be able to see a good meal again.”
“You make it sound like we will die out there,” spat Lyber, and his friend only smiled sheepishly. Eagan patted the man on the back and left the sewers, and then, to the soldier’s surprise, Bernemdin turned and chuckled at him. Lyber asked what had happened, and with a content sigh the dwarf started to look for where Eagan had left.
“He is right, ye know? Yer more tense than diamonds trapped in coal. C’mon, let me treat you for dinner. We might as well get to know each other, lad.” The soldier didn’t answer, and just took the lead into the sewers.
After scouring the tunnels for some time, Lyber led the dwarf to an exit right behind a tavern. The alehouse was connected to a market that at night turned into a little carnival for everyone to enjoy. A pale yellowing sign hung above the door, depicting a raven with a ruby keeping place of one of his eyes, which could be read in crude writing “The One Eyed Raven.” How ironic, the thought that he was about to leave on a very dangerous mission to find a human sized raven made Lyber chuckle.
People were bustling around trying to get by, and with a little bit of effort they finally entered the tavern. Raucous laughter bounced between the walls, the smell of hard liquor and hot food hitting them both as they made their way to a table in the corner.
One of the servers, a young, shy girl took their order and so the man and the dwarf were sitting in silence. Lyber had already heard Bernemdin’s ‘story’, and from the looks of it, the dwarf was expecting him to say something. As he scoured his mind for topics of conversation, maybe the weather, or how they fought the harpy together, he heard his companion sigh that same not-really-dissapointed-but-still-concerned sigh again.
“You, my friend, are not v’ry good with words are ye?” chuckled Bernemdin.
“I could say the same, your accent is slipping from time to time. May I ask why?” retaliated the soldier.
“Aye, back in Garsindek we all speak common and dwarvish, but our accents sometimes blend together. I’ve tried to get rid of it best I can. Still slips out though, when I’m really happy or scared.”
Bernemdin looks a little sorrowful at this, and Lyber, curious enough, pries further.
“If you don’t mind my inquiry, do you have a bad relationship with your homeland?”
“Not really, just me family. I come from a long line of miners, proud dwarves that revel in their work. My great-grandfather opened our mine and found rare stones after only a few hundred metres, and we struck rich. When it came for me to carry the legacy and work in the mines, I refused.”
The shy girl came back with two big pins of beer. She rested them on the table as Bernemdin smiled warmly to her and nodded softly as a ‘thank you’.
“I’ve always liked the surface more than the underground, always wanted to take up gardening, and so I did. We lived in a mountain, the very heart of it, and one day I found a crack in the stone wall that led outside. Grew my garden near, and closed off the entrance with a boulder half me size. When they found out they destroyed me first pumpkin patch, along with the entire garden. I became an outcast and so I left. Only me mother took pity on me... She moved to Ordiff a while ago, after this mission o’ yers I’d like to visit her.” A small smile appeared on Bernemdin’s face as he remembered his mother, and the tender childhood memories that he casted away far back in his mind.
His eyes watered in the corners, but with a sniff he took his pint and drank half of the ale inside.
“Ah, good ale! Now, I told ye me whole sob story. What about ye, lad? All I might know is that yer missus died a while ago. I’m real sorry to hear.” Lyber looked tentatively in the dwarfs' eyes. He could only detect sincerity in all he said until now. He wasn’t going to tell him everything about his life, but he felt guilty not to share a tale as well.
Lyber told Bernemdin of his friendship with Eagan as children, and of the time he spent with Eiura. How they met, how they were a perfect match, where they ran away and how she died. He measured his words with care, not wanting to share details of his privacy.
As they talked and drank, the tavern started to empty, customers drunkenly stumbling around, some forgetting to pay, some leaving ‘to get more’ and never appearing again. The barkeep that seemed to manage the tavern eyed Lyber for a while, and his cold stare reminded the soldier of the eyes of the dead. He asked Bernemdin if he wanted to leave, and after they both finished their ale, they started to prepare to leave.
Suddenly, as he pat his pockets, Lyber realised he left his pouch with coins in the sewers, and that the only thing that filled his pockets was the stupid map that Eagan left him. He looked at Bernemdin and told him he didn’t have money right now, but he will pay him back as soon as tomorrow.
The dwarf let out a loud, almost piercing laugh. “Worry not lad! I’ll pay, after all I decided to treat ye so don’t worry about it. Here, I have some gems left. Mammy sends a few once every few months, so we’ll be fine.”
At the word ‘gems’, Lyber caught the glimpse of a tiefling girl with sharply pointed ears standing up straight. She moved slowly in her chair to eye the room, and determine from where she heard the sound of ‘slightly rich‘, but as soon as she turned she met Lyber’s sharp gaze. She moved back, left two silver coins on the table, pulled her brown hood over her dark horns and left.
Thieves, thought Lyber. He thanked Bernemdin and waited at the table as his companion went to the dead eyed barkeep to leave him what they owed. As he strode back, not really walking straight, Bernemdin beamed at the soldier. ”Listen son, would ye mind if we go through the carnival? They still have some shops open from the daytime market and I’d like to take a look.”
Lyber was in a rather good mood after this outing, and so he decided to entertain the dwarf a little bit more. “One last thing to end the night, I suppose. Why not? Let us go.”

REGARDING GENDER.
This post will be a little disjointed because I'm tackling two topics that fall under the same umbrella. One is Mys.tra's intentions in turning El into a woman. The other is El's own relationship with gender and how they present themself.
MYST.RA'S INTENTIONS.
El initially had no desire to practice magic. They were traumatized by it at a young age and turned to it only because there was no other way to thwart the tyrants ruining their home. Mys.tra, however, had been watching El since they were twelve years old. Although She did not interact with El directly until they were in their late teens, She had designs on them for a long time. She saw in them the potential for the perfect Chosen to serve Her in centuries to come. Her every interaction with El in these books, particularly the first three (chronologically), shows her forging them into the perfect vessel. (This will be crucial during the Time of Troubles.)
Turning "Elminster" into "Elmara", from a "man" into a "woman", is no exception. The reasons given in-text are: that El is being hunted and this will hide them; and that this will force El to see the world from a new perspective and thus grow as a person. Both things are true and both things do happen, but Mys.tra is not a deity who gives direct or full answers about anything. She is not called the Lady of Mysteries for nothing.
I propose there was an additional purpose in this: to begin claiming El for Herself, body and soul. Not only was El extremely hostile to Her and to magic in the beginning, but She had plans for them as a future vessel for Her power. Thus Her first act once El addresses Her directly for the first time is to fundamentally, spontaneously, without warning or consent alter their body and name. Then She charges them with learning from one of Her faithful before becoming Her cleric, entirely dependent on Her for spells before El learns to cast any by their own power.
"Elminster" thus lives as "Elmara" for several years before being allowed to change again. But, this change does not come under El's own power — not entirely. After serving as a cleric, they are allowed to become a wizard under the tutelage of Myrjala Talithyn. Unbeknownst to El, this is an avatar of Mys.tra. It is Myrjala who eventually leads "Elmara" to the spell that will make them "Elminster" again, but although they are able to cast it under their own power, knowledge of the spell itself is something they earn only after they have further proven themself. (Mys.tra often gives El the illusion of choice, the illusion of consent, but there are subtle manipulations at play.)
Then, a short while after, El spends twenty years as the "apprentice" of the Masked Mage. In reality, their will was enslaved, and they were subjected to torments I won't even touch on here. My.stra eventually, after ordering El into this situation, freed them from the Masked Mage's control, but She did so by turning El briefly into a woman, then back. El's autonomy, El's agency, was stripped from them for twenty years, yet they were not the one to reclaim it. Mys.tra reclaimed it for them, and did so by exerting Her will over every cell of their body.
These occurrences set a precedent for El's autonomy and identity being entirely in Mys.tra's hands. She says to whom else it is surrendered, controlling even if El is in possession of it. She has the "right" to alter them as She sees fit when She sees fit without consulting El. El must simply have faith and be grateful.
EL'S OWN IDENTITY.
Mys.tra's machinations aside, how does El themself identify? Mys.tra turning them into "Elmara" did at least have positive consequence. The time they spent as a "woman" studying in the High Forest was also the first time they were really able to slow down and do some introspection. Their entire life up to this point had revolved around simply surviving. Now they had the luxury of time; they had the luxury to question.
Adjusting to a different body — still El's but fundamentally altered in form — took some adjusting, but they found they mentally acclimated to it quite quickly. It was an easy transition. Pleasant even. This led to them asking questions they'd never considered before. What is gender? What is its relation (if any) to one's body and presentation? How do they identify? What pronouns suit them? Etc, etc. These are questions they ponder over years, in fact, rarely voicing them but always chewing on them in their own head.
Ultimately, they find home in the concept of genderfluidity — or would if that term existed for them. The concept that stands behind it is the most suited to them, though. For them specifically, this means they sometimes identify as a man, sometimes as a woman, and sometimes as agender. They use all pronouns and aren't really bothered by how others address them.
In terms of rp, I'll default to "they" when writing metas / hcs. In terms of threads, I'll go with the flow as to which set of pronouns are used. Some threads I'll use he; some I'll use she; and some I'll use they. Again, though, I think El themself will use any pronouns, so partners are welcome to take their cue from what I'm using or go with what they think their character would use — you get the picture.
They do, however, alter their representation depending on how they identify. This doesn't just mean clothing and cosmetics. I headcanon that El was able to retain knowledge of the spell that turned them from "Elmara" into "Elminster". Frankly, they deserve to have this bit of autonomy for themself; it should not all rest in Mys.tra's hands. There is a limit to how frequently they can cast the spell, but that's fine as they often identify a certain way for weeks or months at a time. They are not able to cast the spell on anyone except themself, but they will gladly teach it to others or transcribe it onto a scroll for their use. The textual description of the spell follows —
As El stared at the crawling runes on that page, they seemed to writhe and reform until she could suddenly read them. It was a spell that completely and permanently transformed the gender of the wizard casting it.

from the FR wiki: "When he ran afoul of the magelords' temple in the city, El was overcome by hostile guardsmen and saved by Mystra herself. The Lady of Magic transformed him into a woman named Elmara to strengthen his bond with magic and to expand his understanding of the world. For a few years, "Elmara" served a priestess of Mystra in Athalantar and beyond. After some time, Mystra appeared to El once again as Myrjala Talithyn and trained her in the ways of spellcasting. The two became dear friends, and fell in love with one another. Over time however, Elmara felt compelled to "reveal" to Myrjala his true identity as Elminster, and shared his quest to take back Athalantar from the malevolent magelords. As an avatar of Mystra, Myrjala of course was fully aware of El's shared identities.
...after a night of revelry and celebration, Elminster and Myrjala departed the kingdom. On their way out, however, Undarl revealed himself as one of the malaugrym from a different plane of existence and attacked them on the road out of the city. Myrjala's magic was ineffective against the otherworldly creature and she appeared to die from its spells. To prevent Elminster from foreswearing the use of magic, Mystra revealed herself to Elminster and proposed that he become one of her Chosen. Elminster readily agreed."

Canon Application
Character name: Elminster Aumar
Character series: Dungeons and Dragons (Forgotten Realms, Baldur's Gate 3, others)
Point taken from: As seen in the game Baldur's Gate 3 (1492 DR)
Do you allow canon doubles to app? No
Link to stats page: -----------
Short character about: Elminster, AKA "The One Who Walks", AKA "The Old Mage", AKA "The Sage of Shadowdale", is a venerable wizard whose life is full of wild tales, and even more myths. Believed by many to be more than 1,000 years old, it is said that Elminster alone survived a terrible attack by a malevolent magelord on his hometown, leaving him orphaned and with his father's broken blade, 'The Lion Sword' to steward. For a time he lived with outcast knights, part of their merry band until he could no longer abide the violence and set out on his own at 16. Once his time as a bandit passed, Elminster turned his life to the study of magical arts, but not before being saved by the very Goddess of Magic herself, Mystra. After revealing their true forms to one another (Elminster had been transformed into a woman, "Elmara", and Mystra had in turn taken on a human form as "Myrjala"- yes it is a lot, the author understands) El and Mystra came to love one another rather deeply, and El dedicated his life to being the chosen to the Mother of All Magic. There are many tales to be told about Elminster: his trials by Mystra to fall to the powers of Bane, his raising of Mystra's mythical daughters reared through the lives of other Chosen, how he rallied a band of Harpers to fight off a blight of malaugrym at Blackstaff Tower in what would later be known as "The Year of the Stalking Satyr", and his constant conflict with the nefarious and immortal wizard Manshoon. His loves, and losses, were many. When one lives to surpass the lives of so many mortals, friendship becomes a rare currency. None of these was so interestingly bought, then, than the friendship to Volothamp Geddarm, author of the widely popular but seldom fact-checked "Volo's Guide to…" series of travelogues. What started as more of a 'amicable tolerance' turned into an endearing friendship, with El flexing his powers- and his knowledge- to aide the bard time and time again, making the two form an unlikely bond that spans over the very planes of existence themselves. From acts so monumental as rewriting space and time, to the old wizard simply proofreading Volo's many works, the two are two sides of the same coin: one brings the undeniable charisma, and one brings centuries of power. In the end, to pretend like one knows the entire life of Elminster is to be the most ignorant of people. Would anyone believe you, after all, if you claimed that the wizard had a child with a song-dragon? Would they believe you if you claimed the wizard once fought with avatars of Bane and Shar, or if you claimed that Elminster once saved leaders of some of the most prosperous towns along the Sword Coast like a nanny protects a child? Read all of the books you can, scour through every scroll, hire every historian- you'll only ever know part of Elminster's story. ---------------
Personality: Elminster is as unpredictable as the roaring waves. At times, he is said to be good-natures, caring and charming in equal measure, while at other times people have called him arrogant or even overly-serious. One must remember that humans are emotional enough in these short lives that we are given- what happens when given ten scores of those lives to live? Still, records of his time travelling will more likely than not reflect a man who is more inquisitive and interested in helping others than causing reckless violence against those who are innocent. For every tale of Elminster acting out of instinct and making brash decisions, there are scores of stories of a calm and collected mage using logic and reason (and perhaps a bit of magic) to seek peaceful solutions. He is protective of the people he cares about and those that have earned his love and respect. It is only when you find yourself in his inner-circle that the wizard will finally pull off the mask and reveal precisely how he feels. While he may have a vernacular that could put entire libraries to shame, and at times can drone on as if his listeners are *also* gifted with unnaturally long lives, he can be a man of simple tastes: food, wine, a good book, a good place to read it, and good company to discuss it all with. A fun fact: Elminster snores so loudly that people can hear him across rooms and halls. To alleviate this, El will typically use magic to mute himself if in the company of others; though this does still strike people as confusing, as Chosen of Mystra don't really need sleep... -----------
Abilities: -IMMORTAL: Elminster doesn't age, and is immune to any effect that would cause his age to change. He is still susceptible to being killed, so long as it isn't by the hands of time. -ELMINSTER'S EVASION: Elminster is under the effect of multiple modified contingency spells. Anytime he is about to die, or his soul is about to be trapped, he is transported to a harmless demiplane where he begins to slowly heal himself. He will need to remain here for ten days until he can travel planes and this ability will be available again. RESTISTANCES- Elminster is immune to all forms of poison, and has massive resistances to magic and fire. SILVER FIRE: Elminster can surround himself in silver flame, which lasts until he ends this ability at will. While active, him and everything he carries gain resistance to cold and are unharmed by anything warmer than -50f. He can also throw this fire, causing massive damage to others, or damaging those that come too close to him and the fire. *SPELLCASTING* CANTRIPS (at will): -Mage hand: A spectral, floating hand appears at a point you choose within range. When you cast the spell, you can use the hand to manipulate an object, open an unlocked door or container, stow or retrieve an item from an open container, or pour the contents out of a vial. -Fire bolt: You hurl a mote of fire at a creature or an object within range. The target receives very small fire damage, but can possibly have their clothes or other flammable items on them be caught on fire. A flammable object hit by this spell starts burning if it isn’t being worn or carried. -Minor Illusion: You create a sound or an image of an object within range that lasts for the duration. 1ST LEVEL (at will): -Disguise Self: You make yourself—including your clothing, armor, weapons, and other belongings on your person—look different until the spell ends. You can seem 1 foot shorter or taller and can appear heavier or lighter. You must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs as you have. Otherwise, the extent of the illusion is up to you. -Magic Missile: You create three glowing darts of magical force. Each dart strikes a creature of your choice that you can see within range. The damage is very minimal, like being hit with a sudden burst of focused air, however if cast with malice, the damage could increase. The darts all strike simultaneously, and you can direct them to hit one creature or several. -Shield: An imperceptible barrier of magical force protects you. Until the start of your next turn, you become harder to hit as an ethereal shield forms around your person, and makes the damage of other attacks decrease while also making you immune to other Magic Missile's. 2ND LEVEL (at will): -Mirror Image: Three illusory duplicates of yourself appear in your space. Until the spell ends, the duplicates move with you and mimic your actions, shifting position so it’s impossible to track which image is real. People trying to attack or throw things at Elminster using Mirror Image are more likely to miss and the duplicate is destroyed.
-Suggestion: You suggest a course of activity—described in no more than 25 words—to one creature you can see within range that can hear and understand you. The suggestion must sound achievable and not involve anything that would obviously deal damage to the target or its allies. For example, you could say, “Fetch the key to the cult’s treasure vault, and give the key to me.” Or you could say, “Stop fighting, leave this library peacefully, and don’t return.”
3RD LEVEL (at will):
-Counterspell: You attempt to interrupt a creature in the process of casting a spell. By casting this ability with intent to stop another person's spell, their abilities are unable to be cast.
-Fly: You touch a willing creature. For the duration, the target gains the ability to fly! Ethereal blue wings sprout out from your back, and you're able to fly just as quickly as you can run or walk normally. When the spell ends, the target falls if it is still aloft unless it can stop the fall.
-Lightning Bolt: A stroke of lightning forming a 100-foot-long, 5-foot-wide Line blasts out from you in a direction you choose. If someone is caught in the arc of this lightning bolt, you are likely to receive a terrible shock, but if you avoid it and are only close, you could become disoriented. 4TH LEVEL (3 uses):
-Stoneskin: For a short amount of time, usually no longer than five minutes, your skin turns as hard as stone, making you more resistant to all forms of damage. You can still move with your joints and mouth, however flexibility is not as prevalent as with normal skin.
-Greater Invisibility: Either yourself or a creature that you cast this spell on and touch gain complete invisibility for a few minutes, lasting longer if standing completely still or lasting shorter if moving quickly. 5TH LEVEL (3 uses):
-Wall of Force: An Invisible wall of force springs into existence at a point you choose within range. The wall appears in any orientation you choose, as a horizontal or vertical barrier or at an angle. Nothing can physically pass through the wall. It is immune to all damage. The color takes on the form that the caster wishes, but will generally be safe to touch. 6TH LEVEL (3 uses):
-Disintegrate: You launch a green ray at a target you can see within range. The necrotic energy is cast like a decayed lightning bolt, but those struck with it feel just as much damage to their soul as they do their body. Beings in good health may be able to survive, but can still suffer a damaged psyche if their mental fortitude is not strong enough. 7TH LEVEL (3 uses): -Group Transportation: This spell instantly transports you and up to eight willing creatures that you can see within range, or a single object that you can see within range, to a destination you select. This location must be no greater than half a mile away, and if the caster is unfamiliar with the final location, the accuracy may be off. It requires all members to be willing to be transported, or they are left behind. 8TH LEVEL (2 uses):
-Maze: You banish a creature that you can see within range into a labyrinthine demiplane. For at least fifteen minutes and up to an hour, that creature or person is sentenced to wander an unending maze that always changes, never allowing one to find their way back and rising higher and higher if someone tries to fly ahead.
-Incendiary Cloud: A swirling cloud of embers and smoke fills a 20-foot-radius Sphere centered on a point, engulfing everything in a roaring fire. One of the most wild and malevolent of fire spells, this is only ever cast when care for the nearby place and people are no longer a priority- only the damage that can be done. 9TH LEVEL (2 uses):
-Meteor Swarm: Blazing orbs of fire plummet to the ground at four different points you can see within range. Hurled from the sky, these meteors shake the ground violently wherever they land, and can injure or kill those unlucky enough to not move out of their way. This spell requires open sky to cast in, less the wizard bring the building down upon himself!
-Wish: Wish is the mightiest spell a mortal can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter reality itself. Such options include creating objects, restoring full health, resistance and spell immunity, and sudden learning. ------------------
Weapons/important items: -Mantle of Spell Resistance: Elminster finds that he can better avoid the different damages hurled at him in the world by wearing this aged garment. A large flowing cloak that the mage can change in color, but often sticks to a deep purple.
-Ring of Regeneration: This ring, blessed by gods of healing and justice, strengthen the mind of the wearer and assist the body in continuously healing itself at a slow rate. Some have even said that if the hand wearing this ring is cut off, another hand would eventually grow back in its place!
-Ring of Protection: It is unclear if there is a certain deity blessing this ring or the wearer, but all report of instances of bright shielding light blocking an attack that could have killed the wearer. It is not always guaranteed and indeed rather rare, but many people owe their lives to these rings.
-Bracers of Defense: For a wizard with no heavy armor and only magic to shield him, Elminster takes whatever lightweight defenses he can get! His bracers are old, but handled with care and they've repaid him by saving his arms from slicing and dicing more than once!
-"Lion Sword": A sword that was reforged from the fragments retrieved from his ruined home. There are stronger swords in many other planes, but El continues to use this weapon without fail.
-Eversmoking Pipe: A magical pipe that never needs to be refilled, and can last until El decides to extinguish it or put it away.

Elmara, Kingdom of Taruschkan ⸻ 5th Awaiting, 678th Year of the Common Reckoning Jakob greeted the dawn of the next Venera’s Day standing before what seemed to be half the Company of the Star, stripped to the waist and shivering slightly in the early morning chill. I make 300 dollars less than the cost of rent alone, let alone bills and, you know, fucking food!
Comms are now for trying to make ends meet and to keep a roof over my and my son's head without burdening other family. I'm looking for part time work as well, but obviously, when you're considered too disabled to work that's not an easy thing.
So I'm opening a few slots. Turnaround is fairly fast, I rarely take over a month to complete a piece, and will send you progress shots throughout. We can communicate either through tumblr IMs or discord. Your choice.
I have two main commission types: Painterly and Simple. Prices vary a LOT between them, because I am pricing based on the time I have to take.
All prices are in USD.
If you like my work, or think I did a particularly good job on your comm, please consider tipping through ko-fi!
Ko-fi now also offers exclusive tiers, including access to my private sketchbook!
I am experienced in drawing:
Humanoid, Anthro, Monster, and Feral. Forest and dreamlike scenes. Flightrising is obviously welcome, but not all that I draw by any means!
I am inexperienced in drawing:
Mecha and otherwise inorganic subjects.
I will draw: Artistic nudity, body horror, moderate violence/blood.
I will NOT draw:
Hardcore porn, anything to do with "noncon", minors in questionable situations. You get the idea.
Please message me via Ask here on Tumblr and I will reply via IM, or send a PM through Flight Rising.
More examples under the cut!

BFKDBSKS OFC owo
Anyways under the cut, also I'm just gon write stuff abt the first three I redrew, I'm gon add some facts for the other four tomorrow hahah
Elmara
•in her 50s, well, physically that is, since she's the Goddess of Darkness, she's basically immortal
•a retired actress, through one of their sets, that's how she and her ex met
-ofc, bc of the pressure of the people and their manager, that's how they got together
-she did try to believe there was smth good in him, but yeah ever since they had their kids he changed, or rather she finally just how fucked up he was
-so when they got divorced, she really fought to keep the kids. They divorced when Jacob (their youngest) was still around 3y/o
•really really really likes tea, the kids are sure the other 70% of her is tea
•since she still has her own dark magic, she uses it to create shadow like beings to guard around their home during nighttime
•after the incident with her ex husband, she homeschooled the twins Wilhelm and Yvonne, Percival, and Jacob
-it took years of convincing before she finally relented and listened to her kids to let them go to actual school
-the incident, well, when the twins were 7, Percival was 5, and Jacob was 3, they were kidnapped by their father; shit happened, he had them hostaged, was broadcasted, and he showed everyone just how he burnt Percival's face w a branding iron
-when Elmara saw that, she went batshit man, like really used her dark powers to turn every camera off, got to the safehouse her ex was, broke the lights and killed him then and there
-no one really saw that she's the one who did it, ofc, so she made the excuse that he really was losing it and killed himself
-everyone believed her bc why wouldn't they
•believes her brother is out there somewhere
-despite her bitterness, she does miss him
~~~~~
Katarina
•aroace, she/they icon, we stan
•looks can be quite deceiving, she actually works at a local shop near their home
-in her late 20s
•got her scar from a fight during her highschool years
-she was so proud of it bc she won that fight
-she doesn't really have to work, but she somehow wants to be independent and not rely on her mother's money all the time
-really close w the manager of said shop, wc is a sweet old lady still trying to run the place for 10 years now
-really soft spoken when it comes to her boss ngl
-she actually didn't try to apply for the job as a clerk, she was called in to fix smth since she's a mechanic (but didn't get to finish her degree)
-they ended up applying bc they saw the manager and went "yeah, this place is gonna go bankrupt and Im too attached to this old lady at this point" after their boss gave her cookies as a thank you
•honestly rather dense ngl
-one customer was flirting w them and they're there wondering why she kept coming back when she said once she's going broke
•protective of her siblings ofc
-altho, she does get pissed at the twins sometimes but hey, they just love to mess w her
•really good cook, everyone's fuckin surprised
•actually saw the dark beings her mother made during night one time
-scared the shit outta em, but they didn't tell anyone cause she thought maybe she was just tired and was seeing things
•quick tempered, broke a ton of phones during her teen years
-Elmara had to make a compromise that if she breaks another phone she won't be getting one for another ten years
-that made her more careful with her stuff
~~~~
Luka
•genderfluid, he/they icon, we stan
-also in his late 20s
•an absolute freeloader
-Katarina has to force him out of the house sometimes and makes him help out in the shop
•is in a band as a lead singer
-tried to rope in Katarina in his band, but to no avail
•loves to help the twins w pranks
-got in trouble a few too many times
•took music in college, somehow it actually payed off
-his band is actually quite successful
-then again, he has the Galeas name, so he was already famous
•hes the type of sibling that can sense someone in distress a mile away and would try to cheer them up w his music
-he actually sang for the twins when they were still younger
-thats why they're close w him
•heard someone shit talk his mother once, threw hands w them and surprisingly he won
-it was 1v4
-Elmara was so fuckin worried abt him but his siblings were impressed
•lowkey a mama's boy actually, Elmara spoiled him rotten when he and Katarina were younger
-yeah really the opposite of Katarina
#love how this went from kinda angsty w elmara and rather mundane to kat and luka hahah#but hey yeah thanks for the ask cjdmnd#its so nice being able to talk abt em hahaha#an ask and an answer#anon#oc tag
