Scar lies out under the moon. Mumbo and Grian have fallen asleep in their tents after a long campfire of heckling Mumbo about his middling ukulele skills and Grian about his even worse kazoo skills. (Scar would like to state that his own horn skills were perfect.) They'd planted flowers, they'd spied on the great big square of technology in front of them, and they'd discovered Grian is allergic to sand now, for some reason. It had been fun, and companionable, and not at all like the preamble for anything else.

And, okay, just because something rhymes with history doesn't mean it's the same thing, right? Unlike last time, this hadn't all started out with secrets and fun experiments and Grian getting unnecessarily miffed about a time machine he really shouldn't have had in the first place. Also, Mumbo is here. And Zedaph, apparently? Scar hasn't put together how Zedaph is involved but if Zedaph is involved it can't be the same concern at all--

--except. Well. It's Doc. And Scar's been on the other side of this before. Both sides. An expert on both sides. He's an expert on aliens now, too! Maybe time travel? Grian's probably more of an expert on time travel but after the whole Rift thing Scar's pretty sure if he asked Grian about it Grian would punch him and like, he'd deserve it, but it'd still hurt, you know? And...

Scar turns some of the lovely, perfect cherry blossom petals over in his hands. They're soft and smooth and also not actually the thing that ended up being a match for Doc at all, except for the trident thing.

Also, Scar still remembers the moon thing from last season. Gosh, between the moon and the Rift and whatever the aliens were Mumbo accidentally angered in season seven that made them all swap places for a bit and--not important. The important part of the moon thing is that Doc had been involved.

Scar doesn't. Hm. It's not that he doesn't trust Doc. He does! He super trusts Doc! He also super trusts Grian! They're his pals! His buddies! His comrades-in-arms! Also, Mumbo's here, and if that's not a trustworthy mustache, Scar doesn't know what is, and--

Fully finished 15 Nikolai AU Character sheet + Headcannons!!!

Nikolai is a Piano player and I will not accept him playing any other instrument other than that. His cannon design even looks like a Piano how much more piano-y can a character get?? He is those self-taught pianist. The type that only knows chords and those weird numbered sheets music you get in those church songs lol (Fyodor taught him to read sheet music later on ;3)

It took me so long to figure out his sexuality, It was between Gay, Pan, Achillean but I settled with Omnisexual

Jerry is a man who values family and loved ones above all else.

It's just that... when it comes to actual yandere behavior... he doesn't have it in him.

He's obsessed over you to the point he worships you saving him from his depression.

But kidnapping? Murder? Any ounce of really being a threat?

Don't get me wrong, if he was desperate enough he'd try.

I just can't say there's going to be much success compared to more intense yanderes like Rick or even "Doofus Jerry".

He's too much of a delusional or clingy yandere to really hurt anyone else.

I will say he has his moments.

Primarily Jerry just likes to get lost in you.

He stares at you, clings to you, mumbles about how you've "saved" him.

Kidnapping would come off as him trying to guilt trip you into staying with him.

Full on laying on the floor at your feet and sobbing kind of stuff.

He's just so pathetic you kind of want to help him anyways?

Even then, Jerry is a yandere whose very easy to manipulate.

You could convince him to let you go easily.

He is very gullible.

In terms of if he'd hurt someone out of jealousy or not it would probably be by accident.

He never means to hurt anyone.

He just wants to love you and be the best man he can be for you!

He's a yandere who rebounds hard and is a bit too physically affectionate for his own good.

You would've gotten rid of him by now but...

God... he's just... really sad-

He's a really sad man all alone in that apartment, okay?

He follows you around like a puppy, hell he even gives you the look of a kicked puppy at times.

Honestly the moment you get involved with him it's like quicksand.

The relationship is toxic because it's emotionally demanding.

The moment you let Jerry into your life he sticks to you like glue.

No amount of prying can get you away from Jerry once you accept him into your life...

You're stuck with him the moment he's attached, people around you are safe for the most part, but now you have a man who drains all of your attention from you like a parasite.

Ooh this bit. I've seen it referenced a lot in the fandom discussions, but never seen the conversation reproduced or redone in fic (probably because if it happens in the AU, it happens so close to the canon version there's no need to rewrite it or anything)

ehhhhhhh, I mean... she's not wrong exactly, but it's also not ridiculous because real people are really dying. In RL, if someone went around in a costume with codenames trying to fight crime, then yeah, absolutely, that's ridiculous, even if they made actual progress somehow.

But if that same costumed weirdo could fly, or fart fire or w/e, then it's a lot harder to not take seriously.

I mean, if all the villains were as nice and soft as the Undersiders, or at least most of them, sure. I don't think Lisa's wrong to an extent, but the Undersiders are very much the minority, and you guys still have the ability to really fucking hurt people.

Are there readers that actually buy this? I buy Taylor buying this to an extent, given her mindset and so forth, rn, though I doubt she 100% buys it, but equally, it sometimes feels like some of the fans actually buy this mindset.

You are better than most of the alternatives, sure, but while it's true that the heroes would have a lot lower profile without the villains (and if there were no villains the heroes might not stay heroes what with all that conflict urging or w/e of the Shards) but as far as Lisa knows, the heroes could just... you know, use their powers constructively if there weren't villains eating up their time.

That is a stupid question, Lisa. The Birdcage isn't just a catch all for every supervillain. It's a nightmare blackbox you shove the worst (or the alleged worst, anyway) into. It's a "Break Glass In Case of Scion" Box. It's certainly not a place you shove Uber and Leet into unless they cross lines. We don't put people into maximum security prisons just for assault and theft, usually (Which, AFAIK, is all Uber and Leet have done largely - AFAIK, they haven't killed anyone)

Or, you know, it could be that some people have standards? I mean, I get what you're saying, about protecting the game, the unwritten rules, etc, but equally, like... no? Yeah, when someone crosses a line everyone goes after them because that's like... the whole point of lines.

Ehhhhhhh, alright, might as well. This is copy-pasted from the ROJ Discord:

"I figure y’all are all due an update since I said I’d be back by now and ROJ has gone pretty quiet. And with some recent discussions going on in the community, discussing ROJ came back up.

I wanna tread carefully with this because I don’t want saying any of this to feel like I’m trying to take the spotlight off people more directly involved. Because while I did miss an opportunity here that I’m very sad about, other folks lost actual jobs and that feels self centered to focus on me. But I’m also not gonna lie and say that seeing some of the community response has me hopeful that maybe the community could motivate the team to change their minds.

That’s a bit vague so let’s be direct. You may have seen recently that SSE has shuttered their publishing department from Elli and Helena talking about how there won’t be more comics or books. I knew this happened months ago because, surprise, I’d been in contract negotiations with SSE to make ROJ an official IP. I’d been kinda tongue and cheek about this, it was an open secret with friends since there was no contract yet. And there never ended up being one unfortunately. When the team shuttered the department, I got a very kind email from the department head and that’s been the end of it.

This is why 1.1 got delayed for so long. I’d been hoping that instead of 1.1, ROJ would move into official production and get a relaunch. So I kept pushing off the release of what was arguably an already ready version of 1.1 until things got signed and we moved forward. 1.1 released very shortly before I got the news. Just had a feeling things were changing, and I was right.

All of this has made coming back to ROJ difficult. I back burnered it originally to focus on other projects until contracts were done but ended up a lot more painful than that after nearly two years of trying to make a deal happen. I don’t begrudge that being the time these things take to produce well or SSE for it taking that long, but it is still two years of my life that I spent excited that maybe I’d get to bring more lore and worldbuilding to this franchise I adore, and a platform for all of y’all to share your ideas as well! ROJ was never going to be true canon but it was a fan’s dream come true. I’ve been playing since international launch, this was bringing every community fan head canon to the table. In some small way at least.

Again, of any people who deserve attention during this discussion about the department shuttering, it’s Elli and Helena. They’re amazingly talented and they deserved better than what they got. If there ever is a return of the publishing department, it should be for their works.

But the discussion has brought it all back up for me too and I thought I’d at least talk a little about why ROJ has come to a standstill. It’s hard to go back to working on the system after two years of talks and because of the short notice that things rolled out, not even some closure on running ROJ as a fan project. That’s how serious things had been, I wasn’t getting resources to continue ROJ as a fan project cause I’d been told the team was committed to seeing it officially published. It’s kinda hard to come back to that and the hiatus was a good enough excuse for me to just not.

This all is very bittersweet, and I should say, I’m not mad at the team or the folks I worked with during that time. It would have been an amazing opportunity and I’m grateful for them working so hard to get ROJ out for so long. But I’m also just sad about the whole thing and I don’t see ROJ getting more attention until I can process that.

Please show your support for Elli and Helena. Their works are amazing and they deserve more support from the community. And if you haven’t already, follow their other works too!

Again, I've been hesitant to talk about this because, mostly, I don't want to take the spotlight off the people who were more seriously impacted. ROJ didn't get a contract, I'm not in the lurch like this closure left other folks because I hadn't adjusted to making ROJ my full time work yet. I also don't want to burn bridges in the event that the department ever returns, which is why I've tried to focus this discussion on the creators and supporting them over pushes to reestablish the department (although I appreciate those as well). I would love still to make the official ROJ transition happen, but I don't want that so badly that I'm not trying to do my best to support these creators post the closure, and realistically, y'all should be too. That's why I made that post with all the resources.

A combat genius with a high IQ and yet Gokudera was an idiot about his own emotions. It wasn't any surprise though that Lambo wouldn't understand that. He didn't know about Gokudera's past. He didn't know he was alone most of his life and had to learn to get used to being rejected and turned away. Never good enough for any girl, never good enough for any other Mafia until now, what would Haru see in him anyway? Like the cow said she always liked nice guys and he wasn't usually nice. He was the very definition of the reckless, rough and violent delinquents that were the exact type she always said she didn't like.

Eliza gets into some Hijinks and gets herself accidentally kidnapped by the Titan Army. She can escape at any time bc (reason here) but she's curious and hangs around anyway. Bia, was just going on a stroll with her fiance's adopted brother/son, Tyson, in the Labyrinth. Definitely not to ask for his blessing, no way.

And then they stumble on a demigod wearing prison orange. Like any good enemy leader, she takes the girl under her custody, and is polite when she puts the girl in handcuffs. She doesn't involve Tyson because he's a neutral party.

Eliza goes peacefully, bc she does not like the look of that huge battle-axe, and doesn't want to ruin Tyson's super important undercover mission.

Of course Bia starts the recruitment spiel, "Aren't you tired of (Luke's points here)" and then asks who her godly parent is.

"Apollo" Eliza answers, because what's the harm?

Soon the cuffs come off.

And then have a long talk and get to know each other and Bia complains about her dad bc she does that with everybody. Bia is so proud of herself for recruiting someone so easily, making a new friend, and securing her fiance's family's blessing! Bia is having such a good time and she has friends! She's across the country from the creepy Titan palace, and she feels so free and excited! If she's acting more like her old self than the Titan Army general then that's for her to repress, thank you very much.

And look, Eliza knows this lady is a threat to everything she holds dear but her stories are so cool!!!!! Bia's kinda trauma dumping, Eliza's kinda trauma dumping, it's cool. But eventually, after Eliza's finished the peanut butter cereal bar Bia gave her, she has to tell her cool new (but also ancient) older sister that no, she can't join the Titan Army, her friends are all at camp half-blood, plus she likes the mortal world how it is, thanks.

"And, ummm, can I ask you a question?"

Bia looks significantly less open and friendly. In fact, Eliza is reminded that this woman is a general, with a large battle-axe, staring at her, seeming unimpressed. Eliza probably should have asked before she rejected her, but oh well.

"Ask, young matriarch." Matriarch isn't quite the right term, but she seems to be a strong capable leader of her household, and Bia wants to give the proper respect.

"You don't mention Apollo in any of your stories, but you act as if you know him, know his true nature, why? And if you're a goddess, why don't you act like one? Not that- You just don't act like any goddess I've met! And why haven't I heard of you?! And if you seem so nice, why are you fighting against us?!" The questions all explode out of her, bc ADHD.

And we'll, that makes the task Bia's been psyching herself up for easier, because Eliza's broached the topic herself.

And Bia tells her it all. Trusts her with her entire tragic backstory.

As she tells her about being exiled, she wonders whether Eliza would have been deemed not good enough. This girl is so strong and sweet and brave... but Eirene did everything right. She existed for the gods. Was Apollo's perfect daughter but of course not good enough. She watches Eliza's face drop and crumple, her eyes grow glassy, and pushes through the weak, hurt parts of herself to feel a cruel pride.

Although she glosses over pretty much all Kronos stuff, because that would make the Titan Lord's actions seem worse than they actually were. The girl would get the wrong idea.

Eliza doesn't stay quiet. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" After the exile. "TARTARUS?!" She has Thoughts.

Bia ends with the question of why.

"I do this, young matriarch, because Apollo deceived me, betrayed me, wronged me. As with Zeus, and the other Olympians," Eliza marvels at someone wanted by the Olympians still saying their names without fear. "I will do whatever I must to avenge myself."

It's the first time in years that Bia has called Eirene herself. "I did not deserve to be thrown out of my home and into hell. But I don't just fight for myself anymore. I fight for all my family. I fight for demigods who deserve support from their parents, who deserve to live and grow into adults, who deserve love, not to die for an immortal's errand." And Eliza hates, hates, how Right that sounds. How Just. Because (insert fun trauma here, like a monster attack or being unable save someone injured by the TA).

Bia... understands. She respects Eliza's decision, because she sees her as a sister, as family. "My offer is always open. And if you're half as brave as you seem, I will always be proud to call you my sister."

And if, as she watches Eliza leave, she whispers a blessing to the demigod's back, it might be because she sees herself in the girl.

And she knows what Apollo did to her.

(and after the war? as in the canon timeline? fuck no. Lockup doesn't talk anymore now and he's shorn his hair off.) If you were to ask him, he'd say something like 'someone he feels safe with, he trusts, he can cry near without inhabitation'. It's such a broad answer, it's almost a non-answer again, though you have to know that the chance of him feeling safe enoug to cry near a person is zero to none. He'd also want someone adjacent to the war somehow or someone that is aware of what is going on. He doesn't want to have completely re-explain his trauma and terror to some civi, it's hard enough as it is to talk with people without his Everything standing in the way.

Traits he'd 'like' would be something like 'stability, kindness, self assured, humor'. Very basic, I know, but he honestly is currently just figuring things out (and has fucked around a bit because of it. He has yet to meet someone that has been able to come even close to making him wanna stay. Lockup has Issues) I'm sorry this is very hard to think about, he's a deeply unromantic person, both as in he doesn't really care for romance rn and generally unromantic. Look, in the broadest of all broadest senses, sexuality is a looooooot more loose in sw, at least to me. Every since I learned of that one wolf dude that is married to the future seeing death worm, I decided, screw it, I won't apply rules of attraction of our world to sw, we're going with the very basic "you like them? good" without caring for pretty much anything else. I make more of a distinction of 'has sexuell attraction or not'. Of course, there are a lot of cultures within the verse where this won't fly. Just as there's a completely different understanding of gender and sexuality in different cultures here, it's very much the case for sw. But that is going into specifics again.

I mean, Jackal (if they'd survived eyyyyyyyyy >:D) ends up with Kaia, a human with some togruta blood in his veins. Jackal is half fish, half zabrak, which is it's own whole thing again and they have teeth the size of fingers and ngl, not for everyone. Kaia on the other said 'jep! I like that one!'

So, that is all to say, I think of everyone as bisexuell unless explicitly stated otherwise. Hilarious lil fun-fact, quite a few of my characters (and headconans) are ace. Jackal, Hyde, Cody (he'll always be ace in everything thx) as examples. Margo and Eisen are aro/ace actually and it's absolutely hilarious because Eisen specifically knows he's hot and uses it as a negotiation tactic, but he's a deeply sex-averse person. Augh speakin of the last reblog I have such super mixed feelings about my costume. Like I’d feel great in it if it was a group costume with all 4 members of JTTW but I feel like I’m just cosplaying a monk even with the 9 ringed staff & Mitch dressing as Sun Wukong. Like it doesn’t feel obvious enough that it’s a specific character to me without the whole group and I feel weird about it and kinda wanna bail and do something else. I’ll keep the costume in case we ever DO a group thing cause it could be fun and actually looks fairly good but for now ehhhhhhh idk.
