i'm not gonna get mad or unfollow you for shipping cc (you do you ig) but i feel like people who ship real people need to acknowledge the side of their fandom that takes things too far. above all else, remember that these are real people, with real life. it's rude to shove this made up version of people into their faces. important to maintain boundaries

first of all thank you for maintaining diplomacy here, not everyone in my inbox always does, but I do think I need to clarify something if I haven’t already:

When I say I “ship crisscolfer” I guess what I really mean by that is that I think they dated at one point during the filming of glee, but aren’t together anymore. Would I like for them to be? Yeah I think that would be awesome lol I love both of them and they’re some of my favorite role models/celebrities.

Second, “need to acknowledge the side of the fandom that takes things too far.” If this is about the side of fandom that believes Darren and Chris are still secretly together, then okay; I’m acknowledging them. With all due respect, what does that have to do with me? I understand what you were going for, but at the end of the day, I am not responsible for anyone’s actions except my own, and one group of fandom is not responsible for another’s. There are people like you, who respectfully disagree with me, and I think you shouldn’t be held accountable for the actions of the anti-ccers who have come into my and my friends’ inboxes over the last few years to tell us to “grow the fuck up” or “kill ourselves already”.

I think asks like that definitely constitute as “taking things too far”.

Still, it’s not your problem, nor would I be right to judge you off of them, because you’re not the one who sent them to me.

I can totally see why you’d think it’s rude to shove made up versions of people into their faces, and I totally agree! The fact of the matter is, you won’t find any cc content unless you go looking for it, and I guarantee neither Darren nor Chris are looking for it. Darren’s even admitted to reading Klaine Fic (I’m pretty sure it was LN absolute GOD TEIR but unconfirmed), and he had to actively search for it.

But in my experience, most crisscolfer shippers I know (even the ones who you say take it too far, which I’m gonna have to disagree with you on that but bygones ya know?) keep this shit far, far away from both Darren and Chris. If you wanted to find crisscolfer fanart/fanfiction, you would have to Google it, and maybe, maybe you’d stumble across a blog like mine???

But I promise you neither of them have ever seen a single post from my blog, nor have they looked at the majority of the fandoms’ pages on a dying social media platform. Nothing is being shoved in their face, if you ask me.

If it’s on the principle of it all, then to each their own but I believe that’s where the difference lies. I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong or evil about rpf/rps but you do you ig

But thank you for mentioning that they are real people with real lives, because that was sort of the entire point of my post. So are we. And it kind of hurts to see yourself dehumanized and villainized by others because you disagree with them.
