tagged by @fremulon EVEN LONGER ago to list 10 favorite characters from 10 different fandoms (which shall henceforth be defined as any media consumed to completion and enjoyed), so here is an extremely overdue non-exhaustive list IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:Â
Han Yeo-jin â Stranger/Secret ForestÂ
What can I say, it was love at first awful doodle
Shoji Yuko â UnnaturalÂ
To this day I still think about that legendary line with which she justified leaving work early and it still makes me cackle; I STRIVE to one day use it in real live, or at least witness itÂ
Calvin â Calvin and HobbesÂ
The original agent of chaos and imagination, and an inspiration to generations of mini arsonists-in-the-makingÂ
Chidi Anagonye â The Good PlaceÂ
As a fellow indecisive wreck of a person, there was some real resonance hereÂ
Maya Fey â Ace AttorneyÂ
NEVER ENOUGH MAYA SHE DESERVES ALL THE BEST THINGSÂ
(But also an honorary shoutout to all the extras in the live action movie, they are collectively another favorite character and I would die for every single one of them)Â
Toph Beifong â Avatar: the Last AirbenderÂ
Need I explain this beyond LEGENDARYÂ
Kageyama Shigeo/âMobâ â Mob Psycho 100Â
Everyone whoâs met him has flipped or wanted to flip their life around to become a better person and honestly sameÂ
Midna â The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessÂ
Someday the ending wonât wreck me but today is not that day
Kobuchizawa Shirase â A Place Farther Than the UniverseÂ
If I ever do end up pursuing expedition medicine and actually applying for a job at one of the Antarctic stations it will be pretty much single-handedly because of her Â
Gooigi â Luigiâs Mansion 3Â
SOMEONE HAS TO SAY IT! GOOIGI! RIGHTS!! STOP REQUIRING PLAYER ONE TO DISSOLVE ME!!! AUTONOMY NOW! AUTONOMY NOW!Â
Okay I still have to make lunch and pack my bags so I apologize if youâve already been tagged @pachelbelsheadcanon, @averybritishbumblebee, @yeswevegotavideo, @internetkatze and anyone else who wants to!! hi- Iâm not sure if youâre the right person to ask, but I wanted to know how to start a fanfic writing tumblr- I mean, Iâm just not sure how to start since Iâve never posted anything on my account- Iâm sorry if this is an inconvenience-
Donât worry about it. Iâm a little offended that you would think youâre coming to the wrong place đ.
Imma break it down for you.
BTW this post is long bc I wanted to cover all bases
â
First of all, if youâre on tumblr mobile, then thatâs fantastic and weâll start with that first. If youâre on desktop, I would like to suggest getting it on your phone because itâs more accessible and easier to manage than doing it on the computer. The only time I go to the computer is when Iâm going to post fics, but weâll get there.
I know you said youâre wondering how to start posting fics but I gotta give you some advice before that. Because there are just some things I cannot stand when it comes to some fanfic blogs, alright?
Be easy on your color scheme. I wouldnât put any bright colors because it could hurt someoneâs eyes, and sometimes it looks really bad. Going along with that, you should be careful what your second color is on your blog (letâs say that your base color was a maroon, and then youâd choose a color similar to that/darker than that. Itâll be hard to read the things in your bio, and itâs frustrating)
This is obvious, but make sure you have a profile and header picture, itâs more appealing rather than tumblrs default.
Turn ON asks and then proceed to do it for anonymous questions, because thatâs the only way you get requests. Some people do it off anon but thatâs not as common.
You can do this on desktop and a safari browser. Itâs not possible to do on mobile just yet. Open up safari > log in > little person icon in the top right > edit appearance. Scroll until you see âlet people as questionsâ turn that on. Turn on anon, and edit the box to whatever you want. Keep it short
Turn off âshare posts you likeâ and the following one below it. Itâs a risky game to play when it comes to what youâre looking at and liking.
No submission posts, normally people donât submit things anyway. Turn OFF âon blog advertisingâ and then thatâs it. It automatically saves so you can just leave to the next screen imma bout to tell you about
IF you go to my blog on desktop, youâll see that thereâs a theme. My font is different, I have a different set up than most blogs, etc.
If you wanna mess around with that, scroll to the top of page (you should still be on the same page from the anon instructions) and tap âedit themeâ
It might take a second to load, but youâll get there.
THIS SCREEN IS VERY IMPORTANT.
Besides the fact that it lets you edit your theme, this is how you put in a Masterlist, and all other links you might want in your bio.
You said you havenât written anything yet, so there isnât a need for a Masterlist just yet. But when you DO start posting, please come back to me and Iâll let you know how to put one in your bio, okay? Nice and shiny for your future followers.
If you wanna change your theme go to browse themes, change it from âall themesâ to âfree themesâ. If you like mine, itâs called âAccesibleâ. If you just want the font, get out of the theme screen and scroll the screen on the left. Turn ON âopen dyslexic
Remember, you can do all of this on desktop too, it doesnât have to be on safari
â
Now onto posting, I have some opinions that might offend my mutuals (oopsie)
I canât tell the difference, but PERSONALLY, I think posting fics on tumblr from my phone is gross. But thatâs also because Iâm writing 1000+ words normally and it gets difficult to post
If you want to post fics with more than 100 paragraphs, then you have to go to desktop or maybe safari tumblr (I donât post from safari tumblr so idk if it works) because tumblr says NO paragraphs after 100 on mobile. There is no restriction on computer
I write in Google Docs, because itâs neater and Iâve discovered some hate for Word after deleting some of the shit I wrote over and over. Plus itâs an app, and you can open it up on computer. Easy to use.
If you use Notes on your phone, or type directly onto a tumblr post, then thatâs fine but you donât know your word count and itâs a little difficult to navigate.
When it comes to formatting, I used to have it be really long. But Iâve narrowed it down to 3, sometimes 4 things.
Summary: this is where I put the request so the anon/person knows that itâs their request. (I copy n paste the entire request in the summary part, I donât answer asks (requests) anymore because itâs easier to answer them after I posted).
Warnings: my permanent is swearing, and then I add on (what type) violence, murder, suic*de, gore, etc DEPENDING ON THE REQUEST
Word count: and I do this because I write long imagines sometimes and some people donât want to sit through 5k words of boring shit
And the optionalâNote: I put this if I thank someone for their patience on the request, if I say happy holidays or some shit like that. I donât have notes on every post anymore because they just turn out being the same every time
Apart from that, give it a title (make it unique but not too long!) who itâs for and then copy and paste the fic in
Iâm using my own posts as an example right here, okay. But I have the summary and all of that bolder because itâs easier to see, and I want it to be different from the actual post. Most fanfic writers do this.
I also put 2 ââs between the authors note at the top and the fic to also make a difference there
Donât have the entire fic italicized, it takes away the special part of italicizing a word
Finally, itâs tagging.
I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT tag things that have nothing to do with the post. Itâs my biggest pet peeve and itâs because I canât comprehend why people tag (for example) Katrina Stuart when itâs a fic OR A RANDOM POST about someone else
Instead, letâs keep it simple.
đ¸ STOP đ¸
I forgot to mention this. But choose your username wisely. You can change it later on, but itâs a goddamn pain in the ass when you have 50+ fanfics you wrote and your Masterlist is nice and clean only to realize that you have to RELINK every post individually
Listen, I changed my username on my old blog, and it took me 8 hours ROUGHLY to relink and fix every individual Masterlist. I had to create new masterlists, with so many tabs open to fix it
Instead, change it before you start fics
If you wanna be a colby brock blog, I have a canon url (which means that itâs so fucking GOOD and Iâm angry that i realized it was open only a month ago rather than when I created this account) and itâs colbysbrocks (itâs a plural canon url). And I have colbysecrets too. If you donât like either of those, I have a couple of other ideas that I wrote down if you want them
đ¸ okay continue đ¸
This is how you should tag:
(Iâll give an example after this)
Your username first, the person itâs about, the fandom (if itâs not Colby brock, then something like marvel, etc). Then the persons name, imagine, fanfic, x reader, and oneshot. Then if it was requested
EXAMPLE ONE:
Azurebrock, Colby brock, Colby brock imagine, Colby brock fanfic, Colby brock x reader, Colby brock oneshot, requested
Simple, right? You can even use this method for Wattpad too.
EXAMPLE TWO:
(This is Star Wars, im using my own username again)
Kylorenlovesyou, Kylo ren, Ben solo, kylo ren imagine, kylo ren fanfic, kylo ren x reader, kylo ren oneshot, Ben solo imagine, Ben solo fanfic, Ben solo x reader, Ben solo oneshot, Star Wars
Notice that I tagged both of his names. I do this because it draws more people in, and more people will be attracted to it (however, in the Star Wars fandom thereâs a difference between Ben Solo and Kylo-Ren, so you would have to specify in the title Ex. Resistance (Ben Solo) or Struggle (Kylo-Ren). It would depend on which persona youâre using
This works for a couple of fandoms, like twilight and shit like that
EXAMPLE THREE:
(Final one, I just wanted to cover this base just in case)
If itâs a request for more than one person. Letâs say Colby Brock and Sam Golbach (like a Polyamorous relationship, if itâs just about a bunch of people, tag the people in it and donât put the imagine, fanfic, x reader, oneshot after any of them, it doesnât apply)
If itâs a poly relationship (or maybe more) then do everything you normally do for one person, and then just add on the second;
Azurebrock, Colby brock, Sam Golbach, Colby brock imagine, Sam Golbach imagine, etc
If youâre on desktop, I would suggest putting in a Read More (this goes BEFORE your fic but after the authors note, below the 2 ââs). The way you do that is press enter, and hover over the new break in the fic.
Off to the right youâll see a . . . Click that and then you have the read more. I would only suggest using this if thereâs more than 500 words, so that if the fic is super long, it doesnât take up the entire dash for the follower (it takes forever to scroll and itâs annoying
If youâre on mobile, it isnât possible. Just post and you can go back and edit later if you have a computer

Help You Forget Part 2!
Posting this a few days earlier than I intended for @whatmarisays âs birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR.
Tagging @serendiptious-esparza
1,802 words. I MESSED UP some of the formatting while editing this in docs, I will fix it later.
You were in your bed, you childhood bed, why? You couldnât figure it out until he walked into the room, and began yelling: âWhat did I tell you?â Of course, because everything you ever did was wrong. He continued to yell. You tried to speak but nothing came out. He hit you, across the face. You definitely had a black eye. You could feel your face swelling. You tried to beg him to stop, but no words, no sounds came from your mouth...
The sound of Rafaelâs alarm caused you to jump straight up, gasping for air. âHey hey itâs okay, go back to sleep. Iâm going to shower.â He leaned over to kiss you.
A dream. It was a dream. Or a nightmare. You use to have them as a kid, a lot, but not since about 2 years after he left, for good. You sighed as you laid back down and rubbed your hands across your face. You thought about joining him, but you must have thought about it for too long. By the time you got there, he was exiting the shower and wrapping a towel around his waist.
âNeed any help there, counsellor?â you asked. He turned around to face you.
"Y/N, mi amor,â he hummed as he leaned towards you and kissed you. You kissed him back, your hands running through his still wet hair. He led you back to the bed and quickly removed your shirt. He began alternating between biting, sucking, and kissing his way down your neck until he reached your chest. He began to tease your nipples.
âRafaelâŚâ you moaned. He looked up at you and smirked. He sat between your legs with his hands on your hips. Then your phone rang. You saw it was Nick, and went to reach for it. Rafael swatted your hand away as he tugged on the waistband of your sweats with his other hand. âRafi,â you whined.
âCariĂąo?â His voice was deep. Your phone stopped ringing, only to ring again immediately.
You reached your phone and said  âRafi what if something is wrong? Iâm sorry.â He sighed as you answered your phone.
You couldnât even say anything before you could hear your brother on the other end, âY/N, what the hell were you doing? And donât even say Barba.â
âThen Iâd be lying to you,â you said giggling as you sat up and kissed Rafaelâs ear to be a tease.
âGross, and this isnât funny, Y/N!â Rafael kissed your cheek as he got up to get dressed.
âNick whatâs wrong?â
âI have been trying to call you all night!â His voice sounded distraught. âI sorry, I put my phone on do not disturb, I wanted to sleep. What hap..,â
Nick cut you off as he explained. âItâs Dad. He hit his fiance, her nameâs Gabriella. He fractured her skull. And now sheâs saying it wasnât him,â Nick explained the events that happened the following night, but you were not paying attention. You just didnât understand why no one, besides your brother and yourself could see what an animal your dad was. You came out of it when Nick spoke again, âHe was arrested. They are going to question him soon. Just. Get down here, to the precinct. We really need to talk,â You felt tears in your eyes. You tried to speak, but words wouldnât come out. âY/N? Hello? Are you there?â
âYeah...yeah Nick Iâm here,â your voice was shaky, âIâll be down soon, bye.â
You didnât want to tell Rafael about your father. That was the one thing you wanted to keep from him. Everyone you had ever told, or found out, left you, like you were damaged goods. He walked back into your bedroom in your favorite suit that he kept at your apartment. You smiled at him. âYou just had to wear that suit today,â you said as you pulled at his tie and kissed him. He pulled away quickly.
âI would lay to stay and keep playing these games of yours, CariĂąo, but i have to go to work.â He kissed your forehead. âI love you.â He said, as he walked out the door.
You shouted back an I love you, as he shut the door. You sat down for about a half hour in silence. You texted Nick, something along the lines of, Not feeling well, Iâll try to come down later. You finally turned on the TV, for some background noise. You laid down and watched some awful morning show.
About an hour later, Nick responded to your text. They are brought Papi in for questioning. Olivia is trying to convince Barba to charge him. Come down here, when you have time, Please y/n.
You rolled your eyes, as you got up to finish your hair and makeup. You headed down to the precinct. Â Â
The whole way down to the 16th precinct, Rafaelâs mind was racing, between this case Olivia just couldnât talk about over the phone, and you. He wanted to call all day and make sure you were okay. Now here it was, the middle of the day. Instead, he sent you a quick I Love you text.
He shoved his phone in his pocket as he walked into the precinct. He met Olivia who led him to were Fin and Sonny were questioning your father. He was still denying he hit Gabriella, and that it was one of the other guests.
âIâve never hit a woman. Gabriella, she was confused what happened,â your father said. Â
Rafael rolled his eyes, âCrazy Cubans in wedding brawls, I hate this.â
âHeâs guilty,â Olivia told Rafael, âI know he is.â
âIs there something else I should know?â Rafael asked Olivia raising an eyebrow.
âYeah, there is,â she told him, as she shut the door. Olivia told Rafael about his abusive past, towards Nick, and your mother. Rafaelâs face was red with anger.
âDid he ever hit Y/N?â he asked.
âNickâs sister, Iâm not sure. She was here earlier, talking to Nick. Carisi talked to her, Iâll ask him what she said.â Olivia responded.
Rafael wanted to pull his phone out and call you, for the second time that day, but he knew this is what you were hiding from him, and he knew he couldnât risk pushing you by trying to get you to talk about it. He was unaware you were outside the door, talking to your brother.
You smiled as you saw Rafaelâs text as you got on the elevator. You didnât have time to respond from grinning at it when you stepped off the elevator and smiled at your brother. Nick motioned you towards his desk.
The two of you talked for awhile, about what Nick had previously told you over the phone before you asked, âSo what did Rafael say about the case?â You sat on the corner of your brotherâs desk.
âYour guess is as good as mine, theyâre still in there,â he said pointing to the door.
You jumped off the desk, âWait. Heâs here?â You were almost shouting at your brother, âThey havenât..â
âCalm down,â your brother said as he rolled his eyes.
âCalm down? My BOYFRIEND is in there, possibly trying to charge our father with assault, and you are telling me to calm down?â You were screaming at your brother, loud enough the entire block could probably hear you, âYou really think heâs not going to figure out he did it before Nick? You really think I want to have that talk with him?â Your back was to the door fling open, and Rafael and Olivia walked out.
âUh, Y/N, you might want to,â he pointed behind you.
You didnât get his hint, âWhat Nick? You want me to shout so loud the whole world can hear what he did?
Rafael spoke, âCariĂąo, whatâs wrong?â
You turned around, and smiled, âRafi,â you whispered.
Olivia looked between the two of you, confused.
Nick commented, âWhat Liv, did he forget to mention heâs banging my sister, Y/N?â
You glared at him, âNickâŚâ You face went red, with anger. âYou canât stop can you!â You started to go for your brother, as Rafael chased after you.
Rafael grabbed you, âIâm not charging two Amaroâs today. Letâs go.â He led you to the elevator.
You were silent until you stepped foot onto the elevator. âSo your charging him?â
âAssault,â he said, as he looked at you. âOlivia told meâŚ.this wasnât the first time he..â Rafael stopped talking and looked at your face, which was made up of watery eyes and red cheeks. âCariĂąo, Iâm so sorry. You couldâve told me he...â
You didnât want to hear him say it, so you interrupted him as you got on the elevator, âHe use to hit my mom, and Nick.â You put your head down, you werenât looking at him, but you could feel him looking at you. âAnd me. A lot. Everything I did was wrong. We are probably wrong. Everyone I tell leaves me, so just save me the hurt and go.â You felt a tear roll down your cheek. Rafael wiped it away with his thumb. You went to walk away as the elevator door opened. He grabbed your arm as he walked off after you.
âLook at me.â You looked into his Emerald eyes, possibly the most beautiful eyes you had ever scene in your life. He put his hands on your cheeks, to keep your eyes on him, âI love you. Y/N, I love you. This...it wonât change anything. We are not wrong. You are not wrong.â He leaned into kiss your forehead.
You put your hands over his, âRafi, promise me...promise me you wonât,â tears rolled down your cheek uncontrollably, and you felt your legs starting to shake. You finally blurted out your biggest fear, âDonât leave me. I Love you.â
He moved his hands from your face to your hips and pulled you as close as he could, âI promise, CariĂąo.â Rafael spoke as you were leaving the precinct, âI do have to disclose we have a relationship to the DA, and I might have to recuse myself.â
You nodded. âThen Iâll drive.â You pulled your car keys out of your pocket, knowing Rafael hated driving in the city. His car probably had dust on it, for sitting still for so long.
He smiled, âYou seem to be in a better mood very quickly, CariĂąo.â
You kissed his cheek as you walked up to the car, âI canât stay upset when I look at your handsome face. You make me happy, Rafi. Happier than I have ever been.â
He smiled and reached over to hold your hand as you started the car, âYou make me happy too, Y/N.â

Fictober Day 17: I'll Tell You But You're Not Gonna Like It
Uploading this from the browser on my phone so it may not look great. Also I believe this is the last oneshot I will be doing with Katiuscia and Spider, so you may rejoice if you were getting tired of them XD
EDIT: I fixed the formatting on my computer, should be good now!
---------
The funny thing about Spider was that he liked to make small talk.
Katiuscia didnât trust him for a minuteâshe may have been a kid, but she wasnât stupidâbut she figured the occasional meaningless chat couldnât do any harm. And it didnât. The Spider talked at length about how he built his computer (the technology was dated by at least a few centuries, but it did what he needed it to), his favorite websites and iTube videos or songs, the adventures he had after running away from the lab where he was experimented on, how he built webs and why he sometimes ate his silk, whether heâd rather have pasta for feet or feet for pasta, and whatever else Katiuscia could think of to ask him.
Yet, even if she wasnât stupid, there came a day when she made a slip-up in this plan.
âSo how do your needles work?â she asked one day after heâd fed her cheap energy bars for dinner. âSince youâre not, yâknow, a normal spider. Are they different?â
Spider, whoâd been slurping on a webbed bundle that Katiuscia suspected was once a stray cat, stopped slurping and eyed her. âYou mean the needles I use to liquify the insides of animals like you?â
Instantly she realized her mistake. âU-uhhhh...â Merda. Merda merda merda.
He set the bundle aside and slowly pattered up to her. His eyes were glowing red but his body hair was still flat and soft, which meant he was excited. âI mean, Iâll tell you...but youâre not gonna like it...â
Merda, what do I do? âWell, I er...I mean I...well I guess, I was...just, curious?â she stammered.
âHmm.â Spider looked away, contemplating for a second. Then he turned back to her and leaned in a little, looking ominous in the dim and flickering electric light of the abandoned train tunnel. Nervous, Katiuscia craned her neck back as far as the webbing would let her.
âYouâre right that my anatomy is a little different from ânormalâ spiders,â he began, clearly enjoying himself. âThey donât actually have needles. Itâs the fangs themselves that do the injection work, because they are in fact needle-sized. Mine, however, are not.â He clicked them together to illustrate his point. âThis means my fangs canât work the same way. So when I was created in the lab, I grew dozens of tinier fangs inside my bigger ones, which the scientists called my needles...â
Spider spread his fangs apart, and sure enough Katiuscia noticed rows of smaller needle-shaped fangs inside. She gulped. âAnd they act like a hundred little spiders biting someonâI mean, your preyâat once?â
âThatâs the idea. Obviously measly little insects do me no good. I can also control how much venom I inject into my prey. Tell me, how much venom do you think I inject in you every day as an anesthetic?âÂ
Katiusciaâs least favorite part of every morning. Suppressing a shudder, she ventured, âI dunno, a third?âÂ
âPoint zero five percent.âÂ
The blood drained from her face.Â
Spider chuckled. âWhen I first found you and needed to knock you unconscious, it was closer to seven or eight percent. If I wanted you to die a slow death, then Iâd do thirty percent. However, I prefer killing my prey instantly, so I usually do ninety or a hundred percent.â He leaned in and winked half of his eyes. âI remember all those numbers from the lab.âÂ
âWow.âÂ
âThatâs right, wow. So then, how do you think I liquefy your insides if my highest venom concentration just kills you?âÂ
Katiuscia was afraid to answer at this point, so she asked another question instead. âSo...you lied about that part?âÂ
âNo, I just didnât see the need to explain it all to you then, but now that youâre actually asking...â he clicked happily⌠âthe way I liquefy you is by vomiting all over your dead body.âÂ
Her blanched face turned a pale shade of green. âEuck, che schifo!âÂ
Spider shrugged. âYou call it gross, I call it lunch.â A patronizing tone crept into his voice. âBut Iâll stop there. Canât have you spewing human vomit all over my web, thatâs one thing Iâd rather not eat. But now you knowâthis is exactly what I will do to you, ifâŚâÂ
âIf...what?âÂ
âIf your ransom never comes.âÂ

So this is the Bullshit
I donât believe in call out posts. I think theyâre unnecessary and usually create a tidal wave of drama over a misunderstanding or an issue that might have been resolved with a simple click of âunfollowâ or blockâ.
This is one of those instances where it is necessary. Where the actions of one person are genuinely harmful and quite likely malicious and itâs actually impossible to know the extent of everything they have done.
Before I proceed, I want to make it clear that I do not condone sending this person hateful asks-or, indeed, any- asks about their behaviour. If you wish to unfollow or block them-or not- then that is your business. But I did not make this post to encourage spiteful behaviour.
I want to thank everyone who contributed to this post, whether it was sending me data, good vibes, proofing or just cheering up my cranky butt at varying points between now and April. Without further ado:-
This is a callout post for user Vallanoble, for actions spanning back to February of this year.
Before I start, I need to point out a couple of things, this is a long ass story. It might take at least one session to get through all of the receipts, of which there are many.
Also: tumblr took a shit on the formatting and none of the links work now. Everything is ugly but I have a back up Iâll post when whatever weird glitch this is fixes itself.
SEVERE TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR THIS POST
Secondly, for much of April, before this story crossed over to tumblr, Vallan went by a nickname that was an amalgamation their general location on my statcounter and the fact they had sent weird anons as opposed to their actual name. Now that the story is being publicly connected to a singular individual, Iâve edited out all references to physical locations from my data and switched out the actual place in the document with the word âdipshitâ. Yes, this took hours. Yes. I had a LOT of help. This is in the interest of protecting user privacy, however and not dishonesty.
First things first, Dipshit anon is an overly passionate Zen fan. They donât interact much, so tbh I never really noticed them ?? But for sure they were following me around the time of this postÂ
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/155205738770/1-am-i-the-only-person-who-feels-like-zen-is
(which seems to be the first they reblogged from me) and I recall they had been for quite some time at the time of this one
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/156327734615/i-love-how-you-always-take-survivors-opinions-into
which they later alluded to in a post of their own.
Itâs important to actually note several things happening at this point:-
Random overly enthusiastic Zen anon exhibit AÂ //Â http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/156228295970/you-know-theres-something-that-annoys-me-like
Not so rando enthusiastic Zen anon // http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/156308585305/i-have-a-question-how-did-you-interpret-zens-bad
Zen anon the third // http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/156206700610/what-are-your-thoughts-on-the-conflict-between-zen
Zenâs creepy childhood brought up with the beginnings of resentment towards a Jumin post made only shortly before
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/156210280495/honestly-im-so-glad-youre-talking-about-how
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/155500851985/what-do-you-think-to-the-thoery-that-jumin-is-a
Tbh Iâm a bit annoyed that tumblr removed their historical notes from posts so I canât actually reference stuff properly >:[, but January was a very busy month in terms of Zen anons (a pretty recent thing, so I donât think Dipshit had been following me for THAT long??) asking me about stuff while I posted Jumin fics and other Jumin meta, all while Dipshit anon liked the posts all of thirty seconds after I answered them, which basically led me to the conclusion theyâd probably been the one asking in the first place.
In January, they talked to me about fanfiction
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/156305150630/vallanoble-replied-to-your-post-wait-why-dont
This is important. At the very least please take note of the tone
In January, they were also posting this, complaining about Jumin blogs shitting on their favourite character.

By this point, I had them tagged on Statcounter, though I didnât know about these posts until February, when this debacle happened

Tl;dr, in a conversation about how Jumin fans felt uncomfortable about a particular phone call, an anon came out of the blue to change the thread of conversation to Zen. Why is that familiar?!?

Same behaviours as before. Both resenting discussion of Jumin where relevant and blaming me personally for gross fandom behaviours I was not guilty of. I had statcounter data too (no longer unfortunately, as I have the free version), but anyway, I blocked the user and went on my merry way.
Note:- In case it is not clear, I was able to work out the identity of Dipshit and block them based on their historical activity, previous asks they had passed onto me (which in turn led to their tag on stats), stat counter data at the time of the debacle (data I donât have anymore, but they remained tagged in April) and a cross reference of posts on their own blog.

Once again, crucial context for what comes later.
Prior to JuminV week, I received this ask
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/159180924940/zenxv-and-zenxjumin
This question came off the back of this ask to Jun, which was liked by Dipshit anon.
https://xeraeus.tumblr.com/post/159177453126/what-i-was-asking-a-question
There is currently no evidence to tie the ask itself to Dipshit however, in light of what happened later, I am including that detail nonetheless.
On the first day of JuminV, this was posted
https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159427686298/sees-zen-x-jumin-content-stop-that
 (screenshot here)
followed succinctly by this ask
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/159426686395/am-i-the-only-one-annoyed-about-the-popularity-of
I made the connection to Dipshit Anon after replying. Juminzen week, as far as we know, was not in the works until after JuminV week had already started. Therefore, itâs unlikely that first message is connected to it and it was sent for a different reason.
Note:- Here is Dipshit directly admitting to sending the JuminV ask Part one, part two
In any case, since I didnât want to start ship drama, I dismissed them?? I blocked them by IP around this point.
After I responded two more responses came, citing a disability when reading and claiming to ship JuminV over Juminzen tl;dr because it was not fetishisation. I deleted both of these messages and blocked by ip. I would not have deleted them if I had already made the later connection.
I posted to twitter at this point, joking that it was the first day of JuminV and already Iâd blocked the entirety of the University of Dipshit by IP.
I posted again a short while later after checking statcounter and making the connection.
Dipshit anonâs name or URL was not mentioned. The fact that they actually studied at the university was assumed, though not confirmed nor referenced by myself the tweets were later deleted and this is to the best of my recollection
Things went quiet, but then the mod of JuminZen week started liking my tweets about Dipshit anon (which in turn made me suspicious, as we did not know one another and did not talk until May). Strange asks started arriving to other bloggers in regards to JuminZen. My statcounter traffic started to spike with visits from the university of Dipshit.
In this period I made jokes about âDipshit anonâ, based on the fact that I had blocked them by ip more than once and they persisted in viewing my blog, leaving me to redirect their individual ip addresses to rick rolls, crash safari and more. In private I also complained about them, because their actions were making me uncomfortable.
They posted this on the 14th, which later made me suspicious

(screenshot here)
This is definitely about me, considering everything Iâve covered so far and this paragraph
were the same person who talked about listening to survivors expressing discomfort yet you shut me down just for not liking your fave. even when i phrased things nicely and came just to discuss things you immediately responded aggressively and accused me of trying to start drama. well im sorry that i saw you discussing similar topics and thought i could come and express my feelings to you but obviously you only care about specific instances of homophobia or problematic things that occur in the fandom if they have to do with bashing ur gross fave, jumin the ultimate misogynist han
The thing I didnât understand was why it was framed as if friends were laughing, but
#dragzenweek
#dragzenweek was established as a joke (and regardless of opinions on the matter, it was not actually tagged with Zenâs name), but Alyx reported receiving genuinely hateful comments from fans of Zen and people who hated Jumin over it. One of them was Dipshit anon, which I pointed out at the time on twitter. Alyx posted a screenshot of a post from their notifs with Dipshit Anonâs URL blanked out and I was able to identify it. I personally feel from the manner the screenshot was edited, it would not be possible to identify the user without prior knowledge. (Please donât take my word for this, however. Here is a screenshot)
I was in contact with other friends about Dipshit anonâs behaviour and the possibility they were connected to other current dramas (at that point, I was the only person to receive an anon in regards to JuminZen who knew where it came from) both in private and otherwise. I was concerned, but did not want to spread malicious, unwarranted gossip.
Itâs important to reiterate that in any given public conversation about Dipshit Anon, they were only ever referenced as such and not as any individual tumblr user. Dipshit-originally- referred to the general location of their Ip and Anon referred to the fact they had sent an anonymous message.
I spoke to Alyx about this at the time expressing concerns that Dipshit anon thought I was perhaps connected, or at the very least somehow involved with dragzen week.
On the 19th/20th April, I made a private document, detailing everything I currently knew, with links, screenshots etc (the first draft of this document). I did not want to keep repeating the story and if I was actually going to suspect this person of behaving badly, I needed proof. This document could not be liked, reblogged etc and and was only circulated privately among friends who had been in conversation about Dipshit thus far. It was a presentation of the facts as I knew them and intended to inform, leaving everyone to come to their own judgement on the matter.
Remember that at this point, beyond sending asks to Alyx and their priors with me, we did not know for sure Dipshit was connected to other dramas and without statcounter data, there was no way to actually prove it.
On the 19th of April, Alyx posted this screenshot to twitter.Â
At the time we joked about how this remark was actually unfair of both characters, as while itâs certainly true that Jumin can be quite mean to Zen, Zen is hardly kind to Jumin either. Neither the screenshot nor the subsequent thread were tagged JuminZen or Juzen. You would have had to have gone directly onto Alyxâs page to find it.
This coincides with the following twitter based traffic to my tumblr page.
Worth noting is that Alyxâs twitter is listed on their tumblr page, where they also received hateful messages about the week on the 20th of April,
which once again coincides with twitter based traffic from Dipshit Anon.Â
Considering Dipshit Anon complained on the 17th about me and my friends and then Alyx received a complaint about their hateful friends, I do not think itâs too much of a stretch to suggest a connection.
Also around the same point, off the back of sentiments from other people that someone was trying to perhaps stir bad feeling betweeen Juminzen and JuminV shippers, I commented that I knew of two potential problems in this regard, one of which was Dipshit anon who I knew for certain had sent me an ask that would have caused drama. I mentioned victim complex, by the way, as a comparison to the Juzen shippers sending asks badgering artists. I was rather suspicious that no matter how shady their behaviour, ultimately Dipshit anon would convince themselves they were doing the right thing and anyone who told them otherwise was being a bully or a homophobe, having seen such behaviour before- both from them and other fandom dramas.
Also worth noting is that my tweet was on my own personal twitter page, which is not listed anywhere and was written J*zen. It was not retweeted and no one commented on it. It would have been impossible to find without either going directly onto my page or searching Dipshit Anon.
Around the 20th, Vess confirms traffic from Dipshit anon coming through from Valâs blog. Vess continues to receive traffic from them over the next few days. This comes after a tweet expressing the belief that Dipshit anon is, in fact, more than one person. In response, I note that the messages I received (of which there were three) came from Dipshit anon, which I know for certain. I do not confirm or deny anyone elseâs, however.
That same day, Gillian also questions if Dipshit Anon is making the rounds. However, I personally do not comment on that thread.
On the 21st of April, Dipshit anon posted hate directly to the Jumin Han tag because âthey wanted Jumin stans to see itâ
https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159807410203/i-just-wanted-to-let-you-know-that-im-in-the-same
Screenshot is here
Note:- this gained a negative reaction on twitter as it broke established etiquette.
They later received an anon asking to stop sending messages.
https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159834049063/look-im-not-here-to-convince-you-that-jumin-has
Screenshot is here
Note: I donât know who sent this message. Up until this point, I had complained about them for stalking my blog, sending an ask that would have created a shit ton of drama and expressed my own concerns that they might have been doing the same to other people. None of us had mentioned sending asks about Jumin outside of that one post on the 19th, which related to askZen. This was not officially connected to Dipshit Anon at the time.
They later express righteous anger at the idea of âpopularâ Jumin and V stans blaming them for drama
https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159834850458/apparently-someone-is-going-around-sending-angry
Screenshot is here
Note:- a quick search made it quite apparent that no âpopularâ Jumin or V stans had referenced this blogger recently. However, this post comes shortly after dipshit anon was referenced as victim complex 101 on twitter (as dipshit anon). The connection was not made until later.
Dipshit anon claims to have been harassed, without mentioning names.Â
https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159836552898/leave-me-alone-i-honestly-dont-know-what-the
Could be true, considering the Jumin post, though is not tied to that and no asks are published. Feels victimized for content they post on their own blog. Also claims not to have sent anons and only have lurked in the Zen tag, which is, frankly, untrue.
Note the phrasing: Â honestly how narcissistic do u have to be to think that one person who you had a disagreement with once is going around over 2 months later harassing every person who like jumin??? like??? Â <- this is about me
Link to Post - https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159836552898/leave-me-alone-i-honestly-dont-know-what-the

Note:- This message also comes off the back of me saying on twitter (not 100% seriously) Â that Iâm almost tempted to do a call out. Also note that this mostly came from the fact that they accused us of stalking and bullying on tumblr based on out of context comments from twitter.
Dipshit anon claims that people are spreading misinformation.Â
https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159838725443/honestly-i-dont-like-people-who-blame-things-on
At this point the only information being passed around is a private document containing links to legit sources that cannot be reblogged to avoid this exact thing. References being mocked, which ⌠this blogger has not been referenced on tumblr. Has only been mocked for their efforts as Dipshit anon. Based on things they have actually done.
Screenshot is here
Dipshit anon refuses to give receipts on behaviour and references not wanting to start drama even though they spoke about boycotting an event only recently and tagged their hate that same day.

Dipshit anon tells another person that they have only made posts on their own blog irt Jumin, which is not true. They also say that their behaviour comes as a result of wanting their experiences as an abuse survivor to be considered. (Deleted! this private post was only referenced on twitter. In replies to conversations, not all of which mentioned Dipshit anon. Usernames were not mentioned. It was not posted on tumblr. Enough said. It was at this point that everyone started to suspect they were actually watching peopleâs twitters.

Demands information from the people supposedly sending them hate Deleted, I took a Screenshot
Posts this by way of a receipt (does not link actual users) Deleted, but I took a Screenshot
Note: You cannot just stumble across tweets !!! Also, the topic of conversation WAS Jumin. Dipshit got defensive after I refused to change the topic.
I would also speculate that this ask Alyx received on the 21st came from Dipshit anon, given these factors:
The timeline - Â having asked Alyx and knowing that ask arrived somewhere between 5am and 3pm cst on the 21st of April, which places it on the busiest period of Dipshit anonâs posts that day. Between the Jumin hate and many other of their corresponding posts
the knowledge that Dipshit anon was watching our twitters
the data that proves they were watching both Vessâ blog and mine for certain
They arrived at Vessâ blog via referral from Valâs. With this in mind and the facts above, itâs not unlikely that during this period they actually lurked everyoneâs blogs.
This ask arrived during a very difficult climate when Dipshit felt particularly angry and in their own words, was stressed and emotional.
Not only that, but they themselves were on the receipt of criticism for posting hate in tags on the 21st.
I did a search of their blog for mentions of Yoosung and Unknown and they have explicitly stated a dislike for the Yooran ship  (screenshot)
https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159453918143/mysticmessengerspambot-gah-im-tired-of
This is speculation, but considering the evidence, I believe it is fair.
On the 22nd April, Dipshit Anon sends a message to Alyx (part2)(part 3)
They send a message to Serena shortly afterwards
Here is how the conversation goes:
S: Â âIâm a bit confused about what it is you want me to tell you, honestly. I never thought that we were engaged in drama nor were we fighting, considering Iâve never spoken to you before.â
DA: Â âNo, I didnât think so either. But apparently you and some others had a post listing things Iâve done and I was really confused?? There was accusations of me sending people who liked Jumin mean asks which I didnât do? I just wanted to clear everything up and figure out where that was coming from.â
S: Â âI donât recall anyone saying that people were sending Jumin fans mean asks. Can you be more specific?â
DA: âUm, wasnât that the entire point of what was going on though? There were tweets saying that I was sending harassment to people who like Jumin?Someone sent me a message telling me to stop sending asks to people who like Jumin which I didnât do? And it seemed like it was from one of you guys. I could be wrong, though.â
S: Â âWell, I didnât send that message, and to my knowledge none of my friends have sent you anything.â
DA: âThat was the bulk of my frustration. I saw some tweets assuming that I was sending anon asks to random people about Jumin which I didnât do, and I was overwhelmed and upset at being told I was doing something that I didnât.â
DA: Â âOkay. Then what was all the hype about saying that I was harassing Jumin fans? And that there was a private post that apparently had a bunch of evidence that I did a bunch of things? I honestly was super confused on what everyone thought I did and thatâs why I was upset.â
S: âDo you want to link me to a specific tweet claiming that youâre harassing Jumin fans, because I still do not recall anyone saying that.â
S: Â Honestly, itâs really not my responsibility to entertain you, but Iâm a bit tired of this and I have exams to study for so Iâm going to anyway. First of all, my friends and I arenât a hive mind. I donât know what it is theyâre saying about you at all times, and just because they say something it doesnât mean that I personally agree with it.
Second of all, I was referencing this ask that you sent to Louise when I referred to sending asks trying to start shit:http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/159426686395/ ⌠Iâm not interested in debating whether or not that was actually your intention; it doesnât really matter to me because thatâs the effect it wouldâve had when it landed in Louiseâs inbox had she chosen to reply to you seriously. And I know that you were the one who sent that ask, because of this post that you made subsequently, so donât bother:https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/159700504123/wow-im-feeling-like-shit-i-want-to-die ⌠For some reason, you chose to pretend that her response was some sort of personal vendetta against you for disliking Jumin, even though her response has nothing to do with Juminâs character at all and simply stated that she doesnât want to partake in an argument thatâll cause friction with JuminZen fans. And then you did a whole lot of misconstruing by saying that sheâs belittling you for your justified anger or not taking your experience as a survivor seriously, which is a very serious and untrue accusation to be making of a person who is also a survivor. Hence, my annoyance with you.
Thirdly, I posted my incredulity at the fact weâre the same age, because of your assertion that adults in the fandom are bullying you despite being an adult yourself, and despite the fact you arenât being bullied. Getting blocked isnât being bullied, itâs being ignored by someone who has no requirement to engage with you anyway. Fourth, it annoys me that you said you havenât sent any asks about Jumin since months ago, when you just sent that JuminZen ask like two weeks ago, because thatâs lying. This entire time youâve remained anonymous in our discussions. Weâve literally been calling you âDipshit anonâ, and your url hasnât been publicly revealed anywhere. None of this information is available to anyone except in our group of friends, since the post containing these and other links is private, and weâve only been sending it through private messages to people we are friends with. The fact you decided to listen in on a conversation about things you really did and claim that having that conversation is bullying is your problem, not ours. Have a good night.
Screenshot of Dipshit Anon loading my blog one hour before I am referenced in this conversation
Before Dipshit Anonâs response, I learn that Vergil received a strange JuminZen ask and receive clarification that, while he did receive traffic from Dipshit (the location), the one in his askbox was Italian. Around this point we discuss potentially eliminating Dipshit from this particular inquiry, but also to keep an eye on them in case of future problems. I too received traffic from Italy recently.
Dipshit begins deleting posts off their blog around this point. (The final two on the list)
Vess confirms traffic from Dipshit anon

Some notes:-
In regards to point 8, this person is blocked from my blog for reasons I have already explored and it is manipulative, to say the least, to complain about my reaction to them when they had no business being in my inbox in the first place.
The phrasing of point 8 actually is very manipulative in general âoh well, she doesnât careâ. My emotional labor is not for their profit, nor consumption.
Speaking of manipulative, consider the point about age. Dipshit anon repeatedly refers to themselves as a child when they are nineteen, repeatedly complains about adult bloggers and grownups being condescending and in points 8 and 9 complains about an inherently present power dynamic that I should be aware of when speaking to younger bloggers, all while sending asks on anon. I cannot feasibly guess the age of anonymous asks.
I donât actually remember saying anything about Zen and Seven fans on my twitter or tumblr. I also cannot find anything on my twitter about this. So. Um. Receipt? Â
I believe that point 11 is true to an extent. I believe they probably found DragZen on the 17th and, from there, found Alyxâs tumblr. I also believe that from there they found Alyxâs twitter, which would give us something of a timeline so far. It certainly brings us to their angry post on the 17th, in any case.
Itâs true that I identified them as Dipshit anon, but only after concluding that their URL was blanked out satisfactorily and only because Dipshit anon was the name I had been using from the beginning to identify the person that sent me a questionable ask and continue to load my blog afterwards.
The next part in 15 is just. Where do I begin? Even Dipshit is not sure whose anons I identified as theirs. As a matter of fact, I only identified Alyxâs. When Vess got statcounter, we compared data in the interest of accuracy (as I later did with Vergil), but none of this happened on my public twitter.
When Dipshit refers to Gillian receiving asks, I believe they are talking about this, which I did not confirm
Point 15/16 makes me really uncomfortable, for reasons I will come to at the end.
Here is them viewing my blog around about this time
S: Â Okay, re: everything else now.
1. All right, if you didnât consider that ask as being about Jumin then Iâm fine with setting aside the idea that you lied about it. It was personally frustrating to me because I really donât care what asks you sent about Jumin months ago, I was annoyed by the response to Louiseâs way of handling the JuminZen asks from a couple of weeks ago. Itâs pretty clear by now that you probably didnât even have that JuminZen ask in mind the entire time all of this was happening, but thatâs what I was thinking of in terms of everything else I posted. I have my thoughts on how the situation couldâve been handled differently by both you and me, but at this point I donât think it matters anymore and in the interest of resolving things letâs call it a misunderstanding and move on. I already said I donât really want to debate whether or not that ask would actually have started drama so Iâm not going to.
2. I wasnât aware of the timing of your post was after the DragZenWeek incident and not after the ask you sent Louise, but upon re-reading it makes a lot more sense in that context and Iâm sorry for making assumptions. To ease your worries, Louise wasnât stalking your blog. She has an app called StatCounter that allows her to see where people are accessing her blog fromâthatâs how she put together who it was that had sent her other messages prior to the JuminZen ask, and thatâs how she was able to block your IP address. By the way, she also knows youâve been bypassing her IP block to visit her blog these last few days.
I can understand why you were stressed, honestly. I disagree with the way you do a lot of things, but Iâll readily admit that I personally made a lot of assumptions that I didnât have a real basis for making, and Iâm sorry. I stand by my statement that no one claimed you were going around and harassing Jumin fans with asks, though.
To explain my own point of view, most of what was annoying *me* was that you were conflating responses to you with disliking you for liking Jumin. I canât speak for anyone else, obviously, but I personally could not care less if you hate Jumin. Speaking for myself here, Iâve said multiple times that although Jumin is my favourite character, Iâm completely sympathetic with the reasons people would have for hating him, and Iâve also said that I would never engage in a debate over him with someone who says Jumin reminds them of past abuse because that isnât my place to speak. Most if not all of my friends have said the same or similar, and honestly, I donât want friends that donât have that attitude and when I dislike someone I make it pretty damn easy to tell. But you were accusing Louise of that, which I think is especially insensitive because Louise is also a survivor, and now youâre saying that you meant for all of that to apply to Alyx tooânot that you need to know this, but Alyx heavily criticizes Juminâs route for the exact reasons that you probably would. Again, itâs a very serious thing to accuse people of being abuse apologists, especially when you donât know the situation.
I canât speak for anyone else, but Iâm sincerely sorry that you were hurt by my words yesterday, especially because some of the claims I was making were unfounded. Gossip is something I generally try to avoid, and I think this entire situation was a good reminder as to why I do that. I still donât think this falls under the definition of bullying, but I do empathize with your perspective and Iâm sorry for my involvement.
Iâll go back and delete any posts about this that were made by me. Here are my recommendations for you:
1. I donât know if you have the extension XKit, but it allows you to blacklist certain words so that posts containing them donât show up when youâre browsing tumblr, and it allows you to block posts that you dislike/donât want to see. Itâs a good tool to help you stay safe while navigating the site, and I think you should probably put Juminâs name into it since youâve mentioned that you find him severely upsetting.
2. Use the âantiâ tags when you want to discuss character hate/critique, or donât tag at all. Itâs totally within your rights to critique a character, and using the anti tag means that anyone who chooses to interact with your post is consenting to do so knowing what theyâll be getting into. When you tag a post, youâre basically giving people permission to engage if they want to, so if you want to have a critical discussion about a character with like-minded people or people who disagree but are interested in having a discussion, thatâs your way to do it. If you only want to discuss with like-minded individuals, you can throw on an â#Iâm not interested in debating thisâ tag so people who disagree know to stay away. Thereâs a reason none of the DragZenWeek posts were tagged with Zenâs name and this is that reason.
3. This goes for both of us, but if youâre seeing something happening out of context, donât assume that you know what the context is. You didnât know what it was I was talking about when I discussed asks you sent, I didnât know what you were talking about when you made that post (and I also assumed it was you sending the other asks, double bad on me). I donât think Iâve anything more to say on this subject. If you do, feel free. Thank you for taking the time to contact me in spite of your social anxietyâI understand that that was hard to do and I appreciate it.
Dipshit Anon:
Thank you for your reply. I appreciate you clearing things up. I usually tag my posts with anti-Jumin, but at that time I was still emotional and defensive about things I previously mentioned, so I thought that tagging it would send a one time message to people that like Jumin to not harass survivors that feel uncomfortable with him about it. Thatâs all I wanted. It was a bad move on my part and Iâve gone and fixed it and Iâm sorry.
I forgot to clarify these things - I didnât think Alyx was being insensitive towards me being an abuse survivor - I made an error when constructing that sentence and it made it seem like I was including them in that statement. I just was upset because I was under the impression that they thought I was pathetic and attention seeking for my deleted post on DragZenWeek.
I canât remember what exactly happened that made me say that thing about Louise being insensitive to abuse survivors and not liking me because I didnât like Jumin, but that wasnât about the JuminZen ask I sent or the previous one for February. It was something to do with her statement about me being attention seeking and seeing some responses to other peopleâs asks who criticized Jumin or something. I honestly canât remember, and looking back at the post I donât know why I said that, and Iâm sorry.
I feel like a lot of this was due to misunderstandings by me and a little on the others sides and I reacted defensively and angrily to situations when I didnât know the entire story. That just led to more statements and miscommunication on both sides and it spiraled out of control. Nevertheless, I apologize wholeheartedly and I appreciate you giving me a polite and courteous reply. Iâve been dealing with some tough stuff in real life for the past few months, including a traumatic brain injury, thatâs clouded my judgement and made me more volatile and sensitive to criticism or what I misunderstand as negativity directed at me. I know that doesnât excuse anything, but I just wanted to clarify that Iâm not usually like this, and I usually keep to myself. Iâm digressing, but I sincerely do apologize. I appreciate your clarification and will definitely do the the things you recommended. If you could, it would be very much appreciated if you could pass along my apology sentiments to everyone else that was involved. You donât have to, and Iâm not expecting them to forgive or unblock me or anything, I just want them to know that I am sorry and Iâm usually a reasonable and nice person when not under extenuating circumstances.
Thank you again and I wish you the best.
Also - clarification about why I didnât have Juminâs name blacklisted - Iâm on mobile Tumblr a lot, because itâs just easier for me to use because of a lot of convoluted reasons related to my learning disabilities and mental illnesses. But I do have them blacklisted on my computer, and when Iâm on mobile if I see a particularly terrible hate post about Zen or a post that is praising Jumin but uses examples of Zen and why he comes up short in comparison, Iâll block that person. I usually donât really care and avoid that stuff, but I have encountered several blogs in particular (none of which belong to you or any of your friends) that express extreme animosity towards people who say Jumin makes them uncomfortable or reminds them of past abuse. Thatâs kind of where that ask response was coming from. I just wanted people not to bug others who donât like him. But it was done in the wrong way and Iâm sorry. Also, I was only checking Louiseâs blog because I was paranoid that she was going to post things about me and I wouldnât be able to see them. Iâm not going to do that anymore and Iâm sorry.
And those blogs I mentioned that attack abuse survivors make numerous posts saying stuff like âif you say jumin made you uncomfortable I donât like youâ or âpeople who are triggered by jumin are the worstâ and etc. Again, it wasnât you or any of your friends, but some of those people who do that were really insensitive. Iâm sorry for tagging the post though and getting y'all dragged into it.
Notes:-
There is a difference between EXPLAINING your actions where relevant and EXCUSING them. And excusing them is very much whatâs happening here, given this phrasing: Â Iâm usually a reasonable and nice person when not under extenuating circumstances.
Disability or stress or emotion is not an extenuating circumstance for accusations of abuse apologism and stalking, nor is it an extenuating circumstance for repeatedly insisting on engaging in conversation with someone who has blocked you. Itâs not an extenuating circumstance for flat out lying in some cases and manipulating the facts in others. Itâs not an extenuating circumstance for listening on a conversation you arenât included in and choosing to accuse the people having the conversation of bullying instead of asking for context.
Secondly, Dipshitâs comment here: Â I forgot to clarify these things - I didnât think Alyx was being insensitive towards me being an abuse survivor - I made an error when constructing that sentence and it made it seem like I was including them in that statement. I just was upset because I was under the impression that they thought I was pathetic and attention seeking for my deleted post on DragZenWeek.
Given the timeline we have so far, their post on the 17th, Alyxâs asks around that period and the traffic on my blog, I think itâs more accurate to suggest that they WERE including them and are backtracking.
Also in regards to this: Â I canât remember what exactly happened that made me say that thing about Louise being insensitive to abuse survivors and not liking me because I didnât like Jumin, but that wasnât about the JuminZen ask I sent or the previous one for February. It was something to do with her statement about me being attention seeking and seeing some responses to other peopleâs asks who criticized Jumin or something. I honestly canât remember, and looking back at the post I donât know why I said that, and Iâm sorry.
Once again, given our timeline, the fact that if I called them attention seeking at all it wasnât until after the 19th in replies to other people and Alyx and I chatted about Jumin on twitter on the 19th, I feel itâs fair to conclude that this could be a legitimate memory blank, but itâs more likely to be backtracking.
Itâs also very clearly backtracking irt: Â but that wasnât about the JuminZen ask I sent or the previous one for February, when both are explicitly referenced in the post itself.
I usually donât really care and avoid that stuff, but I have encountered several blogs in particular (none of which belong to you or any of your friends) that express extreme animosity towards people who say Jumin makes them uncomfortable or reminds them of past abuse.
This is the second (?) time theyâve angrily drawn other people into a conversation about unrelated topics and they have made posts about boycotting events, they tagged their hate only recently etc. I think it is fair to conclude from all evidence so far that they do care and they donât avoid that stuff.
Iâm on mobile Tumblr a lot, because itâs just easier for me to use because of a lot of convoluted reasons related to my learning disabilities and mental illnesses
I went back to count and Dipshit anon mentions their illnesses, injuries and more on seven separate occasions and always in the context of gaining pity, thereby shifting the power dynamics of the conversation.
Dipshit Anon remains blocked as of April 2017
As of 22nd of April 2017, they continue to load pages of my blog, despite their own statement that they would not:
Also, I was only checking Louiseâs blog because I was paranoid that she was going to post things about me and I wouldnât be able to see them. Iâm not going to do that anymore and Iâm sorry.
Also worth noting is that this traffic came through a t.co reference, which is the shortened url format from twitter.
In response to this, I made my tweets private again and removed the link to my blog from my twitter bio.
As of May 8th 2017, Â they continue to load pages of my blog.
I believe this occurred because of a reblog of this post.
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/160437244740/your-recent-reblog-made-me-realise-how-mistreated
As of the 10th of May, I receive traffic on a singular VxMC-centric fic from Dipshit (the location). This traffic recurs over several days right up until the 14th.
I do not usually receive traffic from Dipshit the location with this amount of frequency. I also knew that Dipshit the person had been browsing my blog. This put them on my radar.
On May 15th 2017, I learned of this ask on Voidâs blogÂ
http://vo-dcc.tumblr.com/post/160686201606/i-saw-you-were-one-of-the-artists-for-the-zen
(screenshot).
At the time, I had my suspicions that Dipshit might be involved and a brief check on their posts that day reveals that Dipshit did intend to submit to the fanzine.

https://vallanoble.tumblr.com/post/160685696123/zen-fanzine-project
At approximately 9am that morning, I receive traffic from them on statcounter.
The interesting thing about this is that at first I was not entirely sure why this traffic happened. I do not reference anything about this incident on my blog until approximately midday, when I reblog Voidâs answer to a second ask.Â
http://vo-dcc.tumblr.com/post/160688531186/the-creator-of-the-zen-fanzine-did-clarify-that
(Screenshot) (Here is the time stamp of when I actually reblogged it)
From 8.30am onwards, Void and I were talking privately about the situation, at which point (a little before this conversation)Â
Void referenced typing out a long post, which likely became the one they later posted. (Having chatted to Void, they later confirmed that it was in fact, already posted by the time of that screen.) This creates something of a potential timeline of Dipshit seeing the post shortly after it was posted and following through to my blog shortly afterwards. (Note: I believe I was not the only one to receive this treatment, but Iâll get to that later)
In any case. I asked Void to check if they were blocked by Dipshit and it later transpired that they were.Â
I encouraged Void to get Statcounter, we compared notes and here is a full compilation of all trafficÂ
 from Â
Dipshit received within the first day of installation. (Pls note that the date is different because of time zones. I live in Britain and for me these times are in the evening of the 15th. US people would be even further back in the day)
Here is a screen of Dipshit later admitting to sending both asks covered so far to Void
Note that I said I was not the only person whose blog potentially received attention from Dipshit as a result of Voidâs posts. I believe that Dipshit actually went through the blogs of several people who either commented or expressed support for Void over the course of those few hours spanning from when they first received an ask to the 9am response.
This would not only fall in line with current evidence at hand, but also their actions in April.

When reviewing statcounter data, itâs clear that Dipshit reviews the #notes of posts and flits from one blog to another.
While this was happening, I was in conversation with user mariamagica, having seen them comment on Voidâs post that they knew who was sending the anons. Considering that this was the same person who had liked my tweet about Dipshit Anon way back in April, I was curious to know what they knew and if we had any shared experiences.
It transpired that Dipshit was so well known to them and had caused them so much bother that they were able to reference them by name within a matter of seconds. They sent me this screenshot sent to the askbox of the Juminzen week blog.
Mariamagica had them blocked, but I encouraged them to get statcounter and here is their Dipshit traffic from the 15th.
A short time after this, Vess and Jun confirm that Dipshit followed them that same day.
Dipshit continues to lurk my blog.
Having gone over the events of the day, I made a post at 18:46 my time. This is a soft warning and a pre-emptive call out. Up until this point I had not said anything about Dipshit anon publicly on my tumblr, but I was running increasingly low on patience. I blocked them in February and kept the details to myself at the time, but they continued. In April, we resolved it peacefully but they continued. At this point they were on strike three.
In my post, I listed three examples of asks from Dipshit.Â
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/160701054230/attn-mysme-fandom
These were all examples I could confidently attribute to Dipshit and as it gained so many reblogs, I gainedÂ
 a
  lot of traffic Â
 from DipshitÂ
in that period.
This traffic extends to my personal blog
I received an askÂ
http://fromthedeskofelizabeththird.tumblr.com/post/160703102265/hi-im-not-looking-to-start-drama-and-am-here-on
(screenshot, including timestamp of receipt)
-Dipshit on my blog in that exact same time frame? Check
-Not my ask but trying to pull the high ground with me about it anyway? Check
-âPlease consider the abuse victims!!1âł To a survivor? Check.
-Sending a really questionable anon in general? Check.
After my response saying that if I received any more messages I would reply with their URL, Serena got a message from Dipshit, complaining that I should apologise to their friendÂ
for blaming them for things Dipshit had done.
This earns the biggest of sighs and rolliest of eyes from me and there are hundreds of things I could say about it, such as the sheer unlikeliness of a random mysme blogger I have never heard of before (and incidentally never blocked) showing up to send me an ask with the precise same objections as Dipshit while Dipshit is on my blog, all while having no involvement with what Dipshit is doing. Even Dipshit acknowledged they were friends and went so far as to link their Zen centric blog.
They later post the following screens to their blog, which confirm that they sent theseÂ
asks to Stars and encouraged another person to send more: 1
,2
,3
,4
Also. This is what a receipt for blocking looks like.
However, if a chat is whatâs going these days, hereâs a chat
between the mods of JuminZen weekÂ
discussing whether or not to blockÂ
Dipshit, drafting a response and discovering they were already blocked,Â
as forwarded to me by mariamagica <3
Iâm especially interested by the use of the word âdemoniseâ. Demonise only makes sense in terms of me addressing Dipshit and publishing their URL, neither of which have anything to do with their friendâŚwho up until that message was anonymous in this conversation.
User setthestarxonfire also receives two
https://setthestarsxnfire.tumblr.com/post/160705202992/hi-there-i-just-wanted-to-check-aside-from-any

asks about this in much the same vein with identical phrasing. (screenshot one) (screenshot two)
You may recall I referenced user capitolscum. That is the personal of mmscum, who I was also in touch with at this time. Through the reblogs of my Attn:-Mysme fandom post, I became aware that they too had received strange anons.
As it happened, Scum had received three anonymous asks. One
, Two
and Three

Which corresponded with this review on AO3 (Please zoom)
This coincides with this askÂ
and this response from Scum (part one and two)
It also prompted this chat (part one)(part two)
Iâm including this chat for the sole reason that this is how Dipshit described it post call out
Itâs unclear what exact fic Dipshit is referring to, though Scum believes the comment theyâre referring to is this one, on a fic exploring Zenâs recovery as a survivor of a traumatic incident prior to the first chapter.
Thereâs also this postÂ
https://mmscum.tumblr.com/post/160144676634/i-love-my-followers-but-this-is-the-first-time
addressing negativity in fandom (screenshot here),
to which Dipshit anon responded twice (one, two)Â
(links)
http://mmscum.tumblr.com/tagged/vallanoble
Iâm including this for the sheer ridiculousness of the fact that it happened two weeks ago and shows them discouraging their own behaviour.
Scum, post callout, received this review on the same fic
Considering both the linguistical patterns and the complaints both matched Dipshit, we did a bit of investigating and if this is a coincidence itâs a very unfortunate one. Â
And now we arrive at the 16th of May.
Void gets notifications from Dipshit
and their reactionÂ
speaks for itself.
Remember this?
Void is 17. Younger than Dipshit and a minor.
I haveÂ
multiple visitsÂ
fromÂ
Dipshit that day (Is it worth me even saying it at this point? Whatever)
Here is Mariamagicaâs traffic for that day (All of the ones from the university are Dipshit)
17th of May, today!
DipshitÂ
is activeÂ
on my blog and VoidâsÂ
(The one blacked out the most.)
Scum passes on their statcounter data to me and Dipshit is not only a visitorÂ
but recently went through the notes of this post
http://mmscum.tumblr.com/post/160736788924/mmscum-mmscum-i-love-my-followers-but-this-is
which somewhat ironically was partially inspired by their actions.
Considering this fact and the fact that they visit my blog in the wake of this reblog

(statcounter)
their subsequent blog post becomes slightly more interesting.

Itâs past midnight now and Iâm about to go to bed. I have only one thing to say on this matter, however.
The adage that the internet is not your safe space is not a suggestion that it should not be safe. It means that the internet is not the safe place of any individual person. It belongs to all of us and there is going to be opinions, ships, characters etc you do not like personally. But it is NO ONEâs job to keep you safe but your own. Itâs nobody elseâs responsibility to write characters as you see them. Itâs no one elseâs job to keep the content you donât like off your radar or create the content that you do. Thereâs no justification for treating real people badly over fictional things.
A few other notes post call out:-
Dipshit remains blocked. Here is a screenshot of a message they sent to me the day after I posted the call out (part one)
(part two)
from a new blog designed to collect receipts (this is not hyperbole: screen shot one
and two
). This blog has since been deleted. Â
I am not a shipper of Juzen and so bad behaviour within the community is not something I would know of immediately or in much depth, however:
Dipshit considers an anti Juzen week to educate the homophobic women who ship it.
This is an interesting one, as it coincides with the appearance of the blog juzenisgross, which specifically posted excerpts from Why does he do that (a book about abusive relationships and domestic violence) in the juzen tags on the first day of juzen week.
This is a loose thread on its own. However. This is the time stamp of the first post on the blog.
This is Dipshit on my blog.
Once again, possibly coincidence, but incredibly unfortunate if so.
Here is Dipshit continuing to send lengthy messages to content creators 1,

Coffee shop AU- Percabeth
I based this off of an AU prompt I saw a LONG time ago. I honestly forgot I had written this it had been about two years but I decided to finish it :) I have no doubt that there are probably lots of mistakes and the format probably got a leetle messed up while I tried to figure out how to blog THis but please enjoy :) also prompt creds to whoever made the prompt along the lines of âmy computer battery is low and I need to finish my assignment and ur the only seat near an outlet can I plz sit w u?â OK Iâm done rambling now
â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘
Annabeth had been staring at the boy for seven minutes, and her computer was now at nine percent. Itâs not that big of a deal, she thought for the fifth time. Just go up and ask if you can use the outlet. It was just her luck that the hot guy with messy black hair and one hell of a jaw line was sitting at the table blocking the last unoccupied outlet, and Annabethâs computer was dying and her essay was due tomorrow. It shouldnât be this hard, and itâs not like she would usually have this much trouble, but the guy was really cute and he was probably playing candy crush on his phone and what if she interrupts him before his high score is achieved? She would steal his outlet and his high score. Not that she knew for a fact that he was playing candy crush. Maybe he was writing a really important email to his teacher or texting his girlfriend. Annabeth cringed. Girlfriend. He probably did have a girlfriend. A whole bunch of girls probably swooned all over him at school. She knew guys like him, from what she was observing. He was probably an athlete. No, definitely an athlete, judging by his broad shoulders and muscular arms. She shouldnât even bother approaching him, then, if he was anything like she assumed he was. She could imagine his pink lips curving into a frown as he ignored her and went back to tapping on his phone. Annabeth shook the possibility out of her head. She was over thinking this whole thing. Her computer was at seven percent now, and she still had two more paragraphs to proof read for the third time, even though her work was already typed and edited. She wouldnât let her essay be less than perfect all because of cute guy blocking the outlet. Annabeth made up her mind and shot out of her chair, scooping up her laptop, computer charger, and coffee before marching over to the boyâs table. She plopped her things down across from him, and jammed her plug into the outlet, finally calm now that her essay was safe. The boy looked up with a small smile, and Annabeth was slightly taken aback. âWell hello there.â The way he said it wasnât flirtatious at all. He seemed amused, as if he had watched her fight herself before stomping her way over. Annabeth winced when she realized that he probably had noticed her glaring at the outlet from her own table. It took Annabeth a moment to recover after she locked eyes with him. She had never seen such bright green eyes before. She replied with a nod and a smile that probably looked more like a grimace, because that was all she could manage. Annabeth stared at her computer blankly for a moment, before looking back up at him. âMy computer was dying. You were the only table with a power outlet next to you,â she said, feeling stupid after her awkward explanation. The boy raised an eyebrow. âI donât mind.â He chuckled, and held out his hand. âIâm Percy,â he told her. Annabeth tilted her head when she heard the name, deciding she liked it. âAnnabeth.â She shot him one last half-smile, unsure if she should continue the conversation. If she wanted to finish her essay, she needed to get to work. Forcing herself to tear her eyes away from his mesmerizing green ones, her own eyes began scanning the screen, searching for mistakes and quickly running her fingers over the keyboard letters to fix any. âWhatâre you working on?â Annabeth nearly fell out of her chair when she felt Percyâs breath tickle her neck. Her head whipped around to find him crouching next to her, looking over her shoulder at her essay. He was so close to her that his head was almost resting on her shoulder, and she caught a whiff of his scent. He smelled like chlorine and spearmint gum. She swallowed. âUm, essay. For school.â She inwardly rolled her eyes at her lame answer. She expected Percy to be satisfied with her answer and sit down again. What did her essay matter to him? Instead he leaned in closer, and Annabeth held her breath. No stranger this hot had ever been this close to her before. âWhatâs it about?â Percy asked. âWhy do you need to know?â She shot back instinctively. She didnât mean for the response to sound so rude, she was honestly just curious. Percy didnât seem bothered by it, though. He just shrugged. âWondering if itâs anything worth reading.â He smiled. Annabeth frowned. âNo,â she blurted. Percyâs smile shrunk slightly, and he raised an eyebrow and held his hands up in surrender. She shook her head and started over. âNo, I mean, itâs not.â she swallowed, âworth reading, I mean. You wouldnât want to read this.â She laughed humorlessly, gripping her cup of coffee in her hand tightly. âIt isnât anything good. Just school work.â Percy frowned, and suddenly gripped his chair and dragged it around so that he was seated next to Annabeth. She sucked in a breath of air, her shoulders tensing. What was with this guy? Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â âNah, I donât believe that.â He pulled her computer closer to him, and Annabeth restrained herself from stopping him, and instead wrapped her other hand around her silver A necklace that her mother had given her when she was in sixth grade. She stared down at her now cold coffee, anxiously waiting as Percyâs eyes scanned her paper. Honestly, under normal circumstances she hated people reading her work, but something about Percy made her curious to hear his opinion. She hated that. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Percy hummed as he read something, and Annabethâs head snapped up.
âWhat?â she asked, overeager to hear his thoughts. He tilted his head and looked at her. âYou didnât write about your mom?â Annabethâs heart stuttered for a moment. âExcuse me?â she breathed. Why would he ask about her mom? Percy was frowning. âNo, itâs just,â he shook his head and squinted like he was doing a hard math problem. âThe prompt was asking you to write about someone that inspires you, and you wrote about,â Percy raised his eyebrows. âYour teacher?â His tone wasnât judgmental, but one of disbelief. He glanced at her, hiding a smile. âKiss ass, much?â Annabeth narrowed her eyes. âFirst of all, Iâll have you know that my teacher is amazing, okay? Heâs taught me a lot.â Percy smirked. âHe taught you a lot academically, or,â he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. âIn other ways?â It took Annabeth a moment to decipher his sentence, but when she did, she instinctively shoved the boy away from her, astounded. He let out a loud laugh as Annabeth made a noise of disgust. âSo now I know you have the immature mind of an middle school student,â she huffed. Percy was still laughing, and Annabeth glared. âThat was gross and uncalled for,â she scolded him. âAnd not even funny. Get some better material,â Annabeth added. Percy held his hands above his head in surrender, but his playful smirk never vanished. âOkay, okay. Iâm sorry. Bad joke--my nerves got the best of me.â He turned his attention back to Annabethâs computer, while she made the effort to brush off the last part of his sentence. âTell me more about your teacher,â He said, and Annabeth shot him an incredulous look, raising her eyebrows in an accusatory fashion. Percy raised his hands even higher. âI promise my middle school mind wonât make anymore inappropriate jokes,â he told her seriously. Annabeth eyed Percy for a moment, waiting for him to break. He held her eye contact, though, and seemed genuinely interested. So she launched into her history about Mr. Brunner. He was practically the father she never had. Well, she had a father. Just not a particularly good one. She explained how his lessons were more than just lectures; they were meaningful talks about life and the world around them. Mr. Brunner was just about the most inspiring person she knew, and that was more than what she could say about her own family. Annabeth paused her speech and took a sip of her cold coffee, which was more of an excuse to stop rambling rather than her actually enjoying its taste. Percy seemed to be letting her words sink in, and Annabeth laughed at the expression on his face. âStill trying to figure out how someone could actually admire a teacher?â she teased. Percy shook his head. âNo, not at all. And I get that. I mean he sounds super cool and all. I was just surprised. Like, for me, my mom is the most inspiring person I know.â Annabeth felt her chest tighten, and a pang of a nameless emotion jabbed at her. Immediately she felt guilty for her reaction. So what, Percy had a mom he loved and admired? Why should she feel bitter towards him for that? He was a total stranger, but Annabeth already longed to have something he had. Percy seemed to have picked up on her expression, because his face displayed the same guilt Annabeth felt. He placed her laptop back in front of her. âBut thatâs just me. Family means something different to everyone.â Annabeth wanted to laugh at his use of the word âfamilyâ. Family could never fit her idea of the people she lived with. She exhaled, wanting to release every emotion Percy had dug up inside of her. Shaking her head, she said, âIâm basically done writing it anyway. Just editing.â For the third time. She stared at her computer screen with a new hatred, the formerly passionate essay now tainted with reminders of people she resented. People she would never write a praising sentence about even if her college acceptance letters depended on. Percy jumped to change the subject. âSo why are you here on a Tuesday? Saturdayâs are usually when youâre here?â She stared at him for a moment, registering his comment. Percy seems to be doing the same thing, because his tan complexion turns slightly pinker, and he starts to fidget with his hands. âNot thatâI donât likeâŚknow your schedule, Iâm not a stalker I swear to god, I just mean this one Saturdayâwell, actually more than once, like itâs actually been three Saturdays that youâve been here. Not like consecutively, actually the first time I saw you here was five weekends ago. Not that I count. I mean I do? But Iâm not creepy, really, I just got really bored, so I like made up this kind of game where I was like, hey, letâs see how many times that cute blonde comes here to do homework. I mean not that youâre cuteâwait no, youâre really cute. God. I just meanââ âPercy.â âUh, yeah?â She tried to hide the smile playing on her lips. âDo you want to meet here for coffee next Saturday?â Percyâs mouth fell slightly open. âUm, okay. I mean, totally,â He cleared his throat. âUh, yes. Yeah. Coffee,â he swallowed. âwould be good.â Annabeth closed her laptop and began collecting her things, looking down at her busywork to hide her blushing face. Unable to help it, she let out a little laugh when she thought about Percyâs adorable ramble. She stood, clutching her items close to her, glancing up at an already-up-right Percy and meeting his eyes. âSo Saturday?â she confirmed. Percy let out a short, low laugh, partially aimed at himself. âSaturday.â He beamed at her, shoving his hands in his pockets and swaying back and forth on his heels. He had recovered from his flustered rant, and was back to his charming ways. Annabeth nodded, and turned to exit the shop before she exploded with giddiness. Percy called out to her, and she turned around to meet his sparking eyes. âI expect that essay to get an A. Anything lower, and I might be too embarrassed to be seen on a date with you.â Annabeth ignored the way her stomach swirled at his use of the word âdateâ. She laughed, giving him a shrug that said, âweâll seeâ, and fell back on the door as it glided open for her. She turned and felt pep in her step as she walked home. She was feeling better about this essay.

im actually curious now... ive never played the game myself but ive seen ads floating around... why Are you so heated abt hogwarts mystery if u dont mind me asking?? --đ
OH BUD, YOU'RE GONNA REGRET ASKING
i've ranted before on here and i'm too lazy to read it over and make sure i don't repeat points so if you want to hear me say the same stuff a different way then this post is the main rant i did before (although some bits are out of date, like the stats rant; they fixed that some), basically i have a few big problems
gameplay is frustrating
energy is required to do almost all things story related, except like. the occasional duel.
energy recharges one point at a time, every four minutes. there is an energy maximum that you can increase at certain points during the story. as far as i can tell, everything is divided between things that are "1 hr", "3 hr", and "8 hr". this goes for classes, story moments, etc. you use the energy to tap highlighted shapes and fill a star meter and if you collect all the stars you need, you pass
the 1 hr stuff requires a full energy meter, no matter how big your meter is, as far as i can tell. my meter is 33 max energy. it takes me 2 hrs to fill this meter. THE ONE HOUR STUFF TAKES ME TWO HOURS TO COMPLETE. SO NATURALLY, I THINK THAT'S FUCKING BULLSHIT.
either way, waiting for the energy to recharge is fucking boring, especially when the story is progressing at a snail's pace (it's a mobile game, they're trying to make you pay money to complete the game faster, which i GET. i play idle games. i have the patience of a god. BUT AT LEAST FUCKING BAKERY STORY MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I'M ACCOMPLISHING SOMETHING)
duelling used to be worse (it uses a rock-paper-scissors mechanism and it used to be if you lost the rock paper scissors you just didn't get to go, so you could get stunlocked by the enemy and lose just because you suck at random chance rock paper scissors, which was fucking frustrating. now the rock paper scissors just decides who goes first, which i'll admit is better)
i guess they've been trying to fix it and make it less. shitty. so a while back they added "clubs" which is pretty much just another incentive to complete events. the highlights you tap on to fill up the meter to complete events are a different color sometimes and it gives bonus club exp that gets you rewards sometimes. clubs aren't terrible, like they're a bandaid fix but i mean they did at least add some measure of satisfaction to the experience. even if it's like. not enough.
they also added a "memory log" which i guess the idea was that it would be fun to revisit scenes from past years and quests and ~view your memories~ but. it doesn't work. like i try to play a memory and it loads for infinity. so. that's a useless feature
they also added "pages" which are just. pieces of paper you can bind into a notebook (used as a form of special currency in the game; you buy animals with it). apparently you can also use them to buy another chance at the timed quests but i hate timed quests very deeply so they're useless to me. not sure if that feature works but considering it's triggered using the memory log it's really anyone's guess. so that's pretty. awful.
(it's much harder to get genuinely heated when i'm taking the time to list the faults i take with the game one by one in an essay like format but this game sends me into rand mode 90% of the time i'm just apathetic to it right now, i'm being clinical)
it's ugly
this game is more glitch than graphic. i cannot count on my appendages how many glitches and weird moments and gross graphical choices there are. maybe this is just because it's a mobile game and it's a hardware limitation, i have no idea. that's probably the case. doesn't make me hate the game any less. doesn't make me hate how ugly it is any less.
now i don't record the quidditch matches so i don't have many examples of that but those cutscenes are glitchy as all fucking get out and that's one of the things you can use to grind stats, energy, etc. there's not a quidditch event going on so i can't get images of the tail end of my broom EXTENDING OFF INTO THE TREELINE FOR FIVE MILES OFFSCREEN in certain cutscenes so you'll have to take my word for that one, but it's a thing that happens in two separate cutscenes and it's fucking bananas that it's still a thing that exists and hasn't been FIXED or NOTICED do they not have quality assurance????????????
AND WHY DOES MY WRIST LOOK LIKE THAT. WHY. I WANT TO HOLD MY FROG. I LOVE MY FROG. BUT GOD, IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEBODY HAS TWISTED MY WRIST LIKE A WET TOWEL. WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE THAT???
I'M PRETTY SURE THE QUAFFLE IS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER MY ARM, WHY IS THIS WHAT'S HAPPENING. THIS CLIP PLAYS IN EVERY QUIDDITCH MATCH I EVER DO.
WAIT THERE'S NOT EVEN A FUCKING BROOM THERE I LITERALLY NEVER NOTICED THAT THERE'S NOT EVEN A BROOM. I WAS SO DISTRACTED BY THE QUAFFLE I DIDN'T NOTICE THERE'S NO FUCKING BROOM.
THEY'RE HANGING OFF THE BACK END OF THEIR BROOMS. THIS PLAYS EVERY MATCH. WHAT THE FUCK. (don't mind the image quality that's coming from me screenshotting a screen recording)
i don't feel like editing video clips right now just for a shitty rant post about a shitty app game so you'll have to take my word for it that there is more shit and it is egregious and barely a scene goes by where something ugly doesn't happen. half the time they're like "cast this spell!" and i cast it and there's supposed to be a sweet little animation of your character casting the spell but every time i do it, the game glitches and my character freezes, and then the spell has been cast. no animation. which is awful. half the time it loads in such a way that you think you blinked, but no. the screen just glitched everything into place. i don't know how to describe it honestly. it's awful.
it's boring
the story COULD be good, if it wasn't fed to you in tiny chunks over the course of several years. it's an okay plot, the usual harry potter chasing after some mystery (in this game it's the Cursed Vaults, usually there's a specific vault you're chasing in every year to hopefully find your brother and save hogwarts from the curse in the process). that's a pretty solid start
but there's so much FILLER. like there's a bit in year 3 where you go fucking around trying to make an extra sweet butterbeer for madame rosmerta while she's trying to track down your brother's journal in her back room (which is apparently as organized as my fuckin bedroom) and like. it takes so fucking long to actually progress with ANYTHING related to the story after that. like the entire plot STALLS while you try to make the butterbeer. LIKE IMAGINE IF A HARRY POTTER NOVEL STOPPED FOR A CHAPTER TO DESCRIBE HIM DOING SOMETHING SO FUCKING BORING. like at least in there you might get some character development or something, there's no shit like that in this fucking godawful shit of a game. hell there's barely character development, for you, for your friends, for the professors, fuckin NOTHING
they bloated their cast out. there's way too many characters and they waste their time on filler rather than actually developing the characters (for reference, i'm halfway through year 4). ben's personality is "cowardly gryffindor". rowan's personality is "books and socially awkward". tonks's personality is "prankster" (which, incidentally, i've heard is also the entire personality of another character you meet later). they aren't developed. i think they're blowing their character development budget on the "enemies to friends" arc they're trying to pull (i'm guessing that based on a christmas theme side quest and her uncharacteristically spilling her tragic backstory, that's a prediction)
year 1 was entirely wasted time. they could have done so much more with year 1, and they just. didn't. year 1 is disproportionately short and it only involves three friends (rowan, ben, and penny) plus your main enemy. it lays the base bones for your rivalry fairly well, all things considered, and starts the chase for the cursed vaults, and lays some bases for your friendships (wish they would have done more, since the characters are still a little one-note), and then they fucking drop the ball in later years. like i haven't seen ben since year 2, but there was SOMETHING going on between him and the vaults, what the fuck was that? why is no one acknowledging that?? there is a mystery that they're just fucking ignoring and i'm going to go fucking crazy
i went into greater detail on this in the other rant so i'm not going to do it again but it pisses me off. that and how useless the house is. and the fact that it presents you with choices like they'll do anything, but they don't really affect anything (at least not where i'm at in the game). like, i've been presented with the option to take different characters with me, but the friend i took with me didn't get any meaningful dialogue at all so what even would the difference be if i'd taken someone else?? what was the point?? it's stupid. it's dumb. i hate it. i hate it.
anyway there's 1600 words on it. the only reason i'm still playing it is because i plan on reworking the whole damn thing using the "each house gets a different storyline with a few constant story beats", but to do that i need to know the plot of the stupid fucking thing. so that's what i'm doing for the moment. it might take me a couple years to finish though. this game sends me spiraling into burnout at speeds only rivaled by public school, even when it's NOT forcing you to stop and wait eight straight hours.

Hollywood Post Production Software
If the Editor is working on that sequence in a locked Bin, a user with rights to the Project can open that Bin in Read-Only mode, then play back the Sequence in that Bin for the Producer. Media Composer also displays the current state of a locked Bin, and logs who may be responsible for the last set of changes saved to that Bin.
Whether you are a Production Company, Broadcaster or Distributor, we can tailor a script that is right for you, including shot-lists, timecodes, dialogue, voiceover, captions, credits and music cues as required. Finally - there's no excuse and no reason not to brainstorm a video and take it into the pre-production phase as soon as possible. If you haven't yet incorporated video marketing into your content marketing efforts, now's the best time to do so.
What is the final stage for picture editing in the post production workflow process?
Introduction (with title, release date, background information) Summary of the story. Analysis of the plot elements (rising action, climax) Creative elements (dialogues, characters, use of colors, camera techniques, mood, tone, symbols, costumes or anything that contributes or takes away from the overall plot)
Most individuals wishing to eventually be post producers start out as editing assistants. This is traditionally not an entry-level position someone can begin immediately after graduation from college, according to JobMonkey.com. In digital video, photography, television and film, post-production refers to the tasks that must be completed or executed after the filming or shooting ends.
THINGS: on Demystifying Video Codecs
The nomenclature may be misleading because the so-called "ancillary" media now generate most of the revenue. In the United States, home video revenues are about five times theatrical revenues. And because the interface, which includes hardware by Blackmagic Design, is designed to be open and flexible, you can use it with Avid and other creative tools too. Company 3âs data department handles any transcoding that might be required and then we archive everything.
Can 7zip open BIN files?
Click the "Tools" button on the menu, and then select the "Convert Image File Format" option. The "convert" dialogue will be pop-up. Press the âBrowseâ then choose a BIN/CUE file you wish to convert and choose the âISO files(*. iso)â option.
How do I convert a BIN file to ISO?
A BAT file is a DOS batch file used to execute commands with the Windows Command Prompt (cmd.exe). The danger: A BAT file contains a series of line commands that will run if it is opened, which makes it a good option for malicious programmers.
So, https://www.toodledo.com about these two projects, ShareDB, it was always my goal to be as good as ShareDB. And I was inspired a lot of the features they have, because they also have the notion that you can just manipulate your data and then everyone gets synced up. At the time when I created Yjs, they didn't support, for example, objects as key values or so.
Are movies getting longer?
Part (but not all) of the reason why top-grossing movies have a longer average run time is that there is a great number of extremely long outliers. 10% of top-grossing movies are longer than 140 minutes, compared with just 96% of all movies in cinemas.

Distributors routinely require filmmakers to warrant certain facts, and indemnify the distributor for any loses or legal fees incurred from a breach. Since the distributor was not present when the script was written, or the movie produced, the distributor doesn't know whether the filmmaker secured all the rights needed to exploit the film. The distributor wants to ensure that the filmmaker has a clean "chain of title" to his work. The distributor will also ask the filmmaker to warrant that the film doesn't violate any third party rights, including actions for copyright or trademark infringement, invasion of rights of privacy and publicity, and defamation.
By avoiding the overhead of converting from one type of network to another the overall system complexity and efficiency will be improved, resulting in faster projects and easier repair of problems when they arise. Avid Nexis
Editors and proofreaders from Edusson correct grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation mistakes, check the style, formatting, organization and other aspects of your work to boost its quality. Again, trusting others to do their jobs well is a major requirement of the Post-Production process. Post workflow is highly collaborative and involves many different people. And once post begins, the more freedom they each have to do what they do best, the better the film will come out.

That means there are a lot of people involved in producing the soundtrack, but itâs easier to make fixes or updates when your team has to deal with only one stem at a time. So for the assistant editor, liaising with the DIT and script supervisor to get their hands on that raw footage is the aim of the game. Similarly, a shareable shooting schedule, complete with version tracking, means everyone on set is up to date to the second a change is made, and in turn, the assistant editor can do their job like the pro he or she is. To borrow an analogy from the biology world, the assistant editor is like the digestive system of the human body. They ingest, prep, then export raw footage so itâs ready for the editor to work with.

Post-Production Workflow Tips from Cosmic Fling Producer
The major difference is that, when an editorial team is working together in the same office, they work off of a single set of shared files. The assistants need to be able to see what the editor has been working on, and vice versa. In a traditional workflow, if schedules are tight, the editor may have two separate in-person meetings, one with the director and another with the producer, who may give conflicting feedback. With asynchronous feedback, different reviewers can leave their comments at different times, which is often even more important than distributed feedback. Many teams use Frame.io for review and feedback even though the editors and reviewers are in the same building.

Parley: Does the Budget do enough in providing a stimulus to growth?

Parley: Does the Budget do enough in providing a stimulus to growth?
Presenting the Union Budget for 2020-21 to Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke of this being the Budget to boost common peopleâs incomes and enhance their purchasing power. In a discussion moderated by Suresh Seshadri, Ananth Narayan (Professor of Finance, S.P. Jain Institute for Management Research) and veteran banker V. Srinivasan look at whether the proposed changes in direct taxes and other measures are likely to help spur consumption and investment in the economy. Edited excerpts:
The Economic Survey stressed wealth creation as a central theme. Do the Budget proposals address this? If so, to what extent?
Ananth Narayan: What you have to look at from this particular Budget is what does it do by way of stimulus, which is, does it actually spur consumption or investment or get some money going through into the system? And second, does it lay a road map for any kind of deeper structural reforms? If both of them come together in the right ingredients, then wealth creation, which is indicated in the Economic Survey, should follow through.
The Budget gave a lot of good background. The three themes â aspirational India, economic development, caring society â nobody can have an argument with that. But there were severe constraints when it came to actually giving any kind of a stimulus. Frankly, Finance Minister Sitharaman had very, very little space to announce any further stimulus. Really, what you have to be thankful for is that she didnât cut down on spending. She continued with the stimulus, which has been ongoing for the last three, four Budgets now. In fact, government spending is what is holding up GDP growth.
I think what has been disappointing is the second part, on structural reforms. There are a lot of good things which have been spoken about on agriculture, irrigation, start-ups and so on. But some of the real elephants in the room [are]: the health of the financial services ecosystems â banks and NBFCs; and structural issues in sectors such as power, telecom, airline and shipping, real estate, construction. And third, most importantly, getting in foreign direct investment into manufacturing or grabbing some of the top supply chains coming out of China. On all these three structural fronts, personally, I was disappointed by the lack of direction in the Budget.
So, to answer your question, wealth creation: itâs not constricted, the government has not cut down on spending because of fiscal constraints, and there are deep fiscal constraints. On structural reforms, the Budget document itself was disappointing. The good news, of course, is that reforms donât have to happen only in the Budget, they can happen separately as well. But as things stand, I donât see enough being done for wealth creation or for the reigniting of the investment cycle.
Would the various direct tax changes give a boost to incomes and thereby lift consumption spending?
V. Srinivasan: India first needs to have a capex investment cycle going, create more jobs and thereby increase consumption. I think relying on consumption alone and putting money in the hands of people to consume and therefore stimulate the economy is something which can help in the short term, but in the long term can lead to some disastrous results. And clearly, the measures in the Budget have attempted to spur consumption. But I think if you look at the direct tax changes on the personal income tax side, I think it is [at] best status quo. I think more likely than not people would be in the same place where they are, not opting for the exemptions and staying with it at least as of now, till they get more clarity on how exactly these things work and for how long youâll have the option rather than try to sort of give up on the investments and not take exemptions and live with a lower tax. Thatâs the thing that you really need to wait and watch. But as of now, if you look anecdotally since thatâs the only social security and kitty which people build for their later years, I think itâs more likely that people will continue the exemptions. We need to wait and watch in terms of how the capex cycle comes through, which I think would possibly trigger a much more sustainable consumption cycle than trying to just put money in the hands of people and trying to stimulate the economy.
Could the new opt-in tax regime end up impacting savings? Household savings have after all been a significant contributor to another pillar of GDP, gross fixed capital formation.
Ananth Narayan: Not directly by the measures which have been announced. Sure, at the margins for certain tax slabs, it is possible that financial investments and savings, which were otherwise encouraged, might no longer make sense. But thatâs a very small number in my opinion. I donât think the changes incorporate a big change in the behaviour of savings per se. But the broader point you make is quite valid. The savings rate, the financial savings rate for households has been dropping quite sharply over the years. And this is a 10, 15 years kind of a trend, which is a sign of worry.
Frankly, when we worry about things like savings rate and growth and consumption, the starting point paradoxically has to be investment. India tends to earn more and save more when there is investment going through. We saw that, for instance, when the golden quadrilateral was being built 20 years ago; 30 years ago, when the markets were opened up and money came in, poured into various kinds of infrastructure investments.
We saw what happened 10 years ago, when we saw a lot of banking money go into infrastructure investments, which unfortunately didnât end well, we saw again growth and consumption that time. So, savings and investments or savings and overall income is structurally I think linked to investments, which is why the structural reforms required for spurring back an investment cycle is what we were all, at least I was, looking for very eagerly. There are lots of small things happening. And I have to acknowledge that, for instance, labour laws are being changed quietly. Likewise, you know, the corporate tax rate cut is very welcome for investments. But it seems a little too little at this point in time. To get back savings, to get back healthy macroeconomic variables, I think we need the investment climate coming back again, and a lot, lot needs to be done on the structural side before that happens.
The Finance Minister has said the government is keen not to splurge to end the slowdown and will instead focus on creating public assets. As an approach, how relevant is it to the current economic logjam?
V. Srinivasan: It comes back to what weâve been grappling with and what in the mediaâs and regulatorsâ talk is âtransmissionâ. And clearly, resources are limited. Understand that both the RBI and the government are trying to sort of do all that they can to spur investment, increase the flow of money. And âtransmissionâ, meaning irrespective of how much liquidity you put in, rates are not going lower, banks are not lending; the system is, to some extent, broken. So, whatever the Budget does or any sort of policy measure which is taken is hitting a wall till we sort out some of the systemic issues and try and clean the deck and then start from there. And I think thatâs something which was a hope, at least in terms of, whether in the Budget or outside it, trying to make sure that if someone has to take a hit, we need to take the hit.
If the government has to step in to provide some support, at least clean the deck and then confidence will be back and people can sort of look ahead with reasonable comfort that they are not going to be blindsided by something which they didnât expect. That phase continues and that irrespective of whether you splurge, donât splurge, if you do whatever youâre doing, I think itâs not helping.
So, I think the biggest thing is whether itâs real estate, whether itâs NBFCs, we need to clean the deck and make sure people are comfortable with the future. When youâre not comfortable with the future outlook, and itâs sort of filled with uncertainty, I think you hold back on anything you want to do, and thatâs the phase we are going through. The Budget, I was hoping, would trigger some animal spirits by bringing some certainty in terms of putting some of these things behind us. [That has] not happened. So, I think we will have to muddle along till we sort out some of the problems ourselves, or something happens which forces us to do that.
Does the Budget help keep the economy on track to reach the governmentâs $5 trillion goal?
Ananth Narayan: At the moment, I donât think we are on track to reaching this $5 trillion mark by 2024. The good news, though, is that there is no reason why we canât start to improve our growth dramatically. I think our potential remains pretty high. If we start to address some of the structural issues, I do think given our demographics, given the resources that we have, itâs quite within our reach to bring in foreign direct investment, as well as to have our own investment cycle restarted, so as to get us to higher rates of growth. But for that, we have to make a fundamental departure.
One quick point on NBFCs etc., I think where the government is stalled right now is twofold. One is they see a moral hazard and I sympathise with that. âWhy should the government bail out private entities?â, and thatâs a good point. Second, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code is a lovely piece of legislation. Itâs starting to hopefully settle down, it will work for the future. So, therefore, their bet is things will solve themselves and âwe should not get involved trying to bail out individualsâ. I sympathise with the thinking, but I think the size of the problem is just too large. And, therefore, a one-time solution is required alongside making sure thereâs accountability. And there are structural reforms so that the cycle does not repeat. Unless we take steps like this, and not just in the banks and NBFCs, but the other sectors, and the ease of doing business on manufacturing, I think the realisation of that $5 trillion potential will remain a bridge too far.
What do you think are the biggest positives of the Budget?
V. Srinivasan: Clearly, we have not moved back thanks to the Budget. Whatever investment needs to happen, whatever risk capital needs to come into the country, primarily it is coming from offshore through foreign investors because domestic investors and institutions as of now, whether banks, mutual funds and to a large extent insurance companies, lack the risk appetite in terms of putting money, risk capital to work in the current context. And the only people who are willing to do that seem to be offshore investors. So, the Budget recognises that and to some extent offers a much cleaner, easier environment, from a tax perspective, and from an incentive perspective, for foreign investors to access local markets and provide risk capital. And I think thatâs one of the big positives in the Budget.

I think Iâm the only podcast or to interview you for both versions of Art of the Start.
Guy Kawasaki: And that and a nickel will buy you⌠Well, not even a cup of coffee, but yeah.
John Jantsch: So, weâre going to talk about a number of things today. Itâs been far too long. Guyâs most recent book is called Wise Guy: Lessons From a Life, so weâre going to touch on that. But I always like to get a little update on Canva, so why donât we start there? As an evangelist, this is your only job, right, is to talk about it?
Guy Kawasaki: Well, I also have four children, but whoâs counting? So, Iâm the Chief Evangelist of Canva, and for those of you who may not have heard of Canva, it is an online graphics design service based out of Sydney, Australia. And the essence of Canva is that it has democratized designs that basically anyone can create beautiful designs for social media, posters, business cards, presentations, t-shirts, whatever you want. And Iâll just tell you that, in the month of October, Canva made 139 million images, so we make about four or five million images per day at Canva for people all around the world.
John Jantsch: So, there are dozens of folks that have tried to crack that nut. Why do you suppose Canva was so successful? I mean, there are other online design tools that are been around a long time that havenât been that successful.
Guy Kawasaki: Well, I think that one of the key decisions was that we decided that weâre going to make every conceivable design type, and within a design type, hundreds of templates. So, what I mean by those two words is that, a design type is a square Instagram image, right? A design type is a 16X9 presentation. A design type is a Kindle book cover. So, when you come to Canva you say, âAll right, so I want to create a Pinterest pin. I want to create the Etsy store. I want to create the eBay store cover photo. I want to create the cover photo for my LinkedIn account.â And all of those, we have the optimal dimensions already figured out, and within those design types, we have hundreds of templates. So, you find a template that you like, you upload your own photo or you use one of our stock photos, you change the text, and I promise you, in the time it takes to boot Photoshop, you could finish a design in Canva.
John Jantsch: I totally agree with you. I mean, the ease of just saying⌠For example, if youâre working with a small business client like we do and they are on six different platforms, and you need a header image for each and all the things, every single one is a little different size, and so itâs just so convenient to just go boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. So, I know [inaudible 00:04:04].
Guy Kawasaki: I mean, John, I donât know if you realize this, but even more convenient than going boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, we have a feature called Magic Resize. And what Magic Resize says is, âOkay, you did the basic design for one. Now, we will resize this for all the other five platforms.â
John Jantsch: Oh, but I donât know about that because thatâs the $10 a month one, right? Iâm not going to pay $10 a month [inaudible 00:04:29].
Guy Kawasaki: Oh, John, youâre killing me, John, bro. Your books are free, right?
John Jantsch: No, thatâs awesome. So, are they going to stay true, do you think? Or would there be a temptation to say, âLetâs get into audio and video editing,â and all those kinds of things?
Guy Kawasaki: Well, certainly video because we already do that. Going to 16X9 presentations, weâre trying to make it so that mere mortals can have beautiful PowerPoint-like presentations. I donât know. We would like it so that every graphic in the world is produced by Canva. Weâre not shrinking violence at Canva.
John Jantsch: All right, well I guess you just sold me. Iâm going to pony up the 10 bucks a month.
Guy Kawasaki: Okay. We can end this now.
John Jantsch: All right, so this is, what, your 14th, 15th book, Wise Guy?
Guy Kawasaki: Yeah. Wise Guyâs number 15. I truly do think it will be my last, also.
John Jantsch: Yeah? Is that because youâre out of things to say or because youâre tired?
Guy Kawasaki: Well shit, I was out of things to say on my third book, so⌠Well, itâs partially retired, but switching to the next topic, I am now convinced that podcasting is the new book writing. Because, well, the advantage of podcasting is, well, you can be in front of your audience a minimum of 52 times a year. You can change on a dime. So, next week if John Ives says, âI want to be in your show,â you can put them on, right? Whereas, in your book, it takes a year to write a book, it takes six to nine months to publish it, so letâs say two years, and then, itâs done. Itâs laid in concrete, and youâre never going to touch it again unless you fix typos. So, you get that initial burst of, I donât know, maybe for you, five million people buy your first version. But then, some people read it, but itâs never picked up again. Whereas, a podcast, man, youâre in their face every week. Thatâs so much better.
John Jantsch: Except for What the Plus! I mean, that one lives on forever.
Guy Kawasaki: Well, What the Plus! may have lasted longer than the service, but I digress.
John Jantsch: I completely agree with you on the pod⌠I mean, thereâs so many⌠You mentioned an obvious benefit, but I mean, the first time you and I met was through this format and Iâd like to at least call you a little bit of a friend. Youâve been a [inaudible] of my career over the years, and I think this is where the introduction happened the first time. And Iâve done that with most people.
Guy Kawasaki: But see, Iâm an idiot because it took me⌠Iâm just a late bloomer. I took up hockey at 44. I took up surfing at 61. I took a podcasting is 65. I donât know why people listen to my advice. I clearly donât know what the hell Iâm doing.
John Jantsch: I donât even have to ask you questions because youâre just going along my proposed questions here, but I was going to ask you that. Was their resistance or was it just literally a matter of, âI just didnât get around to itâ?
Guy Kawasaki: What, the podcasting? Okay. So, thereâs the high road answer, and thereâs the low road answer. Which answer do you want?
John Jantsch: I want them both, and weâll balance them out.
Guy Kawasaki: Okay. So, the high road is, Iâm at the end of my career, Iâve made a lot of connections. Iâve made a lot of friends. I can tap into that so that I can interview a Jane Goodall, a Margaret Atwood, a Steve Wozniak, Steve Wolfram, Bob Cialdini. I can get to these people because Iâve been dealing with them for years and years. So, I have this tremendous competitive advantage to interview people that many people could not get unless youâre Terry Gross maybe Malcolm Gladwell. And now, I have a much better filter system because Iâm so much older that I, theoretically, have acquired some wisdom, so I can ask them the right questions. So, my time has come to do a podcast featuring remarkable people. Thatâs the high answer. You want to hear the low answer? Well
John Jantsch: Well, let me let you think about the low answer for a minute. So, your podcast is called Guy Kawasakiâs Remarkable People, and thatâs, ultimately, what youâre doing. So, the chances of me actually being a guest are pretty minimal, I think.
Guy Kawasaki: Well, I have a test that if somebody asks to be on the podcast, theyâre not remarkable enough.
John Jantsch: Yeah. Fair test. So, letâs have the low answer then.
Guy Kawasaki: So, the low answer is, when I came out with Wise Guy, I was a guest on many podcasts. Okay? So, I got to talking to somebodyâs podcast where I say, âSo, how often do you do this?â One guy said 52 times a year., Another guy said 156 times a year. And I said, âSo, whatâs your model?â âWell, itâs advertising and sponsorship.â I say, âOkay, so where does the advertising go?â He says, âWell, thereâs one or two ads in the pre-roll, thereâs one or two ads in the middle, and thereâs one or two ads at the end.â And I said, âWell, how many people listen to these things?â âA quarter million.â âHow much do you get per ad?â âWell, the ones in the front get 20 grand, the ones in the middle will get 15 grand, and the ones at the end get 10 grand.â So, Iâm sitting there doing the math. So, letâs say thereâs six of them and theyâre doing like 15,000 bucks each on average, and I say, âSo, six times 15 is 90. Ninety times 52 is fricking four and a half million bucks. Thatâs 10 times bigger than any advance for a book I ever got. What the hell am I writing books for?
Guy Kawasaki: Simultaneously, at 65, I just donât want to travel anymore. I would just like surf, and so I said, âOkay, so maybe I can make my podcast successful. Basically podcasts and surf. I donât know if Iâll make four and a half million dollars a year, but if I comeâŚâ Well, I donât even need to come close to that to be happy. So, maybe this is my path to retirement and a better life and more surfing. So, thatâs the low answer. I did it for the money.
John Jantsch: I want to remind you that this episode is brought to you by Klaviyo. Klaviyo helps you build meaningful customer relationships by listening and understanding cues from your customers, and this allows you to easily turn that information into valuable marketing messages. Thereâs powerful segmentation, email auto-responders that are ready to go. Great reporting. You learn a little bit about the secret to building customer relationships. Theyâve got a really fun series called Klaviyoâs Beyond Black Friday. Itâs a docu-series, a lot of fun. Quick lessons. Just head on over to klaviyo.com/BeyondBF, Beyond Black Friday.
John Jantsch: So, weâre recording this in December of 2019, depending upon when people are listening to this, youâve launched the show already, your first guest, or at least the first show I was able to see was Jane Goodall. A lot of people know her work for years with the apes in Africa. Whatâs the basis of your relationship with her and that interview?
Guy Kawasaki: Okay. So, about a little more than a year ago, the person who runs the TEDx in Palo Alto, out of the blue asked me if I want to interview Jane Goodall for her at TEDx. And thatâs like, âWell, duh. Of course I want to interview Jane Goodall at TEDx.â So, it actually cost me a lot of money because I turned down a speech. I couldâve got paid speech for the same time. I said, âNo, I can always get another paid speech, but how often can you interview Jane Goodall?â So, I interviewed Jane Goodall for TEDx, which is on YouTube if people want to see it, and I really became friends with her. Sometimes you just hit it off with a person. Right? And so, weâve been communicating and stuff like that, and I communicate with her staff. And [inaudible] Fitzpatrick and I, we always help Jane Goodall when she wants to raise money or make something go out on social media.
Guy Kawasaki: And then, I decided to do this podcast, and I said, âWell, I need a spectacular, remarkable person as the first guest. Who could be,â and you werenât available, âso, who could be better than Jane Goodall?â And so, she was going to be in San Francisco, I recorded her, and yeah, I mean, life is good. Itâs good to be Guy Kawasaki sometimes.
John Jantsch: Yeah. Well, I know what you have a good relationship because Iâve seen pictures of her grooming you.
Guy Kawasaki: Yeah. Sheâs looking for lice in my head.
John Jantsch: Which, I think, was reminiscent of her work in the jungle, wasnât it?
Guy Kawasaki: Yes. Yes.
John Jantsch: So, who else is up for the show? Who else do you plan to talk to in the upcoming weeks?
Guy Kawasaki: Yeah. So, Jane Goodall is out, so is Phil Zimbardo. Phil Zimbardo is the Stanford psychology professor who did the Stanford prison experiment where kids simulated being guards and prisoners. Next week is Stephen Wolfram. He is the creator of Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha, the search engine. Got a PhD at 20, MacArthur Award at 21. The next week after that is Margaret Atwood, the author of Handmaidâs Tale. And then, believe it or not, we have Wee Man, Wee Man from Jackass, the MTV series and movie. And then, I have Bob Cialdini, who Iâm sure youâre heard up because youâre into sales and marketing like I am, so I have Bob Cialdini.
John Jantsch: Heâs been on this show. Yeah.
Guy Kawasaki: Yeah, heâs great. So, basically, thatâs the kind of people I have. I mean, they pass the remarkable test.
John Jantsch: Yeah. So, what do you have to learn to do this? This is a different format. This is different technology. This is maybe a different skill. Whatâs it going to take to get Guy Kawasaki to the Remarkable Podcast host?
Guy Kawasaki: Well, Iâve done a lot of panel moderation and stuff and fireside chats, where Iâve been on both sides, so itâs not like, to use a Jane Goodall analogy, itâs not like I was Tarzan and I got off a ship from Africa and now Iâm in London and I have to figure everything out. So, Iâve been to this rodeo, maybe wearing a different hat, but Iâve been to this rodeo. And have you listened to the Jane Goodall one?
John Jantsch: I listened to about half of it. Yeah. In preparation for [inaudible 00:15:22].
Guy Kawasaki: Okay. So, you could see that⌠Well, one is, to tell you the truth, I believe that the role of the podcast or is to make the guests look great. And I also believe that, if you look at the minutes spent whoâs talking, it should be about 90/10, or 90 is Jane and 10 is Guy. And so, thatâs something, and a lot of people have said, âI really like your podcast, Guy, because you let Jane talk.â I think a lot of podcasts, itâs all about them, right? Theyâre just talking and talking and talking, and then, finally, the guest gets to say something and then the podcaster gets back on a riff. So, I donât step on my guests. Now, honestly, I donât know how to get subscribers or advertisers, but I figure, if I get all these guests and I produce a great podcast, Iâm a big believer in, âIf you build it, they will come.â
John Jantsch: Well. I think thatâs a lot of it. And youâre also doing the networking. You contacted me to tell me about it, and you contacted a lot of people to tell them about it. I mean, thatâs kind of Marketing 101, right?
Guy Kawasaki: Well, nothing is easy, right? Well, if youâre Michelle Obama and you started Michelle Obama Remarkable People Podcast, Iâm pretty sure youâll get 5 million subscribers in the first day, but Iâm not Michelle Obama.
John Jantsch: Do you listen to podcasts?
Guy Kawasaki: Yes.
John Jantsch: Yeah. What are some of your favorites?
Guy Kawasaki: I listen to Malcolm Gladwellâs Revisionist History, who Iâm trying to get as a guest. I listened to Wait Wait⌠Donât Tell Me! I listen to Freakonomics. I listen to Joe Rogan. I listen to Terry Gross. Iâm a big NPR fan, basically.
John Jantsch: Right, right, right. Yeah. Yeah, you can [inaudible] a lot of those shows have moved to the podcast format, but obviously, thereâs still broadcast, as well. Where do you think this is going? The audio⌠And again, maybe youâre not in the position right now where you want to future cast trends and things because youâre just trying to figure it out to make it work for you, but it seems to me like audio content right now⌠I mean, podcasts had been around a while, but it seems to me like audio content is really hot and itâs going to get hotter.
Guy Kawasaki: Yes. I think that podcasting is like artificial intelligence. So, artificial intelligence for the last 30 years was going to be the next big thing, right? And finally it is. So, I think we may be there with podcasting. A lot of it is⌠Itâs critical mass. I mean, in a sense, Apple has created a critical mass for podcasting. In the same sense, I think, one of the things Iâve noticed is QR codes, which was supposed to be a big thing, Apple finally made it a real big thing because now when you just put your camera on a QR code, you donât have to download a QR reader, right? So, all of a sudden, yeah, QR codes makes sense. And I think Apple did the same thing with podcasts, that now that theyâve done so much and they put a podcast player on every iOS device, Apple has created another market.
John Jantsch: Yeah. And Iâve been doing this before, that was the case and that was one of the initial challenges with podcasts. It was hard to show people how to listen.
Guy Kawasaki: Yeah. Yeah.
John Jantsch: Where do you think Spotify fits into this? It seems to me like Spotify is really gaining some traction in the podcast space. Do they take on Apple, or is it just broaden the universe for everyone?
Guy Kawasaki: Hell if I know. I mean, based on two episodes, I donât consider myself an expert. But Spotify has taken a different position. In a sense, theyâre like Netflix, right? So, Netflix just doesnât share stuff anymore. Netflix has its own series. Right? So, similarly, Amazon Prime, I watch Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime owns Jack Ryan, right? And so, Spotify is trying to create content, not just distribute content, and so theyâre supposed be making this huge investment in podcasting. And I guess weâll look back and say, âWow, that was a genius move,â or weâll look back and say, âWell, what a dumbass move.â And I donât know. If Apple said weâre going to be a content creator⌠Well, they they do that, right? They created that Morning Show for Apple TV and all that, so I guess weâll see. I donât know.
John Jantsch: Yeah. I think thatâs the direction a lot of people are going ahead, and I wouldnât be surprised if, just like you are playing the evangelist role for Canva, Iâm wondering when companies like that start bringing in somebody like you to be their podcaster or to be their spokesperson as a podcaster.
Guy Kawasaki: Well, funny you should mentioned that because Iâm Chief Evangelist of Canva, and I told Canva, I told you know the other people at Canvas, like, âSo, right now you have your Canva social media, the Instagram, Facebook, all that, and you have your email lists, but thereâs a limit to how many times you can send an email to someone in your registered user database. And that limit is not 52 times a year.â So, Iâm making the case that, if we could get my subscriber base up to a million or so, that is a fricking tremendous weapon. So, if Guy Kawasakiâs Remarkable People has a million subscribers and Guy Kawasakiâs Chief Evangelist of Canva, so at an extreme, the pre-roll, the midway, and the end ads could all be for Canva. So, imagine, 52 times a year you can hit a million people with an ad three times. Oh my God. I mean, life is good.
John Jantsch: Absolutely.
Guy Kawasaki: So, yeah.
John Jantsch: So, I think thatâs going to be a role that, I think, you start seeing is that whether theyâre media companies or just companies seeing it as another channel, I think are going to start buying up peopleâs reach with the podcast.
Guy Kawasaki: Yeah. Because, I mean, for the very simple reason that you could hit people much more often with a podcast than you can with an email, MailChimp campaign. Accenture did a five or six podcast series with will.i.am, right? And you couldnât hit your Accenture database six times, or probably maybe 18 times, because there are multiple ads inside the six episodes. Thereâs no way you could have hit your installed base with 18 email campaigns. Well, first of all, thereâs not 18 interesting email campaigns you could do.
John Jantsch: Yeah. And I think thatâs the key point, too, is itâs far more engaging content than an email ever will be.
Guy Kawasaki: Well, I mean, in a sense, how does NPR raise money? I mean, you donât enjoy the pledge drive, right? So, you feel a moral obligation to reciprocate. And similarly, with Wikipedia, you donât like to see that ugly banner where Jimmy Wales is asking you for money, but because Wikipedia provides such great information and content, you feel a moral obligation to donate. So, you could make the case that if Guy Kawasakiâs Remarkable People has all this great wisdom and advice and inspiration, and then itâs sponsored by Canva, you might feel, âOh geez, I should help Guy out and use Canva.â Thatâs the theory anyway.
John Jantsch: Yeah. I think itâs a good theory. Well, Guy, weâve exhausted our time. It was great catching up with you again, and I wish you luck in this new venture. And I will not ask to be on the show, I will just wait by my email for the invitation, if it should come.
Guy Kawasaki: Well, I hope someday to send you that email.
John Jantsch: All right, well-
Guy Kawasaki: Letâs hope that you have four files.
John Jantsch: Yeah, weâre recording with some new new technology here that I think is going to just be awesome, so I-
Guy Kawasaki: If you donât have four files, itâs my fault for convincing you to do this, and I will appear again.
John Jantsch: Thatâs right. All right. Well, I get to say to you, mahalo, then.
Guy Kawasaki: Take care.
