Conrad hat nach eigenen Angaben gut geschlafen, für Eva-M war die letzte Nacht nicht so toll, wird wohl an der Umgebung gelegen haben. So laut, wie in einigen Bewertungen zu lesen war, ist es aber bei weitem nicht hier auf dem Stellplatz. Es ist halt nur nicht in der Natur....

Heute wollten wir uns allerdings nicht so viel Zeit mit der Abfahrt lassen, um am Zielort noch etwas unternehmen zu können.

Es war doch wieder 9.20 Uhr, als wir den Platz verließen. Dafür aber komplett versorgt, wir sind jetzt also für zwei Tage wieder autark.

Wir hatten uns vorgenommen, da wir nun schon einmal in der Gegend sind und den Geirangerfjord besuchen wollten, auch gleichzeitig auf den Trollstigen zu fahren. Unsere Else mussten wir natürlich überlisten, sie wollte partout durchs Landesinnere fahren. Wir aber nicht. Also haben wir erst ein Ziel an der Küste eingegeben und nachdem wir mit der ersten Fähre von Halsa übergesetzt haben, nannten wir ihr das Ziel Trollstigen. Nun klappte es vorzüglich.

Das nächste Highlight war die Brücke bei Gjemnes, schon von weitem ein imposantes Gebilde. Die Fahrt war sehr kurzweilig, wir entdeckten immer wieder neue grandiose Anblicke, Ausblicke, Landschaften.

Bei Molde erwarteten wir eine weitere Fährfahrt, da allerdings führte uns der Weg unter dem Fjord her. Das hatten wir schon einmal, nur dieses Mal war der Fjord wesentlich breiter. Der Tunnel ging bis auf eine Tiefe von 120 m hinunter, um dann wieder langsam an die Oberfläche zu kommen.

Weiter ging die Fahrt, wir kamen an einer Stabskirche vorbei, deren Fassade in diesem wunderschönen Rot gestrichen war. Um dann ein weiteres Mal in Solsnes einen Fjord mit einer Fähre zu überqueren. Das funktioniert alles hervorragend, Eva-M ist gespannt, ob wir mit unserem Budget hinkommen.

Von Afarnes aus waren es nun nur noch 52 km bis zum Trollstigen. Wir umfuhren den Isfjorden und kurz hinter Andalsnes bogen wir von der E136 auf die 63 ein, die zum Trollstigen führte.

Eine großartige Landschaft, es fehlen die Worte, um ihr gerecht zu werden. Dieser Abstecher hat sich gelohnt, auch wenn unser WoMo eventuell anderer Meinung ist, weil sein Motor gequält wurde durch die Serpentinen. Wir jedenfalls wurden durch den Anblick mehr als entschädigt für eventuelle Ängste, die Eva-M ausgestanden hat. Da würden noch mehr Ängste hinzukommen, nur das wussten wir zu dem Zeitpunkt noch nicht.

Zunächst einmal genossen wir den Aufenthalt hoch oben in den Bergen.

Langsam schlängelte sich die Straße wieder bergab. Am Fuße des Berges mussten wir für heute ein drittes Mal mit der Fähre fahren, über den Nordalsfjorden. Leider konnten wir dieses Mal keine Fotos machen, obwohl wir direkt in den Fjord hätten schauen können. Es war aber keine Gangway auf der Fähre, sodass man erhöht hätte stehen können. Schade!

Anschließend fuhren wir wieder bergauf. Eva-M ahnte schreckliches. Oben führte die Straße über eine Bergkuppe und dann kündigte sich eine Aussichtsplattform an. Conrad meinte, alles besetzt, kein Parkplatz frei und wollte weiterfahren. Eva-M protestierte energisch, es fand sich natürlich ein Platz. Und der Anblick, der sich uns nun bot, war unbeschreiblich. Der Geirangerfjord von oben.... Gigantisch!

Anschließend kam dann das, was Eva-M befürchtet hat: Serpentinen bergab.... Trotz Motorbremse musste Conrad die Bremsen treten, mit dem Ergebnis, dass man sie riechen konnte, als wir unten am Campingplatz waren. Aber alles ist ja gut gegangen.

Einen Stellplatz haben wir auch noch erhalten, können auf den Fjord schauen und haben uns entschieden, noch einen Tag hier anzuhängen, um eine kleine Pause zu haben. Das Wetter soll morgen hier ganz gut sein, also haben wir soeben einen Fjordrundfahrt für morgen gebucht.

Nun lassen wir den Abend ausklingen und werden noch ein Glas Wein trinken.

Atlantikstraße und Geiranger von Molde aus

  Atlantikstraße und Geiranger

Nach 2 Stationen komme wir in Molde an. Molde liegt etwas südöstlich von Kristiansund, gleich unter Eide und damit sozusagen in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Atlantikstraße. Aber auch ein paar weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten sind mit einer Tagestour gut zu erreichen. Die Trollstiegen liegen ein bisschen nördlich des Geirangerfjordes und die Stabkirche Rødven liegt auch nahe bei, etwa eine Fährfahrt über den Langfjorden entfernt. Wir haben uns die Atantikstraße und den Geiranger angesehen, die Trollstiegen sind im Winter leider gesperrt und für die Stabkirche hatten wir einfach keine Zeit mehr. Update 02.09.2019: Ab heute gibt es speziell zum Atlantikweg auch ein Video auf YouTube   Unser Quartier haben wir auf dem Campingplatz in Kviltorp gebucht. 24.01.2019 Atlantikstraße

Zwischen Eide und Kristiansund erstreckt sich die sogenannte Atlantikstraße. Warum die so heißt weiß ich nicht genau, mag aber sein, dass es daran liegt, dass die Straße eine ganze Zeit lang direkt am Atlantik entlangläuft. Von Molde aus mußten wir allerdings erst mal über die ganze Insel auf der 663 nach Farstad fahren, denn da beginnt der Atlantikweg erst. So richtig schön wird es dann erst ab Vevang, wo sich der Weg über eine Reihe von Brücken über kleinere Inseln an der Küste entlangschlängelt. Norwegischer Schärengarten an der Atlantikstraße Der Atlantikweg oder die Atlantikstraße ist ein Weg direkt am Meer entlang. Naja fast direkt. Die Landschaft ist dort ganz anders als wir das von Fjord-Norwegen eigentlich kennen. Es ist eher so wie in Schweden mit kleinen Felsinseln vor der Küste, also Schären im sonst bergigen Norwegen. Interessant ist die Kombination aus diesen Schären und den hohen schneebedeckten Bergen im Hinterland. Die Straße führt zunächst durch einige Dörfer in einigem Abstand von der Küste. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, einmal in eine der Stichstraßen einzubiegen und den Weg direkt an die Küste zu suchen. Wir haben das gemacht und noch einmal ganz andere Fotolocations gefunden als die, die wir eh schon von der Straße kannten. Die Brücken der Atlantikstraße Das wohl bekannteste abgelichtete Objekt der Atlantikstraße ist die Storseisundbrua. Das ist die Brücke, die so ganz steil hoch geht und dann gleichzeitig eine Kurve macht. Wir haben ein oder mehrere Bilder in der Gallerie zu diesem Beitrag. Naja, die geht schon wirklich steil hoch, fast wie so eine Achterbahn, was bei der glatten Fahrbahn im Winter sicher Probleme geben kann, wenn die falschen Reifen auf dem Auto sind. Alle anderen Brücken sind ganz normal und eigentlich keine weite Anreise Wert. Einzig die Tatsache, dass sie alle über kleine Schäreninseln führen ist aber anscheinend Touristenmagnet genug. Wir waren etwas verwundert. Versteh mich nicht falsch, landschaftlich ist das schon schön da, aber es gibt in diesem Land so viele schöne, faszinierende großartige Landschaften und Straßen, die nicht extra als Sehenswürdigkeit hervorgehoben werden, dass es uns halt gewundert hat, warum nun gerade dieser 8,5 km lange Straßenabschnitt so hervorgehoben wird. Neben der Spur Wenn Du da bist, dann nimm Dir auf jeden Fall die Zeit, in die kleinen Straßen in den Dörfern abzubiegen und noch näher an das Meer zu kommen. Wir haben das auf unserer Tour im Ort Skotheimsvik gemacht und sind an einen Kaianleger ans Meer gefahren. Dieser Anleger ist auf der kleinen Insel Kråkholmen, die über einen schmalen Damm erreicht werden kann. Dort fahren täglich Fischer raus aufs Meer und auch die Boote zu den vorgelagerten Inseln Teistklubben und Storholmen fahren von dort aus los. Auf den beiden Inseln befinden sich noch Gehöfte. Ich habe mal die Chance genutzt und dort, in der verlassenen Gegend, meine Drohne aufsteigen lassen, um die Schärenlandschaft von oben zu betrachten. An den Brücken ist dazu viel zu viel los und die Bilder kennt ja auch jeder. Gibt es bei YouTube zur Genüge. Von diesen Stichwegen gibt es in der Region einige, aber wegen mangelnder Zeit konnten wir nur diesen Einen befahren. Aber auf jeden Fall findest Du dort, neben der Spur, noch Gegenden, die nicht so vom Tourismus eingenommen sind.  An- und Abfahrt zur Atlantikstraße Tatsächlich waren die Anfahrt und Heimreise von und nach Molde das schlimmste an der Tour. Der Weg geht mitten über die Halbinsel, durch viele Dörfer und über ziemlich üble Straßen. Wir sind natürlich nicht über Eide gefahren sondern querfeldein und haben so die ganze Vielfalt an Schlaglöchern und vereisten Fahrbahnen mitgenommen. Wer es bis dahin noch nicht im Rücken hat, der hat es spätestens nach dieser Tour. Die Landschaft ist schon schön, aber nicht so schön, dass man dafür einen Bandscheibenvorfall riskieren sollte. Aber vielleicht ist es dort im Sommer ja besser zu fahren. Sogar unsere Hunde hinten im Kofferraum fingen nach einiger Zeit an zu fiepen. Gegenstand des Tages Heute wieder ein Gegenstand, bzw. 2, die wir auf Reisen eigentlich jeden Tag mindestens einmal benutzen. Unsere Espressokanne für den Herd und den Milchschäumer, der nur mit einem Stempelsieb die Milch in Schaum verwandelt. Ohne unseren morgendlichen Cappuccino sind wir eigentlich nur halbe Menschen.  

25.01.2019 Der Fjord der Fjorde - Geiranger

Wer Fjord und Norwegen sagt, der sagt auch immer Geiranger. Kein anderer ist so bekannt, wie dieses schmale Band Wasser zwischen den links und rechts steil aufragenden Felswänden. Dazu noch 2 - 3 Kreuzfahrtschiffe in der Mitte und fertig ist das Kalenderblatt. 300.000 Passagiere von Kreuzfahrern haben 2017 den Geirangerfjord besucht. Eine unglaubliche Zahl wie ich finde, sieht man sich einmal das schmale Gewässer und die kleine Ortschaft Geiranger an. Unglaublich. Erst 2026 will Norwegen die Einfahrt nur noch für Kreuzfahrer mit Akkubetrieb erlauben. Anfahrt von Molde aus Auch wir sind nicht emissionsfrei angereist, nein dazu auch noch mit einem Dieselfahrzeug. Schande über uns, aber der Tesla bringt einfach nicht genug Reichweite :-). Von Molde aus nehmen wir sofort die Fähre nach Vestnes, fahren die E136 bis Sjøholt und dann immer am Storfjord entlang bis nach Linge, einem kleinen Fähranleger mitten im Nirgendwo. Dort setzen wir über nach Eidsdal und fahren dann über Fjell und Tal bis zu den Serpentinen der 63 und hinab bis nach Geiranger. Im Gegensatz zur Atlantikstraße vom Vortag ist schon die Fahrt am Storfjord entlang fantastisch. Wie gewohnt fallen die Fellswände direkt in das Wasser und gehen bis zu einer Tiefe von fast 680 Metern unter Wasser weiter. Ich finde das ja sowas von einmalig. 680 Meter Wasseriefe..... In Stordal machen wir kurz Stop und gehen bei Coop einkaufen. Weiter geht es. Unterwegs sehen wir einen Unfall, bei dem schon Rettungswagen und Feuerwehr vor Ort sind. Ein PKW ist in die Seite eines LKWs geschliddert und von da aus direkt in die Felswand. Gut das da die Felswand war und nicht die Fjordseite... Wer weiß wo und in welcher Tiefe der Wagen dann gelandet wäre. Die Straße am Fjord entlang ist aber auch wirklich rutschig und fast völlig vereist. Also fahren wir einfach noch eine Spur vorsichtiger und lassen immer mal wieder die schnelleren Norweger mit ihren Spikereifen vorbei. Fjell und Tal Fast noch schöner wird die Landschaft nach unserem Übersetzen nach Eidsdal. Die Straße verläuft dort fast kurvenlos durch ein Tal, das links und rechts von gigantisch wirkenden Bergen eingerahmt wird. In der Mitte noch ein kleines Flüsschen macht den Kitsch perfekt. Gibt es eigentlich gar nicht sowas. Hinter dem Tal geht es dann in Serpentinen aufwärts. Am Ende der Serpentinen geht es über den Berg und direkt wieder in Serpentinen runter. 11 Haarnadelkurven sind es bis zu der kleinen Ortschaft Geiranger. Vo oben bietet sich ein Panorama wie aus einem Geo Spezial Dokumentarfilm. Wer es nicht gesehen hat, glaubt es nicht. Der Geiranger liegt direkt unter uns. Unten angekommen fahren wir noch eine kleine Strecke am Geiranger entlang. Der Ort Geiranger Es ist Winter, also erwarten wir keinen großen Ansturm in dem Ort. Hier leben etwa 250 (zweihundertfünfzig) Einwohner. Mehr sind da nicht und die leben alle vom Tourismus. Tatsächlich ist der Ort tot. Keine Menschenseele ist auf der Straße, weder Souveniershops noch Restaurants, geschweige denn das total häßliche Hotel haben geöffnet. Apropos das Hotel. Ein grauer Betonbau Marke 1960. Könnte auch aus sozialistischer Produktion stammen. Wir fragen uns, wer auf die glorreiche Idee gekommen ist, sowas am Eingang des Dörfchens und in eine solche Landschaft zu bauen. Wir können jedenfalls nur mit dem Kopf schütteln. Wir fahren noch etwa 500 Meter weiter den Ort hinauf und drehen dann um. Derzeit gibt es nur eine Zufahrt nach Geiranger hin (abgesehen vom Fjord aus) nämlich die von Eidsdal aus. Die andere Zufahrt über die 65 von Grotli aus ist im Winter gesperrt. Also drehen auch wir um und fahren den gleichen Weg zurück, den wir gekommen sind. Der Geiranger wird seinem Ruf gerecht Tatsächlich sind wir wohl schon etwas verwöhnt, was die Landschaften in Norwegen angeht. Die Atlantikstraße hat uns nicht umgehauen, aber der Geirangerfjord und vor allem auch die Fahrt dort hin ist wirklich beeindrucken. Wir wundern uns allerdings wie ein so kleiner Ort wie Geiranger all diese abertausende Touristen jährlich verkraftet. Jetzt hier im Winter liegt die ganze Gegend einsam und ruhig da und wir möchten es uns auch nicht anders vorstellen. Sowieso haben wir auf der Fahrt durch Skandinavien nur 2 mal ein deutsches Kennzeichen auf der Straße gesehen. Einmal in Schweden und das andere Mal in Finnland auf einem Parkplatz mitten im Nirgendwo. Die Rückfahrt ist genauso eindrucksvoll wie der Weg hin. Kein Wunder, man sieht ja das Ganze jetzt aus der anderen Richtung und Perspektive. Das ist uns übrigens auch schon vorher in andern Gegenden aufgefallen. Gegenstand des Tages Heute gibt es hier eine Gegenstand, nein eigentlich ein Verkehrsmittel in Norwegen, dass das Vorankommen unheimlich erleichtert. Die Fähren. Fähre fahren ist hier wie S-Bahn fahren in Deutschland. Alle 20 Minuten steht eine neue Fähre bereit. Meist kommt man am Fähranleger an und kann sofort auf die Fähre fahren. Völlig unkompliziert bezahlt man mit Karte oder in Bar. Ist die Fahrt etwas länger, findet man unter Deck auch einen Kiosk und kann da leckere norwegische Waffeln mit Sauerrahm und evtl. Käse essen. In E136, John Stewart is the brainy Lantern. He's an architect, an engineer (And not a soldier). He's in awe of the alien tech he comes across, and he's curious about it. He wants to take stuff apart to see how it works, reverse engineer alien tech and how it can be modified, how it works with human technology.

And that's the strength of his constructs. Green Lantern constructs are based off imagination, and John's imagination is a lot stronger when he has a basis of how his construct might work, how it would look on a blueprint.

Hal and Guy have their willpower, Kyle has his creativity, John has blueprints. If the Lantern we see in MAWS is a Monk, then John is the Artificier.

I've been thinking about the origin of Superman's Costume in E136, and I decided on this: The blue bodysuit is Kryptonian in origin, quintessentially Kryptonian, the basic element of every Kryptonian outfit with a hint of formality, and even those without.

They were sort of similar to still suits and Vaulter Jumpsuits from Fallout, the descendant of Hazmat suits worn during Krypton's Post-Nuclear Age, with the modern interpretations being sophisticated biotech composed of a series of pieces assembled into a whole bodysuit via sophisticated bio electrical and magnetic currents, which are unknowingly capable of channeling and even expanding the range of Kryptonian bio energy and force fields.

Comic book science aside, the bodysuits were infinitely customizable, usually full body suits reaching to the ankles, wrists, and just below the chin, though pieces could be removed and added to the user's comfort level. Beyond that, their magnetic properties were used as attachment points for a dizzying array of clothing articles. Cloaks, skirts, togas, jewelry, professional wear, anything.

The Military Guild used their bodysuits as the underlayer for battle armour, the Science Guild wore labcoats and hazmat suits, etc.

While the bodysuit is the basis, the adornments mark it as a proper Uniform in the eyes of other Kryptonians. The El sigil, displayed as pentagonal shield over his chest as as his right as a son of a noble house, red strongman shorts from Martha, red boots, and a cape from Lara, which marked her as an astronaut, and the first Kryptonian to ever leave the light of Rao and return safely.

And finally, it was presented to him by John, his father and the parent whose surname he carried, as was tradition on Krypton.

E136: Anarky

"It's a sort of random action that makes me the better player,"

In contrast to the ultimately well intentioned radical Lonnie Machin, the Anarky that arose in Post Crisis Gotham seemed to be more of an agent of unfiltered chaos than his predecessor.

Styling himself as an "Anti-Batman" in the lieu of Wrath, the first Prometheus, and Killer Moth before him, the "White King" in opposition to Cassandra Cain's "Black Queen", he worked through a series of proxies and pawns, challenging the new Batman for the soul of the rebuilding Gotham.

Between his methods, his adherence to a code that shifted to his whims, and the anonymity of his origin, he rose to a place amongst Cassandra Cain's Rogue's Gallery rivaling that of the original Joker of the Golden Age

hi, your e136 look pretty cool! I wanna ask, how did Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz get to being the second Jade and Obsidian?

Wherever there is light, shadow will bloom in its absence. The Intrinsic Light, parts of which would be harnessed by the Oans to eventually create the Green Lantern Corps, would be no exception. Volthoom, a lantern during the Maltusian Imperial Era, would seek to explore this Great Darkness, bypassing the safeguards of his Ring to do so. He would be found out, of course, separated from his Ring and imprisoned, but the Ring would disappear into the far reaches of space.

Eventually reaching Earth.

In some worlds, the Ring of Volthoom would empower the Power Ring of the Crime Syndicate.

In E136, the unfortunate human it found was Jessica Cruz. After a period controlled by the Ring, Jessica would find the will to wrest control of her body from the Ring, if only temporarily, causing the Ring to self destruct as one last act of spite, catching good samaritan street racer Simon Baz in the blast when he volunteered to drive Jessica away from populated areas.

Fortunately both would survive, though the blast would inexorably link Jessica with the Green Realm of the Light and Simon with the Darklands, giving them powers parity to Jade and Obsidian, sibling superheroes active in the latter half of the 20th century, powers that would grow uncontrollable unless they stayed in relatively close contact.

Bound by chance, the duo would eventually become heroes by choice, serving as partners in crime (stopping)...and eventually life.

They may end up having kids, but I'm not certain. They're married as fuck though.

E136: The Marvels

The Marvels

First off, and this may be controversial but...non American Batsons? I'm split between Canada or England.

Billy Batson and Mary Bromfield are twins, like Pre-Flashpoint, anointed as co-champions by the Wizard Shazam (Not Mamaragan, he's his own character).

Also, Handaqi heritage for both of them.

The power is halved when they're both transformed, but they can DBZ style combine into Captain Thunder, who's more powerful than either one at full power.

They're both called Captain Marvel, both they're nicknamed Lord and Lady Marvel when operating as one.

Freddy Freeman is blonde, but his transformed state (once he's loaned out the power of course) looks just like Elvis. This further divides the Shazam power into thirds, and further increases Captain Thunder's power.

There is a greater age gap between these three and Pedro, Eugene, and Darla.

This might be a controversial opinion, but I like Billy's Darkseid War re-power, so at some point he ends up with that powerset (S'ivaa, H'ronmeer, Anapel, Zonuz, Ate & Mamaragan) while Mary gets another goddess focused powerset from the Amazons, and the original SHAZAM powerset is distributed between Uncle Dudley and the remaining Vasquez household children.

E136 Trivia: Beyond the JSA

Just unloading a lot of stuff about the E136 Timeline regarding the latter half of the 20th century.

The Justice Society survived the 50's into the 60's, but was disbanded in anticipation of the Vietnam War.

The latter half of the twentieth century was dominated by the Charlton Comics characters in the late 60's-70's, Infinity Inc and the first Birds of Prey in the 70's-80s, the BRPD, the Soviet Firestorm and the four elemental robots known as the Soviet Metal Men, and a lot of non-superhero teams we see in DC and Wildstorm Comics (Challengers of the Unknown, Sea Devils, etc.)

One of these teams was a take on the "Super Friends" who never took an official name. Considered a precursor to later Multi-national teams such as the JLI, the first ““Stormwatch” as they were called, was comprised of the American Thunderer (Black Vulcan), the Mescalero Longshadow (Apache Chief), the Mexicans Sol Excepcional (El Dorado) and Extrano, the Japanese Wind Dragon (Samurai), and twin aliens known as the Wonder Twins.

J'onn J'onzz was active in this time period as the Bronze Wraith, as was Hal Jordan (The second Green Lantern), and Robert Queen (Codename: Red Hood) in his role as a contractor to the predecessors of Team 7.

Diana spent much of this time period as an inter dimensional swashbuckler, along with Ferdinand, Siegfried, and her "brother" Jason, the last son of Zeus.

This Era came to an end with the arrival of Monarch, a self proclaimed warlord from the year 2001, who killed many of the above heroes and their respective villains, caused the disappearance of many others, and destroyed Coast City, sending Hal Jordan down the dark path to Parallax...

The 90's would see Team 7 rise to "prominence", part of a boom of cloak and dagger organizations such as Checkmate, Argus, Spyral, & IO, all preparing for the threats Monarch predicted...and getting in each other's ways.

The pre-eminent superheroes of this generation, immediately preceding the Trinity's, were the Doom Patrol, a public facing BRPD team, the beginnings of a new Metal Men team, and a local Metropolis Vigilante known as Black Lightning, the son of the fallen Thunderer.

hey can you tell me about E136 Flash family?

Okay, I’m excluding the Chambers family and periphery speedsters (Bolt, Avery Ho, Danica Williams, Tanaka Rei, the Heroic Savitar and his villainous doppelganger) and focusing on the Garrick-Allen-West family, which is still an extensive story with just how enmeshed they are with the Speed Force.

But before that, I’m going to explain the reason why Keystone/Central City is so prone to speed force infused lightning bolts. It all stems from a Missouri Native American man who’s E136’s version of Max Mercury. (Missouri instead of Blackfoot because it’s more local, and I’d like to get more in depth with him, but I’d need to do research because I want to make this respectful)

(BTW, if anyone has resources on the Missouri People, I’d be very grateful)

He accidentally tapped into the Speed Force via a magic spell and earnest prayer in order to prevent a massacre of Natives by the U.S, Military and became unbound in time, disturbing the Speed Force and kicking it up into a storm stretching throughout time and localized to the Central-Keystone area. Max Mercury himself would occasionally pop up through the Flash’s history, serving as a mentor to younger speedsters, especially Bart Allen.

Cut to the late 1930’s when Jay Garrick is locked in a laboratory with heavy water in a convoluted assassination attempt by fellow student Edward Clariss to win the affections of Jay’s girlfriend, Joan Williams. In a stroke of questionable luck he and the heavy water are hit by the lightning bolt, activating his meta gene and tapping him into the speed force, becoming the first Flash.

A college footballer, he was a fairly straightforward speedster, running in straight lines and making good if unintentional use of his altered sense of physics to hit people with football tackles. He served on the All Star Squadron and served on the JSA for its entire existence, during which he and Joan would have Judy, who would become Thunderheart (Rejected names: Bang, Boom).

Unfortunately, at some point, Judy disappeared into the Speed Force, and Jay hung up the hat soon after.

Cut to 1988, when Barry Allen came home to his parents murder suicide. He’s taken in by Darryl Frye (Based off of the Earth 2 jazz musician version of the CW Flash’s Joe West), and grew into a forensic scientist, best friends with Meena Dhawan, husband to Iris West, and guardian to Iris’ nephew, Wally West (1). He was invited for a private viewing to Central City’s new particle accelerator, sharing the front seat with the Rival, a robot built to fight Jay Garrick.

Cue the Accelerator going sideways, and Barry Allen being supposedly vaporized by a bolt of lightning, the Rival bot being vaporized, and Wally being sent into a temporary coma. After spending a virtual eternity trapped within the Speed Force, he’s spat out several months after his death…in the Rival bot’s body.

Thus begins the F.L.A.S.H. (Fastest Living Artificial Super Hero). He would become a founding member of the Justice League, take on Wally as Kid Flash, finally reveal his identity and get back with Iris, and both fight and reconnect with his long lost twin Malcolm Allen (Adopted by Crispus Allen’s family). He would struggle with his sense of self for years, trying not to lose his consciousness to the Speed Force, a fight he would ultimately lose trying to stop the Anti-Monitor, though not before having twins (Don and Nora) with Iris via IVF with Malcolm’s help, who would grow up as civilians.

Also amongst the Allens are Thad and Bart Allen, sons of Don Allen heralding from a dark future where the heroes of Earth fight a losing war against regime of supervillains backed by the Reach and propped up by Apokalyptan tech, given their powers via a retrofitted cosmic treadmill. With the aversion of this dark future and the loss of several items used to kickstart their powers, their future now exists in a state of flux.

The version of the twins stranded in the present would meet a tragic parting as Thad would give his life to the Black Racer, while Bart would fall under the tutelage of Max Mercury, eventually becoming successor to the Mercury name.

Then there are the Wests, Iris, Rudy, and the estranged Daniel. Both Rudy and Daniel would separately name their sons Wallace in reference to their grandfather. Wally West the first would gain his powers following the above mentioned lightning strike and pretty much force himself under the wing of the robotic speedster who appeared several months later.

You could imagine his surprise upon finding out that the robot’s actually his uncle.

He would become Kid Flash, meet Artemis Crock and Dick Grayson, join the Teen Titans, nearly get killed by his powers, semi-retire and go to college, become friends with Chester Runk, fall in love with Linda Park, come out of retirement to fend off the Apokalyptan Invasion, share the mantle of Flash with Barry for several years, become an avatar of the Speed Force, have a falling out with his friend Hunter Zolomon, have kids with Linda Park, and become the Post-Crisis Flash before sharing/passing off the mantle to Jess Chambers.

Linda herself would gain photokinetic powers and briefly be press ganged into the Rogues as Prism, but would mostly stay out of the superhero game.

Wallace “Ace” West would mostly be raised by his mother Rina while his father Daniel went in and out of prison. Rina would be diagnosed with MacGregor's Syndrome, and lacking any relatives, would move to Central City to be closer to Iris and the West-Allens. Daniel would follow, and both would nearly be killed by a nearly cataclysmic fight between the Flash fam and the Legion of ZOOM (The various Reverse Flashes). Ace would be taken under the older Wally’s wing as the new Kid Flash, eventually becoming Surge, while Daniel would meet an unfortunate end as the Reverse Flash of Owlman's New Crime Syndicate.

Wally’s twins, Iris and Jai would both follow in their father’s footsteps. Iris, the more traditional speedster of the two, would become Impulse, the Kid Flash to Jess Chambers’ Flash, before eschewing the Flash name and becoming Impulse once more. Jai, meanwhile, wouldn’t end up with superspeed, but increased control of the secondary altered physics field and a degree of temporal manipulation, becoming a heroic version of the Turtle, equipt with a Captain America-style shield.

I’m not sure about Wade, but I had the idea his powers would be a weird mixture of his parents, where he could access and intangible ‘Lightspeed’ mode.

E136 Lex Luthor and Veronica Cale have an interesting relationship. He's a geneticist, she's a robotics wunderkind. They collectively hate two of the most iconic heroes of the modern age. They exchange research and tech to help each other kill their respective nemesis. They have a mutual respect. If one goes down the other is going to help bury them. They have assassins pointed at the back of each other's heads at all times.

LD&R Season 3 is actually the only season where I want to rewatch the majority of the episodes. Spoilers ahead for my faves:

Bad Traveling was phenomenal, Torrin is a magnificent bastard, love what we see about this world and want to learn more, I don’t mind the animation, and the crab speaking through dead body just hits a button with me. Shares the latter part with Swarm.

The Very Pulse of The Machine was majorly trippy.

Night of the Mini-Dead had me laughing out loud.

I cried during Mason’s Rats (don’t judge me okay)

In order to accurately describe my love for Jibaro, you’d have to extract the chemicals my brain makes while watching this and ingest the resulting drug. I watched the opening dance/slaughter three times. I’m seeing some weird connections drawn between this and Spanish colonialism in South America. Real lake Guatavita vibes.
