I go somewhere else, into the blackened woods of old fairytales, into the blinding white of future stars. I read and read and read.

#yeah yeah ik i said i probably wasn't gonna do this but i've had a good start to the year and i changed my mind#approaching things a bit differently so i probably won't update this super regularly just every so often when i've read a handful of books#also ditching the half star ratings because you can't do them on goodreads (yes ik storygraph exists) and i wanna simplify my ratings#wanna get back into writing detailed reviews so will be hopefully doing that on goodreads.#but again just every so often when i've read a few books and have had time to think about them#books 2024

i’ve heard nocturnal animals is great! i think there’s a movie/tv show adaptation? i could be wrong tho. hope you like the books you got!
me too! it was one of my favorite ya series when i started to get into books more. it’s such an underrated book/movie from the 2012-2017 era of ya dystopian sagas.
understandable. i still love your rant about it though! like i said, i love hearing people’s strong (or even light) opinions on books of all sorts. i also have a mini book club with some friends but we haven’t done a buddy read in ages. have you read other books alongside your friends?
i loved my tears ricochet too! it was such a powerful moment of the show, imo. like a lowkey version of who’s afraid of little old me? before ttpd came out. the purple folklore dress was gorgeous! i think it fit with the cozy forest vibes of the era. and yes, the lover bodysuits are so iconic. which one do you like more? same question for the midnights bodysuits. mine are the purple lover bodysuit and the navy/dark blue midnights bodysuit. but my top choice is 100% the pink speak now dress. i miss it everyday

hello!! yes nocturnal animals does have a movie adaptation! i have read it and i did think it was amazing so i do want to watch the movie!
yeah our book club has been going for like 5-ish months now? each of us suggested any book we wanted and we've been going through them picking at random! this month we read a language of limbs by dylin hardcastle, the month before was blue sisters by coco mellors and then we've also read prophet song, piranesi and the hating game/second first impressions (we read those together in the same month). so it's a really wide range of things haha, i like it though because it's a good excuse to get together and it makes me pick up books that i otherwise wouldn't!
i think the pink + blue is just sooo iconic, so that's my fave! and honestly i really like pretty much all the midnights bodysuits so idk if i have a fave! and ohh yes the pink sn dress is soo beautiful!
