Nike SB Dunk High: All you need to know about the “New York Mets” inspired sneakers
Drawing inspiration from the New York Mets logo, the sneakers can be seen glazing around the Swoosh logo, which is blue and orange in color.
Alongside the team’s signature color combination, the Swoosh branding is prominently visible on the tongue tab, the sockliner, and the main lateral Swoosh is stitched with an outline which resembles jersey patches.
Furthermore, building its connection with the baseball team, the right sneaker possesses a red apple with the Mets skyline logo which reads “Home Run” to represent the home stadium’s giant apple that appears when a player taps all the bases after hitting a no-doubter.
The backside of the tongue showcases a purple circle with number seven embossed in it. This signifies the 7-train connecting Willets Point Blvd. station to both Flushing Main St. and Hudson Yards.
The midsole is capped off with a white sole, whereas the outsole is made of gum-rubber, which motivates the heel with a touch of pink bubblegum hue. A similar detail was also witnessed on the “Phillies” version of Nike SB Dunk High.
The gray base of the shoes is complimented with similar colored laces. On a closer look, the gray padded mesh of Dunk High gives it an appealing look.
Further details of the sneakers are yet to be revealed. The sportswear giant is expected to make an official statement about the shoes in the coming weeks. The pair will most likely be available on Nike’s official website.
In other news, the recently launched Phillies’ inspired SB Dunk Low was designed with light blue color as the base. It was decorated with burgundy hits on the Swoosh branding along with other Nike logos, which were similar to the MLB team’s uniforms from the 1980s.
Apart from this, the brand also introduced limited edition Dunk High “Year of the Tiger” sneakers as a part of its Chinese Lunar Year celebrations.

Early Look at the Skate Like a Girl x Nike SB Dunk Low
In today’s sneaker game, if you aren’t participating in collaborative projects then it can certainly be difficult to garner some recognition. Labels such as Nike SB have mastered this strategy over the years and continue to impress sneakerheads both old and new alike with exciting projects, and the latest to surface onto our radar is this impending Dunk Low team-up with Skate Like a Girl — a nonprofit organization that strives to “create an inclusive community by promoting confidence, leadership, and social justice through skateboarding.”
For the entity’s collaborative offering, it opts to engineer the upper halves with suede panels. Overlays and laces match up as they are both dressed with a wine-like red, while off-white contrasts come through the collars, quarters and toe boxes. Swooshes deviate from their usual leather constructions and instead arrive with pleated textures and rosy red exteriors and the heels have been ornamented with a graphic that depicts two hands that are pulling each other up. Skate Like a Girl’s official logo is found on the tongues with an upside down Swoosh and the insoles have been treated with an array of girl skateboarders in hand-drawn fashion.
No official release date for this pair is known yet, but we’ll likely see these hit the market in the coming months.

An official look at the Nike Dunk Low “Foam Finger” in GS sizing is featured, and as suggested, it celebrates the foam hand or commonly known as a foam finger, a sports paraphernalia item worn on the hand to showcase support for a specific team. Draped in an official mix of “Stadium Green/Old Royal-White-University Red,” the low-top boasts a smooth leather upper that bears the defining foam finger theme in a multicolor all-over print which are nicely offset by green suede overlays. Finally, bold blue Swooshes, red accents on the tongue label and heel followed by rope-style laces, a white midsole and icy translucent outsole solidifies the profile.

UPDATE (8/5): A day after sharing official images of the grade-school version, Nike now shares official images of the adult-sized version of the Nike Dunk Low Foam Finger. For the most part, both the GS and adult pairs are identical, with the only noticeable differences being the amount of texture used on the suede overlays, and the darkness of the icy translucent outsole.

Release Date: May 10
Price: $125
Buy: Nike SNKRS and select retailers
What We’re Saying: Daniel Kim’s skate brand Stingwater is crossing over into the world of footwear, teaming up with Nike SB to release a collaborative take on the Dunk Low. Following teasers that had previously been circulating online, this week Nike gives us an official look at the co-branded effort, which is scheduled to arrive on May 10.
The Stingwater x Nike SB Dunk Low is a psychedelic affair inspired by mind-altering fungi, which is where the collaboration gets its name, "Magic Mushroom." Predominantly done up in University Red, the sneaker is then detailed with safari print overlays that reference the top of a mushroom, while the inner lining mimics the gill of the fungus.
Known for its playful graphics, Stingwater has applied unconventional branding to the side of the Dunks, just above a jeweled Swoosh. On the heels you will find "NIKE" branding embroidered in reverse. The phrase "empty your mind" is stitched behind the tongue as a reminder to search for new perspective, marking the hidden zip pocket that is also implemented on the tongue.
With the Stingwater x Nike SB Dunk Low Magic Mushroom releasing on May 10, you can bide your time by browsing the best Nike Dunks for under $200 here.
