Read the fine print
Rental agent:"Ok, sir. Do you understand everything that has been said and you raid the Terms and conditions?"
Tom:"Yeah. I did and yes." Tom signed the contract from rental company, thinking that no one ever ready Terms and conditions.
Rental agent:"Well, now that everything is settled. Let's take a photo of you so that we have everything complete"
Tom:"You put owner photos on the add with the vehicle"
Agent looking confused:"Well in cases like yours it's pretty standard so that the customers know who to look for. Ok, sit over there and smile for me"
"This was strange, but necessary." Tom thought to himself. He had recently some financial problems that forced him to do something extra to earn more money. While out with friends, he confessed his problems and they gave him a contact for this company. Saying that he can rent out a room in his house or his motorcycle.
Tom didn't really want anybody else in his house or even riding his prescious Ducati. But if he would ever sort this financial situation early, than this would be the easiest solution
Tom received the adress from the rental company where he was supposed to meet the first client renting his motorcycle
Tom waited at the spot. A very old man approached him:"Ahhhh, good day, sir. You must be Tom". Tom looked at him from top to bottom. This old man wanted to ride his motorcycle? What was the company thinking? What of he crashes somewhere? He won't be able to life the vehicle back up. Or himself. There was no way he would let this happen
"I'm sorry but this must be some kind of mistake" Tom said
The man:"Oh no, I am sure I found the right man. I have your photo from the company and photo of your motorcycle"
Tom:"Not to be rude, but are you sure you'll be able to drive it? You look... a bit fragile."
The man:"Oh, boy. Then why do you think I picked you?"
Tom;"Sir, I am not a taxi nor a tour guide to drive everyone in the city"
The man:"I wouldn't expect you to do that. But I am sure that I will be able to handle that with your strength and your ability to drive it"
Tom:"With my strength? What are you on about?"
The man:"Haha, boy. Now you sound like a senile old man. And I am 93. I have the right to sound like one"
Tom:"Yeah. Anyway. You can call the rental company and they will give you your money back. I am sure. I'll call them that they wanted to rent out the vehicle to someone... incapable and they will find you a different ride to enjoy"
The man:"Dear boy, I don't think you read your contract. Did you?"
Tom:"What makes you say that?"
The man:"You rented out your motorcycle and your body along with it"
Tom was in shock. Did the man really meant what he was saying or was it again just another bunch of crap? Tom decided he wasn't interested in finding out and decided to leave
But as soon as he turned around he felt a sharp pain on his back. Something was trying to get in. To everyone else on the street it must have been a normal second of time. But for Tom it felt like it took an hour just to move. Yet, he couldn't move anymore. He could still feel, hear and see. But he couldn't move an inch of his body. His body now moved on its own. Tom started panicking.
His body looked at his hands and arms. It patted his abs and then groped his bulge.
"What's happening?"
The man:"Oh you can't be mad at me, Tom. I haven't been this young in over half a century. I was really looking forward to it"
Tom:"What? How are you doing this?"
The man:"As I said. I bought the experience from the rental company. I get to have your body and your Ducati. Can you imagine my old body riding that thing?"
Tom"This is mental. This isn't happening"
The man:"I assure you it is. You should read the fine print, my boy."
The man now walking with Tom's body sat on the motorcycle and looked at himself in the mirror.
Now speaking directly to his reflection
"Look, Tom. I really don't want to cause you any trouble. I am too old to do much in my body, but now in yours I can do so much. And I heard from the company that you were really willing to rent so I suspect you have some financial problems. I can help with that"
Tom:"How?"
The man:"I can give you my body's money. All of it"
Tom:"Why would you do that?"
The man:"Because I want them to be put to good use. And I know you will use them right "
Tom:"what's the catch?"
The man:"Keep me in your body and let me have the driving seat from time to time. I want to be young like you again. I don't want to steal your life and I'm not ready to die yet. Therefore this is the best option for me:
Tom:"So that would mean you would be everywhere with me? Seeing and feeling everything as me?"
The man:"Yes. But we can swap who is in the back of your mind and who is driving. Haha. I'll be like your second inner voice"
Tom thought about it, bit couldn't make up his mind. It didn't sound that bad. He could use the money and also help an old man to enjoy a part of his life. And if that meant he would have to share a bit of his time and body, then that wasn't so bad.
Tom:"I'll have to think about it. I still don't know you. And also please put a hand to your ear so that people think I'm calling someone. They are looking weird at me talking to myself"
The man smiled and immediately put a hand to his ear:"Oh where are my manners. I am Nicholas Connor. I have had a fee wives but no children. I was a director of a big company, which gave me enough money to enjoy life. But I still want to keep on enjoying it"
Tom:"Nice to meet you Nicholas. Do you mind driving us to my... our appartement?"
Nicholas:"Right on, chap"
Tom's body started inspecting the Ducati. Nicholas put on his new helmet and stretched out his arms in the jacket
Nicholas:"Oh this feels nice"
His muscle memory knew what to do and how to drive. Tom was still impressed how the body possession went and how was Nicholas actually doing good as Tom
Nicholas arrived in front of Tom's appartement building
Nicholas:"You live quite far from the city centre, Tom. Must be hard always driving so far"
Tom:"I enjoy driving, but yeah. It's costly. But not as much as paying rent in the city centre"
Nicholas entered Tom's appartement. It was small and messy, but suitable to a man like Tom
Nicholas:"I'm not saying anything mean. But you know It could look better"
Tom:"Yeah I know. I was... busy"
Nicholas started undressing
Tom:"What are you doing?"
Nicholas took off every piece of clothing throwing it on the ground. "Tom, I am old. Being in this young body makes me want to inspect it. Enjoy the youth. I'm sure you understand"
Nicholas looked over his body in the mirror. Then started laughing
Tom felt insecure:"I know I'm not one of the biggest. By my dick is not a joke"
Nicholas:"Oh its not that, Tom. Your penis is amazing. I just haven't had an erection in years. I think you and I are gonna have a lot of fun"
Few months later. Tom's body was walking down the street
Tom's body speaking:"Yeah, but this time you're cooking. I cooked last night and you hated it. So now it's your turn. Yeah right. After all that you still want more?"
He went swiftly to the company building that previously belonged to Nicholas
"And what are we gonna do tonight? Oh yeah? That sounds great. But not if you rush things like always. Haha. I never finished so fast before"
A security guard noticed Tom's body entering the building and rapidly opened the door:"Good morning, sir"
Tom's body:"Good morning"
Tom's body to phone:"Look, you know I can't keep on saying more stuff like this. I know it makes us hard and you like it, but I'm at work now. Yes we will go on a ride this afternoon. I know how horny that makes us."
"Now? But I just arrived. Fine."
Storming out from the parking lot was Tom's body in a suit speeding on the street away from the building, smiling and laughing.
Tom's body:"We're hard already? Well the ride should be fun"
Tom and Nicholas were now one being. Constantly switching who was controlling the body, but treating the other one as an equal part of the body and as a best friend
The security guard smiled as he saw the new young owner of the building driving away, enjoying life.
A message request and an inbox request from @
Tom was going through some financial problems and his best friend advised him that maybe he could rent a room in his house, or even rent his Ducati, that would make him a lot of money. But Tom didn't check properly what the rental company did, and he didn't realize that he was not only renting his Ducati, but his body as well. That's why he was surprised when he went to the place where he had met the client and saw that the man was at least 90 years old, but it was too late to back out.

Vale’s opinion on Pedro via SkyItalia
Meda: I wanted to hear your opinion on Acosta. He had a bestial start to the season, has a tightrope riding style, aggressive, courageous and takes crazy trajectories. But now he is a little more normal, I wonder from your point of view why?
Vale: Because KTM seems to me to be in quite a bit of trouble this year. And it’s in worse trouble than last year compared to Ducati and it’s also in trouble with riders with great experience on that bike like Binder, so for a rookie it’s not easy.
He arrived full of energy, rightly so, but then he started to take some big hits, various and severe. Like the one at turn 7 in Jerez, falling there is scary because the wall comes close to you and with the MotoGP bikes you feel the impact more.
So that’s another thing, you hurt yourself more, and so this slowly made him calm down a bit. However, in my opinion he remains a super strong rider and if KTM manages to be closer to Ducati as it was last year, in my opinion he will be one of the strongest ones.

thinking about that ranch visit again…. obvs marc rocking up with honda mechanics is such a major part of it. like i think that was a big factor in vale shifting marc in his brain from friend :) to—> sort of friend who is a ruthless competitor to—-> snake trying to sabatoge me to—> evilest motorcycle racer who ever lived.
idk vale cultivates the ranch as such a place of community and fun that is crucially far away from the press and like. the ruthless professional circus of the paddock. like marc is visiting his private little area here, and he kind of encroaches on the fundamental philosophical idea of it by bringing his mechanics. it becomes a professional arena of competition then, in a way it wasn’t entirely before. like to valentino i think marc is the one that shifted their relationship here.
and i’m not being naive and thinking there wasn’t already some degree of professional scoping out wrt to riding style and decision making, ofc. vale is a savvy dude who would use the experience and learn about marc as a competitor any way he can (and oh my god vice versa). he loves to win just as bad as marc does. they BOTH went ham trying to win that day he’s right there with him.
i’m also not saying marc was in the wrong!! in his brain of course he’s gonna bring his mechanics, he wants to win!! he can’t even work out without a competitive incentive it’s a huge part of like. the foundational makeup of his being. so he doesn’t notice anything that would raise a red flag in terms of vale being unhappy about it or transgressing on his climate of relaxed fun bc in his mind it’s normal! why wouldn’t he try as hard as he can! his mechanics help him do that! and valentino is a charming guy who is generally pretty friendly. hell, he’ll stab you with a smile, so marc doesn’t notice much in the way of tension at the time, probably. or, at least he can brush it off.
BUT! it’s notable that the way marc has narrativized the breakup to himself starts at the ranch. he says our relationship changed THERE. even now he conceptualizes it as i beat vale at the ranch bc i was better than him and our relationship changed bc he couldn’t handle it. and i’m sure there is a factor of valentino sensing the sun setting of his era and the rise of marc’s here. but i also think he saw marc as deliberately orienting himself as a serious, direct competitor to vale in a way he wasn’t before. so he pulls back a little. you wanna be my competitor? we can fucking do that.
so going into the season some narratives are forming in valentino’s brain here, and then they have a bunch of races where they always seem to tussle on the track — they make contact a LOT— and i think to vale those narratives are unfortunately being confirmed. vale voice that twunk wants me dead.
ON TOP OF ALL THIS and maybe most crucially: the title fight heats up and vale is WAY more insecure about it than he’s ever been in his entire competitive career. he’s older, he’s had some dogshit years at ducati so he’s not bullletproof anymore, he’s had to actually start going to the gym (he committed corporate espionage on jorge lorenzo to find out how he trains LMAO), and this punk kid who idolizes him is apparently the second coming of motorcycle christ. he used to be motorcycle christ. and!! i think he knows he can exert some real power over marc by spinning all of this to the media and making marc the bad guy.
so in vale’s head. he can take marc down a peg and shift some blame away from the way he’s potentially flopping AND do some personal mythmaking. reassert his status as motorcycle christ. and to his credit it pretty much works!! but GOD. poor marc got blindsided. like it’s so so mean. so mean.
#anyways this is very long… but i was trying to make sense of the valentino’s bananas left turn wrt marc#and it think that ranch visit really is the linchpin#callie speaks#motogp#long post#clocking in to the psychoanalyizing professional athletes factory#rosquez#psychoanalysis

Biker AU x CoDMWII:
John “Soap” Mactavish rides a Yamaha YZF R6 from 2018. It has 600 cc, 123 BHP, 0 to 60 mph in 3,4 seconds.
Simon “Ghost” Riley rides a Honda CBR1000 from 2020. It has 1000 cc, 214,6 BHP, 0 to 60 mph in 2,6 seconds.
Kim “Horangi” Hong-Jin rides a Suzuki GSX-R750 from 2017. It has 750 cc, 150 BHP, 0 to 60 mph in 2,9 seconds.
König rides a Ducati Streetfighter V4 S from 2021. It has 1100 cc, 208 BHP, 0 to 60 in 3,2 seconds.
Kyle “Gaz” Garrick rides a Kawasaki Ninja H2 from 2015. It has 998 cc, 228 BHP, 0 to 60 mph in 2,6 seconds.
König has the biggest bike when it comes to size, but technically, Gaz has the highest brute horse-power. All of them own flip up numbers plates, Soap is the more aggressive driver of the gang (not because he has the "smallest" bike, not at all), whereas König is the more reckless driver (something about speed and anxiety).
Ghost usually chills around, but when riding in formation, he'll be in the front. Ghost is actually the one with most experience - Gaz is the newer member in the bike gang. Gaz learned first how to do the kickstand turn and taught the others.
Horangi knows how to both wheelie and breakie, Soap is an expert wheelier, Gaz has never attempted a wheelie, and König just cruises along on the rides.

This Pecco-Alex thingy has kinda reminded me of when that Italian (?) journalist said it was Marc's fault that Jason, Hugo and Dean had died in 2021 and it makes me maaad. The hate they both get is ridiculous and they fact that there are death threats being sent their way while we have 2 races and a test there doesn't make me happy at all. Do I thing anyone would be crazy to do anything? I surely hope not, but then again you can't predict what crazy people will do. According to some journalist there is already an anti-marquez sector at Ducati planting things for the press (how believable is this, I don't know, but considering people are saying Aragón was rigged for Marc to win...)
I think I'm here in the side that Pecco had every right to be upset after his race was ruined BUT should have dealt with it better and measured his words and that Alex (if everything happened as it has been told) shouldn't have told Pecco to fuck off and instead explain that he preferred to talk when they both had calmed down AND in private.
But the way this all goes back to 2018,really. Because yeah, Marc hasn't been the cleanest always and he has done unsportsmanlike and questionable shit, but Alex has always been pretty clean and level-haded and it's not fair that the way people view Marc paints the way they view Alex. It upsets me when people say he only got his ride because of Marc, forgetting that he has more championships that half the grid (the only ones who have more are Pecco and Marc, while Pedro, Zarco and Joan also have 2 and the other ones either have one or have none).
Hi there anon 👋👋👋👋
Yes I remember that, the Marc being responsible for those death, and honestly I thought it was just anti-Marc shite. True that Marc IS a very aggressive rider, but so does Brad and Pedro. Even Vale was an aggressive rider, so you can't just blame 1 rider. The blame is on the system that 1) allowed riders that young come through the ladder, and fortunately got 2 years delay now (although for like 2 years allowed very unprepared riders to go straight to Moto3 to avoid having to wait 2 years (re: David Muñoz to say one) and 2) a system where no penalty was really applied for those behaviors. In some ways it was even rewarded with media content for the fans.
About the anti-Márquez, I'm truly sad for Álex. He did nothing to deserve this except be Marc's brother. He didn't deserve it in 2015, and he doesn't deserve it now. I'm very sure that if it had been any other rider except Álex and Marc, Pecco wouldn't have said that, because as much as he seems okay with Marc as his teammate next year, he hates it. He hates it because it's Marc, so he has to play nice, but he also wants to show who is in control of the game, and honestly if Pecco is doing this now, it shows how afraid he is. Also MArc will eat him alive. Marc is like a beast, in the moment he's cornered he shows his worst-self, and now that he has the experience of 2015, Pecco is nothing.
Also Ducati rigged it for Marc? Bullshit. Marc was untouchable. No other Ducati could get close to him, and if was something rigged, they would had been closer. Also Acosta was there too, which means it was more dependent on rider stuff than bike itself (also note that when the bike is not as an important factor some Ducatis just disappear).
Okay Pecco's race wasn't ruined, he ruined it himself since Friday. Pecco cut that line that way (which he's entittled to do, but it was irresponsable and dirty racing) because he was frustrated. He was just a kid throwing a tantrum because he didn't get what he wanted. So he acted entittled Ulike always) and drove in a dangerous way. They made contact, which is what made Álex lose the bike, the one that could have prevented that first contact was Pecco, but then he keep going and cut even more the like. If Álex hadn't lost the bike, by trajectories, they would had crashed. Pecco like always expected that another rider moved away to give him the space. And this is something I hate. The more closer to the 1st MotoGP tittle the more entitle he got and now he believes no one can touch him or race him. He had a bad Friday, and when that happens he gest lost in his mind, starts blaming everyone and then does rookies mistakes and blames everyone and their mother, and the worst part is that he never learns.
He's right to be upset, but he wasn't. Pecco is a master manipulator. He took the time, and choose to blame Álex, who honestly is one of the cleanest riders. He choose Álex because he can't go after Marc because he has Ducati protection, but not Álex. He choose Álex because this way he would hurt Marc. He's trying to play 5-D chest with Marc, and unfortunately Álex is just a pawn in his game.
Anon I don't now what you heard, but they did talk. And Álex didn't talk with the media after he talked with Pecco (at least to the Spanish media). Pecco is the one who jumped the gun, like always, to control the narrative (at this rate it seems I'm a Pecco anti, but this guy is fucking annoying and the media and some people eat from his hand).
This doesn't go just to 2018. This goes back to 2015. Do you really think that Vale is happy to have a protegée paired against Marc. No he doesn't, but he doesn't have the control over Ducati. They are trying, with those pathetic games. Pecco pretending to be welcoming, but endarrerint what matters to Marc. Also Marc isn't the only one. Aleix hasn't always been clean, or Vale. Pecco either, but he pretends to be.

my opinion on which Bad Batcher (+ Cody and Rex) would have which motorcycle for a modern-ish AU (It's like.. if our world was in the universe of SW but with the rules of SW if that makes sense) I'm working on and just in general to practice characterization hehe
headcanons included ofc!
sadly couldn't add Echo cause uhm... well he still has a scomp link arm 💀
Hunter:
Yamaha MT-09
or
Indian Bobber Scout 60
Not too speedy and not too slow
Great for small road trips
Not much of a racer
Safest rider out of them all
Does have a mischievous side where he wants to race or go faster on curves sometimes
Doesn't mind either rides alone or with his brothers
The responsible one
Crosshair:
Kawasaki Ninja H2
I'm fast asf boiiii
The half reckless half serious one
Like he's reckless but only when he can be safely
The H2 has a very powerful and reactive engine, making it a little difficult to control and requires some skill to do so which I think Cross would find pride in
It's all about ego bois
He loves small roads with a lot of curves
Mostly out with Tech and races with him
The bike looks aggressive and powerful, not like Cross does physically LOLOLOL
Has the most experience in riding bikes out of all of them
Goes zoom whenever he feels like it
His bros call those the "Cross zoomies"
The kill-switch and run master
Tech:
Triumph Street Triple 1200 RS
I forgot that bro is a pilot
That bike can allow him to be as experimental as he wants to
Yes he willingly races Cross
And if he lost... no he didn't
Holds the record for the most heart attacks given to Hunter in the span of 1 minute
He knows he can get himself out of tricky situations faster than the average can so he allows himself to be more reckless than the others
The one who forgets he can go ride out alone or doesn't see the point in it so he has to wait until Cross asks him to go for a ride
Loves to customize his bike, be it just appearance or performance speaking
Wrecker:
Ducati Monster 821
The only one besides Hunter who is allowed to have Omega on his passenger seat
Listens to Hunter when he tells him he shouldn't try to follow Tech or Cross (bless him)
Sometimes he gets the pass to just go wild but only when the roads are empty
Omega likes to ride with Wrecker because He's more exciting than Hunter but not as reckless as the 2 other dumbasses
Whenever they're all out on a ride, Hunter is grateful Wrecker is there
Also Wrecker is the one who manages to convince Hunter into a small race even if it's just the smallest
Rex:
YAMAHA YZF R6
Still fast as fuq bOIIII
Nah man the r6 is the perfect bike for the shenanigans Rex would do with the other bois of the 501st
He just screams r6 idk why like I looked at his pictures and instantly went "r6"
.... ok maybe it's the colour-
Cody:
Yamaha MT-07
Another MT??
Yes, MT's are notorious
Cody doesn't need much so that Yamaha is perfect
Probably switched to an MT-10 to be able to keep up with the others (Rex, Tech, Crosshair and Fives) and to be more comfortable riding in general
The supervisor(tm)
Helps Hunter keep sane
Pretty chill rider, sometimes follows the others in their shenanigans if convinced long enough
I can't add the pictures of the bikes I'm SADDDD
what do you guys think abt this tho?? I'd love feedback bc I can't tell if I'm characterising them wrong or not
and like ik most people dont care abt bikes at all or have only seen the dark side of it which.. yeah that's 100% valid 😭
also yes, as an x reader they will have you on the back 😋
or even maybe ride next to them to hold your hand 👀

The Amnesiac : ep12
Steve McQueen And A Motorcycle Called "The Monster"
Any reasonably sensible man should, at a time like this, get a doctor’s note, call both HR and his boss to explain the situation thoroughly and then grovel shamelessly, begging for his job back. It’s a solid tactic, and I wouldn’t fault any man for doing it. But you have to ask yourself if that’s what Steve McQueen would do in a situation like this. Grovel? Surely you jest. Spend the afternoon looking out from behind the visor of a motorcycle helmet, trying to sort out what’s happening in his life? Very Steve.
The bump on my forehead announces its presence with authority as the motorcycle helmet slips down past my ears. Pain be damned, I’m going to ride. I’m certain it will help me understand this episode of amnesia, so I plunge the Ducati starter button and listen to the two big cylinders rumble to life. Nothing sounds like a Ducati, especially a vintage Ducati like mine. In 1992, following a decade where everything was either synthetic, digital, or plastic, Ducati hired designer Miguel Galluzzi to create a motorcycle that was simple, masculine, high performance, easy to manufacture and fun to ride. The Monster was born. Lacking the plastic fairings that were de rigueur for the day, the Monster used the engine as a stressed member of the chassis and connected the front end of the bike with a gorgeous, welded metal trellis.
What was initially intended to be a design study was an instant hit and has become a perennial best seller. Every time I swing a leg over the saddle, I tell myself “this is what Steve would have ridden.” A pure racing machine has ergonomics similar to the rack used to quarter Sir William Wallace. But the Monster, the Monster is your dance partner. The Rita Hayworth to your inner Fred Astaire. Comfortable, fast, exciting, sexy … dangerous. The dance is so delicate that one blink, one wrong move and you’re stardust.
The motorcycle helmet is the original virtual reality headset … a completely immersive 3D experience that overwhelms the senses and pushes your brain into what psychologists call “flow state.” Time warps into slow motion. Arms and legs seem to operate independently from your own mind and you can watch your limbs in wonder and admire how deftly they operate the controls of the bike, at 100 miles per hour, all while deeply contemplating other areas of your life.
I’m hoping that the flow state will trigger some memories in my brain as I hurl myself south along the treacherously twisty cliffside Pacific Coast Highway through Big Sur. But it doesn’t work. Instead, I do an analysis of my work situation and decide to send a short email to my boss and HR explaining to them that I accept the termination, and wish them the best of luck in the future. Seeing that, my boss will certainly reach out personally, and I’ll explain the situation then. But, I don’t want a job right now. I just want to know where the hell I’ve been for the past month.
With that decided, I endeavor to just enjoy the remainder of my motorcycle ride. And I do.

New Black on Black Livery for the Panigale V2
New Black on Black Livery for the Panigale V2: when boldness meets performance. A refined combination of sportiness and elegance, the Panigale V2 moto compact transmits power at first sight. The super sports bike from Borgo Panigale is ready to give track riding enthusiasts unique emotions, thanks to its high performance, the result of intense research by Ducati technicians. The Panigale V2, characterised by compact and muscular lines, is equipped with sophisticated electronics, designed to let the rider exploit its performance in total safety. The true sports bike DNA is also confirmed by the new standard Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres.
For 2024, Ducati updates the colour range of the Panigale V2 with a new Black on Black Livery, which accompanies the classic Ducati Red. The new livery enhances the bold character of the Panigale V2. The predominance of dark matt grey is intercut with the presence of glossy black elements, for a refined final combination. The livery is completed by the Panigale V2 logo and the red details on the tank, fairings and wheels. Another new feature introduced by the Black on Black Livery is the saddle, with renewed graphics and materials. The Panigale V2 is a muscular but compact bike, with essential design and decisive profiles which transmit power without losing the typical elegance of Ducati sports bikes. The surfaces of the bike, tailored around the Monocoque frame, highlight the shapes of the Superquadro twin-cylinder, while the front is dominated by the two air intakes that integrate the full-LED headlamp. The "double layer" fairing - which sees a main fairing extending upwards to ideally embrace the tank and a secondary one with the function of an air extractor - offers the typical essentiality of Ducati sports bikes, emphasising elegance and uniqueness.
A sporty style that integrates fully with the power expressed by the Panigale V2 engine, the 955 cc Superquadro twin-cylinder. Euro 5 approved, the Superquadro is as enjoyable to ride on the road as it is powerful and responsive on the track, with its 155 hp at 10,750 rpm and a torque value of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. Safety and total bike control are always guaranteed by the electronic equipment of the Panigale V2, based on the use of the 6-axis inertial platform. The electronic package includes ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2 and finally Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, which helps the rider to optimise the stability of his or her Ducati in extreme cornering conditions. Together with the celebratory Panigale V2 Bayliss, the Panigale V2 is the only twin-cylinder in Ducati's Panigale range. Every Ducatista can make their Panigale V2 unique thanks to a wide range of accessories in the "Configurator" section of the Ducati.com website, where all the components of the Sport package are available, designed to enhance the racing spirit of the bike. An entire line of Ducati's 2023 apparel collection is dedicated to the rider, including the Ducati Corse C6 suit and the top-of-the-range Ducati Corse V6 helmet among the new models, all available on the shop Shop.Ducati.com website.

first of alla I wanted to say thank you for your job, it’s super useful, you’re doing the lord’s work fr. if you feel like answering I wanted to ask you who are the riders of the current grid that you like the most? and why?
cheers!!
eh I think I'm in quite a happy place in the sport actually where... I do broadly like most of the riders. this isn't really like me, actually, I'm very capable of being a hater trust me. in my main sport, I've gotten to a fun place where with one of the genders I just. hate everyone who ever wins anything. except one guy but that's really an awful fan experience, wouldn't recommend. I don't really know why I'm more kindly disposed towards the motogp grid. maybe it's something about how dangerous the sport is, maybe how they are generally quite interesting as people (far from guaranteed in athletes), maybe it's because they're generally flops or assholes or both (nothing worse in a sport than when the goats are dull as shit). also, so many online fan spaces have been dominated by valentino fans and marc fans ceaselessly bickering - and as someone who is pretty fond of them both, does just eventually make you quite bored of all that stuff
that being said! I obviously do have a few preferences. the first one is marc, who I've gone through several different stages of being a fan of. I never really got stressed about him during his prime because I'm just not really the type of person who can get that invested when someone's winning that much. like I'm invested in the narratives but I'm not gonna pretend I care that much if someone can secure their fiftieth victory of the season lol. now he's the only one who can fuck up my heart rate during races so go figure, really. (undeniably my fan experience with him has massively been affected by the injury... I realised it most strongly with indonesia 2022, which just made me feel sick of the sport for a while.) I like him because he's kind of awful... inconsiderate, ruthless, too committed to winning for his own good. shameless. he's very narratively engaging, got a lot going on in that department, and it's not just... easy winning, like idk I'm not really the type to enjoy nice and happy athletes winning a lot and then being nice and happy about it. marc would like to be liked, but he wants to win more, y'know? he's got enough weird stuff going on in his head that he allows me to take the next step from just 'normal sports fan' to 'ride or die'. whenever he does any mind games-y stuff it's good fun, plus he's got this valentino-esque perma-smile that gives you a fun contrast/companion to the ruthlessness. also one half of one of the true all time great rivalries, what a banger entry to the canon. AND most importantly the actual riding, I think him on the honda is only really second to some of casey's ducati riding as stuff that's got that... 'this doesn't look like it should be working but it is' vibe in quite a visceral way? I'm not super into quali laps, I think they can be fun but they're not really what *get* me about the sport, but some of those signature laps like cota 2015 and brno 2019 just are soooo good to watch. and the racing itself... idk it's also fun when you've got such a distinctive style because it automatically makes you so much fun to plug into match-ups with other riders where there'll be a lot of contrast, like you really got that with valentino + jorge and then later dovi, rinsy, fabio, pecco... just makes it really easy even as someone who can't ride a bike to SEE and feel the differences. plus, sue me, I like my racing with overtaking, he actually overtakes other riders. makes races better with his presence, like there's Certain Riders who can spend a whole race in p6 but you can USUALLY trust him to do something
so the next picks are gonna make me sound like. an insane glory hunter. genuinely awful levels of glory hunting here. but I just want to say for the record that this isn't representative of how I usually approach sports and it was completely accidental that it turned out the way it did. I got really fond of the 2019 crop of rookies (minus one of them) because it was like. oh they're actually quite promising. pecco had that super promising pre-season testing (obvs also right after the moto2 title) and every race I was like This Will Be The Time when he puts it all together and he just kept. not. so at a certain point I was kinda convinced he was a loser but stuck with it for the bit? pecco #believer but as a joke. (I was also an early investor in the 'wouldn't it be funny if marc had a rivalry with an academy rider' campaign so kept a close eye on both him and franky, but in all honesty I never thought any of these guys would be a serious threat to marc.) with fabio, I hadn't really followed him closely enough to know the reasons why his lower class results were so mid? so it was very much a surprise when he started fighting marc lol, and then misano 2019 weekend just made me crazy, the whole thing was *so* good. and then sepang I just went? yeah we can build something here. we can build something special. (narrator: we did not build something special.) with joan, you know how it's kinda fun to have a midfield-y team to root for where a lot of the times they're mid and then sometimes something special occasionally happens and you can feel proud of them for fighting with the big boys? well that was suzuki for me, fond of rinsy especially when he got snippy at marc, thought the 2019 rookie they'd picked up was sweet too and he had a great start to his rookie season. and his first podium was cool!! and when he should've won styria 2020 :// (I think? this was the red-flagged one where he didn't have tyres anymore afterwards) (admittedly 'race in austria during 2020 that was red-flagged' doesn't narrow it down as much as you'd think but) also I went all in for him when everyone was extremely mean about his 2020 title, like that's MY underdog world champ. I wanted him to win the title without winning a single race, actually!! (generally quite defensive of all the champs in marc's absence, like god forbid they haven't cleared the hurdles you people have made up in your heads)
anyway as to why I stuck with them... with pecco it's how fucking whiny he gets. the start of 2022 where he was just :( I may have crashed myself and another ducati rider out of this race but why is ducati making me test stuff :( what a twat!! but crucially getting ducati to apologise to him is still as far as I'm concerned one of the funniest things anyone has done recently. ducati!! apologised to him!! DUCATI! after he publicly bitched about them! bonkers. anyway he's introverted verging on shy and then also capable of such arrogance and hubris and sheer entitlement!! that early 2022 after being the title favourite was so??? he's such good fun, the dramatic failures followed by him doing something crazy and you just go. okay but why. why did you not do this earlier. you know indonesia last year where he'd fucked up his whole weekend until the race and jorge martin should have run away with it but then he crashed and pecco won from thirteenth and he went all hammy with the celebrations? SILENCED THE DOUBTERS why were you in pee thirteen in the first place you absolute weapon. he's stuck in his own head so much, which you can get really juicy stuff out of imo. plus I like smart racers.... even though he does have these howlers, he's just so obviously clever in his approach? as a competitor he's easy for me to get invested in, because whenever he goes into a year as the favourite and clicks the bit of my brain that hates dominance, he has SUCH a horrendously messy early season that I remember why I was so fond of him and can enjoy when he's winning. also he's got a fun skill set, I love what a good defensive rider he is, just quite watchable idk... I'm not super into being a good starter as a skill generally but I've really enjoyed how he's muscled himself to the front of the field, he's so ruthless and neat how he just knows exactly where he needs to put his bike to basically suffocate the competition right at the start? plus obviously he's such a different profile of champion than what we've gotten historically, which maybe makes me rate him even more highly than I otherwise would. also academy rider, inherently narratively fun. when valentino said this???
hilarious. he's not WRONG but also just incredibly funny. valentino rossi can we have an honest conversation about your proteges I need to get your thoughts on some things
(that being said, when he says pecco has nothing to prove during the impending marc teammate stint, that pecco's already earned his three titles, he's 100% correct. one of the most based things he's ever come out with, quite frankly)
fabio... idk something about that depressed frenchie... watching that child endure successive brutal last lap losses, that's what it's all about. I was hugely endeared by the 2020 campaign (even in the absence of the rivalry I'd been promised) and the self sabotage of it all, how he got himself a psychologist during the off-season and had to adjust his approach, cut out the tantrums... I'm a sucker for an athlete who figures out how to improve themselves, y'know? his actual title campaign is... well, I'm happy for him, but it's also kinda a weird season (without being as fully bonkers as 2020) - but 2022? his first half was very 'fabio quartararo domination may bore fans' (admittedly a style of domination very low on wins) but oh yeah what happened next was awful to watch, just kind of extremely elongated hell once you realised 'oh this might actually be happening'. incredibly cruel!! handled that situation with ridiculous amounts of dignity. then he got very stroppy at various parts last year which was also deeply endearing. he's not... he's kinda missing a mean streak, but he's still prone to misery and tearing himself apart, enough that he kinda does it for me? he's also just sweet, you kind of feel like yamaha insisting on building awful bikes is a bit like kicking a puppy? yamaha's also sort of my team and he's trying to make them not flop. so. am just long-term invested in that development work, how he was the only one who could really do something special with that 2021 bike and how he's now talking about adjusting his riding style to it idk as much as I desperately wish he were actually competitive, there is something cool and engaging about how it's His Project... plus that one time when he tried to hit the golf ball but failed, almost had a stroke I was laughing so much
joan is just. well first of all people are STILL dicks about that title. and good lord has he had a rough time of it. I was so impressed with his 2021 season even though he didn't have that much to show for it... plus when he kept having all these fights with jack miller?? low-key the best drama we got that year. best minor beef of 2020-22...? it's not like we have that much to work with. he has a pitch of voice that's very suited to complaining I feel, like when he's moaning about something going wrong you feel like that's what he's supposed to be doing. 2022-23 has just been a rough watch and not really in a fun way, can't say I'm particularly thrilled he's close to signing again with honda... but ugh idk I'm just so fond of him, he's just a type of guy that's good for the ecosystem. you know that motogp unlimited clip where he's terrified marc is going to eat him and marc just doesn't care?? (I'm gonna be honest, this is my favourite marc teammate relationship... can't even tell you why him interacting with dani leaves me completely cold, but then when I'm seeing how marc's actually occasionally chatting with mir after mostly blanking him when they were actually teammates? oh yeah that's the stuff.) joan has very tragicomic vibes as a guy... he gets sympathetic laughter from the audience. y'know how lucy always pulls away the football from charlie brown... that's his vibe. but he's also a mean girl. anyway I hope he does still get a bit more from his career, he's far better than his record reflects, minus the 2020 title. also I like it when riders race better than they qualify
anyway yeah I like all the current world champs on the grid. gross. on the plus side they're all in completely different bits of the grid now so. I do also like a bunch of other guys, like rinsy (also deserves better, awful time with late suzuki/honda, his late 2022 was really emotional, fun to have someone stand up to marc), aleix (perpetual underdog, temper issues, kinda a moron but in a fun way)... the other academy riders, mainly franky (made 2020 so much better, horrendously clumsy rider at times lol) and bez (loser mindset, weird as fuck about both valentino and marc, great watch as a rider when he's not *gestures*)... uh. quite like pedro, though I still need to see a bit more in the beef department to keep pace with how talented he is? like where's the balance y'know... great to watch as a rider though for sure. martin's title bid last year was nicely compelling, especially stuff like phillip island. he's been put into a lot of Situations I feel? instant rookie success followed by that horrid injury, the stand-off with bastianini for that factory seat, all of last year and this year... all this cockiness married with so much insecurity, the need to be seen and appreciated and not to be taken for granted. the pecco rivalry is fun for them both, plus obviously also a cool riding style. oh I thought diggia as an underdog story was great to follow latter half of last year, though now he's kinda safe I realise I'm less invested. bit all over the place with vinales but at some point you've just been exposed to these guys enough you have a kind of secondhand fondness. yamaha's still my team, tend to root for ktm's downfall which is working out fantastically for me. in moto2 my number one boy is alonso lopez, who may have never made an overtake without knocking into someone in his life and has zero understanding of how to preserve a tyre, but apart from that!! also do quite like a few of the other riders, would basically like to see everyone on a boscoscuro on the motogp grid at some point... the moto3 grid I don't really feel like I know a lot of those kids as well yet, though alonso's obviously quite a watchable racer and veijer is really growing on me, seems pretty clever, curious what he can do on bigger bikes
and that's that!! my current opinions on... actually most of the premier class grid. I really do like most of them! but then also I turned off mugello before the podium because I was so pissed bastianini had gotten back past marc lol so I'm hardly a neutral. but marc's different... he's the only one I've gotten a bit superstitious over the way you sometimes do with athletes. every time before he races, I write down somewhere, either in a note or as a message I send someone, just something along the lines of 'please don't crash' or 'stay safe'. I don't care that much about his results, I just don't want to see him hurt himself any more

i know you have no way of knowing but just as a thought experiment, if they gave him a choice do you think next year marc would bring in frankie w him cause he knows ducatis best or santi because he’s santi?
maybe the most evil saw trap you could possibly conceive for marc lol. like he’s gonna choose whoever gives him the best shot to win, but he’s literally gonna feel like he’s ripping something out of himself with his TEETH either way… new daddy who has experience with ducati machinery and knows marc’s data on a ducati machine, helping him adapt and win on a bike that’s entirely alien to him, allowing him to enjoy riding a motorbike again after four long years of misery… or old daddy that he knows he can win with, that he’s known since he was a CHILD. that’s held him through ups and downs and the winding history of his injury…. that he still sees and is friends with and LOVESSSS. evil choice.

Major manufacturers, including Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki, have been pivotal in shaping the market, continuously innovating and enhancing their offerings to meet the demands of consumers.
Key Drivers of Growth
Rising Popularity of Off-Road Sports: The growth of competitive off-road events such as motocross, enduro, and trail racing has contributed to the increasing demand for dirt bikes. These sports, which attract a wide range of participants and enthusiasts, are a key driver of the market. Additionally, events such as X Games and the FIM Motocross World Championship are gaining more media attention, boosting the visibility and desirability of dirt biking across the globe.
Technological Advancements: Recent innovations in dirt bike design, including the development of electric dirt bikes and improvements in suspension systems, have made these vehicles more appealing to a broader audience. Leading manufacturers like Honda and Yamaha are increasingly focusing on producing models that combine durability with advanced technology, enhancing the overall riding experience.
Market Segmentation:
The dirt bike market can be segmented based on type, propulsion, application, and geography:
By Type: The market is categorized into dual-purpose bikes, motocross bikes, enduro bikes, and trail bikes. Motocross bikes, known for their lightweight and high-performance characteristics, are particularly popular among professional riders.
By Propulsion: Dirt bikes are available in both internal combustion and electric models. While traditionally, fuel-powered bikes have dominated the market, electric models are quickly gaining market share due to their reduced environmental impact.
By Application: The market is divided into commercial and personal use. The commercial segment, which includes bike rentals, sports events, and tourism, is projected to dominate the market, contributing the largest share of revenue by 2031.
Challenges and Opportunities
Environmental Concerns: The dirt bike market faces challenges related to emissions regulations and noise pollution, particularly in more environmentally conscious regions like Europe. However, the growing adoption of electric dirt bikes presents an opportunity for manufacturers to meet regulatory requirements while appealing to a new segment of eco-conscious consumers.
High Initial Costs: The high purchase and maintenance costs of dirt bikes can be a barrier for some consumers, particularly in developing countries. To address this, manufacturers are exploring cost-effective solutions, including offering more affordable models and financing options.
Conclusion
The dirt bike market is on a solid growth trajectory, fueled by rising interest in off-road sports, technological advancements, and expanding markets in developing regions. As manufacturers continue to innovate and address environmental concerns, the market is expected to witness steady growth through 2031. With a wide range of applications and increasing global participation in off-road sports, the dirt bike market presents significant opportunities for both established players and new entrants.
