Admittedly, I am screaming about the concept of Chase’s family surviving because they were Union sympathizers but it feels very… out of left field, I guess?

Like, their son was in the Vanguard (and enlisted from a presumably young age). They clearly loved art and expression, they were a family full of culture and Dri was a performer/streamer. I could believe if they spin it as Roberta joining up because she thought the Vanguard could lose and not wanting to die, but otherwise… I’m not loving it.

I’m also not crazy about the potential of the Polity and Union both being revealed to be evil in their own ways (‘cause it’s pretty clear the Union aren’t actually supposed to be the good guys either, just good at pretending to be). I know it’s a more accurate portrayal of real life wars — more often than not both sides have an agenda, or at least their leaders do — but I really dislike the idea of “we’ve been the bad guys this whole time.”

And while the Polity is very clearly flawed… it feels really hopeless to have them be revealed as evil or malicious.

I mean... We have TWO adorably sassy tech whiz babs in this show. TWO!! They had best not ignore this opportunity.

Day 2 of Daily Genlock Sketches, this one before bed cause I was out at uni and with my partner today and I guess we're opening with the Chase siblings.

Full disclosure I ended up spending an hour and a half on this rather than working on the comic instead cause I really liked where it was going oops. I mean for my first attempt at drawing Dri, I think it came out pretty good :)
