Sinbad x Judar (Judal?) (don't really like judar, their dynamic from fanfictions I've read I don't like either)

Sinbad x Drakon (sorry crunchkind, as teens I can see it, but adults, nah)

AU featuring Drakon and Saher where Drakon remained hot human and lived happily ever after with his wife, Saher. I decided to keep the red cape because I like it plus he keeps wearing one even as a dragon. Manga, Anime or both? BOTH! I started with the Adventures of Sinbad anime on Netflix. Later found out it was a prequel to the Magi series so watched that. When there was no hints at more anime in the works I went to the manga (it was about Slave Arc in SnB and I think Civil War arc as far as fan translations in English were at that time) and followed with it to the end. Still, it was a couple of years after it finished before I joined the fandom when I had time to write again.

Any fandom contributions? More than 1% of the Magi fics on AO3, even though I've only been posting for just over 3 years. Hosted Enja Week. Occasional bad drawings, fan theories, and keychain photography. Roleplaying, mostly as Kouen. Got a few cosplays, but not much reason to use them yet 😿

Anything more to add? Everything relates back to Magi. I used to voice act so I’m particularly fond of comparing the English VAs with other animes for crossover or AU ideas.

I'm rather new to the Magi fandom and I was wondering- what are the main ships, cannon or not? I ship a few different pairings, but what does the fandom ship mostly? Maybe five or ten ships? I'm not sure how many main ones there are...

Hey welcome to the fandom! It’s always nice seeing more people enjoying Magi.

The canon ships are Alimor, Soloshe, Hinahoho and Rurumu, and Drakon x Saher. Sharryamu (Sharrkan and Yamuraiha) is a ship the fandom generally agrees will be canon.

Other popular non canon ships include Alikou (Alibaba and Kougyoku, which I personally ship), Hakumor (another one I ship- Morgiana and Hakuryuu), Juhaku (Judal and Hakuryuu), Jukou, Sinja (Sinbad and Ja'far), and Sinkou.

Magi prompt: silly double date (with any two pairing of your choice).

(Thanks for the request. I think I’m gonna use two of my favourite pairings: Sharryamu and the forever underrated Drakon x Saher).

Drakon wasn’t sure what his wife was up to, but he was sure he didn’t like it. Why she decided to invite those kids in their Sunday date? For as many years as they were married, it had been a sort of a weekly routine for them to go on such dates in order to spend more time together- something that his everyday schedule as a general didn’t allow. But now the precious moments they’d spend together got ruined thanks to the presence of the magician and the swordsman!

Drakon kicked a hypothetical small rock in front of him in frustration and sighed.

“Darling” his wife whispered to him as she linked arms with him “there is no need to be annoyed”.

“Easy for you to say, when all of this has been your plan” he also whispered. The last thing he wanted was his fellow generals to realize how unwanted they were right now.

His wife cracked a small smile as she heard the annoyed tone in his voice, and that make the frown in his face even bigger.

“Think of it as if you are doing them a favor” Saher suggested. “A favor that both of them will thank you for one day”.

A favor…what she was talking about?

He silently questioned her with his eyes.

“Come on Drakon! Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed how they feel for each other!”

Truth to be told, Drakon hadn’t noticed anything like that. He was always minding his own business and kept his nose out of other people’s affairs. Besides, it wasn’t like anything between Sharrkan and Yamuraiha had changed lately. They quarreled almost at daily basis as always and both of them had declared that they didn’t like the other.  That should mean that they didn’t have any special feelings for each other, right?

But then again, Sharrkan had said that he didn’t like Yamuraiha out of frustration when the latter had shown clear favoritism to the magi Yunan who had come to visit Sindria. He sounded almost jealous back then. As for Yamuraiha, her declaration had been once in a Sindria festival where she was drunk as a skunk. She had been bumbling about how unattractive she found herself for quite some time and then she stated how much she didn’t care about Sharrkan’s opinion about her and whether he found her beautiful or not. Now, that he was thinking it over, both statements sounded suspicious.

He glanced over his two friends who were silently following him and his wife. They were walking side by side, both avoiding to look the other in the eye. Yamuraiha looked really elegant today. For a woman who never paid attention to what she wore and never titivated herself she surely had put a lot of effort to her today’s appearance.  Sharrkan on the other hand, looked quite nervous something that was unusual for the always confident man.

The road can lead them to a rocky hillside. At the foot of the hillside laid Sindria’s coast- their destination.

Drakon casually helped his wife to go down, which granted him not only a bright smile but also a kiss.

Sharrkan probably thought this would be a good idea to make his date go smoother to mimic his action, so he offered Yamuraiha his hand.

“Here” he tried to sound as confident as possible. “Let me help you”.

“Are you telling me that I’m not capable of even managing to go down in a hillside?” she shouted offended by his implication. “I’m a general, for Solomon’s sake!”

“No, I’m not saying that!” Sharrkan shouted back trying to defend himself. “I know you are capable of doing it yourself, but still I wanted to help. I thought it was obvious even for an idiot as you”.

“Wait! Did you just call me an idiot?” she asked while she narrowed her eyes.

“I didn’t ‘just call you’ you are an idiot!!”

“Look who is talking now! The idiotic swordsman!” she mocked him and put up her wand as she always did when they were fighting.

“Still better than being an idiotic magician!’’  He yelled, grabbing his sword tightly; a common gesture of his when he was fighting with Yamuraiha.

Suddenly both of them were embraced in another infamous fight. She had a leg over him trying to kick him, and he had his hands on her hair trying to pull it.

Honestly, they were a mess.

Drakon wasn’t sure which one of them lost their footing; and neither did it matter. All it mattered was that both of his friends lost their balance, and were send flying down to the hillside.

His wife next to him was watching them with a horrified expression on her face. She mumbled something about how all of this was her fault since she was the one who invited them, and how terribly sorry she felt for them.

Sharrkan and Yamuraiha finally landed one on top of the other, both unconscious in Sindria’s hot sand. Drakon wasted no time. He went above them and grabbed them from their waists, one with each arm. He was thankful that they were so tiny compared to him, so it wouldn’t be difficult for him to carry them both.

“We better get them to the hospital” he told his wife.

“Y..yeah” she replied still pale as a ghost.

“And honey?” by hearing that Saher turned to face him. “Please no more matchmaking from now on”.

Children: No | Yes | They’d think about it

General Opinion: I really like Drakon x Serendine too, but I find this ship more cute. Though we don’t have so much scene with them, but they’re already natural with each other. Though still one-sided but we know this will be canon. I really like Saher watch not just Serendine, but Drakon too and she support both of them. I’m sure this can be really painful sometimes, but stil she loves them and cares for them. I think later she will be the one, who will be the biggest support for Drakon :)

I'm pretty open to letting people ship what they want. I mean yk it's their comfort ships of two (or more) charas they resonate with and putting those together helps the person find harmony in themselves.

That said, please don't be offended when I list my relatively short Notp list.

❌Aladdin x Kougyoku -- Aladdin triggers me and Kougyoku can do so much better, esp after the Manga is over.

❌Sinbad x Ja'far -- Having been a Ja'far in this kind of relationship is just a headache and I wish Ja'far would treat himself better. (short version)

Now that's out of the way, hopefully we can have fun with the endless list of ships!

✅Kouen x Ja'far -- OTP: EnJa! If these guys had more of a chance in canon to see how much they really have in common and the things they value the other has. What one may see as a flaw, the other admires. Acceptance! {Also, I sometimes use them as self projection of a happy-ace-couple. But other times...they're not ace XD}

✅Spartos x Kougyoku -- A crackship that cropped up in RP that just turned into the darndest thing. Spartos is the knight in shining armor (literally lol) that Kougyoku dreamed of.

✅Ugo x Yamuraiha -- Also cropped up in RP. These two are a flustered mess with each other!

✅Hinahoho x Rurumu -- Ideal couple that sadly got cut short 😭 (also love the fact that Rurumu is taller heehee)

✅Mahad x Parsine -- The cutest little thing. Seeing Mahad turn into a gentle giant.

✅Mystras x Pipirika -- I've got "Rewrite the Stars" from Greatest Showman lined up for them in my "Sindria the Musical"

✅Vittel x Irene -- One of those cute things that cropped up in one of my canon divergences X3c

✅Yunan x Yamuraiha -- Just imagine the magical knowledge they could share!

✅Sinbad x Serendine -- tbh, I did not like Serendine at first. Even if I do love spiders. But she grew on me after she joined the company. When she proposed marriage in Zepar's dungeon is when I considered the ship 👀

✅Drakon x Serendine -- I loved how he'd get flustered around her.

✅Muu x Serendine -- Accidently happened in one of my aus and the thought is just hawt 🥵

✅Drakon x Saher -- I stan this canon couple! (any other ships involving them are what AUs are for, yes I enjoy both realities)

✅Spartos x Koumei -- Wholesome Happy-ace-couple-ness 💞 Mah redhead bois~

✅Kouen x Yamuraiha -- Let them nerd out together 😆

✅Koumei x Yamuraiha -- I'm working on this one. They both lead magical research facilities that merge postcanon
