Just finished rewatching Dragula Titans with my dad and it makes me so happy to see two autistic creatives doing what they do and doing it well (I’m talking about Victoria and Astrud btw. They are the only Dragula castmates that I know of that have ASD.) And on a popular TV show no less.

I’m in a degree for theatre tech/design and a lot of the times I feel like an outsider due to my ASD. Sure there are other Lv1 autistics in my program, even a professor, but they all pass as allistic and present “higher functioning” than me. I know autism is a spectrum but damn it messes with me sometimes. Like “everyone else has the same condition as you, why do you act more disabled and more weird, bad kind of weird”? I love my work SO much but sometimes I feel insecurity and imposter syndrome seep in.

Seeing two queer drag artists with my disorder be given a spotlight to show off their skills helps me feel more confident in myself. Victoria Elizabeth Black, especially. Like I can find success and fulfillment doing things I am passionate about. It gives me inspiration and to be honest, a bit of hope ❤️
