How were you introduced to TOA? i'd just finished up the gd route for 3h when chuu, an old member, posted about a fe group on twitter. so, i dmed her and then asked about it and then delusionally manifested a blog and url in like roughly 8 hours. fun fact: prior to that, i'd only ever played one canon, lol!

Do you have any pets? yes, my awful little dog.

What is your favorite time of year and why? (Season, holiday, general period) wiiiiinter. it rains the most and i can just get jackets to be warm if it's too cold.

What is your IRL occupation? used to be a journalist, now i'm? in product development for stationery, lol.

Some interests and things you like/enjoy? mostly handicraft stuff? i like building lego sets, assembling dioramas, doing puzzles. i started learning how to crochet yesterday! i'm very bad at it!

What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? mostly jrpgs, but lots of puzzle-y indie games. i started playing sea of stars reeeecently, but haven't gotten very far on it. a metric ton of otomes, lmao.

Tell us some funfacts and trivia about yourself! i jokingly mumble "i'm thinking miku miku oo ee oo" when i'm struggling, but so my brother took that as "i really like hatsune miku" and now i have four figurines of miku just spread out in my room. i fear every time he goes to round one because i will just have another one.

How did you get into Fire Emblem? an old friend of mine told me to give awakening a try because she thought i'd like that i could date people, lmfao. it worked. NJKLRENGJKLRGR.

What Fire Emblem games have you played? eeeeverything post-awakening, short of three hopes. i also gave sacred stones a try and then got intensely mad when tana kept dying, so i stopped.

First & Favorite Fire Emblem games: awakening, then rrrr. i haven't touched one in a while, so i actually couldn't really say.

List your 5 favorite Fire Emblem characters across the series! inigo, fogado, hubert (toa pilled)—this is where i admit i don't actually have any favorites in game, but i do in toa, lmao.

If you were a Fire Emblem character, what would be your class and stats? Would you be playable? in my greatest delusions, i'd be an armored tank unit, but the reality is i'm probably the villager hiding in their house after you swung by to let me know something was coming to murk me/us.

If you were a Three Houses character, what would be your affiliation? golden deer, lmao. i just like their vibe.

If you were an Officers Academy student, what would be your boons, banes and potential budding talent? wwww, i actually started doing archery recently and i'm not bad at it, so i think probably something in that vein for a boon ....... i'm also weirdly strong, so maybe gauntlets? lmfao. everything else is what i'd be bad at, rifp. an athletic creature i am not.

Who was your first TOA muse? If you no longer have them, can you see yourself picking them up again? cynthia! and maybe? lmao, she's evolved so much past her baseline in my head that i think it'd actually be quite difficult to pick her up again, but she also has such incredible capacity for interesting relationships.

Do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? clown, usually with depression.

Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? oooof, really calculating and intellectual types! i'm not very good at it and my style of writing doesn't super lend itself to that because i tend to spell out their every thought, lmao. the only reason i could write constance is because she was simultaneously the smartest and stupidest person in the room at any given time.

What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? oh, i'm a comedy relief writer first and foremost. any situation where i can put people into a yes-and context is fun for me. but, i am realizing i do really enjoy dramatic scenes too for character study and exploration.

Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? nnnnnot right now. i find that most of the spiciest moments i recall are ones that just happen by circumstance instead of planning.

Favorite TOA-related memories? on chapril, i got the mods and everyone else to change to chad icons when a new member abruptly showed up and i died laughing.

Groudon VS Kyogre for Pokemon Unite!

The ground rumbles, the seas churn, and pillars of smoke rise from the ocean off the coast of Aeos Island. Not only that, a massive amount of Aeos Energy has been detected in the direction of this treacherous natural phenomena, spurring the researchers of the Unite Committee to analyze what is causing these energy spikes. The results are in, and the shocking truth is revealed...

While Rayquaza was busy guarding the Theia Sky Ruins, Groudon and Kyogre have gotten into a bit of a scrap in the seas of Aeos Island. A brand new struggle is forming, one that could bring ruination to Pokemon Unite.

Since Rayquaza has been the primary focus of Unite Battles, especially in Ranked matches, including Groudon and Kyogre seemed like a no-brainer, but the two have a terrible history of conflict. When one appears, the other isn't too far behind, and it isn't ever for a friendly chat. Every time they interact, the clouds roil and the weather turns harsh, and the two duke it out for the dominance of the sky. Getting these two involved is just asking for devastation to rain down on your country.

But, as it happens, both Groudon and Kyogre have awakened from their year-long slumber and are currently razing the sea with their weather war. Since it's magma versus aqua, all the fighting has created a brand new island the researchers have dubbed 'Neoterra Stadium'.

First off, I wanna give a quick shout out to Inkarnate dot com for their map maker, as this map was whipped up in 5 minutes thanks to their easy to use map editor. I'm using the free browser version though so I'm limited in what I can show, so your imagination is gonna have to fill in the blanks here and there.

So, in the quest for Aeos Energy, the fighting between Groudon and Kyogre poses a problem for the Unite Committee. While it would be possible to stop the fighting between the two behemoths, that would mean the cessation of Aeos Energy being produced from the calamity. It also means that neither Groudon nor Kyogre should win, or else the fighting may end permanently and endless rain or shine will prevail. This conflict is happening far enough off-shore that Aeos Island isn't in any immediate danger, but if the tides of battles shift in any meaningful way, the island may become uninhabitable if either Groudon or Kyogre were to take control.

As such, in order to maintain the power dynamic between the forces of nature, Unite trainers are to sign up for Neoterra Stadium battles as one of two factions; Team Magma and Team Aqua.

Normally, pokemon typing doesn't factor in how combat in Unite Battles plays out, but here, Groudon and Kyogre will only accept certain Pokemon Types into their ranks. When you pick a faction, you are only allowed to use pokemon within that type group to fight for either Groudon or Kyogre. It's less of a line in the sand and more like a Venn diagram.

Now, I know it looks like that one side has less pokemon than the other, but Kyogre is a bit more picky about who it lets into its arena. It's not anyone's fault that the Unite Roster is lacking in Water, Ice, and Electric Types compared to the Rock, Ground, Steel, and Grass types joining Groudon's side. One day there will be enough Water Types to flesh out Team Aqua's ranks, but until then, these are the soldiers of the sea that we'll have to work with.

There are some who aren't on this list, like Mamoswine and Machamp. Some pokemon can freely fight for either side due to their proficiency in both land and sea battles or for their preference for the air, like Dragapult and Dodrio. This just means that both sides have a wide variety of options to choose from when trainers sign up for these factions.

As for the actual war itself, it's established like a traditional Unite Battle where you sign up and wait to be matched with other trainers. But before you can do that, you have to choose which faction to join. Don't fret about missing out, you can switch factions anytime in the menu outside of battle. In fact, on the Faction Select Screen, it'll show you which side is winning the most battles so you can decide for yourself which team needs the edge.

So, when you enter a lobby, select your pokemon, and get settled in the Home Base, what are you supposed to do to win? A quick overview of the map will reveal that instead of Goal Zones, there are 'towers' that are spawning pokemon to advance into the opposing field. On Groudon's side of the field, they're called Ruby Rocks and Numel and Camerupt are sent to attack Kyogre's towers called Sapphire Spires, which are spawning Carvanha and Sharpedo.

At the beginning of the match, these are your only source of EXP. It goes without saying that everything on your side of the field is on the same team as you, so if you're fighting for Groudon, you need to stop the Carvanha and Sharpedo from advancing too far into your side of the field. And why are they marching inland? To destroy the towers that feed energy into either Groudon or Kyogre, same thing you should be doing to win.

These towers are dense concentrations of Aeos Energy, so it's in the interest of everyone to destroy the towers belonging to the opposing team. Also, you do get Aeos Energy from defeating the Numel or Carvanha spawning from the tower, along with EXP, but without any Goal Zones to deposit them, where are you supposed to put them?

This is where these two come into play.

When a minute passes, Groudon and Kyogre will come out of hiding and sit in the center of their respective side of the field. Their appearance causes multiple disturbances meant to benefit one side and inhibit the other.

Firstly, the Ruby Rocks and the Sapphire Spires start spawning stronger pokemon, making them harder to deal with in a swarm, but offering more EXP and Aeos Energy in exchange. The towers themselves start to pulse with power, granting factions a shield and passive recovery while within the area of effect, just like a regular Goal Zone. However, these towers will also start to become volatile and start to discharge energy at opposing pokemon, attacking in self defense when these pokemon are within range.

Ally pokemon can also get buffs, but they have to make an offering to either Groudon or Kyogre with their collected Aeos Energy. Giving Groudon or Kyogre Aeos Energy grants you not only EXP, but also a buff to your stats depending on your archetype. All-Rounders get more HP, Attackers get increased Basic Attack Speed, Defenders get increased Defense and Sp. Defense, Speedsters get more Attack and Sp. Attack, and Supporters get more Movement Speed. The buff wears off after a while, but the power and duration of the buffs is relative to the amount of Aeos Energy offered to Groudon or Kyogre.

Groudon and Kyogre can only increase your power if they're around to do it. It takes a minute for them to spawn when the match starts, but when they do show up, you have to protect your Legendary while attacking the enemy's. Groudon and Kyogre are vulnerable to attacks from the other side while out and about, so you have to coordinate with your team in order to play offense and defense.

Groudon and Kyogre will defend themselves from attacks on the opposing side, but they aren't all that strong when the match begins. They need Aeos Energy to power up. Once they have reached a certain threshold of energy, they can start to expand their influence on the battlefield.

Without any energy, Groudon and Kyogre are limited to close range attacks, like claw swipes or projectile fire and ice. They can't even hurt each other over the ridge of igneous rocks that divide the map. With enough Aeos Energy offered unto them, they can power up and spread more sun or rain across the battlefield. Groudon becomes capable of launching magma shots all across its side of the field, aiming for invading forces and inflicting burn damage-over-time. The Ruby Rocks also power up, spawning more Camerupt to do its dirty work. Kyogre responds with ocean sized waves sweeping across its territory, damaging and Shoving all enemies within and also boosting the Sapphire Spires to spawn more Sharpedo.

These Legendary Titans are powerful, but they're not invincible. They can be defeated if one side is careless about defending their leaders. If this happens, Groudon or Kyogre will retreat into their pools in order to recover, leaving the other free to rain down terror and ruination to the entire battlefield. Aeos Energy can still be offered at this point, though any buffs that would be granted would be delayed until Groudon or Kyogre recover. Any Aeos Energy offered shortens the recovery time, helping the Legendary pokemon return to the battlefield sooner.

The battle will continue to play out in this back-and-forth power struggle until time runs out. When that happens, the side which deposited the most Aeos Energy wins, and the total amount deposited is converted into points which can be traded in for special goodies back on Aeos Island. There is, however, a second way to win before the clock runs out. When a certain threshold of Aeos Energy is deposited, Groudon or Kyogre will reach their maximum power and undergo what is called a Primal Reversion.

When filled with enough Aeos Energy, Groudon and Kyogre will gain their maximum power. Groudon harnesses the raw thermal energy of the Omega Ruby and bring about Desolate Land on one side of the field, whereas Kyogre is filled with the limitless flow of power from the Alpha Sapphire and bring about a Primordial Sea on the other side.

Primal Groudon, fully powered up, will launch Precipice Blades at all invaders and slowly build up Solar Beam, targeting Kyogre. Likewise, Primal Kyogre will begin an assault with Origin Pulse, shooting highly pressurized seawater at infidels within its waters and prepare a powerful Hydro Pump aimed directly at Groudon. Oh, and that little ridge of igneous rock gets blasted apart should both Groudon and Kyogre reach their full potential and the two will start going at it.

This is good or bad, depending on the HP lead one side has over the other. See, if either Groudon or Kyogre get KO'd during the match, they'll retreat to restore their HP and come back slightly stronger, up to a certain limit, of course. But in the case of Primal Reversion, if either one get's KO'd while fully powered up, it's game over, and the match will end, as neither Groudon or Kyogre will return at that point, leaving the other side the victor. It doesn't matter how many Aeos Orbs were offered, it'll be total Defeat if either one is KO'd while Primal.

So, in summary, you and your team must defend the towers on your side of the map from the invading camels or fish, get EXP from them, as well as Aeos Energy from the minions or towers, and then deposit the energy to either Groudon or Kyogre for buffs and to empower your leader. The stronger your side becomes, the easier it'll be to win, though the minions sent to fight also become stronger and will be worth more Aeos Energy and EXP. Even if one side has powered up their god all the way, it only takes one Knock-Out to secure the victory, as neither Groudon nor Kyogre are capable of restoring any lost HP.

I mentioned before that the points earned from these battles can be converted into points for goodies back on Aeos Island. With a massive influx of Aeos Energy, the Unite Committee can spare some amenities to reward the more fashion forward trainers.

The points you earn from this mode can be spent on attire for the specific faction you earn the points for. For example, all the points you scored as a member of Team Aqua can be traded in for Team Aqua clothes and items, like hats and stickers. There's plenty of items to collect but casual players may find it difficult to buy them all without committing plenty of time to the game mode, so it's advised to get what you want early on and flesh out your collection later.

The more fanciful stuff you can buy is Holowear, though it's all cut and paste. A Team Magma Holowear for Charizard will use the same hood and vest as the Team Magma Holowear for Delphox, same goes for Team Aqua Holowear, with them all sharing the same pirate bandanna in each one. That doesn't mean they'll be cheap, just expect a long grind if you want to own every single one.

It's been a long while since Pokemon Unite has added a new map to the game. Theia Sky Ruins were great and all, but there are some who would argue it hardly feels all that different from Remoat Stadium along with the table-turner called Zapdos. My idea of a brand new map may be a drastic change from the typical formula, but it's kind of similar to how traditional MOBAs are played, like League of Legends. Note that I've never actually played that game, nor do I intend to, but even if I did, I would've made something similar to this concept anyway as a fresh take on a competitive arena, as well as a new map to play on featuring our favorite friendly titans who want each other dead.

Personally, I'm fine with Theia Sky Ruins at the moment, but if the Pokemon Unite devs insist on a new map with new pokemon and stuff, there's plenty of ideas to take from, like the Distortion World or Area Zero, or maybe a volcano or something so that Moltres can finally show up and join its friend group.

However it happens, if Groudon and Kyogre do end up coming to Aeos Island and it looks something like this, well, I won't be humble about it. Either way, I'll take whatever comes next in the future.

Now the important question is, Team Magma, or Team Aqua?

ROTI Pokemon

More Crossover stuff, for Revenge of the island. I only did them as Pokemon, I didn't do teams as that project was already difficult enough with the TDI/TDA/WT cast, adding in Alejandro and Sierra made over 20+ teams.

I realize I forgot two important people!!

Chris McLean, The Host

As A Pokemon: Raichu. Why Raichu? Usually the hosts of these shows are people that were heartthrobs or B List Actors from years ago, their golden years behind them. So they host game shows instead. Raichu, being the evolved form of the mascot pokemon, gets less love.

It can also get aggressive if it stores too much electricity and anime depictions do show Raichu as often kind of a bully, much like how Chris can be. As for his team, I think a lot of his team would be more scheming, crafty pokemon.

Chef Hatchet, The Chef

As A Pokemon: Machamp, obviously. Fairly powerful, and somewhat grumpy, a Machamp suits Chef. His team would mostly be fighting types, though I think he'd probably somehow end up with a fairy type near the later seasons.

Anne Maria, The Jersey Shore Reject

Once again, a very very basic one-joke, one-note character. But here you go!

As A Pokemon: Mareanie, as appearance wise the "hair" profile is similar and being poison type could tie in with how the Jersey Shore make up and hairspray is "toxic" to other people. I believe her team would be more poison types and kind of "fashionable" to her at least.

B(everly), The Strong, Silent Genius

Since he doesn't talk but still has more character than some, his pokemon was easy.

As a Pokemon: Dragonite, as it is very shy, surprisingly strong and agile for its build and one of the most intelligent non-psychic type pokemon. Dragonite has also been shown in the show to rarely vocalize too much. B would probably have a team that was built to handle anything, with good type combos to lessen super-effective moves against his team.

Brick, The Cadet

As a Pokemon: Growlithe. Growlithe is famously shown to be basically part of the Officer Jenny K-9 Units, extremely loyal and ready to throw itself into danger. Brick is still fairly young and a bit inexperienced, which is why he is not yet an Arcanine. His team would probably be mostly doglike pokemon

Cameron, The Wide-Eyed Bubble Boy

As a Pokemon: Reuniclus, obviously. Surrounded by a protective liquid/bubble, incredibly smart and manipulates this bubble to be physically strong with only its mind? That'd be Cameron in a nutshell. He'd probably train mostly psychic type pokemon, and maybe have a few pokemon that are a bit too curious for their own good, like him.

Dakota, The Fame-Monger

As A Pokemon: Shiny Lopunny, for exactly the reasons you think. She's in-universe pretty, Lopunny is described as extremely conscious about its appearance and being shiny reflects her "wealth" status. Of course, she would later probably be in Mega Lopunny form to reflect her mutation later on in the series. Her team would probably start out as normal & pretty, before turning into poison types, I think, to showcase her transformation.

Dawn, The Moonchild

As A Pokemon: Galarian Ponyta; able to see into people's hearts and hide away if it senses evil, and has the traditional unicorn ability to heal people. Being a Psychic Type, it can also be just as unsettling as it is beautiful, so very much suited for Dawn. Her team would be Psychic and Fairy type pokemon.

Also probably would be a Fairy or Psychic type Gym Leader, who tests your conviction through battle.

Jo, The Take-No-Prisoners Machine

As A Pokemon: Scrafty, because its rather rude, crass and territorial but it is a good fighter and does care about its friends, perfect fit for Jo. Also, as Jo is willing to do anything to win, the Dark/Fighting type combo works for her, and would be the theme of her team.

Lightning, The Athletic Overachiever

As A Pokemon: Zebstrika, for obvious reasons; Electric type, incredibly fast, and described as ill-tempered and volatile, calling back to Lightning's mercurial nature.

Mike, The Main One

I made up my own title because I don't like TD's title for him. He's at least not the worst DID depiction, and the creators said they'd probably write him better today--but it still boils down to, they used a mental health diagnosis for a one-joke character, which is not cool.

But Mike is an interesting character. It should surprise no one that Mike as a Pokemon would be:

Dodrio was my original choice, as Hydrapple didn't exist when I made this list. Ultimately, Mike is a Dodrio as Dodrio is 3 birds in one body, and Hydrapple is just 7 Flapples living in one apple, which isn't it's body. Dodrio makes more sense. Mike's team would reflect each of his alters, including Mal. So he'd have the next most well rounded team, to be honest.

Sam, The Nice Guy Gamer

As A Pokemon: Rotom, as it loves to possess other forms of electronics and becomes your pokedex in later games. Perfect for discount Seth Rogan who plays games. Electric types, obviously

Scott, The Devious

As A Pokemon: Lycanroc, Dusk Form. Perfect for Scott, who has been implied to be a dirt/rock farmer, which Lycanroc fits, and Dusk type is a mix of Midnight and Midday forms. Plus it's orange, like his hair. Being calm with a hidden temper and a difficult to raise/train pokemon according to its dex entries, this also fits Scott as he became better in All-Stars. Lots of his pokemon would be ground/rock/dark types, which matches his rivalry/fear of Fang, the Shark.

Staci, The Compulsive Liar

As A Pokemon: Chatot. Staci doesn't stop talking and Chatot cannot shut up. Her pokemon would all be deceptive in someway (Zorua, Ditto) or constantly making noise (Chatot)

Zoey, The Indie Chick

As A Pokemon: Cubone, eventually evolving into a Marowak. Zoey was alone a lot, like Cubone is said to be in the Pokedex. Cubone, being lonely, cannot do much on its own. As Zoey makes friends, she finds her strength and evolves near the end of ROTI, into an extremely competent Marowak. Her team would probably be underestimated pokemon, that if trained correctly, can be pretty useful in their own rights.
