I am interested in how design studio Dr.Me manipulate found imagery to create something that is their own. Looking at these examples, what they are doing is actually very similar to what is discussed in my chosen Ted Talk. They are using previous works of art to find new perspectives, and are relating these artworks to the wider world. One example pairs the embrace of two people in classical sculpture with that in a much more modern photograph, showing similarities between art and the wider world. Another takes Matisse’s famous Dance painting, colouring the shapes with seemingly messy and quick marks that appear to have been made digitally, bringing a classic into the modern world and, from what I make of it, commenting on the reproduction of art and how much quality it can loose when being reproduced digitally again and again. 

Using similar techniques in the image-making for my book, showing the artworks referenced in the talk alongside real life things or occurrences via photography, collage and/or drawing, and reproducing the artworks in a more personal illustrative style, I could demonstrate two of the key themes of the talk - using art to find new perspectives, and relating art to the wider world.
