All You Need to Know About Gall Bladder Cancer And Diagnosis

Gallbladder cancer, as the name suggests, is a malignancy that originates from the cells and tissues of the gallbladder. The gallbladder is a tiny, pear-shaped organ that lies beneath the liver. It is responsible for storing the bile juice produced by the liver. Gall bladder cancers usually develop in the glandular cells that line the gallbladder from within. This is commonly referred to as adenocarcinoma.

·         Cholangiography – It involves the use of an MRI machine or endoscope to examine the bile ducts. Angiography, which is somewhat similar to cholangiography, may also be performed, the only difference being that the former involves the use of red dye for better visibility

Biopsy – This involves the collection of a tissue sample from the gall bladder of the patient and evaluating the sample to look for the traces of cancer.
