Dan Stevens & audiobooks
Many of you will already know that Dan has narrated, or rather performed, more than 30 audiobooks as well as numerous and varied radio dramas & readings.
However, many do not know or realise what a masterful grasp he has on languages, dialects, accents and the ages of the characters, whether they be man or woman, boy or girl.
I am listening, again, to “Fall of Giants” by Ken Follett which has one of the broadest range of characters, each one of which is amazingly “inhabited” by Dan.
Below is a very long list of characters in that book - and remember each is portrayed differently by Dan which makes it such an enjoyable “listen”. It is an amazing performance and I truly hope that one day he will find some time to provide us with more audiobooks to enjoy.
Those who already enjoy these works will need no convincing, and they will have many favourites, as do I, especially work such “My Dear I Wanted To Tell You”, “The Invisible Ones”, “History of A Pleasure Seeker”, “Wolf Hall”, “War Horse”.......and more

Cyberpunk 1948 story: Who Killed Dr. Orville Hearste?
lol
Well that’s how it’s turning out, anyways. Here’s the suspects:
Johanna “Johnnie” Sawyer: CEO/Founder of Sixlex, an up and coming developer of commercial convenience. Inventor of what would have been the first fully functioning independent automatons, Alexa and Roxanne, if Hearste’s Willie didn’t exist. If Hearste died before being able to present Willie, Sawyer would have the title of first to present a full android to the world and get all the accolades, business, and MONEY.
Daniel “Denny Gizmo” Rowan: CEO/Founder of a small robotic entertainment company. He stays out of the ‘competition’ of robots by simply creating ‘animatronics’, robots that aren’t capable of artificial intelligence. His animatronics look more real but have no real intelligence. If Willie were to gain popularity, then he might as well be driven out of business.
Rook or I200 Unit K: A Denny Gizmo Escort prototype, perhaps the first Deviant in the world, especially for a unit that isn’t supposed to have any artificial intelligence past set dialogue to entertain clients. He’s unstable and unpredictable, and a bad history with humans in general.
Eiden Kessel: A German independent robotics expert. Served under the Germans during the war, but was ‘obtained’ by the US. He seems to have no national pride either way, and is greatly disliked by those around him for a multitude of reasons. His robots were destroyed when he was obtained by the states, and strongly opposed Hearste’s outspoken national pride; they met publicly in the past, and it resulted in a physical altercation. Although he has nothing to gain from interfering with Willie himself.
RX1000: A legendary hitman known as “the prescription for the condition of living”, he’s carried out a flawless record without failing a single mission over the course of a nearly 20-year career. No one knows who he really is, where he comes from, or if he’s even actually a man. A consummate professional, he never works without pay, so if he IS the one responsible he’s working for someone else. Has no personal motive, but may be the only one on the list capable of leaving no physical evidence.
Alford Hearste: Orville’s adult son, a punk kid who just arrived in New York from Detroit, of all places. Though Orville clearly loved the kid, he didn’t talk about him much. The kid was discharged from the army dishonorably before even making it overseas, and there’s rumors he was involved in the riots in 1943. All in all, Al’s a troubled kid with a violent past and a TON of money to be gained from his father’s death. But would he go so far as to actually kill the man? Or have him killed?
Suspects, suspects, so many suspects....

ПУСТ* from VOLNA on Vimeo.
ПУСТ* (PUST) is an interdisciplinary project exploring the processes of mythologization of a specific historical event – the Belavezha Accords of 1991. The project includes а light installation, dance, sound, multi-channel video, along with found and specially created objects.
The artists behind the ПУСТ* project are representatives of a generation that was caught up in the collapse of the USSR and felt the consequences of this breakup over two eras, but did not directly participate in the related events due to their young age at the time. The ПУСТ* Project is an attempt to fill in gaps in one’s own "mental map" and make this event a part of a restored historical memory.
Incorporating multiple artistic methods and approaches, the collective attempts to imagine the events in the Belavezha Forest from the perspective of its participants, drawing parallels between fear of the "wild forest" and fear of wild politics, between being completely adrift but also spontaneously decisive, between the enormous impact of this enormous political decision and a series of unpredictable and absurd factors that influenced it behind the scenes.
ПУСТ* is the resulting project of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory – a large-scale project of Goethe-Institut Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In 2016, the collective worked as guest artists in Karlsruhe and, as an outcome of the residency, presented the first outline of ПУСТ* in ZKM. In 2017, the collective visited the site of the historical event, the Belavezha Forest, and collected audio and video material for the exhibit. The final presentation took place on November 23–26, 2017 in St. Petersburg.

ABC reveals their upcoming 2017 – 2018 primetime lineup, and we’ve got the details, including the announcement about Scandal‘s last season.
Upfronts 2017 continues! Yesterday, NBC and FOX announced their lineup from the upcoming season, and earlier today ABC held their showcase to do the same.
Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, unveiled the network’s new lineup this afternoon at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall in NYC, and there are some shake-ups.
What stands out most to me is the changes to Once Upon a Time. After news that the majority of the series’ regular cast is departing, ABC has still renewed the show for Season 7. There are lots of questions about the nature of the reset for the new season. Incidentally, I do think the Season 6 finale does a surprisingly good job of setting the stakes and creating some buy-in from long time Oncers. In any event, Once Upon a Time will be moved from Sunday evenings to Friday at 8:00pm ET|PT. This time spot is notorious for being a death sentence to TV shows, but there’s still reason to be optimistic (more on that later…).
Also, some changes are on the horizon for Shondaland and TGiT too. The Catch has been cancelled, and while Scandal has gotten a full season order, Shonda Rhimes (Scandal’s creator and executive producer) and ABC confirm that Season 7 will be the show’s last. According to Ms. Rhimes:
“Deciding how to end a show is easy. Deciding when to finish is quite simple when the end date is years away. But actually going through with it? Actually standing up to say: ‘This is it?’ Not so much. So, next year we are going all out. Leaving nothing on the table. Creating this world in celebration. We are going to handle the end the way we like to handle the important things in our ‘Scandal’ family: all together, white hats on, gladiators running full speed over a cliff.”
Gladiators right up until the end!
In addition to their returning series, ABC is also introducing one comedy (The Mayor) and four new dramas (The Good Doctor, The Gospel of Kevin, Marvel’s Inhumans, Ten Days In the Valley) in the Fall.
We can expect ABC to bring us TWO revivals, Roseanne, plus a revamped American Idol (moving to a new network after being cancelled at FOX in 2015). Rounding out the announcement is that we can expect two Live Musical Special Events The Wonderful World of Disney: The Little Mermaid Live! (debuting Tuesday, October 3) and Rolling Stone 50.
Take a look at the list of shows that have been renewed and canceled, followed by the trailers, synopses, and character images from the coming ABC debuts. Make sure to share your thoughts in comments too!

Unfortunately for Courtney, his master plan goes wildly awry, ending in the most terrifying of outcomes: an election victory. ''The Most Amazing Story Of Survival, Friendship, And Adventure Ever Told. (Dostluk, Yaşam Savaşı ve Macera Üzerine Bugüne Kadar Anlatılmış En Çarpıcı Hikaye.)''
Inspired by a True Story (Gerçek bir hikayeden esinlenilmiştir).
Geçtiğimiz yıllarda 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'ın çekimleri için Sahra çölünün ortasında; 'Alive'ın çekimleri için 10 bin feet yüksekliğinde buzullarda çalışma yaptım.
Köpek timinin en yaşlısı Old Jack rolünde - Apache, Buck

Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks_ Smoothing Skin Texture and Tone with Dermatologists at Kessel Dermatology
Dr. Daniel Kessel
Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks: Smoothing Skin Texture and Tone with Dermatologists at Kessel Dermatology
Stretch marks, or striae, are a common skin concern that many individuals experience due to factors such as rapid weight changes, pregnancy, or hormonal fluctuations. These marks, characterized by their reddish, purplish, or silvery appearance, occur when the skin is stretched beyond its capacity, causing the underlying collagen and elastin fibers to break. While stretch marks are not harmful, they can be a cosmetic concern for many people.
Laser treatment has emerged as an effective dermatological procedure for improving the appearance of stretch marks. This technique utilizes focused light to target and stimulate the skin’s natural healing processes, promoting the production of collagen and elastin. The result is a smoother and more even skin texture. This blog will explore how laser treatment works, its benefits, and what to expect from the procedure, providing insights into why it may be a viable option for those seeking to reduce the visibility of stretch marks.
Understanding Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks
Laser treatment for stretch marks involves using a specific type of laser technology to target the affected areas of the skin. The laser emits light that penetrates the skin's surface, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the deeper layers. This process helps to remodel the skin and improve its overall appearance. The treatment can be customized based on the severity of the stretch marks and the individual's skin type.
There are several types of lasers used for this procedure, including fractional lasers and pulsed dye lasers. Fractional lasers create micro-injuries in the skin, which prompts the body's natural healing response and collagen production. Pulsed dye lasers target the blood vessels in the stretch marks, helping to reduce redness and improve pigmentation. Understanding the different types of lasers and their mechanisms can help individuals make informed decisions about their treatment options as highlighted by dermatologists at Kessel Dermatology.
Benefits of Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks
Laser treatment offers several benefits for individuals seeking to improve the appearance of stretch marks. One of the primary advantages is its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production, which are essential for skin elasticity and firmness. As new collagen forms, the skin becomes smoother and more resilient, reducing the visibility of stretch marks.
Additionally, laser treatments can improve skin tone and texture by targeting the discoloration associated with stretch marks. For individuals with newer stretch marks that are still red or purple, lasers can help to normalize pigmentation and make the marks less noticeable. The procedure is minimally invasive and generally requires little downtime, making it a convenient option for many individuals looking to address their skin concerns.
The Procedure: What to Expect
Before undergoing laser treatment, a consultation with a skin specialist at Kessel Dermatology is essential to determine the most appropriate type of laser and treatment plan. During the procedure, the dermatologist will apply a cooling gel to the treatment area to protect the skin and minimize discomfort. The laser is then directed at the stretch marks, and patients may experience a sensation similar to a rubber band snap.
Following the treatment, patients might experience some redness and swelling in the treated area, which typically resolves within a few days. It is crucial to follow post-procedure care instructions, including moisturizing and avoiding sun exposure, to support the healing process and achieve optimal results. Understanding what to expect during and after the procedure can help individuals prepare for their treatment and ensure a smoother recovery.
Preparing for Laser Treatment
Proper preparation is key to ensuring the effectiveness and safety of laser treatment for stretch marks. Prior to the procedure, individuals should inform the dermatologist at Kessel Dermatology of any medications they are taking, as certain drugs may affect the treatment outcome. It is also important to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen in the weeks leading up to the treatment to protect the skin.
Additionally, individuals should follow any pre-treatment instructions provided by their dermatologist, such as avoiding certain skincare products or undergoing a skin test. Preparing adequately for the procedure helps to minimize risks and enhance the results, leading to a more successful outcome.
Post-Treatment Care and Recovery
Post-treatment care is crucial for achieving the best results from laser therapy for stretch marks. Immediately after the procedure, it is normal to experience some redness, swelling, or mild discomfort, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and cold compresses. It is important to keep the treated area clean and moisturized to support the healing process.
Patients should also avoid direct sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect the skin from UV damage. Following the aftercare instructions given by skin specialists at Kessel Dermatology and attending any follow-up appointments will help ensure that the skin heals properly and that the results are as effective as possible. Proper post-treatment care contributes to a smoother and more even skin appearance.
Results and Long-Term Maintenance
Laser treatment for stretch marks typically requires multiple sessions to achieve optimal results, depending on the severity of the marks and individual skin response. Over time, as the skin heals and new collagen forms, patients will notice a gradual improvement in the appearance of their stretch marks.
To maintain results, it is important to continue with a healthy skincare routine and lifestyle choices as underscored by dermatologists at Kessel Dermatology. Regular moisturizing, sun protection, and a balanced diet can help support skin health and prevent the formation of new stretch marks. Long-term maintenance practices contribute to preserving the improvements achieved through laser treatment and ensure that the skin remains healthy and resilient.
Laser treatment offers a promising solution for improving the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen production and enhancing skin texture. By understanding the procedure, its benefits, and the importance of proper preparation and post-treatment care, individuals can make informed decisions about their skincare options. With multiple sessions and ongoing maintenance, laser treatment can provide significant improvements, helping individuals achieve smoother, more even skin. Embracing this innovative approach can lead to greater confidence and satisfaction with one’s appearance.

Sculpting Dreams_ Exploring the Subconscious Mind in Art with Experienced Sculpture Professionals including Sean Kessel
Dr. Daniel Kessel
Sculpting Dreams: Exploring the Subconscious Mind in Art with Experienced Sculpture Professionals including Sean Kessel
Becoming a sculptor of abstract objects is a journey into the depths of the subconscious mind, where dreams and emotions converge to form unique and compelling art. Abstract sculpture often reflects an artist's internal world, translating complex psychological landscapes into tangible forms. This creative process involves exploring personal and universal themes, allowing the artist to manifest inner visions into physical representations.
Abstract sculpture differs from traditional forms by prioritizing conceptual expression over realistic depiction. For sculptors seeking to delve into the subconscious, understanding how to channel and articulate these hidden dimensions becomes crucial. This blog will guide aspiring sculptors through key techniques and strategies for exploring and incorporating subconscious elements into their abstract work. By embracing these methods, artists can unlock new dimensions of creativity and create profound, evocative sculptures.
Understanding the Subconscious Influence
The subconscious mind significantly influences the creation of abstract art, providing a reservoir of hidden thoughts and emotions. Sculptors often tap into this deeper level of consciousness to produce work that resonates on a more personal and emotional level. Understanding the role of the subconscious allows artists to harness these hidden influences and channel them into their sculptures.
Techniques such as free association, automatic drawing, and dream journaling can be instrumental in accessing subconscious content. By exploring these methods, abstract sculpture professionals like Sean Kessel uncover underlying themes and symbols that may inform their abstract work. Embracing the subconscious not only enriches the artistic process but also adds layers of meaning to the final sculpture.
Developing a Conceptual Framework
While abstract sculpture is often spontaneous, establishing a conceptual framework can guide the artistic process. This involves setting intentions, defining themes, and exploring ideas that resonate with the subconscious material. A clear conceptual framework helps sculpture professionals such as Sean Kessel focus their creative efforts and ensure that their sculptures convey coherent and impactful messages.
Developing this framework may include researching psychological theories, exploring symbolism, and reflecting on personal experiences. By integrating these elements into their practice, sculptors can create work that not only visually captivates but also engages with deeper psychological and emotional layers. A well-defined framework serves as a foundation for translating abstract concepts into sculptural forms.
Embracing Material and Form Experimentation
Material experimentation is essential for sculpting abstract objects, as it allows artists to explore how different substances and textures can express subconscious themes. Sculptors often experiment with a variety of materials, such as metal, wood, clay, or found objects, to discover which best conveys their intended emotional or psychological impact.
Experimentation with form is equally important. Abstract sculptures can take on diverse shapes and structures, reflecting the fluid and often non-linear nature of subconscious thoughts. By embracing a willingness to experiment and adapt, experienced sculpture professionals including Sean Kessel uncover innovative ways to manifest their inner visions. This process of exploration and discovery is crucial for developing a distinctive and expressive sculptural style.
Integrating Symbolism and Personal Symbols
Symbolism plays a critical role in abstract sculpture, allowing sculptors to encode deeper meanings within their work. Personal symbols, derived from the subconscious, can imbue sculptures with unique significance and emotional resonance. By incorporating these symbols, abstract sculpture professionals like Sean Kessel create pieces that speak to personal experiences and universal themes simultaneously.
Understanding and applying symbolic language involves analyzing personal dreams, experiences, and emotions. Sculptors may use these insights to develop motifs and forms that resonate on multiple levels. By integrating personal and universal symbols into their work, sculptors can enhance the depth and interpretative potential of their abstract sculptures.
Exploring Psychological and Emotional Themes
Abstract sculpture provides a powerful medium for exploring psychological and emotional themes. Sculptors often draw from their own emotional experiences or psychological states to create work that captures complex feelings and states of being. This exploration can lead to profound and impactful sculptures that engage viewers on an emotional and intellectual level.
Techniques such as introspective reflection and emotional expression exercises can help sculptors identify and articulate these themes. By addressing psychological and emotional aspects, artists can create work that not only reflects their own inner world but also resonates with a broader audience. This approach enriches the artistic process and enhances the overall impact of the sculpture.
Refining and Reflecting on Artistic Vision
Refining one’s artistic vision is an ongoing process that involves critical reflection and continuous development. For abstract sculptors, this means evaluating how well their work conveys the intended subconscious themes and emotions. Regular reflection and critique can help artists refine their techniques and concepts, leading to more cohesive and compelling sculptures.
Artists should engage in self-assessment and seek feedback from peers or mentors to gain different perspectives. This process of reflection and refinement enables sculptors to align their abstract work more closely with their subconscious intentions and artistic goals. By continually evolving their practice, sculpture professionals such as Sean Kessel achieve greater clarity and impact in their abstract sculptures.
Sculpting abstract objects offers a unique opportunity to explore and express the subconscious mind through art. By understanding the influence of the subconscious, developing a conceptual framework, experimenting with materials and forms, and incorporating symbolism, sculptors can create work that resonates deeply with both themselves and their audience. Addressing psychological themes and continuously refining their artistic vision further enhances their ability to produce profound and evocative sculptures. Embracing these practices allows sculptors to navigate the depths of their inner world and translate their dreams into tangible, impactful art.

The ABCs of Skin Health - A Dermatology Primer
Dr. Daniel Kessel
A. stands for "Assess". The first step in achieving optimum skin health is to assess. It's about understanding your skin's unique needs, identifying trouble spots, and addressing any concerns you may have. This step is crucial and should ideally be done under the guidance of an experienced dermatologist. At Kessel Dermatology, the team of experts takes the time to thoroughly assess each individual's skin condition, providing a solid foundation for a personalized skincare regimen. With their comprehensive skin assessment, you will be empowered to make informed decisions about your skin health journey.
Anatomy of the Skin
Before delving into the intricacies of skin health, it's crucial to understand the basic anatomy of the skin. The skin is the body's largest organ, and it consists of three primary layers: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. The epidermis is the outermost layer and serves as a protective shield. It constantly renews itself, shedding dead skin cells and replacing them with new ones.
B. stands for "Balance". Achieving balance in your skin care regimen is essential. It involves the right mix of cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and protecting your skin against harmful elements. Notably, balance also relates to the internal aspects of your life, such as maintaining a balanced diet and ensuring proper hydration. These factors significantly impact the health and appearance of your skin. At Kessel Dermatology, we believe in the concept of balance and strive to instill this philosophy in our patients. We educate our patients about the importance of balance in skin care, helping them to understand how the right combination of dermatological treatments and lifestyle habits can lead to healthier, more radiant skin.
Understanding Skin Types
Not all skin is created equal. Different individuals have different skin types, which can significantly affect how their skin behaves and reacts to various factors. The most common skin types are normal, oily, dry, and combination. Understanding your skin type is crucial for selecting the right skincare products and routines.
Normal skin typically has a good balance of oil and moisture, with few imperfections. Oily skin tends to produce excess sebum, which can lead to acne and shine. Dry skin lacks moisture and can be prone to flakiness, redness, and irritation. Combination skin exhibits characteristics of more than one skin type in different areas of the face. Determining your skin type can help you tailor your skincare regimen for optimal results.
Basic Skincare Routine
Maintaining healthy skin starts with a basic skincare routine. Regardless of your skin type, there are essential steps to follow. Cleansing is the first step, and it involves removing dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin. Choose a gentle cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils.
Next, moisturize your skin to keep it hydrated and supple. Even if you have oily skin, a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer can help balance the skin's moisture levels. Sunscreen is a must to protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV radiation. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, and reapply as needed throughout the day.
Common Skin Conditions
Dermatologists frequently treat a wide range of skin conditions. Some of the most common issues include:
Acne: Acne is a skin condition that affects many people, especially during adolescence. It results from clogged hair follicles, excess oil production, and bacterial overgrowth. Dermatologists can recommend treatments ranging from topical creams to oral medications to help manage acne.
Eczema: Eczema, or atopic dermatitis, is characterized by itchy, inflamed skin. It often appears in childhood but can affect people of all ages. Dermatologists can provide guidance on managing eczema through moisturizers, topical steroids, and lifestyle changes.
Psoriasis: Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition that leads to the rapid growth of skin cells, causing scaling and redness. Dermatologists offer various treatments, including topical medications, light therapy, and systemic medications, to manage psoriasis.
Skin Cancer: Skin cancer is a serious concern, with melanoma being the most dangerous type. Dermatologists play a critical role in early detection and treatment. Regular skin checks are essential for spotting suspicious moles or lesions that may be cancerous.
Preventing Skin Aging
Aging is a natural process that affects the skin over time. Factors like genetics, sun exposure, and lifestyle choices can accelerate the aging process. To maintain youthful, healthy skin, consider the following tips:
Sun Protection: The sun's UV rays are a leading cause of premature aging. Protect your skin by wearing sunscreen daily and seeking shade when outdoors.
Healthy Lifestyle: A balanced diet, regular exercise, and proper hydration can contribute to overall skin health. Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption can accelerate aging and should be avoided.
Skincare: Use anti-aging skincare products that contain ingredients like retinol and antioxidants. These can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Hydration: Keeping your skin well-hydrated is essential for a youthful appearance. Use a high-quality moisturizer and drink plenty of water to maintain skin elasticity.
Consulting a Dermatologist
C. stands for "Consultation". A critical step in maintaining skin health is scheduling regular consultations with a trusted dermatologist. These sessions allow for routine skin evaluations, enabling early detection and treatment of potential issues. They also provide an opportunity for patients to discuss their skin health goals and concerns, and to receive professional advice tailored to their unique needs. At Kessel Dermatology, we highly value these consultations. Our team works in close collaboration with our patients, guiding them through their skin health journey with expert advice, empathy, and understanding. We believe that active, open dialogues about skin health are essential for fostering a proactive approach to dermatological care.
In conclusion, the ABCs of skin health - Assessment, Balance, and Consultation - are more than just steps; they represent a comprehensive approach to maintaining and enhancing the health of your skin. Remember, your journey to healthy skin begins with understanding your skin's unique needs, maintaining a balanced skincare regimen, and regularly consulting with a trusted dermatologist. At Kessel Dermatology, we are committed to guiding you through this journey, providing expert care and advice tailored to your specific needs. Healthy skin is not just about aesthetics; it's an integral part of your overall health, and it deserves your attention and care and Kessel Dermatology is the place where all of crucial things for a healthy skin are combined.
