A top Trump appointee repeatedly urged top health officials to adopt a "herd immunity" approach to Covid-19 and allow millions of Americans to be infected by the virus, according to internal emails obtained by a House watchdog and shared with POLITICO.
“There is no other way, we need to establish herd, and it only comes about allowing the non-high risk groups expose themselves to the virus. PERIOD," then-science adviser Paul Alexander wrote on July 4 to his boss, Health and Human Services assistant secretary for public affairs Michael Caputo, and six other senior officials.
"Infants, kids, teens, young people, young adults, middle aged with no conditions etc. have zero to little risk….so we use them to develop herd…we want them infected…" Alexander added.
"[I]t may be that it will be best if we open up and flood the zone and let the kids and young folk get infected" in order to get "natural immunity…natural exposure," Alexander wrote on July 24 to Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn, Caputo and eight other senior officials. Caputo subsequently asked Alexander to research the idea, according to emails obtained by the House Oversight Committee's select subcommittee on coronavirus.
Alexander also argued that colleges should stay open to allow Covid-19 infections to spread, lamenting in a July 27 email to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield that “we essentially took off the battlefield the most potent weapon we had...younger healthy people, children, teens, young people who we needed to fastly [sic] infect themselves, spread it around, develop immunity, and help stop the spread.”
Alexander was a top deputy of Caputo, who was personally installed by President Donald Trump in April to lead the health department's communications efforts. Officials told POLITICO that they believed that when Alexander made recommendations, he had the backing of the White House.
“It was understood that he spoke for Michael Caputo, who spoke for the White House,” said Kyle McGowan, a Trump appointee who was CDC chief of staff before leaving this summer. “That’s how they wanted it to be perceived.”
Senior Trump officials have repeatedly denied that herd immunity — a concept advocated by some conservatives as a tactic to control Covid-19 by deliberately exposing less vulnerable populations in hopes of re-opening the economy — was under consideration or shaped the White House's approach to the pandemic. “Herd immunity is not the strategy of the U.S. government with regard to coronavirus," HHS Secretary Alex Azar testified in a hearing before the House coronavirus subcommittee on Oct. 2.
In his emails, Alexander also spent months attacking government scientists and pushing to shape official statements to be more favorable to President Donald Trump.
For instance, Alexander acknowledges in a May 30 email that a draft statement from the CDC about how Covid-19 was disproportionately affecting minority populations was "very accurate," but he warned HHS and CDC communications officials that "in this election cycle that is the kind of statement coming from CDC that the media and Democrat [sic] antagonists will use against the president." The problems were "due to decades of democrat neglect," Alexander alleged.
Alexander also appeared to acknowledge that the White House's own push to let states wind down their Covid-19 restrictions was leading to a spike in cases.
"There is a rise in cases due to testing and also simultaneously due to the relaxing of restrictions, less social distancing," Alexander wrote in a July 24 email. "We always knew as you relax and open up, cases will rise."
The emails represent an unusual window on the internal deliberations of the Trump administration, and the tensions between political appointees like Alexander — a part-time professor at a Canadian university — and staff members in health agencies. On Sept. 16, HHS announced that Alexander would be leaving the department, just days after POLITICO first reported on his efforts to shape the CDC's famed Morbidity and Mortality and Weekly Reports and pressure government scientist Anthony Fauci from speaking about the risks of Covid-19 to children.
In a statement, an HHS spokesperson said that Alexander’s demands for herd immunity “absolutely did not” shape department strategy.
“Dr. Paul Alexander previously served as a temporary Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and is no longer employed at the Department,” the spokesperson said.
Alexander did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Caputo, who took medical leave the same day that Alexander left the department, has referred previous inquiries to HHS.
Public health experts have decried calls to deliberately infect younger, healthier Americans with Covid-19, saying that it would unnecessarily put millions of people at risk of long-term complications and even death. “We certainly are not wanting to wait back and just let people get infected so that you can develop herd immunity. That's certainly not my approach,” Fauci said in September.
Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.), who chairs the coronavirus subcommittee, said in a statement that the documents "show a pernicious pattern of political interference by Administration officials."
"As the virus spread through the country, these officials callously wrote, 'who cares' and 'we want them infected,'" Clyburn added. "They privately admitted they ‘always knew’ the President’s policies would cause a ‘rise’ in cases, and they plotted to blame the spread of the virus on career scientists."
Clyburn said that the documents — which the Trump administration only released to his subcommittee after the election, more than two months after his probe began — underscore why HHS must cooperate with his investigation and that CDC Director Redfield must appear for an interview about an email that he allegedly told staff to delete. Otherwise, "I will be forced to start issuing subpoenas," Clyburn said.
The email cache provided a real-time look at the administration’s deliberations as the Covid-19 crisis first began to rebound during the summer.
"So the bottom line is if it is more infectiouness [sic] now, the issue is who cares?" Alexander wrote in a July 3 email to the health department's top communications officials. "If it is causing more cases in young, my word is who cares…as long as we make sensible decisions, and protect the elderely [sic] and nursing homes, we must go on with life….who cares if we test more and get more positive tests."
"How can this be researched and proven true or false?" Caputo asked Alexander in one July 25 email exchange, after Alexander had emailed Hahn and nine top communications officials across HHS and FDA about the value of herd immunity.
Alexander wrote back with data that he said he'd pulled from several studies, including a link to a June 30 Quanta Magazine article about the "tricky math" of herd immunity.
"I did not want to look like a nut ball and if as they think and as I think this may be true ... several hard hit areas may have hit heard [sic] at 20% like NYC," Alexander added. "[T]hat's my argument….why not consider it?"
The health department has worked to distance itself from Alexander since his mid-September departure, and several Trump appointees said that Alexander was often isolated during his roughly six-month stint advising department officials.
“His rants had zero impact on policy and communications,” a senior administration official insisted. “Caputo enabled him to opine, but people pushed back and it even got to a point where Caputo told him to stop sending the emails.”
But McGowan, the former CDC chief of staff, said that Alexander was effective at delaying the famed Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports and watering down guidance that came from his agency.
“He absolutely put pressure on the CDC on different guidance documents, on MMWRs,” McGowan said. “He wanted to change MMWRs that were already posted, which is just outrageous.”
While McGowan said that even though agency officials fended off Alexander’s demands to edit the morbidity and mortality reports, “it’s the type of political meddling that delayed guidance, delayed MMWRs from getting them out as quickly as possible to be effective,” McGowan added.

World Government is Rising In America!
By Daymond Duck Published on: May 9, 2021
Here are some recent events that seem to indicate that world government is rising in America.
One, concerning hyper-inflation, economic collapse, and famine: on Apr. 29, 2021, it was reported that the price of food is soaring in Asia, a region that contains more than half of the world’s population, and history shows that soaring food prices eventually lead to social unrest (The French Revolution of 1789, Europe’s Revolutions in 1848, and a revolution in Russia in 1917).
Concerning the signs of His coming: Jesus said there will be “upon the earth, distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25).
This is usually interpreted in one of two ways: the waves and seas roaring represent an increase in cyclones, hurricanes, etc., at sea; and roaring (social unrest, rioting, demonstrating, etc.) in the sea of humanity (Rev. 17:15).
Two, also concerning hyper-inflation and an economic collapse: it is being reported that the Biden administration is planning to spend 6 trillion dollars just in the next 6 months alone.
Some economists say America’s debt-to-GDP ratio is higher than it has been since the end of WWII, and another 6 trillion dollars will destroy the U.S. dollar.
Three, concerning world government: on Apr. 28, 2021, Pres. Biden addressed the nation and a joint session of Congress.
As expected, he accused America of “systemic racism,” a vague term that many say means because of slavery and segregation in America, black people do not get fair treatment at school, at work, in elections, in housing, in anything; and everyone in America, especially white Republicans, is guilty.
Using the death of George Floyd as an illustration, Biden said, the “knee of injustice [is] on the neck of black America.”
In response, the black Senator from South Carolina, Tim Scott, said, “Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country,” and he added, “It’s backwards to fight discrimination with different discrimination.”
Aside from wondering how this black man got elected to the U.S. Senate if America is so racist, and aside from noting that this black man pointed out that Democrats want to fight racism by discriminating against all white people, U.S. citizens need to understand that the purpose of portraying America as a bad nation is to restructure America and bring it into a godless world government.
According to the Bible, America will be subjected to a godless world government that is far worse than what we have today; and billions of people, including multitudes of the black people, will regret the day it happened.
Four, concerning world government: on Apr. 30, 2021, Dr. Andy Woods and Jim McGowan discussed the U.S.-Mexico Border Crisis on Pastors’ Point of View #163.
The Biden administration has delegated authority over the crisis to Vice-Pres. Kamala Harris, but she has not even visited the border.
For whatever it is worth, she says she is working with the radical U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, to get the international community’s help.
Notice this!
Kamala Harris is delegating control of the U.S. border with Mexico to unelected foreigners instead of the U.S. Border Patrol, building a wall, etc.
The fact is, according to the Migration Policy Institute, during his first 100 days in office, Biden issued 94 Executive Orders that have dismantled America’s immigration policies and throw the border wide open.
Five, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: Pres. Biden is now involved in indirect talks with Iran over that terrorist nation’s quest for nuclear weapons.
This prompted Israel’s Intelligence Minister, Eli Cohen, to warn that “a bad deal will send the region spiraling into war.”
Cohen said, “Israel will not allow Iran to attain nuclear arms. Iran has no immunity anywhere. Our planes can reach everywhere in the Middle East.”
An Israeli attack on Iran would almost surely result in Iran attacking Israel, a war that the Bible says will happen in the latter years and latter days (Ezek. 38:8, 16).
Six, concerning the Mark of the Beast: on May 1, 2021, Dave Hodges reported on The Common Sense Show that New Zealand has just made Covid vaccinations mandatory without public notice, discussion, etc.
Seven, concerning persecution: Evangelist, Mike Gendron, bought a round-trip ticket from Texas to Green Bay on A.A. to speak at a conference.
Gendron said the only time he did not wear a mask was while he was drinking a cup of water, and no flight attendant ever asked him to put his mask on.
Two days later, when Gendron checked in at the airport to return to Texas, he was told he was banned from flying on A.A. for not wearing a mask on his trip to Green Bay.
An overnight hotel room and a ticket on another airline cost him another $600, and none of the money he paid A.A. for a round-trip ticket was refunded.
After a week of trying to straighten this out, A.A. stopped taking Gendron’s calls.
Why he was reportedly falsely banned for not wearing a mask is a matter of speculation.
Persecution of those that object to what is happening to America is intensifying almost daily.
Eight, A reader sent an e-mail reminding me that some past prophecy teachers have suggested that world leaders might use the Rapture to deceive people.
Several highly respected prophecy teachers speculated for years that globalists might promote the Rapture as an alien abduction to scare people into uniting against a threat from outer space and thereby accept a one-world government.
I consulted with a friend, and we agreed that it is time to remind people of this.
My friend even sent a link to an Apr. 30, 2021, article titled, “Pentagon whistleblower warns of UFO intelligence failure on ‘level of 911.'”
The whistleblower, a former Pentagon investigator, said there is something out there and U.S. citizens need to be told.
As it turns out, the U.S. government will release files on the subject in June.
Just know this: The Church will be removed from planet Earth by Jesus, not UFOs from outer space.
This is not to say that UFOs don’t exist or that people don’t need to know about them, but it is to say that people shouldn’t allow themselves to be deceived and scared into a world government because leaders have decided to admit that UFOs are not a conspiracy theory or because they have made up lies to convince people that a world government is needed to defend the planet.
The rise of the Antichrist over a Satanic world government is a greater threat than aliens from outer space.
Christians oppose a godless world government, but they support the coming world government of Jesus during the Millennium.
Christians oppose the false peace on earth that the Antichrist will promote, but they support the peace on earth that the Prince of Peace (Jesus) will establish.
Christians oppose the false religions of Mother Earth, the Green New Deal, Chrislam, etc., but they support the true teachings and worship of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as recorded in the Bible (God’s will).
Nine, concerning godless world government: the fact that the Democrat Party left God out of their Party Platform is now old news, and so is the fact that on Feb. 26, 2021, Jerry Nadler, a Democrat from New York, said, “What any religious tradition describes as God’s will is no concern of this Congress.”
It has now been reported that the National Day of Prayer will not be allowed at the U.S. Capitol for the first time in 70 years.
There was a request for prayer at the Capitol, but it was denied supposedly because the Capitol is closed due to the January 6 protests.
This writer believes prayer is badly needed, and the truth is that those that have taken over the Capitol support a godless world government.
The America that was based on Judeo-Christian values no longer exists.
Jesus said the day of His coming will be like the days of Noah (Matt: 24:37).
In the days of Noah, God saw that the wickedness of man was great. He was grieved and decided to destroy man with a Flood (Gen. 6:5-7).
Ten, on May 2, 2021, it was reported that California plans to release at least 76,000 inmates.
63,000 of them have been imprisoned for violent crimes and repeat felonies.
20,000 of them have been given life sentences with the possibility of parole.
10,000 of them have been imprisoned twice.
About 2,900 of them have been imprisoned 3 times under the state’s “three strikes law.”
Critics say putting thousands of criminals back on the streets will increase wickedness and criminal activity in California.
To make matters worse, police are retiring or quitting in record numbers all over the U.S. because of the “Defund the Police” movement, the liability, and the abuse and hatred that is being directed toward them.
Finally, if you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

Rory Gimore Reading Challenge
I put it there has a reminder to myself that I want to read more (so much more). The public library will be more accessible to me when I am going to be where I’m moving this summer, so, no excuses. Even if I should really work on my art more than on my reading. Would be nice if it could help me feel less... inadequate. Somehow. Just a little.

OPINION: Theft and armed rebellion are the only way the GOP can win, but Democrats must start using the power they have or they’ll be left empty-handed.
The Democrats have everything they need right now to flex their muscles and wield the power the people gave them — the White House, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
Their policies are popular, with the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 economic relief plan enjoying 76% support, including 60% of Republicans, and a majority in favor of doubling the minimum wage from $7.25 to $15.
Read More: Dems OK tighter income limits for COVID-19 stimulus checks
There is only one thing standing in the way of a President Joe Biden agenda and Democratic Party success — and that would be scared Democrats lacking a backbone and not wanting to make Republicans angry.

Black folks and others did not organize through the virus, go to the polls en masse and put it all on the line for this foolishness.
If President Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi fail to realize this, they must understand that they have an opportunity to make change for the people if they do not stand in their own way. Clinging on to a fiction of bipartisanship that has not existed in decades, if ever, some apparently are holding out for Republican support — white nationalist support — that will never come.
With a slim majority in the Senate and Vice President Kamala Harris as the tiebreaker, if the Democrats do not eliminate the filibuster requiring 60 votes to pass laws, they will lose everything.

John C. Calhoun, the father of the Confederacy who owned slaves and called slavery a “positive good” rather than an evil, developed the filibuster. White conservatives used the filibuster during slavery and Jim Crow segregation to maintain white minority rule, block civil rights, voting rights and anti-lynching laws for Black people.

The success of the Biden agenda hinges on the passage of COVID-19 relief, voting rights, minimum wage and other issues. Republicans will have none of it, even if these issues are popular with their own voters and will benefit them. The GOP will do everything it can to block reform.
The GOP plays to win and destroy their opponents, while the Dems want to play fair. Republicans bring guns to a knife fight, Democrats bring cream cheese. If Democrats keep the filibuster, they will provide their adversaries with the very weapons used in their own decapitation, and they will deserve every bit of it.

Republicans are like — no they are — the Southern segregationists who closed the all-white swimming pools or poured acid in the water rather than integrate them and allow Black people to dirty up the pool.
President Barack Obama learned this lesson the hard way but took far too long to learn it. He extended an olive branch to the GOP, who vowed to make him a one-term president and blocked anything and everything he attempted to do, including the Affordable Care Act.
Ultimately, Obama lowballed and watered down legislation as a compromise for Republicans that never came to the table. The Republicans blocked his judicial nominees, and when Donald Trump was elected, they rammed through unqualified recent law school graduates, white supremacists, keg-drinking frat boys with legitimate allegations of sexual abuse, and self-proclaimed handmaids on the court.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell speaks after a meeting with the Senate Republican caucus earlier this month. He has shown no intention of bringing the $2,000 stimulus-check bill to a Senate vote should it pass the House. (Photo by Sarah Silbiger-Pool/Getty Images)
Meanwhile, some of the enemies of change exist within the Democratic Party. Senators such as Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona oppose raising the minimum wage, scrapping the filibuster and other measures that would deliver to the people and help Democrats at the same time.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. warned us of these white moderates, our greatest stumbling block to freedom, who are “more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice” and will make us wait until a “more convenient season” to get that change.

With over half a million people dead from the coronavirus, and millions living in economic devastation, facing unemployment, poverty, homelessness, hunger and despair, the need for relief is greater than ever. There is no place for baby steps or a gradual transition, because the need is urgent, and the time for action is now.
Republicans will Jim Crow their way back to power if the Democrats allow them. Now, white nationalists in the GOP are engaged in voter suppression and gerrymandering, even laws to overturn presidential elections that will allow them to hold onto power even without majority support. In 43 states, there are over 250 bills to restrict voting.
Read More: Georgia GOP controlled House passes restrictions on voting
A Gwinnett county voter casts a ballot at Lucky Shoals Park polling station on November 3, 2020 in Norcross, Georgia. After a record-breaking early voting turnout, Americans head to the polls on the last day to cast their vote for incumbent U.S. President Donald Trump or Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. (Photo by Jessica McGowan/Getty Images)
In Georgia — where Black and Brown voters elected Joe Biden and sent a Black man and a Jewish man to the U.S. Senate — white nationalists in the state legislature have embarked on sweeping legislation to restrict absentee, early and weekend voting.
Like their Jim Crow ancestors who blocked the Black vote to “restore confidence…restore honesty and purity to the ballot-box,” these 21st-century segregationists also claim they want to “restore confidence in our voting system.” This, as the U.S. Supreme Court is poised to further attack the Voting Rights Act by greenlighting voter restrictions in Arizona.
A general view of the U.S. Supreme Court on June 30, 2020 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Stefani Reynolds/Getty Images)
Democrats can solve this right now if they pass H.R. 1, the For the People Act — which expands ballot access and reduces the influence of big money in politics — and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act — which prohibits racial discrimination in voting by strengthening the Voting Rights Act. Throw in federal court reform and D.C. statehood for good measure.
None of this is possible through attempted compromise with insurrectionists. Theft and armed rebellion are the only way Republicans can win, but Democrats must stop playing and start using the power they have if they don’t want to be left empty-handed.

Muppet Animated Series pitches by Darin McGowan
Seeing @iamallybee‘s post about the idea of a Muppet animated series reminded me of a Muppet Wiki post I found a while back. It took me awhile but I found the wiki page: http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Darin_McGowan_pitches
Animator and Muppet fan Darin McGowan developed a series of Muppet television projects which he formally proposed to The Jim Henson Company in 2004. McGowan developed and shared his ideas for three new animated television shows starring the Muppets with the creative team at Henson. After his pitch, McGowan was told that the company would not be going in the direction of animation for the core Muppet characters. Shortly thereafter, the Muppets were sold to the Walt Disney Company.
Now here were the show ideas he had in mind, plus his concept art for how the characters would look:
First up, and I really wish this one came to be: American Mayhem
The ghost of Dave Brubek visits Dr. Teeth in a dream and tells him that rock & roll was been ruined by too many "boy bands and barbie dolls". So, the Mayhem Band takes to the roads of America, touring from town to town delivering the message of rock & roll - finding a new problem in each town they visit.
I feel like this would’ve been a pretty interesting series, considering it was surrounding the Electric Mayhem, and I think the art style the characters are in is pretty cool (look at little Scooter!). There is an extreme lack of Lips, but maybe Darin didn’t know about him or decided to leave him out because maybe he thought fans wouldn’t recognize him. Other than that, this probably would’ve been a fun series to see, especially for you Electric Mayhem fans out there!
The second show pitch: Waiting for Kermit
Taking place during the years before Kermit the Frog showed up, this show focuses on individual Muppets in the confusing time of their lives before a certain frog straightened it all out for them - taking them on the road to fame and fortune.
I feel like this series was supposed to take place before The Muppet Movie, and maybe the events of the episodes would lead up to that point when they met Kermit, like Fozzie making his way to become a comedian, Miss Piggy entering beauty pageants, Gonzo starting his plumbling business, and maybe origins of the Electric Mayhem!
And the last Muppet series pitch: Muppets 75
Picking up just seconds after the end of The Muppet Movie, it is discovered that Lew Lord was an escaped lunatic only posing as a movie exec. When he is captured and taken back to the asylum, the Muppets are left on the streets of Hollywood, penniless, broken and trying to get by in the 1970’s.
Okay, the beginning plot of this series is kind of weird, but otherwise, this would’ve been a pretty interesting series to see. I feel like it would’ve been about how the Muppets’ lives together were before the Muppet Show. Like how did some of them form the bonds they did and how did they get along in life before rising to stardom, and maybe would’ve explained how these characters came up with their show.
So yeah, we ALMOST had three different Muppet Animated series. Do you think any of these shows could’ve done well? (I’d like to think American Mayhem and Waiting for Kermit would’ve)
