Dirty Ghanaian politics reduces the enviable reputation of Dr Frimpong Boateng to rags
Rapper Sarkodie once said, “Politics is evil; they have no love for the people,” and I kind of believe it resonates so well with the machinations fashioned by the NPP government against Dr Frimpong Boateng. From a revered heart surgeon to a former political figure whom his political apparatchiks are hunting, he leaves a sour taste in the mouths of those who have followed and admired his…

Ashgold goalie Frank Boateng refutes betting allegations linked with 6-1 defeat to WAFA
Goalkeeper for Ashanti Gold, Frank Boateng has refuted allegations that his team was involved in a betting scandal that resulted in their 6-1 defeat to WAFA in the Ghana Premier League.
The Miners locked horns with the Academy Boys last Sunday in what was a Match Week 12 fixture of the ongoing season.
At the end of the match, WAFA handed Ashgold the biggest defeat in its history on the back of a totally dominated performance.
At the end of the big loss, there have been assertions that players of the club were involved in some betting and hence took money to allow the home team to cruise to an easy win.
In an interview with Kumasi FM, Ashgold goalkeeper Frank Boateng has rubbished all the allegations.
“We have heard of it but I’m completely alien in this betting thing. It’s painful to hear people attach such a shameful act to you. I have no intention of ever doing that because I know there are consequences in doing that as a player”, the 25-year-old goalie indicated.
He continued, “I don’t know any player who’s into this but if there’s any, he must cease doing that to avoid such disgrace to us.”
“We were shuttled after the game and couldn’t fathom how we could lose by that margin against WAFA.”
“The supporters must still believe in us and keep supporting us, it is during this time that we need them. They should forgive us, we are sorry.”
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the club, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has asked the BNI to investigate the matter.

BNI starts investigations into Ashanti Gold's humiliating defeat to WAFA in GPL
Ashanti Gold SC bankroller Dr. Kweku Frimpong has revealed that the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has already commenced investigations into Ashanti Gold's humiliating 6-1 defeat to WAFA in match week 12 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Miners suffered their heaviest defeat in the top-flight at the Sogakope park as they dropped from the summit of the league table to the 4th position.
Dr. Kwaku Frimpong lambasted his technical bench and the playing body after the game and suspects foul play.
"I have told the BNI to investigate it. I sense elements of betting in the game," the club's President told Ashh FM.
"Even at the stadium, someone hinted it. My midfielders were walking throughout the game."
Meanwhile, Ashgold goalkeeper Frank Boateng has debunked betting allegations in their huge deefat over the weekend.
"We have heard of it but I’m completely alien in this betting thing. It’s painful to hear people attach such a shameful act to you. I have no intentions of ever doing that because I know there are consequences in doing that as a player," he said in an interview with Kumasi FM.

Dr. Kwame Kyei issues apology for using unprintable words on Kotoko players
Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr, Kwame Kyei has issued an apology to his players for using what he describes as unthinkable, immprintable , despicable,ill-thought and reprehensible comments.
At an emergency meeting between the bankroller of the Porcupine Warriors and the playing body, he descended heavily on them while charging them to stop playing 'village football'.
In addition, he told players that he will not mind dissolving the entire team if they do not up their game.
Full apology letter from Dr. Kwame Kyei below.
I sincerely apologise for the unthinkable, immprintable , despicable ,ill thought and reprehensible  comments I made during a crisis meeting with my workers at Asante Kotoko, at the Stadium hotel in the spare of the moment.
I respectfully and remorsefully retract the statement flatly and unreservedly.
I have been informed to learn from the handlers of mighty Accra Hearts of Oak and start comparing the status of my current Loyola to infant clubs like, Agozome Weavers, wamanafo mighty Royals,Pra Babies, Voradep and so on. I have taken this advice in peace and shall commit myself not to be overly ambitious and expectant.
I have spent huge sums of money on bribe and black power( Juju ) to win matches all to no avail.
It is an incontrovertible fact that I have through the actions and Inactions of my lieutenants in the club brought shame and ridicule to the Kotoko family and Ghana football at large
Like Akuffo Addo, I have in most cases been misled into buying players in the name of quality only to end up getting Adingra and Abege.
My plans are just to achieve and leave a legacy for Kotoko, again, like Akuffo Addo fighting galamsay, my Frimpong Boateng's are milking me at my blind side. As if that is not enough, my EKow Awusi has recorded my conversation with players to the media.
I had a lot of confidence in Maxwell Konadu but not knowing he had not added any value to himself apart from improving judiciously.
Kindly accept my apology as I try to exorcise myself from this mess.
    Yours in sport.
Signed
Prof  Dr Kyei
