#Dr Clef Breakdown

Clef as 'Clef', from what I've dug up, is not a SCP. From my understanding Doctors in themselves tend to not get their own SCP articles from their authors. It took Author Cimmerian till 7k con to make one for character Cimmerian and that is all because he was inches away from IRL death and wrote about it to cope (my opinion). There is another but keep in mind the ban shotgun goes hard here over that doctor being brought up by anyone but me.

Francis on the other hand, provided you follow the D.I.D. cannon, is a whole different animal and not so lovingly tucked into SCP-4231

(Trigger Warnings for SCP 4231. Uxoricide, SA leading to full on rape, torture, animal abuse, domestic abuse, child abandonment, victimization of the mentally ill, and I could probably go on with more but it makes me depressed thinking about it sometimes.)

Though, in respect, Alto Clef's facial changes could in fact have nothing to do with an anomalous ability manifested by him.

It has been noted in multiple stories that the G.O.C. would use their tools and tricks to, for a lack of terms, upgrade their units. I consider them magical cyborgs at times. Implants, tats, what have you to aid in their destruction of the unnatural. An example I give is Sam and Dean from Supernatural but they are on the low end of what is capable for the Global Occult Coalition. So theoretically there is a chance that Clef has 'magical'-based cybernetic implants which cause him to not be able to be photographed.

Though, as it is Clef, one of my favorite things about the character is the speculation of what he can and can not do. Some people believe he is a reality bender, some people believe he is so good at lying that he gaslights you into full believing these things are happening right before your eyes, some think he is the actual Satan. To paraphrase the wrestler Sting "The only thing for sure about Alto Clef is nothings for sure."

If there were to be a Clef SCP article ever written it should be left to Author. I personally don't think anyone should write it. He is one of the few men of mystery left. I am so bias on it that I wouldn't even write it unless anointed to do so and then it would have to pass the Triple C Test which is a whole story for another day.

Though again I don't think there needs to be a whole Clef article written about his past unless a team, and I am talking at least 5 people, work together and post an article for each member that are different from one another. Kind of like the whole '001 is a catch all because we cant let anyone know which is true and which are lies'.

we are very annoying on here about the “alto clef multiple personalities” thing but we want you all to know we are discussing something that legitimately exists on mainsite, even if its presence consists of quite literally three tales and a bag of corn chips. details under the cut, including a bunch of direct pull quotes

if you don’t know what a system means in this context, it’s a word for “multiple people in one body“, best known in the context of dissociative identity disorder/did or formerly multiple personality disorder; a short explanation including most relevant terms we’ll be using can be found here

did specifically, since it’s relevant to clef’s plurality per the wiki and isn’t explained in detail in the last link, is a form of systemhood associated with trauma that involves maladaptive dissociative symptoms including amnesia (aka time loss) and depersonalization/derealization (dp/dr)

despite the fantasy framing, this (kind of bizarrely) does seem to be an attempt to specifically portray did; clef is depicted having a severe dp/dr episode during upswing of disorder:

Random scp headcanons/ fic ideas I’ll probably never get around to fleshing out

• if there is ever an invention that could let 166 wear clothes and not break out in rashes, she would go absolutely apeshit when it comes to clothes. I’m talking ball gowns to the grocery store, pastel uwu at breakfast and full on cyber goth by dinner, there is nothing she won’t try. She inherited her dad’s sense of style (or lack of) and her brain is just looping “don’t stop me now” as she clears out every shop in a hundred mile radius

And rest assured, that big ol paycheck her dad is getting? Yeah he’s eating cheap ramen all day every day cause when she came up like “dad, this Japanese clothing brand I like is releasing these 300$ dresses and I want one!”he was just like “k.” And bought Every Single Color They Had Just Because He Could.

• 035 and 049 have a secret handshake and it’s just gotten longer over the years so now they can barely remember it and it takes like five minutes to complete so in the middle of a breach they’re just in the hallway doing a stupid dance and smacking their hands together and then pausing like “wait were we supposed to smack our ankles together at this part or is that after we link elbows and spin around?”

• why does sire 19 have so mane breached? Cause the scp’s have a weird information ring and have absolutely got the low level staff wrapped around their fingers. They could leave any time they please but honestly given some of the GOI they’re not exactly looking to take chances if they don’t have to. • fic idea: lets appreciate Peanut and read way too far into some dumb meme I saw and now can’t stop thinking abt: sometimes there’s just random words or phrases smeared on the wall of 173’s cell. Usually it’s just “die” or “stop” or the occasional “I hate you”. Most of the staff thought it was a prank by Bright but no one was entirely sure, especially after the incident when “what did you do”, “where is he”, “only one” and “why why why” showed up all on the same day. They covered every wall, as if Peanut had a mental breakdown the night before or something.

More people defected from the Bright theory after that cause he did not take that one well at all. He’d already been in a bad mood that day, having got some kind of bad news. That was the first time most of the staff had seen him actually truly, viscerally upset. “Couldn’t hide it if he wanted to” upset. He was inconsolable.

Reportedly, when he saw the words, he muttered under his breath, “oh my god how did you even know, I only just heard this morning. He wasn’t fucking with me... you really are... oh my god...”

No words have appeared since... and given the chaotic nature of the foundation, it could have been any number of people and events that corresponded to the messages. But the main theory is it had something to do with Dr. Clef, as Clef took a weird interest in Peanut for a while, although even then no one seems to agree on why the messages were there on that day.

Some think that Peanut can see the future and saw Clef’s death, some think that bright had gotten news about Clef doing something majorly fucking dumb and getting in trouble, and that somehow the scp’s have access to that information (this ties in with how the site has so many fuckin breaches), others think there’s more to Clef’s abilities and there was some kind of distress call.

What actually happened? I dunno I haven’t written the fic and probably won’t!

I think when Draven joined to be an MTF some people were just staring at him when his name was called, Agent Kondraki (he just kinda chalked it up to being the new guy around and ignored it).....makes sense now cause his dad is also here and he is very infamously known. Also Clef just leaving the moment he sees the two, like...not his problem. My own hc thrown in but, Clef being his MTF instructor, I think that would be interesting, fun, and horrible
