Honestly, DOD funding & de-funding films, and the movies that reject DOD funds (bc then there is literally military oversight of your script, direction, and editing every step of the way, to make sure it's positive passive propaganda) is fascinating, mainly because it's horrifying.
It's not overt propaganda, but any movies with like a lot of military vehicles, or military extras, or where a character goes out of their way to mention military training (generally in a way that makes them look badass, but is otherwise 100% irrelevant to the plot), especially ones that name-drop real military agencies vs. fictional ones (the CIA vs. the BPRD, for example)? They probably cashed some fat military checks while not having to pay to rent trucks, hire extras, borrow uniforms, etc.
Same thing goes for media featuring cops, though there's generally more leniency just because police departments don't sponsor media the way the DOD ponies up for military projects. But even in stories about dirty cops & corruption, it's rare for the whole system & its participants to be indicted. Because there's money in continuing to press the message that the military & police are forces for good. And that money comes from those agencies themselves, as an investment in & insurance on public perception/public relations.

OK, there's three areas of Superman and Lois that I'm finding increasingly infuriating.
1) Lois and Lucy. Here's the thing to remember - we now know that Ally Alston is the baddie.  There's no longer any question of that. So there' no need to have any more scenes where Lois seems to go too hard, and she (and the audience) has another "Am I in the wrong here?" moment. Ally is the baddie, and Lucy is wrong for siding with her.  So there's no need to make Lois seem like a bully.
Lucy was the one who instigated talking about Ally, and Lois just jumped in with two feet, all confrontational and "I'm trying to protect you, there's stuff you don't know". Which, I hasten to add, in this situation, she DOES.  But somehow she comes out of the scene seeming the bad guy.
I think that scene could have been fixed with two additional lines.  Lois could have paused and said something to the effect of, "I really want to have this conversation with you, but we're having such a good time, and everyone's happy to see you, let's have it a little later."  And then Lucy could have doubled down, insisted on talking more, and THEN Lois could lose her temper a bit, and Lucy would read it as pushing her away, etc, and then stormed off.  Same result, but would have put the blame more clearly on Lucy's zeal for Allston.
2) Space Drugs. I've been going on about this one for weeks, now.  I find it incomprehensible that Jonathan would take drugs at all, let alone drugs based on a form of Kryptonite, one that cause total upheaval in the the town and the world mere weeks before.  I can imagine any number of ways to do this that would get the plot line going and not basing it on this level of stupidity. Perhaps his girlfriend doping his protein shakes with it or something, in an attempt either to "help" him, or to get a new customer.  Then he could legitimately think he's getting powers, and the intimations of "roid rage" we're seeing would be harder to explain. Then we could have the fairly obvious plot twist of it having unexpected effects on his half-Kryptonian anatomy.
3) Lt Gen Anderson, Professional Jerk - This one is fucking infuriating. From the moment he was introduced, Anderson was clearly supposed to be hated by the audience. The idea that Superman should leave North Korean submarines on the bottom of the sea to die is simply psychotic.  So for this guy to use Superman's entry into Russia to save a village from an avalance is a sign that this guy is a nut.  He allegedly got permission for the move, but I suspect he just got a blanket "do what you gotta do" from his boss. Clearly the reason Sam Lane heard about this was one of his contacts reached out and said "You won't believe what this asshole just did".
The way this SHOULD go is Sam and Lois leak the news to the press, the world loses its mind that the DOD would brand Superman as a traior for a humanitarian mission, Anderson is clapped in irons, and someone who is not drunk with power is put in his place. It should all be sorted before the next episode.  But sadly, I know that's not how it's going to go, and this guy is going to continue to infuriate us for weeks to come.
