Karai jr. things just for me

Figures out she's trans a year after Leo adopts her (so at age seven) and she decides on the name Karai after Leo suggests it. She knows how cool this woman is. She wants to be her.

Spends years training so she can be a hero like her dad, and is even encouraged to, but as she reaches her mid teens he starts to get over protective instead

This causes her to start feeling out of place

Even more so thanks to a lot of bullying she deals with at school that she almost never talks about to seem tough and put together

Thus she struggles to actually figure out her ninpo and for a while tries to get mystic powers from other means (but most of it doesn't work)

Gets her emotional constipation from her father, this sometimes lead to massive arguments cause they won't just fuckin openly talk to each other

They still love each other more than anything tho

Karai was abandoned by her birth father who was abandoned by his wife and he wound up leaving her in the woods, Todd found her initially and Leo was foolishly like "Hey kid wanna see my cool super hero hide out?" once and then never let her go

Karai's emotional constipation also causes her to have beef with Comet sometimes, because Comet is always trying to patch up emotional turmoil (or at the very least dig around for the cause)

Her favorite aunt/uncle is Casey (senior obvs)

Gets them wild alchemy hormones from Draxum like Casey jr. does asldkfj

Likes her hair long but due to Reasons that I actually do elaborate on in a fic, it looks very jaggedy and messy at sixteen

Eventually when it evens out she keeps a permanent blue streak in her hair to mirror her dad's mask tails

Confession time, but before I started looking into mobility aids for myself, I thought similarly to Leo. So if that’s also what you thought, the important thing is you know now! Disability is a spectrum, so never assume someone is faking, that they “don’t look disabled” or “aren’t disabled enough”. Mobility aids are there for anybody who needs them. If a mobility aid helps them, it’s not anyone’s place to judge them for it.

Okay, character development wise, YES. I’ve been rewatching the entire 2003 series for the past few weeks, watching little at a time, and I really see the changes in Leo. I love it. And I love him fr fr

I think his personality is really strong! He has more substance to him and really is a great version of Leo!

Design wise, not much to go off? I think the white film for eyes for the turtles is actually a great touch for this installment, so brownie points for that (:

I LOVE 2012 LEO IDC HES MY FAVORITE.

like his personality???? I love it. He’s not some stressed out mf turtle who tries to be Mr. Perfect all the time. He actually has SUBSTANCE. I live for it.

His design is rly nice! I noticed that his eyes are more slanted than his brothers, and his blue eyes are the cutest yall.

As for character development, one of the best aside from 2003 leonardo, I loved his growth from a nervous leader to a more confident one who knows he can get shit done!!!

Idk something about this Leo rubs me the wrong way personality wise? Like this version of Leo and the 2007 Leo both said some shit that seemed so not him given the situation?

He knew how much being human meant to Raph and Mikey but immediately said that their opinions didn’t matter, only his. Which I really didn’t like, it made me hate him a lil LMAO

Whilst 2007 Leo said he was better than Raph, which I feel like 2012 and 2003 Leo would never ever say out loud. I didn’t like that at all from bay Leo & 2007 Leo

Character development…meh. It’s a movie, it moves quick. I WISH we got a 3rd movie but Yk 😐😐😐my opinion may be different

As for design, this might be what saves him LMAO

I love love LOVE the tattoos on the brothers, & I like that Leo has the most! Not only that, but they kept him with blue eyes! THANK YOU.

I also like his lil fit, I’m (very) happy they decided to put clothes on the turtles. It seems more natural. Of course they’d wear clothes when outside, they’d probably feel naked without it.

There's four million people in the Twin Cities metro area, but the population of Minneapolis proper in only a little over 400,000. St. Paul is about 300,000. So the majority of us don't live anywhere near these lines lol. I think the majority of people who use the rail are U of M students. There's some bus lines but at least out here in the suburbs I've really only known disabled people to use them.

You see why we all need cars in the US?

Staten Island is a lot smaller than the other boroughs of NYC (lmao, it has the same population as Minneapolis) and a lot less dense, plus I think the depth of the bay between them and Brooklyn makes it pretty much impossible to connect them to the greater NYC subway system. The joke about Donnie and Leo ragging on Staten Island is a real thing apparently, and that delights me.

#I don’t blame your mom getting on a train for the first time can be scary#The subway is not as bad but can still be intimidating if you’re not used to it#usually there are timetables hung up telling you what train comes where#Most trains are way safer & faster than cars#but also in a big city you might not wanna get on one at night#U might get harassed for money#at Night I would prefer the car anywhere#but during the day or in a well lit area; trains are superior#even if u take a wrong one; if they come in 5 min intervals you can just take the next one back#My mom would also never take the train but that’s because she says trains are for poor people

Lmao dude the thing is it is absolutely not the first time she's ever been on a train. My parents lived in DC before I was born. My mom's been to NYC and London and taken their subways before. I think old people just get more and more argumentative or something as they age and want to be taken care of more, because my mom is constantly asking for help and then does everything in her power to make it difficult for you to help her.

I'd absolutely take a train if it was at all feasible where I live. I just got a thing from my car insurance and somehow they have my car listed as being worth 12k. Which I think is what my dad paid for it when he bought it new in 2006 or something, but I most certainly wouldn't be able to sell it for that now. I told my mom that if I actually could get 12k for it, I most definitely wouldn't still have a car.

They do take the subway in that episode where they return the DVD. They wear ridiculous outfits and absolutely no one cares. (and I think Leo canonically gets molested?) I mean, it's NYC. People have seen weirder, and they got places to be.

I'm seriously crying, I know it's probably much more straightforward if you have more than a TMNT and Brooklyn 99 fan's knowledge of the city, but to me this looks like witchcraft. It looks like you'd need a PhD to decipher this.

Bc I love Rise disaster twins, they r so fun and skrunkly, and then looking from rise to 2012 tmnt, it rly gives me a better appreciation for their dynamic in 2012. Sure it's a lot different but I'm jus... hhhh

Leo makes fun of Donnie obviously but it's much tamer than Mikey or Raph, and Leo (most of the time) knows when to cut it out if Donnie's having a bit too much. And Donnie is the only one who takes Leo even a little seriously, Raph is always second guessing him, and Mikey could care less about plans and safety, but Donnie is level headed enough to realize they do need a plan and a leader. And HHHHH THEY.
