Just Read: Viper's Dream by Jake Lamar
This book is set in Harlem and follows a man know to the neighborhood as, Viper. This book is fueled with emotion, jazz, and blues.
Currently Reading: You Make It Feel Like Christmas by Donna Hill & Francis Ray
Just in time for the holidays, I am getting in the spirit and reading You Make It Feel Like Christmas which includes two stories within the one book: Rockin' Around that Christmas Tree and The Wish. So far, so good and definitely putting me in the holiday mood!
To-Read: Our Secret Society by Tanisha C. Ford
I have had this book on my list for quite a while and will finally tackle it. This story details the life of Mollie Moon and her great contributions to the Civil Rights movement and much, much more.

I will never understand why everyone is so determined to exempt henry from any blame and try to gaslight themselves and everyone else into thinking he did no wrong. "Richard is an unreliable narrator so he actually lied to make him seem bad" "richard was the one who killed bunny" "actually julian was pulling the strings" "bunny had it coming though" "but charles was worse" "did i mention richard was an unreliable narrator" ENOUGH you guys dont even like henrys character dont lie you just like the idea, the aesthetic of him

literally almost fell down and died thinking that. from harvey’s perspective every time he and donna get Close or Something happens between them he gets rejected
he flirts with her at the das office, she tells him she doesn’t sleep with coworkers. they sleep together after they leave the DAs office and (im like 90% sure its her that says) that if they are going to work together at pearson hardman it means they cant sleep together anymore. he tells her HE LOVES HER. AND SHE LEAVES HIM FOR LOUIS. (which like obviously was absolutely her right to do objectively but im saying from his perspective he equates telling her how he feels to her LEAVING him.) (WHICH MEANS HES NEVER GONNA DO IT AGAIN.) then she even KISSES HIM and then tells him it didn’t mean anything to her . literally anytime anything happens between them it ends with her rejecting him

My dad just got hit by a bus. And it broke his neck and now he's dead. I gotta pick up my mom and bring her to the morgue so she can identify his body. No I'm not kidding. This is actually happening. And now I'm high on crack.
6.1. When my brother died (unexpectedly) his widow couldn't find a phone number for me among his papers until two weeks later. While I swept my porch and bought apples and sat by the window in the evening with the radio on, his death came wandering slowly towards me across the sea.
5.6. When my parents died I chose not to eat but to burn them. Then buried the ashes under a stone cut with their names. For my brother I had no choice, I was a thousand miles away. His widow says he wanted to be cast in the sea, so she did this. There is no stone and as I say he had changed his name.
On finding things to do instead of eating your dead family
