We had dinner at Han Mi Jeong Korean Restaurant this past Tuesday.  Han Mi Jeong is located inside the Richlane Mall on Leslie north of 16th in Richmond Hill.  I had always wanted to try out this small Korean restaurant after passing by it in this mall.   (more…)

Another early August double birthday makan, this time at Candy Store, Newmarket. Co-birthday celebrant was reluctant to try out this Newmarket gem but when she saw the menu, she was won over. When the Prawn Dumpling Soup was served, she knew she had come to the right place to celebrate her birthday with Pakcik. The soup had prawn dumpling, fish ball, bok choy, spring onion, seaweed cracker, pork bone broth & tofu. she even sent compliments to the chef. Took Lady Rosemary to the new Simon & Lee In her neighbourhood of Parnell. Oliver Simon and David Lee (of Major Sprout) have collaborated to bring us this most impressive eatery, with the menu drawing on Korean influences. Lady R had the Mandu Prawn Dumplings in an egg flower broth. I had the Dolsot (hot stone bowl) Bimbimbap with sides of gochujang and kimchi.
