TS4 Dojima House - Persona 4 - 30x20 (NO CC)
The Dojima house from Persona 4 built as accurately as possible. Dojima and Nanako have their own bedrooms, and there's a toilet and bath as well. Everything should be fully functional. The house by itself can fit on a 20x15 lot (without the garden or car). Be sure to use bb.moveobjects and all the debug cheats before placing. Enjoy!

I decided that instead of doing Febuwhump this year, I'm going to focus on finishing some works in progress. I have six over five fandoms (not counting anthologies like Dad Gum, which are ongoing sets of loosely connected stories and not concrete plots) that I'm planning on completing over the next three months or so (none of the old Supernatural ones...I haven't fully abandoned them yet, but most of the information is on an old laptop that I can get to boot up once a blue moon).
Info in full under the cut, with links to the fics in question, but I wanted to put up a little poll to gauge some interest (if anyone sees this lol)
1: Think of Me (Miraculous Ladybug) (Stronger Together series) Summary: Life finally seems to be settling down for Adrien Agreste. He's settling in to life in the Dupain-Cheng house, planning a memorial service for his mother, and spending his days protecting the city with Ladybug as Chat Noir. One day their United Heroez liaison, Nightlock, is attacked on the way to their regular rendezvous, and when they step in to rescue her Chat Noir finds himself separated from Ladybug as Nightlock's enemies close in on them. Chapters: 1 of 3 posted, might change to 4 or 5 chapters
This was originally part of a hurt/comfort bingo challenge that I couldn't finish, which is why it might end up longer now that I don't have the same time constraints.
2: House of Cards (Persona 4) Summary: When Ryotaro Dojima finds out that Yosuke is having a hard time at home, he doesn't hesitate to open his home to his nephew's friend. He may not know the kid very well, but he'll sleep a whole lot better knowing Yosuke's safe under his roof than living out on the streets of Inaba. Chapters: 1 posted, just started planning to expand it into a larger story. Probably 5 or 6 chapters at the end.
This is another bingo story, but I really liked the idea and wanted to expand on it. (No, *you* are the sucker for gruff father figures taking care of troubled teenagers, Dojima is not a substitute Aizawa)
3: Titan One (Resident Evil) Summary: Chris Redfield joins the DSO on an important operation--rescuing Leon S. Kennedy Chapters: 1 of 2
This one goes all the way back to Febuwhump2024. I left that challenge after the way the administrator reacted to anyone asking about reblogs, so this story was never finished. It just needs a second chapter to tell more of the story from Leon's perspective.
4: The Boar and the Hare (Fire Emblem: Engage) (A Conspiracy in Stone series) Summary: Alcryst wakes up, troubled by the lingering scars to both his body and mind. While Diamant and Citrinne urge him to speak about his ordeal, Morion and his wife face further treachery from within the castle. With implications rising against those they've put their trust in, a kidnapper in the dungeon with his own despicable motivations, and the possibility of a shadowy threat from the distant past facing them, they may be facing the greatest challenge of their lives. Chapters: 1 of 2, possibly changing to 3
Ran out of time during Whumptober...oh, goodness, 2023! Yeah, I'd say it's time for an update! This series is set in Diamant and Alcryst's younger days, after Alcryst was betrayed by someone close to him and nearly carried off to Elusia to be used as a bargaining chip for Brodia's emblem ring.
5: You and Me (Fire Emblem Awakening) Summary: I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once. Moments in time of a life lived together, of a bond that surpassed destiny, of a love that conquered all. Chapters: 5 of 12
My YOTP entry for 2023 (I'm noticing a pattern...2023 was a bad year for writing). I have the entire story planned out, I just couldn't finish it. It's part a retelling of the events of Awakening and part a new story, focused on Chrom and male Robin.
6: A Hundred Lifetimes (Fire Emblem Awakening) Summary: In time after time, in life after life, Chrom and Robin will always find each other. This is thirty-one of those times. Chapters: 10 of 31
This one was a little bit of an ambitious project for Whumpcember 2023. My goal was 31 AU stories of Chrom and male Robin, and I had a lot of them planned out but kind of lost steam. I've always wanted to finish this, though it might not be during the next few months. There are some really interesting AUs in here, though. My favorites are the wildlands AU (chapter 10) and the one that started life as "idk Chrom has a motorcycle lol" (chapter 4)
I'm hoping to finish all of these (with the except of Hundred Lifetimes, maybe) by the end of March, so if you see something you like keep an eye out!

Persona 4 - Inaba Setting Guide
Happy New Years!
This is all written up from the lore/setting/etc books that Atlus released for fans, Persona Club P4 and the Golden Premium Fan/Fun Book. I didn't wanna do a 1:1 translation because this is multiple full text pages from two books so this is more like a summary or tl;dr of what's in the books.
Tumblr media
I put this under a read more because it's a looot of text. I will probably inevitably edit something later when I realize I made a dumb typo.
General / Meta stuff not in the book that I feel the need to note first
Is Inaba a "town" or a "city"? Inaba is Inaba city (市). The qualifications to become a city are having ~50k residents and 60%+ of the central area being homes. Per the Premium book, Inaba does indeed have 50k citizens. The characters in-game also call it a town/neighborhood/area (町). (Think how in English, we have sayings like "back in town" even when we're not talking about towns?)
Inaba is not a real city, but Atlus lists multiple inspirations for it: Fuefuki, which they drove to randomly and spoke to people; Tottori, which is where the legend of the Hare of Inaba is said to have taken place and is where names like "Yasogami" come from (and it also used to have an Inaba province); and "an unnamed developer's hometown" which was used as a reference for the central shopping district and the area around the Dojima house.
A briefer on the Hare of Inaba: A hare tricks a bunch of sharks (wanizame or same) into lining up so it can cross their backs to get to the mainland. The hare is an idiot so it proclaims that it deceived the sharks, and the last shark takes a chunk out of it. Meanwhile, Okuninushi and his brethren (collectively known as the Yasogami) come across the hare on their way to woo a princess. The Yasogami troll the shit out of the hare and makes its back worse, but Okuninushi actually helps the hare by telling it to roll in cattail, and this cures the hare. The hare then reveals it is actually a god, and Okuninushi is given the princess's hand in marriage.
From here on, anything from me that I felt like I needed to note or give my Unwanted Opinion on is wrapped in ( )s.
History
Sengoku period: A feudal lord built a castle on Mt. Yasogami, the highest mountain in the area, and a castle town formed at the base of the mountain. The area was never caught up in any of the major wars or battles of the Sengoku period.
Edo period: After the warring period ended, people began traveling to Inaba because of the hot springs. One winter, someone living in the castle started a fire, it went out of control, and the castle burnt down. The feudal lord's family returned to their old territory and left Inaba.
Meiji period: After the black ships, Japan's opening, Perry, etc, coal was in high demand. Coal was discovered in Mt. Yasogami, people began to move there to work in the coal mines, and this was when Inaba became Inaba City. Presently, many of the people living in Inaba are 2nd and 3rd generation descendants of these coal miner families.
Showa period: During the later end of the Showa era, the world swapped from using coal to using oil. The coal refineries began closing, and by the 1980s, the coal mine also closed, people began to move away, thus leading to the current state of Inaba during the time of P4.
Modern Day
Inaba has around 50k citizens
The city center is a flat area surrounded by mountains called Yasoinaba (so Yasoinaba is a region/district within Inaba, not the other way around)
The local plant is cattail (see the bit about the Hare of Inaba) and there is a lot of cattail that grows downstream on the Samegawa
The local animal is the rabbit and many facilities have rabbit decorations (Namatame's family's delivery service also uses a rabbit with a mail bag)
There has been a recent push to make Inaba Beefsteak a thing as part of the revitalization of Inaba efforts, but... since they have no local cows or beef farms, people don't know where the meat comes from, causing there to be rumors about the meat in town... Atlus notes that it really is beef, but it is unknown where it comes from...
Transport in Inaba
Inaba is sandwiched between other larger urban places (think a metropolis like Tokyo), but the closest one is 3 hours away even by train so Inaba isn't really a place you live in while commuting during the day for work to a bigger city
The only train station in the south part of the city is Yasoinaba Station which is the central/headquarters-like station for the local train line, the Inaba Line
Yasoinaba Station is last stop on the Inaba Line, and the stop before it is called East Inaba. Okina is also somewhere on the Inaba line.
The Inaba Line doesn't take you to straight to one of the highly populated urban areas. You also have to transfer to another train at the Yasogami Hills train terminal (the protag does this in the opening anime movie)
There are only a few bus routes: Less used ones that go north/south and connects the city area with Mt. Yasogami, and others go east/west and connect Inaba with other cities. (Shu's house, the hospital, the Amagi Inn, and the outdoor daycare are all known bus stops. In Arena, Nanako also takes the bus to the train station.)
Even though most people get around by car, the national highway - access to the outside world - only runs for 300m at the southern edge of the city, and there's no regular expressways to quickly take you to other nearby cities
Overall, people tend to live their lives within the confines of the city
Yasogami Hills and Mt. Yasogami
The mountains in Inaba, with the tallest being Mt. Yasogami, are collectively known as the Yasogami Hills
Somewhere in the Yasogami Hills is a hot spring resort district and this is where the Amagi Inn plus other hot springs are located
The Amagi Inn has 30 rooms, half of which are located in a building detached from the main building so that guests can enjoy the mountains
The ski resort visited in Golden is located somewhere on Mt. Yasogami
The Samegawa
Named after the Hare of Inaba tale and how the hare tricked the "wanizame" or "same"; name meaning "shark river"
The Samegawa runs north and south through Inaba
Downstream to go fishing, upstream takes you to the source of the river on Mt Yasogami
Halfway up the mountain, near the headwaters, is a campsite which is frequented by fishers and outdoors lovers
Upstream, you can drink from the water at the source, but it's too cold to go swimming in even in summer (recall the June camping trip)
It is very specifically a "Class B river system"
Yasogami High School
Name comes from Okuninushi's bros in the Hare of Inaba tale, the Yasogami (Yasogami means "eighty gods" but that was figurative language where 80 means "a bunch", so the meaning is more like "many gods highschool")
Built in 1944 as Yasogami Military School. It was built on Mt. Yasogami where the castle used to stand to deter the allied forces from fire bombing Mt. Yasogami, thus using the school / students as a shield for the coal mine. After the war, it became a normal school, though there is still a plane on campus as a memento of when it was a military facility.
The JP name is 八十神高等学校. The school's nickname is 八高, derived from 2 characters in the full name. This is pronounced "Hachiko". (I think this was removed from the English version entirely, but if you ever play in Japanese audio and wonder why students say "Hachiko" sometimes...)
During the coal mining period, there were lots of students and the two buildings (what we know as the classroom bldg and the practice bldg in-game) were both classroom buildings. After the mines closed -> less people -> less births, they renovated the unused classrooms into vocational / practice rooms. This is how Yasogami High ended up with so many different things in the practice building lol.
There is a small baseball field in addition to the other outdoor facilities. (I don't think we see this in-game)
The book notes that there is not actual rule explicitly stating that girls can't wear a boys uniform.
You aren't allowed to ride a scooter to school, but according to Daisuke in one of the Strength hangouts (or so says the book; I don't think I've seen this hangout), people do so secretly.
Students have to get permission from school to get a part-time job. They're allowed as long as it doesn't interfere w/studies and the job is age appropriate.
The cultural festival is open to people outside of school, thus it is treated like an event similar to the shrine festival. Businesses from around Inaba also set up stalls at the festival and get into friendly competition with one another.
Many students who graduate from the school tend to stay in Inaba and get jobs there. Attending Yasogami High gives you an advantage / favoritism over students from private schools when job hunting.
Dojima Residence
A house that was built anywhere from a few years to decades ago
It's located in west Inaba
It's not a family home, Dojima bought it
The house has 3-4 bedrooms, exact number not given
The garden outside was started by Chisato, but of course it's been left alone since she passed
If the protagonist eats Nanako's pudding, she will just assume she ate it and forgot about it............................................... (I don't think Adachi would even do this shit.................................)
Junes
The store opened within the previous year
The manager is Yosuke's dad, Yoichi Hanamura
Many students and housewives work there part-time
Students make 690 yen per hr, adults make 900 yen per hr, but Yosuke is worked like a dog for 400 yen per hr
1F has the grocery department and a line of small specialty shops
2F has the clothing department and home appliances department
The part in July where you find Teddie on a massage chair is part of a special event space where they demo new products. Oh, and the Death SLink, Hisano, wins one of those massage chairs after submitting poetry for Junes' anniversary
The roof has the food court, children's land, and an event stage
1F with the grocery department is open 24/7 and they put out prepared foods every day at 4pm / 7pm / 10pm
The food court has a special called the Ultra Young Set (JP name from the JP slogan) or the Meat Lovers Combo (Eng) that has salisbury / hamburg steak, beefsteak, menchi katsu, and fried chicken; people besides Chie who eat this will be blessed with heartburn. In a dungeon chat, Yosuke wonders if it's made using fox meat since it's so cheap, but it's actually from cows and chickens at farms that Junes has partnered with.
Junes is located in the south area of Inaba and is accessible for people passing through on the national highway, bringing them customers who are passing by, Inaba locals, and even people from Okina
Junes doesn't sell Teddie's favorite snack, Homerun Bars (a real ice cream product, localized as Topsicles in English), so he spends his Junes paychecks buying them at Shiroku
Central Shopping District - South Map
Yomenaido Bookstore: The owner's family name is Yomenai, meaning "can't read". They didn't realize how much of a mismatch their name was for a bookstore until after they opened. At first they were concerned about their business, but have begun stocking books for their own tastes and hobbies, drawing other enthusiasts of certain hobbies to their store. Thus, the majority of books in the store are ones that the average person "can't read". ba-dum-tsh
Daidara Metalworks: JP name is "Metalworks Daidarabocchi", with the bocchi written as a dot (e.g. "Daidara。") Daidara makes pieces of art.
Shiroku Store: Shi and roku mean 4 and 6, and the name comes from an old story about there being a toad with 4 front legs and 6 back legs called the Shiroku Toad. It was originally a pharmacy and medicine seller (the shiroku toad was said to have medicinal purposes), but now the store sells a bunch of whatever. The capsule machine outside was handmade by Shiroku's deceased husband.
Marukyu Tofu: A tofu store that sticks to old-fashioned simple tofu recipes (my opinion here, but I believe this is why it's still around after Junes opened). Run by Rise's grandmother. The people in Inaba call her grandmother "Marukyu" as a nickname (in-game dialogue, the nickname is written differently than the sign on the store). Due to her old age, she has been open less hours and making less product. But once Rise comes back to town, she helps out at the store, and her grandma is back to making more tofu and staying open longer. Rise is in charge of (uhh insert word used in fishmongering that seems to express Rise is in charge of selling?) the first batch of tofu in the morning before school, leading to male customers lining up early.
Central Shopping District - North Map
Souzai Daigaku: The name means Prepared Foods University. It used to be a lingerie store until the new owners took over. They made it a butcher, then converted it into a store that sells prepared foods that are "a taste of mom's home cooking". But in a small place like Inaba, people aren't exactly nostalgic for that, compared to the big city. The owner later added beefsteak skewers to the menu, claiming they're 80% beef, 20% something else, thus fueling the "what is the meat in Inaba?!" conspiracies. Due to its cheap prices, it's popular with students.
Marutake: A small hobby shop where the protagonist receives Gundam / Avatar Turner reference plastic models to build. The owner works on farmland during the day and his daughter attends Yasogami High.
Aiya: It used to be an oil store, but now it's a Chinese restaurant claiming to be authentic Shanghai style food. However, the owner is a Mr. Nakamura (hence why Aika in P4 anime's last name is Nakamura) who was born and raised in Inaba. On rainy days, Nakamura serves the Special Meat Bowl which has 3kg "meat" and 3kg rice. The meat is pork (the dish isn't called the Mega Beef Bowl in JP), but when asked what it is, Nakamura replies that it's "authentic Chinese cuisine: sheep head and dog meat" which is referring to the expression "selling dog meat under a sheep head", a saying about selling misleading products. (Btw, the owner speaks in Kyowago, saying Aiyaaaa and ending his sentences in "aru". But during say, Kanji's Social Link, he drops the act. So yes, he is LARPing as a Chinese guy.)
Tatsuhime Shrine: The deity enshrined is Toyotamahime, who's true form is similar to a wanizame (refer back to the hare of inaba story), and story is similar to that of Izanagi and Izanami. She protects against water-related disasters (she comes from an undersea palace) and offers safe childbirths (her story involves her giving birth to Hoori's child). The fox that lives on the shrine grounds heals with Inaba's local plant, cattail.
(If you are wondering about the fox in general, the fox statues at the smaller sub-shrine suggest it is dedicated to Inari Okami, so the fox IMO is a messenger of Inari - not literally, but hey. The red apron/bib it wears is based on the red votive bibs that you find on statues at shrines to ward off evil spirits.)
Tatsumi Textiles: An older store from the Meiji era, from when people used to dye fabrics in the clean streams of the Samegawa. The previous owner, Kanji's father, was a famous dyer. (I believe this is why the store is doing well for itself despite the Junes invasion.)
Konishi Liquors: Saki and Naoki's family's store. Saki was working at Junes as she thought the experience would one day help when she takes over the liquor store. They had been doing poorly lately, but a lot of people began visiting out of sympathy after Saki's death. The store is named after former battle planner and now composer Toshiki Konishi whose family owns a liquor store called Konishi Liquor. The name was used as a placeholder during development and it ended up sticking. (Thus, the YouTube comments on Konishi's remix of Fog talking about "remixing a song that your killer dances to" are kind of on-point...)
And now for the non-Inaba locations visited during Persona 4, because those were included in the Town Guide too lol
Tatsumi Port Island
Kashiwagi books the class to stay at Hotel Hamaguri, the renamed version of the love hotel from Persona 3. Instead of a love hotel, it's now a regular hotel. (The decor, however...) Teddie appears on the building opposite the group and impersonates Takaya with two cats as his Jin and Chidori (Teddie even gets a weapon called the Strega Claw lol)
Two years ago before Rise made it big as an idol, she had an invite-only / secret live at Club Escapade. Due to a power outage, they had to cancel the show. This was caused by a mechanical failure and was not the night when SEES fought the Hermit Shadow. (IIRC, Shinji mentions the club had issues with the power -- due to the Hermit Shadow -- leading up to full moon mission, so it might be that?)
Club Escapade quit serving alcohol last year to protest drunk driving
Akinari's book, the Pink Alligator, was published after Mitsuru found it among a certain person's things. True to the story itself, people like it, but no one knows who the real author is...
One of the Kirijo Group's companies is Kirijo Telecom. Dojima's cell phone service is through this company. When he calls Nanako on November 5th, he gets an automated message about her phone not being unavailable from "KJ Telecom", with KJ standing for Kirijo.
When Naoto takes everyone to the hospital in October, she mentions she has read documents about Personas and Shadows. These are thought to have been leaked from a Kirijo Group research lab.
Okina City
Okina is to the north of Inaba, separated from it by Mt. Yasogami
It has 250k people
Okina was originally a city built around a large shrine
Known for having good water
Used to have a papermaking industry
Recently it became very industrial due to companies making factories there, then the workers and their families moved in, so the shopping mall around Okina Station was built with new retail stores, etc etc
(The station at Okina has a sign for the "Inaba Line", indicating that the local train line goes south from Inaba, to East Inaba, then ???, and then north to stop at Okina I guess?)
Shichiri Beach
Not much to note here except that it is a beach within a distance that high schoolers could realistically access via scooter lol

Note
yu feels absolutely HORRIBLE about her death and blames himself
and it also brings back bad memories of his and nanako's mom dying
ok so basically, it's kinda like a roleswap au with yu and yosuke*. yu is dojima's biological son, and has lived in inaba for pretty much his whole life *i say 'kinda' because there are somethings that stay the same with their characters
yosuke on the other hand is new in town, since his parents shipped him off to live there for the shool year with his aunt and uncle who manage the local junes
yu is kinda popular around town because his dad's a known detective and he himself is pretty nice to people. but he also hangs out with street cats and fell into a trash can once so. not exactly suave.
yosuke is initially hated by people, but becomes welcomed after he helps yu with something cough cough getting him out of a trash can and befriending him
cue the start of a new friendship- that's put to the test when yu's childhood friend saki konishi dies mysteriously after a foggy day.
yu getting stuck in the trashcan!!!!!!!! and finding street cats!!!!!!!! a!!!!!!!!!!!
and saki being yu’s friend this time around………. aaaugh……. very intruiged….

hi @andyyolk! I'm your secret santa for the #souyosecretsanta2024 ! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season and that this gift adds to it!
🎄 title: fill this night 🎄 author: ashlelia 🎄 rating: T 🎄 summary: Yu and Yosuke decorate a Christmas tree for Nanako. (~1900 words) 🎄 AO3 link
12.23.20XX
Yosuke's boots crunch through freshly fallen snow as he reaches the entrance of the Dojima residence. Finally. His hands are full of Junes brand shopping bags, so he carefully knocks at the door with the tip of his boot and bounces on his toes as he waits.
He should've worn gloves.
And maybe that scarf Kanji made.
Yeah, he thinks, both of those would be good right now.
It's too bad he didn’t think of it before he left; the fuzzy faux fur lining of his jacket isn't cutting anymore after being dampened by snowflakes.
Yosuke is hit with a welcome gust of warm air when the door rattles open a few moments later. Yu’s smile right behind it, easy and fond, is welcome too. He's grateful for both.
“Come in, it's cold,” Yu says, reaching to take the bags in Yosuke's hands.
Yosuke kicks as much snow off of his boots as he can before he steps inside and closes the door behind him. A shiver tickles the back of his neck as he responds, “Pfft, you're telling me! I'm gonna be thawing out for the next freaking hour.”
“It's not that bad.” Chuckling, Yu plops the bags down on the kitchen table. A string of tricolor tinsel garland, red, green, and silver, spills out of one of them. “You brought more decorations?”
Off comes Yosuke's boots. Then his coat. “Yeah, so we can make the tree really cool and fancy for Nanako-chan, you know?”
“Mmm.” Yu nods. He takes a better look at the contents of the bags. There's an assortment of round ornaments in every color of the Christmas season – some small and glittery, others shiny and big enough to cover his palm; more garlands; half a box of peppermint candy canes; a large, sparkling silver star; and a hastily-bundled length of multicolored stringed lights. The lights partially uncoil the instant Yu picks them up. “These look expensive.”
“They're not,” Yosuke says, moving to join Yu at the dining table. He sidles close, shoulder to shoulder, helping himself to Yu's body heat as he takes over the short work of unbagging. “Well, I mean, they probably are, but they're what's left after decorating the tree at work.”
Yosuke then looks up at Yu, somewhat bashfully. “I, um, didn't think you'd mind too much where I got them since they're nice.”
“You're right, I don't,” Yu confirms. He gives Yosuke a quick, chaste peck on the cheek and another one of those secret, tender smiles. “Thank you, Yosuke.”
The kiss is barely anything, yet Yosuke's face becomes warm and tingly in the wake of it. He's still getting used to this… thing between them and the affection that comes with it. Yosuke's stomach does some kind of pleasantly weird shimmy too, amplifying his bashfulness as he says, “You don't have to thank me, partner. Besides,” he adds before Yu can deflect, “she's basically my little sister now too, right?”
Yosuke's sentiment earns him a wider smile from Yu and pride blossoms in his chest. Yu’s expression is possibly the brightest one since everything with Nanako began weeks ago; Yosuke's simply happy to be the one who helped make it so – with the truth, no less.
(Because, truthfully, Yosuke adopted Nanako the moment ‘whoa, Junes? I love Junes!’ squeaked out of her mouth. He was charmed; what else can he say?)
Yu drops another quick kiss on Yosuke's cheek, closer to the corner of his mouth, and says, “Really, Yosuke. Thank you.”
Fighting his blush back would be impossible, so Yosuke doesn't try to. Instead, he grabs a heap of garland.
“So, what do you say we get started, huh?”
  *
The artificial Christmas tree Yu digs out of Dojima's storage closet is much larger than Yosuke expects it to be. The placement of it partially obscures the living room TV and, although stored in pieces, it’s taller than both he and Yu once they snap the parts together, fluff it out, and make it look something like a real tree again.
Yosuke stands back to assess it while Yu crouches, making minor adjustments to the bottom-most branches.
“Looks pretty good already. Bet all the ornaments’ll fit,” he says, eyeing the tree from bottom to top. “Might need a stool to put the star up, though.”
Yu stands abruptly, pushing his sweater sleeves up to his elbows. “Oh! I think Uncle has one. Let me get it.”
Yet before he can whoosh past, Yosuke grabs Yu's wrist. “Wait a minute, we have to put the other stuff up! The star goes up last, you know?”
“It does?” Yu pauses thoughtfully. “I… didn't know that.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
As he glances over to the tree they've just put up, the quizzical expression on Yu's face fades. It becomes something soft, forlorn, and – for just a second – far away. “I've never really decorated a Christmas tree before. My parents don't like it.”
“Dude, what!?” Yosuke nearly shrieks in disbelief. He can't possibly have heard Yu correctly. He tugs on Yu’s wrist to make him turn back to him; Yu does but avoids meeting his gaze directly. “Your parents don't celebrate Christmas?”
“They kind of do,” Yu says quietly. “I get gifts. Clothes. Books. Things like that.”
Looking at everything but Yosuke, Yu punctuates his statement with a shrug. The downshift in his mood is palpable and Yosuke frowns, mentally giving himself a swift kick in the ass for his outburst.
They've talked about Yu's parents before, of course, but only in vague terms and short, clipped sentences. Yeses and nos; maybes and sometimes – hard-won answers, all pulled like teeth. It didn't take much for Yosuke to get the hint from their conversations that the topic is a touchy one, so even though he wants to know more about Yu's life, his pre-Inaba years, he resists the recurring urge to pry.
He just can't help his own surprise sometimes.
The Narukamis are weird, to say the least.
“Hey, well, at least I know what not to get you for Christmas next year,” Yosuke replies with a wink, pivoting into damage control mode. Time for a distraction. He steps away from Yu towards the sofa now cushioning their mass of ornaments, scoops up a few of them, and offers them to Yu. “Right or left side?”
Accepting Yosuke's offer, Yu makes a contemplative noise. He stares at the blue and silver baubles in his hands, at his distorted reflection in them. Ultimately, blandly, he says, “You pick.”
“C’mon, partner, I asked you first! Help a guy out here,” Yosuke mock-complains. He folds his arms over his chest, adding a dramatic sigh and pout.
It's super effective!
“Okay, okay,” Yu answers. The renewed smile tugging at his lips is small yet contagious, compelling Yosuke to mirror it back. “Left side.”
Yosuke's grin widens and he winks again. “Got it, right side it is.”
Yet, in mere moments, they fall into an easy, tranquil rhythm that has nothing to do with ‘sides,’ and everything to do with ‘vibes’; Yosuke winds up not hanging a single ornament himself. Instead, he lets Yu pick where each one goes, simply handing over new ones as he's asked for them.
For a few minutes, he simply watches his partner dedicate the same quiet focus to the Christmas tree’s decor as he does to everything else. From top to bottom, each bauble Yu hangs is mindfully and gently placed, and double-checked for security. None of them break, which is better than Yosuke's record – he shattered two before he even made it out of Junes.
Once the final ornament goes up, looped over a middling branch, Yu moves away and over to Yosuke's side. With a hand on his hip, he asks,
“What do you think?”
Yosuke looks up from checking his messages – and worrying about the fact that Chie’s settled on bringing cake for Nanako tomorrow – to give his opinion.
Yu's design is a tidy, simple one, with ornaments of like colours grouped in alternating rows of red, blue, green, and silver. Hardly any of the Christmas tree itself is visible beyond the clusters of ornaments; it's almost perfect as-is.
“Wow, partner, I'm impressed,” Yosuke says, folding his arms over his chest. He shoots Yu a playfully skeptical look. “You sure you've never decorated a tree before?”
“I'm sure… but I'm glad you like it,” Yu says, still wearing that small, pleased smile. Then, in a display of uncharacteristic shyness, he continues with, “tell me what comes next?”
Yu's eyes, voice, and statement all radiate a soft sincerity – and vulnerability – that makes Yosuke’s heart miss a beat. Who else in Inaba knows that Yu has never done something so simple as decorating a Christmas tree? Probably no one.
Mildly flustered, Yosuke turns in a full circle before actually stopping in the direction of the remaining decorations.
“Um, well.” Scanning what's left, he reaches for the heap of Christmas lights. “These, let's do these.”
With a nod of agreement, Yu takes them when given. The section that unraveled earlier turns out to be the only untangled portion of the bundle; the rest is knotted up like someone did it on purpose.
Angrily.
Yosuke grumbles the entire time – pretty sure these weren't like this earlier, what the heck? – it takes to detangle them, which is twice as long as it takes to neatly spiral the lights around the tree. And three times as long as it takes to add the sparkly garland.
But once that's done, and there's nothing left but candy canes (tossed aside) and the star to top the tree, Yu disappears to retrieve the necessary, aforementioned stool. As he places the stool and steps on it, steadying himself, he finds himself chuckling again at Yosuke's over-the-top cheer of, alright, partner, moment of truth!
Yu also finds that the stool doesn't give him quite enough height to reach the top of the tree. In hindsight, it's obvious that it was designed and purchased for Nanako – but since it wobbles some as he pushes up onto his tiptoes, maybe they should get a better one?
He thinks about that while he arranges the star on the tree, making sure the branch fits snugly inside the stem. He catches Yosuke hunting for an unused electrical outlet when he steps down but Yu already knows there isn't one, so as he sets the stool aside, he says, “you can unplug the TV for now, it's alright.”
“You sure?”
Yosuke pops upright to look at him; there's a faint look of concern on his face. The house will be quiet without the TV. For the second time today, Yu answers, “I'm sure.”
“Okay.”
Yosuke swaps the plugs and then backs away; once again, he and Yu stand in front of the Christmas tree to survey it in full. Plugged in, the Christmas lights twinkle and flicker as they come alive. Colour scatters over the ceiling and the floor and the room becomes cozier, and warmer, in their wake.
The Dojima house feels like a home again.
“Do you think she'll like it?” Yu asks softly, glancing up at the star topper.
“Like it?” Yosuke bumps their shoulders together, following Yu's gaze. “Dude, she's gonna love it, promise. It's great.”
“Thanks to you.”
Yosuke's only a millisecond away from downplaying the compliment when Yu's hand closes loosely around his own. The gesture makes him look over to Yu, whose smile and pink cheeks are easy to see, even from the side. Rethinking his response, Yosuke laces their fingers together and turns back to the glittering tree they decorated – together.
“You're welcome, partner.”

Hiyah! Do you have any Persona fic recs? 👀
Long ago I made a Rec List, but that's lost to the abyss of Tumblr's awful search mechanism, so here's a new one. You didn't specify, so I included a little of every game. Each game is indicated by a specific color: 🟠 for P2 (both of them), 🔵 for P3, 🟡 for P4 and 🔴 for P5. Each one of these fics really stayed with me for a reason, so I heavily recommend you at least give them a chance.

love how yu's the only investigation team member who can canonically definitely cook- chie, yukiko and rise all suck at it. naoto isn't great at it but she actually uses cookbooks. i feel like kanji probably can but it's not mentioned either way.
Tumblr media
this line from pq implies yosuke can cook but that might just be teddie assuming/cain instincting. and also it confirms teddie can't (which i feel is supported in p4 itself given his terrible lunch ingredient choices when he's staying at the dojima residence in january)-

Decided to start throwing together the Yasogami uniforms for Channel 3. There's certain vibes I didn't want to get rid of, like Chie's iconic jacket (she needs to be allowed to turtle), but still lean into how the original Arcana wore their uniforms.
So, starting off we have our new Fool, Chie Satonaka, and her resident Magician, Rise Kujikawa. (Full write-ups below, we're ignoring Game Balance here, folks and going with what feels right.)
Chie - Still an Inaba native, but she and her family had moved out of town when she was ten. Even then, the town was on the decline and they wanted better opportunities for Chie for high school. Several years later she insisted on going back to Inaba, if only just for one year to see what all had changed. And, if she still liked it, she could maybe graduate from Yasogami.
She still has a plucky and somewhat tomboyish personality, she just is a little more in the background of conversations. Though, Chie isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box either when the Inaba Murders start cropping up. This lends her to listening intently and being able to relay what she's picked up, and she probably doesn't understand half of it, but someone else will.
As the new Wild Card, a lot of Chie's Social Links (outside the team, as well as Dojima and Nanako) don't always overlap with Yu's. She still gets Kou and Daisuke as her Strength, but her personality and history with the town lends her to SL-ing different folks. Those "left behind" now that Junes is gone and much of the town is disappearing. She ends up with people like old man Daidara, the lady in white, and possibly Rise's grandmother instead.
Fighting wise, Chie still ends up very physically based, but with more emphasis on mixed-martial arts rather than just kung-fu. Her kicks are still her strongest, but she's got a mean punch too.
Rise - Bright and peppy, Rise herself is an aspiring songstress who hasn't quite managed to land into show business yet. The Kujikawas are currently in charge of watching Chie now that she's back in town, her grandmother having been close friends with the Satonakas in the past. Chie and Rise were friends back then too, but they've drifted a bit apart in the last several years, especially since Rise was always a year younger than her.
As one of the few kids that lived in the shopping district, Rise obviously had tried to befriend the Konishis, latching onto Saki in Chie's absence. Even though she's generally always optimistic, her bubbly personality was just a bit too much as everything weighed down in the coming days until Junes' abrupt closure and the economic downturn of Inaba. Saki's death hits her hard, having thought they were best friends (possibly being told otherwise by "Saki's Shadow"), she swears to not let any more of her friends end up like Saki. She believes that love and kindness is the answer to most of life's problems, after all.
Generally, Rise is basically Chie's wing-woman to meeting half of her peers, being the social push to get some links going.
In the TV, Rise uses staff-like weapons, befitting of her "magical girl" idea of a hero, and is heavily support-based, learning all levels of healing spells, as well as Spirit Drain later on. She doesn't really have any elemental affinities, though, leaving her weirdly with only a physical weakness. This does mean she can learn the Megido spells later on, but never really gets anything particularly powerful.

貴方の視線感じて シャツのボタン 弾けて 私のインスタを眺めて 貴方のため息聞こえて ♡
So, where is he?
The chime of the automated doors resounded, following it was the sound of them sliding open. You had stepped inside the store. As you did so, your polished heels clicked against the tile. An aesthetically pleasing sound to the ears.
Even at the entrance, you were met with the refreshing scents of fresh fruits and other fancy products. A fitting atmosphere for a well received everything store. Praising it almost made you feel guilty, for the crippling shopping district across the way. It was on its last legs, and here you were complimenting its multimillion dollar competitor. Though you held pity for those family-run businesses, you had to admit the hyperstore was nice and convenient for the quiet town. After all, you did almost all your shopping at the same superstore back in S-City, so you held a bit of a bias.
Upon entering the place, you turned the corner and spotted a familiar face in the corner of the entrance, residing by the windows and elevators. Found him. It was as if he was trying to hide from you, but judging from your talks, most likely Dojima. It’d make sense to duck instead of a building, especially under the guise of work. Though, is it really a good idea to hide out in the store his partner’s daughter loves to shop at? A charming grin of amusement graced your lips as you approached your fellow coworker.
“An avid shopper of Junes, are you?” You said in a playful tone.
Adachi turned his head at the sound of your voice. Judging from his growing smile and the straightening of his posture, he seemed to light up upon seeing you. Perhaps he was glad you graced him with your presence. “Oh, hey (Y/N).” Chuckling at your remark, he gave you a wry yet kind smile. “You know me, their deals are pretty irresistible.” He joked back.
Following the two uncanny and mysterious murders in Inaba, the police force figured they needed more hands on the strange case. As such, you were transferred out of your bustling city to come to this quiet little town in the countryside. They believed that since this was a unique string of murders and disappearances, they might as well put the best detectives in the country on it. It was astonishing how many of the finest were shoved onto this single job. You even met Shirogane’s kid here, as aloof as she is on the case.
Adachi was another detective that you met while working on it. You already knew Dojima pretty well, but him… not so much. It wasn’t until you were assigned this case that you met, and became acquainted with each other.
Though, a link quickly bloomed between the two of you after you first caught him slacking off. It was at the Junes entrance, when you finally decided to take your break that you ran into him. Adachi begged you not to tell Dojima, and you promised it would be your little secret. After you hit it off, the two of you would occasionally run into each other there. Once you got work done, you’d drop by and check up on him, and spend time chatting.
Your bond grew from there, and you started to grow attached to the guy. While he might not be the type of man you usually take interest in, his mild-mannered, less than average character was admittedly endearing. It was adorable.
Incidentally, it doesn’t appear the attraction was one sided either, as tensions seemingly run high when the two of you interact. You might’ve flirted with him once or twice and he reciprocated it.
“So? Get any work done?” You asked smoothly as you crossed your arms. The facetious smile on your face grew as you curiously watched him. The two of you already knew the answer to that, but it was still entertaining to ask.
“I should be asking you…” He replied with a weary gaze, his eyes glossing over your form. Your composed, elegant demeanor heavily contrasted his rugged one. It’d be a challenge for an onlooker to guess the two of you were in the same field.
Contrary to Adachi, you’ve been hard at work on the case. Where he was coming up short, you were there picking up his slack. It was a painstaking endeavor in his eyes, but you did it with ease, and all with an unwavering, nonchalant disposition. Even Dojima would compliment you ever-so often for the help. You think it would annoy Adachi that a woman was showing him up, especially in a male dominated profession like the police force. Surprisingly though, that wasn’t the case. He had taken a liking to you.
Unlike the cruel Dojima who constantly put him through the ringer, you had always been sweet to Adachi. From being pleasantly cordial in conversation, to looking after him with work or the bullying he received from his partner. Though it was unexpected at first, Adachi saw your kindness as refreshing, like a cool oasis in a scorching desert. Since you were so charming, it was only natural that he often found himself wanting to see you again.
It didn’t help Adachi’s uncontrollably growing feelings that you were pretty. Seriously, it was hard for him to wrap his head around how your occupation was the same as his when you looked like a supermodel. Despite the difference in age, you could probably give Risette a run for her money.
Not to mention how enigmatic you were. All of these things he just described were only surface level. Nobody really knew your past or the intricate workings of your personal life. The mystery was intriguing to almost everyone in the department. How surprising that such a nonchalant woman could be just as mysterious as one of the Shiroganes. To think you two were acquainted was so surreal to him.
Diligent, precocious, and caring… and then on top of that you were a knockout when it came to looks. And you knew how to cook. You were exactly his type, just like he said to Yu Narukami once before in a conversation describing his kind of partner. Well, Adachi didn’t outright say he wanted you, but halfway into his description he realized that it lined up with your traits almost verbatim. It was impossible to deny it anymore. You were his type, and even more stacked on top of that. It was hard to imagine this wasn’t an alternate reality. His ideal girl, somehow, had come along. How on earth did you ever come across each other?
Ever the skeptical nihilist realist, he figured it was too good to be true. A perfect woman such as yourself would’ve had someone by now, because who wouldn’t scoop up a catch like you? To say he was shocked when he learned you were single was an understatement. He was floored, nearly spitting out his coffee when it came up in conversation.
You said you were focused on work, but if the right guy came along, you’d fully devote yourself to treasuring him. While Adachi’s negative experiences with dating and women had him begging to differ, it was slightly intriguing to hear you say that. It was exactly what he wanted.
“...Uh, (Y/N)?” He spoke up, catching your attention. You hummed, confirming you were listening.
“Shouldn’t you be, uh… working?” He asked, raising his brow. Though it might’ve come off as an imposing or awkward question, he genuinely wanted to know. His thoughts wouldn’t leave him be otherwise. “I’m sure you’ve got better things to do right now than talk to me.”
A soft, airy chuckle escaped you, as if his statement was absurd. Your eyes locked with his, and you smiled. “Isn’t it obvious? I like spending time with you. You’re pleasant to be around.” You replied with an honest answer.
Needless to say, Adachi was taken aback by your response. It was awfully sweet, so much so that he thought he heard you wrong at first. “M-Me? Really…?” He blinked in surprise. He studied your expression, trying to search for some sort of deception in your eyes, but he came up empty. You were being sincere.
His self-doubt made your heart flutter. It was amusing, but also cute. Meeting his eyes again, your alluringly warm smile returned. “Of course. I like you, Adachi.” You said simply.
Just as you anticipated, Adachi turned bright red at your sudden declaration. He was so shocked he didn’t know how to react. It’s as if you knew the right words to say to render him flustered. The implications behind your words could always be interpreted as innocent, but knowing the type of woman you were, you said that deliberately to throw him off base.
Alas, amidst his growing garden of feelings, his stubborn cynicism was hellbent on fighting him to the bitter end. It didn’t make any sense. A pretty girl having an interest in him? There’s no way.
“Somehow, I find that hard to believe.” He confessed, against his better judgment. Though he was still smiling kindly, there was a clear reservation in his voice. The man found himself ensnared in a quandary. While he admired your boldness, he was also wary of it. There were too many women out there that took advantage of guys like him, and he wasn’t looking to be used.
That had you blink in surprise. Of all things, you didn’t expect a response like that. Did something happen to him before? A case of rejections, or a bad breakup? It made you curious, and intrigued.
“Is that so…” You hummed, holding your chin. Strangely, you couldn't find yourself being deterred. If anything, that sounded like an invitation. Looking up, your eyes met and you cocked your head about an inch. “How do I prove it to you then, Adachi?”
Prove it? The man was surprised at the challenge you posed to him. While anyone with eyes could see you were playing around, he could also sense a hint of seriousness in entertaining him further. Both of you seemed to be testing the waters now. Dancing around any sort of candid confrontation, beating around the bush for the sake of mind games. Keeping your cards close to your chest, both of you refused to show your hands. How far were either of you willing to go until it came to a direct love confession?
For a moment, he was at a loss for words. Thoughts spurred on by desire, he was already thinking of less than ethical answers to your question. But, he really shouldn’t. If you truly like him, that can wait.
Adachi paused to think, then he straightened himself and stepped an inch closer to you. “Well… you could always hug me.”
Now it was your turn to be caught off guard. With a bemused look, you dropped your arms to your sides. “Hug you…?” You echoed, blinking curiously.
He grinned with a curt nod, as if the jump in bases was completely normal. “Yeah. We’re friends, aren’t we?” He asked, his innocent tone masking his intentions. In a manner of speaking, he had turned your own technique against you. “What better way to prove our friendship than a hug?”
In any other conversation, the both of you would’ve begged to differ. It was a fairly intimate gesture, not something for acquaintances that recently hit the ‘friends’ level. Especially given the context of your amorous exchange. However, that’s precisely what the two of you intended.
“I… I guess you’re right…” You agreed aloud with a pondering expression. Admittedly, you didn’t see your conversation heading in this direction from the start. Thanks to that, you felt your heart pound loudly in your chest every time you looked at him. Resisting temptation was harder than it looked. At this moment, you were on the losing end of the game of sustaining your bravado.
He smiled again, but there was a faint smugness to it. Like a lightning charge, your faint nervousness had invigorated his confidence. So even you had a shy side. It was interesting to him, to say the least. Meanwhile, Adachi’s change took you aback, since you’ve never seen him like this before. “Well then, how about it? A big, warm hug for your good pal Adachi.” He insisted.
You paused for a moment, heart skipping a beat at the predicament you were in. If you weren’t preoccupied with your own shyness, you would’ve laughed at his phrasing. The dynamic was shifting, but you could bring it back. Crossing your arms, your smile returned. The offer was very tempting. “Hmm… but that seems a bit sudden. Maybe if you ask a bit more politely, I will.”
Adachi shot you a look of disbelief. “Ah, come on (Y/N). I thought you wanted to prove yourself. Why do I have to ask for it?” He sighed wearily.
“Asking politely is no fun anyways. I think you should just go ahead and throw yourself at me…” He uttered aloud before pausing. By accident, he let his intrusive thoughts slip. You raised a curious brow.
‘Throw… yourself…?’
And just like that, Adachi’s true thoughts apropos to you were revealed. With little effort too. You couldn’t help but grin smugly at this newfound info. Well now…
His blatant confession was amusing, and while you wanted to entertain the idea, you didn’t want to give yourself to him just yet. That’d be far too easy.
Upon realizing it, he was about to take it back, but then you parted your lips.
“Oh, I’ll throw myself at you… if you ask me to.” You insisted, raising an index finger. “After all, I have to know if you truly desire such a privilege.” Your voice took on a coy yet methodical tone as you teased him.
Adachi chuckled softly upon hearing that. It’s no surprise that you liked to play hard to get. That said, unlike the other women he’s courted in the past, the chase was admittedly pretty fun this time around. He thought about your terms methodically. If that’s the case, and it was clear by now you were into each other, he was more than happy to indulge himself.
“Fine, if you really want me to ask…” He caved in, exhaling before meeting your gaze. The things he did for love… “I’m really craving a hug right now, (Y/N). Please?” He faintly lifted his arms invitingly after asking.
A smile graced your lips, pleased at the small victory. “Of course…!” You said with an innocent beam. You approached him, and securely wrapped your arms around his neck in a loving embrace. The gesture was naturally warm, as if you were supplying your longtime boyfriend of a few years with his daily need of affection.
You drew closer to his ear, dropping your voice to a soft whisper. “That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
“Yeah…” He muttered, your sudden sultry demeanor sending sparks to his lower half. He never could’ve predicted the two of you getting this close. His arms snaked around your waist, while his hands found its place around the small of your back. You certainly proved your devotion right then and there.
It felt so right to have you in his arms. Now that he had you, he couldn’t find a reason to let go. His heart is racing from the proximity, and he feels your soft chest press against his more sturdy one. He felt like he could get lost in your affections.
You drew back slightly, to meet his eyes and rest your closed hands on his chest. “You’re so gorgeous…” Adachi murmured quietly as he studied your features. He couldn’t help himself. The compliment accompanied by the husky dulcet voice made your heart speed up.
After staring at you for what seemed like forever, he couldn’t take it anymore. Fully surrendering to his impulses, he leaned closer to you, his gaze falling to your lips. His heated, amorous actions didn’t go unnoticed by you. You smiled fondly, and grabbed him by his tie. Gently, you tugged him closer and pressed your lips against his.
The two of you were kissing. Your synapses resounded, as if a repressed euphoric sensation was finally released. It felt so right, perfect even. Though his lips were chapped, they were nice against your soft ones.
Adachi’s arms pulled you closer, and held you tight. Having your frame in his arms was heaven to him. Craving the feeling of your lips, he deepened the kiss. He had been waiting for this, and finally his desires were coming true. For a moment, he lost himself, trapped in his thoughts. The only thing present was you and him. His sense of reason seemingly slipped away.
Pleasant shivers ran down your spine as he touched you. You could kiss him for eternity. Melting in his embrace, you continued to explore his mouth. Caught in the moment, your bodies were intertwining. A romantic, impassioned scene you’d only find in movies.
For a split second, you broke away to breathe. Panting, your cheeks were burning sanguine. Adachi’s were the same. He caught his breath, admiring the flushed look on your face. “Oh, (Y/N)…” He crooned softly. Just as he imagined, you tasted divine. Your lips were incredibly sweet, like a sugary dessert. If he’s not careful, he could get addicted. He leaned closer for another kiss.
“Ms. (L/N)? Mr. Adachi…?” A younger boyish sounding voice called out your names. Identifying it, you released Adachi’s tie.
The two of you quickly drew back a safe distance and turned, spotting Yosuke Hanamura staring at the two of you in confusion. What made matters worse was that Nanako and Yu were behind him, and they were just as bewildered.
“What’re you guys doing?” Yosuke asked with a friendly, yet unsure smile. If he didn’t know any better, he could’ve sworn the two of you were doing something strange. The two of you looked dangerously close there.
As for you, you figured the three of them must not have seen you kissing, but they could’ve caught a glimpse of you being extremely close. They could easily draw the conclusion from there.
Adachi let out a strained sigh. “Ah, crap.” He muttered under his breath as he adjusted his suit. Being caught in a public place so obvious was embarrassing. He felt like an idiot. His only saving grace was that it was just them and not Dojima. Standing next to you, he gave the kids a friendly wave. “Oh, hey, guys. We were just chatting.” A nervous smile was on his lips.
Unlike Adachi, regaining your composure was easy. Loosely crossing your arms, you chimed in with a kind smile. Your sunny disposition reverted back instantly. “Yep, we were just discussing cases.”
Just talking? Honestly, Yosuke found that hard to believe, given how it looked. Maybe his eyes were tricking him, but he could’ve sworn something else was going on. He would’ve begged to differ, considering how awfully close the two of you had been a moment ago. Maybe he was just dirty minded, but he had an inkling of what was going on between the two of you. Seriously though, he couldn’t believe it. Adachi with you?! How did he manage that?!
However, Yosuke doesn’t say a word, since Nanako was with them. The teenager had his moments, but he was mindful not to be weird around her. Unaware of the awkwardness protruding the air, the young girl smiled at you. “Hi, Ms. (L/N)!” She’s very fond of you.
You returned her grin and gave a small wave. She’s an adorable kid, and you’ve grown to love her. At this point, you’re like her aunt. Needless to say, the interactions between you two are very heartwarming.
Unfortunately for Adachi, he’s not holding his own against the two boys. Still, he smiled at them. “Nice to see you, kids. How’s it going? Aren’t you studying hard for the exams?” He asked.
Yosuke chuckled nervously with a nod while Yu rolled his eyes. The scene was painfully awkward.
Like Nanako, you feigned ignorance to the awkward situation. By now, you had calmed yourself on the inside to reflect your outward appearance. You were relieved the kids didn’t see anything. But to be fair, you were making out by the Junes elevators, so it’s not like you were trying to be discreet.
“Are you about to do some shopping at Junes?” You asked Nanako with a gentle, almost mother-like tone. The little girl beamed with an excited nod. “Uhuh!” Nanako said. The next time you weren’t busy, she wanted to invite you along.
Your gaze returned to all three of them. “Well, don’t let us hold you up. Have fun~!” You chuckled, sending them off with a sincere smile.
Yu and Nanako said their goodbyes and took off to go inside. Yosuke muttered something along the lines of ‘lucky bastard…!’ and followed them out. And with that, the kids went inside the store, leaving the two of you alone again. Smirking with amusement, you turned to Adachi. Though you covered your mouth, you failed to suppress a small laugh. That was pretty close.
Adachi let out another sigh as he met your eyes. His shoulders went slack. “I don’t think they were fooled.” He confessed. Chances are they’ll be talking about that later with their friends. Though he was embarrassed, there was also something exciting about other people knowing you were with him. In any case… “We should finish our conversation somewhere else…” He suggested, eyeing the doors.
That was for the best. The last thing you’d want was your pleasant talk to be disturbed again. You held your hands behind you. “Lead the way, detective.” With a grin, you replied coyly. You were ready to see where this would go. Adachi felt a rush of heat running down his neck at your coquettish tone, and he guided you out.

still sticking with the headcanon that adachis car is pure ass like it's fucking shit and unfunctional as balls it's probably third hand. man who doesn't have the cis guy trait to take care of his car or actually have the money to service it. guy who buys a lexus at 90% off because it's going to blow up less than 70 more kilometers of usage. it got dented twice. he never uses it for the rest of his time in inaba because he's being chaperoned around by his boss like a schoolkid. also now his own car is completely out of service.

Souyo + coming out? If you're still taking requests
So, you're saying that it's been 7 months... Yep... Sounds about right. I did write it though! So there is good news now!
"Yu, I don't know about this," Yosuke said from where he was sitting on their bed.
"You were the one who was all gung-ho about it yesterday."
He leaned back, sighing. "I know, but that was yesterday."
Yu came over, sitting down next to him, placing a hand on his leg. "We don't have to if you don't want to."
"We don't have to, but we probably should, right?"
"They're all people who care about us."
He nodded, sitting back up. "Yeah, it's just kinda terrifying."
"I know it is. Are you almost ready to go?"
"Yeah, let's do this."
The both of them stood up from the bed, heading to the door of the apartment. They were about to drive down to Inaba to go see their friends and family. It was summer break so they had time off of university classes.
They had been talking about it a lot in the past month or so and had come to an agreement.
They were going to tell everyone that they were dating.
The mere thought of that terrified him to no end. A large part of him wanted to keep this as a secret for the rest of his life, but, at the same time, he knew that that wasn't what Yu wanted. He wanted the people close to them to know that they were together. He understood that to some extent, but that didn't mean that he wasn't still terrified.
The two of them made it out to the car, getting in. They could have easily taken the train, but they were staying there for a week, so it would be nice to be able to have a way to get around the countryside if they wanted.
Yosuke insisted on driving - it calmed him down to be able to focus on doing that - and then they were on their way.
It was only about a two hour drive, but it was nice the entire time. He really loved just spending time with Yu, talking to him about whatever crossed his mind. It would be fun to go on a road trip with him at some point. Maybe to go a lot further than Inaba.
Before long, they got to the small town. He really loved living in the city, but he had also missed Inaba. There were so many memories associated with it - some bad, but the majority good. He didn't think that he'd want to move back there anytime soon, but he was glad to have the opportunity to visit.
The first place they went to was the Dojima residence. He was just going to drop Yu off there, then head to his parent's house. That was another reason why it would be nice to have everyone know they were a couple. It would be weird if they were to stay in the same room as just friends, especially when they both had a place to stay in town.
He pulled up in front of the house. "All right. I'll see you in a bit then?"
Yu nodded, reaching over, and taking hold of his hand, squeezing it. "And if you decide that you don't want to do it, we don't have to."
He took a deep breath. "Right."
"Just let me know, okay?"
"Yeah."
He gave him a small smile. "Text me when you start heading over."
"Okay, I will."
With that, Yu got out of the car, grabbing his things, before heading to the door. He waited until he got inside before heading toward his parent's house.
They were having a get-together with everyone at the Dojima Residence that evening, but he wanted to go drop off his things and get settled first. He was also going to be bringing Teddie with him and he was genuinely looking forward to seeing him.
He quickly reached the house - it wasn't that far - and pulled into the driveway.
As soon as he parked, the front door swung open, and Teddie came barreling out toward him.
"Yosuke!" His voice was muffled through the car.
He unbuckled his seat belt, then opened the door, quickly stepping out. "Hey, Ted."
Immediately, he crashed into him, wrapping his arms tightly around him.
He couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips as he hugged him back.
"You were gone for so long. I thought I was never gonna see you again."
"It's been like two months."
"That's basically an eternity."
"Whatever you say." He pushed on his shoulder. "C'mon. I wanna go put my stuff inside and then we can go to see Yu."
Teddie immediately pulled away, a glint in his eye as he went to open the car door, pulling out his bag. "Hurry up. I want to go see Sensei."
Yosuke went and grabbed the rest of his things and they went inside, greeting his parents. Right. He was going to have to tell them too. That wasn't going to be fun. He was going to save it until Yu was there with him though.
He followed Teddie up to his old room - it was really Teddie's room now. He had told him to do what he wanted with it once he left for college.
He set everything down and then Teddie was pulling on his arm, telling him that they needed to get going.
He put up a small bit of resistance - going there meant everything was all the closer - but eventually let in, texting Yu that they were coming, then starting the walk over.
It wasn't that long of a walk and Teddie was chatting to him the entire time, telling him about everything that had happened over the past few months. Despite everything, he really had missed him.
It wasn't long before they were walking up to the Dojima Residence, knocking on the door.
After a few seconds, it opened, Yu standing there, immediately getting leaped on by Teddie.
"Sensei! You're here."
"Hey, Teddie."
"It's no fair that Yosuke gets to see you all the time."
Yu let out a small laugh. "Well, maybe you can come and visit us sometime."
Yosuke groaned. Why had he offered that? Now that the idea was in his head, he might decide to just come and show up unannounced like he had done on the school trip.
"What? You don't want him to come?"
Teddie let out an over dramatic gasp. "Yosuke?"
"You can come, you just have to let us know beforehand."
Teddie hummed. "All right."
With that, they headed inside. No one else was there yet except for Nanako and Dojima. They exchanged greetings before going over and sitting around the low table in the living room.
There was a lot of talking as everyone got caught up with everyone else. Nanako, in particular, seemed excited to tell them all about everything she was doing.
Before long though, everyone else started filtering in until the room was full of their friends.
Now that everyone was here in the room, his stomach was turning. What was going to happen if they found out? Would they hate them? He hoped not, but part of him never wanted to actually find out.
He was lost in those thoughts when, all of a sudden, Chie touched his shoulder, her brow furrowed in concern. “Hey, Yosuke? Are you okay?”
He blinked. “What? I’m fine. Never better.”
She frowned. “O-kay. You just seemed distracted.”
“Oh, uh, I guess I’m just tired.”
She didn’t seem fully convinced, but luckily, she didn’t push him on it.
He took a deep breath.
Yu caught his attention from across the room. He was giving him a questioning look, his head slightly tilted to the side.
He bit his lip. He really didn’t know if he wanted to do this or not. The anxiety was churning in his stomach, a sense of dread hanging over him.
Yu stood. “Yosuke, can I talk to you?”
He took a sharp breath, standing as well. “Oh, yeah.”
Luckily, no one seemed too concerned as he followed him up the stairs and into his old room. It was slightly better in there. In the relative privacy where the thoughts of coming out to everyone seemed further away.
“Are you okay?” Yu asked, laying his hand on his cheek.
He looked down at the ground. “I just… I don’t know if I can do this.”
Yu gently ran his thumb beneath his cheekbone. “We don’t have to. I don’t want to do it if you’re not comfortable.”
He frowned, biting his lip. “But you want this, right? You want everyone to know.”
Yu hesitated. “I do, but-”
Yosuke turned away from him, taking a deep breath. Yu wanted this. He deserved to have it. He deserved to have something that he wanted.
He opened the door, stepping out into the hallway.
“Yosuke? What are you doing?” Yu called from his room.
He was right behind him as he walked down the stairs, stopping in the entrance to the living room.
He opened his mouth before he could think about it. “Yu and I are dating.”
The once upbeat din of conversation pittered out, everyone turning to look at him.
His face was on fire. “Just wanted to tell everyone.”
Nanako was the first one to speak, a look of excitement on her face. “Does that mean that you’re going to get married?”
“That’s not fair!” Teddie said. “I wanna marry Sensei.”
Yu took a step forward, laying a comforting hand on his shoulder. “No one’s getting married, but, like Yosuke said, we are dating. You’re all people that we care about so we decided that we wanted to let everyone know.”
“Congratulations, Senpai!” Rise said from her spot on the couch, a wide smile on her face.
There was a similar sentiment from everyone around the room.
Everyone was being so supportive. Even though he had been kind of expecting it, relief swept through his body.
He didn’t even realize he had started crying until a teardrop dripped down off of his cheek.
He immediately brought his hand up, wiping at his eyes with his sleeve.
Teddie let out a concerned sounding noise. “Yosuke, why are you crying?”
He took a deep breath. “I’m not crying, stupid bear.”
Yu wrapped an arm around his shoulders, leading him over to the couch.
As they were sitting down, Chie let out a wolf whistle, smiling.
His face felt hot. “Hey!”
She laughed.
The rest of the day passed by much the same. Talking and laughing without any fear and uncertainty hanging over them.
He still had to tell his parents, but somehow, now, that idea didn’t seem so bad.

Adachi's overseas transfer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the ending where the protagonist protects Adachi but doesn't go visit him on March 20th, then on March 21st he will instead call the Dojima residence and let the protag know he's getting transferred overseas and he'll be leaving the country. Dojima's dialogue suggests this is real, as he also mentions that Adachi is also leaving today, and he is Adachi's boss and all. In Japanese, Adachi also specifies that his transfer was oh-so-sudden, last minute, abrupt, etc.
I don't take anything that happens in these new Adachi centric bad endings seriously as I feel like they're just fan service added for Golden for us Adachi fuckers (him saying his transfer was sudden also feels like Atlus is admitting they know this is silly lol), but... I also have a tendency to drive everything into the ground.
Here are some random things I found about Japanese police officers getting transferred overseas:
Anecdote from an Okayama prefectural police officer who met people and decided to apply to go overseas and went to an English speaking country where he worked at an embassy and helped deal with cases related to Japanese tourists
Article about the topic by a Japanese officer who went overseas and lived in Africa for a period of time, also working through the embassy
Yahoo Questions answer (lol) where the commenter kinda supports the above and also mentions that police officers at embassies do stuff like do security and drive around Japanese diplomats; also brings up some kind of program with America and South Korea and those being common destinations for these transfers
Overall, it seems that an overseas position is something that officers, even small town / rural officers, can apply for and potentially be selected for.
I suppose by not visiting Adachi on March 20th, the protagonist somehow created a timeline where Adachi suddenly gets transferred to work at a Japanese embassy somewhere LOL. Perhaps Adachi missed the news about the position being opened while the protagonist was burning the letter on the 20th...
Tumblr media
Amenosagiri still would've been AFK inside of Adachi at this point since it's Golden (version where Izanami's line about that exists) and Adachi never entered the TV World. Maybe Ame got bored of Inaba and somehow made the transfer happen so it could go see Hawaii. Maybe Adachi got transferred to wherever the protagonist's parents just got back from (maybe the protag and his family are getting re-transferred there lol).

alright time to talk about some of my social links for p4 asau. i was inspired by @beezonia's character introductions for their asau
heirophant - nanako dojima
ageswapped with ryotaro dojima - a very passionate and outgoing detective (although she struggles from some of the sexism issues that naoto suffered in their canon storyline) who was a colleague of naoto's grandfather. very playful, almost like a 'big kid', but hides her feelings of grief over her husband - and ryotaro's father's - untimely death. loves junes, big coupon girly
justice - ryotaro dojima
ageswapped with nanako dojima - much more serious than his mother, ryotaro tends to hide himself in old pulp media and action movies and is a bit of a reclusive. he and naoto bond over both feeling as though - even though they know that their parental figure loves them - that they don't know who they really are. also secretly grieves his father, which leads to him being partially responsible for the creation of the 'heaven' dungeon
empress - agatha (hisano kuroda)
naoto's velvet room attendant and a sweet, caring, grandmotherly figure who dotes on both naoto and fellow velvet room resident percy (yu narukami). very excited to see naoto's progression, and constantly encourages him to do better. secretly very terrifying in combat, as most of the party can attest to
aeon - percy (yu narukami)
the other resident of the velvet room and an amnesiac. loves cats and is seemingly good at everything without trying. tends to behave stoic but secretly can say the weirdest shit when naoto isn't expecting it. he's mostly hanging out with naoto to learn more about humanity and figure out what his memories are
