Angsty Bilbo dying Bagginshield art giving me another story idea~ 😂😭💕
But no, seriously? A play on the popular time travel fix-it, but one where Bilbo dies protecting Thorin during the Battle of Five Armies? And Thorin is inconsolable, I can’t even. And he might pull himself together long enough to stabilize Erebor, but there is No Way he can be a good ruler in his grief, so he has to pass it on. (I was going to say to Dain just to twist that knife a little harder, but actually there are reasons hinted below on why Fíli & Kíli must have lived.) And Thorin just… he wanders, probably. A shell of himself for the rest of his days.
And yet, when he inevitably passes away, he awakens on the road to the Shire. And he’s younger. And he’s so confused, quickly suspecting he must be dead and this is nothing like what he was taught to expect. But then his instant impulse to check Bag End has him walking in on that same meeting from so many years ago, his Company intact, the wizard smiling at him, introducing him to… to…
Bilbo. His Bilbo. The sight of him makes Thorin want to weep and hold him and never let go again, but he is instantly terrified to do anything, because is this a dream? Will he wake? What happens if he says something new, will ‘this’ be ruined somehow? He doesn’t want that, doesn’t want to change anything, save for the end. The very end.
But, even as he strives to mimic himself, he knows something is wrong. He’s off-script from the start purely due to his shock, but he tries to recover, get back on track, and within words, he’s managed it. The discussion is righting itself, and no one there could possibly know the difference, right?
And yet, Bilbo stares at him. From the instant Thorin walked in, Bilbo was staring, looking lost. As he had before, that first time, but it wasn’t the same. Bilbo had been confused then as well, but it had been a light, anxious uncertainty then. This time? He was frowning, his expression tense.
His eyes haunted.
Because Bilbo has also lived that night before. Just once as far as that night was concerned, but it was familiar to him. So familiar. That first night had haunted him for decades, to the very end of his long, long life, when he thought he might know rest, and perhaps if he was truly as lucky as some once claimed — he might get to see his friends again. See Thorin again.
Instead he had slept, drifted away, and awoken to a battle about to start.
And he had questioned it, had stumbled that first time, but he adjusted. He tried to save Thorin. To save them all.
And he failed. Again.
Then, when he finally slept for the first time afterwards, he awoke to the battle starting again.
And again.
And he tried, over and over, day after the same horrid day to find a way to get through. And sometimes Thorin lived. Sometimes the princes did. Sometimes, new people died. The wrong people.
Once, in his darkest moments, he thought that perhaps someone was trying to teach him humility, teach him to accept fate as it was and not try to fight it, not change anything. And so he went through the motions as well as he could remember them after all those years, following them to the letter, save for when he sobbed all the harder when it was done.
He sobbed again, the relief bone-deep, when he awoke again the next day, the battle still awaiting him.
He lost count of his attempts, and no one could rightly vouch for his state of mind when he finally resorted to the one thing he had refused to try: Not since that fourth (or fifth?) time, when he managed to be there for the fight and threw himself in Azog’s way, but Thorin pulled him out of the way, and screamed at him with such outrage and fear and despair in the few beats he bought by pushing Azog over, that Bilbo never attempted it again.
Until that final day. And that time, Bilbo didn’t give Thorin a chance to stop him.
And it broke a heart Bilbo thought long since shattered to hear Thorin scream, to feel him pick him up and hold him close and hear his voice like that. But the words faded soon enough, and he couldn’t feel anything, nothing except for regret and acceptance, because this was different. He felt it. This time, he would not awaken again, and that was fine. He had saved his king, kept all of his dwarves safe that last time. If that was to be the last, then that was all he could ask for. It was alright. He could sleep.
Then he woke up.
Not outside Erebor, but inside a hole. His hole. Bag End.
He walked outside, stood in the sun, and watched a wizard walk up the road to his door.
He did not understand.
#bagginshield#the hobbit#thilbo#ANGST#cw character death#(though they get better)#story ideas#xD; that got away from me#but yes—if it isn’t clear the Bilbo is from the canon run but looped back. and Thorin’s come back from the loop Bilbo died in.#because why have 1 angst touched time traveler when you can have 2?#and my one sadness with most time travel fix-its is one member (usually Thorin) often doesn’t remember the original time line#and i love canon bagginshield bonding! so i went for a take where both would recall it#queue your bets: do they drag out the unknowns the entire quest#or does one or both sus out the other before the first night is even over?#whenever the truth comes out—do we get screaming crying or the most dramatic moulin rouge-level confessions ever?#(spoilers: it’s all three. probably in that order. with repeats potentially.)#i kinda wanna name this one but best i can think of now is—#twin echoes au#the art that inspired this is just below btw!

ℬℴℴ𝓀𝓈𝓉ℴ𝓇ℯ 𝒹𝒶𝓉ℯ𝓈
I wrote this while waiting for my fn queue, it took literally over an hour and I fell asleep, im so excited for the new season but omfg im so bored w/o it 😞 im getting Fortnite schizophrenia
thinkin bout rafe w a reader!gf, one smut joke that’s it
Masterlist
You sat behind him on his motorcycle as he sped up, your arms wrapped around him. He stopped, parking in a stop downtown and pulling his helmet off, shaking his head and fixing his hair. You took yours off, holding it.
He had a small smile as he looked at you already walking down, catching up with you. You were giddy all week when he told you he would take you to the Barnes and Nobles- even though it was far away.
“Slow down, slow down.” He said with a chuckle when he noticed you were walking fast down the sidewalk. You pouted and slowed down.
“Not my fault you walk so slow.”
He rolled his eyes at your antics, a small smile on his face. You gently pushed his chest as he feigned offense.
“How dare you?” He gasped dramatically.
“How dare you?” You mocked. You both laughed and soon you were met with the sign of the Barnes and Nobles, you practically running in, dragging Rafe.
Your helmet under your arms got hard to carry, he took it from you, both his hands full now.
“Thank you.” You told him quickly, giving him a kiss on the cheek and grabbing a basket. You scoured the sections for books, reading the backs, your face interested. But, Rafe noticed you were hesitating to buy some.
He took one from your hands making you smile, amused as he flipped through the pages.
“Baby, this might as well be pure smut.”
“It’s not all smut.” You argued, taking the book from his hands with a roll of your eyes.
“You seriously reading about this when we can do it?” He said, tone teasing.
“You’re gross.” You hit his chest, putting the book back.
And sometimes, you put back one and put in another. Soon, you said you were done but the basket wasn’t any where near full, and that wasn’t okay in his eyes.
“Why’d you put down the others?” He asked curiously.
“It’s expensive,” you shrugged. “I can’t waste all my money, I still have shit to pay off.”
“I’m paying for it.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “What?”
“I’ll pay for it. This is a date, isn’t it? I should be the one paying.”
“But, Rafe-“ he always paid for you, despite your protests.
“Don’t worry about it. Buy anything you fuckin’ want, yeah? That’s what I’m here for.”
“Ugh, will you ever let me pay for something?”
“Nope.” He said with a smirk, you smiled back and went back over to the books you were originally looking at.
“Why don’t you get the uh… what’s it called?” He asked, picking up a hardcover.
“A hardcover costs more. I don’t wanna drain your pockets.”
“Have you seen my bank account? I am off perfectly fine. A little what, couple hundred bucks? Is not gonna drain my pockets.” He spoke, putting the hardcover in the basket for you before you could protest.
You rolled your eyes and began walking to the register when you were done, putting the books on as you greeted the cashier with a small smile.
“Find everything okay?”
You nodded, your eyes going to the screen as the amount went up.
“Rafe, that’s a lot-“ you mumbled, he shrugged.
“It’s fine, baby.” He said with a laugh, you looked up at him now and back down.
“Your total is… 246 dollars.” The cashier spoke.
“Jesus Christ, Rafe, are you-“
He swiped his card, and you had a small smile on your face.
“You didn’t have to.” You told him.
“Don’t worry about it, baby. I wish my hobby was this cheap.” He said with a laugh, giving you back your helmet so he could carry all the bags for you, flexing his biceps as he did so.

Life After Info Post
[Click here to access the Life After Digital Comic Book]
Summary: Two years ago, a viral outbreak rose the dead. Considering how his life had gone up to this point, surgeon Trafalgar Law figured this might as well happen too. When a supply run into the nearby city gets intercepted by a seemingly reckless and impulsive former patient, the dependable routine Law had settled into in this new life shatters. He finds himself exposed — his body out in the infected landscape, his conscious clawing to define what he believes is right, his heart begrudgingly deciding to find a new home on his sleeve. Maybe there’s more than a virus roaming the new world that can bring a dead man back to life.
Content Warnings: Canon typical violence, zombies/body horror (but lbr I am not good at making scary things look scary)
Relationships: Luffy x Law
Update Schedule: New page every Monday/Wednesday/Friday
Page Count: [37 posted | 55 drawn]
Latest Update: [7/21/24] WOWEE did I get myself carried away this morning. I just spent 5 hours organizing my comics and creating the digital comic book pages. I could have spent that time drawing or idk not doing what I do for my job, but I cannot be stopped. Anyway I blocked out 30 pages of this comic last week and they include the most intense action sequence I've ever done in my gotdang life. Wish me luck because I am nervous about tying down all my drawings lmao.
OLD UPDATES:
[6/29/24] HULLO! I'm doing so bad at keeping my masterposts updated lately I am sorry. All pages of life after are tagged life after if you're ever looking between masterpost updates! Also exciting update, I finally have figured out all the different plot points i'm gonna be hitting (yay!). I got hung up on something for awhile that made me not wanna work on this project, but I'm back at it. I think we'll end up with 6-7 parts! I have probably another 80-100 pages to draw lol. Also i got the app Magic Poser and it's AWESOME and I immediately used it to block out sets cuz MAN I hate backgrounds.
[6/10/24] HELLO. I'm sorry I've been shit at updating my masterposts lately. It's easiest to do from my computer, which I rarely use, and life has been happening. I also can't believe I bungled the queue and posted pg19 before pg18 i am very sorry 🤦 Eventually I'll have to turn this into an airtable base I'm sure, but until that day comes where I have like 100 pages of this comic we're stickin to the regular post lmao
[5/26/23] I got real caught up in doing summer of lawlu comics this week and this is the first week since the first week of April I haven't drawn new Life After pages and it feels weird 🙊
[5/19/24] More Luffy backstory comin' this week! :^)
[5/12/24] Updating now so get myself on schedule to update on Sundays like I had been with my other comic master post!
[5/8/24] Thank you to everyone who's liked/reblogged/comment on the first few pages!! It means the world to me that anyone's reading my silly little comics.
[4/28/24] HULLO. It’s happeninnng. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on this comic, and I gotta make this post so I can start queuing pages & link this in them! This is the most like….legit? Comic endeavor I’ve undertaken perhaps….ever. I’m very nervous about committing to how long it will need to be lol. This story is dear to my heart — zombie content is kind of my very favorite. I’ve always found it to be a great backdrop for exploring themes like grief, coping with change, community, and learning to live again. It’ll be a long haul but I hope you’ll ride it out with me!! Tomorrow I’ll be posting the first two pages. After that a page will post every Monday/Wednesday/Friday. As of this post I’ve completed over 20 pages so that I have a good lead on what’s posting and continuing to write, so I’m hopeful that’s a cadence I’ll be able to maintain. I’ll update this post weekly to include the most recent pages the way I do with my main comics master post. All pages will be tagged 'Life After' and I'll tag any pages with zombies in them with 'zombie' for blacklisting etc.

Matt Murdock - Waste My Time I
Pairing : Matt Murdock x (she/her)Reader Word Count : 4.6k Warning : Some curses. Fluff. Some cliff hanger, I think? Sets on Matt's uni years. Notes : I will do some updates on the prologue to better fit the plot. Let me know if you wanna be tagged for future chapters. Cheers! x If you like this story and would like to support me, please visit my kofi page and perhaps get me a coffee?☕
↞ Prologue
The smell of sugar and roasted beans were thick in the air. The establishment was packed with people. It wasn’t the usual cafe Matt and Foggy would go to. No, the cheap coffee truck on the way to the campus or perhaps the vending machine by their Advanced Constitutional Law class would do to grab a cup of americano from, but today isn’t one of those days.
Today is one of those days when Foggy would drag him to the other side of the city just to pick up some special sandwich that would guarantee a forgiveness pass from Marci. Today is one of those days when Foggy would pay for his americano, only to forget his wallet by the bedside table. Today is one of those days when Foggy would have to make another promise to pay for his meal as the blonde had to bail and run to give Marci her sandwich.
Now Matt, ever the understanding friend, certainly paid no mind with all of the troubles Foggy dragged him into this morning. He figured he could use the long way to his classes this morning. To try and see what exactly is on the other side of the campus when the sun is still out. When he was in his normal clothes and not hunting robbers. When he could actually be Matt Murdock and not the Daredevil.
But now standing by the side aisle to pick up his order, Matt knew that the lady who was too busy arguing on the phone with who seems to be a disastrous ex-husband, accidentally picked up his americano and left him with what smells to be a matcha latte with twice if not thrice the normal sugar level.
Matt’s lips pout a little. He’s certainly not in the mood to jump start his day with a lethal dose of diabetes, but Foggy’s left minutes ago and he couldn’t just call the barista to exchange his order without actually tasting the beverage. What excuse would he give? That he could smell that the drink in his hand isn’t what he ordered?
“Hi, sorry,” A voice of salvation echoes from his right. A woman who’s now approaching him with a gentle voice greets. Matt could taste the uncertainty in her tone, how her heart beats a little awkwardly as if she wasn’t sure if she was doing the right thing yet she does it anyway “I’m really sorry to be coming off as a creep like this, but I don’t think that’s your order.”
“No?” Matt asks with a raised eyebrow.
“No, I think the lady before you mistook your order.” She explained, taking the cup away from his hand “I overheard your order with your friend earlier, I was queueing behind you. You ordered an americano, right? This is a hot matcha.”
“Oh,” Matt says, feigning surprise “I wouldn’t have known.”
“Yeah.. Here, you can take my americano.” She offers, pushing her cup to his hand “I haven’t touched it or anything, I promise. It’s clean.”
“No, it’s fine I can just ask the barista—” Matt’s words were interrupted when his phone beeped, followed by the automatic reminder: his Conflict of Laws class starts in five minutes “Shit.”
“Yeah, just take it,” She insists “I’ll ask the barista to redo my order. It’s fine, really.”
“Thank you.” Matt says, accepting the warm cup at last “I appreciate it.”
“It’s no big deal.”
Matt wanted to prolong their conversation. She seems to be a genuinely kind person. Had he not been in a rush for being on the other side of the campus and having to come to class on time as Professor Barton would lock the door a second past nine, he would have stayed and continued talking to this one kind soul. At the very least, he would have asked for her name and asked if he could repay her kindness, perhaps with a slice of pizza and cold beer after class. But today isn’t one of those days.
Today is one of those days when he passed by someone he would wish he had more time to spare with. Today is one of those days when he met someone he would think of longer than the time he spent with said person. Today is one of those days when he hoped that he would meet her again.
—-
Her hair was dishevelled. She dares not to look at the time as it would only fuel her anxiety even worse. She planned to have her essays done before the clock strikes nine, but it has been hours since and she could barely call herself half way there.
The bigger side of the library has now turned dark. Students have retreated back to their bedrooms or have found themselves better things to waste the night with. It was Friday, afterall. Most wouldn’t even think of stepping their foot inside for the night, yet here she is, trying her best to stay afloat on the ocean of assignments that she’s evidently drowning in.
But when she was ready to take the consolation prize for being the most pathetic student of the year, a boy took the seat in front of her. He took out the things from his bag—several heavy textbooks and a laptop—as he tried to find comfort on the table, completely oblivious to her presence.
It was that boy. The boy she helped the other day in the cafe. Well, the word help would certainly be an overstatement as she only pointed out that he was holding the wrong order and offered hers in replacement, but she had a slight nervousness in her bones as she felt it was overstepping of her when she offered the proposal, so thinking that she was helping him feels a little rewarding and helped soothe her nerves a little.
She silently stares at him as he continues his work. His fingers trace the braille on his textbooks, mouth slightly moving as he tries to read the passages. The boy was beautiful to say the least. Like a beautiful painting you wouldn’t grow bored of even after hours of staring. The soft light of the library was hitting his face in all the right directions, enhancing his features that truthfully need no betterment yet it accentuates his beauty nonetheless.
Five if not fifteen minutes after her staring, she realises that she has to make her presence known. She wouldn’t want him to be startled if she makes any noises or movements, or worse makes him feel unsafe by her stealthy actions. The last thing she would want is to make him feel like she was a threat instead of a friend.
She taps on the table lightly, catching his attention, “Uh, I just want to let you know that you’re not alone at this table.”
“Oh, right,” The boy answers “Should I move?”
“No, no! I just wanted to let you know, that’s all. Please don’t move.” She says fast.
The boy’s lips curved into a smile but his brows knitted, “I’m sorry, have we met before? You sound familiar.”
“Uh, yeah, I’m the girl from the cafe,” She says, the same uncertainty lacing her tone “I swear I’m not trying to stalk you or anything. I just happen to be in the same place you are for some reason.”
“I never thought of you as one,” The boy says with a smile “I’m Matt, by the way.”
She tells him her name.
Matt whispers her name, letting it roll on his tongue like it’s going to settle for a long time there, “I don’t mean to be rude, but what are you doing in a library on a Friday?”
“The same reason as you have, I’m sure.” She says with a sigh, not wanting to elaborate “What major are you taking?”
“Law, you?”
“International Affairs.” She answered, biting on her pencil as she judged him “Law, huh? Well, aren’t you a smarty pants.”
Matt chuckles.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Stupid heart.
“Listen,” Matt says after a visible nervous lick of his lips “I hope this isn’t too straight forward, but I really appreciate what you did the other day, and I figured I owe you some form of gratitude, so I was wondering if.. You’d be free some time soon? Maybe this weekend? We can grab some food and sit by the park or do whatever it is you find amusing.”
Her smile grows, “Are you asking me for a date?”
“No, I’m showing you my gratitude,” He argues “But masked as a date, yes.”
It was practically impossible for her to bite down her grin by now. Eternally grateful that most of the lights in the library are out and that he couldn’t see the stupid smile on her face. She was sure that her cheeks were red and that her eyes were as big as puppy’s with how charming Matt is. Exactly how more perfect can the man sitting in front of her be? Beautiful face, delightful talking, and certainly a brilliant mind. At this point he could either be her knight in shining armour or a complete psychopath, no in between.
“So.. Would you have any free time?”
“How’s next week? Friday?”
Matt nods, smiling softly, “Friday it is.”
—-
Days leading up to the date passed as slow as it could get, even when they were spent by meeting her at the library before his night patrols. Matt knew that it was practically wrong of him to insert himself in her life. To come uninvited to her table that night, acting as if he didn’t know it was her nor did he not know of her presence, but in his defence, he didn’t deliberately plan to meet her. It only so happened that he finished his nightly patrol quickly that night and that she was in the library when he initially wanted to spend the rest of the night finishing his paperworks.
At that moment, he thought that God was aligning their stars. It wasn’t everyday that he had the urge to finish patrol early. It wasn’t everynight that he wanted to spend the rest of the night in the library. It certainly wasn’t every Friday that he would find her there. In fact, he couldn’t recall if she’s ever been to the library before. He would’ve caught the familiarity of her scent at the cafe if she was a regular there.
Though Matt knew that he couldn’t offer much to her, not his full time nor attention as they’re both reserved to keeping Hell’s Kitchen a little safer each night, Matt was willing to give everything he has left to get to know her better. It wasn’t everyday he could meet someone who would treat her with kindness that is pacifying without any hint of humiliation. She knows just the right amount of care to show without having to walk on eggshells around him and that’s something Matt very much appreciates.
All of it felt like it was meant to be. That he was meant to get that wrong order and that she was to intervene and rescue him from that God awful latte. It felt like he was meant to go to the library that night and meet her once again. And it certainly felt like their date tonight was meant to happen.
“Oh, this is gold,” She moans as she takes another bite of their pizza.
Matt smiles, satisfied to hear her blissful commentary, “It’s good, isn’t it?”
“The best,” She says shortly. There was a sudden silence from her and Matt wonders if something had happened but she quickly speaks “Uh, you’ve got.. Um, you’ve got some sauce on your lips.”
“Yeah?” Matt asks, his free hand wiping the sides of his lips.
“It’s still there. I think it’s dried a little,” She says, that hint of uncertainty reappearing in her voice “Can I just?”
“Yeah, go for it.”
And she wipes the corner of his lips gently. The warmth of his skin was in contrast to the cold wind that gushed their way and it only amplified the butterflies in her stomach as their skin made contact. Supposed he felt the unexpected jolt of electricity too because his jaw tenses a little before he lets out a sigh when she finishes wiping his lips.
“Thanks.” Matt whispers with a smile.
She didn’t say a word, only humming a little to show response.
Had Matt not have his heightened senses, he would have thought that something wrong happened but he could hear the not-so-steady beat of her heart and how her body heat rises a little. She was just nervous, just as much, if not less erratic than he is. If only she could feel his heart and hear just how loudly it’s beating right now, acting as if it’s trying to burst forth his ribcage, she would perhaps feel a little less agitated.
It was too soon to say, but Matt couldn’t ignore all the blissful connections they’ve shared. He felt as if he’s finally met his match. The knot to his strings, the solace to his rage. He knew that there’s still so many layers of himself that he’s yet to show her, the sides of Matt Murdock and Daredevil that he’s yet to expose to her, but for reasons he couldn’t explain, he felt like he could take his time and savour the moment as it unfolds.
A little egoistic of him, but what exactly can he do at the time?
“This is great,” She says, breaking his train of thought “I very much enjoyed tonight.”
“Oh no, are we reaching the end of the night?”
“No,” She chuckles, shaking her head “I just wanted to say it, just in case I forget to and you wonder if I’m having a great time or not.”
Matt grins, his heart swells in pride and joy, “I’m having a great time, too.”
The night passes far too fast for either of their liking. There seems to be a never ending topic for the both of them to discuss. From the major they’re taking, their roommates, down to how honking your car is illegal here in New York, everything feels like an interesting subject to dissect. Like an overflowing flow of soft ripples that hit your ankles on the beach shore. Soothing and intriguing at the same time.
Both their feet now carry them around the city, directionless yet certainly not lost. She was clutching on his arm, trying to make sure that he wouldn’t trip as they walked through the park and around the neighbourhood. For most it would certainly be the most bland date as neither of them knew where to go nor what to do, but neither of them had any complaints. It was perfect as it is.
Until it wasn’t.
Matt could feel the sudden spike of her heartbeat. Whoever it is that’s standing by the porch, whoever’s house party it is that they stumbled upon, she certainly didn’t have any intention to join nor stopped by at it, yet from the sweat that’s starting to build on her skin, he knew that she has to.
“About time you appear!” Some girl yells, clearly directed at her.
“Shoot,” She mutters, sounding like she was caught red handed over some crime he wasn’t sure about “She’s going to have my head on a spike for this one.”
“Is everything okay?” Matt asks, his brows knitted in confusion.
“Yeah, it’s just my friend’s birthday and I— Fuck,” She curses, running a hand through her hair “I completely forgot it’s today.”
Matt forces a smile, “It’s fine, we can call it a night.”
“No, I’ll be right back,” She whispers to him, squeezing his arm a little before she jogs a little to the group of people on the porch.
“Oh, you’re in so much trouble,” One of the girls says as she approaches them “Gaby’s been asking for you for hours! Your phone’s dead, we couldn’t reach you—,”
“I know, I know, I’m sorry,” She apologises, she was honest with her apology, Matt could hear it in her heartbeat “I completely forgot about her birthday party, and I double booked tonight, and I just—”
“So you chose to bail on your best friend's birthday instead?” Her friend argues.
“I mean, he’s cute, I would totally bail on Gaby’s birthday too,” Her other friend commented, making Matt smile a little “Who’s he? I didn’t know you’re seeing someone.”
“I— It’s a long story, okay? I’ll tell you guys later,” She frantically says, trying to save herself from the wrath of her friends “I’ll call it a night with him. Please don’t tell Gaby that I forgot about her birthday, okay? Just tell her I overslept or something.”
Matt bites the inner of his cheek. One of the downplay of hearing every and each conversation others have is knowing what’s to come before it actually hits you. Sure it might come as useful for certain times, but Matt was reluctant to bid his goodbye just yet. He wanted the night to last just a little bit longer, to feel her presence just a few hours longer and to walk around with her just a few miles further. Now it’s clear that he would have to scrape those desires off of his list.
“I am so so so sorry about this,” She says as she comes close to him, her words dripping with regret and guilt “I completely forgot about her birthday party and I just— God, we should’ve taken a left from that park.”
Matt chuckles, “We should have, yeah.”
“I’m really sorry,” She says once again “I’d invite you in but I don’t know how Gaby would react with me being four hours late to her birthday party and I really don’t want you to be trialled for it with me.”
“I understand, don’t worry about it.”
“God, I’m really the biggest arsehole there is, huh?”
“For now, yes,” Matt jests “But don’t worry about it. I had a great time.”
“I had a great time, too. Do you.. Do you know the way back?”
Matt nods, “I’ll manage.”
“Okay,” She smiles apologetically, clearly not wanting to part either yet her feet are already moving towards the house as her friends continue to call for her “I’m really sorry, Matt. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
Once again, Matt nods and smiles.
He turns his body away from the house, retracing his way back to the campus. Sure it wasn’t the most ideal way to end their date, he feels like he could and deserves to yell a bit to her friends for stealing her away from him ever so rudely like that, but he figures that he’s had his fair share of her tonight. He reminds himself that it was a Friday night. It was honestly a little too good to be true for someone as delightful as her to have her night free of dates and appointments, so to find out that she’s actually booked for a party is certainly not much of a surprise. Matt only wished that he didn’t know it the way he did.
They certainly should’ve taken a left from the park and avoided this neighbourhood altogether.
“Wait, Matt!”
Matt’s pace was put to a halt. He turns back to face the direction of her voice. He could hear her slight pants and the slight jog she made toward him. A small smile returned to his face, “Yes?”
“You surely didn’t think I’d let you go without a kiss, did you?” She asks, her breathing fickle from the short exercise “Or did you not want one?”
“I’d love one,” He says fast “Please.”
Matt’s grip on his cane tightened a little as she took a step closer. She places her arms around his shoulders and Matt swore he suddenly forgets what’s to do with his limbs. He wasn’t sure if he should put his hands on her waist or should he keep still. It was very much out of character for him. He’s had kisses before, had dates with plenty of other girls, but how is it that he has no idea how to act when it comes to her?
When their lips met, Matt swears that he could climb the Empire State Building with his bare hands. It was an uneventful kiss, certainly not the most creative that he’s ever had, but the electricity he felt was beyond compare. It was as if the kisses he’s had before were mere teasers to what it truly is. Like he was deprived of something he’s been so hungry from. Like he was deprived of her.
“I had a great time tonight,” She says as they part, sounding as if the kiss didn’t just flip her whole world upside down like it did to him “I’ll see you soon?”
“Tomorrow,” He promises “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay,” She agrees through her smile “Goodnight, Matt.”
“Goodnight.”
—-
She chews on her lower lip as if determined to make them bleed once again. Her eyes were glued to the clock, watching as it ticks with each second instead of averting her focus back to the papers on her table. Finishing her tasks prove to be a more challenging issue to tackle with each passing day.
Before she knew it, it was already Thursday. Matt promised to meet her the next day after their date, yet such a promise was never fulfilled. She figured that he might just have to do a rain check about their meeting, perhaps having some last minute task that he has to finish before the weekend ended, but even when Monday comes, he still was a no show.
Sorry, something happened. Will be in touch once it’s resolved. M
Now what should a girl do with such a short message?
Each day she would wake up early to go to the cafe where they first met and each noon when her classes were finished, she would try to run herself to the library, hoping that he would magically pop up out of nowhere like he did the very first night they met. Those efforts prove to be no avail as the expected man never bothered to make an entrance.
She wonders if their abrupt separation was what caused him to ghost her. She argues, the kiss they shared should’ve been enough to make him overlook the unpleasant farewell. It was much more than enough for her end, but could it be that it wasn’t the same for him? Could it be that he was more baffled about her last minute dick move that he decided to cut it off? Could it be that he’s had enough of her?
“Is this seat reserved?”
Her head perched up, excited to hear the familiar voice that she so missed about, “Unfortunately, yes. It’s been reserved for a week, actually.”
Matt shows an apologetic smile, “Is it still reserved?”
“Depends,” She teases, closing her laptop as she realises that there would be no work done for the rest of the night “If the culprit could explain and give a life-threatening excuse to save himself, I suppose he can still claim his reservation.”
“What if he could only offer an apology and say that he’s desperately sorry for being a douche?”
“No explanation?”
Matt hesitates, “No, none that he could disclose.”
“Not even a little?”
“I—,” Matt licks his bottom lip. It was a habit he does whenever he’s nervous, she notices. He takes the seat and rests his white cane on the side of the table. He looks troubled, like he’s trying to piece words in his mind that he’s not familiar with “Look, I.. I don’t exactly have any explanations to give you. I just.. I have been away. And I fear that I will have to be away for more times than I’d like in the future.”
She remains quiet, listening and watching as he tries to speak.
“I like you, a lot. We had the best date of my life last week, but I don’t think I have what you’re looking for,” He continues, looking conflicted and hurt with his own words “I just— I’m sorry, I really hope I could give more than what I have, but at the same time, I selfishly don’t want to lose you either so if we could just— If we could just be friends, I think I would like that very much.”
Matt could sense the piqued beating of her heart. The news he came to bear was certainly bitter, even more to him than her if he could only be so honest. But what happened earlier this week made him realise that he wasn’t in a position to be in a relationship with anyone. Especially not with someone who looks like she’s willing to go the extra mile for him.
It was supposed to be an easy rescue mission. Some petty robbery that happened on some dingy alley of Hell’s Kitchen that he expected to be settled an hour at most, only to turn out to be a complicated one as he came home with more bruises and wounds than he could count. He had to once again lie to Foggy and say that he was the one being robbed by a group of thugs in order to be able to go to their dorm room and sleep in. But as the lies roll off of his tongue, Matt realises that she would be another person he would have to lie to everytime he comes back bruised from a patrol. She would be another person he would have to deceive with excuses that never truly touch the truth. She would be another tally in his long list of people to ask forgiveness from.
And that’s something he doesn’t think he could live in for long.
So he figured to lock himself inside for a couple of days until his bruises heal. He refuses to meet her when he’s still littered with wounds he couldn’t explain to her about. Even when his finger itches to text her, even when his feet were begging him to let them carry him to the library, even when he was yearning for him more than ever, Matt has to hold himself within the walls of his dorm room that feels like they’re closing in with every passing day.
Now that he finally looks decent enough to go back to his classes, he finally gathered the guts to see and talk to her. There was a mix of bittersweet feelings when he sensed her sitting by their table alone. Relieved to know that she’s waiting, yet sorry that he has to come bearing bad news.
“I.. I don’t know what to say,” She says, blinking rapidly as she tries to digest his words “Are you in some kind of trouble, Matt? You can talk to me if you are. We can try and figure it out.”
“No, no, I’m fine,” He answers “It’s more of a.. Me thing. I just have to deal with some things first.”
She nods, feeling a hint of grief pooling in her heart, “I see.”
There was a pause. Neither have the slightest idea to go forward from this. Both clearly want to continue whatever it is they left off, but they’re truly on a stalemate here, aren’t they? What could she do when he’s asked her to let this go and stay as friends instead? What could he do when he wanted to have her close but only have just started to be the Daredevil? What could they do when they have so much to say yet so little to share?
“I’m really sorry,” Matt says instead.
“No, I understand,” She shakes her head, forcing a smile “Friends it is, then.”
And so it begins. The never ending loop of wasting each other’s time for the sake of wasting time. The never ending cycle of stealing a brush of the other’s hand under the table for the sake of accidental touches. The never ending series of pouring each others’ heart through the stories they share just for the sake of sharing. Always more than what friends do, but never less than what lovers should.

Eddie Diaz Masterlist
Part 1
Summary: After a harsh argument, Eddie and (Y/n)'s eldest daughter runs off. And they have to go and find her, scaring (Y/n) and the rest of the kids.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay, ready?"
Tilting her head back, (Y/n) tried to force herself to smile and when Eddie held his hands out in front of her, she reached out for him. She let him help her out the car and as soon as she was on her feet, his left arm swooped around her waist, holding her into his chest like he thought someone was going to snatch her away.
Her head fell on Eddie's shoulder and she moved to press a kiss against his neck while his fingers ran up and down the side of her stomach. She could feel his right hand on her hip and his lips pressed to the top of her head as they walked slowly towards the emergency room.
(Y/n) didn't like this.
In all of their other four pregnancies, (Y/n) had only been down to the emergency room twice. They had a running streak of having easy, uncomplicated pregnancies. (Y/n) didn't want to start having complications now with baby number five.
Eddie's lips stayed meshed against her hair and he moved his right hand up from her hip to hold her shoulder. One of the many nerves sparking through his chest dulled down a little when he felt (Y/n) hold his left wrist and give a small squeeze.
It was a relief when they walked into reception and noted that there weren't many other people here tonight. Although it was only early into the evening, the emergency room usually livened up after nine o'clock.
"Do you wanna sit down and I'll tell them we're here," Eddie moved his hands down to (Y/n)'s hips and waited until she was sat down before he dared let her go.
He didn't like the tension he could see on (Y/n)'s face or how uncomfy she looked as she began smoothing her hand across her abdomen as if it would take away the contractions.
His eyes couldn't tear away from her even as he walked across to the reception desk that was thankfully vacant of a queue. He leaned his left elbow down on the desk and dragged his free hand through his hair. Eddie knew his smile wasn't convincing. The worry was evident on his face.
His family was the only thing that could get Eddie panicked like this.
"How can I help?"
"Hi, uh I've brought my wife, (Y/n) Diaz. She's only thirty weeks pregnant but she's started having contractions over the last hour or two. They're not going away."
"Her waters haven't broken yet? No falls or straining or accidents today?"
"No, none of that, just stress."
In the back of his mind, Eddie was waiting for (Y/n)'s water to break. The rational part of his mind knew that wasn't likely, she had only just started getting the contractions and if they got (Y/n) calmed down and looked at by a doctor, the contractions might stop. But Eddie felt like it would be just their luck to go and have this baby now.
He'd never looked after a preemie before, none of their babies had ever been this early. Eddie didn't want to have to think about having one of his babies in the neonatal unit, having to see them in an incubator rather than hold them and cuddle them and take them home.
Eddie had held every one of their kids after they were born and he cut all the umbilical cords, he wanted to keep that tradition with this baby.
"Take a seat and someone will call you in soon."
"Thanks." His fingers continued to card through his hair as he walked away from the desk and slumped down in the seat next to (Y/n).
At least this had happened after they found Liv. They weren't out combing the streets or sat crying, wondering where she was. That would definitely have pushed (Y/n) into early labour. But all the kids were safe with Bobby and Athena for the night and they were all happy to be with their grandparents for the night.
Reaching his hand across, Eddie curled his fingers around (Y/n)'s thigh and tried to smile when she leaned her cheek on his shoulder.
They stayed quiet for a few moments but (Y/n)couldn't help but wince and curl into Eddie when she felt another contraction.
She opened her eyes and looked up at him when his hand moved from her thigh to cup her stomach. He kissed the top of her head and started moving his hand around the lower part of her stomach for a while, trying to distract himself and take (Y/n)'s mind of the dull aching pain.
"Do you think I'll go into labour?" (Y/n) kept her voice quiet and turned to the left so she could push into Eddie's side a little more. Her hands moved to his arm that was draped across her chest and she curled her hands tightly around his bicep. Holding him against her as if he would dare let her go.
"I don't think so. They should be able to stop the contractions before that happens, mi amor. Don't worry."
"I hope so." (Y/n) murmured against his shoulder. She didn't want to have their baby now. They'd never had an early birth especially not this early on.
"You'll both be fine." Eddie moved his free hand to cup (Y/n)'s jaw so he could kiss her temple, gliding his thumb up and down her cheek for a few seconds.
"(Y/n) Diaz?"
They were both glad they didn't have to wait long. Neither of them were fans of waiting, it only made them both panic more and Eddie couldn't be doing with anymore panic. Not tonight. Not for the next few months.
He weaved his arm around (Y/n)'s waist and helped her up, gluing his chest into her back as they made a steady, slow walk down the corridor after the nurse that called them over. (Y/n) kept hold of his wrist and tried to take deep breaths and calm her system down. They followed her down into one of the cubicles and when she kindly pointed towards the bed, (Y/n) walked over.
Her teeth sank down into her lower lip and her hand tightened around Eddie's wrist while her other hand pressed into the bed and she leaned forward. A deep, shuddering breath escaped her lips and she closed her eyes, wishing away the contraction.
With each one that hit, (Y/n) suddenly feared she was going to look down and see her waters break and trickle down her legs. But it hadn't happened yet. That had to be a good sign.
"Okay, how far along are you, (Y/n)?"
When she sat down on the bed, (Y/n) reached back out for Eddie's hand, relieved when he moved closer and stood beside her. His other hand tangled in her hair and he leaned down to kiss her temple, momentairely taking her mind off her discomfort.
"Thirty weeks."
"And it's just contractions that came on tonight, no other problems or symptoms? No fluids or bleeding?"
"Nothing like that." (Y/n) lifted her shirt up and tucked it beneath her bra while she shook her head. Her hand deadlocked around Eddie's and she tried to focus on him instead. He had his left hand tangled in hers and his right arm was now bound in front of his chest so tightly he was barely breathing. His chin tilted down and his eyes were intently focused on (Y/n)'s stomach as if he wished to see through her skin and check on the baby himself.
He watched the nurse press the heel of her hands down on (Y/n)'s stomach and move around but he could see the way (Y/n) twitched and held her breath when it hurt.
"Well baby feels quite high up from the pelvis which is a good sign, and contractions don't seem close together. Let's do a scan and see baby's heartbeat."
Moving her hand, (Y/n) bit down on her thumb and watched the nurse move the ultrasound over.
What would they do if something was wrong? What if the baby was distressed or (Y/n) really did have to go and have the baby tonight? Would the baby be alright? They'd have to call Athena and Bobby and see if the kids could stay with them. They'd have to get things changed and sorted out if the baby was coming now.
They didn't even have the crib down from the attic yet. This baby hadn't exactly been planned, but after having Lilah, they kept the crib in the attic in case they had any more kids down the line. It wasn't so surprising to find out they were having another baby; there was only one year separating Trixie and Lilah, after all.
"Is this your first?" The nurse smiled softly while she moved the sonogram around (Y/n)'s stomach. She was clearly trying to keep them both calm and relaxed and stop them from panicking.
Eddie managed a smile and gave (Y/n)'s hand a squeeze before he shook his head. "No… no this is number five."
Eddie could still hear the team teasing him amidst their congratulations when he told them (Y/n) was pregnant again. He was by far the one in the team with the most kids which everyone loved to point out. It was something Eddie was proud of.
"Oh, you're experts at this then." She smiled kindly before she turned the monitor so they could both see. "Okay, baby's head isn't near the pelvis, they've stayed in the usual position thus far. Fluid levels look good, placenta is in place and blood flow is all okay."
Relief swarmed through (Y/n) as she looked between Eddie and the monitor. They could see their baby up there on the screen, just the same as they had been last week at their routine scan. If that all sounded okay then they had a big chance of walking out of here in a few hours with their baby right where they should be.
"You shouldn't have started to dilate yet which is good for us… I'd like to check your blood pressure and temperature and if all looks okay, I'll go fetch a doctor. We can give you an injection to relax your muscles and stop the contractions."
She took a quick picture of the scan before she handed (Y/n) some towels to clean the gel from her stomach.
That sounded good.
Their baby wasn't moving or engaging ready to be born, (Y/n)'s body was just getting confused and panicked. But she wasn't showing signs of fully going into labour and her body clearly wasn't ready if her waters hadn't broken and the baby wasn't moving down yet.
(Y/n) held out her arm and waited patiently for the band to tighten around her upper arm below her shoulder. She watched Eddie lean over to look at the results and he nodded. Her blood pressure was within the normal range which was as surprising as it was reassuring.
"Temperature is good, I'll go get everything ready."
"Thank you." Once she left the room, Eddie leaned down and pressed his lips to the top of (Y/n)'s head while she gave his hand a squeeze. "See? Our girl's not going anywhere."
"It might be another boy." (Y/n) smiled tiredly and tilted her head back, trying to dampen down her smile when Eddie kissed her. He kissed her again and a third time and he smirked when (Y/n) gave a sharp tug on his hand when he pulled away.
Her eyes followed him as he leaned over and grazed his fingers across her stomach and kissed the top of her bump.
"It's a girl, trust me."
They never found out the gender during each pregnancy, they waited until the birth to find out and so far, every time Eddie said they were having a girl, he was right. (Y/n) had been right when they had Chris, she just knew they would have a boy. And she thought this time they might be having another little boy, but Eddie was dead set on a fourth girl.
The guys at the station were all placing bets about the baby and only Hen and Athena thought it would be a boy, the same as (Y/n). Everyone else was betting on a girl. With Eddie's track history of three daughters, guessing on a girl seemed the safest bet.
"This is Doctor Menon," The nurse smiled and came back into the room with a metal trolley that (Y/n) didn't dare look at. She didn't want to see any needles. She wasn't queasy when the kids were having their vaccinations but anything for (Y/n) herself, made her feel faint. Which wasn't good with the amount of blood tests she had to have each time she was pregnant.
"Hi there. Let's see if we can get you and baby settled again, shall we?"
"Oh God," (Y/n) looked over at Eddie when she caught sight of the needle. That didn't look good.
"Are you not good with needles?" The doctor's voice was soothing and she had a calm smile. She must see a lot of patients who weren't the best when it came to having injections or getting bloods taken.
(Y/n) shook her head wordlessly and kept her eyes on Eddie who only smiled and kissed her temple. At least she was lying down. Eddie wouldn't have to reach out and catch (Y/n). When she'd had a vitamin injection three months ago she blacked out so fast Eddie had to lean forward and catch her before she crumpled down to the floor.
This way if she felt sick or fainted or just blacked out, she was lying down and wouldn't hurt herself.
"It's just one injection but it's in your tummy I'm afraid."
"How long until we know if it's worked?" Eddie pulled (Y/n)'s hand so he could kiss the back of her hand and hold it against his lips.
"We'll do the injection, set up the monitors to watch over the baby and keep you here in observation. If the contractions stop and all vitals look good, we can send you home later on tonight."
The doctor could see her words made (Y/n) feel a lot better. She wanted to go home. She thought coming here would mean getting checked over and possibly be admitted onto a ward. The worst case scenario was being shipped across to the maternity ward and having this baby now or within the next few days. But everything had to be okay if they were willing to send (Y/n) home tonight.
"Try and hold still, it won't take long."
(Y/n) pressed her face into Eddie's hip and felt his fingers tangling through her hair. She pushed as close to him as she could while he held her hand against his lips and watched the doctor. A shiver tore through (Y/n)'s stomach at the antiseptic wipe across her stomach and Eddie clenched his jaw when he looked at the needle. He could feel his heart breaking for (Y/n).
The moment the needle punctured into her stomach, (Y/n) whimpered and tried to tense up and stay still. She could feel her head clouding over and the baby twisted as the needle went right into her muscles.
Her head felt fuzzy and her heartbeat pulsed through her temple so loud (Y/n) didn't hear the doctor telling her it was all done. She stayed still and silent, huddling close to Eddie when monitoring stickers were placed around her stomach and a pulse clip was placed on her index finger.
"We'll leave you be for a while and we'll do checks every twenty minutes. If the contractions don't stop in the next ten minutes, page for a nurse and we can try another injection."
"Thank you. See, mi amor, you're both gonna be fine."
***
"Everything's okay then? I won't- I won't start having anymore contractions again, will I?"
(Y/n) bit down on her thumb and looked over at the nurse before she looked across at Eddie. She always seemed to look for validation from Eddie rather than from the doctors. It was as if Eddie's medical knowledge was better or more advanced. But (Y/n) knew it was because he knew just how to calm her down and if Eddie thought everything was okay, (Y/n) would too.
She was glad the doctor was doing an ultrasound now that the contractions had stopped, just to put everyone's mind at ease.
"Contractions haven't come back in three hours, your vitals are fine and baby is very settled. I'm happy to discharge you and I'll make a note for you to see a midwife in two days just to be safe."
(Y/n) nodded and sat up, relieved to have the annoying, itching monitoring stickers removed from her stomach.
The contractions had come to a stop almost five minutes after the injection and they hadn't started since. It left (Y/n) and Eddie to sit and chat and almost drift off to sleep if it weren't for the checks the nurse made every twenty minutes.
"For the next two weeks you need to be on bed rest, though. No heavy lifting, no straining or stress. If you lose any fluid or have any kind of pains or contractions, come straight back. Okay?"
"Thank you."
(Y/n) would take that. She would go on bed rest- and not just because she knew Eddie and the kids would all enforce it. She had been on bed rest when they had Lilah for the last month when she got sick and her blood pressure rose. All the kids had loved it because they stayed in bed with (Y/n) and brought her drinks and baked her cookies and made her presents. She had never felt so loved.
She would stay in bed and take it easy if it meant keeping the baby safe and sound where they were. They couldn't have the baby yet, the contractions couldn't come back.
Eddie took the folded discharge papers and put them in his back pocket, securing his arm around (Y/n)'s waist when she stood up. He could tell from the way she leaned against him that her legs had turned to jelly from how long they had been sat in here, but it was more than worth it. It was worth the back ache and the numb, stuff legs if it meant (Y/n) and the baby were okay.
With a gentle smile, (Y/n) wrapped both her arms around Eddie's waist and buried her face in his chest as they walked out the cubicle and headed back down to reception to leave.
As soon as they were outside and Eddie had a signal back on his phone, he scrolled through his messages.
Bobby must have told Evan the situation because he had at least three messages and a missed call from Evan. Asking if everything was alright, if he needed Evan to have the kids tonight or tomorrow for them and to call him when he had news.
But Eddie felt his heart spasming when he realised he had a few messages off Liv too.
*Is mum okay? x *Are you having the baby? Is it my fault? x *Dad are you and mum mad with me? x *Dad I can't sleep. Can't I come down to the hospital and stay with you and mum? Please. Please. Please. x
"Okay?" (Y/n) mumbled softly into Eddie's shirt when he stopped walking and started scrolling through his phone.
"Yeah, just gonna call your dad, make sure the kids are okay." Eddie clicked on Bobby's contact and carried on guiding them towards the car.
He knew if he showed (Y/n) the messages from Liv she would only get upset and start to get worried again. He would talk to Bobby and see how all of the kids were but it was past eleven at night now so chances were they were all asleep. Although Liv's last message had been forty-five minutes ago so Eddie wasn't sure if she would be asleep or not.
"Eddie, how's everything going? Is she okay?"
There was no hint of tiredness in Bobby's voice and Eddie figured his father n law wouldn't go to sleep until he had heard about (Y/n) and knew what was happening. He was a worrier, just like Eddie, the only difference being Bobby knew how to remain calm.
Eddie kissed the top of (Y/n)'s head and helped her down into the car before he shut the door and leaned up against the bonnet.
"They're both okay, contractions have stopped, thank God. I'm taking her home now and as long as she's on bed rest she should be fine. Are the kids okay?"
"Oh that's a relief. All of them are fine, Chris didn't want to sleep he was a bit excited but the three of them are fast off now. Liv was still worried though, so we're having a hot chocolate."
That was what Eddie was expecting. Chris wouldn't have been settled at a surprise sleepover but since it was with his grandparents, Eddie wasn't expecting a meltdown. Chris had been hyper at the thought of staying over on a school night, something that only happened if his parents were away or unwell but he had been reassured they were both fine.
Now Chris and Trixie were fast asleep in the back room and Lilah was asleep with Athena. It was only Liv who refused to go to bed and Bobby couldn't blame her so he said he would stay awake with her and try to get her to go to sleep soon.
"You take (Y/n) home, I'm not on shift tomorrow so I'll sort the kids and take them to school."
"Thanks Bobby. Can you put Liv on for me?"
He waited patiently and heard a shuffling sound as Bobby handed the phone over to his eldest granddaughter. Her voice was timid on the other end and it made Eddie's heart break. He didn't know how many times he would have to reassure her that he wasn't angry with her, but Eddie would tell her a million times if he had to if it would calm her down.
"Liv, baby why are you still up, you okay?"
"I can't sleep, I wanted to go with you. Is mum okay?" Her voice gave away the fact that she was close to tears. And Eddie didn't want to speculate how much Liv had cried tonight, all because of him.
"She's fine I promise. I can take her home now on bed rest, the contractions have stopped."
"So- so the baby's not coming?"
"No births today… baby do you want us to come and pick you up? We're going home, we can stop by and get you and you can stay home with us tonight."
Eddie sighed and smiled to himself as he rounded the bonnet and climbed in the driver's seat. He could see what would happen if he didn't go and get Liv. Their daughter wouldn't sleep, (Y/n) would panic and Eddie would stay up all night wondering if Liv was okay and he would end up messaging her to check on her.
If the rest of the kids were fine and fast asleep, they could stay with Bobby and Athena for the night. It wouldn't be right or fair to wake them up and drag them out of bed in the middle of the night when they had school in the morning.
But if Liv was panicked and she wasn't going to settle, Eddie would rather bring her home where she would feel safe. Then, if she didn't sleep at home, Liv would at least be somewhere she was comfortable and she would be with her parents.
"You'll come get me? Just me?"
"Yeah, just you baby. Go tell grandad that I'll be fifteen minutes, okay?"
Turning her head to the right, (Y/n) tiredly opened her eyes and looked across at Eddie. "What are we doing?" She mumbled softly, giving Eddie's thigh a squeeze as he put his phone back in his pocket and started the car.
"We're gonna go get Liv and go home, mi amor."
***
A quiet groan vibrated at the back of Eddie's throat and he tiredly opened his eyes, trying to look around and take in his surroundings.
He pulled his head away from (Y/n)'s neck that he had been tucked into while he was sleeping and he slowly lifted his head and looked around. While his hand twitched and moved across (Y/n)'s stomach.
Eddie could barely feel his left shoulder from laying on his side for so long. His chest was moulded up into (Y/n)'s back with his right leg wedged between her thighs and his right arm protectively over her waist. He'd had a hand glued to her stomach since they'd left the hospital, even in his sleep he seemed attached to her and the baby.
He blinked through the darkness and looked around before his gaze locked on the doorway.
The bedroom door was open. Liv was stood in the doorway.
The eldest girl was stood there, a small halo of light from the hallway cast around her like a luminous glow. She had her arms folded and her hand anxiously rubbing up and down her arms, but she didn't move from the doorway.
It was what she always used to do as a child. Whenever she had a nightmare or she was worried about something and she knew she should be asleep, Liv would wait in the doorway. She would wait until her parents smiled or beckoned her over. They never told her off but she always feared being in trouble for being up late.
"Dad?"
"What's up baby?" Eddie's voice was thick and groggy as he slowly unravelled his arm from (Y/n)'s waist and pulled his leg free from the clutches of her thighs.
He flopped over onto his back and sat up to look over at her. It was past two in the morning and they had gotten home just after midnight. Eddie had hoped Liv would feel more comfortable back in her own bed and would of managed to get some sleep.
He and (Y/n) had already agreed that Liv didn't have to go to school tomorrow. She'd had a shock tonight and she was upset, not to mention she wasn't going to get much sleep. They didn't want her feeling horrid and going to school where she wouldn't be able to concentrate and would just feel upset.
"I can't sleep."
Liv continued to rub her hands up and down her arms, despite the twinge of pain in her right wrist that her grandad had graciously bandaged up for her when her dad confirmed it was only sprained.
She had tried to sleep, she tried everything. But she kept waking up. Her mind was too wired to go to sleep and she didn't know what to do. All Liv wanted was to sit with her parents. This was the first night in weeks where she had been alone with them without the younger kids and Liv wanted their comfort.
She wasn't at school in the morning so she would be home all day with both parents while her siblings were at school. But she couldn't sleep. She didn't know what to do.
"Do- do you want in?"
Without thinking twice, Eddie lifted the cover and motioned to the bed while his mind drew a blank.
He couldn't remember the last time Liv had climbed into bed with them. She was fourteen now, she was growing up and that hurt. But if she wanted to stay with them tonight, neither he or (Y/n) would have a problem with that.
They were used to Chris getting in bed with them, especially when he'd had a nightmare. And Lilah was almost always sneaking in because she didn't like sleeping alone. Sharing a room with Trixie wasn't enough, Lilah loved being cuddled and comforted. But it had been a long time since Liv had crawled into bed with them for a hug and a good night's sleep.
Eddie could feel his lips quirking into a smile when Liv hurried over to the bed in a split second. She didn't think, contemplate, frown or look indecisive. She took the offer straight away.
She crawled onto the end of the bed and scurried up the middle and when Eddie shuffled over, she slid beneath the covers in the middle of the bed.
Liv smiled and burrowed down beneath the cover, feeling her heart jump free from her chest when Eddie kissed the top of her head and moved his pillow towards her. She laid on her back and held her breath, unsure which way to lie or how to snuggle down. But she stayed still when her mum started to move.
(Y/n) tiredly turned over to face the other way but her eyes shot open when she moved her arm and realised Eddie was no longer right behind her. When she realised who it was, (Y/n)'s tired expression softened and she leaned forward to kiss Liv's cheek. Her left arm looped around Liv's waist and she cuddled up to her, relieved when Liv held her arm and stayed tucked up in the embrace.
"Hi sweetie,"
Liv stayed lying on her back with (Y/n)'s arm over her chest and she closed her eyes when she felt Eddie curve his arm around her too and press another sloppy kiss to the top of her head.
"You know we love you, don't you, sweetie?" (Y/n) could feel sleep ebbing away at her and clawing at the back of her mind, but she wanted to talk to Liv first. They hadn't spoken much in the car; all three of them had been tired but now clearly Liv was wide awake.
"I know, I just… you're always so happy when you have a new baby, I don't- I don't want you to forget me."
Her eyes stayed closed so she wouldn't have to look at either parent and see their expressions. But when she felt both of them inch closer to her and wrap around her, she felt like crying. This is what she wanted. Liv wanted to feel like the younger kids, like she was the centre of their world and nothing else mattered.
She knew she had to share her parent's attention, Liv was the eldest so she understood this more than any of them. And she loved her sisters and her little brother.
But it didn't stop her from wanting her parent's attention or from worrying that with another baby in the house, she might be forgotten.
Liv could do more than her siblings. She could make her own food if she wanted to, she could clean and go out on her own and walk home from school by herself. She was more independent but she didn't want that to mean she had to stop feeling loved or that she had to do things by herself or look after her siblings. She worried a new baby meant there wouldn't be enough attention and that she wouldn't be as important anymore.
"Baby girl we could never forget you or push you away. You're our first baby, you're just as important. We don't have favourites you know, we really don't, you're all special and we love all of you."
Eddie spoke quietly against the top of her head while his hand cradled her face and his thumb brushed up and down her cheekbone. He closed his eyes and continued to kiss her head, keeping her as close as he could without suffocating her.
"This baby won't replace you or push you away, sweetie. You, are so special."
"Plus, being the eldest means you're the one we brag about the most." Eddie's voice lowered as he felt himself on the verge of sleep.
But his heart picked up the pace and he cracked an eye open when Liv gripped his wrist and tilted her head back so she could look up at him. They locked eyes in the darkness and Eddie could see traces of a smile on her face as she shimmied closer to him beneath the cover.
"You brag about me?"
He grinned and let out a low chuckle, moving closer until Liv was cuddled into his chest and he could stretch his arm across both of his girls. This was how they used to lay when it was just the three of them. This was how they cuddled up when Liv was little.
This was a memory that Eddie was so, so happy to relive and go through again.
"Of course we brag about you. I tell everyone at work what a smart-ass girl you are and how proud we are of you."
It made him think back to the time when Liv was nine, back in Texas. She'd started getting bad nightmares to the point she wouldn't sleep on her own. At first, she had dragged Eddie from his bed every single night and made him stay in her room with her until she fell asleep.
But then when Liv used to wake up and realise Eddie was no longer there, she would scream.
For over three months straight, Liv had come into Eddie and (Y/n)'s room and slept with them each night to feel safe. Even with Trixie being a toddler in the cot in the corner of the room and (Y/n) being pregnant with Lilah, they had still had Liv in bed with them every night to make her feel safe. And when Chris would come and find them, they had all their kids in the same room with them.
But this was different; this was better. It wasn't Liv being too frightened to sleep alone or waking with nightmares and staying with them every night.
It was Liv wanting comfort and attention while they were all alone together, and Eddie and (Y/n) were more than happy to oblige.
"Get some sleep, baby. We'll talk more in the morning. Love you."
Y/n is close with Abby like the mom figure to Gibbs being her dad figure. Gibbs and y/n have only ever had words in passing They are always friendly with a flirt now and then. One day Gibbs uses Abby's cot to get some rest he wakes up to y/n and Abby talking about blind dates.
"Y/n I'm gonna find you a companion in life. Just do one more date"
*y/n sighs* "I'm just not the type of person people are looking for and that's ok"
*as she leaves the lab* "Abs some people are ment to be alone"
Gibbs comes out telling Abby that he will be taking y/n on the next date.
This is such a sweet idea!! I’m sticking it with this request bc I feel like they just fit together so perfectly. I hope that’s okay by both of you 🥹 thank you so much for the love!
Jethro Gibbs x f!reader
TW: alcohol, a smidge of angst (reader thinks she’ll be forever alone), mostly just a heap of fluff
A/N: I’ve never been able to use any of my nerdy lab knowledge in a fic before so sorry if I went a little overboard lmao (I’m a pre-analytical training coordinator and spend my days teaching people to be labbies basically). Thank you so so so much for reading! ❤️
Just before you left for the day, you decided to head down to the lab check in on Abby. It was quality control week, meaning she had to got to run test patients on all of her instruments, confirm the results are what they should be, order biological indicator tests to make sure no foreign bacteria snuck its way in where it shouldn’t have, then do it all over again a dozen or so times to make sure the results match up.
Not that Abby is anything less than capable of completing the quarterly checks, it just gets very tedious, and Abby is not a fan of busy work.
“Hey Abs,” You greeted her sweetly.
“There is no Abby, only QC’s,” She quipped back in her best robot voice.
You only chuckled in response and grabbed a pair of gloves without another word. You started resulting the tests in her queue, a feeble attempt to help the boring task move along faster.
The two of you worked quietly on opposite sides of the lab for another half hour until you moved the last tube into the “finished” tray.
“Wanna grab some dinner?” You questioned, removing your gloves and heading over to the sink to wash your hands.
“No, thanks; already ate,” Abby responded without looking up from her work, “Hey! How did that date go last night? I can’t believe I forgot until now! Tell me everything.”
Abby turned towards you excitedly, her eyes bright and body fidgeting in anticipation. You swear she was more invested in your love life than you were sometimes.
You started to shake your head “no” and Abby let out a loud groan.
“Ugh! I had such a good feeling about this one,” She spoke in disappointment.
“You said that the last time, too, Abs,” You leaned against the counter and crossed your arms lazily, “He asked me to meet his mom. On the first date!”
Abby visibly cringed and put a hand lovingly on your bicep.
“I’m gonna find you a companion, I swear it!”
You let out a sound that’s half laugh, half sigh before you speak, “It’s okay, really. I’m just not the type of person anyone is looking for, and I can’t find the person I’m looking for. It’s just the way it is, Abby.”
She sent you a sympathetic look, squeezing your arm in reassurance. Abby pulled you into a tight hug, like she was trying to will a new love life into you with her bare hands.
You sent her a loving smile when she finally pulled away from you.
“Well, I’m gonna head out. You sure I can’t drag you away for something to eat?”
“No, no. I have too much to get done,” She motions to the empty tubes behind her, “Don’t lose hope, Boss Lady. Your perfect man is out there.”
You headed towards the door before turning around to tell her goodbye, “Some people are just meant to be alone. It’ll be me and the dogs forever,” You smiled slightly, “Goodnight, Abs.”
You made it almost out the door of the NCIS building before you realized you left your purse in the lab. With a huff, you begrudgingly dragged yourself back into the elevator, down to the lab, and right up to the doorway. The surprise of two distinct voices coming from within stopped you in your tracks.
“Gibbs! You can’t sneak up on me like that! I didn’t know you were using the cot.”
“Sorry, Abs. You often set her up on blind dates?”
“Yes! I am determined to find my wonderful boss’ soulmate somewhere in the greater DC area.”
Jethro chuckles.
“I can’t believe I didn’t see it before now! She’s just your type, Gibbs, and she’s so fun and cryptic just like you and—“
“Abby,” He paused, “Way ahead of you.”
You decided now was your chance. Knocking gently on the doorframe, both of them turned their heads to see who was there.
“Hey Abby; Jethro,” You smiled, trying not to act like you just heard their whole conversation about you, “I just, uh, left my purse.”
Abby looked around and spotted your bag, handing it to you with a cheeky grin on her face. You all stood there in semi-uncomfortable silence for a beat before Gibbs spoke.
“Have any plans tomorrow night, Red?”
You straightened up a bit at his question and the playful nickname. You are just his type.
“Um, no. I don’t. Not yet, anyway.” You tried to keep an even tone, but the nerves and excitement were practically seeping out of your pours.
“My place, 7 o’clock,” Gibbs said in his nonchalant tone, “Casual. Hope you like bourbon.”
He winked at you and walked out of the lab before you could even exhale the breathe you hadn’t known you were holding. You looked at Abby, your eyes wider than ever before.
“Eee! I’m so excited!” Abby squeals and flings her arms around you.
You couldn’t even put any thoughts together. Your heart pounded out of your chest and your hands must’ve been shaking, the adrenaline of the situation just starting to wear off.
“Come on,” Abby said while sliding her jacket off the back of her chair, “I’ll finish up tomorrow. We have to plan your date. With Gibbs!”
You let out a laugh and wrapped an arm over Abby’s shoulders, heading out to grab something to eat.
You nervously sifted through your tops, trying to find something that felt “casual,” as Jethro had requested, but still nice enough for a date.
Oh screw it.
You grabbed a plain olive green hoodie, the big white letters reading NCIS. You figured if he asked for casual, he would get casual.
The drive to Gibbs’ house went quickly. You’d been there once before, when Abby insisted Gibbs needed company one New Year’s Eve. You didn’t end up staying very long, but he left an impression on you. After the visit, Gibbs started stopping to say “hello” in the hallways at work, or bringing a coffee up your office every now and then.
One detail you remembered from your brief visit is the front door was never locked, so you didn’t bother to stop and knock.
Walking through the doorway, your eyes immediately gravitated to the only light on in the house — the one leading down the stairs to the basement. You took this as your sign to invite yourself downstairs.
The stairs creaked slightly as you made your way down, the sounds of sandpaper meeting wood filled your ears.
“You found the place,” Jethro’s strong voice greeted you as you stepped into his workspace.
“How could I forget?” You teased back.
Jethro let out a honey-soaked chuckle and offered you a stool to sit on. He poured you two fingers out of his half-empty bottle of bourbon, then did the same for himself. He tipped his glass to you and you tapped yours against it with a slight clink.
You shut your eyes as the amber liquid burned down your throat. Instinctively, you leaned back against the counter and let out an exhale.
“Long day?” Jethro joked, but you could see the genuine care when you opened your eyes to meet his gaze.
“Long week,” You responded before taking another sip, “Abby’s up to her eyeballs in evidence to examine, plus all this QC crap takes so much time. I just feel bad I can’t help her more. I didn’t realize taking the lead forensics position would take me out of the lab so much.”
Jethro nodded in understanding, one corner of his mouth tilting up slightly as he poured more into your already empty cup.
“Abby’s the best of the best,” He said with confidence, placing a hand reassuringly on your knee, “She’ll get it done.”
You smiled and nodded back at him, placing your hand over his as a silent thank you.
You were surprised when Jethro broke the comfortable silence first.
“You know she thinks the world of you, Red,” He said with a look in his eye, one that almost looked like pride if you had to guess.
You felt your cheeks get hot and you looked down at your shoes, unsure if the liquor or his sweet comment made you blush.
You took another sip before lifting your head back up and responding.
“Same goes for you, Jethro,” You reached out to grab the hand that rested on your knee just moments before, “I think if she had time to write a book about how much she adores you, she would.”
He laughed, a full laugh, glazed in honey and bourbon and it warmed you to your core. You thought that sound could end wars, cause the devil himself to crack a smile. You would have melted right there if he didn’t jolt you out of your trance a moment later.
He took the glass from your hand and whispered a quick, “c’mere.”
He took your hand and led you over to the boat he was building. He showed you a few small hand tools and gave you a quick explanation of their use.
Before long, his hands were resting over yours, your back pressed gently against his chest as he showed you the different sanding techniques he used. Though every inch of his body was pressed against yours, you’d never felt so free, so held and yet, so comfortable.
It was a quiet few minutes before he spoke, his lips inches from your ear.
“You ever done this before?” His breath tickled your neck and sent a shiver down your spine.
“Never,” You breathed, trying your hardest not to just melt into his strong arms.
“You’re a natural then.”
He slowly peeled his hands back from yours, allowing you to keep sanding on your own for a moment. You felt his strong hands slide down your arms, your sides, before settling on your hips.
Your eyelids fluttered, suddenly aware of the effect he had on you. Your movements halted and Jethro raised a hand cautiously to your chin, turning your head to face him.
“This okay?” He questioned gently, a worried look settled into his furrowed brows.
You didn’t answer immediately. Instead, turning your whole body to face his, your arms sliding over his broad shoulders to rest at the back of his neck.
“Only if you intend to kiss me, Jethro,” His name danced from your lips in a whisper.
A soft smile spread across his face, the worry melting away in an instant.
“Yes, ma’am, I do.”
Before you could comprehend, the hand that was still on your chin drifted to hold you just below your ear, and his lips melted into yours in a sweet, slow kiss.
He tasted of bourbon and something you were sure was just distinctly him.
You leaned further into him as your lips met over and over again. His presence wasn’t demanding, but invasive. You felt Jethro in every inch of your body; his taste, his smell, the way his fingers gripped into your hip like he was afraid you might disappear if he let go.
The seconds felt like hours before you separated your lips, both of you desperate for oxygen. Your chest heaved slightly as he drew small circles onto your lower back absentmindedly; his forehead leaning down to rest on yours.
“Do you bring all the girls down here and make out like teenagers?” You teased, still slightly out of breathe.
He threw his head back in another honey-glazed laugh. It invaded your sense just as his kiss had.
God, you though, I could listen to that forever.
“No,” He huffed, a wide smile still spread across his face, “Only the special ones.”
“Ohh,” You exaggerated, “So I’m special, then?”
He only growled an Mmmhhmm before his lips pressed into yours once more, this time slightly quicker than the time before.
“Hungry?” He asked simply, prying his lips from yours, a slight groan falling from your lips as he pulled away.
“Starving,” You replied without missing a beat.
He raised an eyebrow and leaned slightly further away from you, letting him see your full expression.
“For food, sweetheart,” He jested, a hint of teasing in his voice.
“I know!” You squeaked, swatting his shoulder playfully in protest.
He chuckled that charming laugh and nodded his head towards the stairs.
“Well, come on then,” He spoke after pressing a quick peck to your lips.
You followed Jethro upstairs where you enjoyed a delicious homemade dinner and spend the rest of the evening basking in each other’s company.
You sighed as you reached the top of the stairs, just outside your office. Since you rarely locked the door, you turned the handle and swung it open. You were surprised to see the light already switched on. A pit formed in your stomach as your eyes scanned the room before—
“Jesus, Abby!” You found her sitting at your desk chair, literally shaking in anticipation, “You almost gave me a heart attack!”
“Sorry, I’m sorry,” She quickly approached you, taking your bag out of your hand and setting it down in the desk, “Sooo? I’m dying to know! Tell me everything!”
“Ab,” You smiled at her an tilted your head slightly in a playful manner, “A girl should never kiss and tell.”
Abby squealed in excitement and pulled you into a hug, clearly understanding that it went well enough for you to kiss him.
“Please tell me you’re seeing him again. Please, please, please,” She practically begged with her hand folded in front of her.
“Tomorrow, after work,” You smiled as she squealed and pulled you into another excited hug.
“This is the best day ever!” She declared and sat in the comfy chair across from your desk, determined to get all the details from your life-changing first date with Jethro Gibbs.
Minors DNI
Chapter 1: Uncomfortable
“I can’t believe we’re renovating a room to give to a boar, but here we are.” You shook your head in amusement as Mini grunted from behind shoving you slightly. “Don’t worry girl, I know you are more than just a boar!” You knelt, sharing some nuts with her as a snack.
“Kid just called, he and the guys will come by with the stuff for Mini’s room later.” Shen entered the room to inform you and was followed by her girlfriend Yin. You loved Yin’s style; she had soft purple hair that she wore in two space buns, she usually wore crop tops and mini skirts, usually in pink, and because her eyes were susceptible to light, she had to wear darkened glasses and her glasses looked more like a futuristic visor. Your second roommate, Shen, also wore crop tops but preferred baggy pants; her hair was long black and white, and she had a huge scar on the right side of her face from a robbery; that's how she met Kid and the boys and, of course, Yin.
“Are all of them coming?” You turned around to face them. You shifted nervously as you waited for the answer. The girls looked at each other and sighed.
“Well yeah. You have to get over your thing with Killer. He isn’t a scary guy, give him a chance.” Yin shrugged. Shen embraced her from behind and hummed in agreement.
“It’s not easy to trust someone who never shows his face.” You frowned.
“Don't run away this time though, like a scared kitten.” Shen flicked your forehead. “Anyway, we really should finish up here ladies!” Everyone got back to work, cleaning out the room and finishing up the walls, even Mini helped. The left wall was quickly covered in black except for the middle where a pattern started to take shape. Mini now had her own Pirate flag on the wall because, in another world, she would be a pirate; she huffed proudly through her snout.
You were about to clean out some more when you got a text from work. “Sorry, I gotta go to work and will return in 4ish hours.” You excused yourself, quickly showered, and got ready for work.
“Hey Boss, I came as fast as I could.” you were out of breath. A tall man with maroon hair handed you a cold glass of water. “Sorry for calling you in on such short notice, but both my sisters are sick. I can make all the desserts and donuts, but I need you to serve the customers.” He quickly told you on his way back to the kitchen. You immediately brought your stuff to the staff room and went behind the counter.
“The shop has been open for 2 hours. Have you been trying to do this by yourself?” You quizzed him while filling up the contents on the counter.
“I didn’t wanna call you in on your day off, but it was too much.” He sighed from behind the open kitchen window.
“Ugh Katakuri, you know I don't mind.” You answered with a laugh. Most of the working hours were uneventful, except for the last hour. Customers had been swarming the place and were standing in a queue. You always tried to look at the customers when they placed their orders. If nothing else, it's rude if you don't, but you were so swarmed with orders that you barely had time to breathe. “Hi. Welcome to Katakuri’s delicacies. What can I get you?” You asked the next in line, you didn't look up.
“Uh. Hi. 2 creme brulee, 2 chocolate pudding, 3 Vanilla pudding, and 7 Donuts of your choice. Also, I’m here to pick you up.” A deep baritone voice said nervously because he knew from the start this was the worst idea Kid and Yin had ever had. The moment you heard his voice, you froze. Did he say picking me up? Surely not?! Your thoughts were racing, but you still kept working. You didn’t even pay attention to what donut tastes you put in the bag.
T-That's 28 Dollars please.” You tried to speak confidently, but your voice betrayed you; it was barely above a whisper. Lucky for you, Killer had a superb hearing. You just couldn’t bring yourself to look at him. It was hard to focus on the last part of your shift, knowing Killer was waiting for you.
“It’s ok, you can go home if you have someone waiting for you. I can handle the rest.” Katakuri smiled at you. He caught a little off guard because you didn’t want to leave yet. You knew why your boss did that, he wanted you to find a good man, he was a bit old-fashioned.
“Thanks, Boss. I know you are just trying to play cupid though.” You smiled when his cheeks dusted with soft pink. “Big old softie you.” You huffed a laugh. Katakuri is by far the most caring boss you ever had. You went to the Staff room and got your backpack. “I’m going now. Bye.” You waved. As you left the dessert shop you saw him leaning against his Harley Davidson. The lower part of his face was covered by a medical facemask, and the upper part was covered by long, unruly bangs. Even Though his eyes were covered you could still feel his icy blue orbs piercing you as he watched you walking over to him.
“Ready to go?” He peered at you as you came close and shyly nodded in reply. He handed you a helm and paused for a second. “Have you eaten anything? Do you want us to stop anywhere? We already ate.” Both your hands touched as he asked the question. None of you realized it at first, but after a short moment of awkward silence, you abruptly pulled your hand away.
“S-sorry.” You rubbed the back of your neck. You wanted to just disappear, this was the worst. Killer just sighed he knew this was a bad idea. “I-i will just eat some instant noodles.” You quietly said and put the helm on.
“Better hold on tight!” He said in a commanding tone as straddled his Harley. You hesitated but wrapped your arms around his waist. The ride took about 15 minutes; during this, you unconsciously nuzzled closer to him. The way his muscles felt under your touch. The truth was you were attracted to Killer, but your trust issues kept you away. As he stopped in front of your house he looked at you for a second. “Tell the others I forgot something at the restaurant and will be back in 10 minutes.” He didn't wait for a response and you went inside.
“Hey, guys. Killer will be here shortly. He forgot something at the restaurant.” You took the donuts and desserts out of your backpack and placed them on the table in the middle of the room. You went upstairs to put your bag away, took a quick shower, and changed into comfy clothes.
As you went downstairs you felt your heart racing because you figured Killer would be back by now. To your surprise, though, he wasn't, which made you relax; you dropped yourself into your favorite seat: Heat's lap. The two of you had been inseparable since you first met when Yin and Shen moved in. “Get a room you two.” Kid teased.
“You know it's not like this Kid.” Heat protested with a flushed face. Heat was special to you but neither of you had romantic feelings for each other. Kid was about to tease you both some more when he saw the lights in the driveway. You and Heat sat on the floor with your backs to the door and window so you didn't know.
“So, Mouse, tell me, why are you so scared of Killer?” He sneered down at you, knowing full well that Killer heard that question as he quietly entered the room behind you.
You took a deep breath knowing full well everyone wanted to learn the answer. “I'm not scared of Killer, I never have been. I'm quite attracted to him, but his mask just makes me uncomfortable. When I was about 5 years old a masked man tried to kidnap me. He first chased me down an abandoned street next to train tracks, and he took his time because I had such small legs. When I had nowhere left to go he wanted to pick me up, but then my grandfather showed up. So no, I don't feel comfortable around him. “ You finally said it and it was quiet, when suddenly someone that wasn't Heat cleared his throat behind you and handed you a warm glass box.
“I thought maybe you wanted to eat some proper pasta so I told Thatch to prepare everything for carbonara,” Killer said quietly. You took the food and didn't know what to do; he heard everything you just said while he went out of his way to make your favorite dish.
You got up without a word, went to the kitchen door, and said a quick “Thanks” to Killer before you left the room.
You sat alone in your room with your delicious pasta. Heat suddenly entered your room without knocking. “If you were trying to see my tits, you are too late buddy.” You curled up another fork full of spaghetti while Heat took his place behind you.
“And here I tried to be so sneaky.” He answered playfully. “Are you ok? You seem down.” He looked at you with worry.
You turned to face him and twirled in your pasta. “Not really down. I just feel like an absolute ass.” You stated. “Is Killer ok?”
“Hmmm. I think he was more taken aback by the fact that you are attracted to him.” Heat chuckled when he saw you trying to hide your face between your knees. You got up after you finished your pasta and placed the empty glass form on your desk.
As you went back to your bed you saw Heat’s eyes devouring you. He almost looked like a predator hunting its prey. The mattress shifted as you crawled toward him. “By the way you look at me, I’m guessing I don't need the strap on today?” You yanked his hair harshly making him wince, then you licked his cheek before finally your lips found his. He made quick work of your pajamas as well as his clothes. “Someone is in a hurry.” You giggled as he pushed you down on the mattress. His hot lips were traveling over your breasts, his tongue darted in on one of your nipples and circled it before he sucked on it and gently bit it then slowly, as he repeated the pattern on the other breast you moaned and needily grinding your pussy against his hard cock. He continued kissing his way downward to where you desired him the most. At first, he placed soft butterfly kisses on your thighs, as well as leaving little bite marks, then his fingers held open your pussy lips for him as took a long lick up to your clit, finding you were already wet. He sucked on clit and pushed one finger in as there was not much resistance he quickly added a second one, curled them up and he quickly pumped them in and out always hitting that sweet spot deep inside. At the same time, he sucked and licked at your clit and it didn't take long for you to reach your climax.
“Looks like I’m not the only one in a hurry.” Heat peered at you and then smacked your pussy. You arched your back as your body shook from another wave of pleasure while your hands took a tight hold on your sheets. “I know you are just hungry for cock you little cock whore.” Heat tried his best with the degradation, both of you were bottoms, so this part was never easy for either of you.
“Unnnng Heat just fuck me already.” You pleaded.
“Get on your knees!” Heat commanded and you obeyed. Heat grabbed you roughly by your hips and started thrusting into you. Loud erotic squelching noises could be heard as your skins slapped together. You came pretty quick but kept going harder. “Be a good girl and give me one more.” He pushed your head down on the mattress and the other found its way to your overstimulated clit. As you felt him twitch inside you it pushed you over the edge. “H-Heeaat.” He released inside you at the same time, thrusting one last time for good measure, and collapsed on top of you. He got up and came back with a damp washing cloth to clean you. “You alright?” He asked worried he went overboard.
“You are so adorable, I'm not made out of glass you know.” You giggled, pulling him in for cuddles. “So tell me how is your app coming along? Can I sign up yet?” Your eyes sparkled at him. The lights in your room were quite low but he could tell.
“Am I not enough for you?” Heat pouted and pinched your cheeks playfully. “It’s currently in Beta testing select few have access to it, but I would prefer if you would wait until it's officially out, I just don't want you to get hurt. You looked at him with your best puppy eyes.
“Heat baby. Please?” You kissed his cheek. A defeated sigh could be heard from the kind and softhearted man as you handed him your phone. He installed it and handed it back to you.
“The app is called Hidden Smile so make sure you don't delete it by accident. There are rules you should follow as well. No pictures or videos that show your face, it’s up to each chat participant when to suggest a meeting, when that happens it will send each of you to Wires dungeon as there are cameras in there. Even if you don’t meet up for sex I still suggest this option. If anyone suggests a different address, we can't protect you and you will do so at your own risk. Understood?” He looked at her seriously, he was not happy about this.
“Yes ok. I promise I will be careful!” You took his hand and then laid back on his chest. You quickly filled out your profile and uploaded a picture that wasn't too old, before you put your phone away for the night and fell asleep in Heat's arms.
As you woke up the next morning Heat was already gone, today you could finally relax so the first thing you did was check your phone and see the notification. Spaghetti Massacre has sent you a message.
Fated Mates 3
Ao’nung x Fem! Human Reader
Warnings ⚠️ : No full on sex in this chapter (just a sliver of a flashback for you thirsty ahh ppl), very angsty chapter, long asf. Birth scenes kinda explicit stuff.
As always, English is stricken through.
I do wanna let y’all know idk what the family name for Ao’nung and Tsireya are so I had to make one up.
For Neytiri its the Neytiri Te Tskaha Moat’ite; for her children it’s Lo’ak Te Suli Tsyeyk’itan.
So for Ao’nung it’ll be Ao’nung Te Tswa’ìn Tonowar’itan. “Swahh-een”. I also decided to drop the I from Tonowari’s name since the word for ‘son’ starts with an i and if that shit happens in spanish we change the whole word so I’m trynna make it an easy read.
So it’s just “Tonowar’itan” (toh-no-war’ itan)
I’d been at a loss for words as I stood in the water with a heavy feeling in my chest as I’d clearly made Ao’nung upset, but what pissed me off was how he was talking to me like I was a child who didn’t know anything. We’d been paired up together by his father so he could teach me how to fish, but I’d apparently been casting the net too early, alarming the fish and making them swim away. We’d have to stand still for a while before they felt safe enough to return and we’d start the process all over again.
“How is it my fault!” I yelled angrily, scaring away more of the fish that had felt it safe to swim back. I’d let him finish talking before I began because I knew it would give him another reason to be upset with me.
“I’d already told you to back off on casting the net, but you turn around and do it either way!” He yells back, his frustration is clear as the skin of his brows are furrowed as he yells at me.
“Well maybe you suck at teaching!” I returned his sass back to him, feeling it was unfair how he yelled at me. He knew I was strongest with weaving, singing, and dancing, I was starting to learn a little healing with Tsireya, but physical labor wasn’t for me.
“I don’t, you just suck at listening. And you’re too loud! Those feet of yours have never learned to be quiet, you keep splashing around and scaring these fish back to the other clans!”
“The loudest and most obnoxious thing right now is your voice!” I’d stated with a huff as I turned to pull my body up on the walkway to get away from this conversation, already turned around before hearing him speak again.
“And you think running away is going to help you learn?” He asks angrily while crossing his arms across his chest.
“No,” My voice trembled and I hated myself for it but I turned to face him with tears slipping out of my eyes after being humiliated by his words. “But at least I won’t be yelled at for not understanding.” I admitted and through the cloudiness of my tears could see his face shift, seeing Tonowari coming up behind him.
“Yawne-“ He starts but I shake my head and walk off, not bothering to listen to any explanation he had begun rehearsing in his head.
I’d managed to make my way toward my family’s marui and step inside, allowing myself to be welcomed into a hug by my adoptive mother as I cried in her arms, Jake coming next to us as he placed a hand on the small of my back, poor Tuk was sick today and was sleeping at this moment.
“It’s okay, kid, we’ve got you.” Jake reassures me as Neytiri pets my hair gently. If I couldn’t tell them about Ao’nung I don’t think I could ever tell them why I had been crying so I waited for my tears to stop coming and I’d calmed down a bit.
“Whats going on?” He asks and I take in a big breath.
“If I tell you, do you promise you won’t hate me again?” I asked not looking at any one of them specifically but I’m sure by the way Neytiri had stopped petting my hair that she knew I was talking to her.
“What is troubling you?” She asks as she starts petting my hair again.
“I feel guilty for keeping this from you, but I have to tell you whats been going on.” I admit and Jake lightly rubs the small of my back to urge me to continue.
So I tell them from the beginning about a month and a half ago when I’d been swept away from the current and how Ao’nung saved me but wasn’t aware of the sex pollen in the cave. I’d told them about our attempts to hide our relationship from the group and how Tsireya had noticed, becoming upset that her brother hadn’t confided in her, and how we finally introduced myself as his girlfriend. Then how Spider had become nosey and Ao’nung telling me we’d have to tell our friend group. How the two of us had this petty fight over fishing and how inadequate I felt with learning this new skill. Ending with the inner turmoil I’d felt myself fighting because I couldn’t tell them when in reality I just didn’t want Ronal to find out because I didn’t want a repeat with what happened with Neytiri when she found out.
“You think we haven’t noticed?” Jake asks with a small scoff.
“Y/n, you smell of him quite often.” Neytiri comments while continuing to caress my hair but I jump and look at them, the two were smiling gently.
“You- you aren’t mad at me?” I asked in a small voice, feeling like I deserved to be called out for moving on too quick, or for moving on at all? Mo’at has remained single this entire time and although I’m certain they don’t allow themselves to be mated to another and mourn their entire lives, she had been mated, Neteyam and I had not.
“Why would we be mad at you?” Jake asks but I’m focused on the beautiful omaticaya woman before me, wondering if she’d start yelling at some point, or capture her slip from the calmness she was portraying.
“Because- Neteyam,” I stated as if it were obvious and Neytiri’s face softened.
“Y/n, what I had done before was-“ She pauses as she speaks and looks like she’s trying to find the right words to say.
“I was wrong for what I had said and ma’itan had shown me that in the way he loved you, I have never truly apologized to you but I hope you can forgive me for how I had acted after finding out. I prided myself in having a son who would take over once Jake and I were no longer alive, wanting him to take over with a tsahik of his own and blinded myself in the perfect fantasy I built in my head, forgetting that Neteyam was his own person and had his own feelings.” She stated while looking back up at me, hand outstretched to place my cheek in as she continues holding eye contact.
“I am very well aware of how much you loved Neteyam, you would often look for him and the way it seemed that all of the weight left your shoulders when you found him was proof enough for me. The way you comforted him whenever he’d had an uneventful day or an unsuccessful hunt were the many ways that proved me wrong.” She tucks a piece of my hair that had suddenly fallen loose right behind my ear.
“You, too, are your own person with your own feelings. You are allowed to move on from this and feel love for another. Your life is not as long as ours is, therefore the part where you move on to enjoy life has to be celebrated as well. And I want you to know you have our full support.”
“Neytiri-“ My tears were blinding my vision and I’d started crying for the second time today as she embraces me with her arms, and I could feel warmth spreading all over.
“We want you to be happy, kid, no matter who thats with.” Jake stated as I feel him joining in on the hug and I let out some light hearted laughter at his words.
“When Ronal finds out- and she will eventually- you shouldn’t let her words get to you. She might have choice words to say as this is something new for her, but Ao’nung said he doesn’t care what his mother says, and thats exactly what Neteyam said to me. He will stick by your side and this little argument between the two of you is not the end and I doubt his mothers words will end your relationship, okay?” He reassures me and I nod into his shoulder.
“Atta girl,” He says happily and we all disband from our hug.
“Now if you could help us by watching Tuk while we go do- something, you would be helping us tremendously!” Jake places an enthusiastic smile and two thumbs up as he states that and I could only roll my eyes in fake disgust.
“For being my adoptive parents you guys are gross,” I joke but shoo them away with my hand.
“Go have your adult fun times but please do not make another child!” I whisper-yelled at them and can hear Jake’s chuckle before it stops abruptly after Neytiri had hit the back of his head.
“Don’t rush home either, Tuktuk usually doesn’t need much when she’s sick and likes to rest. I’ll just weave to keep myself busy, I’ll get her some fruit in a bit so she has something in her stomach.” I reassure the two as they thank me before leaving. I once again roll my eyes after they’d left and I could hear their little laughs, finding myself laughing lightly in the marui to myself.
“Well sleeping beauty,” I looked over at Tuk’s form as she slept peacefully. “It's just you and I.” I smile softly, walking over toward where Neytiri kept her yarn and began weaving a blanket.
_________
“That was quite the screaming match.”
I hadn’t bothered reacting to my father’s voice as he came up behind me, but turned to look at him with an unamused face, not really caring how rude it seemed to stare at him in that way.
“I’m sorry for causing a scene.” I apologized to him out of habit.
“No, ma’itan, I’m not the person you owe an apology to. You owe it to your mate.” He stated simply and I nod along to what he had said.
“I just want her to be-“ I stopped myself from continuing as my eyes move to face him, my face unmoved, I’d absentmindedly agreed to what he had said and started an explanation like nothing. I could tell he was hiding a smile but I wanted to scream- the biggest secret I had been hiding and he sniffed it out after an argument? How was I going to continue hiding this now.
“How?” I asked him, I knew he would understand why I had asked that, and awaited his answer.
“You do not think I know you?” He asks with a smirk on his lips. “You disappear from one task and not long after she is headed off in the same direction. I believed my mind was playing tricks on me until I caught your smell lingering with hers. No matter how much you two act like you cannot stand the other, you’re letting the act slip the longer you spend time together.” He says as I wince a bit at having been discovered.
“Is it that obvious?” I asked him while looking away in embarrassment, feeling his hand snake around my shoulders giving me a comforting squeeze.
“No, to everyone else you guys argue a lot, to the trained eye, it’s starting to become obvious. How did this start?” He asks and I can feel a blush building on my face, was this something I really wanted him to know?
“If you want my honesty, I’ll need you to pretend you aren’t ma’sempul for the moment.” I stated and he nods, taking his hand from my shoulder and placing it in his other hand.
“It started when she was swept by the current underwater.” I admit to him.
“That far back?” He asks in shock, it had been quite a while looking back at it but it also felt like this had just happened. I only look at him with an annoyed expression after he’d cut me off and he raises his hands in defense.
“Well two weeks before that I visited Neteyam in the spirit tree,” I rubbed the back of my neck as I tell him. “-without a diving partner, and he told me that he had chosen her as my mate because Eywa said I had a temper-“
And with that he chuckles as if he had agreed with that statement, I turn to glare at him once again and he holds his hands up in defense once more. Letting a small apology out as he looks back down to the water and urging me to continue.
“I took her to my thinking cave, the one with the white lilies, I swear I didn’t know the flowers were in bloom, she’d ended up getting some of the pollen on her hand and she wiped it on her leg, but later used that same hand to rub her face. I had no idea it affected tawtute the same way it does for us, but one thing lead to another and we mated without tsaheylu.”
“According to JakeSully, tawtute mating doesn’t need tsaheylu, according to her and her people, you have already bonded with her.” He stated wisely and I raise a brow at his words.
“Does he share with you from when he was tawtute?” I asked out of curiosity and he grunts, confirming what I asked.
“Some times I ask him as I get curious about his life before he became a Na’Vi. Especially after catching her smell on you the day after the union ceremony.”
“It must have been the blanket I’d given her to use to warm up in the cool night air, she had mentioned that tawtute are sensitive to temperatures and I wanted her to be comfortable for when she was introduced to Tsireya as mine.”
“You should apologize to her with a kind gesture, a gift.” He says and it catches me off guard.
“What kind of gift? I do not know what she prefers jewelry wise and am only able to make armbands, I doubt she’d need a spear-“ I started rambling off as he chuckles.
“Whatever you decide to make, use it to apologize to her, okay? I’ll tell the others you weren’t feeling well since you’ll be a little too busy to go on this hunt with us.” He cuts me off with a smile and I can only nod at his answer.
“I want you to know something, Ao, you will have many fights like these. Some will be easier to apologize than others. Some of them you will be wrong and some of them you will be correct- but apologize either way, even if you are correct. I can guarantee her own apology will follow after even if she was right.”
“Is that what you do when you and sa’nok argue?” I raised a brow and smile widely, not needing to hear his response.
“We are still together after many rotations, are we not?” He asks smugly and I let out a laugh.
“With that being said, women also like it when other people tell their mate they were in the wrong. In this case you wanted to teach her to fish, but you let your temper get in the way. You were in the wrong, itan, you must go make this right.”
“I see,” I nodded at him just as his right-hand-man shows up to ask about the hunting they’re supposed to be starting. My father tells him to gather anybody willing to participate and turns to me once he leaves.
“Make her an armband, she doesn’t wear much jewelry and I don’t think she’s the kind of girl to wear much. I will see you when I get home, okay?” He asks and I nod, turning to head over to our Marui to fix up a quick armband.
I’d managed to find the right materials but struggled to find the correct colored rocks and shells. There had only been one other time that I had asked her what her favorite color was and the answer had honestly shocked me. But I knew I had to incorporate it in the armband I was making and felt giddy once I stumbled upon the colors I needed.
~~~~~
“So what’s your favorite color?” I asked her as I slowly thrust into her, watching her greedy cunt swallowing me whole, whimpering at the sight and feeling.
“Is th-this really the time?” She struggles to think of her words stuttering badly.
“Yes yawne, I’ll let you come if you answer.” I tried keeping my composure but failing to do so with how well she took me, I was on the edge myself.
“It’s you,” she responds and meets my thrust halfway with the loudest moan ever, her eyes shutting at the pleasure.
“What?” I mutter and continue focusing on her face.
“You’re my favorite color-“ She sucks in a big breath. “Can I come now?” She asks as she holds her own hips back.
“Yes tìyawn, come-“
~~~~~
I’d decided on taking my time making my way toward her family’s marui so I could rehearse my apology. I didn’t want to leave anything out of it and wanted to make sure she still felt loved all around. I see half the curtain hanging over the entryway, most of the marui was darker and cooled down, while the other half was folded open to allow air flow into the room and prevent it from getting stuffy.
I can see Y/n sitting behind little Tuk as she took the poor girls braids out one by one. The poor forest girl looked like she had been tired and barely had any energy. She had been taking slow bites of fruit as Y/n finished off the last couple of braids.
“Hello,” Tuk stated with minimal effort and energy, she’d definitely just woken up from a nap, but her voice was raspier. Y/n’s head moves to the doorway and she thins her lips.
“Tuk Tuk, I’m going to step out for a second but I’ll be right there, call me if you need anything okay?” She reassures the younger Na’Vi and it makes my heart swell with pride at how sweet she is to the children, she steps closer toward the entrance and I move back to allow her the space she needs.
“Have you come to finish yelling at me for my fishing?” She asks in a calmer tone than the one she had earlier but she has crossed her arms over her chest and her eyes weren’t even meeting mine. I felt saddened by that.
“No Yawne, I came to apologize,” I spoke softly and although I’m nervous of her reaction I pull the armband out to show her. “I made you something,” I stated with a bit of a waver, she turns her face to look at what I had in my hand, her eyebrows had previously been furrowed in anger but the pop up after seeing the gift, her eyes finally sliding up to meet mine.
“Y-you made that f-for me?” She asks a voice barely above a whisper and she looks back down at it as she smiles. “It’s my favorite shade of you,”
“Would you like to wear it?” I asked her and she looks back up to meet my eyes, her bottom lip tugged between her teeth as she nods, giving me her hand so I can slide it on.
“This is my way of saying I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier. I might not be a great teacher like I believed I was and I hate that I made you upset, I don’t like it when I’m the reason you cry, Tìyawn.” I’d held on to her one hand with both of mine as I apologized, feeling comfort in touching her in any way possible, taking note of how perfect the armband had fit her.
“It doesn’t excuse my own behavior but I didn’t like being yelled at as if I were a child, I already know I don’t know how to fish, or cast the stupid net, but I expected you to communicate with me on how to do it correctly. But I am sorry for raising my voice at you.” She stated tenderly and I couldn’t help but cup her cheek with my hand.
“You are not in the wrong here, it was me, and I hope you can accept my apology, little one.”
“Of course I do, Ao’nung, nga yawne lu oer.” She stated all of a sudden and I could only squat on my toes just to crash my lips onto hers right after she said that.
“Nga yawne lu oer,” I replied back toward her.
__________
“I now see why you continue running off, it’s a shame this is where you hide.”
We both turned our heads in unison toward the person who had spoken, standing before us and I knew we’d been caught. This was the person I had least expected to catch us, the very same person I’d been avoiding and desperately praying to Eywa so she wouldn’t catch us. A few feet in front of us stood his mother, who happened to be glaring directly at me, not once sparing a glance toward Ao’nung, and I would be lying if I hadn’t just felt my knee’s buckle.
“Unbelievable.” The disgust is very evident, dripping entirely within that word.
Instinctively I push against Ao’nungs chest to put as much distance between us as possible, trying to hide whatever embrace we’d had, although I knew she had seen it already. I felt empty right after feeling his warmth leaving me and I had to look down to stop myself from freaking out.
“I was worried about you after seeing you run into our marui but wanted to give you space to collect your thoughts. And when I had decided you might have had enough time sulking on your own, I head to our marui, only to see you making your way here.” She stated as the tone of disappointment stays in her voice.
“You followed me?” Ao’nung asks even though she had just stated that.
“I wanted to make sure you weren’t going to do anything stupid, only to find myself proven wrong.” She yells angrily and I flinch at the pitch she uses.
“Ronal, please-“ I begin pleading but am unsure where my words were going, but am also somewhat thankful for the hiss that cuts me off.
“Silence.” She continues glaring at me and my immediate response is to look down, maybe if I don’t look into her eyes, I won’t feel threatened, but that theory is tossed out the window.
“Have you mated with this vrrtep?” She pointed at me, a disgusted look settling on her features as I peek up and see her looking at her son, waiting for his answer.
“What if I did?” He asked too nonchalant for my liking. His body hadn’t been trying to face away from hers like mine was. I shouldn’t have been surprised since he has dealt with her more than I have, but she was a scary woman.
“She is a disgrace to every suitor you’ve had. She doesn’t stand near any of them. Why would you want someone you cannot bond with, ma’itan?” She asks with genuine concern for him.
“You are right, she doesn’t stand near them,” He stated and I felt my blood run cold. I looked up at him with pure sadness, had he resented me this entire time?
“She’s more than they will ever be. She has single handedly tamed my anger with her kindness. She has taught me how to be careful with someone else and being aware of my words and how much they could hurt another person. She has a strong heart, she is worth it to me.”
“You do not realize the implications of these words ma’itan. If you decide to mate with her before Eywa you’ll be stripped of your status.”
“No!” I yelled immediately as my eyes widened. Ronal smirked at my outburst and laughed a bit.
“You see, she only wants you for your status.” She states as if it was the clearest thing.
“I can’t allow that. It’s all you’ve wanted since you were young, I can’t let you lose your status over this-“ I stated as if I was pleading him, but this is exactly what I needed to do.
“You are confused, ma’itan, you do not even know what you mean to that vrrtep!” She exclaims and I feel as if it was another blow to the chest. This was exactly everything I wanted to avoid.
“Sa’nok-“ He begins before she starts once more.
“Do you not see how this vrrtep has corrupted you? I told your father to not allow them in even if they were trusted by JakeSully, I knew they would eventually mess something up, it was a matter of how. Come to me, ma’itan, we need to cleanse you.”
“Choose someone else.” I stated in a clear and steady voice. Although my heart felt itself break. I could only feel Ao’nung grasp my shoulders gently.
“No.”
“Please, let me go, choose another. You’ll still have the life you wanted-“ I felt the tears blur my vision so I turned around to stop looking at him.
“Not if I don’t have you in it.”
“I’m not worth it, choose someone else-“
“I’m not leaving you, little one, I’ve said that multiple times.” He tries reassuring me as my tears slide down my cheeks, how was I going to stop them.
“So you can be wise,” Ronal hums at my words as I was trying to get him to leave me.
“No, I only want you, I only see you, I only love you.” He stated as he forcefully turns me around. Tears continuously sliding down my face.
“I can’t bond with you-“
“I don’t care about that, little one, we bond in different ways.” He holds my face with one hand gently.
“I’ll die too fast anyway, we can’t have kids. She’s right, this is only a fantasy that’ll never work. I’ve done this once before and didn’t learn the first time.” These reasons were resurfacing from Neytiri’s previous conversation within me when she’d found out those years ago, reasons to why I was not fit for her son, reasons I am not fit to be with Ao’nung.
“Neteyam told me different, ma’tìyawn, he told me he Eywa needed his help in choosing a mate for me and he chose you as my mate, Eywa agrees with his decision. He told me we can have children of our own and told me your age will slow down with mine after completing our mating.” He explains in a gentle manner.
But the way he’d stated that with ease, he had never told me about that previous to today, and I could feel my head dizzying at his words, when the hell had he been told about this?
“When, when did he tell you?” I asked because I just had to know. He remains silence but face fallen into a wince as if he’d meant to either keep that a secret or expect his words to change my opinion without problem.
“When the fuck did he tell you this?” I asked in a harsher tone after his silence.
“Two weeks before we went to the spirit tree, but I-“
“That was two months ago and you’re only telling me this now?” I pulled myself away by pushing on his chest to let go of me, I knew there was no way I’d hurt him but with the way he backed up as if I had worried me a bit.
“Yawne I-“
“You need to leave.” I stated as I squeezed my eyes shut tightly.
“What?” He asks in disbelief upon hearing my request.
“Leave, go!” I yelled at him and he seems shocked. He looked like he was about to refuse leaving, he held onto hope more than I could, but before voicing his opinion the sound of water suddenly splashing had caught our attention. I turned back to Ronal to see her staring at the space between her feet, a protective hand placed around her swollen abdomen.
“Great mother, why now?” Ronal groans as she protectively places a hand on her swollen belly. Typically when a NaVi’s water breaks you had about thirty minutes or less for when the child arrived, so even if their gestation lasted about a year, their births happened incredibly fast. But with her being Tsahik and going through her labor meant she’d either need the help of the retired Tsahik- who was her deceased mother in law- or the Tsakarem, her daughter.
I glanced over at Ao’nung who was standing with his eyes widened. I could only figure he had never seen his mother in this position and if he had, he was a toddler when Tsireya was born so he didn’t have any experience when it came to these things.
“Agh!” Ronal screams as she holds onto her abdomen.
“Get her into the water-“ I run into the Marui and see Tuk is still awake, half finished with her fruit, I’m sure she’s heard everything that had happened but her face seems unfazed.
“TukTuk, please tell me you’re well enough to go for a swim?” I asked in the most hopeful tone possible and she nods, getting up from her mat, following behind me as I grab a couple things from the marui. I step back out with Tuk behind me and see Ao’nung full on carrying his mother with a worried look in his face.
__________
“Come on Um’ma, let’s get you into the nice cool water, I think you’ll feel better there,” I try reassuring her as I continue to hold her, her weight becoming less as she floats in the water, her groans coming out in short spurts, she’s gritting her teeth and her eyes are looking around.
“What now, Y/n?” I ask as she has Tuk hold the things she was carrying, while she hops down from the walkway onto the stairs and into the water, Tuk carefully handing Y/n everything.
“Let her stand in the water, Tsireya said it helps with tearing, she’ll be on her feet, make sure her lower back is covered.” She instructs and I follow along as I do what she says, my mother sighing in relief, one of her hands grasping mine suddenly and refusing to let go.
“And now?” I ask as she fumbles with her equipment, I can see various towels, a blanket, the knife Neteyam made for her, and a clamp. I’m not entirely sure what these were for but she finally comes over toward me, stepping directly in front of my mother, a hiss ripping through her as soon as she see’s Y/n.
“Hiss all you want but we don’t have much time before your child gets here and Tuk is too sick to get help.” Y/n stated and as I look on over toward where Tuk was, the poor girl had already passed out on the walkway snoozing along and getting her rest.
“If you want I can get another woman from the clan whose given birth before but I doubt they’ll get here by the time your baby is born.” Y/n stated firmly upon looking at my mother before taking a deep breath and going under the water, I could tell she started untying my mothers skirt and I blushed while looking away.
“I dislike how helpful she is, even after I insulted her-“ She manages to grumble between her groans and grunts.
“She is always like this, Um’ma, I love her.” I stated and my mother hisses again. Y/n resurfaces and steps around behind me.
“You’ll need to push her lower back, here, when she starts pushing, it helps relieve pain, or something like that. She’ll squeeze your hand and it’ll hurt you, but remember she’s in more pain than you will be.” She pointed toward her lower back and I could see my mothers tail fidgeting in a similar pattern from when we all hurt ourselves unexpectedly.
“Ronal-“ She steps back around as my mother is hunched over. Her anger from beforehand is gone as she continues breathing.
“You’ll need to spread your legs further,”
“I know how to give birth, child, this is my third- AGH!” She yells gutturally after her half insult, but follows Y/n’s order and spreads her legs further.
“Push when you feel the need to,” She tells my mother just as she’s moaning or groaning, maybe grunting, all at the same time, before looking back at me. “Every time you hear her make that sound, press where I showed.”
“Push Ronal,” She takes a deep breath before going back under and checking for how my mother is doing.
“Please respect her, she’s doing better than I am over here.” I utter just as she starts making that sound again and I push on her back, I could hear the sound lessen as if I was helping relieve pain. She takes a quick break to breathe before pushing again.
“Something feels wrong, it hurts more-“ She gasps.
“Don’t quit, Um’ma, keep pushing.” I encourage her as she starts yelling painfully while pushing.
“What do you see in her,” She catches her breath again as she pushes.
“The same things dad saw in you, she’s kind, caring, compassionate, adorable, and willing to put up with me.” I answered as she begins pushing and yelling again, I pushed on her back once more.
“Stop pushing!” Y/n resurfaces suddenly and my mother looks bewildered.
“Why on Eywa’s life would I do that!” My mother hisses.
“He’s coming out feet first, his cord isn’t coming out like it should and I’m scared its wrapped around his neck.” She stated.
“He?” My mother isn’t asking, more as if she were in shock.
“I’m having another itan.” She stated wobbly as her tears cascaded down her face.
“The next contractions will hurt like hell but I need you to try and not push during them, if you do, the constriction will cut off blood flow to the-“
“Ma’tìyawn, you’re rambling in English,” I stated as she looks up immediately with a blush.
“Try not to push when you feel the need to, I know it’ll be hard-“
“The pain is too great for me, I do not want to lose ma’itan,” Her tears fall down more rapidly as she weeps, her hold on my hand getting harder.
“Don’t say that. You are Tsahik of the metkayina, you fought tawtute mounted on a tsurak while heavily pregnant, you have birth twice before, how is this one any different!” Y/n states and I can see a passion in her eyes as she says these things.
“You are admired by many in the clan and you have been standing before other mighty warriors who have given birth telling them that all would be well. Don’t give me that shit, Ronal, you can fucking do this.”
My mother nods as another contraction hits her, she trembles badly and looks down before her face is picked back up by ma’Y/n with both of her hands.
“Don’t fucking quit on me, Ronal.” She stated as my mother starts yelling through her contraction, I push on her back regardless as it dies down.
“Once the shoulders are out you’ll be done, okay?” Y/n states as she takes another deep breath and sinks down below to check on my baby brother.
“That is why I love her, Um’ma,”
“Maybe I was wrong about her-“ She sucks in a big breath and clenches her teeth. Y/n swims closer to her and my mother yells once more.
Just then a bit of blood fills the water where Y/n and my mothers legs are, her hand has let go of mine as she sighs in relief, Y/n popping up without my brother.
“Where is he?” I asked in shock upon not seeing my brother.
“About to take his first breath.”
First breath, the tradition where, when allowed, the baby is supposed to swim upward after being born to take it’s first breath. The first right of passage coming into the clan.
“The cord was only loosely wrapped around his neck, probably because you held back on your pushes, all I did was unwrap it, clamp it, and cut it.” Y/n stated and seconds later he pops up, the physical sound of him taking his breath bringing us relief in that moment.
I couldn’t help but look at my baby brother in awe at the smallest patches of hair on his head, his little nose, his kuru being naked and small, Y/n is quick to pick him up and turn him to place him on my mothers chest. Taking my hand to place it on my brother’s abdomen as I watched him breathe. My mother started crying out of pure joy upon seeing my brother.
“Let us connect these, huh?” She grasped my mother Kuru gently and connected it with my brothers, creating the first bond any child creates- with their Um’ma. She’d gone at some point to bring the blanket to wrap him around in and I couldn’t help but smile at him.
Spending this time with my mother and brand new sibling was a joyous time, but when I’d turned around to see where Y/n had gone my smile falters as she and little Tuk were nowhere to be found.
_________
That goes without saying that once I’d come back into the marui with Tuk- after helping Ronal give birth- her parents had come back and were wondering where we went. I once again had to fill them in on the situation starting from the moment Ao’nung had come to give me my armband and ending with coming back with a still sick Tuk. They were surprised about Neteyam hand picking Ao’nungs mate and they did have questions to which I did not have the answers to.
After helping the Tsahik giving birth, I’d taken it upon myself to stay out of her and her families sights. I knew the words she had spoken when she had caught myself and her son together were spiteful yet truthful. There was no way that my assistance in her birth would change the way she felt about me. And I would say I’ve been doing well, I’ve avoided them for two and a half weeks by this point, but I did have a little help from the Sully’s. I’d essentially made myself disappear from their lives.
We made sure to always walk in pairs of three whenever we were out. If they happened to catch Lo’ak, Kiri, Spider, Tuk, Neytiri, or Jake the other person with us would tell me to go the opposite direction or hide somewhere to avoid having to make any contact with them.
While I was in the marui, Tsireya had come wanting to talk to me, but due to Lo’ak loudly stating that he wasn’t sure if I was there, gave me the chance to escape by diving into the water and swimming underneath the marui until she had left in disappointment. I was willing to take any measure I could to avoid them, Ronal had made it clear where she stood with me, so I wanted to make it clear to her that I understood her boundary.
“Theres supposedly a banger going on tonight,” Lo’ak stated as we all huddled into a little family meeting.
“What would you like to do, Y/n?” Spider asks as all eyes turned to me.
“You guys make it seem like they’re actively searching for me, the only time anyone came here was Tsireya a while ago. None of them have asked about me so I’ll just stay here.” I stated while weaving a blanket for Tuk, when she was sick she claimed she felt cold and didn't have a comfortable blanket on her.
I told her that if she could find some yarn she felt comfortable with, I’d take it and make a blanket out of it for her. She’d found the right one two hours after I said that and said she spent the entire two hours hugging yarn from the yarn lady, who had been awkwardly staring at Tuk while assisting her- or so thats the story from her ten year old perspective.
“Would you like one of us here with you?” Jake offers and I laugh.
“You guys should go enjoy the party, as long as you have fun thats all that matters.” I admit.
“We could even take shifts, I can stay for the first part and come get one of the kids to cover for an hour at a time-“
“It’s been fifteen days since Tsireya came here, thats half an Earth month, I will be fine, nobody is coming in here.” I reassure him and he only thins his lips.
“Go have fun, just bring me back something sweet, okay?” I asked and they all seemed to agree.
It did take a bit to get them all to leave but they did take their time leaving little by little. It started off with Jake and Neytiri leaving at the start of the little celebration, Kiri had left with Tuk since the younger one had started to get hungry. I had been left with Lo’ak and Spider, the two most stubborn people ever.
It didn’t help that we were mostly sitting in silence so I suggested we played a game. Spider had smiled happily as he remembered Jake had hidden a deck of Uno somewhere around here. Something about him having brought the game over from home in case the kids were bored.
“You definitely have a draw four, Y/n, don’t lie!” Spider yells angrily and I roll my eyes, placing a reverse card to switch the order we were going in already.
“Hell yeah!” Lo’ak exclaims as he places a wild card of his own, switching the color to red.
“No fair, you know I don’t have any red!” Spider states while continuing to draw, having drawn twelve cards before finally placing a red one down. I place my own red reverse down on the deck and try to hide my laugh.
“Uno,” I call out as I held my last card.
“Not funny.” Spider is already pissed and I knew this would get him to leave soon.
“Draw four!” Lo’ak stated after Spider luckily had to draw two cards before getting a red, but I smirk as I pull the draw four my brother said I had and stack it on top of Lo’ak’s.
“Red.” I stated the color and Spider throws his variety of yellow and green cards down angrily.
“You guys always fuckin cheat, I’m out.” He yells as he stands to walk out of the marui while Lo’ak and I laugh.
“Do you think we were mean to him?” I asked as I gather the cards.
“Nah, we’re the dream team, plus the look on his face was worth it.” He smiles widely while handing me his own cards.
“I’m thinking about heading out and meeting up with ‘Reya, you’re sure you’ll be okay?” He asks and doesn’t even bother getting up. Had the circumstances been different he would have started standing up already, not waiting for an answer as he headed out toward his girlfriend.
“I’ll be fine, Lo, honestly wanna get this blanket done so Tuk stops asking me if its done,” I smile as I take the half finished project I had with a grin.
“She has no patience.” He agrees as he stands up.
“I’m sure the others have forgotten but I’ll bring you back something sweet, kay?” He states.
“Thank you, you’re my favorite brother!”
“I always have been,” He chuckles as he slips out of the marui.
It doesn’t take too long before the curtain ruffles again and I’m surprised at how fast anyone had returned but keep my focus on my project.
“Did you forget some-“ My eyes wander up and see the person I’d least expected standing in the marui, before me stood the teal goddess I used to spend a majority if my time with.
“Y/n!” She yells excitedly in a hushed voice and it pained me to see her excited.
“Tsireya-“ I stated in shock, just staring at her, how is it the one night Jake asks me of I’m certain I could handle being alone that Tsireya pop’s back up right when I least expected it, especially after a while of not seeing her.
“Hi sweets,” She says softly while waving at me from the entrance, my blanket project long forgotten, using my term of endearment for her, on me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked in confusion as Lo’ak had just stepped out to meet with her, how long would it take him to notice she wasn’t out there.
“I came to take you to get ready,” She stated as if it were obvious why she was here, but I was still lost.
“Get ready? For what?” I asked her two questions and I notice she’s looking past me with a smile. I turn and don’t notice anything there and look back at her.
“You’re still wearing it.” She stated and I look back down on my arm and the realization hit, I had completely forgotten about the armband being on my arm as it was comfortable, kind of like it was meant to be there.
“Now come on,” She steps closer taking my hand and I couldn’t help but allow myself to be dragged on by her since I’d missed hanging out with her for two and a half weeks, maybe spending some time with her wouldn’t hurt.
She’d brought me to a waterfall I’d yet to see before and made me wash my hair, I was confused at first but thought this was more of a girls-day type thing. As she had waited for it to dry before braiding it intricately, I’d just sat there and waited for her to finish. Just when she had finished, I turned to look at her as she gasps, holding both hands over her mouth in awe.
“What? Do I look bad in braids?” I joke but she shakes her head.
“You look beautiful,” It wasn’t until now that I could feel some of the beaded accessories she’d placed in my hair.
“We need to head back over,” She states and I could only imagine she meant back in the marui which is why I didn’t mind when she grabbed my arm once more.
“Come on-“ She gently tugs as she runs in front of me.
“Where are we going?” I let out a laugh as I’m essentially out of breath from chasing after her.
“You’ll see, come-“ She tugs me again with an excited smile on her features, one that made me forget my surroundings only because I hadn’t been near her in a while, I truly missed spending time with her.
“You need to walk through,” She states as we stand behind some curtains of some sort but I look at her weirdly.
“Is someone killing me if I step through?” I asked, wondering if her mother was on the other side of the curtain.
“Just step through,” She says with a smile and my curiosity peaks finally stepping through the curtains, being placed on a stage in front of the clan, eyes widening.
“Kaltxì-“ I nervously stated, just to see Ronal stepping up, I look down immediately and try backing up through the curtains again, there was no way I am going to stay here.
“Hey-“ I bump into someone and their hands are on my shoulders, I only turn my head upward and see Ao’nung looking down at me, my brows furrow in confusion and before I could say anything Ronal turns to address the clan.
“We’re gathered as a clan today to celebrate the union of my son, and his mate Y/n.”
“What?” I asked in complete shock and disbelief, but my voice only having been a whisper, nobody hearing me as the cheers of the crowd had grown.
She turns to look at her son, arm stretching out overtop of me, essentially being caged in by two Na’vi bodies. Her hand reaches to what I assume is his cheek.
“A mother will always love her son for their entire lives, but your life is only beginning with her, take care of her and love her more than you have ever loved me, ma’itan.” She speaks gently to him and he squeezes my shoulders gently as she looks down at me, I want to look away but she places her hand on my cheek, the sudden act of affection catching me off guard.
“You have shown me that I was wrong about tawtute. You helped me during a great time of need and I can see how you have loved ma’itan. You are strong and capable of many things that I was too blinded by my own prejudice to see. You are a worthy mate for him. Oel ngati kameie, Y/n.” She stated and placed her finger on her forehead, extending it toward me as she said that.
“Now if you are agreeable to your own union, I would like to speak blessings upon the two of you.” She stated as she awaits my answer.
“You said you didn’t want your son with a vrrtep-“
“I know what I have said and I was wrong. I am hoping you can accept my deepest apologies. When I was giving birth, you helped me even after the nasty things I said to you, you were willing to let ma’itan be happy and keep his status by trying to leave him, you were willing to sacrifice your happiness for his.” She stated with tears welling up in her own eyes. “I am not a perfect mother, but I try to be, and seeing how happy he is when he talks about you proves he follows his heart, just as closely as he follows you.”
“You already know how I feel about you, Yawne,” Ao’nung speaks gently, I crane my neck backward just to catch him looking at me with a sweet smile.
“I missed you so much,” I place my hand on top of his, which remained on my shoulder and I give him a light squeeze.
“I missed you too yawntutsyìp,”
“What do you say?” Ronal asks and I give her a small nod.
And she starts letting the many blessings fall from her tongue. Starting with the growth of the clan by the union we were sharing and blessing each of us separately, that Eywa may use us to assist in her workings as well as blessing us with many children- even though I felt that would never happen.
“And before the clan you must speak your vows. As always, the male will speak first.” She nods toward her son as she steps to the side and he steps from behind me, turning to face me- from what I’d seen during the other ceremony’s I follow his steps and face him, to have him squat on his toes so he is eye level with me, our hands holding each other.
“With these words I present my vows to you, Y/n Y/m/n Socorro, as your faithful mate.” He stated the typical introduction before looking right into my eyes with a small smile as he speaks words from his heart, my eyes tearing up as I try holding my big fat cry-baby tears for nothing since they slide down my cheeks.
“With these words I present my vows to you, Ao’nung Te Tswa’ìn Tonowar’itan, as your faithful mate-“ I start my own vows and for the first time I notice the tears collecting in his eyes as I continue.
“Now you may turn, and let Eywa decide your familial fate.” Tsireya speaks loudly and notice the garment placed before us. The biggest shell catching my eye, it was the color of their ocean and I smile.
“Ready?” He asks while squeezing my hand affectionately.
“Get closer to it so we can step on it at the same time,” He gently pushes the small of my back and I feel nervous, looking back at him as he lifts his leg.
“On three,” He reassures me and I nod. I knew it was wishful thinking but I closed my eyes harshly and slam my foot down on the shell as hard as I can, opening them and turning toward him, not even bothering to look at the pieces.
“Pukap!” Tsireya yells as everyone cheers and my shocked face turns to see the shell having broken into six unequal pieces, I look back at my now husband in shock, he’s smiling excitedly.
“Having four children is a big blessing, tsmuke,” Tsireya says as she waits for us to pick our respective pieces.
_________
Having Kiri, Spider, Lo’ak, and even little Tuk on my side on this day has proven effective. They had mentioned how Y/n was wanting to avoid me and I found it devastating at first but completely understood where she was coming from.
I’d planned this entire thing myself but was honestly thankful to Y/n’s tsmuktu for helping me and allowing this entire thing to happen. I was happy to have the love of my life forever now, officially.
Knowing we’d have four children was unexpected but a blessing nonetheless, but could tell that having children was still something Y/n was not expecting. I could tell she was skeptical but I knew it would happen.
She picks up a piece of the shell that I was eyeing myself and felt saddened by it but accepted it, until she turns and hands it to me. I look at her in surprise as she smiles.
“I figured this was the piece you’d like the most,” She stated shyly and I smile, taking it from her grasp.
“Thank you little one, does this mean I get to pick yours?” I asked her and she blushes before looking down and nodding.
Something of this nature had only been done one other time before- I’d heard the stories many times around the fire pit- my own parents union ended like this, but it was not a story Y/n had heard before, which was what warmed my heart the most, looking up at my father I can see him smiling at my mother with adoration.
“This one,” I pick up a piece thats similar to the shape she often shows me with her hands, a heart is what she calls it.
“It’s perfect,” She smiles as she takes it and I couldn’t resist the urge after she’d said that.
“You’re perfect.”
She blushes and looks away before I use my fingers to bring her chin back up to make her look at me, her face looking adorable, it felt warm underneath my fingers.
Before either of us could say anything, many people joined in on the traditional first song sang after the shell being broken, the garment being thrown around us as everyone joined to happily sing. It doesn’t take long for the song to finish and I have another place in mind where we could be.
“Would you do me the honors of following me?” I ask her and she furrows her tiny brows in confusion but takes the hand I had offered her and we start walking toward the beach.
“Where are we going?” She asks once we’re pretty close to stepping into the water.
“The spirit tree.” I admit as I call an Ilu over, stepping into the water, tugging her arm gently to get her closer to me.
“But first,” I settle her onto the Ilu before sliding on after her, placing my arm protectively over her waist. “We need to talk.” I’d sat her backward so her back was toward the Ilu’s head, as she faced me, my arm gently running across her spine to reassure her that it was nothing bad. “We’ll have to go the long way so we can sty above water, okay?” I state again.
“What is there to talk about?” She asks shyly and tucks her own hair behind her ear while looking at the ocean, eyes hesitant to look back on mine.
“A lot of things, Tìyawn,” I stated as the Ilu moves forward.
“Why would you visit Neteyam?” She asks and I’’m glad she does, I’m surprised she’d managed to get the hint.
“I felt guilty for how I’d spent a majority of the time he was here bullying him and your tsmuktu instead of trying to make friends with everyone. And I was lonely really, having two tawtute join the clan when you hate them was hard, he gave me an escape and we talked about anything and everything.” I share with her.
“Why didn’t you tell me about visiting Neteyam?” She asks.
“I didn’t see it as something I needed to share, but I was wrong on that.
“What did he say to you?” She doesn’t have to specify the night she was talking about and I look down with a soft smile.
“He said Eywa came to him to tell him she had trouble choosing a mate for me, and he said the only person he could think of was Y/n,” I tell her, placing my finger gently on the tip of her nose as she smiles at my action. “I look at him confused because that sounds like a word in your vrrtep language, he laughs and tells me thats your name and I am to use it to address you.” I explain and she nods along.
“He says he has chosen you as my mate because of how sassy you are, but that you were very sweet. He said you were captivating in every way possible.” Her eyes are widened in awe as she listens to the story.
“But you know me, I was stubborn, didn’t want to hear it but continued asking questions about how he knew these things and he finally tells me the two of you were courting. I was surprised, because nobody has ever heard of a union between tawtute and Na’Vi, I didn’t want to hear anymore and broke my connection with the spirit tree.”
“Do you regret it?” She asks in a tiny voice but I’m unsure of what she meant.
“If you mean disconnecting my kuru and swimming away from what he said, yes, if you are asking if I regret being with you, never.”
“Do you think you could do me a favor?” She asks nervously chews on her bottom lip.
“For you I’d do anything, all you have to do is ask.”
“Can you connect to the spirit tree and tell him I said thank you, for everything?” She asks sweetly and I nod.
“It should be me thanking him, little one, but I will tell him anything you want.”
“Can you tell him to visit me in my dreams?” She asks hesitantly and seems as if she regrets saying that.
“I will.” I reassure her just as we exit the retaining wall and turn to go to the spirit tree.
Arriving at the spirit tree had planted a smile on her sweet little face. The illuminated space was beautiful during this time of night and seeing her face lit up was even better.
“Your tahnì!” She states as she looks at my chest, smiling widely, letting her hands slide down my arms.
“I want you to sit up here while I dive, okay?” I state as I take her by the waist, lifting her off the ilu and up onto the magnetic rock walkway she had sat on once before.
“Please be safe,” She expresses concern on her beautiful face and I couldn’t help but kiss her, it had been a while since we did that.
“Just for you,” I reply before dipping my head below the water and heading over toward the petals. Grabbing my braid and looking at the tendrils sliding out of it, looking back up through the water and seeing my love’s little feet in the water, I look back at the petal before connecting my kuru and allowing my mind to calm itself.
~~~~~~
“It’s nice to see you again.”
I wince as his voice has remained the same. He didn’t sound angered one bit, I allowed my nerves to busy themselves as I observed the scenery before me and it comes as a shock that we aren’t in the forest like we usually are.
“We are home, why?” I asked as I turn, looking at the sky, before settling back on him.
“Change of scenery. I was getting bored in the forest.” He states nonchalantly.
“Neteyam, I want to apologize for leaving abruptly when I did-“
“It appears I was right hmm?” He raises his brows in amusement, smiling wide. “She has humbled you.”
He comments and I’m blushing.
“You had it the moment I told you about her.” He smiles and I’m in awe.
“She is everything you said she would be and somehow even more.” I respond and he nods.
“She is your wife now, I take it.” He asks and I can’t stop myself from nodding as a childlike spirit with no real body runs up to him.
“Neteyam, can you-“ The little spirit cuts itself off from talking as it catches a glimpse of me.
“Hello there,” I wave at the adorable white glowing orb, its body mostly glowing so I couldn’t really make out the gender.
“Ma’sempul!” The little spirit flies over to me and tackles me happily bouncing all over my chest.
“I’m afraid you have me confused with someone else, I’m not your-“
“This is the spirit of the first child you are set to have between yourself and Y/n.” Neteyam says as he gently picks the child up and off my chest.
“Those exist here too?” I asked in disbelief as Neteyam nods.
“Yes,” He smiles at me before turning the kid around and pushing them by the shoulders. “It’s not your time to head out into the world yet, but soon, I’ll be back in a second to play with you okay?” He reassures the tiny spirit and I feel my heart ache at the sight of them leaving.
“For obvious reasons I cannot tell you much about them, only that they will definitely be a handful.”
“As long as I have Y/n, I’ll be alright.” I admit and Neteyam nods.
“That is true, how-“ He cuts himself off and I only smile as he tries fitting the words the way he wants.
“How is she?” He asks with genuine curiosity.
“I would love to tell you, but she told me to make sure and tell you to visit her in a dream. Maybe there you can catch up. Maybe destress together, if you catch my drift.” I stated and his eyes widened.
“Think about it, okay? I’ll make sure to tell her to enjoy herself. It’s the least I could do for you.” I smiled at his shocked face.
“Thank you for coming to see me again.” Neteyam stated pleasantly before the little spirit started walking back over. “But my hands are full at the moment so I will see you another time, yeah?” He asks and I nod.
“I’ll visit you again, and thank you for everything Neteyam.”
“You’re welcome, Ao’nung.”
I opened my eyes as soon as I pulled my Kuru from the spirit tree, feeling a sense of relief flooding through me as I’d finished my visit with Neteyam. Kicking my feet as I floated upward closer to the surface to meet my wife.
__________
I’m not one to write notes at the bottom of the story but I didn’t wanna spoil anything up there^^ but I have a question for y’all if you could answer in the comments
Should I include a Neteyam x Y/n dream scapes smut for the next chapter? She won’t get pregnant off of it but I figured I’d ask to see what you guys wanted. And it also doesn’t help that Doja cats “Shine” was playing in my ear and I got to the part where she says “Yeah I’m fucking Mike, Dick was hella mean, slipped in so nice” 😖😫
This is legit the only reason I posted this chapter a lil earlier, just to get y’alls opinion in how the next one should go… the more feedback I get the faster I can start the next one… tysm

This is my contribution to the Harringrove Relay Race! 🎄❤️@harringrove-relay-race
Santa Baby ~
Billy wasn’t happy with his predicament but honestly any extra cash would do… even if it meant babysitting your crushes ex’s younger sister.
Holly was a sweet kid. Shy at first, but after becoming a frequent swimmer at his Turtle Tots classes in summer Billy’s come to know what a bubbly yet devious inside she had. Adorable baby blues not even he could say no to along with a pixie laugh when she got her way.
Here he was, standing outside the mall, about to spend his Christmas day with a five year old.
To be fair it was way better than whatever burnt roast Susan would salvage, forced to choke down undercooked potatoes with his father’s threatening glare across. Forced to match Max’s tight smile and fake gratitude as she opens her third present while he gets none. Always. Only to left alone with his asshole dad and mouse of a wife while she runs off to her nerd friends' houses, blissfully ignorant of what waits for him behind closed doors.
Mrs Wheeler stopped him a week ago. Hand on his arm caressing, asking if he could be ‘ever so kind’ and watch her youngest on such a special day. Billy doesn’t care what she deigns so important she can’t look after her own child, but from the amount of cash stuffed into his hand he’s not complaining at all.
Twenty dollars to babysit her and another twenty five to buy her a gift. He can keep the change.
Holly takes him left and right. Kinda embarrassing how this little kid knows her way round more than him. Up the stairs they go to Claire’s, receiving a few warm chuckles from the lady running the till when Holly asks him which stuffed plushie is superior.
Billy personally thinks the reindeer one is cuter. It’s called Antler Claus.
They pick up some hot chocolate and share a gingerbread cookie. Holly called the thing Hermon and then decapitated its head, handing him the torso and legs. She’s darn cute.
Tugging on the arm carrying her teddy, she points down the hall. He turns to her,
“Mm?”
“I wanna see Santa!”
“Santa?” Billy looks where she’s pointing. A Christmas set up. A tree and a couple presents laid out, theres’ a small queue of people waiting to talk to a guy in red lounged on a chair.
“Oh… Santa.”
“Yep!” She tugs him forward with the mighty force of a toddler and they line up behind, Billy squinting at that floppy brown hair under the hat. Even though the boy’s face is hidden under that ridiculous beard, Billy could recognise him anywhere.
Steve Harrington in all his glory, sweating under layers of heavy velvet, trying with all his might to sell a jolly man accent.
He can’t suppress a smirk as they walk up for their turn. Steve tries hard to not make eye contact with Billy, instead listening intently to Holly.
“Hi there little miss! Have you been a good girl for Santa this Christmas?”
She giggles, swaying back and forth on Steve’s knee, “Yes! I spent today with Billy, it was so fun! We got a rei- rain—“ She frowns at Billy.
“Reindeer.”
“Reindeer!” Shining her brilliant three teeth smile at the older boy. They both laugh at her adorable antics.
She pulls Steve’s ear in, whispering in that way only children do, loud yet secretive all the same. “Don’t tell my mummy but this is way more fun than being home.”
Steve sends him a soft smile and Billy tries with all his might to tape down that warm shakiness building in his chest. Steve tells her to grab a gift off the shelf and while she’s away for a few minutes Billy’s curiosity gets the better of him.
“What made you do this instead of..” He waves his hand around lamely, “Festivities at home.”
Steve looks down at his lap a little forlorn, “I don’t think anyone would even realise I’m gone..”
“Ah..”, that sad pout makes Billy regret asking.
The other sighs, “Well why are you not at home? I wouldn’t have pegged you getting along with Holly.”
“Well, she’s a good kid and any extra money is useful,” Billy shrugs, not wanting to get into the details of a shitty house to go back to.
Steve nods in understanding, then snorts “Well haven’t you been a good boy this year,” pats his lap like the jerk he is. “Why don’t you sit on my lap”.
Billy blushes and looks heavenward, cursing god for making his fall for this absolute dork. Holly comes to save the day. Another plushie, a penguin this time, tucked under her arm and pulls him toward the churro stand.
He looks back at Steve, questioning how much he owes for the toy. Steve shakes his head and smiles, “Don’t worry about it, maybe instead you could stop by at four? It’s when I clock off, we could hang if you're free?”
Billy looks away, face warming but not from the temperature. He tickles Holly’s side and taps her nose, “Once I put this bug in her bed I’ll come back” They awkwardly wave goodbye, Holly giggles at him and he smiles back.
This Christmas isn’t turning out to be so bad after all.
Happy holidays everyone! Please look forward to the lovely work from the next person 🎉@thatgirlwithasquid

dating ethan landry would include
a/n: yeah yeah i'm simping for another white man what's new. again completely self indulgent because i really wanna see scream vi again
warnings: scream vi spoilers, swearing
lemme just go ahead and say that this takes place in an alternate universe where he is not ghostface because i'm a delusional bitch 😁
so obviously the two of you both go to blackmore
and y'all met because you were friends with the woodsboro gang and he's chad's roomate
but even tho the two of you were always around each other due to your friends, you never really talked
i'm not saying that ethan is shy or anything he's maybe just a bit more cautious??? like he wants to see your personality before he tries talking to you
he also thinks you're really hot and doesn't wanna make a fucking fool of himself
y'all also have a class together
and your teacher likes to switch up the seating chart every unit and this time he puts the two of you right next to each other
which is perfect!! because now he has a chance to talk you without being interrupted by chad or mindy
naturally with the two of you sitting next to each other you're talking more often
and y'know maybe you missed a day of class for some reason
so ethan took it upon himself to take the notes twice so you'd have your own physical copy
he 100% has a full-blown crush on you at this point but he's too shy to say anything
he also feels like the two of you don't know each other that well and thinks it would be weird if he were to just spring his feelings on you
he tried to (discreetly) ask chad what he should do about his feelings
this did not go so well
"so this person that you like is y/n? dude just ask them out"
and yeah part of ethan knows that he's being ridiculous and that he should just suck it up and ask you on a date
but there's a bigger. louder part of him telling him that he should wait it out a little bit longer
in the meantime he's let chad talk him into going to some halloween frat party
he honestly didn't want to go but then mindy told him that you were coming and he thought
"perfect!! tonight's the night"
except he's never asked anyone out before so he needs a little courage
chad spends half the night talking ethan up to go talk to you queue the clip of chad calling ethan a snack
honestly by this time you knew what ethan was trying to do, and you were gonna save him the trouble and confess to him first but
he just looked so adorable trying not to stare at you all night
unfortunately neither of you gets to make a move because of the whole thing with tara
but he is determined to confess before the night is over
he ends up walking you to your dorm
and he's talking like the whole time
about any and everything
and he's just so cute when he's rambling so you just can't help yourself when you top him in his tracks and kiss him
when you pull away he is literally frozen in his place
he was not expecting you to do that so he just like stares at you
finally snaps out of it when you move away from him slightly
his confession comes out really rushed and is honestly not coherent but you knew what he was gonna say
let's just say before he left the two of you had more than a fair share to do on your first date
and now for the actual boyf stuff
simply put ethan is like the best boyfriend ever
he carries your bags and stuff for you
buys you snacks every time you visit his dorm
you practically live in his hoodies and shirts
the best cuddle buddy
like just imagine laying there watching a movie with him and running your hand through his curls
literally the best fucking thing ever
ugh speaking of his curls
he loves when you play with them, it's literally the fastest way to get him to calm down

*crawls out of the ground like a mole, coughing up copious amounts of dirt*
so, hello.
i try to keep things as vague & light as possible when referencing my homelife because, honestly, the last time i brought up anything tangentially related i was essentially told “you being upset is making other people upset and ruining the fun” so being anything other than ✨chaotic positivity gremlin wilder ✨ here makes me paranoid, hence why i’ll just disappear for weeks sometimes.
but.
i’ve clearly been gone for a bit, will probably be gone for a bit longer, and since i’ve been getting messages from folks wanting to check in on me i wanna give a more detailed update than usual. i feel guilty for not responding directly, but for reasons i can’t get detailed on other than “the idea of having a conversation with 99.9% of people right now is terrifying” (is this what being nonverbal is, chat?) with even the .1% being a super recent development, a queue post into the void is my solution.
i won’t get that detailed, but if light references to domestic abuse, addiction, or just family issues in general are hard subjects for you - nothing past this paragraph is too pertinent anyway, so don’t worry about having to stop. all you gotta know is that some Bad Stuff with family happened, but i’m safe & i’ll be back in maybe another week or something.
anyways. i was living out of hotels for about 3 weeks.
more like 16-17 days if you want to get technical because 4 of those days i had an actual scheduled hotel for my twin’s wedding at the end of august - but i’ve basically been bouncing around since august 21st. the night of the 20th, i had a horrific fight with my family member and, for the first time ever, i left. don’t know if would call it brave on my part - since we were leaving for a trip anyway, this is just the first time my suitcase was already packed.
right now, i’ve been at another relative’s house since the 11th. i tried to go back on the 1st because, even after years of this, i’m apparently way too easy to convince everything is going to be fine… but by the 2nd i was out of there again.
currently mulling over my next move here because, as much as the common sense answer is to stay away, anybody who’s unfortunate enough to deal with this knows how complicated it is. i’m scared for this person’s safety as much as i am for my own. no one else really checks on them, and i’ve already had to deal with several medical emergencies they’ve had like bad falls & breathing problems. i don’t like leaving them alone for long because the guilt at the thought of something bad happening to them and no one knowing for possibly days or weeks eats me up.
i logically know i’ll have to get past that eventually because i can’t let my life be dictated by this incredibly toxic cycle forever or i’ll never be happy, but now isn’t the time. they also have a dog who would similarly be put at risk if something happened to them, so it’s a lot for me to worry about.
but, having said all that, we’re currently in the apology stage or i guess the negotiation stage because, after the shit that happened this time, i’m making it perfectly clear i’m not stepping foot in that house until they do something. detox, treatment, rehab, disulfiram, soberlink, therapy – something. we’re kind of running out of things for them to try at this point, but at least they used to try. they haven’t really been doing that this past year and I’m the one suffering the most because of it.
so yeah, that’s where things are at the moment. i’m mentally not doing so hot - but I’ve got my dog, and being able to sleep in a bed i’m familiar with for a change and not a hotel (I spent so much money on hotels, guys i’m cooked) is nice relief while I wait out whatever the hell is happening. talking to them over the phone again pretty much drains any of the energy I’ve got back, but it sounds like they’re starting to "get it' so hopefully they’ll start to take this seriously again because I can really only take one more year of this (if even) until I just need to accept these things aren’t my responsibility and move on.
honestly, having a close-knit group of friends/support system for the first time in years has really reminded me of that and given me the confidence to take a lot of steps to live for myself for a change, and to think about prioritizing my own happiness for once, which wasn’t the place i was in at this time last year, or the year before that, or the year before that - so I just want to say thank you again to anyone whose ever helped talk me through something or really just been nice to me at all. this is why i always remember to be kind because it can genuinely do a lot for someone going through something, because i know it has for me.
anyway uhhhhh i hope you are all doing well, and with any luck i’ll be chilling on here by the start of october. can’t miss spooky month and this insufferable pink bird’s birthday, after all.
much love.

Little interruption was so sweeeeeeeet. Could you maybe, just maybe do a part 2? Either a hot chocolate date or maybe like a year later, established relationship and kid calls Larissa mama too and she doesn't know how to handle it, so just emotions basically? Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase. :) It's okay if not. :)
The chosen one
(Pt. 2 of “lovely interruption”)
Larissa Weems x reader
A/n: this takes place about half a year into r and Larissa’s relationship, it’s a quick thing cuz Idk what else to write and also I wanna get these drafts done!
No warnings
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
It was a relatively calm day, if you take away your brother running around and screaming to point out absolutely anything he found mildly amusing, mostly at Larissa. He claimed she was much better at explaining than you, which obviously you were offended by.
Like he’s been doing for the past hour, he ran up to you and Larissa, but seeing as you were caught up in conversation and weren’t giving him the attention he so obviously needed to live, he chose to insert himself in, rather loudly. “Momma, momma!” He practically yelled, but he was looking straight at Larissa, not you.
Her eyes shot up to look at you in what you think was was panic. Shocked face turning into a joyful smile once she saw you were already looking at them interact, with nothing but love in your eyes and you gave her a slight nod. She cleared her throat and looked back his way, “yes, sweet boy?”
“What this?” And that was your queue to zone out for a bit, they’d be a while. He had taken to calling her “issa” since you did. You had no idea he thought of Larissa as a second parent, not just your partner. It made you beyond relieved to know that he not only liked her but considered her family. You also had no idea where the hell he came from calling her momma, it was adorable regardless.
“Thank you momma!” Your ears perked up again, snapping out of your thoughts as he ran off. Larissa seemed to be having some trouble with words at the moment, turning to you with really no idea of what to say. So you spoke first, “is that okay? Him calling you that?”
“You must be messing with me.” She replied, like you just asked the most obvious question ever. So he was allowed to do that but you aren’t? Rude. Sure you saw how happy it made her. Still, it never hurts to be sure. “Did you?-“
“No issa, that’s all you. I don’t know when or why he simply decided you’re momma now.” Right from across the room, he clearly overheard “Is that how it works?” He looked right at you both and nodded very obviously making you both chuckle, “He did it to me, so I guess in his mind, yes.”
“Well I’m more than honored to be called his momma.” She did say it with such pride, clearly exaggerated but you knew she meant it. “Congratulations! You’re the chosen one, Larissa Weems.”
You could see Larissa fighting the smile that threatened to stay on her face for the rest of the day at that. “I guess I am” Looks like the little matchmaker was just generally good at picking his people.

Day to Day Norm Pt.8
Norm Spellman x F!Quaritch!Recom!Reader
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the fanart, screenshots, or gifs used with my stories.
Warnings: Violence, reunions, tsaheylu.
Part 7
As everyone in Simmens squad was distracted watching his last moments, you subtly leaned down to whisper to the kid.
"For the love of Eywa please tell me you called your dad." You whispered and he looks at you surprised and you gesture at your neck. A look of realization crosses his features and he turns back around to watch the other group. After a moment he barely nods and you sigh in relief.
"Good. When we tell you to run, you run. There's only so much time we can buy you and your siblings." You tell him and he subtly nods again. You sniffed the air and turned toward your dad. "It's almost eclipse." You tell him quietly. "And it's about to rain." At the second part, he seems annoyed but then a smile breaks out across his face.
Either time was moving extremely slowly, or Jake had gotten slow. Either way, your group just needed him to get there soon. Eclipse had fallen and the rain was coming down hard. Your hand gripping the queue of the Na'vi boy loosened ever so slightly when you heard Neytiri's call. All the kids responded by looking around while you subtly nodded to your dad that they were there. The moment an arrow sunk into the head of one of Simmens' men he called out.
"Is that you Sully?" He asks.
"We will kill you however many times we must, demon!" You hear Neytiri call out. Another arrow buries itself into another one of Simmens' men.
"Now!" Your Dad calls out. "Defensive perimeter 'round the kids!" Your group forms a circle around the kids slowly pushing them in the direction Neytiri's arrows came from. Simmens and his men finally caught onto what you were doing and they were nolonger focusing on Neytiri.
"Run!" You yell at the kids and they all take off with the exception of Spider. "Spider I said run!"
"Not without you!" He argues back and your dad gestures with his head to follow them. Your group was running a little ways behind you but keeping a distance between you and Simmens. You were about to run across a fallen tree when something heavy collided with you. You skidded away from the tackle and pulled out your knife with a hiss expecting one of Simmens' men. You were met by a young male Na'vi with his teeth bared and you rolled your eyes. You roll your eyes and tear off your name from your vest and shove it in his hand. He becomes confused but you just grab his arm and start pushing him to follow his siblings.
"You give that to Jake or Neytiri and tell them we're ALL back. Go! My dad and I will try to get them off of your trail." He continues to stare at you and you repeat what you just said in Na'vi and he immediately takes off after his siblings. You pull out your bow and spot Spider hovering nearby ready to run when you were.
"Spider go! It's not safe here." You tell him as you notch an arrow and released it into the head of one of Simmens men.
"Not without you and Dad." Spider says and you shake your head.
"We're the distraction kid. Get outta here while you can." You tell him and your Dad shouts for everyone to run. "Fuck nevermind no time." You grab Spider and he slings onto your back as you take off running.
"(Y/n) what is he still doing here?" Lyle asks and you grunt as you fling yourself onto the next tree trunk.
"He didn't wanna leave without me and Dad so he's along for the ride." You call out and Lyle sighs exasperated.
"Is everyone in your family this stubborn?" Lyle asks and your dad laughs.
"If you can't handle one of us you can't handle all of us." Your Dad tells him and Lyle groans.
"Maybe it's a good thing I never got the chance to be with you." Lyle says and you shake your head as you continue to focus on running. Leading Simmens away from the Sully's but all their commotion from running stops and you look behind you. All of his men are retreating back and everyone in your group runs ahead a little more and finally stops to breathe.
"Holy shit." Z-Dog says and you side fist bump her.
"We totally just did that." You say and Spider slides off of you.
Meanwhile back at High Camp, Jake was pacing as he was thinking. Neteyam approached him and waited for his father to stop pacing. Finally, Jake stopped and sighed and took notice of his eldest son.
"I was told by one of the women from the clearing to give this to you." Neteyam says as he hands your name tag to Jake. "And to tell you that they are all back." Jake ran his thumb over the tag in his hand and hastily grabbed a picture from a nearby table.
"The woman who gave it to you, did she look like this?" Jake asks as he shows a picture of you, Jake, Grace, and Norm all in your avatars.
"Yes but her stripes were different." Neteyam said and Jake released a panicked breath.
"Even though it's her they still could've been caught or killed... They could have Spider. He knows everything." Jake starts to spiral in panic again and Neteyam goes and gets his mother to help his father. Jake stops panicking enough to tell Neytiri everything.
"We have to leave because they could've captured Spider. That kid knows the whole operation inside and out." Jake tells her and Neytiri shakes her head.
"We should wait a few days. If they were not caught Spider might come here with (Y/n) and her father." Neytiri says and Jake shakes his head.
"We need to leave soon because what if Simmens comes with Spider instead? If the clan is caught harboring us they could die." Jake argues back and an argument between the two ensues. Finally ending with Neytiri agreeing with Jake to leave the forest with their family. So about a day later after Jake had been 'killed' and Tarsem was made Olo'eyktan. The Sully family left the forest to seek the safety of the reefs.
"Don't eat that or you'll die." You tell Lopez and he nearly throws the small poisonous plant. You walk away and grab some yovo fruits and banana fruits from nearby. You rubbed your brows as you tried to figure out your next step. You placed the fruits on a large leaf in the middle of the group.
"What's our next step?" Lyle asks and you and your dad look at eachother.
"We get Spider back to his people and we ask them to help us figure out where we go next." Your Dad says and Spider nearly flies off of the tree he's been sitting in.
"Woah, woah, woah. No. No way. You're not gonna drop me off and leave." Spider says and your dad sighs.
"You don't understand all of the horrible things I did back when I was human. All the pain and chaos that I caused and... I don't want to be a reminder of that for them." Your Dad says and your ears perk forward.
"We could be a nomad tribe." You say and everyone looks at you confused. "They exist... They're rare but they exist. They're typically tied to a clan for trade reasons, but they never just stay in one place." You say and Spider scoffs.
"Why don't you guys just come back with me and I can talk to Norm and Max and they can help me talk to Jake about getting you guys in? They're your friends and family. Norm wears your songcord next to his everyday and when I was growing up they would tell us stories. Neytiri would tell us about how she met you and Jake and how you changed the heart of a demon. Jake used to tell us about all of your embarrassing and funny stories. Norm and Neytiri would team up to tell the story of when you cemented your fate to be next to the people... Both of you. How you sacrificed yourself to save her. She hasn't forgotten what your sacrifice allowed her to do." Spider says and you let out an airy chuckle scoff.
"If we were on Earth I'd tell you to go into politics." You tell him and everyone laughs with you.
"Oh ha ha. Very funny, but I'm being serious." Spider says and you fidget with your fingers as you and your dad have a silent conversation through your eyes. He shakes his head to show he wasn't for it, but you ropp your eyes and give a pointed look at Spider then back to your dad. He sighs and his shoulders sag.
"Fine. We'll do things your way Spider." Your Dad says and Spider smiles wide.
"Alright once everyone is rested and they've eaten we'll go." Spider says happily and you chuckle. After you're all finished eating you sit and chat for a little while until Spider hops up.
"We gotta get a move on. If we want to make it back to High Camp by tomorrow we should go now." Spider says and everyone gets up allowing the teenage boy to lead everyone.
"Why isn't (Y/n) leading us?" Mansk asks.
"Becauae I don't know where they live now. Hometree was destroyed... Remember?" You ask him and he looks away.
"Right I forgot. Sorry." Mansk says and Ja claps him on the shoulder.
"It's alright she's been like a loving encyclopedia the whole time we've been here. I kind of thought she would know too." Ja says and you shake your head and continue walking. Spider was quick and lively and definitely in his element as he maneuvered through the forest. You were jostled from your thoughts when Spider stopped at the bottom of the entrance the Hallelujah Mountains. It was nearing eclipse do the sun was slowly disappearing behind Polyphemous.
"I hope you're all ready for a climb." Spider says as he starts climbing up the rocks and trees.
"Spider wait that's dangerous." Your Dad says and you scoff.
"Wait until you have to tame an ikran at the highest point of the mountains." You tell him and he gulps as he looks up. "Plus I've done this before so... You'll be fine. Just don't look down." You tell him as you and Spider start climbing next to eachother. You continuously stop and make sure that everyone in your group was still there. When you finally reached a flat area with a cave opening Spider motions to it.
"We live here now. We have for the last few years." Spider says as he walks in with you and your dad following right behind. Your eyes open wide with wonder and sadness. Not living in a tree must be hell for the Omatikaya. Mobile units are everywhere and soon your group is surrounded by warriors and villagers alike. Your hands go up to show you aren't a threat and Spider waves them off.
"Guys it's okay. They're not dangerous. Atleast, not to us. This is my sister (Y/n) and my dad Miles. This is their squad Lyle, Mansk, Ja, Z-Dog, Zhang, Prager, Lopez, and Brown." Spider introduces you and one of the younger warriors ears perk up.
"Wait... (Y/n)?" He asks as he looks at you but you don't recognize him. "Setxä. You saved my sister and I from the wreckage of Hometree?" He says and your eyes widen in disbelief.
"Wow... You got big." You say and he laughs.
"It's been 15 cycles." He says and you sigh.
"It has been a long time." You say and Spider finally jumps into the conversation.
"Hey where's Jake? We need to talk to him." Spider says and Setxä looks down.
"He is gone. They left yesterday because they feared our safety if you were to be caught by the sky people and used against us." Setxä says and Spider takes a stumbled step back.
"They just left?" He asked sadly and you put a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Spider." You say and he shakes his head.
"It's okay. It was a smart move. I know everything and there's no telling what the demons have as technology now." Spider says and he turns back to the warriors. "So who's Olo'eyktan now?"
"Tarsem. JakeSulí chose him personally." Setxä says and you cock your head to the side.
"Tsu'tey's little brother?" You ask him and he nods. The warriors start to part as Tarsem and Mo'at come into view. You gesture with your hand to them. "I see you, Olo'eyktan. I see you, Tsahík." Mo'at returns the gesture and let's a small smile play on her lips.
"It has been a long time since you have been home child." Mo'at says and Tarsem gets in your face to look at you closely.
"You were my brothers High Warrior when he was Olo'eyktan." Tarsem says and you nod.
"I'm sorry if this might be honest but I must know... What happened to him?" You ask Tarsem and he turns away from you.
"He was returned to the Great Mother the day you all battled the sky people." Tarsem says and your ears droop back in sadness.
"I'm sorry for your loss." You tell him and he pats your shoulder.
"He is not lost. He lives within Eywa and is reunited with his love Sylwanin." Tarsem tells you and you let out a teary chuckle.
"He was a good Olo'eyktan and an even better friend... I hope he didn't hear me say that. He would have skinned me if he were still here." You tell Tarsem who laughs with you. He slings an arm over your shoulder and leads you deeper into their camp. A few avatars loitering about saw your approach and one immediately ran off.
"We only have two spare kelku's. Jake's and mine. I am recently mated and moved into her kelku. So your family is welcome to both of them due to its... Size." Tarsem says and you nod.
"Thank you Olo'eyktan." You say and he shakes his head.
"I am your friend. It is Tarsem." He says and you nod. He and Mo'at promptly leave and you turn to your dad.
"Alright who's staying in which kelku?" You ask him and he turns around to his squad.
"Mansk, Ja, Prager, Lopez, and Zhang in that one. Lyle hope you don't mind bunking with the ladies and I, because I don't want any funny business." Your Dad says and you laugh. You hear a couple of shuffling sets of feet running up to your group. You turn around and find Norm and Max(?) standing there frozen to the spot. You push through Lyle and your Dad and stop a few feet from them.
"Hey Norm. Max." You greet them and Max passes by Norm and hugs you.
"I thought they had decided not to go through with it." Max says and you shake your head.
"You know the RDA once they put money into something they follow through with it." You tell him and Norm seems to snap out of his shock because once Max backs away Norm has you in his arms. He's got you hugged around the waist slightly off the ground with his head buried in your shoulder.
"I lost you." Is all Norm can bring himself to say. You wrap your arms around him just as tight and plant a kiss to the top of his head.
"I'm not going anywhere this time." You whisper to him.
"Yeah the Colonel will kill anyone who threatens her." Lyle says and it's followed by a quiet oof after your dad jabs his side with his elbow.
"Let 'em have their moment." Your Dad says and everyone starts filing into their respective kelku's. Max walks up to your dad and offers him his hand.
"I don't know if you remember me, but I'm-" Max doesn't finish what he's saying as he's pulled into the kelku behind your dad.
"Max. I remember." Is all you hear and then it's quiet between the two of you.
"I love you. I love you so much." You hear Norm whisper into your shoulder and you sigh.
"I love you more and I'm so sorry." You say and Norm shakes his head.
"You're here now. Just please don't leave me again." He says and you kiss his temple.
"I wouldn't dream of it." You tell him and he finally sets you down and you get a good look at him. "Like a fine wine, you've aged well."
"I would hope so. This is my only body now." Norm says and you look at him surprised.
"Did you go through the ceremony?" You ask him and he shakes his head.
"That consciousness transfer device that you bought. I tested it a few weeks ago to make sure it was safe for Spider." Norm says and your ears flick back.
"I didn't tell Max everything about that device." You tell him and he looks at you in question. "It was an experimental design... That I made. It was based mostly on the design of the link pods but portable and permanent. I designed it and paid a company to make it for me. It could've been dangerous." You tell him panicked but he smiles.
"Even if it wasn't experimental it would've been a risk. I was willing to take it for Spider. He deserves to live among the Na'vi as one of them." Norm says and you smile.
"So is it almost ready?" You ask him and Norm nods.
"Hey Max!" Norm calls out and Max comes out. "Do you think we could show (Y/n) your personal lab?" Norm says and Max smiles.
"Oh yeah! Come on." Max gestures for you to follow him but you stop and call out to your dad.
"Hey dad can you come here? Norm, Max, and I wanna talk to you about something." You tell him and he follows you to Max's lab. The four of you enter and you chuckle at how everyone is ducking low.
"Here it is. Just like I promised." Max says and you set a hand on the glass of the grow tube.
"Wow... It looks just like him." You say and your dad peaks over your shoulder and he turns you to face him.
"Is that what I think it is?" He asks and you nod.
"An avatar for Spider. He deserves to live among his people the way they do." You tell him and you look at Max and Norm. "When will it be ready for him to transfer to?" You ask them.
"We have to decant it but should be ready by tomorrow. This is just a bonus surprise for him on top of the two of you. He'll have almost a full family." Max says and you frown.
"Paz wouldn't have been a good mother to him. Dad picks shitty women to produce the best children." You say and your dad smacks the back of your head. "Hey! I'm speaking the truth if you don't like it that's on you." You say jokingly and he rolls his eyes.
"So when are the two of you going to tell him?" Your Dad asks Norm and Max and they look at eachother.
"We think it should be one of you. Now that you're back it would be easier for him to accept change from you. Plus it's because of you that we could do this." Max says and you feel honored.
"I'll go get him. He's going to be so stoked." You say as you shuffle over to the door and walk out. You prance your way back to where you were before and find Spider wrestling with Lyle and Z-Dog. "Hey guys can I steal Spider for a bit?" You ask them and Spider wiggles out from between the larger bodies. He joins you and you start walking him back over to Max's lab.
"We aren't allowed to go in there. Max doesn't want those samples contaminated." Spider says and you chuckle.
"We have permission I promise Spider." You tell him and open the door for him. He goes in with you right behind him and he takes off his exo-pack. You lead him toward the back of Max's lab where the three men are still stood talking quietly. Spider looks curiously at the grow tank and immediately looks at the avatar inside. When he recognizes it he looks up at Norm and Max in full shock.
"Are you being for real?" Spider asks and they nod. He runs around the grow tube and hugs them. "Thank you! Thank you so much."
"You should be thanking her. She got all of this equipment in the first place." Max says and you huffed.
"You did all the work." You tell them and Max rolls his eyes.
"Work that wouldn't have been possible if you hadn't gotten all this to begin with." Max argues and you sigh in defeat. Spider laughs and wipes the tears from his face as he goes back to looking at his avatar.
"When do I get to take him out?" Spider asks and you smile at him.
"Max says he should be ready for you by tomorrow, but Spider you don't have to go back and forth between him and you." You tell him and he looks up at you confused. Max steers Spider into a corner where the lights are off and he turns them on. There in all of its glory is your design for a high-tech piece of equipment.
"This is a machine that can and will transfer your consciousness from this body to your avatar if you want to. You'll sit in this seat and he will be strapped into this seat." Max gestured to the correct chairs. "The design is ingenious really. The side you'll sit in will take your consciousness and hold idle, while this right here connects to your avatar's tswin. There your consciousness will be absorbed by your new body." Max explains and Spider gently starts touching the machine. He stops at some writing on the machine.
"It's called (Y/n) Q.?" Spider asks Max who shakes his head with a chuckle.
"The company this came from names the prototype after the person who created and designed it." Max says and Spider looks at you surprised. "(Y/n) designed this machine and it's truly a work of art."
"I told them not to put my name on it." You tell them and cross your arms in a huff. "Didn't want Mom to get any royalty if it succeeded. Because with technology already created at the time to grow new healthy bodies, all that was needed was to make a machine that could help your mind transfer to it. This was a design I had specifically for human to Na'vi transference, but I sold them the idea for the design with two conditions. 1. I get the original machine proposed then they could fiddle with it to make it useful for human to human transference. 2. I didn't want my name on it. I didn't mind Grandma getting the royalty from it, but I did mind Mom getting her grubby slimy hands on that money."
"See? I was right. Might not have had that fancy degree, but smart enough to have one." Your Dad says and you blush and look away.
"I just took the idea of the link pods and made it permanent. Just a bit of tweaking here and there nothing big." You mumbled and Norm nudged your cheek with his nose.
"Is that why I haven't seen you walking around as a human lately?" Spider asks Norm who nods.
"I wanted to test it and make sure it worked. I didn't want you to get hurt from it." Norm says and Spider smiles widely at everyone around him.
"You're all the best. Thank you. This means so much to me. I don't think you'll ever understand." Spider says his voice full of thankfulness and happiness.
"Alright I think I'm gonna scrounge up some grub for me and the squad and hit the hay after. I'm exhausted." Your Dad says and you nod to acknowledge that you'd heard him.
"I'll help!" Spider says as he snaps the string of his bow against his chest lightly.
"I'm just gonna eat some fruit and get out of my avatar. It's been a long day." Max says and everyone makes their way out of the mobile lab. You look at Norm as everyone goes to their predetermined destinations.
"I still want you as my mate... If you'll have me." You tell him and he sighs relieved and cups your cheeks.
"You've always had me. Even when you weren't here." Norm says and you release a happy sob. "Let's go talk to Mo'at about mating again."
"Would it be okay if I found something to wear other than this? It still reeks of the RDA." You tell him and he chuckles.
"I still have all of your stuff." Norm says bashfully and you frown. "I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. When Jake and Neytiri showed me where you kept your things... I couldn't get rid of a single bit of it. If you want your stuff it's in my kelku." You nod and he leads you to his kelku. When you step in you scrunch your nose as you look around.
"It needs cleaned. You just throw your clothes on the floor?" You ask him and start picking up his stuff to throw it in a pile in a secluded corner. "I'll need to weave you a laundry basket."
"You don't have to I jus-" He starts but you cut him off.
"No. If we are to be mated again I need to make your home a home. Not just for me but for you." You tell him but he shakes his head.
"No. What I was saying is that I would prefer to dress like you once we're mated again. I will get rid of these clothes and switch to wearing twengs and traditional Na'vi clothing." Norm says and pulls out a tweng. "Like this one. I only have two right now." He says sheepishly.
"Then I'll make you more." You tell him and he smiles while blushing.
"That box has your stuff in it." Norm says and you go over to it. When you open it you find your bow and some of your arrows. Underneath those are some of the clothes you wore during your learning days in the Omatikaya. You take off your shirt and sports bra and throw them in the pile of Norms dirty clothes. You pull out a beaded top woven with purple, blue, and green beads. You put it on and find the tweng that goes with it. It's a blue material with matching purple and green beads hanging on the sides of the front covering cloth. You take off your pants and put on the tweng. You turn to Norm and show him your outfit, but you weren't expecting to find him wearing his tweng and a sheath strap across his chest.
"You completed your iknimaya?" You asked him and he nods.
"I felt closer to you in my avatar and when I was with The People. So it felt right to follow the path that you and Jake blazed for us dreamwalkers." Norm says and you cross the open area and drape your arms around his waist as you look up at him. "We should go see Mo'at before it gets too late." You nod and he leads you to Mo'at's tent where she seems to already be waiting for the two of you.
"Mo'at we would like to talk to you about Norm and I mating again." You tell her and she smiles and motions for the two of you to sit across from her.
"I was expecting to see the two of you tonight. The Great Mother has many plans for the two of you." Mo'at says and she starts grabbing various herbs and tossing them into the fire. She reaches over and takes one of your hands and one of Norm's and connects them. She closes her eyes and takes deep breaths of the air around her.
"The Great Mother is pleased with this pairing and blesses it." Mo'at says and gets up. She walks behind the both of you and takes both of your tswin's into her hand. "Are you ready?" She asks and you both nod eagerly. She brings them together until they conjoin and both you and Norm look at eachother with blown pupils.
"Your connection is strong and withheld through the trial of death." Mo'at says and makes her way back to her seat. "Go enjoy your first night freshly mated." She says and you and your mate don't disconnect your kuru's as you make your way back to his kelku.

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧
𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐲 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
“Hey, have you seen my hat ‘round here? I coulda sworn it was on the table.”
Looking up from your place on the couch, you shook your head at Cassidy. He had the most confused face you’ve ever seen, and it took everything in you not to giggle at his predicament. Of course you knew where it was, as you were the one who had taken it.
He stared at you for a good minute, and when you made no signs of lying, he hummed and spun on his heel to go back down the hallway.
“Alright then. I’ll go ask Hanzo if he’s seen it. I bet ya he took it with how stealthy he is.”
You smirked to yourself and continued scrolling on your phone. To you, it was hilarious seeing him so puzzled. After a few minutes of nonchalant browsing, you heard yells from Hanzo’s room.
“Are you accusing me of taking your hat?”
“I have reason to believe it was you!”
“Cole for the last time, I did not steal your hat!”
You snorted quietly at hearing the two grumpy men bantering. It was always entertaining to listen to them argue over little things. It went silent for a few moments, and then all of a sudden, loud laughter could be heard from down the hall. Was that… Hanzo’s laughter?
You put your phone down on your lap to focus on the conversation better.
“No! Noho! Don’t tickle me! Cole!”
Your blood ran cold at hearing those words. Cole Cassidy was a ruthless tickler and you did NOT want to be at the hands of him. You felt a bit of pity for the Shimada, but you still couldn’t help but find the whole situation funny.
“Just tell me where you put it and I won’t go for your ribs!”
Over his loud cackling, you just barely heard him say your name. That traitor!
“I saw them take it! Now- haha, please!”
That was your queue to leave. You quickly leaped off the couch and ran the opposite way of Cassidy’s loud yelling of your name.
Behind you, you heard the door to Hanzo’s room open and the rapid pounding of footsteps follow after you.
“Get back here, ya little fraud!”
You traveled through the seemingly endless hallways and turned left and right at each new opening. Cassidy’s steps never strayed too far though. He was hot on your tail and you were running out of stamina. Running down one more hallway, you took your chances with the door on the right, which trapped you right into a dead end.
‘Well, I had a good life,’ you thought.
Slowly turning around with a sigh, you saw Cole standing directly in front of you, an irritated yet playful look etched onto his features.
“So, ya wanna fess up or deal with this the hard way?” His voice showed no real anger and you let a guilty smile creep onto your face.
“I didn’t take it?”
He let out a deep chuckle and shook his head. Stepping towards you, he looked at you in the eyes. His gruff voice spoke out.
“Well, you had a good life.”
With that, he grabbed you by the waist and hoisted you over his shoulder. You yelped and grunted as he started walking back the way you both came from.
“Hey! Put me down, Cole!” You gently slapped and hit his back, yet your efforts were futile. His stronghold never once loosened and, soon enough, you were back on the couch.
He took your phone that was left there and moved it onto the small stand next to the couch. Lightly tossing you on the couch, you grunted and made a move to get back up, but he put a firm hand on your shoulder and lowered you back down. He repositioned his leg on the other side of yours to straddle your waist and you gulped.
“W-wait! Let’s talk about this!”
Cassidy smirked and narrowed his eyes at you. “We did, and you lied right to my face.” His hands grasped your wrists and put them under his knees, rendering you immobile. Anticipatory giggles slipped from your mouth and you couldn’t help trying to squirm out of his grip.
His eyes never looked away from yours and his hands crept towards your torso, fingers wiggling tauntingly. “I ain’t even doing anythin’ yet, why are you laughing?”
His fingers touched down on your sides and you flinched, a squeak leaving your lips. He didn’t move them though, as he just let them rest there.
“Any last words?”
A moment of silence passed.
“You look better with it o- no!”
Before you could finish your sentence, his fingers went straight to work. They squeezed and prodded and poked at your sides and ribs, earning a bout of laughter from you. You threw your head back and squeezed your eyes shut, involuntarily squirming around.
“Will you tell me where ya put my hat, dear?” Cassidy asks as he scribbles his fingers against your ribs. Taking a deep breath, you managed a “no!” through giggles. He shrugged his shoulders and moved his hands to your hips, gently squeezing the spot right above the bone.
“It’s your funeral.”
Your feet kicked out on the other side of the couch and you cackled. Shaking your head from side to side, you weakly pulled at your wrists, but they were still stuck under Caissdy’s weight. “Hey, did ya know I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the piano?”
Your eyes went wide and you fixed your gaze on him. He had a shit-eating grin on his face, that bastard. Leaving your hips, his hands found the vacancy on your lowermost ribs.
You shouted out pleas of “no” and “please,” but it didn’t deter the cowboy at all.
“I think if I press here, this sound comes out, right?” His index finger pressed on your rib and you squeaked. He smiled and nodded his head, chucking. “Yes! That’s the sound!”
“I think with a tap here and a scribble there, I’ll be a pro in no time! What do ya think?” He asked as he skittered his nimble fingers in the same spot.
You giggled maddeningly and shook your head. “You s-suck at playing the piano!”
He gasped and squinted his eyes at you. “Well that’s just mean! I’ll show ya how good I am.”
Before you could even blink, rapid fingers were scribbling on your ribs, sending tickly sensations coursing through your body. You shrieked and once again your head was thrown back against the arm of the couch. His fingers seemed to be everywhere at once and you howled with laughter.
After a few moments of his ruthless piano playing, he let up. You greedily sucked in deep breaths and giggles poured out of your lips. He grinned down at you.
“One last chance to fess up, pumpkin. Or I won’t be so lenient.”
You blushed at the thought of what he would do. Of what he could do. But of course, you were stubborn. Sucking in all of your giggles, you let a smirk take over your features with newfound confidence.
“You can kick the dust.”
And just like that, the confidence was gone. Cassidy didn’t say anything nor did his facial expression change. His hands grabbed yours from underneath his knees and he put them above your head. One hand held both of yours while the other wiggled in front of you.
You drew in a breath and prepared for the ticklish onslaught. Closing your eyes, you waited for your death. Except it never came. You could hear your heartbeat in your chest and the silence in the room was deafening. Curious, you peeked an eye open to look at what was happening.
As soon as you did, Cassidy’s hand landed on your armpit, his swift fingers kneading the soft skin. A piercing screech ripped from your throat that could’ve alerted the whole Overwatch team, followed by boisterous laughter.
Cole was taken aback by your scream, but it didn’t deter his tickling. You tried to pull your arms down with all your might, but he was just too damn strong. Your body squirmed from side to side and your feet kicked wildly.
He switched to the other underarm after a few moments and more laughter broke from you. Deciding to use both hands, Cassidy let go of your wrists and quickly shot it under your other arm. Your arms came crashing down to your sides and you squealed.
His fingers softly scribbled against the hollows and he chuckled. “Aw man, my hands are stuck now! Lift your arms!”
In between fits of laughter, you shook your head madly. “N-no! It’s a t-trap!”
Now it was Cassidy’s turn to cackle. His head was thrown back as he continued to tickle you. “Now why would it be a trap? C’mon!”
If you weren’t in your current situation, you would roll your eyes at his innocent tone. You didn’t say anything back, not that you could anyway. Laughter kept coming out of your mouth as you squirmed as much as you could.
Because of your loud laughter, you didn’t notice that Hanzo had been standing in the room, a sly smirk on his face as he watched the scene play out. His arms were crossed against his chest and he leaned on the wall.
Cole turned his head to look at him and spoke. “Oh hey, looks like our little friend doesn’t wanna fess up where my hat is. So I had to teach them a lesson about lying.”
Hanzo chuckled and looked back at you. Your head whipped to look at him and you shouted pleas through your bubbling laughter.
“H-Hanzo! Help me! Please!”
He pretended to think of an answer, his hand coming up to stroke his chin. “Hm. If I remember correctly, I was put through torture because of you. So no.”
Even Cassidy rolled his eyes at Hanzo’s dramatic words. He looked down at you and watched as you stuck out your tongue at the archer through cackles and squeals. His fingers never stopped scratching at your skin throughout the whole conversation.
Eventually, after what seemed like hours of tickling, Cassidy could tell you were reaching your limit. He stopped moving his fingers and let them rest against your underarms. Taking deep breaths, you thanked whatever gods were out there for the moment of peace.
“Oh my g-god! That was brutal!” Cole smirked and removed his fingers from your body. The sudden movement made you flinch and squeal, and both men laughed. Cassidy got off of your waist and you quickly curled up into a ball on your side.
Residual giggles leaked from your lips and you took in deep breaths. “So,” the cowboy started, “where’d ya put my hat?”
“It’s in the cabinet.”
Cassidy nodded and walked towards the one you pointed at. Opening the door, he grabbed his hat and put it back on his head.
He walked back over to where you were still laying on the couch and grinned. “Don’t let it happen again,” he spoke, “or else it’ll be a lot worse.” He poked your side for emphasis and you swatted his hand away.
“Okay! Okay, I got it!”
He chuckled and strolled out of the room. You closed your eyes and sighed, enjoying the peacefulness. It wasn’t for long though, as seconds later you remembered a certain Hanzo who was still standing against the wall.
“Can I help you?” You asked with an eyebrow raised.
Hanzo narrowed his eyes at you with a small smirk. “I need to get my revenge too for your little stunt.” He made a move of stepping towards you and your head shot up at him.
“Nuh uh! Absolutely not!” You pushed yourself up with the little strength you had left and ran back down the hall.
So much for a break.

My first ride on El Toro
I share a similarity with many roller coaster enthusiasts: I used to be mortified of them. Growing up as a kid, I wouldn’t dare to step foot on anything that dominated the skyline and/or went above 50 mph. But this was complicated by the fact that my home park is Six Flags Great Adventure. Widely considered to be one of the best, if not the best Six Flags park, for its ride portfolio, cleanliness (for Six Flags mind you) and amount of stuff to do, it's no surprise my childhood summer camp often organized field trips to it.
I wanna say it was 2015 when I went to Great Adventure with my dad and younger brother. I was 12 or so at the time, and it was my 3rd ever trip. We were beginning to feel tired, and so far we'd been on the Log Flume, Skull Mountain and the Dark Knight Coaster (indoor coasters which are much more family-oriented. But we still wanted to do one more ride before resigning to the (scam) boardwalk games. We were in the Frontier Adventures section, close to Runaway Mine Train, when my dad pointed across the water and said "How about that?" He was pointing at El Toro. My brother and I were both very hesitant at first, but then my dad said something that I will never forget. It was only 10 words, but they are 10 words that will ring in my head forever: "It's a wooden coaster. It can't be that intense, right?" And somehow, he convinced us.
We made the long walk over to El Toro (Great Adventure's a pretty big park), and for the entire trek and wait-time in the queue, I kept thinking of what dad said to keep calm. Even as I buckled up and lowered my restraints, I kept breathing steadily and repeating "it's just wooden, it's just wooden." And so the train left the station, hooked up to the cable lift and I preceded to freak out. Lemme tell you, that ascent up the lift hill is FAST. It was as we reached the top and began the turn-around that we finally realized just how tall El Toro really is. 181 feet might not seem like much nowadays regarding roller coasters, especially in the same park with Kingda Ka, the tallest coaster in the world (until Falcon's Flight opens in Saudi Arabia). But that is still very very tall, especially for a woodie. In fact, El Toro is the 3rd tallest wooden coaster in the world, only beaten by T Express at Everland and Colossos at Heide-Park. So it won't shock you to know that all three of us began to regret our decision as we turned around to the first drop. I yelled out an "I LOVE YOU" to my brother, and down we went.
It's hard for me to describe my experiences on roller coasters in a lengthy and wordy manner. For the most part, since the experience itself is pretty short, my descriptions on the actual rides tend to be on the shorter end. Explanatory? Sure. But not very long. And given this ride was almost a decade ago, I can't remember much of it. If you wanna hear a more in-depth discussion on El Toro's ride experience, I recommend ElToroRyan's video on it (I wonder what his favorite ride is, might be Raging Bull). So I will provide for you some choice words to describe my brain during my first ride on El Toro: Fast Windy Bumpy AMIGONNADIE HOLYSHITAMIFLYING HEEEEELP MAKEITSTOOOOP The ride came to a stop, and I thought I was gonna pass out. My brother was still screaming after we hit the brake run, and my dad looked like he'd come face to face with god. We got off, and we all needed a moment to readjust away from the station. And finally, as reached the exit of the park, I gave them my short thoughts on the ride: "It was fun, but I am NEVER doing it again." Now, if I could go back in time and tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: "You're a girl." But if I could tell her another thing, then it would be "if you wanna get over your fear of roller coasters, you just gotta do it. Trust the trains, they are safer than airplanes. And deep down, you know El Toro was fun. Why don't you try something else, rather than one of the most intense coasters in the world?" And here I am now, having visited Great Adventure another two times in one summer, alongside Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. And yet, after riding El Toro another four times, it remains my number one favorite coaster. I'm planning on visiting Cedar Point next summer with some friends, so that'll definitely shake up my rankings. But I am confident that even after Maverick, Millennium Force and Steel Vengeance enter my rankings, they will not dethrone the bull. Even when the day comes that I go to Magic Mountain and Alton Towers and finally ride X2, Tatsu, the Smiler and Nemesis, nothing, not now or ever, will ever take my number 1 spot from El Toro.

Hello hello hello! I hope your day/night has been good so far <3 I'm here to request Giorno with black!Reader (preferably female!) who asks him what kind of girls he likes and a casually describes her if that's ok? 🤭
Never Would Have Thought — Giorno x fem!black reader
contains: use of alcohol
this request was so cute omg!! i hope i did it justice!! (also to those who sent a request, yes i have seen it and yes i will get to it!! things are just going really slow rn bc i wanna write these well and i have a lot of work to do but i WILL get to them 🫶🏾)
part 2
“Since when did you pregame?”
A light smile etched it’s way onto your lips as you watched Giorno take a swig of your bottled drink, his actions as dainty as ever. You’re not sure why, but the way the alcohol easily slipped down his throat and the way his adam’s apple bobbled with each gulp, entranced you.
“I never ‘didn’t’ pregame, just never felt like doing it. ” He rasped once the bottle was free from his lips.
Wiping his free hand over his mouth, Giorno signalled the bottle in your direction. He leaned back onto your bed and propped himself up, the slacks of the furniture creaking along with his movements.
Your smile was light.
“Well, it’s a nice change. I’m not sure if this party's gonna be any good so at least I know someone’s gonna be turnt with me.”
Taking the bottle from him, you took a drink of your own. It was now Giorno’s turn to be inquisitive as his sky blue eyes watched the way your mouth clasped the rim, your thick glossy lips in the same place his just were. An ‘indirect kiss’, as Mista would say.
Actually, speaking of the guy…
“Whens Guido getting here?” Giorno asked, his eyes now focused on your bedroom walls as yours were now focused on him.
With a quick expression of remembrance you lowered the bottle from your mouth. Some of it splashing onto your chin.
“Oh, yeah! He said he’s gonna be running a bit late coz’ his car needs a jumpstart.” You picked up your phone that sat besides you on your bed, unlocking the device and opening up the chat messages between you and Mista.
Giorno deeply wanted to groan at Mista’s negligence to invest in another car, especially since he was supposed to be your ride to the party tonight. With the amount of money he spent trying to fix the one he had, he’d do better off selling it for scrap parts and buying a much newer and much mote reliable model.
It was even more annoying because Giorno’s warned him plenty times that the unreliability of the car was an impediment to everyone, especially Giorno himself because he currently had his license suspended (don’t ask).
However, part of him was grateful for Mista’s inability to listen to others and seek wise guidance because if Mista was going to take forever to get here, it meant that in the mean time, Giorno would get to spend ‘forever’ with you.
“Dang, that sucks.” The Joestar eyed the way some of the alcohol droplets darkened spots into your shirt. “What should we do in the mean time then?”
Locking and then discarding your phone, you wiped at all the spilled liquid that splattered your clothes and face. For his own sanity, Giorno had to glance away. Even though you were comfortable with each other, he couldn’t promise that he wouldn’t ogle your innocent reveal of deeper cleavage.
Shrugging, you passed the bottle back to the blonde.
“Dunno.” When Giorno received the drink from you, you took that as your queue to flop down onto your bed. However, after not even three seconds of rest, you sat back up.
“Actually, can I ask you a question?”
“You just did.”
With a roll of your eyes, you dismissed his predictable comment.
“God, you’re so corny.”
Giorno wanted to laugh freely, but his mouth was still full of alcohol (and the distant taste of artificial cherry lip gloss), and so he had to laugh with his mouth closed. You slightly pushed him to the side in reaction, your contact light as he swayed twice.
“No, I’m being for real. Like, I’m curious about something.” You piped.
Whilst he was gulping back what was already in his mouth, you wondered how you were going to phrase your question. Since Giorno was quite reserved you didn’t want to ask him anything that would make him uncomfortable or pry in a direction he didn’t deem fit. However, with undiluted alcohol now running through both of your blood streams you think now would be the best of times to ask.
“What’s your type?”
At the stating of your question Giorno covered his mouth with his fist. As his eyes stared at you with hooded austere, he made sure to swallow the rest of his drink and place the bottle down before properly replying.
“My type? As in girls?” He queried.
“Or guys. I see the way you look at Mister Mista sometimes, I can’t just presume.”
The blonde blinked at you twice before breaking out into a short yet loud guffaw. He was able to laugh properly now and for that he was grateful. He always seemed to find you so amusing.
“I…Please.”
With an easy yet questionable smile, you answered back.
“What’s so funny, I’m being serious!”
“I know you are.” Waving his hand, Giorno was quick to console your presumptions. “But no, that’s not the case.”
You nodded in clarification, understanding where he was coming from but you still wanted an answer. Looking over at the guy, you allowed your giddy emotions of anticipation to decorate your face.
“Okay, so?” You cheesed. This was something you definitely wanted to know now.
“My type.” He thought aloud.
Giorno has an idea of what his type is.
In fact, he was very aware of who he wanted and why he liked them. All that left for him to do was contemplate if now was the time for him to be wholly honest.
Either way, Giorno doesn’t think you’d appreciate him telling you the answer so easily. He knows you were always up for a tease and so he pretended to hum in thought.
“My type is… girls that wear cherry lipgloss.”
The pupils of your eyes rolled upwards into your head as a loud and low groan bellowed out from your mouth.
“Giooornoo, that ain’t a type. Anyone can wear cherry lipgloss, the hell? I can wear cherry lipgloss. In fact I’m wearing some right now.”
“Really?” He teased.
You moved closer towards him and smacked your lips in his direction so that he could smell the whaft of your gloss. The alcohol playing Tomb Raider within Giorno’s veins made it easier for him to lean right in and take a intruding smell. God, his nose was so close to your lips that any closer would warrant that he’d be smelling NK Cherry gloss for the rest of the night.
“Oh right. So you are.” He breathed once he pulled back.
Like he didn’t already know that.
“Your type. Tell it to me.” You pried.
Laying backwards onto your bed, Giorno folded his hands together as he looked up at your ceiling. However a spark of anxiety clicked on within his chest as his eyes anxiously focused on the adolescent glow stars that stuck above him.
Part of him wondered if he should be genuinely honest with you now because yeah, he wants to tell you the truth, but the conscious part of him was holding back. It’s not like he wouldn’t say anything — Giorno’s already decided that he was going to tell you — he just hopes he doesn’t regret his decision.
“I like when a girls inquisitive about my interests and the things I like.” He said.
Before you could even register it, a soft sigh left your mouth.
You joined Giorno in lying down properly on your bed. Momentarily closing your eyes you gathered your thoughts before turning your head in your friend’s direction, your cheek squashed against your duvet.
“Giogio. You know, you’re great — Great, great, great guy — but I’ll be straight with you and tell you that was kinda lame.”
You brought a friendly hand over to lay on his chest, shaking him as he lay next to you. A warm smile made it’s way onto the blonde’s face as he let himself be shaken by you. He realises then, in his mind, that he likes it when you touch him.
You stopped shaking the man once he had laid his hand on top of yours, his nimble individual limbs easily finding your own and clasping between the slots of your fingers.
From that alone, your breath hitched in your throat.
The both of you usually held hands. Well, not usually, but it was normal for you to hold each other in close vicinity. And you never thought anything wildly of it; because Giorno was your good friend (right?) and these actions never meant anything more than that (right?!).
So right now, concerning that Giorno was giving you a look you’d never seen him give you before, all you could do was speculate that this was the effects of alcohol and that there was nothing ulterior behind his behaviour.
“C’mon man, gimme something solid.” You softly churned, smile warm and pupils doey.
Cerulean eyes stared back at you with intrigue but you didn’t know how to receive his approach. But once you felt Giorno’s thumb endearingly rub at your skin, you knew he was finally going to be serious with you.
“I like girls that pregame with me on top of their bed whilst we wait for our other friend to get here so he can drive us to dead parties.” He humbly mumbled.
Embarrassingly, it took you awhile to catch the hint Giorno was throwing you, eyebrows profusely furrowed with mild confusion. But it’s when you finally caught on, that your eyes widened with shock.
“Wait, oh…You—Giorno.”
The blonde held his tongue from replying straight away. More so because his heart was hammering against his chest, and he’s so sure you could hear it too, but even more so because he wanted to know your immediate reply.
But despite the confession, you felt oddly calm. A part of you knew you were supposed to feel a certain way because you’re really good friend had just revealed to you that you were his ideal type.
Or did he?
Knowing how much of a tease Giorno could be, you wondered if it was just that he was baiting you with.
Pouting, you questioned his casual confession.
“You better not just be saying that as a joke.” You unsurely asked.
Shaking his head, the blonde assured you else wise. You didn’t miss how his hands clasped onto yours tighter.
“No, I give you my word. I meant what I said. You’re genuinely my ideal type.” He muttered the last part.
Breathing heavily out of your nose you had to close your eyes for a second. You hadn’t planned or readied yourself for a confession tonight. Hell, you’d prepared for a rubbish party — not for one of your greatest friends to tell you… this.
A long whine made it’s way out of your throat as you covered your eyes with your other arm.
“Giogio, why didn’t you say something sooner, man? Why is it only now that I’ve asked you your type that you confess this to me?”
Despite your whine, the Joestar knew you were doing anything but.
Giorno gave you a pleasant smile as he raised your joined hands to his lips, giving the partnership an impromptu kiss on your side. Your skin flickered with the aftertouch of his kiss once he dropped your hands back onto his chest.
“How else was I going to tell you? Blurt it out in a raw confession in front of everyone we know? You don’t like that typa stuff.”
With a face of denial you removed your arm from your eyes as you hummed sarcastically.
“Uhm. How do you know that’s not what I’d want?”
“Because I know you.” He instantly quipped.
“Because you know me?”
“Mhm.”
All you could do was sigh humorously. Maybe the alcohol was getting to your head because how was this happening right now and how were you so casual about it?!
“Giorno, you’re so silly.” You cutely cooed as a giggle unapprovingly trickled out of your mouth.
The Joestar couldn’t help but to watch over you with a joy that he knows he hadn’t felt before. Maybe you did have a point; why did it take so long for him to confess to you?
A part of him felt ashamed that it was you who had to spark that journey in him. He hadn’t even cared that you were yet to confess back — and he wouldn’t force that of you; you had no obligation to feel the same way. But there was something churning at Giorno’s chest, nudging at his heart that assured him that wasn’t something he had to worry about.
All he wanted to do right now was embask in this moment with you, pregame or not.
“Maybe.” He mumbled. Your eyes were very pretty. Also, since when did your face get this close? “But you like em’ silly.”
Laughing again, you couldn’t help but to watch Giorno’s face with full intent of communicating a speechless message.
Squeezing his hand, you huffed aloud.
“Shit, you really do know me.”
(Sixteen minutes later, Mista arrives at your front door in a bounty of condolences, apologising profusely for his tardiness.
It then took him seven more minutes to notice how the two of you were intimately holding hands and staring enchantedly into each other’s eyes.)
