Lemmie just set down some of Yukari Law headcanons bc i’m horrible and love the Koi to Uso premise
It’s confirmed that many children are  signed to participate in the law at birth by their parents, so I’d assume it’s pretty rare for someone to not be signed up by the time their teens. I feel like a child should be able to opt out when they’re of a legal age, but by then it’s pretty much too late unless their parents do it for them
Despite being an arranged marriage law, they do not provide rings! I mean you can request one, though that’s only reserved for that of a poorer status who can’t rlly afford rings. You’re not really required to wear rings, either.
Those who live in different points of the country are required to visit the demonstrations or seminars, getting complimentary transportation (sometimes even days off to ‘visit’ if you request it). They’re also more urged to live together after high school, or go to the same universities
OK but wouldn’t it be funny if you’d get a discount at love hotels if you show that your assigned partners at the desk????? like y o
Sex positivity ftw when it comes to assigned couples is a canon thing---People will be super confused (or even tease you) if you’re still a virgin by the end of the year of you being assigned. In fact, it’s kind of 50/50 when it comes to being a virgin by the time you’re assigned.
There is required sex-ed, but it’s more about taking care of your own body than preventing anything due to the fact you’re expected to only have one partner for the rest of your life. But u need healthy bbies so education for everyone!
Despite not being too public about it, its still very common for fans to be heavily :( with the idea of their celebrities getting married/having sex (unless their av actors or those who have the image of being sensual). You can see the massive dissatisfaction on the internet and comment forums.
Thus, celebrities or idols tend to marry in their later twenties as business moves, or rejecting their partners. Opting out can be very hit or miss depending on it’s impact to your career, so that’s only an option for the most confident.
I don’t care what the manga says, I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED if the Law and it’s loopholes are manipulated by the 1%. I believe they bend it’s weakspots to fit their agendas idgaf there’s no such thing as the rich not getting their way somehow
Because their public/government figures, I feel like the Yukari Law officials are very adverse to covering up scandals as quickly as possible. Thus, the love/sex scandals you see getting leaked are most commonly from non-law marriages or relationships.
Though it’s definitely not common, running out of the country to avoid marrying is very rare in both examples and public knowledge, thus causing it to be a grey area.
The Yukari Law only reaches Japan, it’s very likely to run off to another country.
Once again, higher government or rich people may be able to bend the rules  and get this covered up to save face.
It’s not ‘illegal’ persay, but you WILL be redlisted by the government. Coming back to Japan will result in an unknown outcome; thus many who chose to run off with lovers feel like they cannot go back, rarely contacting family members.
Disowning those who run away or elope is actually very common when it comes to generational Yukari Law families, viewing them as disappointments
Those who strive for careers in the military tend to either get paired up exactly at 16 or at a much, much later time, being the only ‘obvious’ trend. Many who desire these careers tend to be paired up with people who desire the same profession, or those who are loyal by default and are willing to wait for them.
Untimely death of a partner is not something people think about tbh
You’re not required to remarry/repair if you’ve already had a child with your partner before their death, but you could request another Yukari-appointed partner.
Death before a child is a very grey area, but tend to be treated as those above.
Due to the reasons for the Yukari Law in the first place, it does not cater or make exceptions when it comes to sexuality.
Same-sex clubs are even more heavily frowned upon, often lead in secret and not to public knowledge for the sake of saving face.
Host clubs and the like are at a very grey area compared to the one above.
You’d think that redlight districts aren’t a big thing but bOY U’D BE WRONG.
People usually get their notices at 16 through 20, with an age-gap limit of four years, though it’s very rare for a couple to meet that gap limit. It’s also rare for someone to get their notice past 20.
Canonly, girls usually get their notice at 16, so it’s a rarity for the to get theirs at the age limit.
It’s confirmed that it’s very rare for a male to be theirs at 16, which makes me assume that they get theirs around 17 to 19.
Infidelity is not a topic that comes up often, though it’s said to be not allowed, and you could get a penalty for it. That is, if you get caught by your representatives.
Because many people are paired up at a young age without having the experience of dating other people, I expect that infidelity is more likely common than one would think. “By accident”
Emotional cheating could actually more sought out than physical cheating! While physical cheating may cause a child out of marriage, emotions could cause divorce or elopement, which is publicity the Law does not want. Neither do you tbh.
Because there’s a massive emphasis of children, I suspect that the law may hold a secret "look away” policy to bastard children. God knows the percentage of bastard children who are passed off as children of marriage---if it’s found out, that is.
It’s kind of an unspoken assumption that most people working in “unsavory” industries are those who rejected their Yukari Law partners, or are married to another of the same profession.
Foreigners who just move have the option to sign themselves up for the Yukari Law, though aren’t socially expected to. Those who are there only for work or schooling visas are not expected or allowed to sign up due to their unstable position, unless they plan on living in Japan.
Though there are still chances of getting paired up with a ’half’ (Example: Lilina or her father having some German blood), getting paired with a full-blooded foreigner is still pretty rare!
Marriages under Yukari Law that consists of a foreigner are a very low percentage, often happening ‘naturally’ and sometimes being considered an example of elopement.
Though not ever a topic talked about, some suspect that the Yukari Law’s system tends to be more focused on racial purity. Representatives say that’s not the case, though, as looks or ethnicity are not put into consideration.
Divorce, though rare under Yukari Law, does happen. It’s very shocking to many, often causing confusion.
Though divorce is heavily frowned upon, there’s no law allowing your divorce to be the reason for demotion / getting fired. But there’s no law protecting you from being being shat on for being failures, either.
Divorce seems to be a little more ‘alright’ if there’s a child that came from the marriage.
Due to the Yukari Law not keeping up with the electronic times, so online flings are VERY common due to the thought process of it ‘not being real’.
