Finished my third session of my college campaign. The Entrance exams worked exactly how i wanted. Each character got a time to shine without putting life or death worry in them. The multiple combats at once was fun and allowed to have multiple narratives occur at once. If you ever do something similar (running two disparate but simultaneous combats) I recommending adding like 40 to the initiatives of one of the combats so that all the turns for a combat happen together and you aren't jumping back and forth. Of course all the players passed the exam! I'm very excited for them to get to the actual school part of the campaign. The entrance exams had 3 different combats so I used that to introduce new characters (specifically their classmates) and although they beat all of them I think it established some character dynamics. I wish I could have had them lose a little but Level 1 balancing is difficult. I also forgot to give them XP... WHOOPS. I need to get used to that.
