-> Platonic! Burning Spice Cookie x reader
-> Warnings: Spoilers for Beast Yeast chapter 6, mentions of major character death, mentions of death
-> Word count: 966
-> waaaahahahahhaaa thank youuuuu <<33!! Not gonna lie, this was super challenging to do! Figuring out what Burning Spice would do as a character, and also his dialogue, was super difficult, but really fun! I hope you enjoy, Anon! This fic is a direct part two to this, so to understand this fic, please read the other one!
─── ✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───
Whispers in cracked corridors.
Rumors within dusty floors.
Stories spun along the breeze.
“Have you heard about the child Lord Destroyer’s been keeping?” Purple tail swaying, brushing against the owner’s fur.
“Yes…” Tongue flickering between fangs. “I have, but nobody’s allowed to see them, not even the general.”
“Well, I’ve seen the thing once, through the crack of their room door.”
“Really? What did they look like?”
“Weak.” A grunt. “Puny. If not protected, they would not survive even a second in this land.”
“Impossible! Why would The Great Destroyer allow a weak thing in his temple? There must be something about that child, if he's keeping it.”
“That’s what I’m thinking, too! Our lord prohibits any sort of interaction with that weakling, keeping them barred in there like a princess, so why does he have something like that?”
“Hmph. I’m not sure. Possibly untapped potential?”
“Plausible, but Lord Destroyer is not the kind of beast to recruit somebody for that…”
Red paws tapping against the floor, followed by a bark, “Are you two questioning Our Lord’s choices?”
The two squeak, “G- General-!”
“You both,” The Nutmeg Tiger growls, “I will not hear another word from either of you. The Great Destroyer’s thinking is something both of you cannot possibly comprehend, and for you to even try and grasp it is almost laughable. This could very well go for treason!”
“General, we weren’t meaning to go for treason-”
“Do not speak when you are spoken to, weakling!”
Purple mouth snaps shut, red eyes narrowing in almost defiance.
The tiger centaur pays no mind to it, instead choosing to continue. “Whatever Our Lord is doing, surely has reason behind it. I will not stand for you two questioning his divine plans. Is that clear?”
“Yes....” This time, the Cilantro Cobra speaks. “Our… apologies, general. We won’t do this next time…”
“Hmph.” A huff, “I hope you don’t. The Great Destroyer’s ideas are much greater than you lowlives.”
Burning Spice has no idea what he’s doing.
He should’ve killed you.
He should’ve crumbled your existence.
He should’ve laid waste to your form like he did before, once again leaving behind what he loved.
Yet, with his paranshu raised above his head, your eyes fearfully staring at the bright thing…
“Baba, baba!”
He remembers those same eyes looking up at him, as if he had hung up the stars themselves; your sweet voice calling for him as your bare feet violently pad over to reach their father.
God.
He couldn’t do it.
He couldn’t do it.
Burning Spice couldn’t kill his child.
No matter how much he wanted to, his body could not follow his command.
So what does he do now?
Burning Spice cannot kill you, so perhaps he could kick you out of here?
No, the spice storms will tear you apart.
If he lets you wander, his troops will reave your being.
Why does he care so much?!
His head has this horrible ache from all this thinking, so to make the confusing part of his brain happy, and to make this pain disappear, he sends you away.
To be more specific, he locks you in a room to which only a few cooks can come in to place food far away from you. Now, some part of him will be content, and also, he can stop looking at your pathetic self.
It takes months before he’s able to face you again.
Months before the Beast has to stop facing the present, and turn back to the past.
“Child.” Water hitting the sandy floors, he speaks. “Are you bored?”
…huh?
Sitting in front of this unfamiliar man, to the question, you pause.
Months of being held captive, with nobody except your own thoughts to keep you company, and when your captor speaks to you, it’s… this?
“Excuse?” You cannot help but ask for clarification, wondering if somehow you misheard.
To your question, though, the Beast’s eyes twitch. “I asked-” The sand starting to dry out- “if you are bored, child.”
Bored?
You heard right, which… only confuses you further.
“I am… confused on what you mean?”
“Do you need entertainment?” The desert is no longer blessed by the gentle touch of the rain, but it is not angry. “I presume that sitting in a room with nothing but your thoughts to occupy yourself is boring.”
Why is he asking that?
If you need entertainment?
What’s his goal?
You decide to echo your thoughts: “Why… are you asking that-?”
Only to be met with a scowl, lips pulling back to reveal sharp teeth, the yellow things glinting off of the little light in the room. His eyes are narrowed, lashes blanketing red irises, barely concealing his fury. Soon, though, as if he saw something in your face, the creature forces his expression to flatten, a hand coming up to pinch the bridge of his nose. “I would prefer-” he growls after a few seconds. “To not answer that question. All you need to know is if you’re bored. Is that clear?”
…huh… best not to press.
“Good. Now, answer my question: are you bored or not?”
“I… guess so, yes.”
Being stuck in a room for months on end, with nothing to do is not… fun, at all.
“Then what entertainment do you wish for?”
Entertainment?
You blink.
What entertainment is there? Actually, why is he asking if I must be entertained? Mm… I feel like I shouldn’t ask that.
“Conversation with you?” You eventually request, “I’d like to ask a few questions as to where I am.”
The beast’s nostrils flare, a corner of his lips twitching, but he acquiesces. “Alright. But if there is anything I do not wish to divulge, I shall not. Is that fair?”
Huh.
How easy.
Once again, you nod.
He's not being violent in me towards any way, and he hasn't made me do anything... if so, then why's he keeping me here against my will?
What does he want from you?

HoO redo-rodeo
So I've been having a lot of thoughts about HoO characters that I'm never going to get around to Actually Writing, so here we go:
The 7 demigods of prophecy being an uneven mix of Greek and Roman annoyed me, so here we have:
Greek: Percy, Annabeth, Piper
Roman: Jason, Hazel, Frank
Nonhuman: Leo
PERCY
The Ascendant Godling.
His character arc is him unknowingly becoming a god, slowly drifting away from the mortal perspective, burning up his mortality faster and faster, sacrificing the last of it to strike the finishing blow to Gaea.
Keeps the Achilles Curse and we get to see it acting as a curse, how it cripples his stamina outside of active combat with adrenaline to keep him going. Needs so much more sleep and food, but while on the streets takes ambrosia/nectar to keep awake and moving.
Starts ending fights faster becauase he can't afford to draw them out with talking or negotiation, so falls into lethal intensity survival mode very quickly.
Arrives at Camp Jupiter earlier (timelines are messy anyways, but he should spend more time at Camp Jupiter before the Quest). I just want actual description of the bathhouse, the infrastructure, the routines and attitudes. I want to know what makes the Greeks and Romans different!
Goes by Perseus, because that's what monsters and gods know him as. Also for fun omens about being The Destroyer.
Camp Jupiter assumes they're being tested at first, but then assume that he's a god made mortal so Reyna claims his service for the Legion. She sends him on the Quest under Frank as his Task.
Becaue he's Greek, a very powerful unknown demigod older than the usual initiative and unknowingly becoming a god, he's uncomfortable with the crowds of Roman demigods and legacies, so spends a lot of time in the Temples and quiet places talking to naiads and fawns. Maybe he gets offered training as a priest? Builds the understanding of Octavian's huge political power as Augur.
Gains understanding of the difference between Greek and Roman aspects, so while after Thanatos is freed from chains, he deliberately summons Roman form Letus (more warlike) with a tribute of the souls of the Ghost Legion to help kill the Giant Alceonyus.
ANNABETH
The Powerless Demigod, the Strategist.
The only one without a clearly divine power, but she's spent her life training to make up the difference. Athena Cabin pours over battle plans and mythology books, anything to get an edge. She doesn't get magic weaving powers, but they all learn and practise weaving to honour their Mother's domain. Big ephasis in Athena Cabin of Athena always being the best and the wisest and Right and that whould never be questioned (which drove initial conflict with Percy in first series over parent's rivalry). Put a lot of stock in making Athena proud of her.
Character arc: after being disowned, forced onto a suicide quest that's killed countless siblings before her while on a world-saving deadlined Great Prophecy Quest, with her only magic support disenchanted... Annabeth becomes disillusioned with Athena as a goddess and a mother (because love and respect are earned, not entitled by blood... and with the example of Sally during interactions while searcing for Percy...). She disavows herself as a Child of Athena.
After Gaea: maybe she becomes a priestess to Percy after designing him a temple. Joins Jason as architect to his Potifex Maximus duties, eventually made Immortal as Architect of Olympus (because there's no way she finished redesigning Olympus in the months between the Titan War ending and Percy disappearing).
Tartarus: during the fall, she blindly sews together some of Arachne's tapasteries in the pitch blakcness to make them a parachute to halp survive the landing.
PIPER
The Titan Army Traitor.
Maybe she never got taken to Camp, maybe she did and immediately ran away from it that night or the next day rather than stay at the Hermes Distaster Relief Shelter Cabin. Either way, she gets picked up by the Titan Army cause. People who help her, train her, sympathise with feeling abandoned by the gods to the mercy of monsters. They don't have much, but they're fighting for a better world. They're family. Then things start to change; Luke becomes more Kronos and demigods start to go missing, some on Missions, some to shadowy corners and the satisfied grins of the monsters who were also angry at the gods and should be their allies. Maybe she even met Selena a few times fro Charmspeak training and listened to her sister share her worries and doubts about the Cause... then the Princess Andromeda blows up and she realises the other side are aiming to kill opposing demigods just the same as monsters. She runs before the Battle of Manhattan.
In Lost Hero, she doesn't get immediately Claimed at Camp and knows exactly why. While no one is looking, sacrifices something precious to her to Aphrodite, maybe with a vow of loyalty or something? She is very, very afraid of the gods.
Character alteration: Mean Girl. She puts on a defensive mask of vanity and sensuality, learned for the cameras and honed under the expectations of the Aphrodite Child stereotype. Runs cons with Leo as the face of the opperation, uses perfuumes to hide demigod scent.
Arc: learning to let down her walls and trust the team to have her back. Also, an earned (on both sides) reconicilliation with Aphrodite.
Embodies Aphrodite Areia, the war aspect of her mother's domain. Uses a spear and wears her cabin's enchanted pink armour. Maybe she also gets Katoptris, but parallels of Selena by training with Clarisse for the spear.
Abilities: Charmspeak, empath & emotional manipulation, voice mimicry and minor visual shapeshifting ability (ie. Mystique) for physical features (semi-involuntary with emotional surges, anger makes her teeth sharpen and nails grow points etc.). Innate sailing affinity as part of Aphrodite's domains, a way to connect with Percy.
JASON
The Olymian Champion.
A messy mix of feral wolf and absolute rule stickler. Was raised by Lupa and then learned how to be in human society through the Legion, through the lense of that being human pack dynamics. Human: polite, controlled, often wearing a small smile with no teeth, opperates by strict rules with Reyna offering the more flexible alernative. More than a bit OCD.
Puts the expectations of others above his personal desires and is pushed to be a puppet of the gods. Hera's Champion, Eagle Child of the God King Jupiter, Wolf Cub of Lupa (claimed as her child like Romulus and Remus, calls her mother). Blesing of Lupa gives him slightly pointed ears and teeth.
Appearance: platinum blonde hair that's almost like white lightning, electric blue eyes that glow when using powers, always carries glasses in a special armoured case and is farsighted (because he focuses too much on the bigger picture to see the immediate),
Arc: learning to live life outside of the rulebook. Letting out more wolfish behaviour and being comfortable in himself.
Conflict with Percy as caught between human knowledge of 'powerful stranger of a foreign pantheon' as a threat to protect the Pack against... and wolf instinct subconsciously recognising Baby God with Roman conditioning to kneel in deference.
HAZEL
The Living Ghost.
She came back to life, but spent decades dead and in Asphodel, so different from two-second deaths of Gwen and Jason. Hazel is a dead soul in a living body.
Physical: cold to the touch and always absolutely silent. Someone next to her hears her take a breath before speaking and is unsettled to realise they heard it because it's almost like he wan't breathing before (she was, but less than a normal human and completely inaudibly). She watches others with an like a owl-like unblinking stillness, a dark form with glowing eyes like an inverse of her father's sacred barn owl. I kind of also want her skin to be cracked through with veins of immortal gold, because her body was remade to return to life, not just resiscitated, so she would have early practice with manipulating the Mist to look normal.
Emotional: Quiet and kind but ruthless, strongly justice-oriented. Visciousness is its own mercy, especially in combat. Makes a judgement and cannot be swayed from her ruling, but is fair in learning all the contextual information before making decisions about people. A step out of rhythm with the rest of the living.
Hazel's Curse: Thanatos' chains are made out of Stygian Iron and Stygian Ice (frozen Styx water), which tries to rip her dead soul from her living body, freezes her hand to the chain. Frank sacrifices some of his life to her (via stick) to melt her hand off the chain, lighting up her gold-veins with blinding light and breaking her Curse (I just want them holding hands and glowing the gold of gods, this couple of a mortal and a ghost).
Abilities: Pluto domains over earth riches, death and agriculture. Cannon abilities, but after SoN wears cuff bracelets inlaid with gem shards that she can pull out and whip around like a deadly ribbon of shrapnel. Being semi/formerly dead, Hazel has a heightened sense for living things, extending to something agricultural (idk, but would be useful against Gaea, yeah?).
Weapon: Scythe, weapon of Proserpina (Persephony) and death connotations. Would just be cool to have her on Arion with a scythe like a golden Grim Reaper and it diversifies the weapons in the 7.
FRANK
The Cursed Legacy.
Frank is a 4th gen Legacy whose paternal Great Grandfather was a demigod son of Mars, but also secretly Legacy of Poseidon by his maternal ancestor Shen Lun.
Frank is essentially mortal.
He can't have any amborsia or nectar, but can carefully use the Roman alternative cures like unicorn draught.
His family has good social standing in the Legion by four generations of service and Frank has been trained since childhood to be able to keep up with first-gen demigods in combat and uphold the honour of Mars to the Legion. Would not be an outcast if he wasn't friends with Hazel, but he chose her over social standing/reputation.
The stick: since Shen Lun (and his dishonourable Legion discharge), every member of his line has been born with one. Using the shapeshifting ability directly correlates to it 'burning' by dissolving in golden light. It also turns strands of hair white like the effect of holding the Sky.
There's not enough divinity in his body to handle the power in his blood, but his family blames the ancestral dishonour. Every use kills him a little bit more, but is it dishonourable to prioritise selfish survival over the safety of his comrades? The survival of the Quest?
LEO
The Fading Spirit, the Healer.
Leo is a daimon (immortal spirit with power varying from satyr to minor god like Thanatos), a rustic fire spirit called a Dactyl (insert dinosaur jokes here). Predate satyrs and oreads, male counterpart to Hekaterides and often conflated with Kouretes. Species has almost entirely Faded into extinction.
Dactyls are ancient smiths and healing magicians, mostly associated with Hephaestus like satyrs are with Dionysus, but some individuals with others (like Paionios with Asclepius) always in a supporting role. Children of Anchiale, titanness of the warming heat of fire.
Pretends to be a demigod, disguised by Piper's perfume from Coach Hedge, after praying to Hephaeustus gets Claimed by him as a patron. Leo is Sammy and knew Hazel, protected her from monsters, left Alaska after her death, still has the diamond she gave him.
Abilities: metalworking, fire, maths, cannon abilities, healing and wild dancing.
Role: support role and essentially non-combatant, as no natural fighting ability/instinct like demigods. Engineer on the Argo II and team healer
Calypso: Leo has a lot of life experience all around the world, remebers Olympus being in different places and can catch her up of the world she's missed. By the end of the Quest, Leo is no longer in danger of Fading, Calypso is still immortal and their being together is a more equal deal.
Epilogue:
List of Immortals by the end of the series:
Percy (god), Annabeth (similar to Ariadne), Leo (daimon, but partnering with Calypso would become more level with minor god than satyr).
Other characters: Calypso, Grover (Lord of the Wild), Thalia (Huntress), Tyson, Bob and Damasen eventually.
Possibly Hazel and Frank, acting as soul guides/ psychopomps, otherwise Elysium. Possibly Jason for services as Pontifex Maximus in reviving belief of minor and/or Fading gods and daimons, but he'd probably prefer going to Elysium than staying with the Gods forever. Piper... I can't think of a significant divine link, so probably to Elysium. The immortal among the 7 would visit the Underworld souls, of course.

🫧🪼Rivers of Divinity: Names of Rukminī from Her Sahasranāma
Tumblr media
Sarayū (सरयू); The River of Infinite Merit
Sarayū, a river originating from the Himalayas, is revered as a celestial stream that grants boundless satisfaction to the ancestors (Pitṛs). The Skanda Purāṇa glorifies its sanctity, stating that a mere visit to Sarayū bestows merit greater than performing rāddha at Gayā. It is said that:
Staying in Ayodhyā, the city of Rāma, in the Kali Yuga grants the same merit as performing Śrāddha at Gayā & visiting Jagannātha Purī. Bathing in Sarayū is as auspicious as residing in Mathurā for a Kalpa. Its sanctity equals the merits obtained by observing holy rituals in Puṣkara & Prayāga during the months of Māgha or Kārttika. A single glimpse of Sarayū confers the same divine merit as staying in Avantī for countless Kalpas.
Even a fleeting moment spent in Rāma’s sacred city during Kali Yuga is equivalent to sixty thousand years of bathing in the Ganga. Such is the immeasurable divinity of Sarayū, a river embodying the grace & purity of Rukmini herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Candrabhāgā (चन्द्रभागा) ; The Moon-Blessed Stream
Candrabhāgā, a river mentioned in the Padma Purāṇa & Nīlamata Purāṇa, is a celestial stream imbued with the cool, purifying essence of the moon’s rays. The Padma Purāṇa declares that:
Those who bathe in Candrabhāgā daily are exceptionally meritorious. Worshiping Lord Śiva at Candrabhāgā’s other bank, where he is venerated as Candreśvara, eradicates sins & grants divine blessings.
The Nīlamata Purāṇa further extols its sanctity:
Candrabhāgā is eternally pure, but its holiness reaches its peak on the 13th day of the bright fortnight in the month of Māgha, when all sacred waters—including oceans and lakes—converge upon it. The river is said to have descended from the locks of Lord Śiva, torn forth by the moon god (Candra), thus earning the name Candrabhāgā.
As Rukminī is the moon-like radiance of Śrī Krishna, so too does this river reflect her cooling, purifying grace upon all who seek refuge in its waters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Suparṇā (सुपर्णा); The Divine Protector
The Skanda Purana narrates the tale of Suparṇelā, a sacred river near the Bhairavi shrine, south of Durga-Kūṭa. This river derives its sanctity from a celestial event:
When Amṛta (nectar of immortality) was safeguarded near the Nāgas, the river Suparṇelā emerged as its divine protector. The land surrounding it is called Ilā, & the river was established by Suparna, making it a pāpanāśinī—a destroyer of sins.
Suparṇelā, like Rukminī, stands as a guardian of divine nectar, a sacred force of protection & purity, bestowing liberation upon those who honor her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bhīmarathī (भीमरथी) – The River That Strikes Fear in Sins
Bhimarathi, one of the sacred rivers originating from the Sahya mountains, is mentioned in several Puranas as a stream of immense spiritual power:
The Agni Purāṇa lists it alongside other sacred rivers such as Tāpī, Payoṣṇikā, Godavari, & Kṛṣṇaveṇī, highlighting its divine origin. The Mahabharata describes Bhīmarathī as a river teeming with life, home to birds & deer, & graced by the hermitages of great ascetics. It is said to possess the power to destroy both sin & fear. The Padma Purāṇa proclaims that Bhīmarathī always instills fear in sins, making it a river of unparalleled sanctity, capable of washing away impurities of the soul.
Like Bhīmarathī, Rukminī too is a force of divine justice—her grace destroys fear, removes negativity, & grants liberation to her devotees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Veṇikā (वेणिका) – The Sacred Stream of Celestial Unions
Venika, a river mentioned in the Varaha Purana, is counted among the seven great rivers of Śākadvīpa. Its sanctity is further emphasized in other Purāṇic texts:
The Śiva Purāṇa narrates that Veṇikā, along with Godavari, Yamuna, & Brahmastrī, attended the divine wedding of Shiva & Pārvatī, signifying its celestial importance. The Mahābhārata (Bhīṣma Parva, Chapter 11) praises Veṇikā as a river of immense holiness, its waters carrying the power of divine blessings
Veṇikā symbolizes sacred unions & divine presence—much like Rukmini, who embodies the eternal consort of Shri Krishna, the union of love and devotion.
In Rukminī Sahasranāma, names like Sarayū, Candrabhāgā, and Suparṇā reflect her divine essence—bestowing merit, radiating celestial grace, and guarding the nectar of immortality. Just as these rivers nourish the land, Rukminī nourishes the soul, guiding devotees toward purity, devotion, & eternal bliss.

Festivals
The Deipnon a monthly festival held on every last day lunar month (29th or 30th), the ancient Greeks based their days on the lunar cycle when the sun sets that’s where when a new day begins rather the sun rising. She would be offered at crossroads and shrines. Time of purification of the household but also honouring the restless dead. That includes a great meals (dinners of Hekate) placing on crossroads for the dead a modern way to do this is called a “dummy dinner” which someone will put a plate of food down at a empty spot on the dinner table. Helios would also be included. Also can offer at graves.
Noumenia (New moon) is the celebration of the new lunar month on the first day called Noumenia as I said a new day starts when the sunsets. Hekate’s Deipnon is held on the last day of this festival and the last day of the month. Not only Hekate is involved but other household gods. Both festivals were held on the (Dark Moon)
Kleidos Agoge the first new moon of spring it was held at Lagina in Turkey that involved her key symbolism the meaning “Procession of the Key” where her sacred key be carried to the center of town, offerings like games, hymns, and songs were made to Hekate.
Mythology/General history
Hekate is a very mysterious but important divine goddess in Greek mythology but also religion even outside. Her origins at least her earliest known history is found in Thrace and Anatolia (modern day Turkey) as a lunar goddess of wildlife and childbirth but the Greeks adopted her into their culture and religions where we find more evidence on how to worship and see how she was seen in ancient society. Hekate the name means “worker from afar” or “far-reaching one” her name is often are epithets of Apollo and Artemis.
She was commonly had shrines in households as being a protector of households (Epiteichea) a guardian and overseer the shrine being place near doorways especially coming in and out of the house or corners she was to protect the house and family from witchcraft and the evil eye. But she had shrines at the crossroads (Enodia) which she is seen very commonly in Ancient Greece. Hekate wasn’t a goddess but a Titan who ruled over both Sky, Earth, and Sea. She aided the gods during the great war of Titan and Gods when it was over Zeus won and granted Hekate her to rule her share of domains out of great honour and respect. But in Ancient Greeks mostly saw her as a chthonic goddess of the underworld and earthly but they still acknowledged her other aspects celestial and of the sea.
Family
Her parentage in Mythology is interesting and not certain, it’s said that she was the daughter of Perses (destroyer) and her mother is Asteria (Falling stars and night divination) some say it was Zeus and Asteria, or Nyx being her mother. But most believe that is likely that Perses is her father certainly another epithet was Persis (destroyer, Child of Perses). Now Hekate is a virgin goddess meaning she won’t ever marry or have natural born children however there has been instances in the myths of where she has “children” like Medea and Circe who most people believe which is very likely that their referring to “follower or servant” to Hekate. But it is said that she was the grandmother or mother of the sea monster Scylla. Though she often seen as a virgin goddess it does say she might have a few lovers.
Significant myths and pairings
Circe and Medea, often described as “daughters of Hekate.” You can find them in the Odyssey where Circe is a enchantress and turns Odysseus men into swine. Medea who was the wife of Jason famously evoked and sacrificed to Hekate Brimo which made appearance to Jason which he became afraid Brimo is Hekate’s terrible and angry aspect.
The abduction of Presphone and aiding Demeter, when Presphone was kidnapped by Hades and taken to the underworld Demeter was distraught and grief stricken she ask the gods if they known anything about what happen to Presphone but they know not of where she gone. But Hekate step forward saying she heard the cries of Presphone and Helios seeing the abduction. Now Hermes is also very heavily involved in this story but often Hekate and Hermes were seen together, either in the story or one of them but both are correct and valid since the ancients saw them as psychopomps. Hekate guides Presphone out of the underworld carrying two twin torches always facing Presphone to make sure she is following her.
Tumblr media
Hecuba, the Queen of Troy and Wife of King Priam the mother of Hector and Paris. After the war of Troy after witnessing her children’s and husband’s deaths it wrecked Hecuba’s life. She became enslaved and grief stricken by the deaths of her children. There is many myths of how she ended up as Hekate’s companion, one was she threw herself into the sea but then transformed into a dog but buried in a wretched place called “dog’s grave” called Kynsossema, when she was enslaved to Odysseus she barked and snarled at him like a dog thus transforming into one and escaping, another after seeing her youngest son and daughter killed she began barking like a dog. But accounts of her transforming into a dog she was rescued by Hekate who became her canine companion ever since.
Hekate and Helios, this pairing is interesting occurrence throughout the myths of Hekate minus Hecuba. Helios is present in some way or other in myths with Hekate, as Helios being the grandfather of Medea or the actual father of Circe even being releated to Hekate as he is the grandfather of her through Perses. Scholars say this is a depiction of duality and balance like light and dark, life and death, etc. It never says explicitly of why they are often pair but it clearly shows they have a strong connection and association.
Hermes and Hekate, both when in their Chthonic aspects are often paired together, at crossroads, being psychopomps, blessing travelers and messengers. Both being consorts (companion wise). Hermes is also a known household deity as well. Considered to be sacred pairings a dualistic connection and often Hermes has associations with dogs especially with animal husbandry and shepherds. A famous Aesop fable is when a dog approaches Hermes’s temple.
Hekate and Artemis, now these goddesses are very similar and confused to be the one and the same sometimes but often they had the same attributes and domains. For instance both goddesses are associated with the moon, Artemis the actual moon and phrases but Hekate it seems to be the New moon or dark moon a singular phrase that lasts three days, both are maidens, both are depicted as huntresses seen in Hekate’s Orphic hymn and epithet, Artemis’s epithet was even Hekate, both share the epithet of Phosphorus, Artemis also bears torches, both have a strong connection to the wilds and earth, and both share attributes of protecting children and midwifery. Still doesn’t mean they are one and the same including Selene the Titaness of the moon. These goddesses are similar but entirely different because yes they may have used same names and attributes but it doesn’t mean they are one in the same best to keep in mind about that. Parentage is different, attributes are not the exact same, nor their history and how the ancient saw them as. Artemis and Diana are used interchangeably but Artemis is Hekate are not for various reasons.
Triple Goddess
The most common and important depiction when one sees or hears about Hekate is that she is a triple goddess for good reason so what is Hekate’s triple form and what is the purpose of it.
Trimorphis or Triformis (Three-formed or body) is an epithet of Hekate that is depicted with Hekate with three bodies or faces one facing straight and the other two facing the opposite directions it is linked to her Enodian aspect Trioditis or three ways, of cross roads. Imagine the figure of the letter T it depicts a crossroads that is three ways. It represents her domain over liminal spaces and crossroads, but also her triple form is associated with her domains of Earth, Sea, and Sky also aspects of life, death, and rebirth. Ovid described her as Triceps or three-formed, The poet Lycophron describes Hekate having three necks, many depictions within ancient sculptures and art. In this aspect she helps with banishing ghosts and evil spirits and magic. As well a guide and proctor of roads. The Number 3 is often associated with her because of the three formed aspect.
What Hekate is compared to Neopagan idea of Triple goddess.
Huge discussion of how Hekate is associated with the triple goddess within neo-paganism often is Wiccan ideology called “Maiden, Mother, Crone” this concept is not ancient and it’s best to recognized that it was based off and nitpicked historical deities and religious traditions that created the idea of MMC. Hekate was NEVER referred to MMC because one she is a virgin goddess always a maiden, yes many followers including I refer to her as mother but not in the MMC context, two following that point she was never married or aged she is immortal and never described as being an older woman, nor that her triple form was three different goddesses. About the moon phrases, well that came from a neoplatoist poet named Porphyry who made her to be a triple moon goddess. Neoplatonism is complex but it is centred around monism which is basically all that is derived from a single principle called “the One” Porphyry was a philosopher and poet not a religious man of Hekate who became obsessed with Hekate and Chaldean oracles and began to associate her with many different things like world soul and moon phrases, even being a creator goddess without any evidence. Neoplatonism is essentially a philosophical thought build from Plato’s teachings mixed with Christianity and Judaism even Islamic thoughts. I’m not an expert on this I’m sure someone can better explain than I can but what I’m getting at is that Hekate with the lunar goddess which yes she is partially associated with the moon as in (New Moon) but she is not with the whole triple forms meaning triple moons it’s based off a philosophy that has no merit other than it was nitpicked from hher mythology and traditions not a religious or mythical background in her origins or even mysteries. It’s not historical nor recognize by the ancient Greeks or Romans of this school of thought. I’m not trashing Neoplatonism but just saying that the whole “world soul” and Anima Mundi titles and lunar/creation goddess was a much later interpretation of Hekate which the Greeks or Romans never saw her as.
Hekate and Sorcery and Magic
My favorite topic so far, Hekate along with her triple goddess aspect she was often seen as the goddess of sorcery and necromancy. Yes she protected those from evil magic and the evil but much like how Apollo can bring plagues as well to stop them Hekate can help with spellcraft and spirit communication but before delving deep in her associations we must talk about what was Necromancy and Sorcery to the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Now the dead were sacred and the people of Greek and Roman societies did not want to disrespect them since they knew spirits can bring misfortune and curses. The Ancient Greeks feared Hades even avoid saying his name because it was feared it would bring death their way. Hades was not only a god but a place, though they feared it and him they still saw death as sacred and respected the dead and their journeys afterwards. Of course they worshipped Hades and Presphone during funeral rites and had shrines but he was not a popular god in Ancient times so they used other epithets instead of Hades. Hekate doesn’t bring death to those like Thanatos rather she guides them and is able to come and go through the underworld she not is a harbinger of death rather a escort for those who are lost in the underworld she would take in souls and be part of her horde of nymphs and unrestless spirits. But she was saw as a proctor of evil spirits and misfortune however there is a dark side to Hekate which the Greeks and Romans saw very taboo which was not only sorcery but also Necromancy which is quite blasphemous during those times. The Greeks and Romans though revered their dead saw dead bodies and blood as impurity and pollution of humans and a offense to the gods if you were to kill or offer a human sacrifice to the gods they will not be happy it was called Misama, Lyma is pollution of the natural world that regularly attaches to a human so even if you didn’t come in contact with dead bodies or blood or such, purification is still needed. But the Greeks weren’t so black and white on it though they still contact and work with the dead especially educated people or contacting actual necromancers for help with spirits. I’ve mention Circe and Medea as being sorceresses, Medea who is known to be excellent herbalist and Circe turning people into other animals or monsters all in connection with Hekate. What we know of mostly about Hekate and sorcery outside of myths is the Greek Magical Papyri (PGM) which is a collection of curse tablets of that were found with magical incantations, spells, and rituals with numerous gods found like Hermes Chthonios but common one was Hekate and Necromancy. Necromancy comes from the Greek words nerko (corpse) and mancy (prophecy or divination), in Greco-Roman mythology there are numerous accounts of heroes summoning the dead and speaking with them like Odysseus and his mother, Orpheus traveling to Hades and saving his lover, etc. But it’s spirit communication not reanimation of the body or resurrecting a body simply summoning and speaking to a earthly spirit for knowledge or deity. It’s not evil nor good just simply divination it’s not what today’s media portrayal of Necromancy. Necromancy can fall into what we call today ceremonial magic not so much of folk magic the rituals are very complex and structured I recommend you reading PGM if you’re interested. But how necromancy was done in ancient times and now are extremely different and illegal like grave robbing an epithet for Hekate is Tymboryenos (Grave digger, Grave robber). You’ll also find other rare epithets used in PGM like Hekate Arykia (Net, Weaver). However you can evoke Hekate during simple spirit work (Nekuia or Nekyia) or Kthonia for protection and allowance for spirits to speak to begin with necromancy doesn’t have to be elaborate like traditional necromancy in the ancient world if you don’t want to of course cause it does in involve lot of human remains and animal life.
Hekate and Witchcraft
Now Hekate traditionally wasn’t referred to goddess of witchcraft or Queen of Witches, because one The Greeks or Romans never used the term witch or witchcraft more like sorcery or sorceress which the Greeks saw very slanderous and disrespectful comparison to Theurgy or high magic. Use of spells and charms to do harm, hence the modern term is used for Hekate for witchcraft because of how similar it is to sorcery its low, earthly, and folk based. Now Hekate has always been associated with “Witchcraft” way before Wicca started because she was spread throughout many different cultures and traditions from Greece to England. Hekate has been involved in many folklore and legends because of her influence, cause Greek mythology was quite popular among modern Western Europeans plus Romans went to other places like England where shrines were dedicated to her or her counterpart (Trivia). Hekate soon merged with what the English saw as witches and witchcraft throughout history one is such of Clapham Hill near Chanctonbury Ring in South Downs, England. Ancient Neolithic site, an ancient hill fort early Bronze Age used for rituals or defense purposes but abandoned for 500 hundred years til the Romans came upon it building two temples that were Romano-Celtic. Some say it was used for the Druidic purposes, others the devil created the ring or hill but one story does stand out but it’s very close to the hill fort called Clapham Wood which says to be cursed by landowner named Robert Le Faulconer in 1228 who wanted to obtain a petition from a local parson but failed to do so, therefore he cursed the land in the name of Hekate. Clapham Wood is very mysterious and said to be extremely haunted with many missing persons and unexplained deaths but also very strange is that dogs go missing or end up being sick, strange sightings of humanoid figures that look like women screaming like women some people blame aliens but I personally believe it be of Hekate and her horde personally. I highly recommend reading the story it’s really interesting. Whether or not the legend is true Hekate has been spread outside of means of Greco-Roman myths and traditions as people spread of cultural exchange she began to adopt aspects like “Queen of Witches and Witchcraft”.
Witchcraft and Sorcery has associated with curses, healing, herbs, spell craft, folk magic, divination, etc. Is it wrong to associate her with witches and witchcraft no I personally don’t think so because it’s part of syncretism that evolved into the something very similar to the point she becomes synonymous with that term. From my personal experience she doesn’t mind it and is pleased with it.
Modern day
Now I touch upon the MMC aspect and that’s a very modern thing that was invented in Wicca not even in Celtic paganism in general but should you associate Hekate with MMC? Well I’m not your mother but from researching Hekate, the question is why do you see her MMC when she’s not associated with the concept. I don’t agree with it nor I think it’s appropriate but again I’m not your mother it’s your practice not mine but here’s some things I do incorporate in modern day practice.
Strophalos or Hekate’s wheel or Inyx wheel: It’s an ancient symbol but debated whether or not it was associated with Hekate however in modern Hekeaten Witchcraft many witches including myself associates Hekate with the wheel. I do believe it became her symbol overtime of her devoted followers. It’s not just a symbol but a ritual tool. But WHEELS in general have been associated with Hekate like Sun wheels and wheels with eight spokes, wheel images are stamped on temples of Hekate like Lagina in Turkey also amulets and other art forms. It’s ritual tool, spinning the wheel to attract something or someone to oneself or extent one self. It’s made from metal or other materials and held and spun on a string while the disc is spinning one would chant or pray as the disc spins. You can use just general wheels not Strophalos if that’s makes you more comfortable you can make your own Iynx as well.
Owls or other birds, birds aren’t historically associated with Hekate but birds like crows or owls can be messengers from Hekate. But keep in mind it’s based on your own experience lot of people are saying she is associated with crows or ravens or owls but historically she wasn’t. Just be aware of that fact you can associate aviary animals with her of course but I can see her sending messages and signs in forms of owls and such
Moon Phrases especially full moon, again she wasn’t historically associated with moon phrases except the dark moon however if you’re say into Moon magic I don’t see a reason not to include Hekate if you do work with her to be involved with the rituals again but you can base your rituals with lunar phrases if you wish to just not on the note she wasn’t worshipped or dedicated to phrases like the full moon but it can’t hurt to work or worship her during that time.
Again I’m not your mother I can’t dictate what you can or can’t do in your practice but be diligent in your practice with her. If you want to include her modern day symbols or rituals always ask why and always do research and ask questions don’t follow what a random TikTokker or even me on tumblr do your own research it’s free usually on online just cross reference and make your own judgements again I’m not an authority just spewing information.
Appendix:
Tarot didn’t exist during the Ancient Greek World (from my knowledge) at least RWS standard but I do associate my divination practice with her and dedicate decks to her even some tarot cards. This is my personal interpretation of the cards with her you can change it up of course if you feel like. It’s based on how I read her in practice, mythology and such.
The High Priestess (Magic, Sorcery, Hidden)
Hierophant (Keys, Traditional knowledge, Taurus)
Empress (Earth, Nature, Providing, Nurturer)
Hermit (Solitude, reflection, Sovereign)
Death (Underworld, Psychopomp, Leading)

Judgement (Psychopomp, Leader of Souls)
World (Kthonic aspect)
Ace of Wands (Lampadios-Torch bearer or Dadouchos - Torch Bearer)
Two of Swords (Cross roads)
My Favourite Epithets

Deities that can be paired well with her
Certain aspects of deities and spirits can work and share an altar within reason. Like I wouldn’t place Apollo and Hekate without any merit or correlation with each other depending on context. So it’s deities she often is seen with and associated with.
Helios - many myths with each other I keep a sun plaque above Hekate’s statue to signify her celestial but also balance and duality.
Hermes Kthoninos- Hermes underworld aspect but also his Angelos a messenger, common pairing with one another considered to be a sacred pairing
Circe and Medea, Hero worship is very common and you can work with Circe and Medea as heroines or predecessors of followers of Hekate
Presphone- Queen of the underworld and associated of following Hekate deep underground to Hades or remerging from the depths
Demeter- also associated with Hekate as Hekate helps Demeter finding Presphone
Artemis- Similar qualities and both can be worked well together

Lord Brahma ☀🌀☀ Talon Abraxas Brahma is the Creator God in Hinduism. He is the first created being, along with the other gods, Vishnu and Mahesh. Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Trimurti) are associated with creation, preservation, and destruction. The most essential Hindu philosophical concept attributed to him is that of Brahmavidya (divine knowledge). Brahma is also considered the Supreme God - The Creator and destroyer of the universe. He is often depicted as having four faces and four arms, holding a sacred scripture in one hand. Brahma is usually shown as being seated on a lotus flower in full bloom. Brahma has four heads and is often depicted as having four arms, holding a rosary in one hand and a book in another. He also holds an axe, which is said to be used for creation, preservation, or destruction, depending on the context. He is also known as the "Supreme Being" and the "Benevolent Creator." The four heads of Brahma are faced in each of the cardinal directions, representing his knowledge of the past, present, and future. Brahma Mantra

In another world, in another time, we would not have had six Divine Warriors. We would’ve had seven.
In another time, things could’ve gone very differently. If just a few outsiders without understanding of magic hadn’t interfered, then we would have known The Seven. Matron of Truth, Destroyer of Sufferance, Protector of the Honorable, Fury of the Righteous, Keeper of All Wisdom, Wanderer of the Trails, and Seer of the Deep.
Malachi Morgesten was sent to an isolated keep when he was young. He never left that keep, at least for the next 500 years. If one man had simply made one different decision, Malachi would’ve never gone to that castle. He would’ve grown up. He would’ve taught himself how to understand and control and use the magic he was born with; magic he was born with thanks to his distant ancestor, the champion of the god Opinatior.
Malachi was born with power over dreams; the imagination that takes hold when a person falls asleep. However, this went hand-in-hand with fear and nightmares. A person’s deepest dread whether from the past, future, or their own mind. It was for this reason that he was outcasted, and his town’s fears were swiftly directed at him. In this other world, by the time when he would’ve been a young man, Malachi was alone in the world. He traveled aimlessly across Northern Ru’aun. Perhaps one day he was meant to find himself in the town called Nahakra. A place, north of O’Khasis, where a certain group of six often rested.
Perhaps Malachi was meant to meet them. Perhaps Malachi would’ve helped them with some sort of mission, and in doing so they would’ve realized he was…like them. He would’ve realized they were like him. Perhaps he would have nowhere else to go, except for the people who’d held their arms open to him if he’d so desired. Perhaps he was always meant to join their group; the first place he’d ever felt he belonged, where he didn’t have to hide himself. Perhaps in this group, he would’ve grown a friendship with a man named Shad.
Shad was the only person who was feared because of his magic as well. The rest of their friends were different. They were considered blessed, meanwhile Shad and Malachi were the opposite. Death and fear went hand in hand; no one understood it and everyone saw evil in it. Everyone thought it was malicious no matter how it’s used.
It is unknown whether such a friendship between Shad the Destroyer and Malachi the Seer could have prevented Shad from ever wandering off that one day, when he’d gone into the forest and touched that strange rock. But even if he couldn’t have prevented him from doing that, even if Malachi’s presence couldn’t prevent any of the following, maybe, just maybe, a friend like that was the one thing that could’ve helped Shad in the most critical moment.
Malachi’s power was the only one that allowed him to see inside the mind of another. He was the only one who could’ve seen what was truly happening inside his friend’s mind. Maybe with this knowledge, the warriors could’ve found another way. Maybe with Malachi, they could’ve never reached that one last resort. They never would have spent the rest of their lives thinking that Shad had truly betrayed them.
But…that was in another world.
In this world, there was an isolated castle and a renowned warlock scholar. There was a man who was a good one, more or less, but he had failed in his attempt to fulfill his promise to Sir Morgesten before he’d even begun to try. Witchcraft and Magic were entirely separate concepts. He could not understand Malachi’s power, and he could not understand why it refused to be locked away. In this world, that man was not prepared for the power hidden in the soul of this child left at his doorstep. He was not prepared to be faced with his own demons every sleeping moment for months and months—
Perhaps one day Malachi didn’t even know he’d been doing it. Perhaps one day, the man looked at the boy and saw nothing but his nightmares. Perhaps it had been terrifying enough for him to lash out instinctively and push the demon away. Perhaps he hadn’t realized that Malachi was standing on the edge of a balcony three stories high.
The world went on for centuries and centuries. Malachi never met the six people that deep in his soul he’d been yearning for since the day he was born. the Shadow Lord rose and fell. The Divine Warriors lived and died and lived on in the hearts of all Ru’aun. The Matron disappeared. Their grand island city of the fables vanished. Their last friend retreated away into her forest, waiting and waiting.
Then, that friend met a Shadow Knight. She gave him a staff of pure divinity, and Irene was born again. Lord Aphmau of Phoenix Drop ventured out to the Eastern Wolven Tribe one day, and that was the day she met a man named Dante with a woman she knew well, Donna. They led her far, far into the north, and in the process of saving Donna‘s beloved, they found an abandoned castle, and a lost spectre of a boy with magic unlike anything seen since the time of the Divine Warriors.
RE: “When Shad had gone into the forest and touched that strange rock”. Explained at the beginning of this.
Opinatior, god of dreams and imagination, is part of the pantheon of old gods courtesy of @pumpkinprincess22 ! (list was expanded, but this post has most of the others)

The Sand on your Shores (3)
Percy was dreaming. It was the only option.
Percy was dreaming – one of his prescient, ominous, bound-to-come-true dreams – but it was a dream nonetheless.
A warning to heed, a danger to prepare for, but a calamity of the future.
Because Apollo was drowning.
Apollo was gasping, and sinking, and drifting inexorably closer to the monster on the rock.
And Percy couldn’t swim.
Percy couldn’t breathe underwater, he couldn’t summon Apollo to himself, he couldn’t even ...
With trembling hands, Percy reached towards the belt around his waist and the smooth hilt with a jagged, broken blade hanging from it.
Riptide gleamed at him with a muted, apologetic radiance.
Apollo had washed away with the waves in a trajectory towards the monster – and Percy didn’t even have a blade to defend him with.
Provided he could reach him.
So … this was a dream.
Because it couldn’t be reality.
Even though it had been months since he’d dreamt of the future, as if the visions had been due to divine providence and the god looking after the demigods had disappeared.
Apollo was going to die.
Die like Annabeth.
While Percy watched.
Because Percy hadn’t dreamt of the future in months. Almost as if Hercules, the god of heroes, had yet to ascend and grant him visions to guarantee his victory.
No.
Percy’s every instinct rebelled against according the title of divine helper to Hercules, the destroyer of plans, and ruination of Titans, and most importantly – the one who couldn’t even agree to let them pass into the ancient lands to save the world.
He’d much rather believe that Apollo sent them visions on the sly, a state of being put on temporary halt along with the god’s divinity.
Except Apollo was dying.
Almost gently, as if even the sea regretted its part in the impending tragedy, waves pushed Apollo into the body of the gigantic serpent.
The monster shifted. Looked at Apollo. And snapped him up in the blink of an eye.

Prologue (Seven Months Ago)
Special Thanks to @gullethead for the work on the Cholitan Language used here and throughout the story. Mwaxanare feels the encroaching claustrophobia of the heavily modified walls of the underground pathways of the once grand Choiltan palace; aside from the occasional glimpse of a Quetzalcoatl carving or words written in the near-extinct Choiltan script, the palace was unrecognizable as a relic of her family's past.
She had seen these sights through the waters of the Llōcpenhampōzpōapintop, an ancient urn shaped divination tool, as Duvanith and her Adventuring Company had worked their way down to the source of the Curse. The destruction, the wonton violation of the palace, felt all the more real standing in its halls than viewing it through the visions provided through the urn’s illusory waters.
“Your Majesty,” a small voice cuts through her visual search for more secrets paneled over by the Magus behind the Curse, one she assumed to be Anghagros, known to many by the name he foisted upon himself during the destruction of Choilt’s one time Capital ‘The Great Destroyer’.
It was her new Court Necromancer, a green-skinned goblin in an elaborate purple coat, Doctor Archibald Clokz. “We can’t spend an eternity on every floor, the protection charm only has four hours on it, and it’s strongest at the start.”
Mwaxanare knew that he was right, and that the halls of the palace weren’t as welcoming to her as they may have once been; she knew she was stalling though there was so much unknown below them, knowing the things that had come after she brushed away the illusory images of Duvanith in the palaces deepest depths, she was pretty sure she knew what she would find.
A week afterward, she had seen a Bauhinia bush begin to bud; it was the first sign she had seen that Duvanith and her Company had succeeded, and a month and a half later, the first Choiltan child to be born alive since the curse began. Upon reaching the third month, it became evident that Duvanith wouldn’t come stumbling out of the jungle with the Chalice in her hand like the ending to every one of the garbage romance paperbacks written about this sort of thing.
That’s because this was real life, and even if it was fantasy, the happy ending was the end of the Curse, as opposed to her Champion’s return.
She walks on, subconsciously moving her hand as though to clear her long hair from an obstacle, once again forgetting she had cut it months ago just after she and her army had driven the Imperials from Port Currington’s shore, or now as it was known correctly as Neparāticue once again.
If there was one thing that she could be sure of, the Curse had bolstered her ability to take back the Port; between a terrible local harvest and what she assumed was a bad harvest in the Empire, she almost felt bad for the sheer violence her army was able to muster on the Imperial Regiment.
Almost.
The sound of bones clattering together echoes off the walls around her; she turns to look at Clokz again, but before she can say anything, he answers her question.
“Strong readings for Crone Magic.” He removes a small trinket from the inside of his coat, four small bones linked together with a cord. They writhe and wriggle as a snake would, generating a much softer bone-clattering sound, suggesting the first was likely magically amplified; the Necromancer drops the token to the floor. It clatters into a pile and then moves along the floor like an inchworm, away from them.
“Do we follow it?” Mwaxanare says, assuming that it was making its way toward the source of its detection. Clokz puts on a skeptical look and waves his hand in the direction of its travel.
“Ladies first, your majesty.”
Mwaxanare rolls her eyes, places her hand on the grip of her macuahuitl, and follows the eerie clatter of bones.
Clokz, from the moment she had met him, was a bit put off by Crone Magic. He says it doesn’t follow the understood rules of Magic, that there’s something innate, twisted, about the Crones that wield it that make them capable of things that normal learned Magus simply aren’t. She wasn’t sure if Clokz was merely superstitious or just frustrated that the Crones likely kept whatever rules their magic ran on very secret. Though given that Memāxaxīm had attempted to curse them ‘never to step foot in Choilt again’ and they simply worked around it by enchanting their feet away, perhaps they were some unique Magic at play.
The clattering stops, and a fetid stench hits Mwaxanare’s nose.
In front of her was a chamber, the very chamber she had brushed away from the Llōcpenhampōzpōapintop’s enchanted waters during Duvanith’s struggle with the Crones.
“I gotta assume this is how a Coven lair always smells,” Clokz announces, making his way around the edges of the chamber and peering into vials and opening containers curiously.
Mwaxanare’s eyes scan around the room, lingering on each of the bodies of the Crones and finding a flash of pink on the figure in the middle. Mwaxanare feels her heart skip, and she moves to the slumped mess draped in dirty cloaks.
A pressed pink orchid, the flower Mwaxanare had given Duvanith on the morning she had set out to Tēntāmtāxi to dive the Tombs below the Palace. The day after, Duvanith stole a kiss from her, as impossible as it was to steal something that she was desperately trying to give anyways.
As she begins to lean over to pick up the flower, her foot meets something hard underneath the Crones cloak, letting out the unmistakable sound of metal scraping on stone. After plucking the orchid off the Crones cloak, she flips the section concealing the metal object over.
There, staring back at her with its masterfully worked vacuous eye sockets, was the Skull Chalice of Ichillhez. She picks it up by its jewel-encrusted stem and rises; from the corner of her eye, she sees a flat-soled set of adventuring boots with rounded heel and toe areas—her heart craters.
‘Only one adventurer stubborn enough to wear those thirty days through the jungle.’ She thinks to herself, stepping towards Duvaniths body. As it comes into view, she lets out a surprised yelp, Chalice crashes to the floor, and her hand shoots up to cover her mouth.
Clokz’s footsteps quickly draw him to her side, likely concerned about a trap the Crones had laid or a temporary failure of his protection charm.
“Do you think we’ll be able to bring her back?” Mwaxanare asks quietly through her hand
“Your Majesty, I’m a Necromancer, not a fucking brain surgeon,” Clokz says, motioning at Duvaniths body, his hand lingering over the crushed mess that had once been her head.
Mwaxanare exhales, fighting tears back for a moment.
“Well, we’re going to try,” she says, emotions riding in her voice. She feels her hand enveloped by both of Clokz’s.
“I’ll try, but there are no promises.”
Mwaxanare takes a sharp breath. Clokz pats her hand a few times before releasing it and says.
“I’ll,” he pauses. “Give you some time.”
Mwaxanare watches him walk to the corner of the room and begin levitating things out from in front of a seemingly barricaded door. She watches him for far too long, not wanting to turn her head back to face the body of her Champion.
Anghagros was a Magus; most Magus didn’t kill like this.
This was personal.
This was a vendetta.
He didn’t want Duvanith to come back, which was why Mwaxanare needed to ensure she got her back.
She picks up the Chalice as the door Clokz had been working to free creaks open.
“Mwaxanare, you’re not gonna fucking believe this.” a level of bewilderment in his voice.
She wipes a few latent tears away.
“Coming.”

Mangal Bhat Puja Ujjain: A Sacred Remedy for Mangal Dosh
In Hindu astrology, the placement of Mars (Mangal) in certain houses of a birth chart is believed to cause “Mangal Dosh” or “Manglik Dosha.” This planetary condition can lead to challenges in marital life, health issues, and financial instability. To alleviate its effects, one of the most effective Vedic remedies is performing the Mangal Bhat Puja Ujjain, a sacred ritual conducted in the spiritual city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
Renowned for its Jyotirlinga temple—the Mahakaleshwar Mandir—and ancient astrological practices, Ujjain is considered one of the most powerful places for conducting planetary pujas. Among these, Mangal Bhat Puja Ujjain stands out for its deep spiritual and astrological significance.
Understanding Mangal Dosh in Vedic Astrology
According to Vedic astrology, Mangal Dosh arises when the planet Mars is placed in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of an individual’s natal chart. People with this dosh are referred to as "Manglik." Mars represents aggression, ambition, and energy; its misalignment can lead to discord, especially in relationships and marriages.
Common problems associated with Mangal Dosh include:
Delays in marriage
Marital disharmony or divorce
Frequent arguments or conflicts in relationships
Financial instability
Health issues or accidents
To counter these malefic effects, ancient texts recommend performing specific rituals under expert guidance. The Mangal Bhat Puja Ujjain is among the most revered of these rituals.
Significance of Performing Mangal Bhat Puja in Ujjain
Ujjain is considered a highly auspicious city for planetary remedies. It is not only a Jyotirlinga site but also home to some of the most experienced Vedic priests and astrologers. The city is aligned with the Kaal Chakra (time wheel), making it a potent place for karmic and astrological corrections.
Why Choose Ujjain for Mangal Bhat Puja?
Presence of Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga: Lord Shiva, known as the destroyer of planetary afflictions, is worshipped here in his fiercest form.
Highly trained Pandits: The priests in Ujjain are traditionally trained in Shastras and have generations of experience performing dosha nivaran pujas.
Powerful planetary alignment: Ujjain’s geography and spiritual energy are believed to amplify the effects of astrological remedies.
Procedure of Mangal Bhat Puja
The Mangal Bhat Puja Ujjain is a detailed Vedic ritual that follows strict guidelines as laid out in ancient scriptures. The ceremony typically involves:
1. Sankalp (Intention Setting)
The devotee begins the puja by stating their name, gotra (ancestral lineage), and the purpose of the puja.
2. Ganapati Puja
Lord Ganesha is invoked first to remove obstacles and ensure the successful completion of the ritual.
3. Navagraha Shanti
Prayers are offered to all nine planets, with special emphasis on Mars (Mangal) to harmonize planetary energies.
4. Mangal Graha Shanti Path
This involves chanting powerful mantras dedicated to Mars, such as the Mangal Beej Mantra and Mangal Gayatri Mantra.
5. Offerings and Havan
The ritual concludes with a sacred fire ceremony (havan) where specific items like red flowers, masoor dal, jaggery, and copper are offered to the fire.
6. Bhat (Food) Offering
After the puja, food is offered to Brahmins and the poor, symbolizing the purification of karmas and seeking divine blessings.
The entire ritual is usually completed in one day, although more intensive versions may last three to five days depending on the severity of the dosh.
Best Days and Timings for the Puja
Performing the Mangal Bhat Puja Ujjain on a Tuesday (the day ruled by Mars) or during Mangal Nakshatra, Moola Nakshatra, or on auspicious muhurat recommended by a priest yields the best results. Many devotees also choose to perform this puja during Chaitra Navratri or in the holy month of Shravan.
Benefits of Mangal Bhat Puja
When performed with faith and correct rituals, this puja is believed to offer several tangible and spiritual benefits:
Removal or reduction of Mangal Dosh
Early or harmonious marriage
Improved relationships with spouse and family
Protection against accidents and health issues
Financial and career stability
Inner peace and mental strength
Who Should Perform This Puja?
Anyone whose birth chart shows a Mangal Dosh or who is facing unexplained delays or problems in marriage should consult a Vedic astrologer. If advised, they can undertake the Mangal Bhat Puja Ujjain for relief.
Even couples experiencing post-marriage discord or individuals facing frequent mishaps and health issues may benefit from this ritual.
Things to Remember Before the Puja
Get your birth chart analyzed by a learned astrologer to confirm the presence of Mangal Dosh.

Unlike other well-known Kailash peaks, this site carries its own unique essence, offering an unspoiled and less-explored pilgrimage destination for those yearning for solitude and connection with the divine.
The Spiritual and Mythological Connection
Hindu scriptures describe Rudra as a fierce and powerful form of Lord Shiva, symbolizing destruction that leads to transformation and renewal. This energy is said to be concentrated in Rudra Kailash, making it an ideal destination for seekers of spiritual wisdom and self-discovery.
The mountain is also revered in Buddhist traditions, where it is considered a place of meditation and enlightenment. Many monks and spiritual practitioners have journeyed to its serene landscapes to attain higher states of consciousness. Who is Lord Shiva? The Supreme Destroyer and Cosmic Yogi
Lord Shiva—The Adiyogi, The Mahadeva, The Destroyer of Evil. One of the most complex, mysterious, and fascinating deities in Hinduism, Shiva represents both the chaos and the ultimate order of the universe. He is the one who destroys illusions, the cosmic dancer of Tandava, and the meditative ascetic sitting atop Mount Kailash.
But Shiva is not just a god of destruction—he embodies creation, preservation, and transcendence. Let’s dive into what makes him so powerful, enigmatic, and universally revered.
1. The Many Forms of Shiva
Shiva is known by countless names and forms, each symbolizing different aspects of life and existence:
🌀 Mahadev – The greatest of all gods. 🔥 Rudra – The fierce, stormy aspect that destroys evil. 🕉 Shankara – The benevolent, kind, and auspicious one. 🧘‍♂️ Adiyogi – The first Yogi and teacher of Tantra and meditation. ⚔️ Bhairava – The terrifying, wrathful form that annihilates ignorance. 🐍 Nataraja – The cosmic dancer who controls time and rhythm.
2. The Third Eye & Symbols of Shiva
Everything about Shiva’s iconography has deep meaning:
👁 The Third Eye – Symbolizes divine wisdom and destruction of illusion. When opened, it burns down ignorance. 🕉 Trishul (Trident) – Represents the three fundamental aspects of existence: creation, preservation, and destruction. 🌊 Ganga (The Holy River) – Emerges from his hair, symbolizing purity and the cycle of rebirth. 🐍 Vasuki, The Snake – Represents ego, fear, and time, all of which Shiva has conquered. 💀 Crescent Moon – Controls time and reminds us of the cyclical nature of life. 🔥 The Blue Throat (Neelkanth) – Shiva drank the deadly Halahala poison during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) to save the world.
3. Shiva’s Teachings & What We Can Learn from Him
Shiva is beyond just mythology—he embodies deep spiritual and philosophical wisdom:
🔹 Detachment & Simplicity – Shiva lives like an ascetic in the mountains, teaching that materialism is fleeting. 🔹 Balance Between Rage & Calmness – He is both the meditative yogi and the fierce warrior. 🔹 Destroy to Create – Sometimes, old ways must be broken to make way for the new. 🔹 Embracing Imperfection – He accepts all, whether it's ghosts, demons, or outcasts, showing that divinity transcends judgment.
4. Festivals & Worship of Shiva
🔱 Maha Shivaratri – The most sacred night dedicated to Lord Shiva, where devotees fast and chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya.’ 🔱 Shravan Maas (Holy Month of Shiva) – Devotees observe rituals, especially offering water to Shivling. 🔱 Somvar Vrat (Monday Fasting) – Worshippers observe fasts every Monday to seek his blessings.
5. The Shiva-Parvati Love Story: Symbol of Divine Union
Shiva’s relationship with Goddess Parvati represents the union of consciousness (Shiva) and energy (Shakti). Their love is beyond time—eternal and cosmic. Unlike the conventional portrayal of gods, Shiva is a devoted husband and a fierce protector of his family. He challenges norms by sharing equal power with his consort, showing Shiva and Shakti are incomplete without each other.
6. Why Shiva is Loved Across Cultures & Beliefs
✨ Shiva is beyond religion. His essence is found in meditation, yoga, and even modern-day scientific interpretations of destruction and renewal. ✨ He represents freedom—from attachments, societal rules, and the fear of death. ✨ His presence is universal—Hindus, Buddhists, and even some sects in the West revere him.
Final Thoughts: Is Shiva Just a God or an Energy?
Many believe Shiva isn’t just a deity but a consciousness—a cosmic force that governs the cycles of creation and destruction. Whether you see him as the ultimate yogi, the god of dance, or the cosmic destroyer, Shiva transcends labels.
🙏 Har Har Mahadev! Om Namah Shivaya!
