Rodolfo Walsh’s Last Case by Elsa Drucaroff
Tumblr media
Rodolfo Walsh’s Last Case
By Elsa Drucaroff
Translated by Slava Faybysh
Corylus Books
Publication Date: 5 March 2024
Other than through crime fiction novels written by authors in the country, I really know very little about the oppressive Argentinian military dictatorship that ruthlessly suppressed all opposition, or "subversives" as they are referred to in this story. As the book begins two Montoneros, members of the Argentine left-wing Peronist group are on a mission. In perhaps a contrast to expectations their act is theft on behalf of the citizens rather than terrorism, yet it isn't long before more brutal developments are brought to the reader's attention. A shoot out has taken place at a suspected hide out for the Montoneros. Broadcast via Montevideo as the Argentine radio is censored, the news is unclear - either four men and a woman have been killed, or the men are dead and the woman has been captured by the security forces. This is devastating news for Rodolfo Walsh, a journalist and writer who is also head of intelligence for the Montoneros. His 26th year old daughter is the missing woman.
Rodolfo Walsh was a real historical figure and his novel "A Letter to My Friends" was the basis for this novel by Elsa Drucaroff who while researching the history of the time, imagined the circumstances that followed the disappearance of Victoria Walsh. With little reliable information available from his own sources, Walsh has to cross the divide in order to contact Colonel König from the Argentine army in order to attempt to establish the truth.
While conflict is the key theme of this novel, it is far more than simply that between the military junta and the rebels. Walsh has to inform his daughter's mother that Victoria is missing and this brings ahead the reasons for their separation. While a good deal of Argentines may feel sympathetic to the aims of the Montoneros, this does not mean that they personally feel the need to be personally involved as Walsh and his daughter have been. Ideal life or ideology? Elsewhere, another agent has previously had to choose between the cause and love and only when it is nearly too late does he realise what he has missed out on.
The dividing lines are never simplistic. Within the Montoneros there is great debate as to whether they should continue their militant actions, try to negotiate a political settlement or a combination of both, while Colonel König is far less extreme than his leader General Oddone. Yet just sometimes within each human, there is something that polar opposites can recognise within the other. Perhap something recognisable in us all...
Naturally the story does have a predetermined outcome based within history while also giving further lasting legacy to Rodolfo and Victoria Welsh. Perhaps it's importantly it's also a very thought-provoking story which has an enduring relevance and resonance.
Many thanks to Corylus Books for an advance copy of this book and to Ewa Sherman for inclusion on the blog tour. Please check out the other reviews as shown below.

Leo Sawikin Joins Jon McLaughlin Holiday Tour This December
Tumblr media
The former front man of the indie band The Chordaes wrote this uplifting song about the joys of coming home again and seeing your surroundings with a fresh pair of eyes after being away for a long period of time. “I wrote the song last year on my first solo trip to Europe, “ says Sawikin.  “I took the train from Rome to Barcelona, stopping in several cities along the way. The wonder of it all really allowed me to step outside of my head and just be alive to what was around me. I felt a bit reborn and excited to bring this new perspective, new pieces of myself really, home to New York City.”  The song, featured on Americana Highways today, said, “Leo Sawikin carries us to the heights of splendor of celebrating ones place in the thriving metropolis and glorious cultural mecca that calls people home from all around the globe.” Sawikin will bring these songs and more when he joins Jon McLaughlin of his 10-city 2023 Holiday Tour beginning December 4 in Atlanta (all dates listed below). Sawikin’s self-described style of “indie folk pop with a dreamy shimmer” is apparent in the three singles he’s already this year beginning with the May 5 release of “Hold On” which Earmilk calls “a “…masterpiece.” And said the song “…takes listeners on an emotional rollercoaster that they won’t soon forget. The song showcases Leo Sawikin’s innate talent and ability to craft introspective and relatable songs.”  His August 22 release of “The Same Mistakes” had Celeb Mix saying the songs is “…a low-slung, softly gleaming guitar topped by Sawikin’s oh-so evocative voice, at once tender and wistful…rolls into a delicious, throbbing rhythm, swaying on gentle undulations. Slowly building, the tune takes on a glowing wall of sound, full of enveloping resonance and gorgeous, shimmering coloration.”  Neufutur hailed Sawikin’s vocals on “Don’t Pass It By,” released October 13, as “…a deeply felt, attentive, and highly musical    performance… That falsetto note during the song’s chorus puts a graceful touch on an already elegant performance…” Sawikin released his debut album Row Me Away in 2021 during Covid. American Songwriter said of the album’s first single, “Golden Days,” “We’re in contemplative times, and ‘old soul’ Leo Sawikin followed the path paved by pop music’s classic songwriters, effectively capturing the longing for the simplicity of the past on his debut single…” He released two other tracks, “A Whole World Waiting” and “Born Too Late,” that scored indie radio spins in the U.S. and the UK. Sawikin sees the lockdown era as a creative dividing line between Row Me Away and the exciting new material he wrote for his upcoming album. Whereas the music on Row Me Awaywas steeped in a sense of anxiety and dread, the new songs are about learning to live and find peace in the moment, even in the face of an uncertain future. Musically, Sawikin says that he wanted to approach the sessions with Phil Ek differently from both his 2021 solo work and his time with The Chordaes.  “I’m always trying to develop and explore new musical possibilities for myself,” he says.  “For one, I wanted to do a record that showcased my chord voicings in a way that was much more up front than I had in the past. And on previous recordings, I worked with a full backing band, but this time Phil encouraged me to do all the guitar parts myself and to come up with and play all the keyboard parts as well. It was quite a challenge, but I feel like there’s more of me on these new tracks, and that we really were able to distill the songs to their essence. Now, I’m just looking forward to seeing how people respond!” Website Instagram X YouTube Spotify Read the full article

City of Longevity – the Barcelona Meet-up take away.
Tumblr media
At the Smart City Expo World Congress—attended by more than 25,000 people from 800 cities—we partnered with the Barcelona City Council to host a special offsite event, the Barcelona Meetup, for some of the founding members of the City of Longevity global community. This community was established during the inaugural City of Longevity conference in Newcastle in July 2023.
The purpose of the meetup was to provide updates on the progress of the City of Longevity initiative and to gather feedback and insights from city delegates supporting the program. Additionally, our host, the City of Barcelona, shared their strategic plan and the outcomes of key interventions, with a special focus on the impact of Superilles (or superblocks) on longevity.
Tumblr media
Here are our takeaways:
1.The format: We engage with the city and its citizens.
Thanks to the support of the Barcelona City Council, we held our meeting at the Sant Antoni market, in the heart of the city. As is our tradition, we aimed to eliminate the divide between 'stage' and 'audience,' fostering a discussion where learning comes through dialogue. The topic of longevity is often confined to cultural domains that overlook behavioural patterns, social circumstances, and environmental factors as key determinants of healthy longevity, where "healthy" is closely tied to quality of life. It’s time to place biology and geography on equal footing. Ultimately, the City of Longevity must be embedded within the city to fully absorb and reflect the cultural norms of the host city.
2. Why do we need a City of Longevity? Because we have no choice.
As noted by Joachim Rautter from Berlin: According to the UN, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet, and not smoking can reduce the risk of developing the most common and deadly chronic diseases by up to 80%. Both our lifespan and healthspan—the period during which we’re not just alive but healthy and enjoying a good quality of life—are significantly influenced by our lifestyle, and lifestyles are shaped by the places we live. Cities are the engine that can help citizens improve their lifestyles from the ground up, as Sally Herbert from Newcastle added.
Tumblr media
3. Is urban planning a driver for healthy longevity?
The Sant Antoni Market is the epicentre of the Superilles (or superblocks), one of the urban redevelopment projects underway in Barcelona that are literally revolutionizing the concept of public urban spaces, reclaiming for citizens what once seemed to be immovable elements of urban architecture: streets, intersections, and sidewalks.
Much has already been said about Superilles. One of the first studies on their impact suggests that they can contribute to health by reducing both air and noise pollution. However, another study does not confirm whether this strategy encourages people to be more active. It’s too early to draw definitive conclusions. The Superilles still need to transition from being a novelty to becoming a part of everyday life. Thanks to Ariadna Miquel Amengual's enlightening presentation and Daniel Alsina Torra's guided tour of the Superilles, these are our takeaways:
There’s no need to (necessarily) build new spaces; one can intelligently reinvent the existing ones. This is great news for the cities of old Europe, and beyond.
Reinventing existing spaces with people at the centre can foster relationships, encourage walkability, reduce traffic, develop green and cooling areas, expand shared spaces, offer rest and support opportunities, enhance urban connectivity, and reduce air and noise pollution. In our City of Longevity framework, we describe the city as a discreet partner, and the Superilles are a tangible example of this concept.
Changing the architectural context of a space drives behavioural change, affecting both drivers and pedestrians. Pedestrian spaces can be created without demonizing cars or creating ghettos for cyclists, which may be more sustainable and feasible on a larger scale than attempting to completely seal off cities from vehicles.
We’ve likely focused too much on the proximity of services. Proximity also, and perhaps more importantly, means human connection, relationships, and presence. Redesigning spaces is crucial to stimulate this.
Tumblr media
4. There is (free) time ahead.
We’ve spent a lot of energy discussing the "15-minute city," but what about the 50 trillion hours of free time we have ahead of us? Collectively, that’s 195 billion hours of leisure per year for those aged 65+ and about 3.9 trillion hours over the next 20 years in the U.S. alone. Considering this phenomenon globally, that's around 50 trillion hours of time affluence—time that needs to be filled with fun, stimulating, nourishing, purposeful, and even transformative activities.
Tumblr media
5. Involving citizens is not only right, but also possible.
The experiences of all the cities participating in the debate underscored how citizen involvement and participatory platforms are essential to any discourse on the City of Longevity. It seems obvious, but it’s not always practiced. As Professor Peter Madden said, "Almost none of the innovations on display at the adjacent Smart City World Expo Congress were citizen-driven; there is still a lot of rebalancing to be done." But when done correctly, the benefits to the population and their healthy life expectancy are evident.
6. There is a need for "relationship doctors."
This idea was suggested by Gianluca Galimberti from Cremona. Despite the endemic shortage of doctors, there may be a need to invent new professional roles—relationship doctors, relationship nurses—professionals capable of fostering relationships between citizens when architecture alone is not enough. This role is even more necessary in light of the integration of other cultures into our own.
7. Schools are engines for healthy longevity.
As both Ariadna and Margarita Cejas from Buenos Aires emphasized, schools are not only vital for education but also as spaces for gathering, relationship-building, and fostering the role of children as actors and ambassadors of behavioural change within their families.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. Who pays for it?
An orchestrated longevity program needs a budget, and this budget comes from hybrid interactions among all stakeholders. Interventions such as the Superilles yield a return on investment, primarily in society (and, in the long run, by reducing healthcare costs) and in the economy—both local, which benefits from the reclaimed space, and global, which can finally see the trillion-dollar promise of the longevity economy materialize in specific locations. Finally, there’s the data economy. It’s time to engage citizens in a serious discussion about how they can own their digital identity and decide how, and whether, to monetize it. The city must act as an intermediary in this contract, which could revolutionize both the speed of innovation and its sustainability.

Travel Packages need to consider before travelling
Don't pass up the opportunity to live a life full of wonderful experiences and exciting adventures! Given the continent's size (it's incredible to think that you can travel to a whole different culture, language, and people within an hour! ), the diversity of the continent's peoples and languages is astounding. One of the most significant advantages of studying in Europe, aside from the extensive exposure to other cultures, is the possibility to travel around the world. One of the most crucial pieces of advise we can provide you is to travel while studying in Europe, Student tour Europe.
There are nine destinations that stand out above the rest when traveling through Europe as part of your study abroad adventure. These locations should not be overlooked. Take a day trip to a European city for a day excursion or a weekend holiday to discover some of the many things that the city has to offer.

Here is an updated holiday wish list for you to use while studying abroad in Europe; you may design your Student Europe Trip Packages with Europe Incoming.

The greatest European travel locations for students studying elsewhere

1.Amsterdam, Holland
Students will discover that visiting Amsterdam is one of the most rewarding European experiences they can have.
The piled-up houses and canals are only the beginning of what's to come. The Netherlands is widely regarded as having one of Europe's most successful environments, owing to the country's progressive legislation, comprehensive social programs, exceptionally low unemployment rate, and overall healthy way of life. When visiting Amsterdam, make sure to venture beyond the coffee shops and the Red Light District to learn more about the city's unique culture. If you think you're up for the task, rent a bike for the day and live like a local!

This activity requires a visit to the Van Gogh Museum.
When visiting Amsterdam on a student's budget, two delicacies are a must: rijsttafel and stroopwafels. If you have the Amsterdam City Pass Plus, you can get discounts at well-known sites.

Budapest, Hungary

The greatest way to prepare for the Danube is to practice your waltz.
Many people believe that Hungary is situated in the wild, wild east! Budapest is one of the most extraordinary cities you'll come across on your travels; it successfully transitioned to democracy and has thrived since then. The Danube runs through the city and divides it in half. It's likely that once you've experienced Budapest's boisterous nightlife, thermal hot spring baths, underground tunnels, and rib-sticking food, you'll never want to leave!

Skipping the Széchenyi hot bath would be a mistake.
My sweetheart, goulash is something you must eat.
Budapest travel advice for students on a budget: Climbing Gellért Hill or going across the Chain Bridge, both of which are free, will reward you with some of the city's best views.

3.The Spanish city of Barcelona

If you are a student planning to study in Europe and will be in Barcelona, you must go to the Sagrada Familia.
This Spanish city is worth visiting not just for its delicious cuisine, breathtaking architecture, and beautiful beaches, but also for its rich Catalan culture. Get some rest before going to Barcelona because you'll be out and about all day exploring and then partying into the small hours of the morning. Attend a Flamenco performance as well as a traditional Sardana dance performance to have a thorough understanding of the city's history and traditions.

Take a lot of photos in the Park Güell, designed by Antoni Gaudi.
Use every last scrap of ham.
Travel advice for individuals visiting Barcelona on a tight budget: Any glass of wine bought at a tapas bar is accompanied by a complimentary selection of bite-sized snacks.

Prague, Czech Republic

If you want your study abroad experience in Europe to be full, you must visit Prague.
The ancient city of Prague in the Czech Republic is a renowned tourist destination known as the "city of spires." Prague is renowned for its architecture since it was one of the few places that survived World War II without being entirely destroyed. You will immediately fall in love with the surrounding surroundings if you take a stroll down the river while gazing up at the castle. In the winter, Prague transforms into a picturesque Christmas village known for its numerous markets and hot wine. You won't want to miss out on this event if you're willing to withstand the cold.

When touring Old Town Square, you must place yourself in the role of a fairy tale character.
The letters S-T-R-U-D-E-L must be memorized.
Budget travel tips for students visiting Prague: Pilsners and moderately priced coffee are also offered at Unijazz.

5. Paris, France

Here's a sigh Paris is regarded as one of the world's most romantic cities.
If you plan on visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris, you should be prepared for the city to leave you speechless. You should plan time in your itinerary to see the city's museums, go on a nocturnal bike ride or boat ride while the city lights sparkle, and then relax and take it all in at a local café.

It is definitely essential to have a picnic at the park near the Eiffel Tower.
Everything is available for consumption. Seriously.
Advice for students on a tight budget who want to visit Paris: The city of Paris is home to a plethora of free museums and monuments, some of which are open every day and others that are only open at certain times. The Centre Pompidou, the Musée d'Orsay, and the Musée d'Art Moderne all have free days!

6.The city of London in the United Kingdom

Where did Victoria Beckham, Harry Potter, and the Beatles begin their careers? Yes, without a doubt.
By visiting any of London's boroughs, you can get the sense that you are in another country because each one has its own particular character, cuisine, culture, and way. You can sample various cuisines as you travel from borough to borough, and then round out the weekend by visiting the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, or Speakers' Corner in Hyde Park.

Make an attempt to put a smile on the royal guards' faces.
Fish and chips are required; extra points are awarded for using newspaper packaging.
Travel tips for students planning a trip to London: Students will be able to take advantage of a number of unique discounts, specials, and special promotions available at local bars and clubs. Details can be found here.

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR IT! There is a little village in Switzerland on the list of sites to see while you are in Europe for school. You might be surprised by this.
Where can I locate this item? By avoiding the interruptions produced by modern life, the village preserves its attractive and spotless aspect throughout the year. It's tucked away in a valley deep beneath the Swiss Alps. Mountain biking and hiking are popular in the summer, and skiing, sledding, and snowboarding on some of the steepest and most difficult slopes you've ever seen are available in the winter. This is an area where Swiss culture is still very much alive and well, making for a really distinct and authentic vacation experience.

You must yodel!
Raclette is a dish that must be consumed. "Nirvana" is a meal made of hot, molten cheese that is poured over potatoes.
Travel tips for students on a small budget visiting Switzerland: Renting a bicycle allows you to navigate around this lovely village and the surrounding countryside more efficiently and affordably. The views are truly breathtaking!

THE CHROMATICA BALL TOUR FASHION CREDITS
It feels like forever since she announced it, but Lady Gaga finally launched her highly anticipated “The Chromatica Ball” stadium summer world tour! The setlist was divided into five acts, opening with a trio of fan favorites.
Fashion director Nicola Formichetti made sure that fans got a visual treat, not only musically. Styling by power-duo Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout with assistance by Hunter Clem. Hair by Frederic Aspiras and glam by Sarah Tanno-Stewart using Haus Laboratories.
Tumblr media
Gaga opened the tour singing her biggest hits inside of a transformer meets sarcophagus creation custom designed by Gareth Pugh, who also made her grey structured sculpturesque cocoon armor with tonal "stitching", leather puff-sleeve top and belted leather paper-bag trousers, based on his Fall/Winter 2018 collection.
Underneath, she wore a custom Atsuko Kudo Joy matte silver sleeveless latex bodysuit with mock neck. You’ll see another one later in this post!
Her dancers all wear bespoke HUGO BOSS grey tailored looks.
Tumblr media
A bunch of new names worked on the fashion of this tour. Boyd Baten’s Barcelona-based “futuristic style brand” Divamp Couture being one of them! They created these polished and embossed brutalism-inspired Monoblocks.
Tumblr media
Mother Monster sang "Alice" while sporting this otherworldly custom Topo Studio NY Muscle Detail sequined red sheer organza and liquid silk lamé ripped and ruched trapunto gown with dramatic shoulders.
Underneath, she revealed this sickening custom Vex Clothing x Yummy Gummy Latex blood-inspired sleeveless latex mock neck bodysuit which is part of their "Vol. 22" collection.
The insane PVC pipe metal & molded leather choker is part of a custom stage look designer Assaad Awad originally created for her "Enigma" Vegas residency!
Tumblr media
Her opera-length fingerless black leather gloves are the Fergie by Paula Rowan.
Tumblr media
Throughout the show, Gaga danced around in these custom Haus of Gaga over-the-knee black leather combat boots.
Tumblr media
Her red quilted puff shoulder jacket, she added during “Monster”, is from Iran-born Germany-based emerging designer AZIZ...
Tumblr media
...which she combined with her favorite Komono x Tom Eerebout M Whiskey Coke sunglasses.
Tumblr media
For the second segment of the show, LG explored her fetishgear side by rocking this bondage-inspired black PVC spike shoulder top with harness-style buckles, based on the Eclipse top by SINRGY! Also by them: her elbow pad and fingerless neoprene gloves with PVC panels.
The deconstructed, asymmetrical stretch jersey bodysuit and trousers, both featuring PVC panels, are fruit of a collaboration between her sister's label Topo Studio NY and longtime collaborator Muto-Little Costumes.
Tumblr media
She crowned the look with a custom Noel Stewart black PVC biker cap – which gives me incredible "The Fame" era vibes!
Tumblr media
Next, LG rocked a custom Alexander McQueen molten metallic gold moiré tromp l'œil double lapel cropped tailored blazer, sleeveless shirt and wide-legged trousers!
Another fan favorite look was the stunning Topo Studio NY creation she whipped out for "Free Woman" — clearly a nod to Ballroom culture (Paris is Burning, anyone?).
The extravagant coat is hand-crafted from pleated gold lamé and features avant-garde sleeves, layered pagoda shoulders and a stand-up collar.
Tumblr media
Later, she added this bespoke Philip Treacy lobster claw-inspired golden headpiece.
Tumblr media
For the dancers, Perry Meek created 16 gold & white looks in only 5 days while Lara Jensen made a dozen of fabulous gold headpieces in the shapes of wings, orbs and orbits.
Tumblr media
While playing her tree piano, Gaga changed into a Atsuko Kudo Joy sleeveless black latex mock neck bodysuit.
She also brought back her custom Xtian de Medici Chromataphore helmet headpiece constructed from therman plastics, vinyl and various pigments he developed for the color. Xtian used a special high tech pigment similar to the pigment that gives butterflies their color!
Tumblr media
For her next dates, she whipped out this purple & black latex bodysuit with high collar and jet crystal embellishments that was custom-made for her by Dead Lotus Couture.
Tumblr media
Gaga then danced to "Stupid Love" and "Rain on Me" wearing Alexander McQueen Resort 2023 eyelet-embellished cropped leather biker jacket and crystal embroidered long laser-cut harness.
Tumblr media
For “Hold my Hand”, she replaced the previous jacket with an archival KTZ Fall/Winter 2011 deconstructed leather biker jacket. She had the shoulder lapels of hers encrusted with jet crystals.

Fatin Jadmani // Season 1 Field Notes
Field Note #028 – Welcome To Fort Travis High School, approximately 2,900 students enrolled. Something to note: Dot, Shelby, Toni, and Martha attend public schools, whereas Leah, Fatin, Nora, and Rachel attend private schools. An even fifty-fifty split, representing both sides of the educational divide.
Field Note #034 – Fatin didn’t have to read Jeff’s book for school because she decided against taking Contemporary American Lit, an elective she likes to call “Boring Bearded White Dudes 101.”
Field Note #038 – All of the girls except Dot are on social media, though Leah only posts Stories. Officially speaking, Fatin has the most followers (roughly 11k). However, Nora has a finsta where she posts drawings of birds wearing wings. This account has caught on in the art community, and actually tops Fatin’s by 57 followers.
Field Note #042 – Fatin likes to do a style reset every once in a while by going monochromatic for a day. Her green palette here includes shades of jade and pine.
Field Note #051 – Fatin’s mom is one of the top real estate agents in the Bay Area. She sells big-ticket properties in San Francisco and the East Bay, and prides herself in hosting the best open-house events. One of her secrets is playing classical music at just the right volume to make a house feel classy yet cozy.
Field Note #053 – Fatin only goes for college dudes. Her take on high school guys? They haven’t done enough living. If a guy doesn’t have a monthly car payment or do his own laundry, how can he be trusted in a hook-up context?
Field Note #061 – How each girls learned to swim: Martha took a class with her mom; Toni would sneak into her neighbor’s above-ground pool by night until she kind of just taught herself; Rachel and Nora had private lessons; Fatin’s grandparents had an infinity pool; Leah learned in Lake Tahoe at a family reunion; Dot went to the quarry; and Shelby’s dad threw her into the country club pool sink-or-swim style.
Field Note #073 – Fatin has been to Barcelona three times: twice with her family, and once on tour with her youth orchestra. She faked jetlag to break away from the group and went out all night with a Spanish cyclist she met on the flight.
Field Note #092 – For those playing along, this is the second time we’ve seen Fatin use a random object as a fake “microphone.” First her toothbrush, now Martha’s hairbrush. It’s something she’s done since she as little; in her living room wall there’s a photo of her at four years old, hosting a fashion show using a red-white-and-blue Bomb Pop as a microphone.
Field Note #109 – To describe her after-school drink of choice, Martha says “pop,” which gives her away as a Midwesterner. Based on where they live, here’s a breakdown of how our girls refer to sugar carbonated beverages: Martha and Toni say “pop”; Rachel, Nora, Fatin, and Leah say “soda”; Shelby says “coke.”

Travel across europe with Student Europe Travel Packages
Do not give up the chance to have a life filled with excellent experiences and exciting adventures! Given the breadth of the continent (it's astonishing to think that you can travel to a whole new culture, language, and people within an hour!), the diversity of the continent's peoples and languages is remarkable. in addition to the enormous exposure to other cultures, the opportunity to see more of the world is one of the most significant benefits of studying in Europe. Traveling while you are studying in Europe is one of the most important pieces of advice that we can provide you. Student tour Europe.
During your time spent traveling through Europe as part of your study abroad experience, there are nine destinations that stand out above the others. These destinations are not to be missed. Take a short trip to a city in Europe for a day excursion or perhaps a short vacation over the weekend to explore some of the many things that the city has to offer.

Here is an updated vacation wish list for you to utilize while you are spending time studying abroad in Europe; you may use Europe Incoming to create your Student Europe Trip Packages.

The best travel destinations in Europe for students who are studying elsewhere

1.Amsterdam, Netherlands
Students will find that visiting Amsterdam is one of the most rewarding experiences they can have in Europe.
The heaped homes and canals are just the beginning of what is to come. The Netherlands is recognized as having one of the most prosperous settings in Europe thanks to the country's progressive legislation, extensive social programs, extraordinarily low unemployment rate, and generally healthy way of life. When you are in Amsterdam, make sure to explore the city beyond the coffee shops and the Red Light District to find out more about the vibrant culture that the city has to offer. Rent a bike for the day and live like a native if you think you're up to the challenge!

A trip to the Van Gogh museum is a prerequisite for this activity.
When visiting Amsterdam on a student's budget, there are two foods that are an absolute must: rijsttafel and stroopwafels (an Indonesian feast). You are eligible for discounts at well-known attractions if you have the Amsterdam City Pass Plus.

2. Hungary's Budapest

The best way to get ready for the Danube is to brush up on your waltz skills.
There are a lot of people who think that Hungary is situated in the wild, wild east! One of the most remarkable cities you'll come across on your travels is Budapest, which has made a successful transition to democracy and has continued to thrive in that time. The Danube runs through the middle of the city and divides it in two. It's possible that once you experience the rowdy nightlife, thermal hot spring baths, underground tunnels in Buda, and rib-sticking food in Pest, you won't ever want to leave Hungary!

It would be a mistake to skip the Széchenyi hot bath.
Goulash is something you must consume, my dear.
Budapest affordable travel tips for students: Climbing Gellért Hill or walking across the Chain Bridge, both of which are free to do, will reward you with some of the best vistas the city has to offer.

3.The city of Barcelona in Spain

If you are a student planning to study abroad in Europe and will be in Barcelona, you really must make time to visit the Sagrada Familia.
This Spanish city is worth visiting not just for its mouthwatering cuisine, stunning architecture, and beautiful beaches, but also for the rich Catalan culture that can be found there. Get some sleep before you go to Barcelona since you'll be out and about all day exploring, and then you'll be out partying till the wee hours of the morning. Attend a Flamenco performance as well as a traditional Sardana dance performance in order to have a comprehensive understanding of the culture and traditions of the city.

Take photographs in the Gaudi-designed Park Güell, and do it in large numbers.
Use up every last bit of the ham.
Travel tips for those on a tight budget who are going to Barcelona: Any glass of wine ordered at a tapas bar comes with a selection of free bite-sized nibbles as a complimentary addition to the meal.

4.Prague, Czechoslovakia

You absolutely must go to Prague if you want your study abroad experience in Europe to be complete.
The historic city of Prague in the Czech Republic is a popular vacation spot that is also referred to as the "city of spires." The city of Prague is notable for its architecture because it was one of the few places to make it through the war without being completely obliterated. If you take a stroll down the river while gazing up at the castle, you will quickly fall in love with the surrounding environment. In the winter, Prague transforms into a charming Christmas hamlet that is famous for its many markets and its hot wine. If you are willing to brave the cold, you won't want to miss out on this experience.

When exploring Old Town Square, you absolutely have to put yourself in the mindset of being in a fairy tale.
The letters S-T-R-U-D-E-L have to be absorbed.
Budget travel recommendations for students visiting Prague: Pilsners and reasonably priced coffee are also available for purchase at Unijazz.

5. France's Paris

Voici un sigh Paris is considered one of the most romantic cities in the world.
If you plan on going to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, you should get ready for the city of Paris to leave you unable to find the right words. You should schedule time in your itinerary to go to the museums in the city, take a midnight bike ride or boat ride while the city's lights dazzle, and then take some time to relax and take it all in at a local café.

It is absolutely necessary to have a picnic in the park that is near to the Eiffel Tower.
Consumption is possible with everything. Seriously.
Advice for students looking to travel to Paris on a limited budget: The city of Paris is home to a vast number of free museums and monuments, some of which are open every day while others are only accessible at specific times. Even the Centre Pompidou, Musée d'Orsay, and Musée d'Art Moderne offer free days!

6.London, in the United Kingdom

Where did Victoria Beckham, Harry Potter, and the Beatles get their start in their respective careers? Without a doubt, you bet.
It is possible to have the impression that you are in a whole other nation by visiting any one of London's boroughs because each one has its own distinct character, cuisine, culture, and manner. You may get a taste of the many different cuisines as you travel from borough to borough, and then you can finish off the weekend by going to the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, or Speakers' Corner in Hyde Park.

Make an effort to bring a grin on the faces of the royal guards.
Fish and chips are an absolute requirement; extra points are awarded for the use of newspaper packaging.
Travel advice for students interested in visiting London: Students will have access to a variety of unique discounts, specials, and special promotions offered at local bars and clubs. Details are available here.

7. Switzerland's Lauterbrunnen

WATCH OUT FOR IT! While you are in Europe for school, there is a small town in Switzerland that is on the itinerary of sites to see. This may come as a surprise to you.
Where exactly can I find this item? The village maintains its charming and pristine appearance throughout the entire year by avoiding the disruptions caused by modern life. It is hidden in a valley deep within the Swiss Alps. In the summer, you can go mountain biking and hiking here, and in the winter, you can go skiing, sledding, and snowboarding on some of the steepest and most challenging slopes you've ever experienced. This is a location in which Swiss culture is very much still being practiced, which makes for a very distinctive and authentic vacation experience.

You gotta yodel!
Raclette is required to be eaten. The dish known as "Nirvana" is comprised of hot, molten cheese that is poured over potatoes.
Travel advice for students on a tight budget who are going to Switzerland: You can get around this attractive village and the countryside that surrounds it more efficiently and cheaply if you rent a bicycle. The vistas simply cannot be beat!

My first Sims 4 home 🙂🙌🏼
Hi there! After a week thinking about in my first post on tumblr, finally i’ve decided to post my first Sims 4 content.
Tumblr media
So this is my first Sims 4 home, well ... actually this is the 2nd, because when i started to play i’ve lived in one of the small apartments at the Fashion District (Zen View) but it was technically impossible to build or decorate because of the tiny size. At this time i’m playing without the money cheat, so it took some time to my sim would affords a new apartment and finally after having it fully furnished i could show my home. 🙂
Welcome to the 122 Hakim House! Located in the Arts Quarter, this historical trait apartment offers extraordinary views to the other side of San Myshuno Bay and of course a lot of space for my two sims who live inside (in another post i’ll be telling you more about their story).
Tumblr media
First of all, my sims love the natural appearance of materials such as: wood, concrete, stone, marble, metals, glass, leather, etc ... so i’ve mix them with contemporary iconic furniture to give a young fresh air to this apartment where my two young adult sims live.
Let’s start the tour! 😁
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the entry we have a small hall with the essentials: a marble console, a lamp, a round mirror, one coat rack ... and also we have this black and gold Art Déco wallpaper on the background wall which matches the runner rug in the hallway that connects with the study double door.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My sims needed a private space for developing the writing skills asked in their job and also a quiet room for reading and creating social media content, so we got this amazing office at home. I really love the geometrical wood panel at the back wall that also has a big window that allows the natural light to comes in the room and of course that bitonal rug that i’ve got in real life in my living room hahaha.
This office is just perfect for receiving visits or clients for a quick business meeting without any disturb.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we have arrived to my favorite part of the apartment: the big social area! At the dining room we have this six seats glass round table that allow us to have many friends diner during the week, i choose this amazing Magis One chairs in black iron that goes in a perfect match with the white round faux fur rug and the gold nordic ceiling lamps in the area 😍
Tumblr media
Of course our guest could enjoy their favorite shows during their visit on the 65” Samsung Serif Smart TV that doesn’t breaks the environment with the easel style support.
Tumblr media
My sims love to have a lot of plants inside the house so they have this special variety of plants in front of the full sized windows ... another detail i love is that we saved a lot of space with that functional bar trolley instead of having a big bar counter and that decision give us the space for having a piano next to the dining room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The central part of the apartment belongs to the open central kitchen which has its counters and cabinets in medium walnut wood with chrome details and white marble tops. The floor and walls are in geometrical black and white patterns, and i decided to give that high contrast accent with a shiny orange color applied in the exterior walls and in the Kartell Ghost barstools, all the appliances are in stainless steel finish but the ceiling lamps was selected in bright gold to highlight their particular shapes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The living room is just a dream! 😍 We have this Scandinavian fireplace in black iron that goes in perfect harmony with the furniture: a central Noguchi coffee table in glass and walnut wood, two Wegner Shell chairs in walnut wood and black leather, of course a Barcelona daybed in brown leather with another two sofas in black and white leather.
Tumblr media
The geometrical lattice in medium walnut wood divides the social area from the guest bathroom and the Master suite creating another small hall in that part of the apartment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The guest bathroom is fully in black Argos marble with a white vessel sink, a simple white toilet complementing with the solid black floating counters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The bedroom is spacious, we have a normal double bed with a closet area, a marble desk that allows to work or entertain with the laptop and a mini lounge with a bench and a chaise longue in front of the 55” Smart TV.
Tumblr media
All of the seats in this room are in saddle leather with black or chrome metal parts matching with the wood and marble coffee table and side table
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The private bathroom in white Carrara marble, is the positive version of the other bathroom.
We have a pair of white porcelain vessel sinks whit a huge mirror in front of the glass shower cabin, a toilet with a hand-held bidet shower system, and of course a white ceramic clawfoot bathtub.
Tumblr media
This apartment offers spectacular views by night, so you can organize fancy parties and diners whenever you want with the guarantee that your guest will be absolutely impressed 😍
Tumblr media
Here is the layout plan if you was lost on the tour hahaha 😉
Finally I would like to thank infinitely to all of the CC creators that make my game possible in this way, i have a lot of CC in my game so is kind of impossible to mention each of you in this post, but i sincerely appreciate your work and passion in every single object you made. ALL OF YOU ARE JUST AMAZING! 🤗 ❤️
Tumblr media
Thanks a lot to YOU if you read the full article, I wrote it for all of your who read me!
Hope to see you again here 🙌🏼
Sul sul! 👋🏼
