A close up look at some of the Dienonychus color variations. These are some of my favorite designs overall in the story- the prairie variants are the darker, brownish ones, while the forest variants have more coppery orange and red feathers. Females have darker/more stripes around their neck, while the males tend to have lighter faces.

@catsandcataclysms #animorphs#okay hear me out. i voted dienonychus#but my second choice would be tasmanian devil#BECAUSE. those animals are meant to be extinct#but only recently#so the possibility of them surviving is nonzero#which means any host that would be seen publically trying to kill#potentially the LAST REMAINING ANIMAL of an endangered/thought extinct animal#would immediately lose all social status#go to jail#and expose themselves potentially#dienonychus would also be pretty cool though#because i like dinosaurs

*these are both morphs they gain then lose during Sario Rips — commenters on the last poll suggested to adding them back in

some of the restored prehistoric earth creatures from the earth conservation center for prehistoric and alien wildlife.... ill do more than raptors eventually but theres a couple more i want to do too, including some of the alien wildlife as well... when i finish enough of them all make a more in depth post about the conservation center including the land it spans over, since, its yanno, on earth. 

second pic is comparing/contrasting a utah to a peacock raptor; theyre similar in shape but very obviously alien when looking at induvidual features (like number of toes, skull shape,the arm structure,etc)

Hi Pennyyyy!! It's Luis! Ok ok so two things! First about the that last imagine you posted with the board games. I am Super competitive at a few board and card games (Oregon Trail, Skip-Bo, Uno, Sorry, etc.) but the one I always win at is Skip-Bo and I can just imagine my F/Os trying everything in their power to beat me but they just can't😂 I love that imagine so much!

The other thing that I just really wanna share is that I have a new favorite dinosaur! I still have my other favorites (Triceratops and Dienonychus). I started watching Prehistoric Planet and my new favorite is the Tuarangisaurus. It's the one that looks like the Nessie. They're so cool and I love them! Did you know that their babies are the biggest animal babies ever? They're nearly half the mom's size when they're born and I just think that's really neat!

Anyway just thought I would share that lol. Once again thank you for reading and tolerating me lmao! Take care!

"Hmmm." Logan still didn't look too convinced. "Yeah, but wouldn't it be more wrong to say they have a frill when there's no evidence of one, then to go back later and say, oh yeah, they did, actually." His pizza was forgotten as he debated with Nick, but he was smiling. "'cause they could even say in the movie, it didn't have a frill because we didn't have all the DNA."

Negan chuckled softly, but didn't say anything to interrupt the conversation. Logan sometimes had difficulties making friends due to his brash and sometimes bossy nature. Especially with older kids, who sometimes thought he was a bit bratty and annoying. It was nice to see him get along with older boys without fighting.

"Utahraptors could be about sixteen feet long and almost five feet tall." Logan said, repeating the size of one of his favorite dinosaurs excitedly. "It definitely doesn't make sense that they called the velociraptors velociraptors. Especially since they were modeled after dienonychus and Utahraptor is right there."

Saturday mornings in the Smith household were almost idyllic, at least, as far as Lucille was concerned. Most of the time, she woke up in Negan's arms, or curled up against his warm back, the sunlight filtering lazily through the gaps in their curtains, hazy and golden. She and Negan got up with their alarms, heading to the kitchen, where Negan started making coffee and Lucille started on prepping for breakfast. They worked in content silence, only breaking it up occasionally to ask for things, but it was a familiar routine that they had been doing for years. Lucille was making pancakes while sipping on coffee that Negan had made her when Logan stumbled into the kitchen, yawning and with his hair sticking up everywhere.

"Morning, sweetheart." Lucille said, reaching over to try and smooth the wild tufts of black hair down. "Sleep well."

Very pettable?? The thing was a killing machine. It was smart as peoplean, hella fast, extremely agile and more successful than even the best known prehistoric hunters. A pack of them could take down a sauropod if they put their mind to it. Deinonychus was the best dinosaur to ever dinosaur.

Random Jurassic Park thought

I see and hear a lot of complaints about the Jurassic park velociraptor size and lack of feathers but I don't think I've heard or read a complaint about the fact that they've dug up a velociraptor fossil in snakewater montana when velociraptor are found in Mongolia.

Edited for context I am aware that the mislabeled Dienonychus in Michael Crichton's Jurassic park novel comes from the 1988 book Predatory Dinosaurs of the World by paleo-artist Gregory S. Paul. Where Paul noted the similarities between the skeletons of the Velociraptor from Mongolia and the Deinonychus skeletons from North America. That were so similar that he decided to group the Deinonychus fossils under the name Velociraptor, as the older name took precedence according to the rules by which organisms are named.
