DRIBBLING- Keep your head up and your eyes on the game. Don't look at the ball. Extend your arm and snap your wrists to send the ball into the ground. PASSING- Passing in basketball is a way for players to move the ball on the court between teammates. Passing is a two-step process that requires a minimum of two players on the same team to be effective. In order to pass the ball, a player must throw or move the ball to a teammate and the teammate must catch the ball.
SHOOTING- To shoot accurately, square your shoulders to the basket and place your feet shoulder length apart. With your knees bent slightly and back leaning towards the basket, put the fingers of your shooting hand under the ball and tuck your elbows close to your body. Flick your wrist towards the hoop to release the shot
REBOUNDING- In basketball, a rebound, sometimes colloquially referred to as a board, is a statistic awarded to a player who retrieves the ball after a missed field goal or free throw.
DEFENSE- A basketball defense refers to the defensive strategies, alignments, and positioning that a team uses to prevent the opposing offense from scoring baskets. In basketball, good defense requires quickness, footwork, and a deep understanding of the fundamentals.
TECHNICAL AND TACTICAL SKILLS
Team USA will always be the fan favorite because all the players of team USA are fun and entertaining to watch with their accurate shooting, fancy and ankle-breaker dribbling, acrobatic layups, and their deadly defense. They displayed a lot of tactical skills like give-and-go where the point guard passes the ball to the center then cuts towards the net and recieves the return pass from the center. They did it a couples times that made easy for them to score. Another tactical skill they made was the backdoor cut. A simple yet useful skill to make a basket. It is used when the defender is over-playing in the passing lane denying pass. Depending on the offence, this will leave a big hole to cut into between. If being denied the pass will be able to backdoor cut. Another tactical skill they used was their deadly defense, the trapping. Wherein they let the point guard to towards the sidelane then double-teaming them at the blind side which results to a easy steal and a basket. They used this many times and gave them a lot of easy baskets.
RULES OF THE GAME
Offense
The basketball team on offense is the team with the basketball. When a player has the basketball there are certain rules they must follow:
The player must bounce, or dribble the ball with one hand while moving both feet. If, at any time, both ahands touch the ball or the player stops dribbling, the player must only move on foot. The foot that us stationary is called the pivot foot.
The basketball player can only take one turn at dribing. In other words, once a player has stopped dribbling they cannot start another dribble. A ayer who starts dribbling again is called for a double-dribbling violation and loosed the basketball to the other team. A ayer xan only start another dribble after another player from either team touches or gains control of the basketball. This is usually after a shot or pass.
The ball must stay in bounds. If the offensive team looses the ball out of bounds the other team gets control of the basketball.
The players hand must be on top of the ball while dribbling. If they touch the bottom of the basketball while dribbling and continue to dribble this is called carrying tue ball and the player will lose the ball to the other team.
Once the offensive team crosses the court, they may not go back into the backcourt. This is called a backcourt violation. If the defensive team knocks the ball into the backcourt, then the offensive team can recover the ball legally.
Defense
The team on defense is the tem without the basketball.
The main rule for the defensive pkayer is not to foul. A foul is described as gaining an unfair advantage through physical contact. There is some interpretation that has to be made by the referee, but, in general, the defensive okayer may not touch the offensive player in a way that caused the offensive player to lose the ball or miss a shot.
Rules for everyone
Although the foul rule is described above as a defensive rule, it applies exactly the same to all players on the court including offensive players.
Basketball players cannot kick the ball or hit it with their fist.
No player can touch the basketball while it is travellikg downward towards the basket or if it is on the rim. This is called goaltending.

How to officiate the game
Basketball is a fast indoor game played with two teams of five players each. The importance of good basketball officiating involves with rules in playing a basketball game. Without competent officials, the game will not be a success. Different errors can be commited in a basketball game if not the decisions of the officials if there are erros commited. This shows respect to the authority of the game.
The following are the officials of the game and their functions.
The Referee
A referee is the official in charge during and after the game. He is the offical who watches a game or match closely to wnsure that the rules arw adhered to and sometimes to arbitrate on matters. He has the full responsibility to enforce the rules and maintain the order of the game. The referee has the final say on disciplinary matters. He also controls the game and takes up positions on opposite sides of the court.
The duties of the referee include the following:
Inspects and approves all equipment, including court, baskets, ball, backboards
Inspecr timer's and scorer's signals
Desginates the official timepiece and its operator
Designates the official scorebook and the official scorer
Responsible for notifying each captain three minutes before each half is to begin
Decides whether or not a goal shall count if officials disagree
May forfeit the game when conditions warrant
Decides upon matter on which the timers and scorers disagree
Has the power to make decisions on any points specifically covered by the rules
Determines of ground rules are necessary
The Timekeeper
The timekeeper also called Timer is charged with certain duties, according to the rules of basketball. The timekeeper should be familiar with all of the rules and obligations in the game. Mastering these rules and regulations can help avoid confusion and the timekeeper. He keeps record of playing time and stoppages in play, and times the time-outs, and indicates when each half or overtime ends.
The Timekeeper duties include the following:
Consults officials as to signals used to indicate a time-out and resumption of time
Keep eyes on the officials throughout the game
Checks on the duration of time-outs, substitions, etc.
When to start clock:
When the ball is legally tapped on all jumps balls
When ball touched in bounds, if resumption of play is by a throw-in afyer clock has been stopped
When ball is legally touched after a missed free throw and ball is to remain alive
When to stop clock:
When time expuress at the end of the period
When an official signals a foul
When an official signals a jump ball
When a violation occurs
When an official orders a time-out
The Scorer
The scorer also called scorekeepers keeps a record of the points scored, all fouls called against each player, timeouts charged to each team, notes the starting line-ups, and keeps a record of all substitions.
The Scorer duties include the following:
Obtains names and numbers of all players who may participate in the game at least ten minutes before the start of the game. At least 3 minutes before scheduled starting time, have each team desginate its first five. He also reports any failure to comply referees.
Records field goals made, free throws made and missed, running summary of points scored, personal and technical fouls on each player, team personal fouls per half and timeouts.
