Lime Jengo was originally going to look a lot like Norre's grass gym leader, Leif, but @billfrancois beat me to the design. Out of respect for his seniors, Lime has come to Norre learn about gardening from the best.

More yokai fakemon! The Tantengu line takes inspiration from Karasu Tengus ( Crow Tengus! ) It is version exlusives with the Deweep line!

Felt a little inspired, drew both @billfrancois' Leif (and his main Pokémon Deweep) with my Grass Gym Leader Angela (and her main Pokémon Incerose)!

Gen 8 Starter Evolutions' Possible Names

Most of these are from my own noggin, but I've marked the few that aren't as “not mine” since they came from sources I’ve lost (sorry!). Add your own in the notes! I'd love to see more.

Grookey line

Pitchimp – pitch (as in sound OR as in sports) + chimp

Verdape – verdant + ape

Drumanga[bey] – drum + mangabey

Manock/Maconk – macaque + knock/conk. The second one feels more natural, and good for a fighter.

Chimpace – chimp + pace (like tempo)

Babbeat/Babbang/Babbonk – babboon + beat (hit or rhythm)/bang/bonk

Chimpanseed (not mine) – chimpanzee + seed

Gorilloak (not mine) – gorilla + oak

Scorbunny line

Dashare – dash + hare

Runnit – run + rabbit

Rappid/Rappit – rapid + rabbit. Can't do Rabbid, after all.

Zappit/Zabbit – zap (for speed and/or electricity) + rabbit

Jabbit – jab + rabbit. I'm convinced this will be one if it goes Fire/Fighting.

Leaporid – leap + leporid (hare)

Leapyro/Lepyro/Zapyro/Scampyro – leap/leporid/zap/scamper + pyro

Rabbustle – rabbit + hustle/bustle

Quisker – quick + whisker

Bunfire – bunny + fire + bonfire. I love this one.

Jackasmoke – jackrabbit/jackalope + smoke

Murcharge – murchen (Scots for hare) + charge (running towards and/or electricity)

Hoppunch – hop + punch

Ravvim – rabbit + vim

Dancear – dance + ear

Hopscorch (not mine) – hop + scorch + hopscotch. So good!

Flaare (not mine) – flare + hare

Sobble line

Lamentile/Lamentorrent – lament + reptile/torrent. One of my faves.

Wailizard – wail + lizard

Deweep/Dewliz – dew + dewlap + weep/lizard

Streament – stream + lament

Sobbog – sob[bing] + bog

Squalliz – squall + lizard. I feel like they have to use “squall” somewhere in these names or the signature moves. It's the perfect word to encompass both sobbing and water/weather powers!

Bubbleander (not mine) – bubble + salamander

Dimolodo (not mine) – dim (sad?) + komodo dragon

Crymeleon (not mine) – cry + chameleon

Anxietoad (not mine) – anxiety + toad

Sadlamander (not mine) – sad + salamander

Miserubble (not mine) – miserable + bubble

Be on the lookout for a coming post on my theory for what the evolutions will be based on. It’s a bit different!

Time for some yokai themed fakemon! 

The Deweep line takes inspiration from both sundews and the yokai Rokurokubi! It is version exclusives with the Tantengu line!

Hey so I gotta know, what was the thought process for the updated Norre region? specifically with older designs that you didn't use or update from the first iteration. I know some got repurposed like how your oddish regional form turned into Deweeps line but what about others like Scorchupine who has been banished to the shadow realm?

The old designs that were removed got scrapped either cuz I felt like they were redundant to existing Pokémon, or I simply just wasn't happy with their designs! OH, and I had way too many mammals in my original dex and wanted to trim it down..except for the Norre Buneary line which I actually brought back from the cutting room floor!

In the hypothetical games for my fakemon region, there would be two major storylines; one that focuses on the traditional gym challenges, and another that we will get into later! 

For now, let’s meet the Gym Leaders of the Norre region, starting with Leif!
