Theories about Professor Paradox

I know it's more likely due to UAF using similar facial models for the characters like Ben, Gwen and Natalie, but Paradox does look a lot like Devin, Kevin, Devlin and Aggregor. Strangely enough, Phil also looked like Kevin and Devin in his youth. I have seen the theory that Phil was Kevin's real father.

Paradox being related to Kevin may explain some things. It may explain why the celestialsapians forbid him from coming near them. Aggregor nearly absorbed one of their babies and Kevin considered doing it as well. If Paradox is an Osmosian too (if you prefer them being aliens) it would explain why they don't like him. He also acts a bit like a father to Kevin, fixing his car in his debut episode and warning him about mutating again. He seems too old to be Kevin's father but he could be his great grandfather.

My other theory on Paradox is a bit sadder. Paradox was a scientist working for the US government during the cold war. The characters ethnic or religious backgrounds are never specified but Levin is a Jewish name. Going with the idea of Paradox being related to Kevin, my theory is that Paradox, like Einstein and many other Jewish scientists, escaped Nazi Germany in the 1930s and was offered a professorship in the US. After the war, the government recruited him to work on creating a time portal leading him to where he was in his debut episode. Paradox would, in a way, get his dues by helping Ben and co save the universe from the highbreed attempting a similar genocide. His disgust towards guns, shown when he takes Rozum's pistol, may come from having escaped war, fought in a war and possibly knowing scientists who built nuclear weapons that killed hundreds such as the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

i havent stopped thinking about this for ages, but like... im so obsessed with kevin naming his son devlin.

at best, devin DID exist, and kevin wanted to memorialize his dad, one of the only loving father figures he had (besides kwarrel, obviously), so he named his son after his dad.

at worst, devin was just a rooters conspiracy, and kevin still named his son after him. he still loved that false memory, still loved that fake imprint, because it gave him hope (or why else would he be so unwilling to let the plumbers take back the badge in the boot camp episode, huh?), because it made him feel loved and cared for (something which we know for a fact we never got from harvey), maybe even because it reminded him of the type of father he wanted to be to his own son.

and, the implications during OS future are also important to note. its just rly interesting thinking abt his motives at that point - like, was it the first name he came up with off the top of his head? did he secretly want to name his child that for years? did he completely forget that was his dads name since it had been so long that it was just circumstantial, likely a memory he didnt even realize he remembered? did he have devlin BEFORE he went off the deep end, when he was still sane and still had enough wherewithal to want to memorialize and immortalize one of the only people in his life that had seemingly actually cared for him and his wellbeing?

Headcanon that Kevin only reconnects with his mother after he teams up with Ben and Gwen

He’s with them for a few weeks and seeing their familial bond both with each other and glimpses he’s caught with their parents make him miss his mum more than he ever has in the past.

He makes the decision that he wants to reconnect with her, but doesn’t know how. He’s not seen her since he was 11, doesn’t know where she is or how to contact her. So he looks up his Harvey (his stepdad) who he knows has some sort of business.

He finds a contact number for Harvey and after a few tries he finally calls him. It’s obviously a terrifying thing, the last time he saw Harvey he’d just demolished their family home from a power overload, but there is a sense of relief when Harvey picks up.

“It’s Kevin” is all he can say, he doesn’t know what else he can.

There’s a silence before Harvey suddenly starts asking a bunch of questions. Where are you? Are you okay? What happened? Why did you leave?

Kevin doesn’t answer any of them straight away. He automatically asks if his mum is okay, if he’s still with her. She’s his number 1 priority.

Kevin and Harvey agree to meet up when Kevin finds out that a few years after his disappearance they moved and actually ended up close to Bellwood. When they meet up Kevin explains things to Harvey, about what happened and why he left, where he ended up etc.

Harvey doesn’t think it’s that good of an idea for Kevin to see his mum straight away, after seeing her struggle with his disappearance. He doesn’t necessarily trust Kevin not to run off again and leave him to pick up the pieces. Kevin, however, insists that he wants to meet his mum and doesn’t plan on taking off with no contact again. He wants to be in her life.

So, even though he doesn’t think it’s a good idea, Harvey takes Kevin to their new house to meet his mum. Kevin’s nervous, he’ll never forget how terrified she looked the last time they saw each other.

But now he’ll never forget the look on her face when she saw him in their living room. She instantly starts crying, and Kevin’s a little teary eyed too.

One of the first things she tells him is how much he looks like his father.

Kevin E. Levin, an 11-year-old boy and son of Devin Levin, found himself in a dangerous situation when he was forced to become the user of the Aristrix, Vilgax's newest weapon designed specifically to eliminate Ben Tennyson. Initially recruited as Vilgax's newest soldier, Kevin betrayed him and joined forces with the Tennyson team.

Kevin is a free-spirited and ruthless individual, using every resource at his disposal to achieve his goals. These qualities, that Max taught him to control, prove invaluable in his fight against crime.

CURIOSITIES

- Kevin has several scars spread across his body, the largest being from his training with Vilgax and Ar'Ghoz and the smaller being the result of domestic violence and self-mutilation.

-The padlock necklace he carries was a gift from his mother, Sarah Levin, one of the few positive influences in his life. His mother carried a key necklace that unlocked the padlock and revealed a photo of the Levin family.

- He likes to joke with both Ben and Gwen.

- He starts to develop a crush on Gwen that increases after she saves him from his first transformation into Kevin 11.

-Kevin likes to exercise and has an above average physique for an 11 year old, thanks to the training he received from Vilgax.

- His taste for cars dates back to that age and was fueled by his previous job as a mechanic's assistant.

-At this early point in the story, his powers are still limited to absorbing, storing and expelling energy and power.

- Despite being more mentally stable than Kevin Prime thanks to Grandpa Max's influence, Kevin still has psychological problems due to his troubled childhood, these problems made him susceptible to anger outbursts that make him hurt himself and the people around him.

- Kevin has arachnophobia.

- When the Aristrix is in recharge mode, Kevin "borrows" Ben's aliens.

- Kevin's favorite game is to transform into an alien and roughhouse with Ben.

- Kevin's favorite aliens are Fatal Glimmer and Leviathan.

-At first, he just fought crime for fun and for Ben, but after seeing the impact his actions had on people, he started fighting crime for the right reason

Some backstory on kevins dad and osmosians; osmosians are a human like race with the ability to absorb energy and power -- doing so makes them mentally unstable, but small ammounts doesnt hurt them- they look very simmilar to humans aside from small spikes on their head, a more boney phisique and slightly pinker skin.

Timeline below;

Kevins grandfather, Levin is a plummer- who is stationed on earth right at the beginning of the intergalactic polices merging with the plummers of earth- he has a child with a human who he names Devin as osmosians have a custom for rhyming the names of their sons with their fathers- as he has no last name so child is called Devin Levin, borrowing his fathers name as a surname

Devin is half osmosian half human, and got his powers from birth due to having 50% osmosian dna- and his father raised him as any other osmosian parent would- with his unanmed wife being supportive of this and dying fairly young in her 40s

Devin grows up to be a plummer like his father, mostly using his abilities to absorb blaster fire on missions

Kevin is born without his powers as he is only ¼osmosian, and so as is standard with the plummers devin raises kevin as a normal human, without his family knowing that he is not an ordinary plummer who fixes toilets

Devin tells kevin stories of his missions and aliens and technology- kevins mother assumes these are just made up stories but kevin belives them, devin still hides his identity as a half alien however to avoid scaring his son

Devin tragically dies on a mission with his partner max, max is forced to lie and tells the family that devin died at a job due to a faulty gas line and thats why they cant have his body

Kevins mother mourns alone with kevin, and kevin tries to tell her his fathers stories to cheer her up but it doesnt work

Kevins mother re-marries and kevin hates the idea of replacing his father

Kevin and his stepdad dont get along because of this-

At 13 kevins osmosian powers kick in, and he accidentally burns down the house when he unintentionally absorbs the power from an outlet, then scared he pumps it back in causing an overload

Kevins stepdad gets his mother out of the house, and an ambulance takes her away

Kevins stepdad tries to scold him heavily for burning down the house, thinking that kevin stuck something in the outlet and doesnt belive kevin when he says he didnt

Kevin runs away after being told he cant see his mother in the ambulance because she was so burned

Kevin is homeless for years, living on his own, learning how to use his powers, stealing food at first, later using his powers to fry atms and arcade machines for money for food, but he is constantly chased around town by police when he gets caught

Kevin meets ben and the classic series happens

Im the null void kevin gets captured by the rooters who imprison him, torture him with experiments to learn how to entangle human and alien dna together creating the plummers helpers (thats why they have classic series aliens)

The rooters place him in a generic null void prison once theyre done with him

In the prison kevin meets an inmate called quarrel who helps him let go of his anger

Kevins experiences in being mutated scares him away from absorbing energy so he teaches himself to absorb materials (apparently all his experience with diamond heads powers made this easy for him)

Kevin escapes the prison

Kevin meets argit

Kevin and argit pull scams together to survive

Kevin and argit escape together

Kevin and argit pull one last big score so they can go to earth together when kevin tells argit that the plummers arent active on earth to stop their scams

Kevin and argit split ways to lay low

Kevin starts his weapons dealing buisness

When the rooters return after learning about ben sirvauntis restores the memories of the plummers helpers as his child soldiers- he also forces forward the memories of kevins torture, to disable him in their innitial fight of ben

The plummers helpers and the rooters fight ben, kevin is left out of commision and gwen is left trying to snap kevin out of it

Sirvantus uses his powers of kevin again, forcing kevin into the mindset of his child self- where ben is his enemy and he fights ben

We have an "i know your in their moment" between ben gwen and kevin, and kevin snaps out of it-- he lunges at sirvauntus and absorbs his power; uses it to break the plummers helpers brainwashing, then turns it on survantus; forcing him to live out the pain he put kevin and the helpers through and ending the battle

Kevin lets go of his pain, and sirvantuses powers to avoid going crazy again...

As youve probably guessed, the rooters are no longer plummer black opps, but instead they are the reminents of the origional plummers who refused to join the intergalactic police force- and as such are very huamn first racists- they were sent to the null void decades ago for their crimes, the murder and experimentation of aliens

The first seven years of his life were by far the happiest he'd ever remember. Both his parents took on the responsibility of taking care for another life when they were too young to be able to even care for themselves. It was hard, it took a lot of work and patience, but all they ever needed to brighten up their darkest days was a single smile from their little boy.

Devin grew up in a simple household; a run-down apartment in South Bronx was the best his parents could afford at that time, so that's where he grew up. His mother worked at a hair salon, which allowed her to take care for Devin or take him to work with her, while his father would pick up random jobs in hopes of making it up the ladder. Only it happened to be the fastest and surest way to get him killed.

At seven, coming home from school, Devin walked up to a sight he'd never forget. His mother lying on the floor, her clothes ripped, a pillow pressed against her face while a thug forced himself on her. Another man holding his father at gun point in the background, forcing him to watch as his wife is violently assaulted. That picture is forever engraved into Devin's brain, the shock of it making him go silent for the years to come. The ring of a shot gun keeping him awake at night as well as his mother's silent screams.

Despite the efforts of numerous psychologists, the damage been done to his fragile psyche was irreversable. From a good student, Devin crashed down to the bottom. He entered the system but no family wanted to adopt a child with his amount of mental and emotional baggage, even if not much was known about his past. They just assumed. There was a man, though, who came in frequently, checked up on him, paid for some of his therapy sessions (while he still agreed on them or rather while they still could force him into going). Devin never knew who he was or what his connection to his parents' death was until later in life.

As a teenager, Devin started acting up. All this silent rage building up inside of him finally came to the surface. He'd still refuse to talk much, but he'd often get into fights with other kids. He'd start getting mixed up with the wrong crowds, running away and not coming back for days, sometimes weeks, until he needed money. He'd steal or find other ways to get money and keep living on his own as best as possible. He was fifteen when he got recruited into the Syndicate. Back then the gang was still small and desperate to establish its roots in NYC by pumping some fresh blood into its rows. There was a man who saw potential where so many others had only seen tragedy. He gave young Devin purpose when he'd long lost one and some sort of affection, which had missed from his life for a long time, too.

Devin soon proved he had both the skills to be an equal part as a hacker and someone who had the approach with people. The man, who basically took him under his wing from day one, made sure he got good education. Later, Devin infiltrate a few firms worldwide, working as a programmer and using his job as a cover to bring in more people into the Syndicate.
