When a senpai notices you. During the recording for the guitars for @novadowndeathmetal and our debut, I uploaded a few pictures of my rig and while I'm grateful for so many people liking my post, doggone it, one made my day. @michaelspreitzer I know it don't mean much to you, but goddamn I love @devildriver (especially fond of Fury of our Maker's Hand and Pray for Villains). Thanks for all the face-melting riffs. 🤟🏼 #devildriver #fanboy #iamagiantdork #senpai #espguitars https://www.instagram.com/mynrol/p/BvKsLHnBMnj/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1atarfcbku2n4

7, 15, 20. and what song makes you go "why this shit bang tho?"
A song to drive to: Cult of the New Beat by Blood Command is a great driving song for the highway.Cover Song: man the Devildriver cover of Sail by AWOLNATION is fucking great I think it's a nice extra flash of intensity to what is lyrically pretty great already.A song that has many meanings to me: Superstitions by Birthday Party Massacre is one of my favorite songs ever because it's very slow and collected and reminds me a lot of growing up religious, but losing faith over time and growing to resent it. Probably not at exactly what it's about but that's what I think when I hear it. The same could be applied to any authority figure really.A song that makes me ask why the shit bangs? I'm not super sure how to answer so I'll throw a few out. Take My Picture by Five Knives, Radio Song by Superbus, and I guess Recluse by Grieves?

Get to Know Me
I was tagged by the magical @flames-bring-a-ton-of-ash (thanks babe!).
Nicknames: Lex
Star Sign: Scorpio
Height: 5′5″
Time: 18h49 ; 6:49 PM
Birthday: November 14
Favorite Artists: My honest, exhaustive answer would take up this entire post, so I’ll give you 5 faves: Manson, Ghost, Cradle of Filth, HIM, and Devildriver.
Song Stuck In My Head: Ritual by Ghost--in case you missed it, Ceremony & Devotion has been fucking me up NONSTOP for the past two days!! I can’t wait until it’s ritual season again!
Favourite Song Right Now: Everything on Ceremony & Devotion.
Last Movie I Watched: XX--holy shit y’all, this movie blew my damn face off. The storytelling and the cinematography literally moved me to tears--if you love horror, watch this ASAP.
Last Show I Watched: a few choice eps of Arrested Development (for the zillionth time lol)
When Did You Create Your Blog: 2014 I think?
What Do You Post?: Whatever I want, which ends up being a whole smorgasbord of real nonsense--tons of thirst blogging, fandom-y fuckery, cool fan art, gore, music, creepy things, hot things, every picture of Tobias Forge that comes across my dash, and the atrocious fanfic that I write.
Last Thing I Googled: The IMDB page for I am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, the film that’s up next on my horror binge.
Do You Have Any Other Blogs: Hells to the yeah! I have a li’l Star Wars side blog @kyluxnightmare, I’m a sleepy but occasionally present admin on @negans-network, and I co-admin the Ghost love fest @a-ghouls-lasciviousness.
Do You Get Asks: I do, and I love them all!
Why Did You Choose Your URL:  Mads Mikkelsen wears a devastating soft red sweater in Hannibal and it changed my life.
Following: A buttload--I think like 1100.
Followers: A mega buttload--over 1500 and under 3000, &  I love you all very much.
Favourite Colour: Black (to match my soul, obviii)
Average Hours of Sleep: You don’t want to know the answer to this--it’s not. many. Probably 5.
Lucky Number: I don’t think I have one, but 7 is pretty dope.
What Are You Wearing: fat black sweatpants that I’m p sure belonged to one of my exes (thanks bub), a black tee with Daryl Dixon’s face on it, and a drapey, comfy black sweater with skulls on it that’s really more of a wearable blanket. Also huge fluffy blue and white striped socks.
How Many Blankets Do You Sleep With?: One big fuzzy boy on top of my top sheet. I’d sleep with more, but the fella is a burning bag of testosterone who can’t handle that kind of life.
Dream Job: Hoo-wee, a fiction author and pop culture writer. I’m hustling hard on both of these things, so...hopefully one day!
Dream Trip: Take me back to the South of France and/or to Tokyo for the first time.
Favourite Foods: My favorite dish of all time has gotta be mac and cheese (my mom’s recipe hhhh). I love traditional French food, barbecue, soul food, sushi & Japanese food, mediterranean food, Mexican food,  literally all desserts...I just love food, man.
Nationality: American *morphs into a bald eagle*
That was fun! Tagging @squid-from-mirkwood @ltheravenl @bearfeat42 @meredith-is-here @lascitateognesperanza @perseusandmedusa if ya want, & anyone who wants to do the thing.

Respected standard bearers for 21st century metal, DEVILDRIVER have spent almost the last two decades pursuing a course of uncompromising artistry and nonsense-free dedication to the road. Led by the prolific Dez Fafara, the Californian crew have earned their reputation as one of the hardest working bands on the planet, while issuing a steady succession of brutal but distinctive albums along the way. Their focus has remained laser-sharp, and never more so than on the monumental upcoming double album, Dealing With Demons. The first volume of the double album offering – entitled Dealing With Demons I – is set for release on October 9, 2020 via Napalm Records and will be available in several must-have formats. Dealing With Demons I (the band’s first release of new, original material since 2016’s Trust No One) represents the onset of a final purging of the demons that have long haunted Dez Fafara and DEVILDRIVER’s music. From its eerie, ominous intro and the self-explanatory, explosive opener “Keep Away From Me” to the seething, poignant “Nest Of Vipers” and the chilling imagery of “Iona”, each track on Dealing With Demons I illustrates a different demon to be dealt with, or released. In conjunction with the announcement of Dealing With Demons I, DEVILDRIVER have unleashed a searing, propelling new track, “Keep Away From Me”, alongside a new lyric video – a thought-provoking time capsule that paints a picture of positivity at its end. Watch the stimulating visual, directed by Vicente Cordero, below! Frontman Dez Fafara states about “Keep Away From Me” and its accompanying visual: “I’ve been social distancing since I was born. I’ve learned to try and embrace my Agoraphobia all my life. This is what the lyrics are about as we are all sheltered in place. They seem very clear. Now is not the time bands should shy away from the obvious by trying to push the narrative through their art as if everything is alright with the world and ‘it’s metal video visual as usual time’, as it is clearly NOT that time. We as artists should speak up, inspire and change lives, or paint a picture – a time capsule if you will – by the narrative we push in uncertain times. The Dark Carnival emerged once again bringing with them Raven Black
Raven Black who was on tour with Devil Driver and Jinjer stopped into Lancaster PA, Empire Extreme got to sit down and talk to the freaks once again.
EE: How have the fans reactions been since you’re much different from DevilDriver and Jinjer?
Doctor: Yea it’s a great mix, you get a lot of different sounds from each band but each band brings a different dynamic that works well.
Raven: So Far all the fans are saying it’s a killer lineup. It’s been only positive feedback.
EE: So you ant tour plans after this?
Raven: Yea we have a huge tour announcement coming soon, we can’t mentioned who with right now, but soon. It’s going to be a great tour though.
EE: So Stitches you’re back with the band, how’s it feel to be back?
Stitches: Ya it feels better. We have become more united and we feel more tight now. ( everyone says “ it’s very tight” like Bruno)
Raven: we gave him a long vacation (laughs) the bottom line that every cabs goes through growth spurts, and growing pains. We were friends before but now we are family.
EE: You guy have the new album that just released in May, how’s the response been?
Doctor: good, so far I’ve only seen one thing online that someone said the first album was better because it was less harder.
Raven: A lot of the fans are checking us out because of the tour with DevilDriver and Jinjer and the response has been amazing. It’s been overwhelmingly positive.
EE: How was it like making the video for The Doll House?
Doctor: We filmed that fast, we had cameras rolling on us for 3 or 4 hours. We did it at a haunted house so everything was already all set up.all the extras were employees of the haunted house.
Muppet: DarkSyde Acres in Jonesville Michigan.it’s a really cool place. Very big.
EE: So What was the reason for doing a cover of Marilyn Manson’s Nobodies?
Raven: Well it’s Manson and he’s one of my favorites. I don’t personally like to do covers. We loved the song and played it live and works well with our theme. We feel like we are the nobodies. We have another cover that we are thinking of doing but don’t want to say, Incase we don’t do it.
Doctor: You don’t want to say it?
Raven: ok
Doctor: we are thinking of doing a cover of Du Hast by Rammstein.
EE: English?
Raven: in German and English.
EE: Any new projects you’re working on?
Raven: we are launching our Ravens Rejects Fan Club. It’s $6.66 a month for a subscription. It’s all exclusive behind the scenes stuff. We are going to launch it soon after the tour. You get the Facebook chat with me included with that, it will be a booked by appointment. You get sneak peeks, lots of photos of each of us that have never been put out.
Muppet: I’ve got a really sweet picture of my ass.
EE: Dick Pics?
Jay Oakley: Stick Pics
Muppet:oh my that’s a good idea (Laughs)
Raven: There’s 4 sections. The Doctors Lab, Muppets Crypt, Stitches Hallow, and Ravens Cage. I’ll do some Karaoke and vocal lessons and muppets thinking of doing some gaming. We might film one more music video before the end of the year. Maybe Spider.

Johnny Plague, February 2017
Winds of Plague is one of those bands that has just stuck with me for years and years and years. I got into Decimate the Weak along with all my other friends when I was a teenager. It may not be cool to love them or anything, and god knows nothing they’ve put out since is worth your time, but that album will always be a go-to for me and I’ll still go see them every time they play just to get in the pit for their classics.
This was at a show in Austin at Come and Take It Live where they opened for Devildriver and Death Angel. It was a solid metal show and Winds of Plague was as good as ever. I was dating the chick in the picture at the time and she was too scared to approach Johnny Plague, so I went right up to him and asked if he’d take this picture with us. It was a great night. Things didn’t turn out so hot with her, but Johnny was a stand-up guy and this picture is a forever memory.

A long time a go I couldn’t get to this picture and google images linked me to another website, but with a well timed screenshot I was still able to get this nice tattoo. It almost looks like one of the Devildriver album covers
