Yin Hanjiang had once lived on the streets. He'd been small then, too small to understand what was going on. The only thing he'd known was that his parents had gone away and his house was locked. So, the streets, picking through the rubbish bins looking for food, running away from anyone who approached him.

It had been the middle of the night, and Hanjiang had been curled up on a park bench, staring at the stars, when he had first met Wenren È.

The rest is implicit: within a day, Hanjiang had been taken into the foster system and placed with a family. He had a bed, food every day, and soon was enrolled in school. He also had a magazine with the headline WENREN È IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD.

When Hanjiang graduated, it was with one goal in mind: join Xuanyuan company and become the best employee that they had ever seen.

Xuanyuan company's security policy was incredibly lax, Hanjiang thought with disapproval as he walked straight into the CEO's office. Unacceptable. If Hanjiang had his way, no one would be able to approach Wenren È's office without going through him. Or at least walking by two security guards and talking to a secretary.

"What are you doing here?" said a stern voice from further inside the office, and Hanjiang froze. It was dark outside and all of the lights had been turned off. No one was supposed to be there. Hanjiang stepped into the doorway and peered into the dark.

There, backlit by the cityscape, sat Wenren È. There was a tiny desk light on, illuminating a neatly arranged stack of papers and splashing golden light across his face, glinting off his glasses. Hanjiang's hand trembled.

"Sir. I was," his mouth opened, but no further sound came out.

"No matter. I need a file from the second floor archives," he took a notepad out from the desk drawer and wrote something on it in quick, efficient strokes. "Get this and come back. Make sure to clock overtime."

Hanjiang, eyes wide, clutched the note to his chest.

"Sir." he said, then left the room.
